Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse Isaiah, chapter 9, verse 7 says his government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. Jotham, Uzziah's son, has taken over as Southern Judah's king. He's a good king and he follows God's rules. But when he dies, his son Ahaz takes over and that's a different story. We'll get to that one in a couple of days. Isaiah 9 prophesies the birth of Jesus. The Israelites probably thought that their king would be a great military leader who would win every every battle. But Jesus is so much more than that. There are a few hints for the people about who the Messiah will be. Chapter 9, verse 6 even calls him Mighty God. We also read a lot about God's wrath. And that is a hard but a really important word to remember. Wrath is extreme anger. God has wrath for the people whose hearts oppose him. God will wipe out the wicked, but he will save a group whose hearts still belong to him. He knows who those people are and he has a plan to save them and use them in his great plan of salvation for the world today. Baja God's wrath is real and sin has to be punished. Parts of Isaiah are hard to read because God's anger is so heavy. The only person who has never sinned and who doesn't deserve the Father's wrath is Jesus. And Isaiah 9, 7 tells us he rules with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. He took the punishment we deserve so that we don't ever have to face God's wrath. Instead of anger, we get love. He's where the joy is. Do you know what an ambassador is? It's somebody who speaks on behalf of somebody else. And we need you to be our TBR ambassadors. You probably have lots of friends who have never read the Bible or who might have a hard time understanding it. Our mission is to help you not only read the Bible and not only understand the Bible, but to love the Bible. So help us spread the word. Invite your friends and family to join us as we read, understand and love God's word. It.
