Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse 2 Chronicles 35:22 says. But Josiah refused to listen to Nico, to whom God had indeed spoken, and he would not turn back. Instead, he disguised himself and led his army into battle on the plain of Megiddo. Josiah becomes the king of Judah when he's only 8 years old. He's a good king and under his leadership, the temple is cleaned and repaired. During that process, his servant Hilkiah finds the book of the Law, which is probably the book that we call Deuteronomy today. God's people had been so far away from him that they didn't even realize it was missing. Josiah reads the book and is heartbroken. He understands how far off track God's people have gone and how the leaders have made it worse. Josiah spends the rest of his life leading the people back to God. Josiah is the last good king Judah will have. After he dies, his son Jehoahaz takes his place and he is wicked. When Jehoahaz dies, the Egyptian pharaoh appoints Elias, also called Jehoiakim. We'll get to that soon. And he does whatever Egypt wants, which means he sends them a lot of money. Today, God can speak through anyone, including people who don't know or love him. Josiah was killed when he didn't listen to Egypt's Pharaoh Nico. Josiah probably thought that because Nico didn't love God, everything he said would be a lie. But. But that's not always true. God can speak through anyone or anything he chooses. It's so important to ask God for wisdom so that we learn to listen for his voice, which always brings truth. He's where the truth is and he's where the joy is. We cover a lot of ground in our Bible reading each week. So to help us remember what we've learned, be sure to check out our seven day roundup each week. Zoom out, see the big picture, reinforce our words to remember, and then we'll learn how we can apply it. Be sure to watch each seven day roundup and watch your understanding of God's word grow.
