Today's Bible verse Isaiah, chapter 35, verse 4, says to those with fearful hearts, be strong and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you. Because of the people's sin and God's judgment over all the nations, Edom was turned into a smelly wasteland covered in weeds. Today we read about how the captives are brought back into the land. We read Isaiah's beautiful prophecy about the restoration of that wasteland. And it points to two the return of the Israelites to the promised land, which already happened in history, and the eventual return of all God's adopted kids. That's us too.
