Hey, bible readers. I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap
B
for kids.
A
It's that time again. Seven day Roundup to look at our story from way up here. Let's zoom out. We finished 18 books together in the past seven days. Northern Israel and southern Judah went through a lot of kings. And some were good, but most were bad. We learned about the power God gave Elisha. And we also read about Jonah's trip to Nineveh, which happened during the time of the split kingdom. We read one whole book of the Bible in a single day. So let's make sure we have the
B
big picture.
A
Jonah through a storm, a big fish and a bitter missionary. The book of Jonah teaches us that God is in charge of everything and that God is generous in giving mercy. We learned one new
B
word to remember. To defile is to spoil or corrupt.
A
And what does all of this mean for us today? Let's find out in an
B
application.
A
God does big, breathtaking things. He sent a storm and a fish to make sure Jonah told the people of Nineveh about Him. He brought a body back to life when it touched the bones of one of his prophets. And God also does small, beautiful things. He used Elisha to provide food for a widow and her family. He gave Jonah a vine for the shade. In the Bible we see that God is in the big details and the small ones. And do you know what, Bible readers, that is still true today. The God you're reading about in the Bible is the same God who does big things and small things for you and your family today. Make a list of some of the big things God has done and make another list of some of the small things you've seen him do. Thank him for both the big and small ways he shows his goodness and love.

He's where the boy is.
