Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids.
B
Today's Bible verb in Psalm 32. Eight, the Lord says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. David has sinned again and again, and in the psalms we read today, we can see his heart is full, full of repentance. When David uncovers his sin before God, confessing the wrongs that he has done, God covers it.
C
This is what Jesus did for us on the cross, paid for our sins.
B
When we follow Jesus and turn to live his way, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us and he helps us to recognize and confess our sin.
C
This is called conviction and it's a word to remember.
D
Word to Remember Conviction is when God the Spirit leads his kids to repent from our sin and turn our hearts toward God.
B
In some of the psalms David wrote, he's so convicted about his sins that his body feels like he's carrying a big weight. This makes sense. David's sins impacted not only him, but other families and even the entire nation of Israel. When David confesses his sin to God,
C
God forgives him and the weight is lifted.
B
God wants us to be close to him. He even shows us how to be close. Psalm 32. 8 tells us that he won't leave us to figure out on our own. He'll watch us and guide us. This takes work on our part. We can't get close to God while holding on tight to the things he doesn't have for us. We have to let go of our own control and follow him where he leads. Wherever he leads will bring us joy because he's where the joy is.
