It's that time again. Seven day roundup.
C
Let's zoom out.
A
The Israelites are finally settled in the promised land. We saw Joshua and Caleb serve God until the end of their lives. And we met the first five judges God appointed to lead his people. People, we saw Israel choose sin many times and we saw God welcome them back every time they turned back to Him. We've finished our seventh book of the Bible. Here's the
B
big picture. Joshua.
A
Joshua shows us that God keeps His promises like he promised Abraham. They become a great nation having a blessed relationship with Yahweh and living in the promises. In the book of Joshua, God gives His people victory, a home and rest. We learned three new
D
words to remember. Refuge means a safe place to live. To rebuke is to express sharp disapproval.
C
To oppress is to treat someone in a powerless position cruelly and unfairly.

Now let's talk about how what we're learning applies to us. God kept his promises to Israel and do you know what, Bible readers? He keeps his promises to us too. In John 14:27, Jesus says, Peace, I leave with you. My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You heard me say, I am going away and I am coming back to you. Jesus promises that he's coming back and he always keeps his promises. We can have peace like he says. We don't have to let our hearts be troubled and we don't have to be afraid because we know that he's with us forever. Anytime you're afraid, pray and ask God to remind you of his promises.
