Today's Bible verse numbers 23:21 says, no

misfortune is in his plan for Jacob. No trouble is in store for Israel. For the Lord their God is with them. He. He has been proclaimed their king.

The Canaanites, who were living in the

land God promised to the Israelites, believe that if you say something, it becomes true.

So they hire Balaam, yep, him again to curse the Israelites.

But God gives Balaam a word to speak about Israel. And instead of a curse like the

Canaanites wanted, it's actually a blessing. Meanwhile, the Israelites are up to their usual business worshiping idols, BAAL in particular.

Because of their sin, God sends another plague and 24,000 people die. The plague stops when Phinehas, who is Aaron's grandson, honors God and intervenes. God isn't limited by time.

When he talks through Balaam and says things like, no misfortune is in his plan for Jacob and no trouble is

in store for Israel, you might wonder what God means.

After all, his people have sinned against him again and again, and he's gotten
C
so angry that he's wanted to wipe them all out. But because God is outside of time, he knows not only what they've done, but. But what will be done for them. And through Jesus, death, their sins and ours are paid for.

Praise God. Because God isn't limited by time.

He sees our sin, our forgiveness, and our redemption.

Redemption?

Well, of course I'm going to tell you that. That's a word to remember.

Word to remember.

Redemption is salvation that comes because of a redeemer who paid a price.

Jesus paid for our redemption.

And he's where the joy is.
