Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's bible verse. In 2 Kings, chapter 5, verse 15, Naaman says, Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from from your servant. Naaman is a military commander from Syria, and God has given him many victories in battle. But he also has a serious skin disease called leprosy. His servant girl says Elisha can heal him. But because Israel is in enemy territory, both kings have to give their permission for this meeting to happen. And they do. When Naaman goes to Elisha's house, a messenger tells him to go wash himself seven times in the Jordan river. Naaman is furious because Elisha didn't even see him and the river is dirty. But his servants convince him to try and he does. Naaman is healed and he confesses that Yahweh is God. God pays attention to the big things and the small things too. When a young prophet lost a borrowed axe head in the river, Elisha miraculously found it. And God also kept Elisha safe and protected from his enemies. Elisha is God's prophet, and every prophecy he makes is fulfilled today is by God. God seeks out his enemies to bless them. Naaman doubts God, but God turns his heart around using a servant girl. The permission of Syria's king, the doubt of Israel's king, and the encouragement of Naaman's servants go. God has already blessed Naaman with so much. And then he blesses Naaman with the greatest gift of all, an eternal relationship with himself. He's where the joy is.
