Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse 1 Kings 7:21 says, Huram set the pillars at the entrance of the temple. One toward the south and one toward the north. He named the one on the south Jakin and the one on the north, Boaz. There's a pause in temple news today while we learn about Solomon's house. Solomon does good works for God, prays beautiful prayers, and follows many of God's laws. But he also has a divided heart. He spends a lot of time and money having his palace, his wife's palace, a throne hall, and a hall of pillars built. Solomon loves fancy things, and this will eventually become a problem for him. As we go back to learning about the temple construction, we're on to furniture. Today. Solomon hires artists and craftsmen to build gorgeous furnishings for the temple. A gold altar, a bronze basin the size of a swimming pool, 10 lampstands, and many extravagant decorations. When the work is finished, Solomon brings his father David's offerings into the temple. God establishes in strength. The names of the pillars at the temple at the entrance are Jakin, which means he establishes, and Boaz, which means in strength. Even though Solomon built this temple to be a permanent earthly home for God, it will eventually be destroyed. But don't worry. You know what won't be destroyed? God's presence with his people. He doesn't need buildings to live in anymore, because now he lives in his people. He establishes his home in strength in us, his people. How amazing is that? He's where the joy is.

Theme: God’s Strength and Presence: Solomon’s Temple and God’s True Home
Miss Emily walks young listeners through the Bible readings for Day 163, focusing on the construction of Solomon’s palace and temple from 1 Kings 7 and 2 Chronicles 4. She explores Solomon’s divided heart, the significance of the temple’s furnishings, and what the temple means for God’s presence with His people.
Miss Emily summarizes that while the temple and its decorations were amazing, God’s most incredible work is living in His people today. The lesson: God’s presence isn’t limited to grand buildings—He establishes His home in us, bringing strength and joy wherever we go.
