Hey, bible readers. I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse.
B (0:13)
In Exodus, chapter 4, verse 12, God says to Moses, now go. I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say. God reminds Moses of his power and gives Moses some signs to prove himself in Egypt. Even after seeing signs of God's power, Moses is still scared to go back to Egypt. Honestly, it just seems like he's scared in general. When God turns the staff into a snake, yikes. Moses runs away from it. But God is kind to Moses and he reassures him. He doesn't tell him that his job will be easy or that everything will go just great. Instead, God tells Moses that he'll speak for him and that he'll send someone to help him. And of course, that's what God does. God sends Aaron, Moses, older brother, as his helper. When they get to Egypt, Aaron makes a speech to the Israelites while Moses shows them signs from God. The people are thrilled. Moses and Aaron request a chance to talk to Pharaoh, who says no. When they ask again, Pharaoh gets angry and makes life even harder for the Israelites. And now the Israelites are angry with Moses. They wanted to believe that the promise Moses told them about was true. But then life got harder. They feel hopeless and they doubt everything Moses told them.

God is powerful and patient. When Moses gives God a list of reasons why he shouldn't be God's choice to free the Israelites, God responds by showing Moses his power. He warns Moses that the job will be difficult, but promises Moses that his power will get him through. He's the source of power. He's the giver of patience. And he's where the joy is.
