Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap
B (0:04)
for kids. Today's bible verse,
A (0:13)
Psalm 133, says, the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting. Today's psalm is short but full of meaning. It's a song of ascent. Do you remember what that word means? It would have been sung by Israelites while they journeyed up to Jerusalem together. Whole families and entire tribes would be singing this song together as they traveled from near and far. And we can guess that an argument or two would have happened along the way and that the people would need to be reminded that they are united in God. They would also be looking forward to the feast they'd share in Jerusalem. So it makes perfect sense that this song praises God for the abundance of the land and for unity among his people. Unity. That's a beautiful word to remember.
B (1:12)
Word to remember. Unity is being joined together as parts of a greater whole.
A (1:20)
In each line of this short psalm, we see God's faithfulness to his people. God richly blesses his kids. In Deuteronomy, God promised Israel that he would bless them in the promised land. And in this psalm, David writes about the best parts of life on abundance, unity, harmony, peace. But the blessings don't stop there. The last line of today's psalm talks about the best eternal life. We read it at the beginning of our day, but let's read it again. It's Psalms133.3, and it says, the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting. God is preparing a future for his kids where he will restore all, all things so that we can live forever with Him. He's where the joy is.
