Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for Rams. Today's Bible verse Amos, chapter three, verse six says, when the ram's horn blows a warning, shouldn't the people be alarmed? Does disaster come to a city unless the Lord has planned it? Amos is another prophet, writing at about the same time as Isaiah. God gives Amos eight statements. Six of those statements are about the nations around Israel. They don't know Yahweh as their God, but they are still held to his standards of morality or what's right and what's wrong. They are guilty of cruelty, slavery, murder, and and more. The seventh statement is about southern Judah. Even though they're in a covenant with God, they keep on sinning. They think they'll get a free pass because he chose them. But really they are held to a higher standard and God says that they've rejected Him. The eighth statement is about northern Israel. They've sold people into slavery, mistreated the poor, ignored the hurting, and worshiped false gods. They've broken their covenant. And God has tried to lead them to repentance with drought, famine, disease and more. But even though he's been patient with them, they've ignored Him. So now he will bring judgment today by God. God doesn't cause the disaster mentioned in chapter three, verse six, but he does allow it. This can be hard to understand, and that's okay. It's important to remember that God is sovereign over everything, even the things we don't like or understand. It's also important to remember that God's judgment for sin is always righteous. And finally, it's important to remember that God's judgment on his people is for the purpose of restoring them into a right relationship with Him. He's faithful to us even when we rebel against Him. He's where the joy is.

Host: Miss Emily (Emily Pickell)
Theme: Understanding Amos’s Messages and God’s Righteous Judgment
Miss Emily (“Miss Emily” to the listeners) walks young Bible readers through the opening chapters of Amos (chapters 1–5), focusing on how God, through the prophet Amos, addresses a series of warnings and judgments to Israel, Judah, and the surrounding nations. The recap clarifies God’s standards for right and wrong, His sovereignty, and the purpose behind His judgments, aiming to help kids grasp the heart behind even the harder parts of the Bible story.
Miss Emily reassures her listeners that even difficult passages have a loving purpose. God's judgments are always righteous and ultimately seek to restore, not just punish. She encourages kids to remember that God is always faithful, even when His people stray, and that true joy is found in Him.
Miss Emily’s recap makes clear that God cares deeply about people’s actions and hearts, holding everyone to standards of right and wrong, while always working to restore those who stray away. Remember: “He’s where the joy is!”
