Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids.

Today's Bible verb Proverbs chapter 19, verse 17 says, if you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord and He will repay you. Today's Proverbs give us advice on relationships and the consequences of sin. Our most important relationship is with God, and knowing him is worth the time and effort it takes. When we sin, God offers forgiveness, but there are often still consequences from our own actions. When this happens to us, and it will happen to all of us, we have to remember that God isn't mad at us or punishing us. Instead of blaming him for the consequences of our sin, we should pray and and ask him to teach us and keep us from sinning even more. The world is full of foolish and simple people who desperately need wisdom. Every time wise people speak the truth, it makes the world more beautiful. But that doesn't mean we should take credit for the wisdom we share. We have to remember that it's all from God today, by God. God cares about the poor. Proverbs 19:17 tells us that if you help the poor, it's like you're lending your resources to God Himself and God will be the one who pays the giver back. If you give money to the poor, you may not see that money come back to you, but you'll get something much better. God cares about people who have nothing, and God cares about people who have a lot. He's generous with all of us and he's where the joy is.

Host: Ms. Emily ("Miss Emily")
Date: June 9, 2026
Episode Theme:
Today’s episode centers on key lessons from Proverbs chapters 19–21, especially focusing on how wisdom impacts our relationships with others, how God views helping the poor, and understanding the consequences of our choices—while always remembering God’s heart for forgiveness and generosity.
Ms. Emily (“Miss Emily”) explains pivotal themes from Proverbs 19–21 in a friendly, easy-to-understand style for young listeners. She emphasizes the importance of wisdom, our relationship with God, and caring for others—highlighting what God says about helping the poor and the gracious way He deals with us even when we make mistakes.
Central Advice:
Wisdom isn’t just about knowing things—it’s about how we interact with people and with God. Our most important relationship is with God, and building that relationship is worth the effort.
“Our most important relationship is with God, and knowing Him is worth the time and effort it takes.” (00:34)
When We Mess Up:
Even when God forgives us for our sins, sometimes there are natural consequences. These consequences aren’t God punishing us or being mad—they are just part of life. In those moments, instead of blaming God, Ms. Emily encourages prayer and learning:
“When we sin, God offers forgiveness, but there are often still consequences from our own actions… Instead of blaming Him for the consequences of our sin, we should pray and ask Him to teach us and keep us from sinning even more.” (00:46)
“Every time wise people speak the truth, it makes the world more beautiful. But that doesn’t mean we should take credit for the wisdom we share. We have to remember that it’s all from God.” (01:13)
Key Verse Highlight:
Ms. Emily focuses on Proverbs 19:17:
“If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord and He will repay you.” (00:10)
Explanation:
Helping the poor isn’t just kindness—it’s something God sees as if you’re giving directly to Him. Even if you don’t get your money or things back from the person you helped, God has something better in store for you!
“If you give money to the poor, you may not see that money come back to you, but you’ll get something much better.” (01:39)
God’s Generosity:
God cares deeply about people who have nothing and also about people who have a lot. He is generous to everyone, and He wants us to be generous too:
“God cares about people who have nothing, and God cares about people who have a lot. He’s generous with all of us and He’s where the joy is.” (01:50)
On Sin and Consequences:
“God isn’t mad at us or punishing us… Instead of blaming Him for the consequences of our sin, we should pray and ask Him to teach us and keep us from sinning even more.” (00:53)
On Wisdom:
“Every time wise people speak the truth, it makes the world more beautiful… We have to remember that it’s all from God.” (01:13)
On Helping the Poor:
“If you help the poor, it’s like you’re lending your resources to God Himself—and God will be the one who pays the giver back." (01:29)
Ms. Emily wraps up by reminding listeners that God’s generosity extends to everyone, and joy comes from Him. The day's Proverbs encourage building a relationship with God, seeking His wisdom, and looking out for those in need.
