Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's bible verse. In 2 Chronicles 11:4, the Lord says, do not fight against your relatives. Go back home. The 10 tribes in Northern Israel don't want the Levites to be their priests anymore. So without jobs or homes, the Levites make their way to southern Judah. For a while, the Levites help southern Judah live God's way. But eventually, it falls apart. King Jerry of northern Israel had already led his kingdom away from God. And now, sadly, so does King Re of southern Judah. The armies of Egypt come for southern Judah. They take land and treasures, and the two tribes of southern Judah are humbled in their humility. They repent of their sins. Meanwhile, King Jerry continues down his sinful path of worshiping and making sacrifices to idols, false gods, and even evil spirits. God's plan isn't always easy. God told Ray not to fight back against Jerry, even though Jerry had taken away some of Ray's people. It wasn't easy, but Ray obeyed God and sent his soldiers home. Sometimes following God means we have to take the harder path. But it's always worth it. He can be trusted. Even when the path is hard and the plan isn't clear, he's where the joy is.
