Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap

for kids.
A
Today's Bible verse. In Isaiah, chapter 66, verse 19, God says, I will perform a sign among them, and I will send those who survive to be messengers to the nations. Isaiah compares Israel's false worship to dirty underwear. The Israelites worship God, but also idols. They fast. And that's a word you'll see a lot in Scripture. So let's make it a word to remember.
B
Word to remember. To fast is to not eat food in order to focus on God, get closer to him, repent, or hear from Him.
A
But the Israelites don't fast for the right reasons. They only fast to show off how religious they are. Righteous things done for the wrong reasons aren't righteous at all. When we sin, we might feel like God is hiding his face from us because we've hurt our relationship with Him. But we should always remember that he is infinitely loving and forgiving and wants us to come back to Him. Isaiah finishes his writings with reminders of both God's judgment and salvation. Those who don't know him will be punished, and those who do will be blessed. When God restores all of creation, we'll get to live with him forever. God extends his blessing to all nations he sent His Son, and He'll send messengers all throughout the world to tell people about Him. And when they follow God, he doesn't make them feel like outsiders. He welcomes them right in as family. He makes the best family, and he's where the joy is. It.
