Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily, and this is the Bible recap for kids. Today's Bible verse, Deuteronomy chapter 16, verse 1 says, in honor of the Lord your God, celebrate the Passover each year in the early spring in the month of Abib, for that was the month in which the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night. Moses continues with his final speech to the Israelites before he dies and they go into the promised land. He explains rules about hair and food. Now remember, God gives rules for a lot of reasons, like keeping his people safe and setting them apart for himself. God tells his people again to take care of the poor. Giving to the poor brings blessing. In fact, God tells them that he will bless them so richly that other nations will have to borrow from them. Not bad for a people who were slaves only 40 years ago. Moses reminds them of their celebration calendar. When they get to the promised land, they'll have to travel to the tabernacle to make sacrifices. And this will help them remember God and what he's done for them. God has done so much. Just like God wanted the Israelites to look back and remember, he wants us to look back and remember too. So let's look back and let's look forward. God, the Son who is Jesus, came to earth, and one day he's coming again. When we look back at Jesus resurrection, we also look forward to when he will come again. Bible readers, did you hear that word resurrection? It is such an important word to remember. Word to remember. Resurrection means coming back to life from the dead. Many Bible teachers call the time we live in now the already and the not yet. Because Jesus has already come once and he will come back again, just not yet. When people whose ancestors are from Israel look back on the Exodus, they are filled with joy. And when we look back at the resurrection and forward to Jesus second coming, we are filled with joy. Since the beginning of time and forever. He's where the joy is. We know it's important to you for the kids in your lives to read, understand, and love the Bible as much as you do. And we're here to help. That's why we created TBR Kids. This division of the Bible Recap is designed specifically with kids in mind. We've created resources that will help even the youngest Bible readers engage with God's Word in ways they can understand and enjoy. We have books, podcasts, videos, and we're making new things all the time. And TBR Kids follows the same reading plan we use in regular tbr.
