Psalm 33:21 says, in him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. In a few psalms today, we see David confess his sin. David, this is an important part of life for anyone following Jesus. And it's not something that we just do once. It's an ongoing process, part of our sanctification. Do you remember that word? Let's review it. After all, it's a word to remember.
B
Word to remember. Sanctification is a lifelong process of God making us more like him.

In Psalm 25:11, David admits his guilt, saying, for the honor of your name, O Lord Fruit, forgive my many, many sins. David wants forgiveness for his sins, and he also wants God to be known as merciful and loving. In Psalm 39, David confesses his sin to God again. He knows he's experiencing God's discipline for his sin, but he tells God that he's learned his lesson. He asks God to end the discipline. Now. It's important to note that he asks God for this in private. He doesn't want people who don't know God to be confused about God's character because of his prayer. God can be trusted and we can rejoice. It would be hard to rejoice in someone if you didn't trust them. But when you know you're with someone you can fully trust, then you can rejoice. That's what we can do with God. The more you learn about who he is, what he's doing, and how much he loves his kids, the more you can trust him and rejoice. He's where the joy is.
