After the Temple is complete, Solomon stays busy. He oversees the building of his own house, his wife's house, 20 cities and a whole fleet of ships. Solomon keeps the holy calendar of feasts and sacrifices, and he tries to remain faithful to God's laws. God tells Solomon that as long as his laws are kept, his eyes and heart will stay fixed on the Temple. God also tells Solomon what will happen if Israel rebels against him. Now, this passage may be hard to understand and may make it seem like God is unkind. But remember who God is, what he's done, and how much he loves his kids. He's always kind and always loving.
