Tom Griswold
It's the Bob and Tom show.
Bob Kevoian
Tonight on Bob and Tom television. It's Bob Covoyan. Like you've never seen him before and may never see him again.
Josh Arnold
He was working in the lab when something blew. Now he's living out his dream come true.
Tom Griswold
Oh, boy. I'm invisible.
Josh Arnold
He's invisible, Bob. Oh, he's watching women taking off their clothes and he's grabbing asses, but nobody knows
Al Jackson
what the.
Tom Griswold
He's invisible Bob. Bob Kavoyan is invisible Bob.
Bob Kevoian
Tonight's episode, cheerleader tryouts.
Christy Lee
Gee, Tiffany, those tryouts sure were hard. I'm all sweaty. Can you do my back?
Tom Griswold
Sure, Megan.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, who opened the shower door?
Christy Lee
That air is cold.
Josh Arnold
Cold.
Christy Lee
Oh, what's that? It looks like that beer and cigarette are floating in midair. What's the matter, Tiffany? I'm not sure. My boobs feel all squeezy and pinchy.
Tom Griswold
That's invisible bomb, right after an all new America's funniest home accident. All right, studio audience, it's time for
Bob Kevoian
you to choose tonight's winner. Is it slippery stairwell
Tom Griswold
or table saw? Or will it be grandpa's rifle? Find out tonight on an all new America's funniest home accident, right after the Emmy nominated invisible bomb, only on Bob and Tom tv.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, Elvis, the music's playing, I think.
Tom Griswold
Hey, it is. It's the Bob and Tom show.
Bob Kevoian
Unbelievable.
Tom Griswold
From the O'Reilly Auto Part Studios, Christy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hello?
Tom Griswold
Hello? Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Chick.
Christy Lee
Hey.
Bob Kevoian
It's gonna be a great day.
Tom Griswold
It's gonna be a great day. I had coffee sp in the car. Thank you. Oh, hello, Josh.
Bob Kevoian
Well, hello.
Josh Arnold
Coffee spill. Are you okay?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah, I'm all right.
Christy Lee
You don't even drink coffee.
Tom Griswold
Ace Cosby.
Al Jackson
Hello.
Tom Griswold
I beg your pardon?
Bob Kevoian
What's going on?
Christy Lee
This. What is going on?
Pat Godwin
Coffee for everything.
Bob Kevoian
There's been a change.
Tom Griswold
You know, Joan Didion. Joan Didion put it best. I've already lost touch with the people I used to be, so I'm. I'm making some changes.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Tom Griswold
Making some wholesale changes.
Bob Kevoian
You're drinking coffee and reading.
Tom Griswold
Nope, nope, nope. Not at all. I saw it. I think it was a refrigerator magnet.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, good.
Christy Lee
So you need to get one of those little carriers like Tom has.
Tom Griswold
You know, as much as I. I pick on Tom, that carrier is a stroke of genius. I've done this twice this week, and each day has ended in abject failure.
Bob Kevoian
I have a. A plastic. It's got. It's got like three. Three cup holders on either side. It's like a Little plastic bin, which I got at Michael's. The. The art store. Right. Hobby store.
Tom Griswold
I guess those things should be issued to every citizen in the United States.
Bob Kevoian
You'd be amazed. There's the place across from the gym I go to. And I'll be in there getting an iced tea. And some people will walk in, go, oh, my God.
Tom Griswold
I bet.
Bob Kevoian
So it's like I've reinvented the wheel.
Josh Arnold
That's the new chicken in every pot.
Tom Griswold
That's exactly right.
Josh Arnold
Coffee carrier in every house.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Because let's face it, if you are a coffee person or whatever, those. Those. Those cardboard biodegradable things, they don't work. The minute you hit the brakes, it's game over.
Christy Lee
Especially when your coffee's tall.
Bob Kevoian
There we go. Hold that. Show that, everybody.
Tom Griswold
Is this mine? Can I have it? Oh, is that meant for paint?
Pat Godwin
What is that meant for?
Bob Kevoian
It's hobbies. Hobbies. You could put pencils or hobbies.
Josh Arnold
Or chick. I like your new coffee carrier.
Tom Griswold
Oh, thank you very much. By the way. They come in.
Bob Kevoian
They come in several colors. I think they're like four bucks at Michael's.
Josh Arnold
You went with turquoise.
Tom Griswold
I love it. Matches my eyes.
Bob Kevoian
You know something I love with turquoise because it's got kind of a Caribbean feel. Josh.
Josh Arnold
Okay, Nice.
Bob Kevoian
I have a nice letter for you, by the way. Josh.
Tom Griswold
A little steel drum for you.
Bob Kevoian
Once again, people want Josh to start. To start the show off in a good mood. Got this one right here.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they read me a listener letter.
Commercial Announcer
See?
Tom Griswold
No, see, everything was fine.
Pat Godwin
Everything just.
Tom Griswold
Everything was fine. Until he goes. Something about. Why would he add that? Just go, I got a letter for Josh. Here we go.
Josh Arnold
He knows better, but he does know what helps me.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Listener letters and.
Tom Griswold
And asking you if. Are you in a good mood? He's done it to me a million times. Go ahead, listen to.
Pat Godwin
Are you in a good mood?
Tom Griswold
Hang on. Let's broadcast here. Okay, Go ahead, dumbass.
Bob Kevoian
I'm expecting a not even a lukewarm response to this. I found it delightful. And this is apparently a Facebook thing, but it says, please ask Josh. It's a throwback Thursday. Do you ever fish on Thursdays?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, sure.
Bob Kevoian
You know, See, the. The point being, throw the. Isn't that fish? I thought that was someone who's embracing. Embracing your love of fishing and your love of humanity and their love for you. But no, no, don't poo. Poo it. Don't. Don't burst this poor guy's bubble.
Tom Griswold
No, it's an awful joke.
Bob Kevoian
It's not A joke.
Tom Griswold
Throwback Thursday.
Bob Kevoian
It's a.
Tom Griswold
You throw the fish back.
Bob Kevoian
I tried. Now I'm gonna have to work hard.
Tom Griswold
No, if you had not.
Josh Arnold
Right. We'd be swimming along.
Pat Godwin
We were fine. We were fine.
Tom Griswold
We were way downstream.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
And you got out and tried to drown us.
Pat Godwin
You just tipped the canoe is what you did.
Bob Kevoian
Alrighty. Well, coming up, we have not canoes. We got a pretty cool story about actually something I did a few weeks ago. Tubing down a river.
Josh Arnold
Fun. You did that a few weeks? Oh, yeah. You were in Vale.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And it was. It was really.
Pat Godwin
You got.
Tom Griswold
No, you got in the tube down the river. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And it's their photo.
Josh Arnold
Those rivers go downhill.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Photographic evidence.
Bob Kevoian
Well, the good news is. Well, it's bad news, primarily.
Tom Griswold
Qualifications begin.
Bob Kevoian
Well, there wasn't a lot of snowpack, so the river is not exactly. Oh, but it was still. There were some rapids and it was fun. We have a story coming out of Michigan in which some. Some people did this and ended up, well, quite literally eating bark and flowers to survive because they. They like to eat.
Tom Griswold
Well, we made it, but we had
Bob Kevoian
to dist year in. Yeah. Yeah. It's about a lack of preparedness. We'll get to that story coming up.
Tom Griswold
Oh, you blame them. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I do.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
It was their fault. They're lucky they're alive. Now, I also have a. Oh, a great story that we get every now and then involving crime. It's. It's one of my favorite crime stories.
Tom Griswold
I'm against crime. What do you think of that?
Christy Lee
Oh, that's good.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that's my take.
Christy Lee
I like that stance.
Bob Kevoian
That's big of you. Anything else you want to weigh?
Tom Griswold
Speaking of the woods, have you seen this documentary? I saw it for the first time over the weekend. It's called Grizzly Man.
Josh Arnold
Oh, you hadn't seen that?
Tom Griswold
I hadn't seen it yet. Warner Herzog, who I love, and. Yeah. This guy lives with grizzlies for like 13 years until they.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, until they eat it.
Christy Lee
Until they.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, and they eat him.
Bob Kevoian
And they actually, they. They don't. They play the audio.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, they don't show.
Josh Arnold
They don't play the audio for us. They. We get to see Warner listen to it.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Josh Arnold
That was my brother John's biggest complaint. We want to hear it.
Producer/Engineer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
This is the audio when the guy's being killed by one.
Christy Lee
Oh, you want to hear that?
Bob Kevoian
No, no.
Tom Griswold
The chopper pilot or the light aircraft pilot was telling. He came up and the bear was laying there. And then they cut the bear open and there's the guy.
Christy Lee
Oh, my God.
Tom Griswold
The guy and his girlfriend.
Christy Lee
And the girlfriend, too.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Don't they say, like, one of the first things they'll do is scalp you?
Tom Griswold
I think so.
Josh Arnold
Something like that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
With a paw Again. Little bears are cute.
Tom Griswold
You ever get up in the morning,
Bob Kevoian
big grizzly bears, kind of scary. They don't understand the formula.
Tom Griswold
You get up.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, you fed me 12 years ago.
Tom Griswold
You take a shower, you get out. You look at the window, you look at the mirror, and it's fog. So you wipe it with your hand. Well, think of a bear doing that to a person. Just as much effort and your head comes off.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Al Jackson
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And. Yeah, I have seen that. That's.
Christy Lee
I wonder what made him turn.
Josh Arnold
That's the whole thing, kind of. I mean, I think what it is, is. Oh, it's a bear.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Josh Arnold
No matter how you think.
Tom Griswold
But he. In the beginning, he looks like he does have control.
Josh Arnold
I know.
Tom Griswold
Like unruly children. Stop. You stop that. And the bear turn walks away. It's nuts.
Christy Lee
Oh, maybe they got tired of being yelled at.
Bob Kevoian
Well, it's like, who was the. Who was the lunatic?
Tom Griswold
That son of a. Calls me, tells me to shut up one more time.
Bob Kevoian
Who is the guy during COVID with all the tigers that.
Christy Lee
Oh, tiger king.
Tom Griswold
Tiger king, man.
Bob Kevoian
Joe, Joe, Joe.
Pat Godwin
Exotic.
Josh Arnold
Joe.
Pat Godwin
Exotic.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, eventually, you know, look at. Who were the two magician guys?
Christy Lee
Roy and Roy.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. The cats were just fine until one day.
Christy Lee
No, he was just hugging him, remember?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, sure he was.
Tom Griswold
Have you ever listened to yourself tell a story?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they.
Tom Griswold
You know, when I was in that city over there where they gamble. Vegas. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I didn't have time to research the topic. I'm just saying that they're wild animals, for God's sake.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Eventually the wild animals get a little wild.
Christy Lee
They win. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
We've been domesticating dogs for quite some time, but, you know, someone who gets a pet wolf.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, I am promoting the new dog, the new breed, the Wolf Doodle. They're not allergenic, but they attack you when they turn four.
Christy Lee
Have you seen that video that's viral of the coyote that's in the dog park? No, it's playing with the dogs. It just.
Josh Arnold
Oh, wow.
Christy Lee
Crazy.
Tom Griswold
I'm just a coyote, man.
Christy Lee
Just a coyote. I want to play, too.
Bob Kevoian
Well, yeah, for now. You know, my neighbor who's dog is no longer with us.
Tom Griswold
So you got a local coyote, you got a wolf, you got a coyote, you got A dog.
Bob Kevoian
Can they all have babies, the coyotes? What is it called? A koi when the. A coyote.
Tom Griswold
Is it called. Is it called a koi, Isaac?
Bob Kevoian
Is that what. I think that.
Tom Griswold
Because they all have. They can all have sex with each other, right?
Christy Lee
I think so.
Bob Kevoian
You can have sex with a brick if you want to.
Josh Arnold
I mean, I don't recommend it.
Christy Lee
I hope you get the one with the holes in it.
Tom Griswold
Even though, by the way, if you do, you are.
Bob Kevoian
You are not exactly. Well, last time I saw those that. You can barely get a pencil in those. Maybe a big pencil, about a quarter size. Well, like this. I like to congratulate us on going through at least six topics. And the show just started. Thank you very much. As you know, this is the Baby Tom program. Happy to be here. And we have a lot of cool stuff coming up, including something from the world of rock and roll news that is just absolutely wonderful.
Josh Arnold
Oh, good.
Tom Griswold
Did you see the meteor shower last night?
Christy Lee
Well, we're not here. We didn't.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, I tried, but it was like. Come on.
Bob Kevoian
On tv.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Thank goodness for television.
Bob Kevoian
Well, for you guys.
Tom Griswold
What do you mean?
Christy Lee
Oh, you don't have tv.
Tom Griswold
He had another incident with his television system.
Bob Kevoian
God, my tv. There's no sound. It was a power outage. When it came back, it was just fine except there's no sound.
Tom Griswold
You know, if he, you know, you
Christy Lee
go into the audio problem.
Bob Kevoian
I did that. It's nothing.
Tom Griswold
If he. If he had the guy come over and the guy walks in, picks up the remote and hits the mute button and the sound comes back, I'd love it. We would never. We'd never hear about it.
Bob Kevoian
It's the last time it happened. The guy came over, went down the basement and had to root around and some found some obscure switch. Biggest mistake I ever made. Okay, but. So, yeah, I didn't.
Tom Griswold
You need a nice 13 inch black and white.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I needed. Yeah. With. With rabbit ears.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's what you need.
Christy Lee
Four channels, you'll be set.
Tom Griswold
It's all digital now, but you could.
Pat Godwin
Very good.
Bob Kevoian
Make that work now. Also coming up in sports.
Tom Griswold
Yes. Coming up in sports. Hey, the Los Angeles Lakers were purchased again. What is this, a time warp? Are we repeating the story from last year? No, they got bought again. Russell Westbrook is retiring. Here's a list of people who care. And Deshaun Watson looks like he's going to start Cleveland's exhibition opener on Chicago at Chicago on Saturday. We'll see how that turns out. And six exhibition games tonight at the NFL I hope everyone's all set up and ready to go. And the Phillies and the Twins Field of Dreams game tonight in Dyersville. Dyersville, Iowa. Rumor Kevin Costner is going to have something to do with the broadcast tonight. And it's going to be only on Netflix.
Christy Lee
That'll be cool, though.
Bob Kevoian
Get ready for that. This is the first game in the cornfield for what, three or four years?
Tom Griswold
Three years. Yeah, a couple.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Also coming up, if you're in the Internet dating sphere, big news. Big news from Bumble.
Christy Lee
Yep. And somebody won Powerball by enough last night. One winner in Illinois.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. And I've done. I got Powerball tickets again yesterday. And of course, losing. So the way I have it figured, you guys all each. You go. Me owe me $80.
Christy Lee
Really?
Bob Kevoian
All right, we got geese in the news and we've got a cool story coming out of Shake Shack. Oh. But right now, if you want to keep your shack. See what I did here, Josh. If you want to keep your shack secure.
Tom Griswold
Chick. Simply Safe is celebrating their 20th anniversary. Other home security systems are designed for after. You know this, Tom. That's after the horse got out of the barn. What are they thinking?
Bob Kevoian
That's not gonna do me any good.
Commercial Announcer
No.
Bob Kevoian
There's a picture of the guy stealing your tv.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Actually, in my case, you can have my tv. There's no sound.
Tom Griswold
Simply Safe, the first system designed for before. For a break in. Stopping a break in before it begins.
Josh Arnold
Here's a picture of a robber returning a TV to Tom's house.
Tom Griswold
Audio's out. Smart AI powered outdoor cameras detect suspicious activity at the perimeter and alert live US based agents to step in. Simply Safe's agent, assess the threat. Bob Kevoian
Coming up, a really cool story from the world of classic rock. Really just a really happy good news story. A real quick footnote. Rod Stewart's okay. You may have heard that he had to cancel a show in Columbus.
Tom Griswold
He's a brother of the stent.
Christy Lee
Yeah, he got a stent procedure.
Bob Kevoian
He's gonna take a month off.
Tom Griswold
Rookie. How many he's got? Just the one.
Pat Godwin
Just the one. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Rookie Rod is fine. But a really cool, happy kind of a reunion story coming up in the world of classic rock. I'll just give you a little bit of a hint. Possibly featuring top five guitar riffs of all time. That's all I'm gonna say. Speaking of guitars, Pat Godwin's gonna grab his guitar, head to the Astra theater. I just want to say Jasper, Indiana. That's a hard J though, right? Yeah.
Christy Lee
Jasper.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Jasper, Indiana on Yatterday, August 22nd. Is that helping at all?
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Would you yuck the Shut up close. Oh, shut the. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. Get tickets@theastro theater.com once again, Saturday the 22nd. Patty G. Back on stage courtesy of the Razor 94.5. I know they're, I know they're going to call me and ask me to do their IDs, right?
Josh Arnold
Yes. That'd be crazy.
Tom Griswold
So. And I hope the recording is 6 to 10am Eastern.
Josh Arnold
Go ahead.
Bob Kevoian
Ace is shaking his head. These are the O'Reilly Auto Part Studios. This is the Bob and Tom show.

Hello, there's Josh Arnold. Hi there. Hi. There's Ace Cosby. Hey, I'm Chick. Tom, of course, realizing he's about to be on the air, shuffling papers and going into what appears to be a basement where he's seated. I'm not sure what's going on, but he's back. Hello. I'm back.
Bob Kevoian
I was just going through some stuff. Yes, a bunch of stuff going on over here.
Tom Griswold
Emails from our listeners brought to you by sleep number.
Christy Lee
Oh, oh, I know, right? Slept so, so well last night.
Tom Griswold
Right now you get your beautiful, delicious, gorgeous sleep number bad. The biggest sale of the year. Take 25 off the nuke Comfort next Lux Comfort next Lux. Next level. Limited time only at a sleep number store or sleepnumber.com Christy, you asked me
Bob Kevoian
the other day, when you rent an Airbnb or go to a hotel or when you travel, what do you miss the most?
Christy Lee
Your shower or your bed?
Bob Kevoian
And the answer is the bed.
Christy Lee
Yeah, I can see that.
Bob Kevoian
I rented a place for my vacation, and the bed was no good and the shower was no good. But I struggled through the bad shower. But the bad bed. No, I missed my sleep number bed. Now, Bob famously used to carry with him.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Shower head. Remember what brand it was?
Tom Griswold
Speakman.
Bob Kevoian
The Speakman.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
He would take plumber's tape and a shower head and a wrench. I'm not kidding.
Christy Lee
I know.
Bob Kevoian
And he would get to a hotel, he would switch it out. Switch it out, put in his proper shower head. I wish I had done that in my recent vacation. But the bed. You can't carry a bed with you.
Christy Lee
That's true.
Bob Kevoian
Well, that'd be something if they come up with a portable Sleep number bed. How come you have two suitcases? My bed's in there. But they can't. So get a great bed for your home.
Tom Griswold
Hey, a couple nights. A couple nights ago. We love sleep number and sleepnumber.com is now available on your computer. A couple nights ago, the White Sox hosted the Reds for Pope night.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Remember this? They all had my Pope heads.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I forgot. A sister threw out the first pitch.
Al Jackson
Oh, really?
Tom Griswold
And wait till you get a load of how she throws out the first pitch. There she is.
Josh Arnold
She's a little habit.
Tom Griswold
She's holding the glove properly.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Did she just do a sign of the cross?
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Producer/Engineer
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
She's towing the rubber. Is she on the second prayer, did a big man.
Pat Godwin
Is she.
Christy Lee
Oh, she's. She is.
Pat Godwin
Whoa.
Christy Lee
Boom, man.
Tom Griswold
Strike.
Josh Arnold
That's great.
Tom Griswold
There you go.
Bob Kevoian
She's got the habit on.
Christy Lee
And she was on the mound. She wasn't in front like when I did it.
Pat Godwin
She looks like Rosie o' Donnell a little bit. Yes.
Josh Arnold
She did a little.
Pat Godwin
Right?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
That is. Sister Mary Jo, is that. Is that the home on Pope hat night?
Bob Kevoian
Is that the home habit or the away habit? Yes, the white.
Christy Lee
That's home.
Bob Kevoian
Do they wear white? The white habit at home. Okay.
Christy Lee
Black when they're away.
Bob Kevoian
And we asked this question.
Tom Griswold
I think those sneakers she's wearing, too.
Christy Lee
We see that.
Bob Kevoian
Well, the origin of this, obviously, is the current Pope is a White Sox fan.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And grew up in that area. And the question became. Because they had, like, these sort of miters they were giving people. And as someone pointed out. That's right. Until the game starts, you can't see because the guy in front of me has a miter on. But could they do this to other religions without causing a lot of problems?
Christy Lee
Right.
Josh Arnold
I think if they just met with the correct authorities in those religions, then they could figure something out.
Bob Kevoian
You know, yarmulke night at Yankee Stadium?
Josh Arnold
Who knows?
Tom Griswold
I think there would probably be a couple.
Bob Kevoian
I knew. I went to college in New York, and I knew there were a number of guys that had yarmulkes that had. Yeah, they're branded team logos.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So, I mean, I guess they've got some degree of a sense of humor about it, but I've got a feeling if there would be certain religious orders that wouldn't be so keen on.
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
Turban night at the Mets game might not go over too well.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I don't know what they.
Bob Kevoian
Although I can be funny or fun or cool. Maybe they could do multi religion, pluralistic, whatever night and have.
Josh Arnold
Well, that's where the problem is.
Bob Kevoian
That's how your war started at a baseball game.
Josh Arnold
No, you don't want to get the gatekeeper and the key master in the same room.
Tom Griswold
You're just asking for trouble.
Bob Kevoian
You got the guys with the miters over here, the guys with the turbines over here, the guys with the yarmulkes over here. I think it's gonna be a fun party. Okay, well, that's the problem with our world. Everyone's too itchy. Itching to fight.
Pat Godwin
Well.
Christy Lee
Well, that was sweet, Sister Mary Jo. You said Mary Jo? Loved it.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, coming up, a really cool story from the world of classic rock. A real, real positive story. And then I. I had an adventure yesterday.
Josh Arnold
You did?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I'll do the short version. I. I went home to. I had a meeting, and I went home to my house to. I got a new puppy. As you know, got to make sure the puppy's okay.
Tom Griswold
His name is Bernie.
Bob Kevoian
Bernie. As in. As in. As in Bernie's mountain dog.
Commercial Announcer
Mm.
Tom Griswold
He's cute.
Bob Kevoian
And he's a nice little guy. Real smart. He's only had a couple of accidents, so pretty good little guy. Anyway, and I timed it just so I could get to my Pilates class right. At a. Just time. Just right. But you know that scene in a movie where you. You go, well, it's not raining. I think I'll try to get home just before it starts. You know, just before I literally pull into my garage. I'm gonna go take them out. The second I pull in, cloud burst, so. Okay, great. So then we got to deal with that. And I take him for a quick spin, get soaked, get in my car, and I make a left turn, and there's a gigantic tree blocking the road. So now I've got to turn around, so I'm going to be late. So I get there. It's. It's raining like crazy, just. And I don't have my umbrella, so. Okay. So I take that windshield thing, that.
Christy Lee
That sunshield.
Bob Kevoian
That foil. Sunshield.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And I said, what I'm going to do is. I mean, it's pouring rain.
Tom Griswold
Here's what I'm gonna do.
Bob Kevoian
I'm gonna. I'm gonna put that over my head, and then that'll. So I won't be completely soaked. So I do that. Get out of the car, and the wind blows just right. My gym shorts into a puddle.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that. Did you just go right back home?
Tom Griswold
No. Wow.
Josh Arnold
He stuck to it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. So I. I did Pilates in my jeans. Well, unfortunately, they're all cotton baggage. And by the way, they were soaking wet. My shoes were soaked.
Tom Griswold
You go to any gym in the United States, walk in if there's a guy working out in jeans. Don't. Don't bother him. He's cool. Because you go over there, he'll be bench pressing 375 in jeans. That's not my.
Bob Kevoian
Not in my case. That is not it.
Tom Griswold
No, it's happening.
Producer/Engineer
Of course.
Josh Arnold
Well, good for you for sticking to it. I would have bailed.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my God. Yes.
Josh Arnold
Any little excuse.
Bob Kevoian
I was soaked. Yeah, man.
Christy Lee
I got mine in right before that.
Bob Kevoian
Check local listings.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Now we have Dear Bob and Top Show. Hello, Josh. I just read about the urchin fishing lure.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Tom Griswold
On the Wall Street Journal. I wanted to get your thoughts on the new bait as the resident Bob and Tom fisherman slash angler. Have you tried one of the urchin lures? Do you recommend using one maybe in a fishing tournament with family or friends? That's Luke.
Josh Arnold
And here's a picture I do recommend.
Tom Griswold
Look at that thing.
Christy Lee
Look at that.
Josh Arnold
Some of the uni will say maybe. It might set you back about 14, 15 bucks. Maybe.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe. And this is a new thing?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it's newish in America. They've been in Japan for a while.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, it looks like a starburst, kind of.
Josh Arnold
They bite the hell out of them.
Pat Godwin
Is that one of your top water lures there?
Josh Arnold
No, no. It sinks, goes down, and you kind of throw it like a wacky worm.
Pat Godwin
Right.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, I have mine. I have a new one hooked up to a frog Hook. Because they will stay. The lore stays on the hook. Better that way.
Christy Lee
I bet the bastard one. What the hell is that thing?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Not like a native, right?
Josh Arnold
You know, they just kind of assume it's something they eat.
Tom Griswold
Ever go gigging for frogs?
Josh Arnold
No.
Tom Griswold
Frog gigging.
Josh Arnold
I don't think I could just freeze a frog with my flashlight and then just stab it.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What about the thing where you stick your sport.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Bob Kevoian
You stick your arm in the hole.
Josh Arnold
I haven't noodled either.
Bob Kevoian
No, that's where the, the. What is it? Catfish.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And your arm comes all out, all bloody and.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Are there other things. Are there ever other things in those holes?
Pat Godwin
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
I mean, turtles probably. Snakes probably.
Tom Griswold
There's all kinds of holes in the earth with stuff in them.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. I mean, you kind of don't know where you're. What you're reaching into.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Speaking of the world of science, we had a solar. Had a solar eclipse.
Christy Lee
We sure did.
Tom Griswold
Where was Spain? Where the hell was it? We didn't see it here. But I've got video for you of the solar eclipse from a couple of days ago. There's a guy on the street with his bald head. He's looking around and you'll see the moon come across.
Josh Arnold
Amazing. That is a white guy with a
Bob Kevoian
bald head, a huge ball and a black dude. Dude steps in front of me.
Josh Arnold
Equally bald head steps.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Can we make sure that that's posted at bob and tom.com? thank you very much.
Tom Griswold
The solar eclipse just for you guys.
Bob Kevoian
Mailbag.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom show. My elderly sister in law asked if she need anything for a CVS run. She said, well, pointing to her ears. Then finally was frustrated, said I need some of those ear dusters.
Christy Lee
Oh, qtips.
Bob Kevoian
She met Q tips. That's comes to us from the czar. This brings up a good time in Texas.
Josh Arnold
The czar.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
This guy's last name is spelled. The first four letters are Czar.
Josh Arnold
Nice. The czar.
Tom Griswold
Q tip's not fooling anybody. I don't care what they put on the box.
Josh Arnold
Exactly.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
You put the Q tip in your ear.
Pat Godwin
Damn.
Tom Griswold
Right in the canal. And try to get it as deep as you possibly can.
Christy Lee
Pushes the wax back.
Josh Arnold
Somebody sued. But what they should put on the box is, hey, some idiot jammed this in too far.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Josh Arnold
We know these are for ears. Just be careful.
Bob Kevoian
And I've gone on a record of saying this. I've stayed in some very nice hotels in my life and they always have their, their, their Non Q tip brand Q tips. No good.
Josh Arnold
You're exactly right.
Bob Kevoian
They're like toothpicks.
Tom Griswold
Non Band Aid brand band Aids.
Bob Kevoian
Same thing. I don't know who makes Q tips. It was a. Who is that Johnson?
Pat Godwin
I think it's Johnson and Johnson Q tip people.
Bob Kevoian
Whoever it is, bravo.
Josh Arnold
In fact, they've nailed it.
Bob Kevoian
I got one right here.
Josh Arnold
There is no comparable generic.
Pat Godwin
Nope. The gym has the right Q tips.
Christy Lee
Ah, nice.
Bob Kevoian
Got the Q tip. Do they make like extra large Q tips?
Josh Arnold
Oh yeah. Remember the old flu test or COVID test Q tips? Oh yeah, those.
Bob Kevoian
Can you buy those at the.
Tom Griswold
You need a longer handle or a bigger swab.
Josh Arnold
What do you want me?
Bob Kevoian
What end the whole thing? I want the whole thing. I think like the size of a pencil.
Josh Arnold
You want like a jousting stick?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
You don't want like a boxing glove on the end of it. What are you.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, we're willing to become the official Q tip radio station if they. If they're interested. My heart is with.
Tom Griswold
We'll have a Q tip for you
Christy Lee
every day for a shower.
Bob Kevoian
I'm a huge shower. Okay. Do you have another letter?
Christy Lee
I have one.
Tom Griswold
There you go. Chrissy.
Christy Lee
When I was in the navy we used to buy blow up dolls in ports. Put them in the guys racks or they would just be hanging out in a shop waiting for someone important when they walked in. It was always a good gag. Funny because yesterday you brought up the fact that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, we had a. That survey of what state is buying the most adult toys and one of them was a military base where they were buying a bunch of dolls. We figured it's probably what a great gag that would be.
Christy Lee
So thank you Walt for informing us on that.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, Chickster, what do you got over there?
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob at Tom show. We were talking a couple days ago about vehicles and trying to transport like piling up with a small sedan mattresses. And
Bob Kevoian
Jeff, Oskar's dad, was transporting a mast on a sailboat lashed to the side of his car, sticking out many feet in both front and the back.
Tom Griswold
And he said, yeah, let's go, let's go for it.
Christy Lee
They put the little flags on it.
Bob Kevoian
At least I'm sure he did. He's an engineer, he's a smart, smart man. But it probably violated some law. But I don't think he got pulled over. If he did, he'd blame Jeff.
Tom Griswold
This is Justin in Lexington, Kentucky. We're talking about the ways people transport items in their vehicles. I took a picture of this guy last year hauling pallets through his back windshield and a bicycle on top of. Blew my mind when I saw it and sent it to everyone I knew.
Bob Kevoian
Why would he be.
Tom Griswold
And it's like a Nissan or.
Bob Kevoian
What is that?
Christy Lee
That's not a convertible.
Pat Godwin
It does look like a Nissan.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's an Altima. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Why would he be hauling pallets in a car?
Tom Griswold
I don't know, brother. I don't know. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
All right. That's what it is. The bicycle way up onto. Oh, and then he's got the. A bunch of hunks of wood in the back of the. He's making something, probably a bonfire, I'm guessing out of those things, which don't. Aren't those toxic? Don't they have a net treated wood?
Tom Griswold
Are they?
Bob Kevoian
When you burn that, you huff it and you get high.
Christy Lee
What?
Bob Kevoian
In the 1980s, writes Joel, my girlfriend had a Nissan Pulsar, a tiny coupe with a tiny trunk. I was gifted an antique dentist chair. I thought it'd be a good idea to give it to my father, who lived two hours away. The 350 pound chair required me to remove the trunk lid and running ropes through the car's windows to secure the chair from falling out of the trunk. We made it there. The paint on her car was ruined by the rubbing ropes and the metal chair rubbing on the metal body. My dad loved the gift. My wife forgave me because we're still married. Thank you, Joel. That's a nice, nice transport story. What's coming up in the world of sports?
Tom Griswold
The Lakers have been sold again. Apparently they were wanting to start a franchise in Vegas, but they said, hey, wait a minute, we could buy the Lakers. Sold. Russell Westbrook has retired. No one cares. Deshaun Watson will be starting for the Cleveland Browns in their first exhibition game six on tap for tonight in the NFL.
Bob Kevoian
He's not playing for a prison team.
Tom Griswold
And wnba, Dallas, Minnesota and Golden State win last night. More sports coming up.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much. Everybody's talking about weight loss these days. All kinds of injectables and pills, et cetera, et cetera. The physicians at Brick House Nutrition have been working for years and they've developed something called Lean. It is not an injection. Lean is a weight loss supplement. Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios at the news desk. It's Christy Lee.
Christy Lee
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Hello there. There's Pat Godwin.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh Arnold.
Pat Godwin
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Aloo. I'm Chick. And hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Chick McGee.
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob and Tom show, this email says hello there. Oh, old school started, right?
Bob Kevoian
It says. It says. You mean hello, dear.
Al Jackson
Hello there.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, this is from Randall.
Bob Kevoian
Hello there.
Tom Griswold
Tuesday night, my wife and I went to the Field of dreams to watch the St. Paul Saints play the Iowa Cubs. The Saints have a pitcher. This is minor leagues. He's from Korea.
Josh Arnold
And young Asale.
Tom Griswold
And his name is Woo. Suck Go.
Christy Lee
Oh, don't.
Tom Griswold
You folks wouldn't like this.
Bob Kevoian
And you just said hello in Korean.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Tom Griswold
What is it?
Josh Arnold
And young as Alex.
Tom Griswold
Huh? A younger sale and young haseo.
Pat Godwin
That's a lot for hello.
Josh Arnold
That is a lot for hello and younger sale.
Tom Griswold
But don't they go, hey, they have a short.
Josh Arnold
Sometimes people go, what would be
Tom Griswold
the, what would be the equivalent of them going, oh, hey, man, what I just did.
Josh Arnold
So really? No, no. Sometimes. So if somebody, if I came in and said a young sao. And somebody just went.
Christy Lee
So
Tom Griswold
kind of sounds like Norm walking into Cheers.
Bob Kevoian
Is there a difference in the accent of North Koreans and South Koreans? Can someone from South Korea tell if Someone's from the other side a little bit.
Josh Arnold
If they especially there are differences in the written language as well, so some slight differences. So I think they can probably a.
Bob Kevoian
Fewer words for food in North Korea.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, probably. And freedom and. Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Sorry.
Tom Griswold
Phil. Phil's and twins tonight in Dyersville, the field Dreams Game 7, 31st pitch on Netflix. And Kevin Costner is rumored to be around there tonight. Don't forget the broadcast.
Bob Kevoian
Don't forget a Field of Dreams bourbon made by a friend of ours.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Drew Storn. And it's very tasty.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. In honor of the Field of Dreams. That's a cool story. Now, speaking of baseball, we had Pope night, which you mentioned.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
And this is not something we made up. You can see photographs of this at the White Sox game.
Tom Griswold
And it was White Sox reds a couple of nights ago.
Bob Kevoian
Or the. They were passing out miters. Were they cardboard? What was the.
Christy Lee
They had to have been, I would think.
Bob Kevoian
But. And I guess I assume nobody's upset about this. They understand that the. The actual current Pope is a White Sox.
Christy Lee
Yes. And I think that everybody understands that he's got a good sense of humor and would have been fine.
Bob Kevoian
But my idea is to do a multi religious night.
Christy Lee
Yes. That is not a good idea.
Tom Griswold
No.
Pat Godwin
Why not?
Tom Griswold
No, not a good idea.
Bob Kevoian
So we live in a people.
Josh Arnold
It already kind of is, though. That's the thing. Anybody of any religion can go to a ball game. It's not.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So you could have a section with your Sikhs, with the turbines.
Josh Arnold
Well, now, so you want them separate in the ball game
Bob Kevoian
because you've got those snake handlers. I'm not sitting with them.
Tom Griswold
You know what you are.
Bob Kevoian
I want the snake handlers. They got to have their own section.
Tom Griswold
You're an agitator. That's what you are.
Josh Arnold
The snake handlers. Maybe we will give them the bleachers.
Bob Kevoian
And I have a whole theory that you guys have pooh, poohed about headgear and religious figures over the years. I think they all wear headgear because I think. For example, my guess is the miter was probably because they had some really short popes and they wanted to be able to stand out. So this heat, they said to, you know, their. Their hatter. What do you call a hat guy? Milliner. Milliner.
Josh Arnold
Milliner.
Bob Kevoian
And said to the milliner, hey, look, Leo's kind of short. Can you give him a little bit of a boost? Some high heels and a hat. I find it hard to believe. Absolutely.
Al Jackson
And then.
Bob Kevoian
But I think, I mean, everywhere Every religion's got. I think it's because the old guys, they're going bald and they're feeling, you know, less godlike. So give the guy a skullcap.
Josh Arnold
Some religions, if you would. If I thought you took even a cursory thumbing through anything at all. There's a reason you cover your head. So there's.
Bob Kevoian
I think it's because guys went bald.
Tom Griswold
No, it's out of some sort of respect. Never mind.
Bob Kevoian
You see, you're buy. You're buying it. You're buying into that.
Josh Arnold
Here's the thing. Historically, things like what Tom is talking about have happened. Sure. So I kind of do see where you're coming.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, I wonder if there's a religion where everybody shaves their head. I guess that would be some of the monks, right?
Pat Godwin
Geez, the Krishnas.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Is that a religion or is that a cult?
Pat Godwin
I think a religion.
Bob Kevoian
I guess there's. There's no differences there.
Josh Arnold
That's be.
Christy Lee
Well, now, wait a minute.
Tom Griswold
Oh, there's a lot of mainstream religions. You can make the argument that seems like a cult. Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Crazy religions out there.
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob and Tom show.
Bob Kevoian
Sorry, just trying to.
Tom Griswold
I've been shot.
Josh Arnold
We know you're a rascal.
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob and Tom Show. This is Joe from Scott City, Kansas. I've been shot before.
Josh Arnold
What?
Tom Griswold
And it didn't hurt until I got it treated. I heard you talking to Josh a couple of mornings ago and can tell you guys that it does hurt when you get shot, just not when you're two feet from the gun barrel when it goes off. I got shot by accident.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, man, I hope so.
Tom Griswold
And then he goes. Let me tell you something. It was anything but funny.
Josh Arnold
Oh yeah, I guarantee.
Christy Lee
What was the. I missed this.
Tom Griswold
Love. You guys keep being legendary. Yeah. Jeff Osuke and Josh and I were talking about how. I wonder how it feels.
Christy Lee
Oh, to be shot.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Saying something about. Boy, it. It's gotta be because some people would.
Tom Griswold
Oh man, my. My back hurts. It feels like I've gotten shot. I bet people who've gotten shot don't say that.
Bob Kevoian
Remember the guy that did it as an art piece?
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Do you remember this? There was he.
Christy Lee
The guy that had the phone books in front of him or.
Bob Kevoian
No, no, that was an idiot that got killed by thinking the phone books could stop the bullet. No, this was a. This was a guy. This was a long time ago. He. Yeah, it's like standing in front of a Volkswagen or something and he had someone deliberately shoot him. Something like a.22 as part of A performance art piece.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, buddy, you can't paint. You just want to hang around with a bunch of Archie fartsy guys. So you're gonna get yourself shot. Good idea.
Josh Arnold
Well, that must have been quite the sweepstakes of. Hey, you get to shoot a performance artist. There must have been 50,000 entries.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Producer/Engineer
Can I.
Bob Kevoian
Do you mind if I aim right for the head? Well, thank you very much. I'm sorry. Did you have something you wanted to do?
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob and Topshell, my wife called me from work one afternoon. This is from Arthur.
Josh Arnold
My wife calls me from work.
Tom Griswold
She asked me who the hell was that blonde was riding with me that morning on your way to work? It was our golden retriever. Her name was Thunder. And she was sitting up in the passenger side of our Fiero. Who the hell is that woman?
Bob Kevoian
You're drawn to a Fiero.
Tom Griswold
Fiero.
Christy Lee
Oh, boy.
Tom Griswold
Dog in the front seat.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, those are. We. We had one. We gave one away in the year back in the day. That's the car that had the mid engine, Right.
Christy Lee
Little tiny Pontiac.
Bob Kevoian
And am I correct in saying there's a guy in this town that collects those there?
Christy Lee
I related to them. They collect Fieros. Yes, but that. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
How many?
Christy Lee
Yeah, they live real close to you, actually.
Bob Kevoian
They two seaters.
Christy Lee
They live real close to you.
Bob Kevoian
No, but I mean, I'm trying to.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Is a two seater and it was a Pontiac.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
They didn't make them very long, did they?
Christy Lee
No, they did not.
Tom Griswold
No, they were very short.
Josh Arnold
Short car.
Tom Griswold
They make a longer one.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe he's paying me back for the fishing joke.
Tom Griswold
If they made a longer Fiero, that would be a.
Christy Lee
That would be a Sedan Figuerillo.
Josh Arnold
Those collectors here in town really collect them too. Yeah, they even have Geraldine.
Al Jackson
Oh,
Josh Arnold
you go over there and she's just sitting there.
Tom Griswold
Geraldine.
Josh Arnold
I once ran for Buzz Pro.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I thought you meant the Flip Wilson.
Pat Godwin
Geraldine.
Bob Kevoian
I was going.
Pat Godwin
What happened?
Bob Kevoian
How do I not get this?
Tom Griswold
The devil made me do it.
Bob Kevoian
Underrated Geraldine Ferrero. No, no, Geraldine Ferrero's related.
Christy Lee
Right.
Tom Griswold
Where she no Flip telling the jokes on. If you haven't seen Flip Wilson tell a joke, and I don't know how
Bob Kevoian
YouTube it today, he's been erased. I. He was really funny.
Christy Lee
He was funny. Did he do something bad? I don't know.
Pat Godwin
I don't think so.
Josh Arnold
I told you guys and I guess it's uncomfortable and you don't want to talk about it, but every time this comes up, I tell you off the air.
Christy Lee
Oh, okay. We always forget and we put it
Tom Griswold
out of our minds because we love Flip so much.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, you know, O.J. was funny in a movie. I didn't know he was a murderer. He was pretty good. And never mind.
Josh Arnold
Flip Wilson didn't do anything bad, by the way.
Bob Kevoian
Okay?
Josh Arnold
It's nothing like that.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, good. I thought he was very funny.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Did he get. Never mind. Zip it.
Josh Arnold
Black culture doesn't like cross dressing. That's what it is.
Christy Lee
Really?
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Well, what about. What about his name?
Christy Lee
Tyler Perry.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. And then ask a bunch of black people how they feel about it.
Christy Lee
Oh, really?
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
That's interesting.
Pat Godwin
Even Martin Lawrence today. He's gone now. Martin Lawrence.
Josh Arnold
And this comes from black comedians who have been in here.
Al Jackson
Huh?
Christy Lee
I had no idea who also told
Josh Arnold
us this when it came up.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I thought he was funny.
Josh Arnold
Sorry.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Well, we have an update on the badminton international tournament coming up.
Tom Griswold
Is it badminton or bad Mitt?
Josh Arnold
I think it's spelled Minton, isn't it?
Tom Griswold
And we say badminton.
Christy Lee
We always say badminton.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, we do.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
I've always thought it was badminton.
Christy Lee
Well, that's probably right, because you're walking.
Josh Arnold
It is spelled badminton.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, but I know what you are.
Tom Griswold
You're walking. Weekend at high ends.
Bob Kevoian
I just want to know. I want to know if anybody out there is listening. Is betting on the forthcoming badminton tournament.
Tom Griswold
Badminton. There you go.
Josh Arnold
By the way, black culture has no problem with badminton.
Tom Griswold
No,
Pat Godwin
because bad is good.
Bob Kevoian
We have a. See, this is called the teaser path. The idea here is people aren't going to change the channel because they want to know about badminton. And I realized no one gives a flying F about badminton.
Tom Griswold
This is one of those mornings.
Pat Godwin
Bad mitten. That's how it's pronounced.
Josh Arnold
But it's spelled badminton.
Pat Godwin
Exactly.
Bob Kevoian
Oh. So what happened to that other end?
Christy Lee
Well, they dropped it.
Josh Arnold
It's like February.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, or liberry.
Josh Arnold
Or Halle Berry.
Pat Godwin
Well.
Josh Arnold
Or Wednesday.
Bob Kevoian
That's P as in pneumonia. We're coming right Back to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. I love those guys.
Tom Griswold
No one likes you.

Tom Griswold
Oh, I know. There's Josh Arnold, Attitude. There was an incident. There was an incident off. Off the air.
Al Jackson
Oh, yeah. You have two.
Josh Arnold
Two guys in here complaining and it was right next to me. I have a fresh. A fresh dish of toast and smoked salmon.
Bob Kevoian
We're letting you chaw down over there. Just mind your own business. I like I'm enjoying bitching about a construction project that's been four and a half years ruining my life on the freeway.
Tom Griswold
And damn progress.
Josh Arnold
What you two were complaining about, I find to be fantastic. I'm so happy about the change.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. Four and a half years I lived
Josh Arnold
right next to it.
Tom Griswold
Hey, hey, hey, hey.

Well, dad, gum. Consider me educated.
Bob Kevoian
Had no idea.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Christy Lee
All right.
Bob Kevoian
We can. We can move forward.
Josh Arnold
By the way, would anybody like some?
Christy Lee
No, thank you.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
A little bit early.
Christy Lee
Very nice.
Pat Godwin
Is that wild coat?
Tom Griswold
You know what I find salmon too.
Christy Lee
Salmon, lox and bagels. Are you. Where have you.
Bob Kevoian
Too fishy here.
Josh Arnold
Can Pat and I also. I did have a bit of an attitude. He and I will recreate a scene we'll call green room chatter.
Bob Kevoian
A little pre.
Josh Arnold
You be me and I'll be you.
Pat Godwin
We both have talked before about the best smoked salmon is, of course, the wild caught.
Josh Arnold
Well, so. So you. You come enter Pat.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Josh.
Josh Arnold
Hey, Josh. No, I'm. I'm you and you're me.
Pat Godwin
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Producer/Engineer
Oh.
Josh Arnold
What do you got there? Some smoked salmon.
Pat Godwin
Let me check. Jesus.
Josh Arnold
You jumped. You jumped the gun. Yes, it was. I go, yeah, yeah. And I. Cause I wanted to say no. It's a bowl of cereal.
Christy Lee
Obviously. Yes.
Tom Griswold
For those of you who think behind the scenes, what you think it is. It's exactly.
Josh Arnold
But I thought, why would I have an attitude? She's just asking a question. And then you said, is it wild caught? And that's when I said you were
Pat Godwin
annoyed you had to make one move.
Josh Arnold
Look at the COVID of it.
Pat Godwin
To answer one question.
Tom Griswold
Let me look.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, so I'm confused. So it's a salmon cereal.
Christy Lee
Oh, my God.
Josh Arnold
Yes. It's not doing well, but I'm. I'm holding out.
Tom Griswold
Hey, is it time for sports?
Bob Kevoian
Not really.
Tom Griswold
Okie doke.
Bob Kevoian
We have a bunch of other things we have to get to. I think maybe we should perhaps start with that cool rock and roll story. Do we have the video for that?
Christy Lee
81 year old Richie Blackmore walked on stage with Deep Purple at the Northwell Jones beach theater in Wanton, New York.
Tom Griswold
Love the Jones Beach.
Christy Lee
It was Blackmore's first performance with Deep Purple since 1993. 33 years ago.
Josh Arnold
My gosh.
Christy Lee
He came out for the encore and played Smoke on the Water, including the famous riff he created more than a half a century ago.
Bob Kevoian
I would argue that that is top five riffs in rock history.
Tom Griswold
Well, now you're opening up your mouth and you're going to start something.
Josh Arnold
That's a pretty good.
Bob Kevoian
I think that that is as the Smoke in the Water. Great song, terrific riff.
Josh Arnold
I'm with you, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
There's a video floating or this happened last night. There's a video here.
Josh Arnold
You think that's a dye job?
Tom Griswold
The cool part. Look at the drummer trying to elbow his way in there.
Bob Kevoian
The best part of this is the bass doesn't come in for a while. Just like bass player is just shaking his guitar, getting ready to come in.
Tom Griswold
I like, I like. The bass is turned up on this whole thing. I like that.
Bob Kevoian
Wait a minute. Bass player. The bass player is going to hit those strings and a second.
Christy Lee
I love it.
Tom Griswold
There it is.
Bob Kevoian
We go. Oh, that's the best. Yes, it is. And you know when you see Richie playing it, it's. It's a lot more complicated than you hear the guy at the guitar store playing it.
Josh Arnold
You're right.
Bob Kevoian
Very cool. And now he. Then Richie switches to the lead, but that's the first time he's played with him in 33 years. Oh, that's good. He. And what is. What is it? Ian Gillian.
Christy Lee
Yes, Ace.
Bob Kevoian
Is that a. They have been arguing for years, but Richie walks out, says a quick hello to they have a nice exchange.
Christy Lee
And this wasn't completely spontaneous, though. Tom Blackmore teased the appearance beforehand on Instagram, joking it was a quote unquote secret, saying he'd probably get up for the encore. He also warned fans he hadn't really played rock music in about 25 years. Most of his recent career has been devoted to the Renaissance folk rock group Blackmore's Night. I'm not familiar with their work him and his wife. He and his wife. Oh, okay.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. That sounds like some girls made it
Pat Godwin
a lot of fun.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. I'm doing Renaissance rock now. I'm pretty excited about.
Josh Arnold
They're doing, like, madrigals.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Like this.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
It's the safety dance.
Bob Kevoian
Check out the video. It is really cool.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And. And you. And you. Nobody can play it like you. He can't.
Christy Lee
Nope.
Bob Kevoian
It would be great if the. I wonder if they'll maybe do a special and he'll do a couple more tunes with them or something. Just some fun. One of the. One of the great riffs. And would you agree with me? That's certainly top five.
Josh Arnold
I do.
Tom Griswold
The only other one that jumps up is the. The start of Layla, probably.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that'd be a good. I'm sure there's a list out there.
Tom Griswold
So that's. That's an argument starter, maybe.
Josh Arnold
Top five. Base drive.
Christy Lee
I agree, too.
Bob Kevoian
That is just a great arrangement and a terrific song. That's the famous song about the. The studio burning down in Montreux and.
Tom Griswold
We don't need this.
Bob Kevoian
Frank Zappa.
Tom Griswold
We don't need this.
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean?
Tom Griswold
We don't need you telling us about that. I just want to make sure we enjoy the music.
Bob Kevoian
I just want to mention Frank Zappa, you dick. And. And I.
Tom Griswold
And I knew that was coming, so I said, give me.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that's a good one.
Al Jackson
Come on.
Josh Arnold
That 25.
Bob Kevoian
But I'm. I'd say if you're at a guitar
Pat Godwin
shop, you're more likely to hear it all the time.
Bob Kevoian
You're more likely to hear Deep Purple than this. This is a little trickier, I think.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, just a little tricky.
Bob Kevoian
You got Dwayne and.
Tom Griswold
Dwayne and Eric. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
But a cool moment for Richie Blackmore. Nice, positive thing. It's always great to see guys that have been arguing for a long time get together. Like, someday Chick and I'll shake hands and look each other in the eye and I'll go, hey, thanks. I miss you.
Tom Griswold
Plainly. Remember when the Beatles broke up when I was a kid, and I thought, how could guys like that get together for nine or 10 years and do that and great music? And then they just can't stand being. I don't understand that they can't be in the same room.
Christy Lee
And now.
Bob Kevoian
I get it now.
Tom Griswold
Totally.
Josh Arnold
How were they really? Were the Beatles really only together for nine or ten years?
Pat Godwin
Nine years old.
Bob Kevoian
They were very good.
Josh Arnold
You know, it's so insane to think about.
Bob Kevoian
And Paul and John, they still got along there's the famous story. They were going to go down and do Saturday Night Live. They were just going to walk in, walk into the studio and.
Christy Lee
Really?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. And I forget something came up and they didn't.
Christy Lee
They got shot.
Bob Kevoian
They were sitting there. Well, thank you.
Josh Arnold
Not that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. There goes the reason.
Tom Griswold
And you know who shot.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know how to tell the story.
Al Jackson
No.
Tom Griswold
Lord, Michael said, he's not walking on my phone. No, he's not coming in. No. Oh, you want to come in?
Bob Kevoian
No, I'm trying to. Wasn't there a famous incident in which they showed up to do the John. To walk onto Johnny Carson and Joe Garagiola? He was the host that night, the guest host.
Tom Griswold
Oh, what do you got against Joe Garrigio?
Josh Arnold
It's just not Carson.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, they were upset, too.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, there's Johnny and then Joe was an affable. Was he a baseball catcher?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
We don't even get prior or. Joan
Pat Godwin
stumbled in the interview. He really stumbled.
Tom Griswold
It wasn't his feature for the Cardinals.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, but it wasn't, you know, he wasn't his right sphere.
Pat Godwin
Paul came on later with Johnny and was still whining about it. Brought it up. Yeah. In that interview.
Bob Kevoian
Now, if it had been Bob Euchre, that would have been. He would have been.
Christy Lee
No, you just liked Bob.
Josh Arnold
Well, there is more personality there.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Gary Joel had some, but, yeah, they
Bob Kevoian
want, you know, Johnny was the man,
Christy Lee
so I wonder how he got that gig.
Bob Kevoian
He was an affable Garagiola. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. But DeCardova was drunk and say, next time we're having you guys.
Tom Griswold
He was a base. NBC's baseball game of the week on Saturday.
Christy Lee
Okay, there you go.
Tom Griswold
Didn't get any more popular than that.
Christy Lee
I get it now.
Bob Kevoian
And now coming up in sports, the
Tom Griswold
Lakers have been sold again. It's starting to be like I just found. Didn't they just sell these guys a couple of months ago? Well, they've sold them again, apparently a tidy profit. And they made some bucks. Yeah. And other things. Parents. Russell Westbrook is retired, so the lights will dim on Broadway tonight, I can tell you that.
Bob Kevoian
I see. Coming up in the world of news. Christy, what do you got over there?
Christy Lee
Coming up, we have other music news today. Anthony Hopkins has an album coming out.
Tom Griswold
Tony. Yes, I call him Tony.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, parenthetically, quickly, Rod Stewart's okay. He had a stomach pumping. No, no, thank you.
Tom Griswold
How do you know he's okay? Did you talk to Rod this morning? You make it sound like you talked to us.
Josh Arnold
Didn't ran.
Bob Kevoian
You know, there's something called a news wire. We call it.
Tom Griswold
No, it's not a wire at all. It hasn't been a wire since, I don't know, the teens. The other teens.
Bob Kevoian
It has information on it, some of which is true. And Rod had to cancel some shows. He's doing okay. I'd have a stent put in. You should know about that. Do you even know how many stents you have in your heart?
Al Jackson
No.
Bob Kevoian
Or whatever you're plumbing in there.
Tom Griswold
I'm gonna say seven.
Josh Arnold
Oh, all right.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Do they go in and take the old ones out?
Tom Griswold
No, as a matter of fact, one artery has two stands.
Bob Kevoian
Is there a stent inside the stent?
Tom Griswold
No, there's a stent and then artery and then more stunt. Yeah, more stuff.
Bob Kevoian
Wow. Did they use.
Tom Griswold
Sounds safe, right?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I mean, whatever it takes.
Christy Lee
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
This was.
Josh Arnold
Don't listen. Old cow heart over here.
Christy Lee
Yeah. What are you talking about?
Tom Griswold
Dude, he's on some sort of. Internal organs are so much better than mine.
Christy Lee
Well, are you.
Tom Griswold
Your heart is half cow.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, you look, you illiterate buffoons.
Tom Griswold
Good God.
Bob Kevoian
I have a heart valve made of cow tissue.
Pat Godwin
Oh, that's different.
Bob Kevoian
It's not a cow.
Tom Griswold
It's half cow. In my book, it's cow.
Christy Lee
How can you make it out of cow tissue and not be.
Bob Kevoian
Ask the geniuses that are the physicians and scientists that developed it.
Pat Godwin
It's like cow baloney. Give them a sal.
Bob Kevoian
Give them a big thank you.
Tom Griswold
I'm sure they had that before they put it.
Bob Kevoian
Pat, who has the bionic arm?
Tom Griswold
Josh.
Bob Kevoian
Other than the erector set in your groin, everything else in your body normal.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, everything else is good. Beside.
Bob Kevoian
Now, is that thing electric? How does that work?
Josh Arnold
Is there a pump? It's. No, no. I'm saving up for the electric.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it's still manual.
Bob Kevoian
It's acoustic. You shout out. You shout harder, damn it.
Tom Griswold
You want to go with the USBC charger? That's what you want.
Josh Arnold
They have a clapper version, too. I'm really looking forward. Oh, you want to go on?
Bob Kevoian
Did you see how he's looking around?
Tom Griswold
He has seven stance.
Josh Arnold
We're getting.
Tom Griswold
His heart is half wild animal.
Christy Lee
Cows aren't wild.
Tom Griswold
Yes, they are something.
Bob Kevoian
I just like the fact that when Josh gets ready for action, the lady's applauding. Well, look at that. Isn't that a knife?
Josh Arnold
Oh, no. I I Encore.
Bob Kevoian
It's like the clapper on a different. On a different topic.
Tom Griswold
Would you move ahead with the show, please.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, this is coming from you?
Tom Griswold
Yes,
Pat Godwin
I'm enjoying this.
Tom Griswold
I'm nothing if not professional.
Bob Kevoian
Wait a minute. There's some extra words in that sentence. We'll go forward from here. Hey, you bought anything lately? The answer is, you know, Arthur Godfrey
Tom Griswold
did it the same thing. Same exact way.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, things are getting kind of expensive. One of the weird things going on in the economy is this fact. If you own your home and you've owned it for about five years, it's probably worth a lot more than it was when you bought it for some reason, at least on the market. So what does that mean? It means, well, you can sell your house and use that money for something, or you can just refinance your house and take out some of that equity and use it for, I don't know, maybe paying off those 20% plus credit card debts that you've built up. That's where American Financing comes in. They specialize in many aspects of mortgages, especially refinancing. That's what they're doing a lot of right now. In fact, their average client, at last count is saving an average of 800 bucks a month. And by the way, there is there. Are there, I should say zero upfront fees. What's the best way to put that out there? There are no upfront fees. If you do a refi with American Financing, find out what's going on. Give them a call at 866-889-2611 and see if American Financing can help you out. If this is your situation. I don't know what your situation is, but if it happens to be a one where, if you've owned your house for 10 years, it's probably valued at more than twice what you paid for it and you can get some of that cash without actually selling the house. Find out about refinancing. They're urging you to check in before September because perhaps a rate hike is looming. If you've been following the news. So once again, it's American Financing. Go to american financing.net and please tell them the Bob and Tom show sent you by doing american financing.net bobandtom one more time.

And after interviewing so many dudes during this men's World Cup, I'm so happy to be back with my US Women's national team players.
Bob Kevoian
I know the US Men's National Team has changed how I think about myself,
Josh Arnold
how I think about being an American,
Bob Kevoian
how I think about being on a team.
Christy Lee
It's one year out from that World cup, and we're going to talk about the brightest prospects in U.S. soccer. You ready? I'm ready.
Tom Griswold
Let's do it.
Christy Lee
The U.S. soccer Podcast, presented by Henkel.
Bob Kevoian
Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios.
Josh Arnold
You weren't prepared.
Tom Griswold
I was not. I was looking up the value with the Dallas Cowboys. There's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Pat Godwin.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Godwin.
Tom Griswold
And Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
We're looking up the value of the Dallas Cowboys. You think about making a bid. God. Folding it.
Tom Griswold
Yes. And that. I've decided get them all excited. And I'm.
Al Jackson
I'm out.
Tom Griswold
Liquidate everything. There's Ace Cosby.
Josh Arnold
Howdy.
Tom Griswold
I'm Chick McGee. Hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Chick McGee.
Tom Griswold
Where would you like me to go?
Christy Lee
Our American football team.
Josh Arnold
Teams.
Christy Lee
Never mind. I should never ask this question.
Tom Griswold
No, no, no, let's start a conversation.
Christy Lee
Are American football teams worth more than soccer?
Tom Griswold
Football?
Christy Lee
Over an England?
Bob Kevoian
Don't they think the world's most value. Manchester would be the Manchester United?
Josh Arnold
Gotcha. More international appeal.
Tom Griswold
Well, how about this? Try this on for size. The Dallas Cowboys right now are valued at people who value things.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
They're in charge assigning values. $15.5 billion. What, for the Cowboys?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I don't like the people who assign value.
Tom Griswold
Is that right?
Josh Arnold
What, like oil speculators or what? Well, the speculators say it's going to be 90 gallons. Well, how about we don't listen to them and we just make it whatever we want?
Tom Griswold
We just do our own thing.
Bob Kevoian
Well, yeah, this is what happens at these auctions. It's going to go for 4 million, then it goes for 40.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So it's. It's the marketplace.
Josh Arnold
That's how it works.
Christy Lee
Oh, Manchester united valued at 7.2 billion.
Tom Griswold
Oh, well, there you go.
Bob Kevoian
Now the Lakers went for how much? What's the matter?
Josh Arnold
Oh, he's just getting the story right.
Tom Griswold
You don't have to take me by the hand. Tell me where you want to go
Bob Kevoian
because I Want to talk shuttlecocks?
Josh Arnold
Who doesn't?
Tom Griswold
You don't want to say. The Lakers were bought again by John. I'm sorry. Josh Kushner.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that's tidy.
Josh Arnold
Any relation?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
No, no, no, no.
Josh Arnold
Brother. Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
He's the brother of Jared Gotcha.
Josh Arnold
Gotcha.
Tom Griswold
And Bob Iger.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that guy. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Disney CEO.
Tom Griswold
I'd like to see the Lakers wear Mickey Mouse night or something. That'd be fun.
Christy Lee
Josh Kushner's married to Carly Kloss.
Josh Arnold
Beautiful. Oh, I don't know her.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Only reason they bought them. They bought the team is so they can meet Jack Nicholson.
Tom Griswold
Come on.
Josh Arnold
That's a good reason.
Bob Kevoian
That's the only reason to buy the team.
Tom Griswold
They better hurry.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Don't you. Don't you.
Josh Arnold
That will be a sad.
Bob Kevoian
Don't. Oh, don't.
Josh Arnold
That's never gonna.
Christy Lee
Will it?
Tom Griswold
You looked $12.5 billion. What the Lakers sold for the world
Josh Arnold
will be a little less cool.
Tom Griswold
Lakers valued last year at 10 billion. They purchased that controlling. What was the bus. Family.
Bob Kevoian
I was trying to figure this out yesterday. What did. What did that guy pay for the Lakers? Whatever it was less than a year ago.
Tom Griswold
10 million.
Bob Kevoian
10 billion.
Tom Griswold
10 billion. I'm sorry. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's a tidy profit in a few months.
Josh Arnold
Nice.
Christy Lee
Good for him.
Josh Arnold
How'd that work? Work? Well, it's like flipping a house.
Christy Lee
Yeah, exactly.
Josh Arnold
He put up some Wayne scouting and then left.
Christy Lee
Change the paint.
Bob Kevoian
That's a lot of money that guy could buy. That guy could buy a flesh like made out of human flesh. Oh, fresh.
Tom Griswold
The Dallas Cowboys are worth 15.5 billion. Jerry Jones bought them February 25, 1989. $140 million.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, man.
Tom Griswold
Quite the return.
Josh Arnold
What keeps you from selling?
Tom Griswold
I don't understand.
Josh Arnold
He's got what they call diamond hands.
Bob Kevoian
No. Because he wants to run the team. That's what he lives.
Josh Arnold
Exactly.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, said it before. I'll say it again. You think he's a good general manager? How many other NFL teams would have Jerry Jones as their general manager? Here's the list.
Bob Kevoian
Thanks for reading all of them.
Tom Griswold
Thank you. Go ahead.
Bob Kevoian
Yesterday in the show.
Josh Arnold
We've got to get Jerry Jones in here.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, and by the way, once again, you'd better hurry in Mr. Jones. Defense.
Tom Griswold
Don't you dare. You.
Bob Kevoian
If you watched Landman.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, that's true.
Bob Kevoian
He was great playing him. He was terrific.
Josh Arnold
Playing yourself is one of the harder things to do.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
If you didn't know the reality, you'd think that was some actor they hired.
Tom Griswold
I have no idea how he didn't get an Emmy nomination. I have no idea.
Bob Kevoian
I'm serious. He was terrific in that.
Josh Arnold
Cool.
Bob Kevoian
No, we were talking about. Now that I'm going to pronounce this incorrectly. Bad.
Al Jackson
Bad.
Bob Kevoian
Mitten. You don't pronounce that. Nitten. Badminton.
Josh Arnold
I didn't realize you said badminton.
Christy Lee
Me either.
Tom Griswold
Well, of course he does.
Josh Arnold
No, yeah, yeah, he does.
Pat Godwin
The.
Christy Lee
Ah.
Bob Kevoian
It is spelled that way, but it's spelled badminton.
Tom Griswold
I'm surprised he doesn't have a pinky up when he's talking. That's what I can't get over.
Bob Kevoian
Once again, the benefits of a classical education.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah, that's what it is.
Josh Arnold
A line stolen from Die Hard.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, exactly.
Bob Kevoian
Stolen.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
It's called a reference. There are footnotes at the end of the show explaining which. Which of my lines are references.
Tom Griswold
We got footnotes. That's exciting.
Bob Kevoian
The worldwide bird flu epidemic has driven up the price of badminton. Shuttlecocks. Now, we had two big badminton stories yesterday.
Tom Griswold
How is this a story?
Bob Kevoian
Because the first one's so cool. This is taking place in India. The World Badminton Championships are about to start, and they have hired monkey impersonators. This is true, right? Because they have these rhesus macaques that have been entering the newly renovated Indira Gandhi indoor stadium in New Delhi. So they have these guys that can imitate the sound of a different type of monkey. A langer. And apparently the. The rhesus monkeys. The macaques are macaques. Sorry. Shuttlecock macaque.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
There's a poem here somewhere. Macaque and macaque or.
Producer/Engineer
Never mind.
Josh Arnold
I believe it's Maya Angelou.
Bob Kevoian
In any event, there. These one monkeys are terrified of the other ones. And we had the thing yesterday with this guy. They make the sound of a langer, and it terrifies the monkeys so they don't come into the stadium.
Christy Lee
Correct.
Josh Arnold
And apparently it's effective.
Bob Kevoian
And I guess these guys get hired all over India for this gig.
Christy Lee
Correct.
Bob Kevoian
To keep the monkeys out at various places.
Josh Arnold
The guy's funny. He just looks like a dude. He's wearing jeans and shirt, and he
Christy Lee
just makes a weird noise.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah. He's got his hands in his pockets.
Bob Kevoian
So this is. But this is a big deal. This is the international championships.
Christy Lee
Bigger than football.
Bob Kevoian
I'll tell you what, Kristy Lee.
Tom Griswold
Bigger than the Lakers being sold again.
Bob Kevoian
I bet there's somebody out there listening that is betting. Planning on being betting on this.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, you saw the stats on the amount of betting on the. On the World Cup.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I'm sure there's.
Christy Lee
The World cup is a lot different than the World Badminton Championships.
Bob Kevoian
I'll have you know that the badminton shuttlecock travels faster than a soccer ball. My dear.
Christy Lee
I knew that.
Bob Kevoian
That's important.
Christy Lee
Is that important?
Bob Kevoian
You know that a shuttlecock goes faster
Christy Lee
than an Indy car for what, 2.2 seconds?
Bob Kevoian
No, not at all. That was a lot. I'm being Chick here.
Josh Arnold
You know what a soccer ball doesn't feel like? It's slow. Is when it hits you in the face.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And then you feel like you're the Elephant man for five minutes.
Bob Kevoian
So we found out that these shuttlecocks. This is really interesting. According to this news account.
Tom Griswold
Really interesting.
Josh Arnold
We may have a naysayer across the room.
Tom Griswold
Just because you're saying that doesn't make it interesting.
Bob Kevoian
Have you ever played.
Tom Griswold
If you're still listening, congratulations.
Bob Kevoian
Have you ever played badminton?
Tom Griswold
What does that got to do with the price of.
Josh Arnold
I find badminton to be fun.
Bob Kevoian
It's fun.
Producer/Engineer
Yes.
Tom Griswold
It causes fights among families. It's a wonderful pastime.
Bob Kevoian
No, but this is the part that we learned yesterday. A high quality shuttlecock uses 16 feathers from the left wing of either a duck or a goose.
Christy Lee
Yes. Because of the curve of the.
Bob Kevoian
And each feather. But listen to the. Each bird can only supply two or three feathers that meet specifications.
Tom Griswold
Josh, how do you get down from it?
Josh Arnold
You know, you get down from a goose.
Tom Griswold
That's exactly right, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
And I was wondering why it was only the left wing.
Christy Lee
Nobody listens to me ever.
Bob Kevoian
We got a letter here. We have a letter.
Tom Griswold
I wish.
Josh Arnold
Christy and Christy. That makes perfect sense.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Christy Lee
It's the curve of the feather.
Bob Kevoian
The way that dear Bob and Tom show there was some confusion about shuttlecocks requiring duck or goose feathers from the left wing.
Tom Griswold
Who is this clown?
Pat Godwin
Is there a joke coming?
Bob Kevoian
No, it's a letter from Pierce.
Tom Griswold
This better? Oh, you. You were intrigued by Pierce because his name is Pierce.
Bob Kevoian
My best friend growing up.
Tom Griswold
Of course it was.
Josh Arnold
I like names that are verbs.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And snooty like Pierce.
Bob Kevoian
Family name of a distinguished family using feathers from both left and right wings on a single shuttlecock result in unstable flight. The same principle has been used for centuries by archers on their arrows. Yes, well, thank you, Pierce. Thank you for paying attention.
Christy Lee
You make me so mad. I told you this yesterday.
Pat Godwin
Say thank you, Christy.
Josh Arnold
It's not true until it's verified by.
Tom Griswold
Verified by Pierce.
Christy Lee
Yeah, by a man. That's exactly right. Well, that says it all right there, ladies.
Bob Kevoian
So my question for Pierce. I'm sure you won't know the answer.
Al Jackson
Do they have to.
Bob Kevoian
They don't have to kill the geese, do they?
Josh Arnold
You wouldn't think so.
Christy Lee
You can pull a feather off of a goose without killing it.
Tom Griswold
Well, but if you do, it'll fly in circles.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but I mean, do they take all the feathers off the left wing?
Christy Lee
No, they only need two or three.
Josh Arnold
They must examine it while.
Christy Lee
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. That's. That's.
Tom Griswold
I bet you they killed. Kill the.
Christy Lee
The bird.
Josh Arnold
There is a chance that they. Absolutely. You know, the fog gras people or whatever.
Bob Kevoian
Before they fat.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, before they fatten up the hoots with the bag.
Pat Godwin
So you've got these.
Bob Kevoian
These geese wandering in with a bare left wing.
Josh Arnold
They don't. Yeah, they're not eating the wings.
Christy Lee
Oh, man. Sad all around.
Tom Griswold
The badminton guy got me.
Bob Kevoian
By the way, the important thing is the. The Badminton World Federation. Think their phone's pretty busy.
Josh Arnold
Maybe now.
Pat Godwin
Now it is.
Bob Kevoian
Badminton World Federation, man.
Josh Arnold
I used to. In gym, we would walk in and if the badminton nets were set up, we were all so pumped.
Christy Lee
Really?
Josh Arnold
And if the. If it was, we walked in and the coach said outside to the track, that's when I would fake appendicitis.
Bob Kevoian
What if they said it's square dancing day?
Josh Arnold
We never had it.
Christy Lee
Never did.
Josh Arnold
No, not in. I'm thinking high school, so.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, it was terrible.
Christy Lee
I love square dancing.
Pat Godwin
Oh, you did.
Bob Kevoian
Now back to badminton Dance with the boys. The. The Badminton World Federation is going to allow the use of synthetic shuttlecocks. Although.
Tom Griswold
Can't be.
Pat Godwin
It is.
Commercial Announcer
Okay.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Now, what do you have some about the NFL.
Tom Griswold
NFL preseason action tonight. Lions at the Bengals, Colts at the Patriots, Cardinals at the Raiders, packers at the Steelers, Chargers at Houston and the Titans are visiting the 49ers.
Bob Kevoian
And your famous phrase, the games don't count, but the injuries do.
Tom Griswold
In preseason and also in practice. A lot of people injured. Oh, including my boy Tunsil. Deshaun Watson. That's Deshaun Watson. What? He will be starting Cleveland's exhibition opener at Chicago on Saturday.
Bob Kevoian
Does he have to wear an ankle monitor?
Josh Arnold
Wouldn't that be awesome?
Christy Lee
That would be funny.
Bob Kevoian
Has that ever happened?
Tom Griswold
It'll be the first quarterback's first game action since 2024.
Josh Arnold
Even like a baseball player having to wear one.
Christy Lee
I'll look it up. A professional athlete with a monitor.
Bob Kevoian
It has to have happened.
Pat Godwin
I'm gonna say yes.
Tom Griswold
Not during the game. You can't wear them during the game, but I would imagine.
Bob Kevoian
I'm surprised that one of the sports Companies like Nike doesn't make one.
Josh Arnold
That's an SNL ad right there. That's really funny. The Nike ankle monitor for professional athletes.
Bob Kevoian
What would the motto be?
Tom Griswold
Just don't. He did it.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Pat Godwin
Just do it. He did it. I did it.
Tom Griswold
Wa wnba. I was gonna spoil something else.
Bob Kevoian
The ladies clearing her throat.
Christy Lee
Yes. Professional athletes have played games while wearing court ordered electronic ankle monitors. Most notably in December of 2017. NBA guard. Oh boy. Cantavious Caldwell Pope played multiple games for the Lakers wearing a GPS ankle monitor under a work release program following a probation violation. All right.
Pat Godwin
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
Hilarious.
Tom Griswold
What do you think of that? How's that fix you, huh?
Bob Kevoian
I was doing it as a joke.
Christy Lee
A couple of English footballers have also had to have it.
Tom Griswold
Oh, you know, you know Vinnie Jones.
Josh Arnold
I had seven monitors. Two wrist, two ankle.
Tom Griswold
Dallas, Minnesota, Golden State win last night to wnba. We got a world record coming right up. Your address. How about that?
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much.
Producer/Engineer
All right.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, we've got a some tubers. Not the YouTuber type, but the type you blow up and go down a river in. In the news, they don't call them tubers.
Josh Arnold
I just love, love float trips.
Christy Lee
Me too.
Josh Arnold
Canoe, raft, tubes, whatever. Yep, whatever you got.
Tom Griswold
But you don't like the Lazy River.
Bob Kevoian
Well, that's urine.
Tom Griswold
Is that wrong?
Josh Arnold
Peeing in a natural river, you feel like it really does get swept away.
Tom Griswold
Is that right?
Josh Arnold
I feel like it's resetting circles, but
Christy Lee
there's bleach and stuff in the Lazy River.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, there's also those, those foam, those foam wraps going by. What do you think those are?
Christy Lee
Foam rafts.
Bob Kevoian
I've never seen 3,000 bubbles. It looks like a little rat.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Pee pee. Okay.
Tom Griswold
And another fishing story for just for Josh coming up.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Pat Godwin
Is that wild caught?
Bob Kevoian
Coming up some. It's coming up some.
Tom Griswold
Oh, God. Let me look.
Bob Kevoian
Coming up, a great crime story. Two of them, both involving idiots and a weird story in the world.
Christy Lee
So many crime stories involve smart people. They wouldn't be involved in crime.
Bob Kevoian
No, but don't you all these the evil geniuses who are crime lords.
Josh Arnold
I like stories about idiots. I can usually relate.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, these are. These are dumbasses that are never going to be in a. In a movie because of the crime they committed and got caught.
Christy Lee
That's true.
Bob Kevoian
We'll find out what I'm talking about when we. When we return to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom show.
Producer/Engineer
Just gotta get ahold of us. Call, text or email. Get all the contact information you need@bobandtom.com this is the Bob and Tom show,
Christy Lee
the U.S. soccer podcast. I'm your host, Megan Klingenberg. And after interviewing so many dudes during this Men's World Cup, I'm so happy to be back with my U.S. women's national team players.
Bob Kevoian
I know the U.S. men's national has changed how I think about myself, how
Josh Arnold
I think about being an American, how I think about being on a team.
Christy Lee
It's one year out from that World cup and we're going to talk about the brightest prospects in U.S. soccer. You ready?
Commercial Announcer
I'm ready.
Tom Griswold
Let's do it.
Christy Lee
The U.S. soccer Podcast, presented by Henkel.
Bob Kevoian
Follow and listen on your favorite platform. Hang out with us.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Part Studios. There's Christy Lee.
Christy Lee
Hi.
Tom Griswold
She's over there at the news desk. There's Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey.
Tom Griswold
He's got that guitar.
Bob Kevoian
I do indeed have a, have a,
Tom Griswold
have a song coming up. Songs add up, baby. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi there.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby.
Pat Godwin
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Hello, indeed. I'm Chick and hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Chick McGee. Got a good letter here touching on two of my favorite topics, which are skiing and Otis elevators.
Josh Arnold
Wow. In the same elevator.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Wow.
Bob Kevoian
This comes to us from now, I've always, I might get this wrong. I've always said Ypsilanti, Michigan. Some folks say Ypsilanti.
Tom Griswold
No, it's ip.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Why would you bring up yip if it's not yip?
Bob Kevoian
Well, because why would you even bring it?
Josh Arnold
Some people say that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah. Some people say Michiganian, some say Michigander. Then there are those, there are those that feel that Michigander excludes ladies.
Tom Griswold
Hey, listen to this, Josh.
Bob Kevoian
So, so that's ergo, the current, the current Senate race.
Tom Griswold
Listen to this, Josh. Hey, Tom, why don't you let that cut under your nose? Heel.
Josh Arnold
Good one.
Bob Kevoian
The larger point here is Terry kind enough to write that, by the way, he said, the relationship I have with you guys is the longest racing relationship except for my siblings, of my life. Wasn't that sweet? Thank you very much. He goes, I was at a conference in Big Sky, Montana. The ski resort was spectacular. I know you plan to go. I heard you talking about it. You'll be happy to know the lodge has Otis elevators. And as you know, I'm brand loyal. It's not an Otis. I take the stairs.
Tom Griswold
And I worked at otis elevator for 29 days.
Josh Arnold
Not a bad run.
Tom Griswold
No, no.
Christy Lee
You had a bridge in from that
Tom Griswold
I was a wheelabrator operator. Never mind. I'd rather not say anything publicly.
Josh Arnold
But how was that job?
Tom Griswold
It had its ups and downs.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I see. Thank you.
Bob Kevoian
The land.
Tom Griswold
I dropped something on my foot and broke my toe.
Christy Lee
Oh.
Tom Griswold
I had a workman's comp windfall. That's just between us, though.
Bob Kevoian
If you want to write us a letter, you can go to Bob and Tom dot com. We've got a little thing you can click. Also, you can vote on what you'd like from Hooker the Cooker. What her would you like her to. Her to cook? Was that what I wanted to say?
Tom Griswold
Okay, back to you, Chick Maggie from Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. Make a note here. Ridley. An eight year old boy's unexpected catch of a fish at a lake near Philadelphia has drawn attention to the issue of exotic pets being released into local waterways.
Josh Arnold
Oh, man. What is it?
Tom Griswold
Saturday morning fishing trip this past weekend. Seamus Coffee.
Josh Arnold
That's a great name.
Christy Lee
Yeah, very Irish.
Tom Griswold
Reeling in Irish coffee, he thought. He's like, dad, dad, look, I've got a large bass. Yeah, it's a bass. And then his father, Michael Coffey recalled saying, I was like, slow down, dude, you might lose it. This looks like something that we've never caught before. Turned out to be a piranha.
Josh Arnold
No kidding.
Tom Griswold
And a Philadelphia lake.
Christy Lee
Huh?
Josh Arnold
And it was. It was living and thriving and.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
This is why no longer skinny dip.
Tom Griswold
Our biologists have confirmed. Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission says. Our biologists have confirmed that this is some species of piranha.
Bob Kevoian
It's a beautiful fish. It's got a deep blue tail and an orange belly.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
And teeth that'll take your balls off.
Bob Kevoian
From the girl. You heard that from the girl. Unprompted and.
Josh Arnold
But you know what?
Tom Griswold
Chr.
Josh Arnold
He hits something. That is the main fear for me.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, well, of course.
Josh Arnold
Is that it's going right for the sack.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, no, no, no. I'm worried about that.
Christy Lee
For the dangle.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, isn't that. That resembles a fishing lure, right?
Tom Griswold
I. I would protect my shaft at all costs.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I see.
Christy Lee
But some guys are growers, not showers.
Bob Kevoian
There's a picture of the teeth and they're deadly.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Wow.
Tom Griswold
There's more from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Our biologist confirmed it was a piranha. I think a lot of times people, you know, they have a dream. I want to own an exotic fish or snake or an alligator and think it's cute when it's small. Look at that. But then it gets bigger and they decide, well, it's somebody else's problem.
Bob Kevoian
You can buy piranha in the United States.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I've seen them in aquariums.
Tom Griswold
I get you. I can have you a piranha here by this afternoon.
Christy Lee
I bet you can get one right down the street.
Josh Arnold
They're freshwater aquariums.
Al Jackson
Oh, they are.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
My aquarium place, probably. By the way, we're about to celebrate the second anniversary of the goldfish I won at the state fair.
Josh Arnold
Oh, how nice.
Bob Kevoian
Still Alive. Sprinkles.
Tom Griswold
That's the name of it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Cart named him. Yes. Sprinkles. Okay, we won, like, I don't know, 15 of them. But Sprinkles is still alive.
Josh Arnold
The ick makes it look like it's covered in sprinkles.
Christy Lee
Are you gonna try to get some more this year?
Bob Kevoian
Are you kidding? Of course.
Christy Lee
Of course.
Bob Kevoian
I've already got the backup aquarium.
Christy Lee
Is it running? So the water's all.
Bob Kevoian
No, I should probably do that. It's in the garage. In any event. Yeah, Sprinkles is still with us.
Christy Lee
Cool.
Bob Kevoian
Lives in the same room as the dogs.
Christy Lee
Has he gotten bigger or is he same size?
Bob Kevoian
He's about the same. A little bit bigger. But they only get as big as your tank will allow them. But I'm very proud of the fact that we haven't killed him yet, so. So far. Okay, so we'll see. Now, let's go back to the sports page. What else?
Tom Griswold
Stupid world record. Adana Jadarian from New York has officially become the oldest competitive Rubik's Cube.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. This is no good.
Tom Griswold
According to Guinness World Records.
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean it's no good?
Tom Griswold
Frank Zeminski claimed the title just nine days after his 95th birthday.
Josh Arnold
I did it.
Tom Griswold
Mr. Zeminski achieved the record during the two Buffalo Cube Days. 20, 26. Oh, quite a party event. He successfully completed three solves on his two by two by two and three by three by three rotating puzzle cubes.
Bob Kevoian
I'm an old man. You know when I used to play Hungry Hungry Hippos.
Tom Griswold
We use real hippos and I like you.
Josh Arnold
That's how old I am.
Tom Griswold
You see, we use real hips. Frank says, I want people to know, no matter what your age, be persistent and never, never, never give up.
Bob Kevoian
So he's doing Rubik's Cube.
Josh Arnold
He's a cute old man.
Tom Griswold
In his brain right now, he's thinking of the worst racial epithet you've ever heard in your life.
Josh Arnold
When did he stop dancing in Six Flags commercials?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Got the suspenders. We were talking about that yesterday when you get so old you switch to suspenders.
Josh Arnold
I love it too. Isn't it better? Look at how much better it is than wearing his pants way pulled up
Christy Lee
or they're not hanging off his body.
Tom Griswold
Let me tell you something. Look at that. Said, don't sleep on that gorgeous sweater. That man is.
Josh Arnold
I love this.
Pat Godwin
It's actually a good sweater.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Cardigan man.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah. And underneath it, he's got that T shirt. World's oldest virgin.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I bet he cleans up.
Christy Lee
I bet.
Bob Kevoian
By the way, in this story, if
Tom Griswold
he is a virgin, I'm. He works in masturbation. Like, Like Carl Sagan worked in the universe.
Bob Kevoian
He has that skill set. I love the fact that in this story I had to change. They don't even say Rubik's Cube now. Oh, sure, look, they've gone generic.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I mean, some aren't. You can see some of the gamecubes are not Rubik's.
Bob Kevoian
But wasn't it invented by Rubik? Isn't that the whole thing?
Tom Griswold
Well, before. Say it again. I used to be able to do this with the Rubik's Cube, the 3x3. There's a trick to it. It's like left, right, left, right, three, three times, four times, seven times, boom. It's solved. You just have to remember, no matter
Christy Lee
what, it gotta remember the sequence now.
Bob Kevoian
What it's presented, you can solve now. Would you watch a TV show?
Tom Griswold
Nope.
Bob Kevoian
In which. Let's live on television. A guy has to jump out of an airplane and his chute won't open until the Rubik's Cube is done. It's electronically controlled.
Tom Griswold
I, I would not.
Christy Lee
No, I would watch a guy die.
Bob Kevoian
No, I want him. I want to see a guy with some grace under pressure.
Pat Godwin
Someone's gonna lose.
Bob Kevoian
He jumps out of the plane and the Rubik's Cube slips.
Tom Griswold
Why do I think in my head, he, He. He says this about this guy who. Well, we had to fire Chick because we found this guy who could open up a Rubik's Cube while his shoots is an amazing bird. He can think under pressure. Chick could never do that.
Josh Arnold
I couldn't watch that dude climb that building. I. I couldn't watch it.
Tom Griswold
No. I still haven't watched.
Josh Arnold
I couldn't watch a Rubik's Cube.
Bob Kevoian
The guy climbing the building.
Pat Godwin
That was insane. Oh, no.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I watched that documentary, but I couldn't watch him do it live.
Al Jackson
No.
Josh Arnold
Just in case.
Pat Godwin
That was terrifying.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
They were on a 15 second delay.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Christy Lee
It doesn't matter.
Josh Arnold
I know, but I don't need to see a guy.
Bob Kevoian
I guess it'd be if suddenly the screen went, you know, blank.
Producer/Engineer
Right.
Bob Kevoian
You'd know.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, but all of a sudden it's Sopranos. Well, I guess they had some issues.
Bob Kevoian
Well, they used to say in Mad magazine, splat.
Christy Lee
Didn't we just lose one of those guys?
Bob Kevoian
I'm sorry.
Christy Lee
Yeah, didn't we? One of those climbers.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I thought you meant Sopranos. Big Pussy just died.
Christy Lee
There was a climb.
Bob Kevoian
The actor from the Sopranos, whose character name was Big Pussy is deceased. And there was nothing funny, nothing funnier than watching the straight newscasters on the networks going, I'm not about a big pussy.
Tom Griswold
Big Pussy Monroe, you know, they'd have
Bob Kevoian
a conference to set aside if they could say his name on the air.
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Coming up in the news. What do you got, Christy Lee?
Christy Lee
Coming up, we have river tubers that had to be rescued if you use Bumble especially. Ladies, listen up. There's a big change. And Barbie and Ken might be looking a little different these days, okay?
Bob Kevoian
Also, we got. We had the story about goose feathers and badminton.
Tom Griswold
Worst Marx Brothers movie ever.
Bob Kevoian
We have a great happy goose story in the news. Goose the bird, not the. Not the shove in the old, you know.
Josh Arnold
Oh, right. Yeah. Not. Not pinching orange.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Very good. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Producer/Engineer
Thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning, even though we're not too much to look at. You can also watch the show on our YouTube channel.
Bob Kevoian
Sent you.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios at the news desk. It's Christy Lee.
Christy Lee
Well, hello there.
Tom Griswold
Hey, there's Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Tom Griswold
Hello. There's Josh Arnold.
Pat Godwin
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Hi. There's Ace Cosby. Hey, I'm Chick McGee. And hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Chick McGee.
Josh Arnold
That.
Bob Kevoian
That was a good sportscast. Very informative. Now, are you going to be watching any of the NFL this evening?
Tom Griswold
I might. I might. Take a squint. Take a look. Yeah, why not?
Bob Kevoian
Bunch of games going on out there.
Tom Griswold
Are long national nightmares finally over. The NFL's back.
Bob Kevoian
When's the first real game?
Tom Griswold
You asked me two questions.
Christy Lee
Australia.
Tom Griswold
Ninth. Tenth. Ninth September. First week. Yeah. Australia.
Christy Lee
What the hell is that?
Tom Griswold
Rams. And the. And the other two 49ers.
Christy Lee
Jonas Brothers are doing the halftime. I know that.
Tom Griswold
That they are, yes.
Bob Kevoian
Are they going to do an extended halftime then?
Christy Lee
I don't know about that.
Josh Arnold
Why wouldn't they get met at work
Tom Griswold
or at Least Colin Hay, right? Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, well, no, it's time for us.
Christy Lee
Why are we going to Australia? To open the American Football League. You just. National football.
Tom Griswold
You just dismissed that.
Josh Arnold
What do you mean?
Tom Griswold
Understand that. Just.
Bob Kevoian
I love the band. Men at work. I'm a big fan.
Josh Arnold
Silver chair you can get. There's some.
Tom Griswold
Silver Chat's amazing.
Bob Kevoian
In fact, that reminds me, I just run into Ms. Hooker in the hallway.
Tom Griswold
September 10th. Only on Netflix.
Josh Arnold
Oh, really? Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's interesting.
Josh Arnold
Sorry. Kids who are lower income families can't watch football anymore. Real, real nice.
Bob Kevoian
Where was I? Oh, on a lighter note, I was talking to Ms. Hooker about this. We need to try Vegemite.
Josh Arnold
No, you haven't tried it.
Bob Kevoian
No. And Vegemite became very in the news, if you will, during the heyday. Which is what? Early 80s of men at work.
Christy Lee
Yeah. MTV videos, great sandwich, great band.
Bob Kevoian
And the one song was land Down Under. Eating a Vegemite sandwich. And I. I've been told Vegemite is God awful.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I didn't care for it very much.
Tom Griswold
An acquired taste.
Josh Arnold
I'll. I'll try it again if we eat it here.
Tom Griswold
But remember when Colin Hay was here and did an overkill?
Al Jackson
Oh boy, that was so.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Pretty okay.
Bob Kevoian
And do yourself a favor, spend some time getting into some of the Colin Hay solo stuff. It's brilliant. He ended up in a lot of TV shows with that.
Josh Arnold
That's amazing.
Bob Kevoian
Cool music news this morning. Both positive stories. Rod Stewart is doing fine. He had a stent put in a couple days ago. Had to cancel some shows in Ohio and I think he's put off his tour for about a month, which I think included a big. He was gonna do like a residency, I think in Vegas.
Christy Lee
Yep.
Bob Kevoian
But that's not going to happen for all. But the other good news. Really cool story. Richie Blackmore got back on stage last night with Deep Purple and did the encore and of course played Smoke on the Water. One the definitive riffs in rock and roll. Do we have that, that video of a Richie.
Josh Arnold
Pretty awesome.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Jason's pissed. I asked him to do something because he was taking a break playing golf. Hey, I bought your lunch yesterday. Calm down. Here we go. This is Richie on stage. Sound familiar?
Christy Lee
Yeah, I think we've all heard it.
Josh Arnold
There he is.
Tom Griswold
How about that? He can't help himself.
Pat Godwin
That's great.
Bob Kevoian
Come on.
Tom Griswold
Boy, that is a. That's quite a fist bump he's got.
Bob Kevoian
There's that face. God, that's great.
Josh Arnold
Okay, this is so unfair. If any of us just wanted to hear A song that we like.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Tom would have never allowed that.
Bob Kevoian
I know, because you'd be playing, you know, vomit in the pukers and their
Josh Arnold
slump. I disagree.
Pat Godwin
Record's still good.
Josh Arnold
It is good. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Roger Glover on the bass.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, come on. It's great, though. That was last night. One time only. Apparently. A great moment on. As I said earlier, that is one of the definitive riffs in rock star second roll.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it's great.
Bob Kevoian
Inarguable.
Tom Griswold
And that Colin Hay overkill on. On the show is on our YouTube page, so.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, cool.
Tom Griswold
Check that out.
Bob Kevoian
Very, very good. Now it's time to go back to the. Can we trust the girl after what happened last break?
Tom Griswold
Well, she was talking about balls, as I remember.
Bob Kevoian
Once again, a piranha. Where was that lake with the piranha?
Christy Lee
It was in Philadelphia, outside of Philly. God.
Pat Godwin
Wow.
Tom Griswold
It's where Pat Godwin had conjugal visit with skinny dipping.
Pat Godwin
Not in the lake.
Producer/Engineer
There he is.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Philly.
Pat Godwin
They got a Philly cheese sandwich.
Bob Kevoian
You went skinny dipping in the Schuylkill River. That's a river.
Pat Godwin
We're talking about the lake outside of Philly.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Eat it off her belly, right?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Pat Godwin
Whatever. Whatever it takes.
Tom Griswold
Okay. That's right.
Christy Lee
Hey, she's a lover.
Josh Arnold
Oh, sorry.
Christy Lee
The dating app Bumble is getting rid of its hallmark rule that prevents men from making the first move.
Josh Arnold
This seems like a mistake.
Bob Kevoian
Isn't that the whole reason Bumble is popular?
Christy Lee
Exactly. Effective immediately, men will be able to start conversations with women on the dating app.
Bob Kevoian
Next thing you know, Grindr will do that.
Josh Arnold
Yes. Pretty soon men will be able to talk.
Christy Lee
All users will be also be able to respond to first messages with.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you for getting that joke, Josh. I was hoping more to that.
Christy Lee
All users will be able to respond to first messages within 72 hours, up from 24. The company explained. The move comes after nearly 2/3 of women surveyed on Bumble said they prefer men to send their first message.
Josh Arnold
Oh, well, then. Okay, so they had an issue, I guess.
Tom Griswold
I think they came up with a woman making the first contact. They were trying to do what women wanted.
Josh Arnold
That's what I thought.
Christy Lee
That's what I thought.
Bob Kevoian
But that's what distinguishes them from the other ones.
Josh Arnold
Right? But 2/3 of their users don't want it that way.
Bob Kevoian
It's probably 2/3 of their users. Users have never gotten a date.
Josh Arnold
That might be the case just because of stats.
Tom Griswold
Pardon me, but are you busy this Friday?
Bob Kevoian
I have never been on a dating app, but some friends of mine met and Got married on Bumble from Bumble.
Pat Godwin
I tried the Bumble once.
Christy Lee
I thought you were on Twitter or Tinder.
Pat Godwin
I was successful on Tinder, but I did try the Bumble once. I had a couple of awkward encounters.
Tom Griswold
You'd get up in the morning, you'd take a shower, and then what would you do? You.
Pat Godwin
I'm thinking of actually making a return.
Tom Griswold
Is that right?
Pat Godwin
To Tinder? Return to Tinder. Return to tinder. I spend $500 on high end dating apps. And bright and early each morning I check the traps.
Josh Arnold
Looks like I got one.
Pat Godwin
Return Tinder if you like swag. Bright and now. Pretty little lady wants to hook up tonight. She doesn't look like a photo, but neither do I. I'm really 10 years older. She says I'm a guy. Nobody's perfect. Spent a lot of effort. Yeah. Get a lady in bed. I'm at a new girl on 10. The trail is filled with suit of fat.
Josh Arnold
Oh, this isn't working.
Pat Godwin
Returned to bartender. Met a girl at the bar. I'm going old school now. We're making out of my car at Applebee's Return.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you, King. Once again, Bumble.
Christy Lee
Yeah, guys, you can make the first move now.
Josh Arnold
So they're definitely. They've already changed.
Bob Kevoian
So then how does it. How does it differ from any of the other ones?
Christy Lee
It doesn't really.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they're kind of getting rid of the thing that made them stand out a little bit.
Pat Godwin
That's a shame. It's kind of cool.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
There's a new audio one. There is Mumble.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You can't really tell what they're saying.
Tom Griswold
Some girls like that, you know, silent and.
Josh Arnold
Oh, they take you to dinner. Take it to dinner. And then I can go all dark and silent.
Pat Godwin
What'd you say?
Josh Arnold
That's the whole thing.
Pat Godwin
Excuse me.
Producer/Engineer
Back door.
Christy Lee
A recent survey.
Josh Arnold
Back door.
Tom Griswold
No.
Josh Arnold
I'll buy you a nice meal and then bruise your uvula.
Tom Griswold
Nice seafood meal. Feel me in the kidney and never call her again.
Christy Lee
A recent survey reveals how the unrealistic proportions of Barbie and Ken dolls have changed.
Bob Kevoian
Bring your sister the better.
Christy Lee
Three decades after a landmark Australian study revealed the doll's body proportions were almost unattainable in real life.
Josh Arnold
I know, like, people were upset.
Christy Lee
Researchers revisited the study and found that Barbie and Gin have undergone a remarkable transformation.
Tom Griswold
Don't get me started on the tragedy that is GI Joe. I can tell you that right now.
Christy Lee
Scientists measured Barbie dolls from today's fashionista range, including curvy, tall, petite and standard Barbie, as well as the latest Ken Dollar findings show, key proportions, including waist to hip and chest to waist ratios, are now much closer to those seen in real life.
Josh Arnold
So.
Bob Kevoian
But doesn't Barbie still have the deformed feet? So she goes in high heels.
Christy Lee
She has to put in high heels.
Josh Arnold
Now, these are just. This is just a. A type of Barbie. They're not totally changing.
Bob Kevoian
All Barbies as they've evolved, apparently, over the last.
Tom Griswold
You think we will live to see Ken having no equipment?
Christy Lee
No.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe Ken is still hung like a Tic Tac. Remember the toy for kids?
Tom Griswold
Wasn't there the Joey Stivic doll from all in the Family? When Meathead and Gloria had a baby, I think. And it had.
Christy Lee
And it had.
Tom Griswold
Joey had a penis. Yeah.
Commercial Announcer
Whoa.
Tom Griswold
I think I'm remembering that correctly.
Bob Kevoian
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. There was a toy? Or was this just.
Tom Griswold
It was a toy called Joey.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Tom Griswold
A baby dog. Joey Stivic. And it was anatomically correct, I think.
Josh Arnold
Gotcha.
Tom Griswold
Or I might have dreamed that.
Bob Kevoian
I don't remember that.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Tom Griswold
I know. Gloria and Meathead had a son named Joey.
Josh Arnold
Okay, did they do one of those things where the. They vote. The audience voted on the name of.
Tom Griswold
I don't think so.
Josh Arnold
I remember my mom telling me they did that with Bam Bam and Pebbles.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
When it was a prime time show.
Josh Arnold
It was huge. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Like Chuck.
Christy Lee
You're absolutely right. 1976.
Tom Griswold
There it is.
Christy Lee
Archie Bunker's grandson, Joey Stivic, the first anatomical doll. Whoa.
Josh Arnold
Why would they do that?
Tom Griswold
I don't know. There it is.
Pat Godwin
That's crazy.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay. It's a. It is a baby and it just has a tiny wiener.
Christy Lee
Right?
Tom Griswold
Right.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I know.
Tom Griswold
It wasn't a.
Josh Arnold
You know what I was thinking this whole time?
Christy Lee
What?
Josh Arnold
A Rob Reiner action figure with a huge doll. So that's totally my fault.
Christy Lee
No.
Tom Griswold
Michael Civic.
Josh Arnold
Michael. Yes.
Tom Griswold
Joey toys the baby. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Josh Arnold
That's kind of fun.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Now.
Bob Kevoian
So coming up, I think we have a little tribute to that Barbie story for you.
Christy Lee
Oh, really?
Bob Kevoian
Is that gonna be okay?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What else have you got? Coming up, Christy Lee.
Christy Lee
Coming up, we still have our river tubers who had to be rescued. Anthony Hopkins has a new album coming
Josh Arnold
out, not a music collection.
Tom Griswold
This is a great album, Dr. Lecter.
Pat Godwin
Thank you.
Josh Arnold
It's an August.
Bob Kevoian
Unbelievable. I sing and play People covet what they say Doctor and the thing rhymes with fava beans and I hate to
Christy Lee
even say the words but baby shark
Josh Arnold
in the news I don't mind baby
Tom Griswold
shark I mind it all I didn't have kids.
Bob Kevoian
There's an interesting, interesting stat about baby shark that I did not know.
Tom Griswold
I bet it's not interesting.
Bob Kevoian
I think it is. But then again, what you find interesting and.
Tom Griswold
Oh, see, I just, I backed off and I said, all right. And you have to attack.
Bob Kevoian
Well, we'll find out what I'm talking about.
Tom Griswold
The benefits of a white trash education. Thank you. Thank you very much.
Bob Kevoian

Christy Lee
Oh, hi. You caught me texting. Sorry.
Tom Griswold
Well, there's Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Hello. Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello. Chick McGee. Let's get organized over here.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Christy Lee
All right.
Bob Kevoian
You just had. You just had a new story about the Barbie doll that, that I guess her proportions anatomically have been adjusted slightly.
Christy Lee
Yeah, I like that.
Josh Arnold
There are all kinds of Barbies for all kinds of people.
Christy Lee
Sure.
Josh Arnold
I think the traditional one is fine, too.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, we had a couple of pieces about Barbie in the history of this show. I thought we would.
Christy Lee
She's like, she's iconic.
Bob Kevoian
Feature one for you. All right, here you go. Rick Schrader is Our guest Rick is a, is a newly married new dad. Yes, that's right.
Josh Arnold
I'm remarried.
Bob Kevoian
I, I bought another ticket on the sucker train. And you now have a stepchild. I have a four year old daughter.
Tom Griswold
That's great. Which is wonderful. Yeah. Oh, she's beautiful.
Josh Arnold
And I, I really had very little to do with it. I mean thank you for the congratulations. I just you know, sort of came in at the last minute. You tag, you know, it's instant dag. You know, add respect, responsibility and stir. It's.
Bob Kevoian
She's very nice.
Josh Arnold
I had my first holiday season with
Bob Kevoian
a child which was great.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And you really can't teach greed too early to kids, you know,
Bob Kevoian
giant truck of toys that come in. Is that all?
Josh Arnold
You know, I'm moving the couch onto the street so we can make room for her Paulie Flinders collection.
Bob Kevoian
You know, that's what a. Yeah, she, you know, I really, I'm way into this and I want her to grow up with a good sense of self
Josh Arnold
and to be confident.
Bob Kevoian
And boy the girls toys really help
Josh Arnold
out that area, don't they?
Bob Kevoian
The, the boys get, you know, building and creating things and the girls get Barbie.
Josh Arnold
You know, it, you know, teaches our daughter to be a good for her. Our value depends on our appearance. That way we get old and feel like crap.
Bob Kevoian
You know, says it right on the.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
What they need is middle age Barbie.
Bob Kevoian
Giant doll.
Josh Arnold
Like breasts sagging.
Bob Kevoian
Ken leaves her for Skipper.
Josh Arnold
Comes with the tools of oppression. You see here.
Bob Kevoian
It just, it's humiliating. But you bought her. When was it?
Producer/Engineer
Anyway.
Josh Arnold
But I got her one anyway.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you. Thank you, Rick. Rick Schrader. Let's continue our, our tribute to Barbie, shall we? This is a classic from the Bob and Tom Band and Orchestra.
Tom Griswold
New from the Bob and Tom Toy company. It's Trophy Wife Barbie. Trophy Wife Barbie.
Bob Kevoian

Sorry. Trophy Wife Barbie's husband sold separately. We'd like to say she comes with her husband, but she does doesn't. She does however come with Pedro the pool Boy.
Christy Lee

Bob Kevoian
I don't work in the yard.
Tom Griswold
I'm Trophy Wife Barbie.
Christy Lee
I got a gold credit card.
Bob Kevoian
I used to work at Dairy Queen. And now I've got a legacy.
Christy Lee
I'm Trophy Wife Barbie I, I Living doll.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, singing is hard, but not as
Tom Griswold
hard as my music teacher.
Bob Kevoian
Trophy Wife Barbie her husband's getting ill Trophy Wife Barbie can't wait to read the will. Other girls say she's a mix she
Josh Arnold

Bob Kevoian

Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much. Oh, bye. We go back to Christy Lee. She's at the Bob and Tom news desk. What else is happening?
Christy Lee
A river tubing group has been rescued after getting lost in the Michigan wilderness for three days. The two women and a nine year old boy had been on a tubing trip on the Muskegon river when they hit some logs and their tubes popped. They were reported missing after one of them not shown up for her dental appointment. Following days of searching, the group was found about 7 miles from where they entered the river. Rescuers tracked the trio from a tube next to the river, following footprints, broken twigs and bent grass. The women said they survived by drinking river water, eating bark as well as flowers.
Josh Arnold
Bark?
Christy Lee
Michigan State Police said they were taken to a hospital treated for infections, dehydration and rashes.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they weren't really prepared.
Christy Lee
No. Well, you don't expect to get. Now, when you.
Josh Arnold
I don't understand.
Christy Lee
When you go river rafting, you don't bring an emergency kit, do you?
Bob Kevoian
Well, they weren't in one of those places where they issue you a raft and you go to a designated spot.
Christy Lee
They just picked a spot and put the rafts in.
Josh Arnold
Okay, then. Yeah, these are. These things can happen.
Bob Kevoian
They didn't have a functioning cell phone, apparently. And I hadn't told anybody where they were going, I guess, so. It, it's not exactly clear.
Tom Griswold
They didn't have a shore lunch or anything.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, well, some bark.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I mean, eating bark and flowers, that'd be a great day for my dogs. They'd be just fine.
Christy Lee
Is bark something you're supposed to eat?
Josh Arnold
That's like one of the last things in the wilderness.
Pat Godwin
Pork.
Tom Griswold
Is there any protein in there?
Pat Godwin
I think so.
Josh Arnold
Why'd they go with fiber?
Christy Lee
I guess.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know. But they, the police were able to track them. So fortunately, this was not in the up, by the way. This is in relatively Muskegon River.
Christy Lee
Is that Lower Michigan?
Josh Arnold
It's.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, it's comes out of Houghton Lake, I think, but yeah, that's. Wow. You got to Be. First of all, get the two ply tube when you go. Don't get the. Don't get the chintzy one that you give your kids in the pool.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Get the really heavy duty one. Among other things.
Tom Griswold
Spend the extra money. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Tell people where you're going, what your plan is, where you're going to get in, where you're going to get out, that sort of thing. But they. They got. They got rescued. I guess they were both delighted that they each lost six pounds.
Tom Griswold
So.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh yeah, they got that going.
Christy Lee
A Phoenix man is in custody after allegedly robbing the Scottsdale shake shack location where he worked and returning to the restaurant two days later. According to court documents, the suspect robbed two co workers at gunpoint, taking $2,800 in cash before locking both of them in the cooler.
Josh Arnold
Give me all the money, Steve.
Christy Lee
No, no. The victims. That's kind of what happened. Victims later told police the suspect's physical characteristics, voice and familiarity with the store, consistent with their co worker who had called out sick that morning. They said the suspect had knowledge of the walk in cooler latch, location of gloves and cleaning wipes, and the layout of the employee only areas. But the 33 year old returned to work two days later and there he was arrested in the restaurant's parking lot on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. They always return to the scene of the crime is what they say. Right.
Bob Kevoian
He worked there.
Christy Lee
I know.
Tom Griswold
What an idiot.
Bob Kevoian
First of all, no brand loyalty. No, you don't rob. Go rob the competition. I guess if you're gonna. This is terrible.
Josh Arnold
I get returning though. Who. Why would they suspect. In his head, he's going, why would they suspect me if I actually go back to work?
Christy Lee
Right. But I do understand that as well.
Josh Arnold
What a fool.
Bob Kevoian
Reminds me of that time that the Hamburglar pistol whipped Grimace. Oh, when the Hamburglar was on reefer there briefly on reefer.
Josh Arnold
It was rough.
Bob Kevoian
It was on the. Isn't it?
Christy Lee
He was on the reefer.
Josh Arnold
He was in the reefer Grimace. Right in his driveway.
Tom Griswold
Grimace got pistol whipped. Is that what you guys are talking about?
Bob Kevoian
Okay, maybe they didn't have.
Christy Lee
Because he was on the reefer.
Tom Griswold
Best pistol. Pistol whipping in a movie. He's got to be goodfellas, right?
Pat Godwin
Absolutely.
Josh Arnold
You mean when they actually pistol whip that guy?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And that guy got in the movie because he said, yeah, you can hit me in the face with a gun.
Josh Arnold
He's directing Scorsese. Anything to be in a Scorsese.
Tom Griswold
That's exactly right. Right, Man.
Christy Lee
Police in South Dakota report A juvenile male trying to steal an SUV was thwarted by a puppy dog. Manual transmission, ladies and gentlemen.
Bob Kevoian
Love these stories.
Christy Lee
Rapid city police responded to a parking lot after a person monitoring security cameras saw someone get into a parked suv. Police said the suspect tried to drive away, but did not know how to drive a manual.
Tom Griswold
Hey, grind me into a nearby truck.
Christy Lee
Kota TV reports he was referred to the appropriate juvenile justice authorities. Yeah, Learn a stick if you're gonna be a car.
Josh Arnold
Any idea what SUV has a manual?
Christy Lee
Jeeps sometimes do.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, I'm kind of surprised that the kid didn't just take his phone and go onto YouTube. And how do you drive a stick?
Christy Lee
Well, maybe he didn't have time.
Tom Griswold
I mean, that's kind of a big ask when you're trying to steal a car.
Josh Arnold
The thing is, is he didn't and scout the count of the car. Well, you make sure the car you're about to steal does not have.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe if you're not a thief, you'd be better off in this life. I, I, I did.
Tom Griswold
You're the.
Bob Kevoian
I guess. Once he got back to the station, the cops made him. They gave him one phone call, and they gave him a rotary phone. The kid's head exploded. No idea.
Josh Arnold
No clue.
Tom Griswold
Oh. Continuing with the lot, I yeah. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
We get this story every few months. Someone is. You remember the carjacking, like a Porsche, and the kid gets in it and.
Christy Lee
Yeah. And I'm always surprised at how young the valet guys are sometimes in places that you go, because they must have a class where they teach these kids how to drive exotics, because that should
Josh Arnold
be a prereq before you.
Bob Kevoian
But it's not just exotics. It's Everything now is different.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Christy Lee
True. Push buttons. There's. Push.
Bob Kevoian
The transmission on my car is the size of what used to be the window button. It's this little tiny thing. If you didn't know. It's not obvious.
Christy Lee
That's a tough gig.
Tom Griswold
And then it's not a stick at all. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, it's a little. And then the. It looks in the suburban. It's like a.
Josh Arnold
What?
Bob Kevoian
How do I It's like the windshield. I Sorry. The turn signal.
Christy Lee
Oh, it's on the stick. It's on the.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. No, it's just a little tiny. You pull it in and push it up, and it is a readout on the dashboard.
Christy Lee
That's your transmission.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Oh, it's not. Yeah, it's a little tiny.
Christy Lee
Remember the. When it was on the stick?
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Three and three in the tree.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
No, no, it's nothing like that. Oh. But I mean, I get the point being that there are so many different types. I guess if you're a valet, you get used to it.
Tom Griswold
But my grandfather had a three on the tree. That was the pickup truck he hand painted with a brush.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Oh, wow.
Tom Griswold
Didn't look bad.
Pat Godwin
Nice.
Tom Griswold
Didn't look good. But did look bad. Like a lime green. I had.
Bob Kevoian
I had a buddy 30 plus years ago that. That with a brush painted his car flat black. Which now is trendy. Now is super hip.
Christy Lee
Right.
Josh Arnold
I think it stopped though. I. The murdered out thing.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
A couple years ago kind of quit.
Christy Lee
Yeah, you're right.
Josh Arnold
I don't know why. Because it was huge for about four months.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Did you guys see the other Shake Shack story that.
Bob Kevoian
But the airport, the tip thing.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Yeah. And it turned out to just be a technological error. It wasn't. They weren't up to something. But a person, a couple is at the airport at a Shake Shack and the woman opts for no tip on the. She orders on the app and are, you know, on the thing right there. Hits no tip and the prices of everything went up. When she hit no tip and she told her husband. Her husband was like, yeah, right. And he went and did it. And the same thing happened. And it turns out it was a system error. Shake Shack wasn't trying to do this.
Christy Lee
Gotcha.
Josh Arnold
So I don't want people to think that it's. They're. They're being shady. They're not. There was some problem, but it makes everybody concerned about, hey, maybe we're over tipping in the society to go see.
Bob Kevoian
Why didn't she give a tip? Those people are working hard.
Josh Arnold
I think it's one of those instances where she did everything. You've seen those. And sometimes they still offer. She put in her order, she did all, and they just set the food down. And she didn't feel the need to serve, to tip a fast food worker because you don't necessarily tip it at McDonald's. Stuff like that.
Christy Lee
I get you.
Al Jackson
You.
Josh Arnold
So she wasn't being a garbage person either.
Christy Lee
No.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Yeah. Well, it's problematic these days and where you tip and where you don't. Remember we had the letter about the lady that went to the veterinarian.
Christy Lee
You're tipping at the veterinarian.
Pat Godwin
There's the option to do that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
There was an option to leave it too. I mean, kind of weird.
Christy Lee
They've been there lately.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
No need. It's already a little steep.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, well, they know. They've Got me. I mean, who's not going to pay a little extra for their.
Christy Lee
I know, right?
Josh Arnold
Little pet.
Bob Kevoian
Yesterday, I had to deliver a stool sample.
Christy Lee
That's always fun.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Did you have to go?
Tom Griswold
It wasn't yours.
Bob Kevoian
Wasn't it? It was a pad. It was a. Essentially a prescription bottle, and it was a. It was really difficult for me to hit that thing.
Pat Godwin
Sir, this is for your dog.
Bob Kevoian
I had no idea that you wanted the. The sample from me.
Tom Griswold
They've already. They've always, always been able to find a stool sample on enough of one.
Christy Lee
When you take them in.
Tom Griswold
Can we take them in?
Christy Lee
Yeah, me, too.
Producer/Engineer
Oh.
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah, that's.
Josh Arnold
I gotcha. Yeah, you know, we kind of go in.
Tom Griswold
Puppy dogs don't really wipe. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, oh, oh, no, no. I had to get. This is from the new.
Tom Griswold
No kidding.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Christy Lee
I have to wipe my dog sometimes or every time.
Josh Arnold
Sometimes I have to wipe my cat.
Christy Lee
Yeah, No, I do it now every time because I'm tired of it. Him wiping his butt on the carpet.
Bob Kevoian
I apologize. Let's go back to fast.
Tom Griswold
I bet you the vet sees you coming, Tom. He goes, let's make him bring in a stool sample. Let's do this again.
Bob Kevoian
She's a lovely lady.
Tom Griswold
Let's do it again.
Christy Lee
You're going to Dr. Bart's.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Now, let's move forward here. What's coming up?
Christy Lee
Coming up, we have a pet goose in the news. We have a raccoon that had to be rescued, and we actually have a sweet dog story to, too. Yeah, dogs.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The goose story is really. Is sweet one. And also a bizarre story about, I guess, science in the world of leather. Not. Not, like kinky leather, necessarily.
Tom Griswold
What are you talking about?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Leather and leather and science, huh?
Christy Lee
All right, and we have our history lesson, because we all learn so much during our history.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Today's a good day to do something important, because today in History Week at best.
Tom Griswold
Oh, we'll find something.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, Christy, what's going on over there?
Christy Lee
Well, we were talking about cars. You know what car is really easy to drive?
Tom Griswold

Tom Griswold
Welcome back to the Bob and Tom show. And I make this announcement from time to time. If you're listening today, you have real fortitude.
Josh Arnold
You're.
Tom Griswold
You're what this country is all about. Thank you very much. There's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, chick.
Tom Griswold
Hey, man. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby.
Producer/Engineer
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Hello, indeed. And I'm Chicken. Here's our leader, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much.
Tom Griswold
You're welcome.
Bob Kevoian
To my understanding, we have something coming in the satellite. There we go.
Producer/Engineer
Oh, look.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, it's that septic.
Josh Arnold
Hey, everybody, it's the number two plumber in the tri State area. It's septic. Oh, boy.
Christy Lee
I really.
Bob Kevoian
You catch on a break here, Ed?
Tom Griswold
No.
Josh Arnold
Hey, keep it down. I'm on the phone. Anyway. Hey, I want to call in here real quick. I went out on a call the other day that went south, but I think you guys are gonna like hearing about this. So I get this call. This fella calls me over. They got a log jam and one of their toilet pipes. They're a nice enough couple. He's a traveling PVC salesman.
Tom Griswold
She.
Josh Arnold
She cuts hair out of the house. So I. I'm already figuring for a big old mess of hair. I pull out my Snake the toilet. Snake.
Producer/Engineer
Bang.
Tom Griswold
Pipes, not wives.
Josh Arnold
I go to Snake and I pull out the hugest gob of used condoms you have ever seen. There must have been 200 used condoms. Oh, man.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I call the fella in the bathroom. I show him. I'm like, brother, you gotta stop flushing your used rubbers. He goes, Mister, I got a vasectomy 13 years ago. I haven't worn a condom since. I was like, well, I hate to be the bearer of the bad news, but looks like while you're out selling pot, your wife's at home getting piped. You know what I mean? Are you picking up what I'm putting down?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
She's. She's bobbing more than hair. You get what I'm saying? Anyways, I got 9:30 over at the Smith house. Looks like Herb got backed up again with his old tricks. So give me a call. 800 down the brown. I'm at septic. Cutting farts and breaking hearts.
Tom Griswold
Cutting farts and breaking hearts.
Pat Godwin
New slogan, new little tag.
Bob Kevoian
He keeps very busy that Ed Sept.
Tom Griswold
It's like breaking necks and cashing checks.
Bob Kevoian
Got s right there in the house.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, right.
Christy Lee
Yeah, I know people that do that.
Bob Kevoian
Bob Peters here. No, no, just got here. We just got here. I forgot.
Tom Griswold
I don't think I want my Peter bomb, do you?
Josh Arnold
No, you and I, you, we disagree on the. What that punchline means, so.
Tom Griswold
Oh, okay.
Producer/Engineer
Go ahead.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, Bob and you're.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, right.
Bob Kevoian
Really it's like bobbing for apples. You see?
Pat Godwin
Correct.
Christy Lee
I thought it was bobbing like cutting it off.
Josh Arnold
That's what his initial argument was.
Tom Griswold
That's.
Josh Arnold
And now he's changed. So now I don't know what stance to take.
Bob Kevoian
That's because some semi literate friend of mine explained it to me.
Tom Griswold
No, no. Wouldn't it be Bob Bob for Peters if you're doing it that way.
Josh Arnold
No, you can. I. I get what you're saying.
Tom Griswold
But you Bob Apples here.
Pat Godwin
Bob and Peters.
Tom Griswold
Bob apples.
Bob Kevoian
See, you know the setup on this that we probably be helpful to tell the joke.
Tom Griswold
I've never been more upset that I've opened my mouth in my life.
Bob Kevoian
This guy walks into a barber shop. He says hey, Bob Peters here looking for his buddy. Bob Peters, the barber.
Tom Griswold
Boy that ruined the joke right there.
Josh Arnold
He just got here looking for his fellow man.
Tom Griswold
Yeah,
Christy Lee
Peters here is what it. I thought.
Josh Arnold
Let's get to history.
Bob Kevoian
I think the joke is bobbing for Peter.
Tom Griswold
No, no, no four.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, well let's. Today's kind of a. This is a good day to do something important because the stuff that happened.
Tom Griswold
I bet you something unbelievable happened today and you're just not aware.
Bob Kevoian
Well, this was. You'll like this. In 1942, on August 13th, they started the Manhattan Project.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, they did. Kids just.
Bob Kevoian
Christy.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
The beginning of the atomic bomb era.
Tom Griswold
Kids born there didn't get a city. They got a post. Post office box.
Bob Kevoian
They were the man.
Christy Lee
You're exactly right.
Tom Griswold
Very, very secret.
Bob Kevoian
Very, very. They named it that because they didn't. They. They weren't going to name it like big Boom Boom.
Josh Arnold
Right, right, right.
Christy Lee
Might give it away.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. But the Manhattan Project, it sounds like. Hey, they must be making them fancy bourbon drinks, eh? Mixing the Manhattan.
Tom Griswold
You know, when the Germans split the Adam Oppenheimer had a formula for A bomb in, like six days on the black board.
Josh Arnold
It's so funny because reading that book, I, I. They immediately just jumped to weapon. Jump to immediately jump to weapon.
Tom Griswold
But they were correct.
Josh Arnold
I. I know. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
It's crazy, right? Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
1997. This is good. The first episode of South Park.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Boy, I remember it. Oh, man, it was.
Tom Griswold
Oh, the aliens probed me or something like that.
Josh Arnold
I was a freshman in college and that became the Go to common room.
Tom Griswold
We got the video here. Remember this?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Before they sent you.
Tom Griswold
They sent it to Clooney, I guess.
Josh Arnold
And somehow trickled down the thing they made.
Tom Griswold
Brian Boitano.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Jesus skating around. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The first episode titled Cartman Gets an Anal Probe.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's it.
Josh Arnold
Hilarious.
Bob Kevoian
Now, let's see. See, that's pretty much it. Let's go to birthdays.
Josh Arnold
All right. Yeah. Don't be disappointed. We have birthdays to celebrate.
Bob Kevoian
1860. Annie Oakley.
Pat Godwin
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Little sure Shot. Dark County, Greenville, Ohio.
Bob Kevoian
Wouldn't that be a good name for a rapper?
Tom Griswold
Little sure Shot.
Bob Kevoian
Little sure Shot.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Beastie Boys have a song called sure Shot. Sorry to bother everybody.
Bob Kevoian
It's okay. Did you know that the Beastie Boys.
Josh Arnold
Please, please. Beastie Boys.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, sorry. You have. The fight for your right to party was meant to be a joke.
Josh Arnold
Well, it kind of is. It's a semi novelty.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but no, no, it's a great song. But it became kind of a celebration. Kind of a frat boy celebration. It was kind of mocking that. Never mind.
Josh Arnold
Really?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
That surprises me.
Bob Kevoian
And they stopped doing it live after a while. They were. Let's get to this one. 1899, Alfred Hitchcock, film director, of course. And the only thing.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Not the. The paint dealer. Yeah. You want your kitchen painted in a day and a half. Alfred Hitchcock.
Bob Kevoian
I told you our babysitter the other night had never heard of Paul Newman. So I'm sure Alfred Hitchcock is even less well known than that.
Tom Griswold
It's impossible. Oh, I bet you more people know who Alfred Hitchcock is than Paul Newman.
Bob Kevoian
I'm sure you think.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think.
Christy Lee
Oh, I don't think so.
Tom Griswold
How do you figure?
Al Jackson
What was the.
Producer/Engineer
Newman.
Josh Arnold
Newman was in a Hitchcock movie.
Pat Godwin
He was?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Mar.
Bob Kevoian
No, Marty.
Tom Griswold
No, that's. That's a part.
Josh Arnold
I forget which one it is.
Christy Lee
Sorry.
Bob Kevoian
But in any event, Butch Cassidy and Vertigo.
Tom Griswold
Isn't that it?
Bob Kevoian
Butch Cassidy and Norman Bates, they get
Tom Griswold
dizzy and fall off the cliff.
Bob Kevoian
They climb the Statue of Liberty with Robert Cummings. This is in the fun fact category, Christy. Alfred Hitchcock.
Christy Lee
Portly J is it his birthday today. Is that why you brought him up?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
1899.
Josh Arnold
Torn curtain. Thank you.
Tom Griswold
Torn curtain.
Bob Kevoian
He hated eggs. He was. He found eggs to be revolting.
Josh Arnold
That's why he thought the birds was so scary.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that deserved a little more.
Bob Kevoian
No, I don't think so.
Tom Griswold
No, it's pretty good.
Josh Arnold
No, I don't think so. From.
Tom Griswold
No.
Bob Kevoian
Does. Is there a scene with eggs and birds?
Pat Godwin
Layers.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, well, birds fly.
Tom Griswold
Every time he decides to cuss you out, the Joe our show jumps up eight.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yeah. There's a whole thing. He said he hated eggs.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Tom Griswold
There's a lot.
Christy Lee
I hate mayonnaise. What's the big deal?
Tom Griswold
Don't hold me to this. Paramount plus has all the Alfred Hitchcock Presents and go. If you want to have a fun afternoon, watch like 20 of them and you'll see every plot that's ever been made in any movie ever.
Josh Arnold
His intros are always fun.
Pat Godwin
Fun.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Remember he. And he'd walk into his silhouette.
Tom Griswold
I love.
Josh Arnold
That's a great theme song too. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
There's a really good scene in Peter Wolf, the lead singer of the Jay Giles band has a memoir. And there's a. This.
Tom Griswold
Nobody cares about this.
Bob Kevoian
How dare you insult the Jay Giles band. Peter Wolf is called. Called to Hitchcock's house because he was thinking of making a movie and he wanted to have some music for. From, I guess, like Jay Giles. Whatever. Peter Wolf gets there and he keeps getting offered. It's like noon. He keeps getting offered. Would you like some. Something to drink? Something. And he doesn't want anything to drink. And then he later finds out that Hitchcock's wife wouldn't let him drink unless he was entertaining and someone insisted on having booze with him. Apparently quite the booze hound. Now, let's see. That's almost it for this date. Oh, Happy birthday. Fidel Castro, known now mostly as a fashion icon for kids that don't know what's going on.
Tom Griswold
Well, they're both dead, right? Both of Castro. The brother.
Christy Lee
He's a brother?
Tom Griswold
I think so. Is Raul dead or. Sister?
Christy Lee
I think so.
Josh Arnold
I think he was just arrested, wasn't he?
Tom Griswold
Was he?
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Why do I think Raul's dead? Oh, no, I tell you why. I think he's. He never calls anymore. Oh, yeah? Yeah. I thought we had a thing going.
Bob Kevoian
We're bigger than U S. Steel. What was the famous story? The.
Christy Lee
Oh, my gosh, he's 95 and he's still going.
Bob Kevoian
Raul. Now Fidel's. Fidel is gone.
Christy Lee
Fidel's gone. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
The woman that introduced Fidel Castro to a strap on.
Josh Arnold
What's this?
Bob Kevoian
She was infidel. Classic. Okay, never mind classic.
Tom Griswold
You should mumble classic to all your jokes.
Bob Kevoian
I'm going to 1930. Don Ho. Don Ho. The tiny bubbles.
Josh Arnold
How rude of me.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. And his, his brother. Hi.
Tom Griswold
But he was a, he was a short.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, he was hi ho.
Bob Kevoian
It meant to be ironic.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Let's see. Janet Yellen. Wasn't she like the secretary of the treasury? Okay, that job is tackle thing.
Christy Lee
I'll tell you very.
Tom Griswold
Now Classic.
Bob Kevoian
I love this guy. Pat, you know this guy is actor John Slattery from Mad Madman. White haired guy.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, he's great and everything.
Christy Lee
Yeah, he is wonderful.
Bob Kevoian
And he's a expert surfer. Did you know that? Serious.
Christy Lee
Quite a few.
Tom Griswold
I'm trying to think what the pun is between.
Pat Godwin
You're smiling.
Christy Lee
He's right. No joke.
Pat Godwin
Joke.
Bob Kevoian
He really is. Okay, what's coming up in the world of news? Christy Lee?
Christy Lee
Coming up we have Al Jackson. That's news all right. We love him, but we still have to get to our animal hunk. We got goose, raccoon dogs in the news. And Domino's making news today.
Josh Arnold
The pizza or the game?
Christy Lee
The pizza. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
This is a good story and I can't believe it's been this long since they've done it. You'll be quite surprised. We are in the O'Reilly Auto park studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

Hello there. There's Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Tom Griswold
Hello there. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Oh, hey, man. There's Ace Cosby.
Producer/Engineer
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Huh. I'm Chick and hello, Tom. What do you got over there?
Bob Kevoian
I, I've got, let's see a view to the right. There he is. It's a comedian, Al Jackson.
Josh Arnold
Hey, Al.
Bob Kevoian
Joining us.
Al Jackson
What up, y'?
Tom Griswold
All?
Bob Kevoian
Good to see you, Al. Anything unusual going on in your life right now? You look, is that an outdoor jacket you've got on on?
Al Jackson
No, no, Tom, I'm surprised to hear that from you because I a lot like you have realized that I'm Just starting to get down to one outfit. I found a bunch of these shirts on teemu and I got them in all different colors and I just wear them. Yes. I look like a. A guy that teaches guys in jail how to rap to take care of their feelings rather than use violence. But I don't care.
Christy Lee
Wait a minute. It kind of looks like shirts Tom would wear.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but it looks like it's leather. I thought it was.
Al Jackson
You said I was wearing a leather shirt at 6:20 in the morning.
Bob Kevoian
I check local listings. I don't know what time. Yeah, no, it looks great. Very nice, Very nice now.
Al Jackson
Thank you.
Bob Kevoian
Al Jackson, comedian.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Helps us every week. Helping me primarily with my. With my street sense. Yes, yes. The other day out, we were celebrating. Are you aware of this? They actually have pinpointed, in theory, the invention of hip hop. The actual creation goes back to one event in the seventies.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I love. I love this white splaining.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Al Jackson
One single house party.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
A birthday party where a guy had
Bob Kevoian
two turntables and a microphone.
Tom Griswold
Bottles of cans. Just clap your hand. Just clap your hands.
Bob Kevoian
Now, I. I bring this up because I know you do a little. Besides standup comedy, you are on occasion a dj. Is that correct?
Al Jackson
It is true. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. You got your. You still have your turntables.
Al Jackson
I do. Look right here. I have actually. These are the mini turntables I used the last time we were at the casino.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, Yeah.
Al Jackson
I travel with these. And weirdly, at first I thought I boug them, I think from Amazon maybe like four or five years ago. And I thought they were just kind of like a novelty.
Josh Arnold
These, like, work.
Al Jackson
They're great. It's really just a smaller turntable. I thought it was like, kind of like, oh, something fun. Is your desk.
Josh Arnold
Like.
Al Jackson
No, you can plug that in and use that at a nightclub. So. But I have my. My big ones. But, like, taking those is like a pain. But it's worth. I loved. I love the dj. A lot of pressure. You'd be surprised. It's a lot of pressure.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I used to. In a much different form. I used to do high school dances. And you try. You can't. You just can't keep everybody happy. I mean, not everybody wants to hear Led Zeppelin going into the hokey pokey.
Al Jackson
I mean, people don't. No matter what you do, people are mad. They're not even mad. They'll just keep coming up. Can you play Ludicrous? I played that two songs ago, but it's my friends. But I don't care. There's so many people here. I cannot just play your drunk friend song.
Bob Kevoian
What is your times? What is your go to? That always works.
Al Jackson
Honestly, when I was DJing almost every week during weekend, during, like when the COVID bands were lifting, you know what used to get. Depending on the demographic because the demographic of the crowd is a lot. But if it was like very mixed, like late 20s to mid-50s. Late 50s. Honestly, Lizzo. Yeah, Lizzo would get people going. Prince, Erotic City always worked. They're just a couple songs that just like, everybody will all universally love. You know what song is like even when you play it now, even though it's almost 30 years old. Forgot about Dre. The one that. The one that just. It is like, it just came out. Everyone. Everyone loves it. No one goes, why are you playing this old song? It's just like, there's some songs that are like, almost like permanent hits.
Josh Arnold
Would you DJ cool in that category? Let me clear my throat.
Al Jackson
Yeah, that's a. That's a great. You know, that's so interesting you said that, because when you're playing a lot of hip hop, that was always a song that I would put on. If I needed to find two or three songs to play in a row, and I knew I needed like three minutes to kind of track them down, I would put that song on because it's a great song to bridge off of.
Josh Arnold
I can't sit still during.
Al Jackson
Yeah, everybody love. Dude. There's just some songs, Josh, that people just love. They just love to dance. And that was definitely one of them.
Bob Kevoian
The fact that you'd use that to stall reminds I. I'll let Christy finish my sentence here. Back in the day, when we were playing record records, if you. Especially on the weekends, if you heard
Christy Lee
and it got a devita.
Producer/Engineer
David.
Bob Kevoian
It meant that there was either sexual activity going on in the room closet or someone had had a stomach issue and had.
Josh Arnold
You guys would play the 17 minute.
Christy Lee
Hell yeah, we did.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Christy Lee
That's why it was.
Al Jackson
You need a break.
Christy Lee
We could play the album.
Bob Kevoian
And I. I had to work country music, when it was. When none of the songs were more than two minutes long, I did too.
Pat Godwin
And.
Bob Kevoian
And they were all on. They were all on record. So you were really scrambling.
Al Jackson
That's a lot of pressure. Like those short songs. I. I always wonder, like, if people understand if you're gonna. If I'm gonna do like a two minute song, I already have. Like, I have to have a song that I know is gonna play. And I'll usually Loop that last kind of. Of transition word, and then I'll jump from that. But it's. It's. It's a lot of pressure. You don't have that kind of give us a. Give us a bridge and give us a 3 1/2 minutes song, and I'm happy.
Christy Lee
Do you have playlists already made up or do you just do it all on the fly?
Al Jackson
I do have playlists, but they. They change because music, especially depending on what nature djing. And Friday, Saturday. Yeah, they don't want to hear your old man Al mix and stuff I like. So then I have to kind of go track down and, like, see, like, I'll ask my friends that are still listening to, like, contemporary music, like, and then I'll. I'll go through that and kind of find what I like. But, yeah, it's making a playlist. If you're playing, like, Fridays and Saturdays, you got to be kind of up to date. And it's. I don't know. I'm not going to do that.
Bob Kevoian
You ever do a wedding? You ever have to DJ a wedding?
Al Jackson
Yes, I did, Tom. Yes, I did.
Bob Kevoian
How do you get that crowd on the dance floor?
Al Jackson
Well, it was a strange wedding. It was one of those things where I did it for a friend, and they were like, we're so honored you're going to DJ for us. And I started DJing, and it's kind of like in this cool, funky warehouse. And, Tom, there's nobody there. When I'm sending videos to my friends, like, there's no. There's like one or two people walking around this weird thing. And then all of a sudden, both wedding parties show up blitzed. I mean, beyond alcohol and just. It was a mess. And I will just say this. Somebody in the wedding party. I'm not saying who. I gotta say this in a weird way, just comes up to me and goes, don't tell so and so. But everyone in here is a drug dealer.
Bob Kevoian
It's like, what is happening right now?
Al Jackson
It was the weirdest gig. You just, like, unlock this memory that I've buried. And I was like. I dragged all. I was like, ready. I had all my wedding songs ready. I don't know what was going on. It was a wild affair. I will tell y', all off air. But it was. It was. It was the. Wow. It was wild.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, well, now we have to push forward here. It's a vocabulary lesson for me. I need a new phrase or word to use this week on the stream streets. Let me know what is it on the streets? Yes.
Al Jackson
On. On these streets? Well, Tom, you know, we talked a lot about emojis last week, and I went down a bit of a rabbit hole, so we'll see if we can get a couple of these in. Let's start easy. Tom, if I sim. If I text you a baseball cap. What am I saying?
Christy Lee
Wanna go to a game?
Josh Arnold
Are you telling him to put a lid on it?
Christy Lee
Oh, I like.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's a good guess.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Al Jackson
It was actually, like, one of our first, like, slang words. Oh, like ground zero.
Bob Kevoian
Is it in response to something, or you just. I don't know where you send a baseball cap.
Al Jackson
What does cap mean?
Josh Arnold
Oh, yes, Always.
Bob Kevoian
This is in the street phrase. Put a cap in your ass.
Al Jackson
No, no.
Bob Kevoian
Sorry, sorry. I was just going right for the cause. See, when I say the street, Al. The street that I live on, really not a lot of caps and asses.
Al Jackson
Really?
Bob Kevoian
What does cap mean?
Pat Godwin
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
I give up. What is it, Josh?
Josh Arnold
Oh, it means. It's essentially short for capital capitalized.
Tom Griswold
I've always heard no cap is what I've heard.
Josh Arnold
Right. You'll hear no cap, too. And it just means, like, not lying. Right, Right. Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
It's true. It's the truth.
Tom Griswold
No cap.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Al Jackson
Like, no lie. Yeah. No cap. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's confusing. I don't even get.
Josh Arnold
That's why we learn.
Bob Kevoian
Well, what does it mean, no cap?
Josh Arnold
You just. Just take it for what it is.
Bob Kevoian
What does that have to do with baseball?
Christy Lee
Nothing. Nothing.
Josh Arnold
He just said, if you. The emoji of a cap.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Pat Godwin
All right.
Josh Arnold
Oh, boy. You can't.
Al Jackson
How did town pull baseball into this and then get mad at us?
Tom Griswold
I know.
Bob Kevoian
It's a baseball cap, right?
Tom Griswold
He's getting worse.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, Al, did you see the thing where the. I know. You're a baseball guy. Colorado Rockies. Did you see the thing where the. At the Chicago White Sox game, they had Pope night and everybody. They had the pope hats.
Al Jackson
That was so cool.
Producer/Engineer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Here's my idea, because you know how I feel about.
Tom Griswold
Again with this.
Bob Kevoian
About the diverse importance of culture that we have in our society of source of sorts.
Josh Arnold
Well said.
Bob Kevoian
How about. I think that was almost a sentence. I'm gonna work on that.
Tom Griswold
You're doing good work over there.
Bob Kevoian
How about like, a cultural diversity night where you have various religions show up? So you'd have the section with the pope hats, and then you'd have, like, the Sikhs with the turbans over here in left field. Whatever you want to do. And you think this would work?
Josh Arnold
It's Holy War night here at Fenway.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, But I just. As I said earlier, I don't want to sit in the.
Josh Arnold
He doesn't even know what to do with this.
Bob Kevoian
I don't want to sit in the same section where the snake handlers are.
Al Jackson
I don't think that that's. Look, I. I will say the reason I'm not completely making fun of that is because a lot of these teams are realizing that a very niche game night is the way to go. And the reason I was. What I was thinking about that is religion is almost too broad. Tom. We live in a niche world. The Colorado Rockies did a Jersey giveaway for. Do you guys know what dragon smut is?
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Josh Arnold
We talked a little bit about it the other day.
Al Jackson
Yes. Christy Lee, there is a whole world, a bigger world than you, you, you. We can imagine that. Of people that are into dragon romance novels. Oh, it's like, it's novels. It's like auditory and like, you're just reading erotic novels, but it's like a whole.
Christy Lee
Like, I'm having sex with the dragon, I think.
Al Jackson
I don't know if the dragons have sex so much. It's that you bond with your dragon.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Al Jackson
And then, like.
Bob Kevoian
So the Rockies have dragon night.
Al Jackson
Yes. Tom, it was huge. The jerseys were. Are a super hot commodity. Look it up. It's called Florida fourth wing. And it is bigger than you can possibly imagine. And like, those kind of giveaways, like these weird things where you're like, who is into, you know, erotic plumber, whatever. Like, there is. There's millions of people, and this, this, this dragon smut is. And these are the kind of nice. It's called fourth wing, but it's called dragon smut.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but the Rockies didn't advertise it as dragon smut night, did they?
Tom Griswold
I think they.
Al Jackson
They didn't really have to. Every. It was sold out.
Bob Kevoian
So my idea. My idea of having the. An interfaith night isn't going to work with each faith. Where's their particular religious cap? Maybe the.
Al Jackson
You know what I would do?
Bob Kevoian
The Greek orthodoxes put on ZZ Top beards and. No. How about.
Al Jackson
How about we do send the hottest person from your faith life? That would do it. That would, like. It has to be something where, like, there has to be a competition as well.
Bob Kevoian
Really? So some of these sex would show a little bit of ankle.
Al Jackson
I don't think. I don't. You know me. I. I think less is more. I don't think you have to show a lot of skin I think let the mind. My girl Corinne would always say she didn't want to send see guys on like hinge with their shirts off. She's like, I see you have a nice body. I want to. I want something more up to the imagination. So I'm. I'm kind of down with that.
Josh Arnold
Why aren't we letting these two weirdos just talk?
Bob Kevoian
We gotta. We gotta break it. Break it off. Al, you working this weekend?
Josh Arnold
Are you.
Bob Kevoian
Are you on stage?
Al Jackson
No, I'm not on stage. I'm off for another two weeks. So I'm just chilling. I'm enjoying the rest of my summer and I'm about to go out on tour which all my stuff will be on Al Jackson ig. So just check me out there. Follow me, y'.
Christy Lee
All.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, thank you very much, Alex.
Al Jackson
I love you.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, dragon stuff.
Josh Arnold
Whatever.
Christy Lee
So he said fourth wing, right? Yeah, yeah. It's a smash hit novel by and it started a whole empire Emperor in series. So it's amazing. A 20 year old girl has she's got to survive dragon training in a military school.
Bob Kevoian
That's right.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
And it and it. And it filled the stadium at a
Christy Lee
baseball must bond with a dragon and graduate or you die.
Josh Arnold
Oh yeah.
Christy Lee
All right.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Weird.
Tom Griswold
That's some hot heat, baby.
Bob Kevoian
My idea of having the yarmulkers in left field on the wow and the miters in right field isn't going to fly right now. What's flying out there? Prices. They're sky high. And if you'd like to maybe get rid of those 20% plus credit card bills you're trying to pay off, maybe American Financing can help you out. What they're all about is taking advantage of the value of your home. If you owned your house for five years, it's probably worth 30, 40% more than it was when you bought it. You can take advantage of that. Grab that cash without selling your house by doing a refi. Pull some of that money out, maybe pay off those heavy credit cards that are charging you so much money. By the way, no upfront fees at American Financing. You can find out by visiting them@American financing.net. the idea is to take advantage of the all the boats floating a little bit higher in the world of real estate. You can, instead of selling your house, you can just refinance it and take advantage of that. By the way, they're urging me to tell you to check in with them soon because it's quite likely that rates may be going up in early September. Get the details by calling American financing at 866-889-2611 or a lot easier to remember this American financing.net, and please do americanfinancing.net bobandtom so the folks at American Financing know that we sent you.

Tom Griswold
hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom show in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee at the news desk. Hi, there's Pat Godwin.
Al Jackson
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Oh, there's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi there.
Tom Griswold
Ace Cosby's here. Hi, I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Chick McGee.
Tom Griswold
What do you got over there, bud?
Bob Kevoian
Enjoyed your sports cast very much.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
We're going to check in.
Christy Lee
Enjoying your newscast very much, too.
Bob Kevoian
I was just gonna say we're gonna check in. Very enjoyable newscast, Daddy.
Josh Arnold
Proud of me.
Bob Kevoian
We have, we have a couple of happy stories.
Al Jackson
Oh, good.
Christy Lee
A Texas family and their barn animals are safe following a fire thanks to the efforts of their pet goose, Khou.
Josh Arnold
He's a volunteer firefighter.
Christy Lee
The four month old goose named Goosey alerted the.
Tom Griswold
Come on. Come up with a name.
Pat Godwin
Lazy.
Christy Lee
Alerted the Gerber family to the barn fire by honking the alarm. That's right. Gerber told the station he was able to put out the flames with a hose. All of the animals housed in the barn were saved. What'd you name your Goosey's warning?
Josh Arnold
Honky?
Tom Griswold
Anything?
Bob Kevoian
No.
Tom Griswold
Like Steve or Gary or.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Christy Lee
Goosey had been adult. What color are geese Just four months earlier.
Bob Kevoian
Are they.
Josh Arnold
I think it varies.
Christy Lee
I think they think they come in different colors.
Bob Kevoian
Get a white goose.
Tom Griswold
Yes, I think they absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
Clearly that would be honky.
Christy Lee
Oh, my God.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I was just, I just met the sound. I didn't realize or did.
Bob Kevoian
This is happy. It's kind of a sweet story.
Josh Arnold
It's very sweet. I'm glad everybody.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Critters are safe.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
A barn fire is nothing.
Tom Griswold
I've never eaten. I've never had goose. Never had duck. Never had pate.
Pat Godwin
Duck's good.
Tom Griswold
Goose liver.
Josh Arnold
I was at a buffet. They had two different types of duck.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And then goose.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, really? So you get in line of duck, duck, goose, duck, duck, Very good.
Josh Arnold
And we'd all run around.
Bob Kevoian
That's a sweet joke. I like that very much. But fortunately, this. The goo. The goose also got away. His goose was not cooked.
Josh Arnold
No, thankfully. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
But it's kind of like the Flintstones, you know, they had all the. Like the critter. That's the record player.
Josh Arnold
It's a living.
Tom Griswold
It's that.
Bob Kevoian
I love that. I love those.
Tom Griswold
I like the little. Now remember, though, the baby woolly mammoth is also the dishwasher rinses the dishes in his trunk.
Josh Arnold
If you have. If you have geese.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And they do burst into flame. You want to smother it. You never put water on a geese fire, remember?
Bob Kevoian
I. You know something? The effort that went into that makes it worse.
Tom Griswold
It.
Christy Lee
And that they.
Bob Kevoian
I should have given that a hearty laugh.
Tom Griswold
I know he worked hard on that, but so do Washington.
Pat Godwin
Oh, no.
Josh Arnold
I. There was no work.
Bob Kevoian
Oh. So ever throw.
Christy Lee
Animal service workers in Dallas came to the rescue of a raccoon seen wandering a neighborhood for several days with a mayonnaise jar stuck on his head.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
That sounds like hell, man.
Tom Griswold
Well, there's a.
Christy Lee
Who. Who had a mayonnaise raccoon.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I hope it was a ghost. And he could make a goose salad.
Bob Kevoian
What?
Tom Griswold
You know, like.
Josh Arnold
I know you worked hard on that,
Producer/Engineer
but
Tom Griswold
chicken salad, you know better.
Al Jackson
So.
Bob Kevoian
I'm sorry. So there's. There's a wild raccoon.
Tom Griswold
Dunk it in the mayonnaise jar. Never mind.
Bob Kevoian
There's a wild raccoon out there.
Christy Lee
Yes. With a mayonnaise jar stuck on his head. They name the raccoon Cooney
Josh Arnold
Sticking with.
Bob Kevoian
No, no, no.
Tom Griswold
Mayonesa.
Josh Arnold
Mayonesa.
Bob Kevoian
They should have named it. Dude. What. What part of the country was this?
Christy Lee
This was in Dallas.
Tom Griswold
Duke's mayonnaise Fine product.
Christy Lee
Mayonnaise is what he was called by locals. Had been reportedly spotted over the course of multiple.
Bob Kevoian
Is it mayonnaise?
Christy Lee
I don't know. It's nesa. And then nessa to me is NASA because there's Mesa. It's not that Mesa.
Tom Griswold
Somebody has to shut up.
Bob Kevoian
So mayonnaise chip, though, could have been mustard. Poopon head. Hey, poop on it.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Tom Griswold
He wants that to be. He wants that to be a lot thicker. So bad.
Christy Lee
The little raccoon survived several days without food or water. He's in remarkably good condition.
Tom Griswold
I told you about my mustard.
Christy Lee
Released back in the wild.
Josh Arnold
Come back. We should have ended 10 minutes ago.
Tom Griswold
Shut the light.
Pat Godwin
Did somebody get the light?
Bob Kevoian
Are there pictures of this critter yes,
Christy Lee
if you want to see them. I don't have mayonnaise jar in his head.
Josh Arnold
Christy, I'm sorry. You read and we did not.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, look at that guy. That's a big mayonnaise jar.
Josh Arnold
You.
Tom Griswold
So you have a.
Pat Godwin
How do you.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, this is a. How do you get it off without getting glass in the guy's eye?
Josh Arnold
They didn't have to shatter it, right?
Bob Kevoian
What they do. Grease up his head and we didn't listen.
Josh Arnold
Christy probably told him.
Christy Lee
No, it's, it doesn't say it in the story either. Oh, well, it doesn't. Why would it do that?
Bob Kevoian
You close your eyes. Well, he's gonna manisa. We're gonna bust.
Tom Griswold
Fall out of the tree at some point. Bust the jar. Right.
Christy Lee
They were able to safely capture her despite several days without. It doesn't say how they got.
Josh Arnold
They captured it and they, they were able to lube it up or something and twist it up her neck.
Bob Kevoian
I bet, I bet they took a hammer and.
Christy Lee
No, they didn't.
Bob Kevoian
Why would they do that?
Christy Lee
Why would they do that?
Bob Kevoian
Cuz.
Josh Arnold
Why would they do that to poor you Can't. Poopon head.
Bob Kevoian
Was it Poopon head.
Tom Griswold
Oh, boy.
Christy Lee
Thanks.
Bob Kevoian
But that, See, it wasn't. It turns out it was Wasn't mustard. It was man.
Josh Arnold
No, no.
Bob Kevoian
So therefore it wasn't poop on.
Tom Griswold
But you can't just use man.
Josh Arnold
Never let the facts get in the way of
Bob Kevoian
poop on It. Sounds like a very rough, rough weekend at the holiday. And, well, I finally found my people. It's poop on It.
Josh Arnold
It's poop on Ed Week.
Tom Griswold
Somebody should take you down and build up a new person.
Josh Arnold
You know that?
Christy Lee
Can you do that?
Bob Kevoian
I'll try to find out how they
Josh Arnold
can also address your nickname today.
Tom Griswold
We had raccoons in this building back in the old part.
Christy Lee
Yeah, we did.
Tom Griswold
And they were urinating in the ceiling. And somebody in this room. Tom named it Rosemary Cooney and all her little.
Josh Arnold
That's cute.
Tom Griswold
That was the name of the, the raccoon.
Bob Kevoian
The great singer Rosemary Clooney.
Christy Lee
Sure.
Josh Arnold
Of course.
Christy Lee
The new study finds House. My house. That's a good song. Dogs can tell the difference between several human emotions just by looking at our faces.
Josh Arnold
No, they can't.
Christy Lee
Brain scans show dogs process smiles in a unique region of the brain. They also found distinct patterns of brain activity when dogs saw faces showing anger, sadness, and fear. Oh, they definitely know.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. You are skeptical. Oh, I thought I, I, I'm not.
Christy Lee
Oh, I'm not. Your dog doesn't look at you differently.
Bob Kevoian
My puppy can't tell the difference between carpet and grass.
Josh Arnold
Okay, yeah, that can happen.
Christy Lee
And we're talking about human facial expressions, not the difference between carpet and grass. Your dogs know when you're sad or.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely.
Christy Lee
Absolutely.
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
My dog, one of them in particular. We've had a lot of storms lately. He thinks thunders, you know, incoming shelling from the North Vietnamese or something.
Tom Griswold
I was just going to ask if your dog grew up in Hanoi. That's what I thought.
Bob Kevoian
I'm sorry, Christy.
Christy Lee
After 65 years, Domino's, the pizza place is finally releasing its first domino shaped pizza.
Bob Kevoian
This is a great idea.
Tom Griswold
No, no.
Christy Lee
Made for one. The Detroit style pizza, dubbed the domino, is shaped just like the brand's iconic logo and cut into two slices.
Tom Griswold
Great.
Christy Lee
The new customizable pizza will roll out in stores nationwide on August 31st.
Tom Griswold
I can wait. I think it's a smart idea.
Josh Arnold
You know, Josh, I don't care about this. No, it looks good, though. It does look delicious.
Tom Griswold
And it doesn't look like a domino.
Josh Arnold
I mean, to say it looks like a domino is quite simple.
Christy Lee
It's like a French breakfast.
Bob Kevoian
Well, it's a rectangular, right?
Josh Arnold
This is nothing. This is just a.
Bob Kevoian
Would you be happier if noble Romans had something shaped like a Roman helmet?
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
No. Okay, fine.
Josh Arnold
But wait, I mean, those were.
Tom Griswold
Are you trying to make a penis reference there somehow?
Bob Kevoian
So a Pizza Hut could make it shaped like a hut? I don't know. A primitive Zulu hut.
Tom Griswold
Jabba the Hut.
Josh Arnold
I hope you're having fun.
Bob Kevoian
I think this is a great idea.
Josh Arnold
Well, then order one.
Tom Griswold
Why are you subjecting us to it? Here's a pizza that's square. It looks like a domino.
Josh Arnold
It does look delicious.
Bob Kevoian
Do you know which pizza is famous for being square?
Pat Godwin
Square pizza?
Josh Arnold
There are a few.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
St. Louis has emos, which you got your jets pizza. Square beyond compare.
Tom Griswold
Jets pizza is amazing.
Bob Kevoian
Wait a minute. Square beyond compare, right? That's a great slogan.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. So that does well, but regionally, Jets.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Well, who do you have over there?
Bob Kevoian
I mean, in the history of pizza.
Tom Griswold
In the hidden.
Bob Kevoian
I wanted to find out what Detroit style pizza was.
Josh Arnold
That's where the sauce is on top.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah.
Christy Lee
Thicker crust.
Bob Kevoian
And the Original in the 40s, it was designed to look like an auto part.
Josh Arnold
It was.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, like a crankcase.
Bob Kevoian
It was square. It was built to resemble the automotive parts pan used in the factory.
Tom Griswold
Who knew?
Josh Arnold
So.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but then they've got St. Louis Pizza here. A thin crust with a Cracker like consistency, it says.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Do you buy that?
Josh Arnold
No, that's exactly what it is. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. And then that goes out. New York pizza, in my opinion, most overrated. Now come on, buy the slice.
Christy Lee
No, no, I'll fold it up and eat it like that.
Bob Kevoian
It's okay. Now what's coming up in the news? Christy Lee?
Christy Lee
We have Anthony Hopkins in the news and not for the movies.
Tom Griswold
Tony Hunky Ton.
Christy Lee
We have Baby shark. Shark. Shark in the news as well.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, the baby shark thing. There's a one really interesting fact about that that I was completely unaware of, which we'll find out about.
Josh Arnold
And what are we. Are we hitting like 15th anniversary of that?
Christy Lee
Ought to be maybe. Oh, more than that.
Tom Griswold
How many billions downloads?
Josh Arnold
10. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but there's a, there's an aspect
Al Jackson
to it,
Bob Kevoian
a milli vanilla esque aspect to the story.
Tom Griswold
I was watching.
Josh Arnold
Those sharks really weren't singing.
Christy Lee
Are you kidding me? They were dubbed by dolphins.
Tom Griswold
And I, I will be careful how I say this. I was watching a program the other night and for some reason S u r, I went off my, my Apple speakers and it started playing Baby Shark. And I don't know what happened.
Christy Lee
Are you watching Shark Week?
Tom Griswold
I tried to rewind it and find out what happened, but it just.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, weird.
Tom Griswold
It was wild. I don't know, maybe someone can.
Bob Kevoian
No. Right now.
Tom Griswold

Tom Griswold
welcome back to the Bob and Tom show in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Chrissy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Pat Godwin at the music desk.
Pat Godwin
Hello, Chick.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hello there.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Hello. I'm Chick McGee. Hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Now, Pat, you're back in good form. You've got your shoulder feeling better after that surgery. You're able to play the guitar again. Favorite us with a tune earlier today. You're going to be doing your live show on stage at the Astra Theater in Jasper, Indiana, Saturday, August 22.
Pat Godwin
Indeed. Astra and Jasper.
Bob Kevoian
You're going to be an Astra in Jasper.
Pat Godwin
Astra, the theater in Jasper, Indiana.
Bob Kevoian
That's helping.
Pat Godwin
That's what I said.
Bob Kevoian
Theastrotheater.com is where you get tickets for that show brought to you by the razor 94.5 the razor. You feel like playing another song for us, Pat?
Josh Arnold
Sure.
Pat Godwin
Got the water outside the rain's coming down Got people out there with the flowers. A harvest,
Tom Griswold
a harvest.
Bob Kevoian
What are you, what are you growing?
Pat Godwin
I'll tell you what I like to do though. I like to work in the garden naked walking around nude in the yard Sowing the seed in my birthday suit Grab a hole if it gets too hard I did some trimming oh, look how it's growing for all my neighbors to see. I'm into horticulture in a buff oh, the way that God made me. I get some dirt on my knees a little sun on my tush I like to plant my tulips by the bush when I'm gardening naked out new to New York oh, you know my plums are ripe, low hanging peonies ready to sprout when it comes to wearing clothes outdoors I'd rather go without. Or the pussy willow, keep it moist.
Josh Arnold
Roses, watch out for thorns.
Pat Godwin
They could tear my bulbs up pretty bad. Should I put on shorts?
Josh Arnold
Well, now I'm torn.
Pat Godwin
Gotta watch out for spider mites, snakes and ants when you're working in the garden without any pants Hold a batch of sweet potatoes and nibble on your huge tomatoes. Or when you're gardening naked out nude in the yard. Good morning, Ms. Johnson. Are you enjoying the view? Chicky headed Me? I was talking about the begonias job.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much that you guys were not impressed with what I thought was A cool story. Domino's pizza. Coming out with a domino shaped pizza.
Tom Griswold
Right back to that.
Al Jackson
Right.
Bob Kevoian
I, I, what, what would it take to impress you guys? You have any better ideas?
Josh Arnold
Well, that's not how life works. If something comes, if somebody comes out with an idea and it's just sort of there and we go, okay, okay, you, you don't go. Well, what would you guys have done? We don't work for dominoes. We don't yet.
Christy Lee
We're not pizza yet.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah, sure. Dream well, you should, you should. Heard him give him his motivational speech this morning before he went on the air. That was really something. Go out. Let's cream those guys.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Okay.
Josh Arnold
It's about fine. It's fine.
Bob Kevoian
Papa John's could do it. Shaped like a toilet seat.
Josh Arnold
I don't understand that. All right.
Bob Kevoian
Might be less than appetizing.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, there's a reason they haven't done that.
Christy Lee
Sir Anthony Hopkins, who famously portrayed Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, is releasing his debut album. The 88 year old recorded a collection of 12 compositions he created over six decades.
Tom Griswold
It rocks.
Christy Lee
Dr. Lecter pieces were conducted by Gustav Dudamel, performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, and recorded at London's Alexandra Palace.
Bob Kevoian
The Philharmonia Orchestra. Doesn't that sound like something from a Groucho Marx movie?
Josh Arnold
Yes, the Philharmonia.
Tom Griswold
I'm Curtis J. Flywheel and this is
Christy Lee
the album entitled Life is a Dream. Will be released by Deca Records August 21st.
Tom Griswold
Deca's a thing still?
Christy Lee
Yeah, that's what I, that's exactly what I thought, Chick. Sir Anthony first began playing piano at the age of four and began composing years later. He wrote his first piece, a Waltz, in 1960. Wow. When he was 22 years old.
Bob Kevoian
How did the thing go with Shatner doing the heavy metals? Anybody know?
Christy Lee
I don't know.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I don't know how. Just that well, it still hasn't come out.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think so. Oh, I thought he was doing it Lollapalooza or something.
Christy Lee
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
Live and in person. Who knows? Okay, well, this should be interesting. I don't know.
Christy Lee
The boy who performed in the video for the song Baby Shark is now making his K pop debut 10 years after first appearing in the most watched YouTube clip of all time.
Bob Kevoian
That's what I didn't. No, the most watched YouTube clip of all time is that stupid thing. Wow.
Josh Arnold
Makes sense.
Christy Lee
Over and over. Yeah, exactly. Mr. Park Gun Rong was just six years old when he Starred in the Baby Shark video. Yo. Paco currently has 17 billion views and counting. Now 17, Mr. Wurong is continuing his music career with the creators of Baby Shark, the Pink Phong company, and according to the BBC, is going to record songs under the name Baby Shark Boy. Okay. His first single, called Wave, features k pop star Ju Honey from the boy band Monstra X and is due to be released August 20th in Korea. August 19th in the US so we get it before even the Koreans do, huh?
Bob Kevoian
Now what I found out was the little research. The main vocal on Baby Shark. Not him, him. It was a 10 year old Korean girl named Hope Segoin.
Josh Arnold
Huh.
Bob Kevoian
So this is kind of a Milli Vanilli thing.
Christy Lee
So he's in the video, but she's singing this?
Producer/Engineer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
He didn't sing the song.
Pat Godwin
Huh?
Bob Kevoian
Well, well, well. Baby Shark boy.
Christy Lee
Maybe he doesn't. Maybe he can't sing. Maybe that's why he needs help from another person.
Bob Kevoian
Now, if you haven't heard Baby Shark.
Tom Griswold
No, no, that's okay.
Bob Kevoian
You don't want to taste it?
Pat Godwin
No, no.
Tom Griswold
I don't want even a nibble. No. If you haven't heard babies. There you go. That's enough.
Bob Kevoian
That's enough. But clearly it's a young lady.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Christy Lee
Little kids all kind of sound alike.
Bob Kevoian
They do. I should know by now. You think you would think I don't know.
Christy Lee
You've had enough.
Bob Kevoian
Once again, a. A little positive spin on a couple things Rod Stewart's doing. O had to have a stent put in his chest there.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
He had canceled a bunch of shows and he's going to take a month off. We hope the best for Rod. Hope he comes back soon.
Josh Arnold
No longer young. No longer young. This is new song.
Bob Kevoian
Do you think I'm seizing?
Al Jackson
Sorry.
Bob Kevoian
Also a cool story if you get a chance. Look around. Richie Blackmore actually took the stage with deep purple after 33 years. Went on stage and did smoke in the water.
