Hey Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for rams. Today's bible verbs. Joshua 6:20 says, when the people heard the sound of the rams horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly the walls of Jericho collapsed and the Israelites charged straight through the town and captured it. Today, the nation of Israel steps into the promised land. Their enemies are still there, so they have instructions for how to drive them out. They're going to take down Jericho first and have to follow God's instructions to prepare for battle. But God's instructions aren't to run sprints or practice using weapons. His instructions are to walk around and blow trumpets. And by the way, this is a terrible battle strategy by human standards. Joshua runs into a man with a sword who says he has come as a commander of the Lord's army. Joshua believes he's in God's presence, so he bows down in worship. Joshua and his men follow the instructions God gave. They march around the city with the ark once a day for six days, blowing trumpets. And on day seven, the people shout, the walls fall down and the Israelites take the city. Everyone except Rahab and her family, who are now protected by the two spies she protected, is defeated. Today, Baja God is always at work. As the Israelites walked around Jericho the first six times, they probably thought they were wasting time and energy. But even if it's we can't see, we can still trust that God is working. When we follow God's directions, we grow in our obedience to Him. Obeying God is always the best place to be, even if we don't see or understand what he's doing. He's where the joy is.
