Hey, Bible readers. I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's bible verse, Psalm 108:13, says, With God's help, we do mighty things. David feels like God isn't fighting for them and cries to God for help. When David laments, he doesn't hold back. He tells God exactly how he feels. David takes his anger directly to God and asks God to act. In the Psalms of Lament, David reminds us that we should go to God with our anger and sadness. He knows how we feel anyway, and he's the only one who who can do something about it. In the final psalm we read today, Psalm 110, David writes a prophecy, a message from God that points forward to King Jesus, who has always existed, but who wouldn't be born on earth as a baby until about a thousand years later. This psalm is quoted in at least six books in the New Testament, including three of the Gospels. And Jesus himself quotes Psalm 110 and confirms that verse one is about him. Jesus sits at the right hand of God in the position of honor, having defeated all his enemies. God is our helper. Without him we can do nothing. We can't save ourselves, but he saves us. He is our Creator, our helper, our Savior, and he's where the joy is. Sam.

Ms. Emily encourages kids to be real with God about their feelings, just like David was in the Psalms. She shows how even ancient songs like Psalms 108-110 point forward to Jesus and remind us that God is the one who saves and helps us. The takeaway: God knows our feelings and wants us to bring them to Him—He is our ultimate source of help and joy.
