Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse Deuteronomy, chapter 2, verse 7 says, for the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these 40 years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked the nothing. Deuteronomy may seem like a review of what you've already read, and that's good. If you're reading something and you say, wait a minute, I've already read this, you're right. In different books in the Bible, some of the same stories are told in different ways. So if that happens, stop to thank God for giving you such a strong memory and ask him to teach you something new, too. Moses knows the time is coming close for him to die because God told him. For 40 years, he has taught the Israelites, fought for them, prayed for them, walked with them, and loved them. He knows that God will keep his promises, but he's also nervous that the Israelites will fall back into sin. So Moses has some final things to say. Okay, he has a lot of final things to say to the people. Moses reminds the people of the highlights of what has happened since they left Egypt, including what went wrong. Because of their sin and because the people are afraid about the battles that are coming up. Moses also encourages them. Today, God blesses anyone he chooses to bless. He blesses his kids. And he blesses others, too. For a time, the promised land was in the hands of other people. It's a good land, and those people were blessed by it because God allowed them to be. But even in the wilderness, God was with his people. And that is the greatest blessing of all. He's where the joy is. It.
