Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse. In Leviticus, chapter 22, verse 31, God says, you must faithfully keep all my
B
commandments by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord. God wants his people to be clean.
C
And guess what?
B
Only he can make them clean.
C
Whenever his people go through the process
B
of becoming clean, they have to follow
C
a series of steps that God requires of them.
B
And during this process, they remember God's holiness and his goodness.
C
While they follow these instructions, they're spending
B
time thinking about him, which is a really good thing.
C
God also wants his people to remember
B
his goodness to them, and he wants
C
his people to celebrate. So he gives directions for a weekly feast and for six annual feasts. How great is it that God commands His people to feast? God is perfect. When we read Leviticus, we see that we couldn't possibly keep all of God's laws and we won't ever be perfect.
B
But the good news is that Jesus
C
has already done it for us. If you start to feel bad when you read God's laws because you know
B
you've already broken them, pray and thank God for sending Jesus for you. Then read Romans 5:20 in your Bible. It says God's law was given so
C
that all people could see how sinful they were.
B
But as people sinned more and more, God's wonderful grace became more abundant.
C
Praise God for His grace. He's where the joy is.
