Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verb Psalm 75:1 says, we thank you, O God. We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds in three psalms. Today we see a theme of the wrong way to respond to something versus the right way. Instead of seeing sacrifices and offerings as a way to earn God's forgiveness, the people should view them as a way to remember him and be thankful for all that he's provided. Instead of dismissing God like a fool does, we should trust his goodness in our lives. And instead of convincing ourselves that God is angry or rejecting us, we should talk to God about it. He will give us peace and understanding. We also see God's people thanking him for his presence and the great things he has done for them. They know he'll bring justice to their enemies, which is reason to celebrate. There will be an end to wickedness and then the righteous will live. Today God wants us to think about him and one way we can do this is through gratitude. When we think of things and people we're thankful for, we should thank God. He's the giver of all good gifts. When we thank God, we think about him and usually when we thank him for one thing, we start to remember lots of other things to thank him for. It puts our heart close to Him. He's where the joy is.

Ms. Emily guides young listeners through the day’s Bible readings—Psalm 50, 53, 60, and 75—focusing on understanding the right and wrong responses to God, especially around the themes of gratitude, trust, and honesty with God. The episode encourages kids to view sacrifices not as a way to earn forgiveness, but as a way to remember and thank God, and to approach Him with trust and honesty. The underlying message is that God is close, He is good, and gratitude draws us nearer to Him.

Ms. Emily uses today’s Psalms to teach children about the importance of responding to God with gratitude, trust, and open communication. She highlights that sacrifices aren’t meant to earn God’s forgiveness, but to help us remember and thank Him for His goodness. Trusting God, talking to Him honestly about our feelings, and focusing on gratitude all help draw us closer to Him—because He’s where the joy is. This episode encourages kids to reflect on things they’re thankful for and to practice gratitude as a way to feel closer to God every day.
