Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse Zephaniah, chapter 2, verse 7 says the remnant of the tribe of Judah will pasture there for the Lord their God will visit his people in kindness and restore their prosperity again. Zephaniah is the great great grandson of Judah's king Hezekiah. He opens his letter of prophecy with destruction. God will judge sin both now and in the future. God will punish those who do outright wicked deeds and those who don't care about God's commands, who are too lazy to live by his way. But if the people repent, there is hope for forgiveness. He talks about a small remnant, which is a word you'll hear a lot. So it's a word to remember. Word to remember. A remnant is a remaining group or a group that is left over. God will protect and preserve this remnant during and after his coming judgment. There are two promises that Zephaniah, like most of the other prophets in the Bible, reminds the people of. First, God will save people from all the nations. And second, God is with his kids. He gets rid of their fears simply by being with them. God makes a peaceful home for his kids despite their sin and rebellion. In chapter two, God promises the destruction of enemy nations. He told the Israelites when they moved into the promised land to destroy those nation. But they didn't obey him and through the generations they became wicked people who did evil things and mocked God. So God will now clear those enemies out of the land for his own glory and also for the good of his kids. They'll have a peaceful home. God's patience and goodness can be seen everywhere. He's where the joy is. Did you know TBR has a printable plan? This is a great way to see all of the progress you're making as you read through the Bible.
