Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verb Psalm chapter 8:21 22 says, do not abandon me, O Lord. Do not stand at a distance, My God. Come quickly to help me, O Lord. My Savior. David is a king who calls God his King. David knows that even though he's in charge of a whole nation, God is in charge of the whole world forever. David knows that the reason he gets to be close to God is not because David is good, but because God is good. When David is suffering, he asks God for help. Whether it's physical, spiritual or emotional suffering. David knows God can bring him peace and he asks God to be near and to be gracious to him. God is near even when we can't feel him. Each psalm we read today ends with a plea for help and a belief that God will help. It can be really hard to wait on God to work when we're scared or we're lonely or we're hurting. But by praying like David did, we remind ourselves of who God is and that he's where the joy is. Whew. This was a big week for learning. If only we had some way to summarize it all and wrap it all into one big oh wait, we do. Be sure to check out our seven day Roundup episode where we will zoom out on each week's reading. This helps us to remember all that we've learned and we'll even talk about how we can apply what we've learned. We can't wait to see you there.

In this episode of The Bible Recap Kids, Miss Emily focuses on several Psalms—Psalm 5, 38, 41, and 42—highlighting how King David expresses his dependence on God, even in times of suffering. The episode encourages children to pray to God for help, trust in His goodness, and remember that God is always near, even when we can't feel Him.
Miss Emily wraps up by encouraging kids to check out the upcoming “seven day Roundup” episode, which helps review and apply the week’s learnings.
“Be sure to check out our seven day Roundup episode where we will zoom out on each week's reading. This helps us to remember all that we've learned and we'll even talk about how we can apply what we've learned. We can't wait to see you there.” (01:10)
Kids are left with the message that God is always near, prayer is powerful, and that remembering who God is brings true joy—even when waiting for God to work in hard times.
