Today's Bible verb Psalm 104:20 says, you send the darkness and it becomes night. Psalm 102 is a lament for the writer and for Israel. He is confident that God will hear him and asks for a quick response. The psalmist is suffering, but he knows it's temporary and he contrasts that with God's eternal reign. He looks ahead in hope and knows that someday God will rescue him, help Israel, and bring other nations to God's family. Psalm 103 looks back at God's goodness to his people throughout time. David wrote this psalm and in it he even praises God for the things that he wasn't around to experience. He understands the big story that he's part of the story of God and his people. David points out that life is short, but God's reign is forever. Psalm 104 is a song of worship to God the Creator. It teaches us that God created all things and set up systems for their life cycles. It also shows us that he created not only what we need, but but blessings as well today by God. God sends the darkness Sometimes we might think of darkness and nighttime as something sad or scary, but God sends it. In fact, he made it. He's in it, and it brings him glory. The next time you're sad or scared in the dark, remember that God is there with you and praise him for it. He's where the light is, he's where the dark is, and he's where the joy is.
