for kids.
A
Today's Bible verse. The writer of Ecclesiastes 3:14 says, I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. Ecclesiastes was probably written by either Solomon or someone writing as if he were Solomon. The author is rich and decides to find out what makes life meaningful. He starts his experiment with working way too much, but it leaves him feeling empty. So then he tries to run after pleasure and fun at every moment, but that also leaves him feeling empty. At last, he decides the best plan is to live and work for the Lord. Life brings many seasons. Pain and joy, Work and rest, war and peace. And through every season, God is working. God and his works endure forever. We spend so much time and energy working for or worrying about things that don't matter and that won't last. They're not eternal. Do you remember that word? It was a word to remember.
B
Word to remember. Eternal means lasting forever, having no beginning and no end.
A
The things of God are worth our time and energy because they're eternal. They'll last forever, just like he will. He's where the joy is, Sam.
