Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for Mids. Today's Bible verse. In Numbers 31, verses 1 and 2, God says to Moses, on behalf of the people of Israel, take revenge on the Midianites for leading them into idolatry. God. God tells Moses what his last assignment before he dies will wipe out the Midianites. They led the Israelites into sin, which caused the deaths of 24,000 of God's people. So God will have his justice. After the battle, the Israelites count their men. Not a single one died in Incredible. The land God promised to the Israelites is on the west side of the Jordan River. Right now, they're all on the east side of the river, on the land they won earlier. The tribes of Reuben and Gad make their living through agriculture. And they love this land. They ask Moses if they can stay there. After they promise to fight for Canaan with the other tribes. Moses agrees. Today, by God, God fights for our hearts. He knows that sin destroys and he wants any temptations to sin to be destroyed. Do we obey God and get as far away from temptation as we can? Or do we downplay the temptation and act like we can overcome it? The next time you find yourself battling with the temptation to sin, remember, God fights for your heart. Ask him to fight that battle for you. He is stronger than we'll ever be, and he's where the joy is.
