Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse 2 Chronicles, chapter 15, verse 2 says, the Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with Him. Whenever you seek him, you will find Him. We covered a lot of time in today's reading, so let's review by kingdom. In northern Israel, King Jerry's army attacks southern Judah. And even though Jerry's army is twice as big, more than half of them die. They lose some land too. After Jerry dies, Northern Israel's next king is Nadab. He's an evil king who only lasts two years. Next, Peter Baasha, who killed King Nadab, rules over northern Israel. He tries to close off one of southern Judah's major routes of travel in an attempt to defeat them, but it backfires. In southern Judah, King Re dies and is replaced by his son Abijah. Like his dad, Abijah doesn't follow God. Abijah dies and is replaced by his son Asa. Asa fears God and wants to make things right in southern Judah, but he still sins. He doesn't ask God for direction and relies on his own plans instead. When a prophet tells Asa that he has sinned, Asa is furious. He throws the prophet in jail and continues to rely on himself instead of God. He lives a long time and sadly spends the rest of his life arrogant and angry. When he dies, his son Jehoshaphat becomes southern Judah's next king. Today, by God, God is with you. And when you seek him, you will find him. For 176 days you've been seeking God. What do you know about him now that you didn't know before? You probably know him better today than you did last week or last year. And if you keep seeking him, you'll know him even better next week and next year. Where the joy is.
