Hey, Bible readers, I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible recap for the Wickets. It's that time again. Time for a seven day roundup. First up, let's zoom out. Over and over again, we've seen the Israelites complain, doubt and rebel. God has always provided for them, but they've continued to sin against him. Still, God has given mercy and let them live. This week we learned one new word to remember to intercede is to advocate or mediate between two people or groups. So what do we do now? Well, let's talk about it in an application. Through Leviticus and numbers, we've seen that God spoke to Moses a lot. He gave Moses commandments and laws and rules. He explained the consequences of sin and he also gave Moses mercy. Promises and blessings. God speaks to us today too. One of the big ways he speaks to us is through His Word, the Bible. As you've been reading the Bible, what has God told you about himself? In Leviticus 26:11 12, God says, I will live among you and I will not despise you. I will walk among you. I will be your God and you will be my people. And Deuteronomy 4:31 says, for the Lord your God is a merciful God. He will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the solemn covenant he made with your angels ancestors. And what does God tell you in His Word about you? Well, let's look forward to 2 Corinthians 7:1. It says, because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God. God's Word teaches us that he is always with his people. And His Word teaches us that because he is with us, we are his people too. We can work toward being holy like God is holy. He's where the boy is.
