Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse Proverbs chapter 10, verse 20 says the words of the godly are like sterling silver. The heart of a fool is worthless. Today we get some wisdom for every everyone, not just the Son. How we live, what we do and say impacts others. So we should seek truth and live by wisdom. We should also be willing to learn from wise leaders and teachers. Did you recognize the two types of people in chapter 10? Fools keep babbling nonsense and slander. But wise people listen to and learn from instruction. Their words are few and righteous. We learn that being humble is connected to being wise. When someone is humble, they know that they are nothing without God and they will walk in his ways. This blesses their life and the lives of those around them. God hates foolishness and he loves wisdom. As you read Proverbs, you might start to feel like it would be impossible to live up to the checklist of wisdom. And if you feel that way, you're right. We all sin and we all fall short on the checklist of wisdom and many, many other things. The good news, the best news, is that Jesus death covers all our sins. Because of that, we can in God's presence as we chase after wisdom, knowing that we're his kids, he's where the joy is.
