Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse Psalm 24 says, May he grant your heart's desires and make

all your plans succeed. The Ammonite king dies, and since he was always kind to David, David sends some of his men to offer their condolences. But the Ammonites are suspicious of David's motives and they humiliate and abuse David's men. Then the Ammonites send some hired soldiers and Syrians who already hate Israel to attack Israel. In response, David sends his men into battle an Israelite commander, Joab, encourages his brother Abishai, who is also an Israelite commander, by telling him that they can have courage and faith because God is in control. He knows that no matter what the outcome is, God will take care of them. The Israelites win the battle and the surviving Syrians become Israel's servants and allies. Psalm 20 is a song of praise for God's promises to King David. There are specific promises in this psalm that apply only to David, not to all followers of Jesus. But what we do get to see is God's heart for all his people. He sees our needs. He meets us there. He rescues us. He is our only hope today. By God, God's plan is always best. When David prays in Psalm 20, he knows God will only grant desires and make plans succeed when those desires and plans align with his, his plan. When our hearts are aligned with God, we pray for what he already has planned.
