Hey Bible Readers. In addition to our regular 8 minute daily podcast of the Bible Recap, we also have a second daily podcast that follows our daily Bible reading. In the Bible Recap, we'll be recapping what we just read in Scripture and this podcast will be our prayer of response to God about what we just read. Since it's a podcast devoted to prayer, we're calling it the Bible Kneecap. Like kneeling in prayer. Each day's episode will post immediately after the Bible Recap so you can listen to them back to back so our suggested order will be read. Recap Respond Lots of listeners tell us the Bible Kneecap prayers help them build out their understanding of what we've just read. Even more in this podcast, we use a prayer method called pray. It's an acronym that stands for Praise, Repent, Ask, Yield. Each day we'll be changing up what we're praising God for. That's the P in the Pray acronym. Our praise will usually connect to the God shot from that day's episode since that's where we saw God's character or attributes on display. After that, we'll point you to some ways to r repent a Ask and yield. But those will obviously look different for each person from day to day, depending on what's happening in your heart and your life. Before we begin, one thing I want to point out is that following along with pre written prayer is not meaningless or vain. Even Jesus himself gave us a prescribed prayer to pray when he gave his disciples the Lord's Prayer. Old Testament Jews and the believers of the early church glorified God and took comfort in praying the prayers of the Psalms written by David and many others. Those prayers not only help us connect with God, but they help teach us his character as well.

Day, echo it back to God in your own heart, and feel free to expound on it in your own words. We want this to serve not only as a teaching tool, but as a catalyst for your own extended conversations with God after I say Amen. So, without further ado, here's today's episode of our daily prayer podcast, the Bible Kneecap, which corresponds to today's reading from the Bible Recap.

Father, you are so patient and kind with the wayward and rebellious, and we praise you for that. We also praise you that you can be trusted not to leave sin unpunished. Your heart for justice is a comfort to us, and so is your heart for mercy. Your ways are always righteous and we praise you for that too. Have mercy on me a sinner. We repent of our sins and turn to you and we ask you to make our hearts clean. Idols have always and will always plague us. Like Jehu, we're half hearted. We follow some of your ways and ignore others. Our idols cloud our vision and steal our affection for you and we repent. Would you clear away the idols in our lives, increase our affection for you so that our interest in things that are opposed to you gets pushed out of our hearts? May you increase as we and our idols decrease. We surrender our lives to you Lord, every moment of our day, each decision we make. We yield our will and way to your perfect will and way. We love you too. Amen.

Podcast: The Bible Recap
In the Day 185 episode of The Bible Recap, host Tara-Leigh Cobble introduces listeners to a new companion podcast titled Bible KNEEcap. This supplementary series is designed to deepen the daily Bible reading experience by offering a focused time of prayer in response to the Scripture study.
Tara-Leigh Cobble [00:04]: "In addition to our regular 8-minute daily podcast of the Bible Recap, we also have a second daily podcast that follows our daily Bible reading."
Bible KNEEcap serves as a prayerful extension to the Bible Recap, allowing listeners to engage more intimately with the day's Scripture through prayer. Tara-Leigh explains that while the Bible Recap provides a succinct summary and analysis of the daily readings, Bible KNEEcap offers a structured prayer response, fostering a deeper connection with God.
Tara-Leigh Cobble [00:04]: "In the Bible Recap, we'll be recapping what we just read in Scripture and this podcast will be our prayer of response to God about what we just read."
The suggested listening order is:
This sequential approach ensures that the prayer is directly tied to the day's Scripture, enhancing the overall spiritual journey.
A cornerstone of Bible KNEEcap is the PRAY acronym, a structured method for daily prayers:
Tara-Leigh Cobble [00:22]: "We use a prayer method called PRAY. It's an acronym that stands for Praise, Repent, Ask, Yield."
Each component is tailored daily to reflect the specific themes and lessons from the Scripture reading, allowing for personalized and relevant prayers.
Tara-Leigh Cobble [00:35]: "Our praise will usually connect to the God shot from that day's episode since that's where we saw God's character or attributes on display."
To illustrate the PRAY method, Tara-Leigh presents a sample prayer led by Unknown Speaker 3. This prayer encapsulates the essence of the method, demonstrating how listeners can structure their own prayers.
Unknown Speaker 3 [02:07]: "Father, you are so patient and kind with the wayward and rebellious, and we praise you for that. We also praise you that you can be trusted not to leave sin unpunished. Your heart for justice is a comfort to us, and so is your heart for mercy. Your ways are always righteous and we praise you for that too."
The prayer continues with a focus on repentance, asking for a cleansed heart, and yielding one's life to God's will.
Unknown Speaker 3 [02:43]: "We surrender our lives to you Lord, every moment of our day, each decision we make. We yield our will and way to your perfect will and way. We love you too. Amen."
Tara-Leigh emphasizes that structured, pre-written prayers hold significant value and are not merely rote recitations. Drawing parallels from biblical traditions, she underscores the importance of prescribed prayers in fostering a deeper relationship with God.
Tara-Leigh Cobble [01:29]: "Even Jesus himself gave us a prescribed prayer to pray when he gave his disciples the Lord's Prayer... Those prayers not only help us connect with God, but they help teach us his character as well."
This perspective reinforces the intentional design behind Bible KNEEcap, aiming to guide listeners in meaningful and transformative prayer experiences.
