Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for plague. Today's Bible verse numbers, chapter 16, verse 48 says he stood between the dead and the living and the plague stopped. A few hundred people form a group to rebel against Moses and Aaron because they want to take over and be the leaders. Moses asks them to prove their leadership by offering incense to God. Two of the rebel leaders refuse. God sends a sinkhole to swallow them up and sends fire to consume the rest of the rebels. Their incense holders are made into a cover for the altar so that everyone will remember that God is holy and powerful and he's the only one who gets to appoint leaders. But still the people wake up mad and accuse Moses of killing everyone. God is angry again and wants to wipe everyone out with a plague. But Moses has an idea. He tells Aaron to stand in between the living and the dead and to burn incense to atone for their sins. God makes Aaron the high priest and shows his choice by making an almond flower grow and bloom on Aaron's staff overnight. It's a miracle. The people repent and Aaron's staff is stored in the Ark of the covenant for future generations. God the Son intercedes for us, and that's a word to remember. Word to remember to intercede is to advocate or mediate between two people or groups. When Aaron came in between the living and the dead, it was risky. High priests weren't supposed to be near dead bodies because they were unclean. But Aaron risked his life to save others lives. Jesus is our ultimate high priest and he intercedes by facing death and defeating it to save our lives. Romans 8:34 says Christ Jesus is the one who died. More than that, who was raised, who was at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. He's where the joy is. Reading is a really important part of learning.
