Hey bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the bible recap for wiz. Today's Bible verse Proverbs chapter 16, verse 9 says, we can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Getting wisdom is never an accident. Wisdom comes when we search for it, and the best place to search for it is in God's Word. When we are wise, our words and our thoughts reflect it. It's really difficult to control the things we say and especially the things we think. But if we ask God for help, he will do it. As you study God's word, you'll probably notice your words and your thoughts changing to become more patient, kind, forgiving and loving. When you notice this, give thanks to God. Wise people are humble. They don't assume people owe them things and they don't think they deserve things. They know in their hearts that without God, they're nothing. Their words and actions show the wisdom in this knowledge today by God. God is sovereign. He has power and authority over everyone and everything. Solomon knows this and spends a lot of time in chapter 16 talking about how God is in charge of everything. We can make all the plans in the world, but God is in charge of what actually happens. This should bring us such peace. We don't want to be in charge of our own lives because we would make an absolute mess of them. Recognizing that is truly wise and humble. God made us, he loves us and he does what's best for us. He's where the joy is.
