Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible. Verse 2 Kings, chapter 3, verses 16 and 17 tells us this is what the Lord. This dry valley will be filled with pools of water. You will see neither wind nor rain, says the Lord, but this valley will be filled with water. Remember Elisha with an S? He's the prophet that God told Elijah with a J to a point to remember which one came first. It's alphabetical order again, so J comes before S in the Alphabet. It's almost time for Elijah to die, and Elisha is heartbroken. Elisha asks his teacher Elijah for a double portion of the Spirit of God. When Elijah asks God on Elisha's behalf, God gives it to him. And he also sends a chariot of fire down from heaven to take Elijah. Through three miracles, Elisha confirms to Israel that he is Elijah's rightful replacement. Then northern Israel and southern Judah team up against Moab. They go to war, but in their foolishness, they end up in the desert without water. They ask Elisha what to do, and his answer leads them to victory. God uses Elisha in so many ways, from helping a poor widow provide food for her family to raising a rich family's only son from the dead. Today's Baja. God is always working, even when we can't see what he's up to. When Elisha tells the Kings how they'll defeat Moab, he says they won't see the wind or the rain in process, only the effects of it. It's hard to trust that God is working when we can't see it, isn't it? The next time you wonder if God is really at work, remember today's story and pray for faith. He is always working, and he's where the joy is. Throw some confetti, blow up some balloons. Jump up and down. Do a dance. We are halfway through the Bible. Way to go, friends. I am so grateful we're in this together. We can do hard work, and we can especially do hard things when we're doing them together. We make a great team. Just think, by tomorrow you'll be able to say that you're more than halfway through this trip through the Bible. So let's keep going and see you tomorrow, friends.
