Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verb In Job 29:4, Job says, When I was in my prime, God's friendship was felt in my home. Today we hear the end of Job's speech defending himself to his friends. He misses his life before all of the tragedy began, and he misses when his friends didn't push him to believe lies about himself. During the speech, Job remembers a time when he was happy. He says that during that time he felt like God was his friend who lived with his family. This memory is the opposite of how he feels now, which is the lowest point of his grief and mourning. Job isn't at fault for the bad things God allowed to happen to him, but Job is still a sinner. God used the bad things that happened to show Job the sin of pride in his heart. Job says that God has acted cruelly toward him and is persecuting him, and that is wrong and prideful thinking. Job. Job's pride makes him think that God owes him an answer as to why all of these bad things occurred. God didn't make tragedy come to Job's life, but he does use it to teach Job more about himself. Because God is Job's friend and wants Job to understand him better. God will soon help Job understand what's true about him. God is so near to you that you can call him your friend. A friend is someone you can have fun with and share things with. But most of all, a friend is someone you trust and spend time with. As you spend time with God and learn to trust him more, your friendship with God will grow too. He is worthy of your trust and he's where the joy is.
