Josh Arnold
Well, that's a fitting way to start the weekend, if you ask me. Crack open a cold one.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yes, indeed. Hey. Hey.
Tom Griswold
Paul and Tom, by the way, never
Bob Kevoian
say crack open a cold one if
Josh Arnold
you're in a morgue. No, it has a whole other meaning.
Jess Hooker
A whole.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
You have the.
Bob Kevoian
Never mind.
Christy Lee
All right.
Josh Arnold
But that, too. Probably Starts the weekend.
Bob Kevoian
You're supposed. People keep beers in a drawer with a. You're at the morgue and the guy goes to get his lunch. Lunch opens up, move the toe tag. I want to make sure it's a Budweiser.
Josh Arnold
I. Oh, man. Lunches and morgues.
Christy Lee
I had. Well, in a blood bank. They. They kept the lunches in the.
Josh Arnold
Right next to the blood.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I mean, what else? Yeah, how about that?
Christy Lee
So that I saw that for. For real one.
Jeff Oskay
Well, your.
Bob Kevoian
Your blood type is Hellman's Mayonnaise.
Josh Arnold
That's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Tom Griswold
There's Jeff Osque.
Chick McGee
Hello.
Josh Arnold
Cosby's there. Hello, I'm Josh Arnold. Jeff is at the NHTSA sports desk. And there's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
We got a kind of a rotating cast this week here and there and everywhere. So Mr. Godwin will be back on Monday with his guitar. I can remind you that you can actually see him pre shoulder surgery on the tv. His comedy special is on the Dry Bar Network. That's something you can do this weekend if you're looking for something to do that's fun. A bunch of other cool stuff, of course, going on in the world. Also. This is the Post July 4th news hunk. I didn't give you the one about the poor guy that picked up something on the beach that blew off a body part. We'll just. We'll just forget that one. It's too depressing.
Christy Lee
A couple. There are a couple of blown off body parts during the fourth of July holiday.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but we got a good deep dive. We got a good one about a guy, a Navy veteran, a good, good man, wakes up in the middle of the night and his wife. His wife goes, house next door is on fire.
Josh Arnold
Oh.
Bob Kevoian
So we got video of the guy putting the fire out. Why would that be unusual? He's completely naked. Oh, wow. Well, I can understand that.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You wake up and someone says, hey, the house next door is on fire. You just rush to do what you gotta do outside. We do have video. Fortunately, the security cameras are late for us on the back on the backside. But, I mean, this guy's. This guy's a great American Navy veteran.
Josh Arnold
He did what he had to do.
Bob Kevoian
Sleeps nude. What expect him to do. Oh, the house next door is unfair. Excuse me. Let me go find my Levi's.
Josh Arnold
I bet some would. Dude, I know.
Tom Griswold
I'm putting on shorts.
Josh Arnold
Are you?
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah. My husband sleeps naked, but he keeps his shorts right next to the bed. I mean, he could put them on in two seconds.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I've had kids for so long that I always sleep in shorts now. Yeah, you just learn something is going to happen. You're going to get up. Whatever. You're going to get up and pee in the middle of the night and there's going to be a kid set. You don't want to. You don't want to terrify them. So, yeah, I have my. But mine, the shorts I wear to Beta, they're really, really, really worn out and they're perfect.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, they've been washed 10,000 times. They're. They're the. The same level as a vase's famous underwear right there. Maybe they don't have the drawstring anymore.
Christy Lee
Keep them from her. She might throw them out. Oh, no, she knows better.
Bob Kevoian
They're hidden.
Chick McGee
Oh.
Bob Kevoian
They have a special place. And I have a system of drawers that certain things go in the drawer for. Oh, yeah, I've got. I've got a whole. That's all down, but I'm looking forward.
Christy Lee
Sleep in the nude. Do you keep shorts right there?
Bob Kevoian
No.
Christy Lee
No.
Josh Arnold
So. So, yeah, I would be.
Bob Kevoian
So if your house catches on fire.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I'll take care of it nude. I don't care.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I was. I've told the story a thousand times because it's true. I was at a place called the Beaver Creek Lodge in Beaver Creek, Colorado, on a ski trip. And it was the. The place had just opened. I mean, it was. We were like the first guests ever. And the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and I went flying out and I had no clothes on and then the door locked and I beat on the. It wasn't a fire, actually, it was just the opposite. It was so cold outside, something had frozen on the roof and shot off the fire alarm. Yeah, lesson learned there. Also, when you're in a hotel, keep on the underpants because if the fire alarm does go off, you want to be able to. I mean, one of these days we may be seeing Josh's naked buns on the Channel 8 news. There's man fleeing home.
Josh Arnold
Hope everybody enjoys it.
Christy Lee
I would enjoy it. I think it'd be very nice.
Tom Griswold
Are you one. If the fire alarm goes off at the hotel, do you actually go outside?
Josh Arnold
Take my sweet time because it's happened six times to me and every time it's been a false alarm.
Tom Griswold
If I'm three floors or below, I'm not leaving.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Until I see trucks, I'll get.
Josh Arnold
I'll take my time getting dressed. I'll brush my teeth.
Bob Kevoian
That's what A lot of folks said at the World Trade center, you know, sometimes. Sometimes when they say, at least you
Josh Arnold
found the funniest angle.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, we got a. We also, we have a. A couple of world records today. Big week for the old folks. We got. What was the word? Non. Is it Nana? Generic.
Christy Lee
Nonagenarians even pronounce it.
Bob Kevoian
People in their 90s, God bless them, they're back in the news today with. With some world records. And then we have, believe it or not, yet another. We actually now have an authoritative bit of wisdom regarding dropping things into these so called vault toilets. This is a seas where people are traveling. You go to some of these roadside places, they don't have traditional sewage. They have what are essentially pits with, you know, toilets over them. And people keep dropping things in and going after them.
Christy Lee
I think that that would just be common sense.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, you would. I mean, the one we had was it two weeks ago. We had the poor guy that in Fresno that they had. The police had to come or. No, the fire department had to come, get the guy out. We've got one that's worse.
Tom Griswold
What. How valuable of a thing would you have to drop in there before you're climbing down?
Christy Lee
There's nothing.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, a gold bar.
Christy Lee
No, I don't care. I'll eat beans.
Bob Kevoian
In this case, the guy in Fresno, it was sunglasses. Admittedly, a nice pair of those Costas
Christy Lee
or Ray Bans, those couple hundred bucks, but still.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, those Costas Costa mucho. But we'll find out about that and perhaps the worst one of all time will revisit. I actually was sitting here by myself an hour ago and came across this story and started laughing just by myself. It is so grim. Also coming up in sports, we'll update you on the. On the World cup, etc. Etc. Today is National Kitty Day, Josh. I'll have you know that right now. And just by chance, we have a really sweet cat story.
Josh Arnold
Oh, how nice.
Bob Kevoian
In the news.
Christy Lee
You know what else it is? It's actual. It's national French Friday.
Josh Arnold
Oh, all right.
Christy Lee
Yeah. So you should all celebrate.
Bob Kevoian
French fries.
Christy Lee
French fries.
Tom Griswold
Which way do you go? What's. What's your go to fry?
Josh Arnold
Well, McDonald's, of course, but the shoestring, so.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, you like shoestrings?
Christy Lee
Yeah,
Tom Griswold
yeah, I like a crinkle. I've been on the crinkle lately.
Bob Kevoian
More surface area.
Christy Lee
Like Arby's has the crinkly fries. Yeah, like old school. Like diner.
Tom Griswold
Culver's.
Christy Lee
Yes, Culver's. Culver's has them.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I'm not a big fan of the hash mark ones.
Christy Lee
The waffle fries.
Tom Griswold
I'm with you.
Christy Lee
I am not either.
Tom Griswold
They have to be cooked just perfectly because if not, they're too doughy.
Bob Kevoian
Well, they get cold too fast.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Because it's like a car radiator.
Tom Griswold
Right. Too much surface.
Bob Kevoian
Too much surface area. I mean any engineer could have told them that. I know if I know that with
Josh Arnold
my lack of science, I find those to be delicious.
Bob Kevoian
Do you know?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Now do you like them? Because when you, you can dip them in ketchup and get even more because it's like.
Josh Arnold
No, the only time I really get them is Chick Fil A. Yep. And I would I dip those in honey mustard.
Tom Griswold
Oh, have you had the Mac and cheese at the Chick Fil A?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, pretty good.
Tom Griswold
I've been swapping out for the Mac and cheese.
Christy Lee
Oh, it is really good.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, well, it all sounds very.
Christy Lee
Some nuggets in there.
Bob Kevoian
Did we ever get to the shortest and longest films of all time? The. We. We had the ideal length of a movie yesterday.
Christy Lee
Yeah, we had that.
Bob Kevoian
We had that story. I've got a little bit of an update on what the. The. Some of the shortest, decent, high quality films of all time were. All right. And we'll get to that coming up this morning. And water skiing in the news. So you've got some really fun stuff right now. Christie Lee, you didn't water ski to work, did you?
Christy Lee

Howdy.
Josh Arnold
There's Jeff Oskate.
Tom Griswold
Hi, Josh.
Josh Arnold
Ace Cosby's there. Hey, I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Is this good luck when this happens?
Josh Arnold
What's that?
Bob Kevoian
You know, there are certain things, like if you wake up in the middle of the night and your clock says 1. 1.
Jeff Oskay
1.
Josh Arnold
Oh.
Bob Kevoian
Or 2. 2. 2. Or 3. That's good. Oh, yeah, I just picked up my stirring coffee. Like little, little paddles.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
With the Bob and Tom logo.
Tom Griswold
And.
Bob Kevoian
And two of them have stuck together.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that is good luck here.
Bob Kevoian
Is this good luck in the United States?
Josh Arnold
In America, yes.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. In Thailand, I understand that's very bad.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that. No. Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Bad things will happen.
Tom Griswold
Is this good luck I came. I had to take out the kitchen trash, and I walked outside, and it was really muggy. And I was like, I'm just gonna set it on my front porch. I'll come back later when it cools off and put it in the trash can.
Josh Arnold
Okay?
Tom Griswold
And I forgot to. So this morning, I walked out onto my front porch to seven cute little raccoons destroying everything. And so I got to sweep up garbage.
Josh Arnold
That is good luck.
Tom Griswold
Is that a good way to start?
Bob Kevoian
Everything will be good from now on.
Tom Griswold
Today, seven little raccoons, little babies. They were in the. They were in the bag. Out of the bag. Like, I thought they were all out. And I kicked the bag, and one scurried out. Oh, Jeff screamed real loud.
Christy Lee
Do they do that thing where they go they like.
Tom Griswold
No. Well, one did. No, they all. The second.
Josh Arnold
The great outdoors terrified eight raccoons.
Bob Kevoian
Let's see. Now we have. Oh, we got to get to some letters here. And our letters are brought to you by Hyundai.
Josh Arnold
Oh, really? That's right. Get into the Hyundai getaway sales event and get away with a deal. So. Right. It almost feels wrong. Visit Hyundai USA.com for details.
Bob Kevoian
Now, we've had kind of a musical chairs thing going on here today. Chicks out. Mr. Godwin is out. They'll both be back on Monday. Glad to have you sitting in, Mr. Oskay, but I don't know if you've already read this letter or not. This was because you sat in my chair the other day when I was delayed on a trip. It says, watching YouTube. I heard Tom read a letter giving a false definition of a tie stick.
Josh Arnold
Boy, that must have been a while ago.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I don't remember this. It says, Jeff, can you please tell me what's going on here? They're not dipped in anything. It's simply weed from Thailand. Tied to a stick.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Is that.
Christy Lee
You said it was dipped in hash oil, I think, right?
Bob Kevoian
No, I was talking about.
Josh Arnold
Oh, the letter did.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. I was just reading a letter.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
I thought they were dipped in hash oil.
Tom Griswold
No, they're just tied to a stick.
Bob Kevoian
So it's sort of like a kebab.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And is a shish kebab. Which is the shish. Which is the kebab?
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
Just the stick.
Christy Lee
The shish is the stick, isn't it?
Josh Arnold
That's so like a commercial.
Bob Kevoian
The shish is this, like, the she shed thing a couple years ago that they played endlessly.
Josh Arnold
So does the. Does the stick. Have you ever had a tie stick? No. Do you Know if the stick burns along with the.
Tom Griswold
No, no, you just take it off of the stick.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay.
Tom Griswold
I don't know what the point of the stick is.
Josh Arnold
Okay, I got.
Christy Lee
Wasn't that something that was really big in the 70s? I remember.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, No, I was talking about. There's this, I forget which book. There's this novel. I think it's. I think it's Richard Farinha's that been down so long it looks like up to me. I think, where they're dipping cigarettes and regular cigarettes and paregoric. Oh, God.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And then smoking them, which is. I, I'm not sure what that's supposed to do. I think that's. I think that was the novel. I'm not sure.
Tom Griswold
But messes you up.
Bob Kevoian
And now we like to do. We like to do today in history because we like to inform. And apparently I got one wrong yesterday, so I apologize. We were discussing birthdays and I mentioned the late Mitch Mitchell. And did you remember who that was? Christy Lee?
Christy Lee
Mitch Mitchell was a drummer for Jimi Hendrix.
Bob Kevoian
Very good, very good. And the source that I had had listed his birthday as 1947.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Big fan. Apparently Adam Silver says, I just. There are no words to express how much I appreciate what you guys do on a daily basis. You brighten my day. However, when I heard you mentioned Mitch Mitchell, it just didn't sound right. I double checked. It appears he was born on July 9, 1946.
Christy Lee
Oh, God.
Bob Kevoian
Huh. I appreciate the correction. I, I.
Josh Arnold
And he took time away from being commissioner of the NBA.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Is he still alive? Mitch Mitchell?
Bob Kevoian
I do not think so. Oh, I'm almost. I don't want to get this wrong.
Christy Lee
Okay. I could look it up.
Bob Kevoian
I do, I. But I do remember this. That Hendrix. Hendrix. He was discovered essentially in England. There were famous stories about him. He was taken over there by what was a Chad Chandler from the Animals. And, and he got on stage and Eric Clapton was blown away by how incredible he was. Then when he hooked up Jimi Hendrix, they got these two session guys that were really good. A really good bass player and drummer. Actually, the bass player was actually a guitarist that had never played bass before. In any event, he had them frizz out their hair so they looked like they had afros like Jimmy. They were two white English dudes.
Jess Hooker
They.
Christy Lee
That definitely is the picture I'm looking at.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. And again, lazy parenting Mitch Mitchell. Come on. John Johnson, Tom Thomas. Come on.
Christy Lee
Mitch Mitchell left us in November of 2008.
Bob Kevoian
Sorry to hear that.
Tom Griswold
I was never a big Hendrix like I like that one song, but I never along the Watchtower like to too much guitar.
Christy Lee
Oh, by the way, I see what you're saying.
Josh Arnold
I am. There are like 10 songs that I just cannot get over how cool they are. I do get what you're saying. Yeah, I get that way sometimes.
Bob Kevoian
You hear the story about him buying a Corvette?
Tom Griswold
No.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, he. Jimmy wasn't really a quality driver and apparently he got a big chunk of money from the first thing he does. Went on, bought a Corvette and pretty much drove it right into a street sign, as I recall. I read the book years ago, but
Christy Lee
I hate to burst your bubble, but his parents did not name him Mitch Mitchell. Oh, they did named him John Graham Mitchell. Oh, Mitch was a nickname.
Bob Kevoian
So his parents were hard working English people.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I apologize. So it was one of those nickname things.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
It'd be like if we called Josh Arnie.
Christy Lee
Right. Arnie Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Arnie Arnold.
Bob Kevoian
Or we called you Lili and people
Christy Lee
would really think I was Asian people.
Bob Kevoian
You know, people still think you're Asian.
Christy Lee
I know.
Josh Arnold
Lily, I think you were a panda.
Christy Lee
Right. Kind of wearing panda colors today.
Bob Kevoian
Let's see, once again, going through letters. If you want to reach us, Christy Lee, explain to people how they would do that.
Christy Lee
All they have to do is send us an email@bobandtomobandtom.com I have one from Jay from Kentucky. Jay says, I just want to let you guys know I'm leaving today for two weeks of vacation up north in Michigan, heading to Indian river in Sheboygan County. Got the boat ready, just got to make it through work. Oh, this was sent yesterday. So.
Josh Arnold
So there's a Sheboygan county in Michigan and then Sheboygan is in Wisconsin.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. The one in Michigan's a city.
Josh Arnold
I'm just glad that there are multiple Sheboygans.
Bob Kevoian
Different smellings.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no kidding.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Huh.
Christy Lee
Jay says, hope you all have a good day and I'll drink a beer for you. Well, thank you, Jay. Yes.
Josh Arnold
You have a great two week vacation.
Bob Kevoian
I have navigated the Indian river all the way up to Mackinac. It's a blast.
Christy Lee
Navigated it like in a boat.
Bob Kevoian
I did it in a motorboat.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Bob Kevoian
I've actually also been on it in a canoe. It's a great spot right off interstate.
Josh Arnold
What?
Bob Kevoian
Off the interstate?
Josh Arnold
Speaking of vacations, over the 4th of July weekend, I threatened. We had a Thomas. And I don't know if you were here for it, Tommy. A woman couldn't. Could not remember. A wife could not remember the name of the shop Vac. And so she. She asked her husband to move the suck bucket.
Bob Kevoian
I. If I were a billionaire, I would start a company just so I could say I manufacture the suck bucket. I buy the rights of the finest shop Vac out there.
Josh Arnold
And I declared that I would call one of my brothers over the fourth July weekend to suck bucket. And I am sad to say, I totally forgot.
Tom Griswold
So we could call them.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
The next time I see them, one of them will be referred to as a suck bucket.
Jeff Oskay
That.
Bob Kevoian
That really should become part of the common parlance, don't you think? Yes, you suck bucket. Oh, that's great.
Josh Arnold
Thank you, jj. He's in Kermit, Texas.
Christy Lee
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
I bet everybody from Kermit, Texas really gets sick.
Josh Arnold
They love when people do this.
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom show. Tom, the Hokey Pokey is dead. I have been a wedding DJ for the last 20 plus years. The hokey Pokey is dead. Right up there with the chicken dance.
Josh Arnold
That's up there too. Or that's dead.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, yeah, I. I think you've got a wedding where there are a lot of kids.
Tom Griswold
I.
Bob Kevoian
You throw on the chicken dance and
Josh Arnold
great aunts and stuff. Like to dance to that stuff because
Bob Kevoian
I. I used to do. Years ago, I was. I did a lot of high school proms and. And weddings and stuff. And. Yeah, those were. Those were very handy to have.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Bob Kevoian
The chicken dance in the.
Christy Lee
Yeah, I've been the Congo line.
Bob Kevoian
I forget what I played for that, though. I had something.
Christy Lee
I don't know.
Josh Arnold
You know what? You can't really conga to. Come on, everybody, let's do the conga. It's not. It doesn't really lend itself to conga ing, does it?
Christy Lee
I don't remember.
Josh Arnold
Come on, everybody want to do that conga. Gloria Estefan.
Christy Lee
It's way too fast.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I have no idea. That's what she was saying.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. You can't really conga.
Bob Kevoian
It's a great song, though.
Josh Arnold
I like it too. Is it Miami Sound Machine? Is that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. By the way, this is from Todd and Mr. Truax. He says, I get lots of requests for the Cha Cha slide.
Josh Arnold
I bet. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Play that funky music.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that's fun. That's a great wedding reception song.
Bob Kevoian
I find songs from the early 2000s to 2010 work the best for most weddings at this moment.
Josh Arnold
Makes sense.
Bob Kevoian
That's the current thing for the. For the wedding crew.
Josh Arnold
Apparently there are still wedding DJs too.
Christy Lee
Here's a wedding DJ. He goes, yeah. We start with play that funky music into Roof is on Fire than Friends in Low Places, apparently. That's a good one. Yeah. Closes the night with the Commodores. Oh, yeah. You gotta do a slow song at the end. Everybody wants to slow.
Bob Kevoian
Yesterday we had a visit from Ed Septic. I don't know if we have any of that audio. That would be nice to have. Ed did a medley of as. As Ed Zeppelin.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Of tributes. And as you know, Ed is of course, in the. In the septic business.
Christy Lee
Sure.
Bob Kevoian
Got this letter. This is from another person named Jeff. He said, I used to be in the septic business with my dad. One day we pumped a tank out for a guy and it was clogged up by several condoms. Oh, my dad said, you shouldn't flush those down. The guy stood there staring at him for a few minutes, looked up, said to my dad, I don't use condoms.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no.
Bob Kevoian
And he went into the house. We mailed him the bill.
Tom Griswold
Yeah,
Bob Kevoian
man, that's a bummer. I'll bet that's. Oh, boy, that's a rough one.
Christy Lee
That wasn't a good conversation.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, sorry.
Christy Lee
This is from John in Moekwa, Illinois. I'm not familiar with Moekwa. Moek. I heard you guys discuss fake boobs the past couple of days. I feel they should be called aftermarket boobs because you don't put fake wheels on your car. And if boobs are covered with skin, they're real to me. Thank you very much. Okay. They're covered with skin aftermarket.
Bob Kevoian
Well, yeah, that's because that suggests they're
Josh Arnold
used a little bit.
Bob Kevoian
Well, that was the new. The new story was in Russia.
Josh Arnold
It doesn't suggest they're used.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they are. There is a market for used. Removed the story. The essence of the story was the trend of having large fake breasts in Russia is apparently fading and women are having them removed, then selling them on the black market. Yeah, on. I guess the equivalent of e would be eboob.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The eBay of Russia, whatever it might be, which we also discovered.
Josh Arnold
Taxi.
Bob Kevoian
That is not. Wouldn't be Etsy, would it?
Christy Lee
No.
Bob Kevoian
See where you're going there? Apparently that's not permissible in the United States.
Christy Lee
No.
Josh Arnold
Thank goodness.
Christy Lee
It seems a biohazard.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. I mean, I should. Couldn't they be. I guess you couldn't put them in the microwave.
Josh Arnold
No, probably not.
Tom Griswold
You could probably put them in the fridge and then lay them on your eyes for, like, when your eyes are right.
Josh Arnold
Maybe if you score. If you can put them in the microwave. If you score them with a fork.
Bob Kevoian
We did have a guy yesterday that said he has a. They keep a fake, a boob, whatever in their freezer for just that purpose because it. Whatever is inside them doesn't fully freeze. So they're kind of pliable. Yeah, he said that when one of their kids, you know, clonks their head on something, they put that on, like an eye, which makes sense.
Josh Arnold
When one of their kids has a Boo Boo Boob.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. You're on fire.
Christy Lee
We just had Boo Boo Bear. We didn't have Boo Boo Boob.
Josh Arnold
Oh, you need Boo Boo Bear.
Christy Lee
I still have Boo Boo Bear.
Josh Arnold
Oh, of course. Why would you get rid of Boo Boo Bear?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
What's Boo Boo Bear?
Christy Lee
It's a little bear head face, and it's like stuffed on one side, and then the other side is a gel, like an ice gel pack. You keep it in the freezer and it's similar to that. It's kind of pliable.
Josh Arnold
And they have all kinds of animals too, that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Are you serious?
Christy Lee
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Someone pays money for that?
Josh Arnold
Hey, if it makes the kids shut up, I would imagine it's worth it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Here we go. This is the official story about the breast implants. This. The essence of this is the popularity of breast implants has dropped in Russia, with plastic surgeons reporting breast augmentation down 40% in the last decade in Russia.
Jeff Oskay
So.
Bob Kevoian
But then this is what the oddest thing is. Silicone implants are flooding the Russian Internet for resale.
Christy Lee
I find interesting, because if. What they must be doing, using them for a different purpose. Because if the breast implants business is down, why would people want to buy them? Do you see what I'm saying?
Bob Kevoian
Because you'd walk into a surgeon with your. Did you bring your lunch? No. These are the knockers I want you to install, Doc. And we. And we found out that the fake breasts. How. What did you just. How much they were they. Like.
Christy Lee
Like 1200-20.
Bob Kevoian
Is that per or per pair?
Christy Lee
I think that was a pair.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, then obviously the fee.
Christy Lee
And you got the fee to put them in.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that's. It's like.
Christy Lee
It's like the average breast implant according to the Internet. Don't yell at me. Was around 8 to 10,000.
Josh Arnold
Oh, done the operation.
Christy Lee
Gotcha. Done.
Bob Kevoian
And I would certainly recommend you go to a professional.
Christy Lee
Well, of course.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
We get the. We get those stories every now and then about. It's usually in Miami, Right. And it's someone who had their butt enlarged. And it turns out they were using that tire filler and they end up in the hospital or dead. Again, if you need plastic surgery, there's so many fine, fine surgeons up there.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Don't cut corners and save money.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Don't go to eboob or whatever it was called. Tetsy. Would you call tetsy? Tatsi is what I. Oh, Tatsi. Yeah, that's okay. That's certainly permissible. And as I mentioned earlier, this, the fact that the popularity of breast implants is going down explains the kind of correlates with the number of Hooters locations that are closer. I don't know how the, how that's going in the United States. We should look into that.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
But. And my feeling certainly is if, ladies and gents, if you need whatever you need, go for it. I had a good friend who had, had a. What's, what's it called? A rhinoplasty.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
And this was in high school, a good friend of mine. And he had. His nose was always kind of funky, but it wasn't a cosmetic thing. They went and they fixed it. And he couldn't get over the fact that you could actually breathe through your nose.
Josh Arnold
Amazing.
Bob Kevoian
He had never, he'd never in his life. He hadn't been able. He didn't even. He didn't know that he couldn't breathe. And he was just amazed to go, oh my God.
Jess Hooker
All this.
Bob Kevoian
I've spent the last 17 years and not been able to breathe.
Josh Arnold
I had that a little bit when the first time I had, I got glasses where all of a sudden I went, oh my gosh, this is what things are supposed to look like. I could read the book like my grades got better. Read the boards and it was crazy.
Bob Kevoian
It's amazing. Another medical recommendation from our show. Get your eyes checked, get your breathing checked if you can. Coming up, we have some pretty cool stuff in the news. Some fun stuff today. Yesterday that was, it was kind of a drag with that poor guy lopping off his genitals and setting him on fire.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That story was everywhere.
Josh Arnold
I saw his mug shot. I mean, he kind of a young dude and 36.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Was there, was there some kind of intoxicating.
Josh Arnold
Not that I saw in the story.
Christy Lee
So it was at his parents house.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, poor guy.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Once again, he lopped off his male member. And some of the news descriptions suggest that he cut off his genitals, but he then set them on fire in the garage. Yeah, yeah, but he was singing. His name was Chris. Right? It was like he was singing Chris is nuts. Roasting on an open fire. But it smelled like a nice barbecue.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that would be the worst.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, you're welcome. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
What if it smelled delicious? I know. Wouldn't that be the worst? To find out. Humans taste amazing.
Bob Kevoian
There's a. There's a. The only really good scene in the more recent. Most recent version of the movie. The Alamo. The Alamo story.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Billy Bob Thornton. It's not a great movie, but there is a. There's a scene in there where he discusses why he can't eat certain things. It's pretty grim. By the way, did you see the story about the guy, the flight instructor.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
That jumped mid flight?
Bob Kevoian
He's out there with.
Christy Lee
Yeah. With a pilot. With a student.
Bob Kevoian
He's out there with. Up there with a student.
Josh Arnold
How bad was the student doing that he jumped?
Tom Griswold
Well, it was a woman.
Christy Lee
Hey, hey, hey.
Bob Kevoian
And he said. And he says. He says to her something like, you know what to do.
Christy Lee
You know what to do.
Bob Kevoian
Opens the door, jumps out. No parachute. Jumps out to his death.
Josh Arnold
To his death. Yeah.
Christy Lee
She had to land the plane on her own, so. First solo landing.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Huh.
Bob Kevoian
Man, you have to wonder, is there something else going on there?
Josh Arnold
I. Oh, between those two. I think he was. She just got. She was the unlucky student.
Christy Lee
Right. I just think it was.
Josh Arnold
He was like, I'm doing this. So whoever it is.
Christy Lee
Yeah, he probably. Maybe he picked a student he knew could land a plane. Like.
Bob Kevoian
But wasn't it her first time?
Christy Lee
Her first time to land solo. Wasn't her first time in the air.
Josh Arnold
Oh, boy. You know what to do.
Tom Griswold
Scream.
Josh Arnold
What if he stepped out of the plane, put a cigarette to his mouth, lit it, stood there for a second and then looked down like in the cartoons. Oh, my God.
Bob Kevoian
And then dropped. Yeah, gravity. Gravity only takes effect when you become aware of it.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
That's the cartoon physics. Right. Now, I want to say, special thanks to nhtsa. They are sponsoring our sports desk. NHTSA has a message for you. When you speed, when you're driving, you've got less time to react, and whatever comes along is going to be crossing your path. So you got to be careful out there. A sharp turn might take you by surprise, could get you to veer off the road. Another car could turn out in front of you. If you're speeding, it could lead to a fender bender. A truck could break, suddenly injuring you and the other driver. If you're out there driving too fast, a cyclist could enter the road ahead, and your impact could send them to the hospital. A pedestrian could be walking their dog. You don't want to hit the dog, you don't want to hit the pedestrian. Of course, if your foot's too heavy on the gas, it could lead to a tragedy. NHTSA wants to remind you of all these things. You may not think about them, you may not think it could happen to you, but it happens every day. So be careful out there. When you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct, you don't have time to stop. Takes just an instant for disaster to strike. The speed limit isn't just there to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, everybody else sharing the road. So slow down, obey the law and keep everyone around you safe. Speeding catches up with you, paid for by nhtsa. Coming up, once again, we have some cool stuff in the world of animals. We're going to update you on that. We have today in history. Of course, we'd like to keep you educated. And we've got some old folks doing some really cool stuff and cat lovers today, National Kitten Day. And we just happened to have a really sweet rescue story about a kitty cat and a fire department. We're coming Back to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

Josh Arnold
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom show live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Howdy, Josh.
Josh Arnold
Jeff Hoskins at the NHTSA sports desk.
Tom Griswold
Yes, sir.
Josh Arnold
There's Ace Cosby. Hello. I'm Josh Arnold. Tom. What are we. Oh, do we still have some letters left? What's going on?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I got a kind of a serious thing I know need to mention. This is the CDC last week said in 17 states there was an illness kind of spreading around. It's gotten a lot worse in the last week, and a bunch of spots, especially in the Midwest, have been hit by this. It's called cyclospora. Yeah. And they literally. I'm not making this up. They use the term explosive diarrhea.
Josh Arnold
Oh, man.
Bob Kevoian
There are already 1200 illnesses reported. 500 in Ohio. This was. This was yesterday.
Jeff Oskay
So.
Bob Kevoian
Symptoms include severe watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea and fatigue. And the illness can last for weeks.
Tom Griswold
What?
Josh Arnold
Oh, my gosh.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. So. Yeah, watch it out there. And then this. What's odd about this is the CDC is not. Has not yet reported a source of what the. It's apparently a contaminated food source. Source. But this says health officials have still not identified what the contaminated food source is.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay. And I don't blame them for not speculating it.
Bob Kevoian
Would they. It just says they suspect produce. Wash your vegetables, possibly fruit vegetables.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
So anyway, that's. It's called cyclospora. It's out there. Be careful. If you. If you've got, you know, real bad stomach issues, you may want to talk to a proper physician. But it's out there. Sorry about the Stay hydrated and all that. Yeah. Yikes. Okay, well, that's on a very serious.
Tom Griswold
Sounds to me like a good reason to not eat my vegetables.
Josh Arnold
You think some kid is gonna look at his mom and go, hey, have you been watching the news?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Come on.
Christy Lee
French fries. It's French fry day.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, this. This account calls it. It cyclosporiasis, which sounds like you turn into a mushroom. But anyway, it's serious business out there. Don't mean to joke about it. Okay, Back to the. Back to our letters. Who's got one? Is it my turn again?
Christy Lee
Yep.
Bob Kevoian
We were talking about Kathy Rigby, the famous gymnast a while back.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Peter Pan.
Christy Lee
I was a big fan of her. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And is that Eleanor's daughter?
Josh Arnold
I think so, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Eleanor Rigby. She did have a lovely daughter.
Bob Kevoian
That's why I thought she and her husband. This is a letter. I'm sorry. From Katie. She and her husband are executive producers of a production company that runs plays at La Mirada Theater in Southern California. Oh, I saw her last year in a play called Peter Pan Goes Wrong. It's a cute play within a play where everything goes wrong for a fictional stage company trying to put on Peter Pan.
Josh Arnold
I love stuff like that.
Bob Kevoian
That's fun.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Peter Pan of.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Josh Arnold
I do. Dude. I love a farce about especially.
Tom Griswold
Who are you?
Josh Arnold
I'm kind of. I can be a theater nerd.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. I'm with you on this show. I think this is fun.
Josh Arnold
Especially it's somebody flying and they can't fly. Right. That always makes me happy.
Tom Griswold
And they're professional, but I could also see this being the thing that you hate the most.
Josh Arnold
I'd have to see it.
Jeff Oskay
But
Tom Griswold
just theater eating itself. Like I.
Josh Arnold
You. You. You know what, Jeff? You're not wrong. I. But I do. I would like to see this.
Bob Kevoian
But it's Peter Pan. There are professionals that go around the country.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Doing the flying.
Josh Arnold
Any kind of wire rigs going wrong will make me laugh.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
My favorite oversized Peter Pan. Are you in?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, sure. Where the. Where the. The producer's daughter is weighs 350 pounds, but they insist that she plays Peter Pan. That'd be great. I'd love to see it. There's a great flying stunt in the movie Good Neighbor Sam that always makes me laugh. Featuring the high lows. Let her put you in the driver's seat. You know what I'm talking about?
Jess Hooker
No.
Christy Lee
Have you seen Good Neighbor Sam?
Tom Griswold
No, but I'm going to.
Jess Hooker
I have.
Josh Arnold
It was on Turner Classic like a year ago. And I went, well, I have to watch it.
Christy Lee
Yeah. I never.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Was it good?
Josh Arnold
Yes, it's fine.
Bob Kevoian
It's a classic. Jack. You gotta like that tall Jack Lemmon thing. That reminds me of my parents, that. That era.
Christy Lee
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
The Jack Lemmon.
Tom Griswold
I like him.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, he's the best. In any event, this woman Katie is kind enough to write that. Kathy Rigby. Her. She and her husband put on this play and she goes, it was incredible. At the end, Kathy Rigby, age 73, flying over the audience, sprinkling them with fairy dust. Oh, wow. So. And once again, that's a version of the play in which they're making fun of the play, apparently, but we have
Christy Lee
a mutual friend who apparently is good friends with her and they're trying to arrange that I get to meet her at some point.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that'd be great. Be wonderful.
Bob Kevoian
She was your idol when you were a kid.
Jeff Oskay
Gym.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Well, yeah. That's how I became. Started doing gymnastics was because of her.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Mary Lou Retton was all the rage when we were growing. Oh yeah, yeah.
Christy Lee
Oh yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And. And unfortunately, I guess it's like we talked about this a little bit. Shoot. Kathy Rigby became famous because she was, I think. What's the word I'm looking for? Brave enough.
Christy Lee
She became the first to be celebrity to endorse a maxi pad.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh good. Yeah. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Cuz that stuff was. Although it's not giggle proof if you're as immature as we are. But.
Josh Arnold
But necessary.
Bob Kevoian
There was a time you couldn't advertise condoms.
Christy Lee
No.
Bob Kevoian
On the radio or t. When. When Bob and I started here, you. You couldn't advertise condoms. And then. Well, for sort of sad reasons, suddenly it became a very smart idea to advertise them. But we have a bunch of stuff coming up in the world of news I think you're gonna like today. By the way, speaking of stage plays, they're going to be doing a Dolly Parton musical. A musical with the songs of Dolly.
Josh Arnold
Smart.
Christy Lee
Smart. Yeah. Thank you. That's what I thought.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. They.
Christy Lee
Great idea.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
They've done a bunch of these and not. This isn't. This isn't one of those plays where they just take pop songs and, you know, cram them in. This is apparently a. It's. But it's going to have Dolly's own music in it. So what artists do you think would deserve a. A Broadway show? Because obviously they did the Four Seasons.
Josh Arnold
Well, they've done a lot.
Bob Kevoian
Jersey Boys.
Josh Arnold
They did Billy Joel, Moving Out.
Tom Griswold
That'd be good.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Now, is it a story about them or just their music, Their catalog?
Bob Kevoian
This one is, I guess, Dolly Parton's story.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay.
Tom Griswold
Maybe Gary Glitter.
Josh Arnold
There's a Greek tragedy there.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Did you see he was in the news yesterday.
Tom Griswold
No.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Or something positive.
Bob Kevoian
Oh no. New charges.
Christy Lee
Oh, no. I thought he was in jail still.
Bob Kevoian
He is.
Christy Lee
And they have new charges.
Bob Kevoian
Yep.
Josh Arnold
By the way, he calls it charges part two.
Bob Kevoian
For those of you that don't know Mr. Glitter, if you will, he is the guy behind the song you hear at every sporting event.
Josh Arnold
And Don't Sleep on Rock and Roll Part one. I like it a lot and I'm not kidding. Yeah, it's good. Have you heard it?
Tom Griswold
I don't think so.
Josh Arnold
It has lyrics and stuff.
Bob Kevoian
It's probably the most famous sequel of all time.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Musically, I can't think of another one.
Josh Arnold
It is the Godfather, Part two of songs. Yeah, Most people prefer that.
Bob Kevoian
Most people have only heard of that. And most people don't know what it's called. Yeah, it's just. It's that thing you hear at sporting events.
Josh Arnold
Kind of a kazoo sound.
Bob Kevoian
But he is, I believe he. If I read the article correctly, he's currently incarcerated.
Christy Lee
He's being charged with a historical sexual offense dating back to 1978.
Josh Arnold
Okay. Yeah. I mean, he's had a history of this.
Christy Lee
Yeah. And it's in line with that history that he already has.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Christy Lee
I don't want to talk about.
Bob Kevoian
But he's currently in a all men's prison.
Josh Arnold
Well, why'd they reward him?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Loving it.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, well, what's coming up in sports? You got any sports?
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. Lots of old people doing stuff. And when I say old. Over 90.
Josh Arnold
All right. I love. Don't you. Don't we all love this? I love it.
Tom Griswold
It gives me hope. Yes.
Christy Lee
Yeah, it does. Especially when your kids are being my age.
Tom Griswold
Hey, it's never too late, right?
Bob Kevoian
We got today's National Kitten Day. And we a happy. A happy kitty story in the news. We've got a brave Navy veteran, naked, doing a good thing.
Josh Arnold
Great. Good.
Bob Kevoian
The nakedness is really not the point of it, okay. He just happens to be naked. The fact that he's a great man because he was a Navy veteran is something else. I don't want to imply that he's doing this on purpose. You see, it involves a house fire. Sorry, I'm telling the story so improperly and backwards. It makes no sense. I did not mean to offend. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jeff Oskay
Hey, thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Get a look at today's show on our YouTube channel. Jim Rome takes on sports.
Bob Kevoian
I will always have a complicated relationship with this game, but people evolve. So do sports. Do not make me regret this. Do not make me devolve back to that guy. There's so many clones. Wish that I still was. And do not embarrass the entire country. Now I can go back. I can get there fast. Lose tonight and you got a real problem. Do not blow it.
Jeff Oskay
The Jim Rome show podcast.
Bob Kevoian
You've been warned.
Josh Arnold
Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
Bob Kevoian
I tell you later.
Josh Arnold
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom Show. Thank you for joining us. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee's at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Josh Arnold
She's trying to talk me into getting a cane corset.
Christy Lee
I was not trying to talk you into it.
Josh Arnold
You were bullying me. You held me down and you said, you will get one.
Bob Kevoian
Is that a giant dog?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
They're big.
Christy Lee
Their heads are as big as mine. I mean, they're.
Bob Kevoian
I love them.
Josh Arnold
There's. I don't know that I'd have one, but I love them. There's Jeff Oskay.
Jeff Oskay
Hello.
Josh Arnold
I don't know enough about their temperament. There's Ace Cosby. Josh, my concern would be your kitten. I don't. You know what's funny? My cats would love it. My cats love dogs, but dogs don't always love them.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Except possibly for lunch.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. There's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello. If you're just joining us, we've learned something today. What is it again? The these. The suck bucket.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Josh Arnold
For instead of a shop vac, call it a suck bucket.
Bob Kevoian
This is the Some lady couldn't think of the name of it. And that'd be a really good insult to have. It is in your. Your quiver, if you will. Yes, you suck bucket. Checking in on the sporting scene, we have Mr. Jeff Oskay sitting in for Chick McGee. What's going on over there?
Tom Griswold
Well, we have a bunch of old people in the news. We're going to do it in order of youngest to oldest.
Josh Arnold
All right?
Christy Lee
First of all, France won last night or yesterday.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. France over Morocco 4 to 1.
Christy Lee
Was it I2 nothing.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, I know.
Bob Kevoian
I should report this.
Tom Griswold
Soccer. It doesn't matter.
Bob Kevoian
You're at the. You're at the NHTSA sports desk.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you, NHTSA. Now, what do you got?
Tom Griswold
A 91 year old. We're going youngest. Oldest. A 91 year old British fan helped raise money for a local community group by going skydiving. The BBC reports that Alan Still Skydive raised over $6700 for the Raleigh center for the community of Cranleigh. The non agenarian.
Bob Kevoian
Nonagenarian.
Christy Lee
Nonagenarian. I couldn't say yesterday either.
Bob Kevoian
Is it octogenarian? Is 80 or octogenarian?
Tom Griswold
Say it one more time.
Christy Lee
Nanogenarian.
Josh Arnold
I say nanogenarian, but it's N o. I don't know that that's nano.
Tom Griswold
Generian.
Josh Arnold
Nano.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Described the experience as absolutely exhilarating, saying, I'd never imagined I'd be doing anything like this at 91 by. I enjoyed it so much, I'm now planning for more fun adventures.
Bob Kevoian
By the way, his scrotum hit first that his. His nugget. His nuts broke.
Josh Arnold
His fall deployed, but not mine.
Bob Kevoian
So how did they raise money at these things? I just wanted to have people betting whether or not he's gonna die.
Christy Lee
Oh, my goodness.
Josh Arnold
A good way to raise some funds.
Tom Griswold
He says his next challenge he would like to complete is a hundred mile per hour zipline in Wales.
Jeff Oskay
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I've never heard of one going that
Josh Arnold
fast either, have I. That's amazing.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's.
Bob Kevoian
That's 100 miles an hour almost going back in time.
Jess Hooker
That's.
Josh Arnold
I don't want to be on a zip line where you look up and the cable is smoking.
Christy Lee
Yeah, right.
Bob Kevoian
Well, if you're in France, it would be, well, natural. I don't know about whales. That's. Is that. That, that 100 miles an hour? I've got to find out more about that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
That's great. You would do this, Know that this guy wants to do it? Oh, I don't know that I would.
Bob Kevoian
I think I would do it if it were like 60. Yeah. 100 seems to me to be pushing it.
Josh Arnold
It doesn't even seem like you can enjoy it.
Bob Kevoian
How long would it have to be before you'd hit 100 miles an hour?
Josh Arnold
I. No idea. Does it just go straight down
Christy Lee
the 100 mile zip line in Wales? Velocity 2 at the zip zip world. Penryn Quarry in Bethesda, North Wales. Fastest in the world with the longest in Europe. You soar head first, 500ft above a vibrant blue quarry lake. One and a half kilometers.
Tom Griswold
What do you mean, head first?
Josh Arnold
A lot of them do that, especially the fast.
Tom Griswold
Oh, are you, like, lame?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
So, like, you're like a bird. You're kind of like soaring. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Whoa.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I did that one. We called it the swing of death, where they put you in that. It's like you're being airlifted out of a earthquake zone or something.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
And then they. They crank the crane up and drop you. I did that and Was terrifying.
Christy Lee
There you go.
Tom Griswold
Jeff, you did that over a parking lot, right?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I. At. Oh, no, at a fair. I wasn't supposed to do it that day, but somebody. I forget who it was. Didn't come in. So they.
Christy Lee
I get. I could get.
Bob Kevoian
I didn't want to let him down. Yeah. Probably got that wrong.
Chick McGee
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Well, so this guy, 91 skydives for the first time.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Made 6700. Is it by the mile or by the foot you fall like, is. You know, maybe.
Christy Lee
Maybe that.
Josh Arnold
A dollar a foot or just say if you want to throw five bucks
Christy Lee
in, we're raising money to see.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, maybe, but I like that. It would be either he lives or doesn't and by the foot. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Or it could be like, hey, if I, it's $10 if I, I crap my pants, it's 100 if I don't.
Josh Arnold
Or how it's $5 per foot that he doesn't deploy the chute
Tom Griswold
that makes.
Josh Arnold
So he just waits and waits and waits.
Bob Kevoian
Wow, there's a picture of this guy. He's got nice head of hair. Kind of jealous of him, huh? Got the wind flowing. Look at that wind flowing through his hair.
Josh Arnold
That looks incredible. Yeah, it looks amazing.
Tom Griswold
Oh, look, he's having the time of his.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
Good going, sir.
Christy Lee
I think it'd be fine except for that initial jump. I don't know about that part.
Josh Arnold
Plus, what does he have to lose? I mean, he's 90 something, right? Well, I guess I won't. Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
His kids are down there watching, going, look, either way we're gonna come out ahead. He doesn't make it.
Josh Arnold
Hey, his insurance covers this, right? Anybody check the policy?
Bob Kevoian
Now what's up next? We started with the 91 year old.
Tom Griswold
Well, we have a 93 year old and a 95 year old, both setting new records.
Christy Lee
Oh, really?
Bob Kevoian
Coming up, we'll get to that. We have a unusual news story this morning coming up about a pay phone which there are only a handful of payphones left.
Christy Lee
I couldn't show you one at least
Bob Kevoian
in a western civilization.
Josh Arnold
I don't.
Bob Kevoian
Are there even any at the airport anymore? I don't think so, but. Well, there's a, a special payphone that has been set up and we'll tell you why when we come back. Also coming up, we have a Squishy Toys in the news. You know those really popular. Yeah, there's a danger factor there we've. That I would never have thought of. It is National Kitten day. We got a banana car update. And yet another problem with the so called vault toilets. And an expert on why you shouldn't reach in for something. I don't really think that I would have needed to be told that.
Josh Arnold
I'm no expert, but I too recommend
Bob Kevoian
going out on a limb here right now. Higher prices. You know what I'm talking about. Gas on the way up again, groceries. Have you paid an insurance bill lately? Everything is getting more and more expensive, so you could probably use some extra cash. This is where American financing comes in. I was coming in this morning and I heard a radio commercial for something out there. A lot of the stuff out there. Seems to me people are trying to scam you. This is something that's really interesting. The idea here is to take advantage of the value of your home. So this is a real and it's a company called American Financing. What do they do? They refinance your house. It's a mortgage thing. And the idea is you're saying to yourself, well, hey, mortgage rates are kind of high right now, but if you're paying the interest off on a credit card that's 20, 25%, you're really losing a lot of money fast. So your house, if you've had it for more than say five years, is probably worth a lot more than it was when you bought it. And that's why it's easy to refinance it and take advantage of the equity in your house. The average client right now at American financing is saving 800 bucks a month. So see how this works. It might work for you. It depends on your situation. Obviously. Talk to the folks. No pressure, by the way, no upfront fees. These are salaried mortgage consultants that can work with you and see if it might work for you. Give them a call. 866-889-2611 that's 866-889-2611 or it's a lot easier to remember this. American Financing, no upfront fees, no pressure. This just might work for you, depending on your situation, as I said. So give them a ring or find them online. Please tell them the Bob and Tom show sent you by doing a Bob and Tom. When you go to american financing.net one more time, that's american financing.net nmls182334 nmlsconsumeraccess.org average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.
Josh Arnold
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom show live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. I'm gonna prove that we're know they would have cut that out if it wasn't live because. Nonsense. Right. Okay, there's Christy Lee. I don't think he, he, he didn't care for that. There's Christy Lee at the news desk. Jeff okay's there? Yes, he is at the NITSA sports desk and we had a story. I'll get to you A.C. tom, in a second. About.
Bob Kevoian
Once again we're in the back of the bus.
Josh Arnold
A 90, I don't like it. A 91 year old man who did some skydiving and now he Wants to do a hundred mile per hour zip line in Wales. I say what the rush. And so does nhtsa. When you speed, you have less time to react. Follow the speed limit to keep other road users safe. Speeding catches up with you. Paid for by nhtsa. Thank you, nhtsa. And there's Ace Cosby. Nice segue. Thank you. There's Tom. Well, I mean 100 miles per hour on a zipline is rushing. Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think I could do it.
Christy Lee
I know.
Bob Kevoian
I mean you could tie me up and put me on it and I would be able to do it. I don't think I.
Josh Arnold
Right, right.
Bob Kevoian
Care to do it?
Josh Arnold
You wouldn't do it willingly.
Bob Kevoian
That is scary. Well, we're talking about the elderly in sports today for some reason.
Tom Griswold
Oh yeah.
Josh Arnold
I say why not celebrate them.
Tom Griswold
We also have a 93 year old Iowa man vying to become the world's oldest truck driver.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
According is he retired or semi retired. See what I did there?
Tom Griswold
I did according to WKC Mr. Oren. Oh, now I see why we're doing this story. Mr. Oren Asmus has been driving semi trucks for over 70 years.
Bob Kevoian
Mary Asthmas?
Josh Arnold
Asthmas. No thank you. I gave it the office.
Tom Griswold
After discovering that the current record is 92 years old, his fellow truckers are now trying to get Mr. Asmus recognized by the Guinness World Records. The president and co owner of McLaughlin Freight told the station that they have already submitted documentation and are awaiting further instructions from Guinness. Mr. Asmus said he's driven over 5 million miles over his 70 years in the cab of a semi. His first hauling was livestock back in 1950.
Christy Lee
Yikes.
Josh Arnold
Wow. Well, so. So there is no mandatory retirement age that we know of. So he can do this.
Tom Griswold
Apparently he still does.
Christy Lee
He's still driving right now.
Josh Arnold
I mean do you trust the 93 year old with 5 million miles under his belt or the 22 year old who just got his trucker license? You know, I mean what's.
Bob Kevoian
I'm assless all day and it's vaping. Hey man, this is really cool, man. This guy's. Yeah, they showed us. He's got his truck nuts actually hit the. Hit the pavement, all the sparking. That's how old this guy. Well, you go for it, sir. Gone through life being named Asmus. You deserve a break.
Christy Lee
That's why he works in a truck by himself.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I don't need any co workers.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, we're just supposed to CB handle is with a name like Asthma.
Josh Arnold
You know the tough part though, a lot of Truck drivers, they load their own freight. I mean, they don't always drive the forklifts on, but if. Let's say they have to tie the tarps over. Oh, yeah. They have to do all that belting and stuff. I mean, he's gonna have to get guys to help with that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
But still kicking butt.
Christy Lee
That's impressive.
Josh Arnold
That is impressive.
Bob Kevoian
Is the CB radio still a thing with truck truckers, or.
Josh Arnold
I think so. In trucks. Yeah. I don't know. I'm sure they've changed in some way, but they still have their own channels.
Christy Lee
Yeah. They want to talk to each other.
Bob Kevoian
I'm just asking.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I think so.
Bob Kevoian
I always thought it was cool. When did that craze hit?
Christy Lee
Well, I know my neighbor in the 70s had one. He had a base station.
Bob Kevoian
Remember the president? The president. President Ford's wife, I believe, was first Mama Betty. I think that was first her. Her handle, if you will.
Tom Griswold
And the summer before my freshman year, my mom drove me and my brothers out to California to see her sister. We took, like, four weeks, and my grandfather put a CB in the station wagon. And we love talk. We'd be like, oh, can I get a smoky report? And they'd be like, oh, yeah. Mile marker 110. Yeah, watch out for them. They're sitting there. Oh, that was the most fun.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Christy Lee
Ways just tells you, hey, but they
Tom Griswold
don't tell you enough. Ahead.
Christy Lee
They don't tell you they should tell
Tom Griswold
you, like, one minute. But they're like, oh, police officer. And you're like, yeah, I see him. He's pulling me over. Like, you need to give me a little more knowledge. Ways.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, thank you very much. All right, this is our. Our final.
Christy Lee
Our nanogenarian.
Tom Griswold
Nanogenarian from New Zealand has been verified as the world's oldest water skier, according to the Guinness World Records. Great granddad Brian Murray achieved the record title at the age of 94 years and 318 days old.
Josh Arnold
I love skiing.
Tom Griswold
Mr. Murray told the record authority, I like the saying, you don't stop because you are too old. You are too old because you stop being.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know if we have the picture that showed him behind the boat, and it was interesting because his left testicle was leaving a second wake.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, you know, I could. We got to congratulate Tom. He got the trifecta. Three old men, three ball jokes.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
The parachute guy hit nuts first.
Josh Arnold
Right, right.
Christy Lee
And we had truck nuts on the next.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, Truck nuts were hitting the pavement. This guy's water's getting. You ever Water ski, Jeffrey?
Tom Griswold
No, I'm more of a tuber.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Which.
Bob Kevoian
Water skiing is a blast.
Tom Griswold
You would think, like, you could be even older. Instead of tubing record,
Bob Kevoian
You could take the deceit and put them on a tube and drag him to the water cemetery.
Josh Arnold
Is over tubing? Yes, but now I'm getting too old for tubing. To where. Now I need to buy one of those couch inflatable sofa things.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, just don't do that. Okay.
Christy Lee
Because of your. I love the couch water ski anymore. Yeah, okay.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, absolutely. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, good, good.
Tom Griswold
Can you one ski? Water ski?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Slalom, of course.
Jeff Oskay
Of course.
Tom Griswold
Whoa.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
By accident, like one flew off, or do you start. Because I have seen the actual.
Tom Griswold
That's a fair.
Bob Kevoian
That's a fair question. There is nothing funnier than someone who did that inadvertently.
Jeff Oskay
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
And then they're on one. And then you kind of do the countdown. Okay. If we get to nine seconds, I'll give you a hundred bucks.
Josh Arnold
We couldn't believe how far he got on the one.
Bob Kevoian
But then when you. The one thing about water skiing is if you fall the right way. We used to call it the hundred yard douche, where you. Then you'd get out, you'd get back in the boat and be trying to pick your bathing suit out of your crack.
Josh Arnold
The only reason my dad fell when he was doing the accidental slalom is because he tried to let go of the handle the rope and hook it around his foot. Oh, that's a great trick. If he could do that and he
Bob Kevoian
fell and I lie. You know me, I love those water ski shows where they go off the. They go off the ramps and they got the stack of people and those are so cool.
Tom Griswold
So what happened to the other ski? Does it just go rogue and you found it?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, that's you. You kick the ski off and then you go back. You want to be doing. You'd want to be doing it in an area where there are no other boats.
Tom Griswold
So could you like rooster tail and all that? Like, were you.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I mean, you go out and you're on one arm and you're. My brothers were better than. They were a lot better than I was.
Christy Lee
A lot of people go up on one ski, too. They don't have to kick off.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, that's. You know, after a while you can do that. But I remember not too long ago, I was doing.
Tom Griswold
You're already in the boat. Just stay in the boat. Like snow skiing. I get it. Hey, you're up here. You got to get down there. There's only one way. Like water skiing. You're already in the boat. Just stay in the boat to over there.
Bob Kevoian
So I was watering one time and I ran over a dead deer floating.
Christy Lee
Oh God, that's a bummer.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I mean, you think a large branch is a bummer in the water?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, a dead deer.
Christy Lee
That's why I don't get into a lake anymore.
Bob Kevoian
Well, at least it wasn't a living alligator.
Christy Lee
True.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Oh yeah. That is better.
Bob Kevoian
That's one of the beauties of the Great Lakes. As far as I know.
Chick McGee
No gators.
Bob Kevoian
But we did find.
Tom Griswold
We.
Bob Kevoian
I think we did. The story on the air about was like a 12 foot. Remember this thing? It was in Lake Huron that they.
Christy Lee
Yeah, but it was somebody's pet that they let go.
Bob Kevoian
No, no, no, it wasn't a gator, it was a fish.
Christy Lee
I thought you meant a gator.
Bob Kevoian
They got some real big fish in the Great Lakes.
Tom Griswold
Oh yeah.
Christy Lee
Oh yeah.
Bob Kevoian
But they don't. They don't.
Christy Lee
They don't.
Bob Kevoian
They don't bite.
Josh Arnold
No, they're just pretty. They're just wild to see.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. And they do look prehistoric. The great thing about water skiing when you're old is you can pee your pants and nobody's going to know.
Josh Arnold
That is good. Yeah. Now the picture we saw of this old man, I thought he was parasailing the way his skin was.
Christy Lee
Oh, he.
Josh Arnold
Look at him, he's a stud.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, there he goes.
Christy Lee
He's.
Bob Kevoian
He's doing slalom.
Christy Lee
Holy soole.
Tom Griswold
How old is he? 95 and in way better shape than me.
Christy Lee
I do that guy.
Bob Kevoian
Look at that guy.
Jess Hooker
Look at him.
Bob Kevoian
Where's he from? Christy, odds are you probably already.
Josh Arnold
You know what the irony is is he would. He would love to do you. You guys would get me in bed for two minutes and you'd have a heart attack and die. He could do that. He couldn't take you.
Christy Lee
He's pretty studly.
Bob Kevoian
I was. I was just in the Bahamas a couple weeks ago. A couple days ago. Really sorry. I hit the mic. Excuse me. And I saw something I've never seen before and I. I'm. I guess these are everywhere and I just haven't been around much. It's a surfboard that's got a motor on. Run it.
Josh Arnold
Oh yeah.
Tom Griswold
Awesome. Yeah, we have those up at the lake. We don't other people because I.
Josh Arnold
My nieces and nephews are begging for one and because I looked up get them that or a Corolla.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, no, we were get two of my Corollas. For the price of one of them.
Bob Kevoian
We were. We were swimming with turtles, which was super cool. And I was. And I was on the boat. I got back in the boat and I'm looking over there and I go, there's a guy over there surfing, but there are no waves.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
He was standing up and just zipping by.
Josh Arnold
Those are cool. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The board. It looked like the board was only like 4ft long. It was.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tom Griswold
It's about a foot out of the water.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, it was.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Was it on a hydrofoil? Yeah, that's exactly how much are those things?
Josh Arnold
You can. You can spend three to nine. I mean, you can.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Thousand.
Josh Arnold
I would say a good. A good one with a nice battery. That's going to hold a charge for a while. Six grand. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What are they called?
Josh Arnold
I looked it up as motorized surfboard.
Bob Kevoian
I had never seen one.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. So. But I forget exactly what. There is a name for it. I forget what it is.
Bob Kevoian
I also saw the guys doing the. The thing where they're holding onto a parachute and they're.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's cool.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. That takes some strength.
Josh Arnold
Yes. That's a sustained.
Tom Griswold
The wind surfing.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Not windsurfing on a board.
Josh Arnold
They're actually holding onto it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they've. It's like a parachute. It's not. It's not like a little sailboat. Windsurfing is a. Oh, yeah.
Christy Lee
Sail fixed to a sailing. Yeah, Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I mean these guys were holding on to a sale.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. They come up out of the water and then land back. Oh, yeah. That's so cool.
Christy Lee
Those motorized surfboards are called jet boards.
Bob Kevoian
Wow. Why? Where were those when I was a kid?
Josh Arnold
Yeah. They hadn't gotten that far.
Christy Lee
No.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. You just have a little remote control in your hand that holds. That controls the speed.
Bob Kevoian
So when you fall off, it doesn't take off.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, no, it.
Josh Arnold
And sometimes does. I've seen some guys who get on them and they have to start. They have to kind of jump up and down and then. Yeah. I don't know what that. I don't know if that's caliber. Almost like your dryer or your washer calibrates the weight of the laundry. Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
At first they're cool.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Well, so congratulations to the nine. The 90 year old, 95 year old old.
Tom Griswold
93 and 91 year old. Yeah. Yeah.
Christy Lee
Keep moving. We should.
Josh Arnold
But they should make a movie of those three. Adventuring dude.
Tom Griswold
And every picture we saw they looked happier than I've been in five years. So nice.
Christy Lee
Maybe you need to do more activities.
Tom Griswold
Maybe you're out there. Mind your own business.
Bob Kevoian
You're out there fishing, thinking about all the things going wrong in your life. Life. They're there. They're there. Going 100 miles an hour down a zip line in Wales.
Christy Lee
You don't have time to think about the bad things going on in your life.
Bob Kevoian
Thinking about the black abyss ahead.
Josh Arnold
And don't sell yourself short. Fishing activates two or three muscles, I'm sure.
Christy Lee
Shoulder, My wrist, maybe Forearm.
Tom Griswold
That's about it.
Bob Kevoian
Coming up. Speaking of working out, did I give you the story about the chalk? This is a bizarre, weird story. Coming up, if you work out, you're at the gym, you may start smelling chocolate. Now this. I know what you're thinking. We'll get to that. Also, pay phones in the news in a very, very odd way. And an expert on sanitation has come out to tell everybody that you're not supposed to go after your sunglasses if you drop them at a vault full of poop. If you're on the road this summer, I. This is. I guess they couldn't get a hold of Mr. Obvious, so they got this guy.
Josh Arnold
Vault Full of poop is the worst heist movie I've ever seen.
Bob Kevoian
Also coming up, we have. This happens every year. You give some folks some explosives July 4th, and they're near some porta potties. It's gonna happen again. And we've got the Navy veteran, great guy, helping his neighbors. He's putting out a house fire in the middle of the night. Didn't have time to get dressed. We've got the video. But, hey, the guy's a great American now he's a great naked American. And why not? If it weren't for. If we didn't allow nakedness in this country, there wouldn't be anybody left.
Christy Lee
That's true.
Bob Kevoian
Put your clothes on. We're gonna make a baby. How the hell are we gonna do that? Also coming up, Brian Johnson in the news.
Josh Arnold
Oh, Of ACDC fame.
Bob Kevoian
Nope.
Christy Lee
No.
Tom Griswold
Huh?
Bob Kevoian
The Brian Johnson that I have a really strong dislike of this guy, and it's not really right.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I don't know. This other Brian Johnson. Will I dislike him, too?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I think so. I think so.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And I understand that almost all of my opinions are wrong. And this one. This is the guy, remember? The guy? He. He's measuring everything about himself and taking all these supplements and he wants to live forever, that guy. I do some kind of millionaire. And this is.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Obsessed with it. Just sounds like such a jackass, man.
Christy Lee
The biohackers right?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, yeah. Talk about not having time to stop and smell the roses. I couldn't smell them because I was taking my supplements and doing push ups.
Tom Griswold
Oh, did you see the biohacker who last week died because he had been injecting gold into himself?
Josh Arnold
Should I stop doing that? Is that bad? Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
You don't have the Midas touch much like you.
Bob Kevoian
How many morons have died because they're reading stuff on the Internet and actually doing it?
Josh Arnold
Was he injecting the gold right into his William Devanes? Thank you very much.
Bob Kevoian
Very nice. William William Devane, finance.
Josh Arnold
He is a good actor.
Bob Kevoian
Did you see when he played jfk?
Josh Arnold
I haven't. He's in a movie called Rolling Thunder. I like.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, now we're gonna come right back track here to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jeff Oskay
Just gotta get a hold of us. Call, text or email. Get all the contact information you need@bobandtom.com this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Hey, welcome to the Bob and Tom Show. We appreciate you being here with us. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee's the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hello.
Josh Arnold
Jess Hooker has joined us.
Jess Hooker
Hi.
Josh Arnold
There's Jeff.
Tom Griswold
Hey, man.
Josh Arnold
He's at the NHTSA sports desk. There's Ace Cosby. Howdy. I'm Josh Arnold. And there's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
On a serious note, watch out. There's a thing going around, they're saying 17 states at least already. It's a parasite called. I'm going to pronounce it probably improperly, Cyclospora, I think it is. And the headline is parasite that causes Explosive diarrhea spreading across the U.S. yes, but it's serious business and I just alert you to be careful what you're eating. The CDC hasn't yet said exactly what's causing this, but they're advising you to make sure you wash your vegetables and fruit and I'm quoting here, really, really well. So keep that in mind. You don't want to get this. Apparently this illness can last for days and days and days with terrible cramping, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So a little serious.
Christy Lee
Get it? Go see a doctor. Because there is. You don't want to take a chance with that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Christy Lee
They're saying you can get treatment for it.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. Anyway, super contagious. It not between people.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
They make that very clear. Is they think it's. They're not saying what it. They're not saying like they want to make sure.
Josh Arnold
For sure. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Not saying don't eat lettuce or don't eat whatever, but they're just saying, wash your vegetables very carefully.
Josh Arnold
They want to make sure the source is China before they come out.
Bob Kevoian
Of course. And of course, I read this. Jeff and I were talking about. I read this this morning and went, what did I have for lunch yesterday? Oh, that was a delightful salad. What'd you have for dinner last night? It was a delightful salad.
Christy Lee
We're gonna have French fries all week. That's what we're having.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
French fries. Because isn't today National French fry day?
Christy Lee
It sure is.
Bob Kevoian
And also today's national kitten Day, Right?
Christy Lee
Yep. I had French fries for lunch yesterday.
Josh Arnold
Nice.
Christy Lee
Delightful. And a French dip.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's a good choice.
Bob Kevoian
My daughter, fortunately, had French fries with her hamburger last night.
Tom Griswold
Good.
Christy Lee
Why? Because you got to eat some.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe I had half of them.
Josh Arnold
There's a dad tax.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Josh Arnold
Of course.
Bob Kevoian
Gotta make sure these are okay. They were very good.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Just right. Oh, God.
Christy Lee
And those calories don't count because they weren't yours. They were hers.
Bob Kevoian
Of course.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's been scientifically proven.
Josh Arnold
My doctor called me to tell me those potato calories. Come on, vegetable.
Bob Kevoian
There's something about. As a parent, we've all learned that. Josh, you'll find this out when you become a dad. I know you'll be a great dad, but there's a certain point in your life where your kids are a certain age where you don't have to order anything for dinner.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yes.
Christy Lee
Yeah. They don't eat at all.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. I've dated some moms, and they.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
It's always.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Don't worry when I say I'll have what she's having, what I'm saying is I'll have hers because she's not going to eat it.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. I'm going to have half a thing of applesauce, two and a half chicken strips.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yeah. And then there's the thing where you're. This happened to me not too long ago.
Jess Hooker
You.
Bob Kevoian
You. You just happened to have a kind of a nice dinner lined up and. Oh, we're gonna go. We're taking the kids and taking some of their friends and. Well, that's a $25 cheeseburger that she didn't
Josh Arnold
take a.
Bob Kevoian
Didn't take a bite out of. I'll just let that go to the garbage can now. Have we completed our sports broadcast?
Tom Griswold
We have. Have.
Josh Arnold
That's got to be a frustrating thing with parents, because some kids just don't want to eat.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And as a parent, you don't understand. You have to eat.
Christy Lee
You can't take them to a restaurant and not feed them.
Josh Arnold
You have to eat. Or even at home.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
They're barely eating. Yesterday, I heard one pediatrician say, whatever your kid is eating, just let. Let them eat it. Because sometimes it's impossible.
Bob Kevoian
I may have to go to a psychiatrist for one of my daughters. We were. The day I took her to the Cheesecake Factory.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Which, by the way, I'd like to say God bless everyone that works there. That menu is longer than the Torah. There are rabbis in the back going,
Josh Arnold
and there are more pork items.
Tom Griswold
They must have 90 chefs back there.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
How do you know all these items?
Bob Kevoian
I had the best salad I've had all year, by the way. The way I, I. But I was. I was saying. I Saying to my daughter, because she wasn't really eating my. Get a piece of the cheesecake. Well, I don't think I like cheesecake. No, no. It's the greatest thing on earth because I didn't want to order peas, because I did.
Josh Arnold
Would have eaten.
Christy Lee
Yeah. See, you wanted her to have the calories.
Bob Kevoian
Get the cheesecake, because daddy will at least have a bite.
Christy Lee
Did she like it?
Bob Kevoian
The cheesecake? She didn't get the cheesecake.
Jeff Oskay
No.
Bob Kevoian
She got the pot stickers or something.
Josh Arnold
Those are also good.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they're very good. By the way, I did say all the. They were also excellent.
Josh Arnold
Crab rangoon, however, almost a dessert.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
It's like a fried cheesecake popper.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
When you bake it, you add sugar to the cream cheese, so.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What is the unhealthiest thing that people perceive as being healthy?
Tom Griswold
Oh.
Jess Hooker
Oh, that's a good question.
Bob Kevoian
When you go to a restaurant. Oh, I'll get this.
Christy Lee
This is sometimes it's salad.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. This is the healthy salad, honestly.
Jess Hooker
Full of ranch and croutons. Right. Yeah, I know that. I know that avocados are good for you, but they're so. The calories are so that people just, like, eat guacamole. Just shovel it in and it's like, oh, that was 1200 calories.
Bob Kevoian
That's my favorite new breakfast, though.
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Avocado toast with poached eggs.
Jess Hooker
I just have the one that you get every Sunday for the first time.
Christy Lee
I make it at home with guacamole.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that's good.
Christy Lee
I take. Actually, we make rice bowls with brown rice and then guacamole and then eggs on top.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that sounds great.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Really good.
Bob Kevoian
Now I'm starving.
Josh Arnold
Thanks. I had smoked salmon in my avocado toast.
Christy Lee
Nice.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Boy, oh, boy.
Bob Kevoian
Well, okay, so now we've gone over all the healthy things. Once again, I. Sorry I brought up the.
Josh Arnold
We could just leave and go eat explosive diarrhea.
Bob Kevoian
Be careful. Make sure you wash your veggies.
Tom Griswold
How early can you get fries? Serve someone making fries.
Christy Lee
Well, speaking of healthy, sniffing chocolate could make your leg day workout easier.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Christy Lee
Yep. Scientists say if you want to survive leg day at the gym, try smelling chocolate. A study found young men who were exposed to the smell of chocolate right before and between sets of resistance exercise significantly increased their overall training volume without increasing their perceived exertion.
Bob Kevoian
So you're not snorting chocolate, you're just smelling it.
Christy Lee
The scent of it.
Bob Kevoian
What a weird, hot.
Josh Arnold
I. I know some guys that eat peanut butter cups before they lift weights or sometimes after. But now these guys are super fit.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Josh Arnold
I shouldn't be doing that, but like, these guys, and it does something.
Bob Kevoian
This is like. This is like smelling isn't like this by passing beer to sniff at an AA meeting. I mean, if you're. The gym. I don't know. Just seems odd to me.
Tom Griswold
My son used to always drink chocolate milk before the gym.
Josh Arnold
People swear by that, too.
Christy Lee
And recovery. Chocolate milk or recovery.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, but just smelling it is interesting, huh?
Bob Kevoian
I know you're not rocking it up and doing a couple of lines of Hershey's. Hey, Bosco. Hey, Bosco. You holding?
Josh Arnold
Oh, boy, this is good. Quick. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Now, I have a question for you, Ms. Hooker.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
I know you're a very adventurous woman. Yeah, no, no, I mean this.
Josh Arnold
You.
Bob Kevoian
You're a motorcycle enthusiast.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You're. You're. You do bold things. You are a former tobacco user.
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. I miss that a lot, which you talked about.
Bob Kevoian
And I've tried many things in my life, but this, there's one thing I have never tried, ever. And that is the. The snuff.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You know, the. I don't even know how you do it.
Jess Hooker
Tobacco.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Where you. Yeah. Not the chewing tobacco.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Tight. The stuff they call snuff. I don't even know if that's still a thing.
Josh Arnold
I've never done it either because I've never been in a duel. You always see those.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, is that movies? Is that still a thing?
Jess Hooker
So is it. Is he talking about like a.
Tom Griswold
No, it's like a snip.
Josh Arnold
Like, you take a pinch of it.
Christy Lee
It's like a pinch and you just kind of snot.
Josh Arnold
You do snort it.
Christy Lee
You inhale it in your nose.
Jess Hooker
I've never done that.
Josh Arnold
Now, it may have been around when I was a teenager because I remember them teaching us about the. The dangers of snuff. Yeah. In the 90s. So I. I'm sure it's incredibly bad.
Christy Lee
Snuff primarily refers to finely ground smokeless tobacco. Product comes in two main varieties. Dry snuff, a fine powder inhaled or sniffed through the nasal cavity, or moist snuff, also known as dip, which is what people do in their.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Josh Arnold
It's essentially dip, you snort.
Jess Hooker
I didn't know that. I've seen, like. It comes in the same packaging, I think.
Josh Arnold
Think I've seen it in little bags and I've seen it in little tins.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, the tins. Yeah. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Presumably the. What?
Jeff Oskay
What?
Bob Kevoian
The membranes in your nasal passages. Whatever would take in the. It's gotta be nicotine. It's got to be really bad.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Probably some peculiar type of. Should we try nasal passage cancer? I'm thinking let's try it one morning.
Christy Lee
We should see, there is a big.
Bob Kevoian
I did try. I did try. When I was a teenager. We found a. A packet of chewing tobacco.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And then it's so funny because I just saw a segment of a movie. Was it called the Sandlot?
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
And it reminded me of that because we all barfed immediately.
Josh Arnold
Now, that's one thing I've never. I haven't. I haven't tried that. I never tried chewing tobacco.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I used to do that.
Bob Kevoian
And it's incredibly addictive, I think, because
Josh Arnold
I knew a lot of people that did it, and I just.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
It didn't look appealing to me.
Bob Kevoian
Well, baseball. You were running all those baseball players when you worked for Rawlings, and a lot of those guys, they used to take bubble gum and chewing tobacco at the same time.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. They were really transitioning to sunflower seeds when I was. You saw a ton of guys switching. Yeah, but which. Which is also gross.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
By the way, a friend of mine, literally, this. This happened in Colorado two weekends ago, was nearly arrested for spitting sunflower seeds at a baseball game.
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh. It was that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. The cops came. The whole deal,
Christy Lee
really, As a patron,
Bob Kevoian
as a fan, as a parent of one of the. One of the ball players. My older brother gets a little summer league teen ball. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
He'll get a little upset if he doesn't have his sunflower seeds on the bass boat.
Bob Kevoian
And he was doing the sunflower seeds and the. Someone called the cop. Literally, the cops. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
That's considered littering.
Bob Kevoian
I Don't know what. But he had to pay a $250 fine.
Josh Arnold
Oh, my gosh.
Christy Lee
Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Jess Hooker
That's crazy.
Christy Lee
Well, have you seen the new trend about pure nicotine as the benefit benefits of it? Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Are we leaving it or. Well, because I have always wondered what the worst part of like, smoking if it was.
Christy Lee
Well, it's pure nicotine. It's not.
Bob Kevoian
No, I think it's smoking tobacco. It's 800. The 800 chemicals in a cigarette.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
So nicotine itself might be.
Christy Lee
It does have some health benefits.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, but like, eggplant has nicotine in it. Like, there's vegetables that you can.
Josh Arnold
So it's one of these natural things that's been.
Bob Kevoian
But the only way to light an eggplant is you have to dip it in gasoline. Now, that may be bad for you. Yeah. But the thing, all this stuff that gets out, the Internet, though, God knows.
Christy Lee
I know.
Bob Kevoian
As long as the nicotine. They say as long as the nicotine is delivered rectally, you're gonna be.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Because they are blowing smoke in your ass. That's our health segment. You're welcome.
Josh Arnold
Would you try to do smoke rings?
Bob Kevoian
I would. I would pay to see that.
Josh Arnold
I would do.
Bob Kevoian
I would pay to see. I'd pay big money to see that.
Josh Arnold
Why don't circuses do that? I mean, the freak show's gone fine, but how about. Why can't we have a guy who could blow smoke rings?
Christy Lee
You could add him to your juggler guy.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, the filthy juggler.
Christy Lee
Filthy juggler. And the fart guy. There you go. You've got a show.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I'm sorry. Welcome to the Maturity Hour. We'll be returning.
Christy Lee
Well, we're going to continue with our health segment because we have a biohacker in the news coming up.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I'm. I. I'm sorry that I dislike this guy so much. I don't know what to.
Josh Arnold
Well, I. He does not seem to be living like you said, Tommy so preoccupied with living longer. He's not living now.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, and I got to work on that myself. We have squishy toys in the news. Fourth of July, Porta Potty explosions and more. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios and this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jeff Oskay
Thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Even though we're not too much to look at. You can. Can also watch the show on our YouTube channel.
Josh Arnold
Hey there, it's the Bob and Tom show live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee's at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hello.
Josh Arnold
Jess Hooker's there.
Jeff Oskay
Hi.
Josh Arnold
Next to her, it's Jeff Oskay at the NHTSA sports desk.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Josh Arnold
Ace Cosby's there. Hello, I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom Griswold.
Bob Kevoian
Just finished our health segment.
Christy Lee
No.
Josh Arnold
Oh, we got more.
Christy Lee
Brian Johnson, the anti aging ability obsessed millionaire biohacker.
Jess Hooker
No.
Bob Kevoian
And to be clear, not the guy from acdc.
Christy Lee
Well, no. Has revealed that he has a chronic autoimmune disease. The tech entrepreneur who spends about $2 million a year on controversial rejuvenation tactics shared that he has autoimmune gastritis. The chronic condition means antibodies attack stomach cells and it increases the risk of stomach cancer. The 48 year old said, the good news is I'm going to try and solve the it and we'll share all.
Bob Kevoian
So this, this is the guy that does all kinds of supplements and he's,
Christy Lee
yes, very transparent about his health journey. Tom sharing blood work scans and more in the Netflix documentary Don't Die. The man who Wants to live forever.
Bob Kevoian
Mr. Johnson, you realize this guy is going to be leaving a meeting and get hit by a bus. Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I want to see him get hit by a car. See how auto immune he really is.
Christy Lee
In the documentary, he offers a look at Project Blueprint. His rigorous daily routine of exercise supplements and experimental treatments like plasma transfusions and fat transfers, all in a part to live forever through science. Good luck.
Bob Kevoian
It'd be pretty funny if the Brian Johnson from ACDC outlived the guy.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Remember talking to him? His story was really interesting. He had, he had been asked to write his autobiography and he said, no, I don't, don't remember anything really. And then. But he's a car guy.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And so the editor said to him, well, what if you just write about every car you've ever owned and that'll lead to stories? Which it did and it does. It's kind of a cool thing.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that's cool.
Bob Kevoian
And that'd be the way for Christy to do it. You could either write about each husband or hey, be nice.
Christy Lee
I've had way more cars than husbands. Not even close.
Bob Kevoian
That's a chapter title. I've had way more cars than husbands. That sounds like the beginning of a. That sounds like the beginning of one of those summertime books that everybody's out there reading.
Christy Lee
We have a guy fixing. We were getting a new garage door and he was over yesterday to measure. I go, how tall Is that ceiling? Can I put a lift in here? And he's a car guy, too. And he looked at me and he goes, nah. And I go, gosh darn.
Bob Kevoian
It was the garage. A freestanding garage.
Christy Lee
No, it's the one that's attached to the house.
Bob Kevoian
But is there anything above it? Yeah, you can't pop the roof on you. It's the bedroom.
Christy Lee
Do it.
Bob Kevoian
Do it. Jerry Seinfeld.
Christy Lee
I'm not gonna lose a bedroom for. Well, wait.
Bob Kevoian
Wait a minute. There's a bedroom for a place to put two other cars. Are you kidding? Sitting. What's wrong with you?
Christy Lee
To put two lifts in. Yeah, and we'd have. Oh, that. That's a great idea.
Bob Kevoian
You know what you could do? Wait a minute. Oh, this is. I. I. Why am I not an architect?
Tom Griswold
The girls can share a room.
Bob Kevoian
You could do this. You could do this. You take the. The bedroom, you turn it into half a bedroom, and then when. When you put the car in that, you lift up there.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Then you could have it so you could see the car. So you could put a really cool.
Christy Lee
Oh, like a Plexiglas.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, yes. Oh, I bet there's something in this town. I bet there's someone that has.
Christy Lee
Oh, I'm sure.
Bob Kevoian
I know. I know a guy that keeps a motorcycle in it, essentially in his foyer. But that's cool. Yeah. Well, I mean, it's a pretty cool bike.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, wouldn't that be great? You go into the guest room. Oh, by the way, there's a Corvette over there.
Christy Lee
If I win the lottery, that's what I'll do. But he goes, well, I just saved you a lot of money. I got. Yeah, but you broke my heart. Today, July 10, marks National Kitten Day. The holiday not only celebrates the beloved pet, but also raises awareness for kitten adoption. Some ways you can observe National Kitten Day include fostering a kitten, donating to local animal shelters, sponsoring an adoption fee, and educating yourself on trap, neuter, return to help manage the feral cat populations in your community. All right, I was just showing Josh that one of the big box stores has a. It's called the outdoor city cat condo, so that you can take your cat outside. And it's this big, huge. What would you call that, Josh?
Josh Arnold
Like an enclosed.
Jess Hooker
Does it attach to a window?
Josh Arnold
This one has a tube that ran somewhere.
Bob Kevoian
But some.
Josh Arnold
I've seen some that do that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So the cat's not actually outside mesh. They're not outside.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Yeah. They're actually in this mesh container thing, like a big. I don't know, it's almost like size of a room. Pretty good size.
Bob Kevoian
Josh, deer can't sit at the window and make that noise.
Josh Arnold
No, but they sit at the window and they look at the bird. Because I have a window bird feeder. They love that.
Christy Lee
And, yeah, I offered to get one for Josh, and he said. What did you say? Gravy would go right through it.
Josh Arnold
Oh, she'll figure out how to get it.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
So she can hunt.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. My. When I had two cats up in Michigan, they would often bring dead chipmunks to the door. Sometimes semi live mice.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Gifts for the family.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, My cat still does that. He's an indoor outdoor cat. And he'll.
Josh Arnold
He loves you.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, he brings me stuff all the time.
Christy Lee
And he keeps your rodent population down. He does a good thing.
Bob Kevoian
So. I'm sorry. So today's is strictly National Kitty Day Kitten Day.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
And then this does lead to a great story.
Christy Lee
Firefighter in Indiana rescued a kitten that got stuck in a car's undercarriage. Indianapolis Fire Department reports the story of a driver who stopped by their headquarters after hearing meowing coming from his car.
Bob Kevoian
So you want this engine, really?
Tom Griswold
1st
Christy Lee
EMS Battalion Chief Jason Garner jumped into action and spent about 30 minutes trying to coax the kitten out from underneath the vehicle. He managed to retrieve her safely. I don't know her. I just said that it might be a key and turn it over to Indianapolis Animal Care and Control. So there you go. You could adopt this kitty. Oh, yeah. On National Kitten Day.
Bob Kevoian
You're glad they. Glad they found it.
Christy Lee
Yeah, I'd love to have an outdoor cat.
Tom Griswold
We had a kitten in Maggie's car in her engine for, like, four days.
Christy Lee
What?
Tom Griswold
Like she drove to work and came home. She goes. I know this is gonna sound weird, but I swear my. My car was making a cat sound, and I go out and I look, I get under the car. There's nothing. She drives the next day to work, same thing. She calls me. I swear there is a meowing coming from. Go out. Look. Finally, on the third day, I hear it from inside the house, and I go out and I open the hood, and there's a kitten laying right in the middle of the entrance just looking at me.
Josh Arnold
I know people have cats because they found them in their cars. It's a place that I guess the mothers hide the kittens.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Christy Lee
I'll be darn.
Tom Griswold
It's so alive. A friend of ours took it and. Yeah, the thing's like five years old now.
Christy Lee
Oh, did they give it a cool.
Bob Kevoian
Did they give it a cool name. Related to the world.
Tom Griswold
They did.
Bob Kevoian
What was auto?
Tom Griswold
No, manifold. Me nuts. Carby's a good one, but yeah, he's still alive. Otto is on the highway. Whip back and forth three days in a row.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I'd be screaming too.
Bob Kevoian
Well, okay.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh. Happy National Kitty Day, ladies and gentlemen. What's coming up?
Christy Lee
French Friday. Don't forget that. Don't get the two confused. Coming up, we have a naked guy helping to put out a fire. We have vandals blowing up Porta Potty. And we have a very interesting, as Tom mentioned, early pay phone story, which.
Bob Kevoian
And we have a guy weighing in on a topic I didn't think I really needed to have anybody weigh in on. Which is why if you drop something into a so called toilet vault, you shouldn't go get it.
Jess Hooker
What's a toilet?
Christy Lee
A Porta Potty.
Bob Kevoian
Well, no, a toilet vault is a little bit different. This is like if you're on the highway.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And they don't have plumbing.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Sometimes they just have a little building over a huge vat of poop.
Christy Lee
Are you talking about like camping, campgrounds, stuff like that?
Josh Arnold
I think it's not all vault toilets are porta Potties, but all porta potties are vault toilets.
Christy Lee
Oh, there you go.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
But there's.
Christy Lee
They all have a hole and you could fall in them. That's how I look at it.
Bob Kevoian
Well, do you want a little preview?
Tom Griswold
No.
Christy Lee
No, we don't.
Jess Hooker
I did too, but we know what he likes.
Bob Kevoian
Associated Press woman drops cell phone and toilet fails and falls in trying to retrieve it. By the way, if you didn't think it could get worse.
Josh Arnold
Can you smell me now?
Bob Kevoian
It does. You're not gonna believe it. It's coming up. But right now, now, Chrissy Lee, you don't have a kitty in your car, do you?
Christy Lee
I don't think so. I'll go check if you'd like. But I do have a wonderful car. And it's a Tucson Hybrid from Hyundai. And right now you could get in one because they're having a getaway sales event. Deals that are so right they feel wrong. Not only is the Tucson and the Tucson Hybrid on sale, but also the adventure ready SUV like the Hyundai Santa Fe or Santa Fe Hybrid. Plus, don't overlook the bold and stylish alignment mantra that's loaded with the latest in technology. And if you're going all electric, check out the Ionic 5 or Ioniq 9. They look like they're from the future. Get to your local Hyundai dealer and get away with the deal. You'll love during the Hyundai Getaway sales event. Visit HyundaiUSA.com for all the details.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much. Also coming up in the new squishy toys, payphones, and a little bit of history. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom show.
Josh Arnold
Live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, it's the Bob and Tom Show. There's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hello.
Josh Arnold
Jess Hooker's there.
Bob Kevoian
Hi, Jeff.
Josh Arnold
Oscar at the NHTSA sports desk.
Tom Griswold
Hello.
Josh Arnold
Ace Cosby across the way. Hey, Josh. I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much. Okay, we're gonna do a quiz now. This is gonna be a quiz that you.
Jess Hooker
Christy, you. That you don't get to participate because you'll know all the answers.
Bob Kevoian
All I've been told is this is a quiz.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Delivered by a lady to the gents in the room.
Chick McGee
And.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. So it's a social media thing. Right. Now, I did it with my husband and I posted it on my Instagram Jess Hooker underscore if you're looking for it. And it's questions that only women would know the answers to.
Christy Lee
Really?
Jess Hooker
And you ask your husband, assuming. Okay. Okay.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I'll tell you now. I asked my husband 10 questions. He got two.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Didn't do great. Do you guys know what a beauty blender is?
Josh Arnold
I don't.
Tom Griswold
Is it that wedge of a sponge that you blend your makeup on your face together with?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Yeah.
Christy Lee
Very good, Jeff.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Good job.
Josh Arnold
Nicely done.
Bob Kevoian
Hang on, hang on a second. How on earth do you know that?
Tom Griswold
I have. I live with three women.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Christy Lee
A lot of them look like a. Like a sphere thing.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. They're different shades, but they were wedges when we were kids.
Christy Lee
Yeah. I still use a wedge.
Bob Kevoian
It's not an electric.
Jess Hooker
No, no, it is not an electric thing. That's exactly what my husband said.
Christy Lee
It's like a sponge.
Jess Hooker
You put all the colors.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, no. Yeah. Oh, I see.
Josh Arnold
I never knew those had a name.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. That's a beauty blender. Do you know what a Diva cup is?
Josh Arnold
I do, yes.
Christy Lee
Yeah. You know this. We've had it.
Bob Kevoian
Is this the. This is for. So women can urinate instead of.
Jess Hooker
No.
Josh Arnold
No.
Bob Kevoian
Stand up urinal.
Christy Lee
No.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, is this the. The instead of a tampon.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
You carry it around all day.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
It's a little ramekin.
Jess Hooker
It's like a shot glass.
Bob Kevoian
More of a shovakin. Be gentle. Now. That's. So that's.
Jess Hooker
It's Called a Diva Cup.
Bob Kevoian
And that's in. So you don't. You don't have to use a tampon.
Christy Lee
No, you take it out, rinse it out, put it back.
Jess Hooker
It's reusable.
Bob Kevoian
Have you ever tried that? That.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And your thoughts?
Jess Hooker
No, thanks. It's not for me.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Jess Hooker
No.
Bob Kevoian
Does it slosh?
Josh Arnold
I mean, it's a fair question.
Bob Kevoian
If it's. If it's a heavy day. Do people think you're wearing galoshes?
Tom Griswold
Can you wear one on a trampoline?
Jess Hooker
When I asked my husband what a Diva cup was, he thought it was like a Stanley or a Turvis for a woman.
Josh Arnold
Kind of makes sense.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Answers I would expect, John.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, exactly.
Bob Kevoian
Very good guess.
Jess Hooker
Do you know what an LBD is? What that stands for? Lbd.
Josh Arnold
I don't think I do.
Christy Lee
I do.
Bob Kevoian
Wait a minute. Is the first word ladies?
Jess Hooker
No, I can give you the first word. It's little. Little.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I know what it is.
Jess Hooker
You do? Go.
Tom Griswold
Little black dress.
Christy Lee
Little black dress.
Jess Hooker
Good job, Jeffy.
Christy Lee
I think Jeff's a woman.
Josh Arnold
Every woman should have the little black dress. Yeah, everyone. Or that's what they're. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
If Jeff's a woman, good luck getting an online date. I think. I think the beard is going to put off a lot of fellows.
Jess Hooker
Do you know what a water line is?
Josh Arnold
No.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know.
Jess Hooker
Guys have water lines, too.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, is this like a line in your face?
Jess Hooker
Kind of. It's in your eye. So it's this. It's the white part of your eye right there. That line around your eyelid.
Christy Lee
A lot of women use eyeliner.
Jess Hooker
They'll line it with eyeliner. So when you line your waterline. Line.
Josh Arnold
Gotcha.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
What?
Christy Lee
Yeah. Aren't you glad you're not a girl?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. For so many reasons.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Do you know what you would use purple shampoo for?
Josh Arnold
I don't.
Bob Kevoian
Is that a brand or is it a type?
Jess Hooker
No, it's literally just purple shampoo.
Christy Lee
It's the color. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
No.
Bob Kevoian
Is it. Does it involve something after you've had your hair dyed?
Jess Hooker
Yes, it does.
Jeff Oskay
Does. Oh, really?
Jess Hooker
Absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. So when you dye your hair blonde or you bleach it, it can get brassy after that. And so you use the purple to tone it down so it doesn't get brassy.
Josh Arnold
So any brand of purple shampoo is fine?
Jess Hooker
Yes. My husband asked the exact same question.
Christy Lee
That's so weird.
Bob Kevoian
Do they call it purple shampoo?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it just says purple shampoo, and every brand has a version. A lot of Brands have I. I
Josh Arnold
would say Tom got that right. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So, okay.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay. One point for Tom. Do you know what a kitten heel is?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, say it again.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Kitten heel like kitten.
Bob Kevoian
Like a kitty cat.
Jess Hooker
Yep, a kitten heel.
Bob Kevoian
It's a shoe thing.
Christy Lee
Yeah, it is. I wore them yesterday.
Jess Hooker
Yep, it is. Ace has it, right?
Bob Kevoian
It has.
Jess Hooker
It's a very small heel.
Christy Lee
It was on my flip flops yesterday. I wore kitten heel flip flops yesterday.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Why do they call them that?
Christy Lee
Smaller, tiny, little heel like a kitten.
Bob Kevoian
So are. Are the big ones cat heels? No, no, it doesn't limit the migs. Is not logical. You see why I get.
Christy Lee
I get extra logical.
Jess Hooker
Do you know what a claw clip is?
Bob Kevoian
Hair thing, maybe?
Jess Hooker
Yes, yes.
Bob Kevoian
Clip. I know what a hair clip is. I don't know what exactly a claw would be for.
Jess Hooker
It's the bigger one.
Josh Arnold
I have broken so many of those pretending that they're piranha playing with the clock.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, this where you do the pubic comb over gag?
Josh Arnold
Yes. You need the clock lid for that.
Tom Griswold
I like to put one around my wean and make it looks like it's in prison.
Josh Arnold
It fits you.
Tom Griswold
Hey, it's a big clip, my friend.
Bob Kevoian
Sadly. Sadly, juvenile prison.
Jess Hooker
Okay, if I have the option of square, almond, round, or coffin, what am I choosing?
Josh Arnold
Fingernails.
Bob Kevoian
Good job.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Those are shapes of fingernails. What?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, coffin.
Jess Hooker
Coffin is a shape. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Because coffin nails. Isn't that what they used to call cigarettes?
Christy Lee
Oh, I don't know.
Tom Griswold
Is it? I mean, that makes sense.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Anybody is not a slang term for cigarettes. Give me a couple coffin nails.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What were the other ones first for? Fingernails?
Jess Hooker
Square, round, almond, coffin. Also stiletto.
Bob Kevoian
Is that the shape of them or the sh.
Tom Griswold
What's the new one where it's just long and it comes to a crazy point?
Jess Hooker
Stiletto.
Tom Griswold
Stiletto.
Christy Lee
Those.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Those are real popular.
Josh Arnold
Really popular on Instagram.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, they're everywhere.
Tom Griswold
It's what your influence has.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Amy has that shape a lot.
Christy Lee
I had a server the other day. I don't know how she did her job.
Bob Kevoian
How do you type?
Christy Lee
Well, she didn't type. What's the point?
Josh Arnold
No, women do other things, Tom.
Christy Lee
She doesn't type.
Josh Arnold
You think your assistant just types?
Jeff Oskay
She.
Bob Kevoian
For her morning letter. Dear Tom, you were the best boss ever.
Christy Lee
Amy has beautiful nails.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Always.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So what are the really, really long ones called?
Jess Hooker
That is.
Bob Kevoian
It's a stiletto that are squared off at the end.
Jess Hooker
They're squares.
Bob Kevoian
That's one of the squares.
Jess Hooker
Square.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Do you care like a Toothbrush to clean the undersides after wiping.
Jess Hooker
I don't know. I don't. I. I don't have them stick. All right. Do you guys know what colostrum is?
Josh Arnold
Oh, I have heard this. I don't, but I know I have heard this.
Bob Kevoian
Is it a supplement?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, kind of. But it's natural.
Josh Arnold
It is natural. I even heard it in, like, anatomy class. Does that make sense?
Christy Lee
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
You would. There's another word, too, that goes along with it sometimes. Please?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Breast milk, usually.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
It's what comes in before your actual breast milk comes in.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Jess Hooker
It's like, so nutrient dense for a newborn.
Josh Arnold
I totally forgot about that term. It was sexual. Human sexuality is where I. Yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
Bob Kevoian
Colostrum.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What's this stuff called when you have a brand new baby and their first. The first thing they excrete?
Christy Lee
Meconium. Meconium.
Josh Arnold
Which sure sounds a lot nicer than what it is.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yeah. Merconium sounds like. Hey, I heard you made a billion dollars. Oh, I got in on the merconium thing.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Jess Hooker
Is that right?
Tom Griswold
I think we're off. But where. You know what we're doing? I was there.
Josh Arnold
The merconium.
Bob Kevoian
Ipo, maybe.
Josh Arnold
Mercurium. It's something like that.
Christy Lee
Jeez.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. What is that called?
Jess Hooker
I don't know, but it's.
Bob Kevoian
I know that mercurium sounds like that. That pink stuff you used to. When you were a kid, when you got a cut, your mom would put that on your arm.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
None of these words are correct. I'm sorry.
Jess Hooker
Okay, here's the last one.
Christy Lee
We were close.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Very good.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Do you know what a money piece is?
Tom Griswold
I know what it is to me.
Bob Kevoian
Is it an object? A thing?
Jess Hooker
It's not an object. It's more of something that you have done.
Josh Arnold
Okay. I don't.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
I like it, though.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Do you know what it is?
Jess Hooker
A money piece is. Is a. Is a chunk of hair up front, usually in the fringe or around your face. That is a solid color, usually blonde.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I love that look.
Jess Hooker
A big chunk.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
And it's so. It's not highlighted. It doesn't flow into your hair. It's a hard stop.
Christy Lee
Never heard of that.
Jess Hooker
Too big.
Josh Arnold
Would one strip of blonde in a brunette, would that count as a money.
Jess Hooker
That's a money piece. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Why is.
Bob Kevoian
Why is it called a money.
Jess Hooker
I have no idea because I know it's very strange.
Bob Kevoian
Do hookers primarily do that?
Jess Hooker
And. No, it's. It's been possible.
Josh Arnold
Has a Cool one is the. The gymnast in the Olympics.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Josh Arnold
The American gym. She had a cool one.
Jess Hooker
Yes, she has. Well, hers are strut pipes.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah, she does horizontal, actually.
Bob Kevoian
That's money pieces.
Jess Hooker
Money pieces. Multiple.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Christy Lee
I never heard that. I learned something today.
Jess Hooker
My husband thought it was like a shape of a waxing.
Christy Lee
That's what I like.
Jess Hooker
You get that money?
Christy Lee
I was thinking it was something down there, too. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Huh.
Josh Arnold
Okay, well, I think I got two,
Jess Hooker
so I think each of you guys got two, actually, because I got that.
Josh Arnold
I got claw clip without. Actually. I didn't say it out loud.
Jess Hooker
No. Yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
But, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Thanks very much.
Jess Hooker
We need to do one for girls. My husband asked me a couple of questions.
Josh Arnold
And you remember what they were?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. If I knew what PSI stood for.
Josh Arnold
Okay. Yeah. Do you know Christy Pound.
Christy Lee
Oh, square inch.
Jess Hooker
There you go.
Christy Lee
Yeah, yeah. Pounds per square inch.
Jess Hooker
I think the other one was like, what does 104 stand for?
Christy Lee
104 good buddy.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. It's understood, right?
Bob Kevoian
You know, men can't read minds. You know that one?
Jess Hooker
What?
Tom Griswold
No.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Josh Arnold
No woman knows that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, there were a couple other. I. I can't remember, but, you know,
Bob Kevoian
the posters that say on sale is a joke. Sorry. These are just things. I'm things.
Josh Arnold
Do you know my bare penis feels a lot like latex?
Bob Kevoian
Okay, well, we've got to get back to the news desk. With Christy Lee having exited the NHTSA Sports desk. What have you got, Christy?
Christy Lee
A Washington state man helped stop a fire at his neighbor's home, even though he was completely nude. Wesley Howard told King tv, that's K I N G that his fiance woke him up just after midnight, July 5, saw an orange fireball outside. He did not even stop to put shorts on before running out in the buff to begin fighting the flames with a garden hose.
Bob Kevoian
This guy's right.
Christy Lee
He's.
Bob Kevoian
This guy's Navy vet. Do we have any of this video? Yeah. Okay. There's a. A pretty big fire on that.
Josh Arnold
I thought that was the guy on fire.
Jess Hooker
I know.
Bob Kevoian
And you see the. The garden hose? He runs out, and he is completely naked. And then he'll kill. Come on. There he is. Now, you can. Fortunately, it's from the back, but obviously the guy. I mean, the fire, the flames are going 20ft in the air.
Christy Lee
Yeah. He's trying to stop him from being in his yard.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. This guy's not saving the other house.
Bob Kevoian
Well, he's saving the other.
Josh Arnold
Of course he's helping. Of course he is.
Bob Kevoian
Then there's a. There's a guy on the other side of the flames. Yeah, I mean, this is a pretty big fire.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that's nothing to mess around with. And that could get out of control really quickly.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Christy Lee
Oh, my gosh.
Bob Kevoian
He's running back in the house. I'm not sure what he's going to get, but good for that guy.
Christy Lee
East Pierce county fire.
Josh Arnold
Raging erection.
Christy Lee
He's a pyro.
Bob Kevoian
Is that what do.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Oh, yeah, they can.
Josh Arnold
There must be some. Yeah, for some there is a sexual asset.
Bob Kevoian
Would have been great if he'd used both hoses. If he did.
Tom Griswold
What the hell?
Josh Arnold
I gotta.
Bob Kevoian
I just woke up in the middle of that. I gotta go anyway.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, perfect.
Christy Lee
East Pierce County Fire and Rescue arrived about 10 minutes later and took over. Mr. Howard suffered minor burns to his foot and forearm, but his home was spared and his neighbor's house had only minor damage.
Josh Arnold
Believe it or not, it looks like it's mostly outside.
Christy Lee
Yeah. They believe the blaze may have started from fireworks in a trash bin that had not been fully extinguished.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. You want to bucket those first? Water bucket?
Bob Kevoian
No, I've got a bunch of fire extinguishers.
Christy Lee
I know you do.
Bob Kevoian
I got a. I got two fire blankets.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, those are good. I haven't had. Thankfully, I haven't had to use mine
Tom Griswold
yet, but I know they aren't very comfortable to sleep under.
Bob Kevoian
But when you're. When you're hot. As hot as Oscar in bed. His. His girlfriend insists. I. I've. I've used a fire extinguisher.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah? Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, and when it were. Because some moron me almost said his. Almost said his living room on fire.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah. An Easter basket.
Tom Griswold
Wait, you used it inside the house?
Christy Lee
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Messy. Yeah, I told you the story. My brother sent me a thing of fruit for Christmas. A basket. And it had this giant hoop on it. You know, those. Those things. And it was this heavily lacquered basket and I had a fire going and it was freezing. I thought, this thing will burn like crazy.
Josh Arnold
He is a bit of a pyro.
Bob Kevoian
So I. I heaved it into the chimney, into the. Excuse me. Into the fireplace and that big hoop thing. Yeah, shut the flu.
Jeff Oskay
Oh.
Bob Kevoian
So then the flames.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I had to have the whole mantle redone. I had to have the ceiling repainted. Oh, it was brilliant.
Christy Lee
Somebody was happy with you that day.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, I was in charge of my life then. Those were different days. Those. No, if that happened to me now, I'd be kicked out of my own house. No, but I. Yeah, so I. I grabbed the fire extinguishers because I've been around fire extinguishers my whole life but you never get a chance to actually shoot one off. So. Oh, I pulled the pin and yeah.
Jess Hooker
You don't enjoy the fun of it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Because it's an emergency.
Bob Kevoian
Oh yeah. I mean there. And by the way, there was smoke everywhere. It took me a year to recover from all cleaned up. So by the way, lesson learned. Those lacquered baskets, man, did they go up in flight. And God knows I'm sure it was giving off something so toxic.
Josh Arnold
Oh yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Years from now they'll probably go, well, you know him out, he inhaled toxic fruit basket and now he's got liver rania or something.
Christy Lee
We just had a story that mentioned fireworks in Montana. Authorities say vandals blew up a dozen Porta Potties and Billings.
Tom Griswold
That's nothing. Blown up way more bathrooms than that.
Jess Hooker
Oh, we know. Yeah.
Christy Lee
We are very well aware. The company known as European Porta Potties
Bob Kevoian
by the way they spread. Spell it.
Christy Lee
U R A P E E I
Josh Arnold
N. You were importing those.
Bob Kevoian
But I. Have you noticed that there are certain businesses typically, I think the. Probably the most likely one would be hair places.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That do the play on words thing.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Curl up and die.
Bob Kevoian
Hair apparent. Yeah, all that. But a lot of the. It seems a lot of the porta potty places are doing that now too.
Christy Lee
Well, might as well.
Bob Kevoian
They've got the cute little name and
Christy Lee
they anticipate losing some of their portable potties each Independence Day. But this year the company estimates it.
Josh Arnold
Portable potties. I don't want anything to do with that.
Bob Kevoian
That's gotta be. Those are some really good filters. I'll tell you what. Well, went in as diarrhea, came out as delightful. Delightful potable water.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Mine is still having trouble. I need better filters. Mine comes out looking like Goldschlager.
Christy Lee
They lost about $12,000 in damages to their portable toilets. Co owner Chris Vogel told Cowboy State Daily we typically lose four to five toilets every year due to fireworks. There have been at least 13 this year. Worse than normal. I think That's a bummer, Mr. Nope. Yeah. He said most of the toilets were blown apart by large explosives which are not the type of fireworks you can buy at a firework stand in the state of Montana.
Josh Arnold
And most, I mean I like some van, like some pranks. I don't like this one.
Bob Kevoian
You know, there's, you know, there's some 17 year old guy. If I drive to Wyoming, I can get the good. I can get the, the, what would it be, the BM 80s? The I can get the good stuff. That'll really blow them to smithereens, man. Coming up, a little bit of a history lesson for you. As we like to do right now, I want to say hello to our friends at nhtsa and they want to say hello to you and they want to remind you about the dangers of speeding. It's not just getting a ticket. That isn't always going to be the worst part of it. If you're speeding, a sharp turn could take you by surprise. You could veer off the road. You could hit somebody. Truck in front of you could break. Suddenly you're going too fast. You could get injured, as could the other driver. Don't want to hit a bicyclist. They've got just as much right to be in the road as you do. And if you're speeding, your impact could send them to the hospital. Your friends could be walking their dog out on the street. And your foot on the gas could be bad news, tragedy for, for the the guy walking the dog and the lady walking the dog and the dog to be careful out there. That's what Nitza wants you to remember. You may not think of some of this stuff. You might think it could never happen to me, but it could. So be careful out there. Keep your foot off the accelerator. When you're speeding, you don't have time to correct. You don't have time to stop. And it just takes an instant for disaster to strike. The speed limit is there to protect you, you and to protect everybody else out there, protect your passengers, protect other drivers by going the proper speed, protect cyclists, predict, protect pedestrians, et cetera, et cetera. Everyone sharing the road. So slow down, obey the law and help keep everybody around you safe. It's not just about you. Remember that. Speeding will catch up with you once again. Paid for by nhtsa. Thank you very much, nhtsa. When we come back, we're going to hit you with some interesting history. Also, also, we have a toy warning out there for parents if you've got any of those squishy toys. We've got news for you and good news from the world of automobiles and vehicles. The banana car is out there. It's running and it's bringing joy to people across this great country of ours. We hope to get it in our parking lot someday. But the banana car is in the news. From the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, this is the Bob and Tom Show.

Josh Arnold
hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee's there at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Yep.
Josh Arnold
Jess Hooker's across the way.
Jess Hooker
Hi.
Josh Arnold
She just gave us a really fun quiz. Men don't know a lot. There's Jeff Oskay.
Tom Griswold
Yes, sir.
Josh Arnold
Ace Cosby's there. Hey, I'm Josh Arnold, working on the quiz for women.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Josh Arnold
There's Tom. My first question for you ladies.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Do you know you can watch a movie without asking questions during it?
Bob Kevoian
Now, once again, if you're just joining us, can you give me one of the ones you gave us before that we all got wrong?
Jess Hooker
Money. You kind of got money piece, right, didn't he? Because I said it had something to do with hair.
Bob Kevoian
Money pieces. When a woman has, like, black hair, but she's got a. A blonde.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
It's like a statement piece is what
Josh Arnold
I. I like it.
Jess Hooker
Lbd. Well, Jeffy got that, but that one. You guys, do you remember.
Bob Kevoian
What was it again?
Josh Arnold
Little black.
Tom Griswold
Black dress.
Jess Hooker
Little black.
Bob Kevoian
Little black. Okay, okay. Gtf.
Christy Lee
That's not on there, but we all.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, sorry, sorry. So, yeah, we're going to do. I want to do that on Monday. Come up with a complete list of things.
Josh Arnold
Sure.
Bob Kevoian
Ladies.
Christy Lee
I won't be here.
Tom Griswold
Josh. There's nothing I love more than sitting with my lady and we sit down together and turn on a show, and we've been watching it for 45 minutes, and she looks over at me and goes, so why is blah, blah, blah doing blah, blah, blah? And I go, you have all the same information I do. I don't know either.
Bob Kevoian
That's funny, because that's. Kelly says that to me constantly.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Like we're both privy to the same.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. But I can't pay attention at the same level that she can.
Jeff Oskay
Right.
Bob Kevoian
That's the problem. That's exactly what's happening with her.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
She probably is enlightened, such as I am, and that the mind is drifting off into more important things.
Christy Lee
So when you're telling. You're asking Kelly those questions constantly and
Bob Kevoian
she'll say to me, I know exactly what you know.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
But she should know that I can't pay attention to anything.
Christy Lee
Why do you even bother watching tv?
Bob Kevoian
I very rarely do.
Jess Hooker
There was a guy online who made a slideshow show and put it on a projector above the TV because he was going to watch a movie with his mom, and she was constantly asking questions. And so he predicted the questions that she would ask through the movie and they would pop up with the answers so that she wouldn't talk to him.
Christy Lee
How would he know what she's gonna ask?
Tom Griswold
That's how.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, well, we'll work on that for Monday. Oh, we got to do history here.
Christy Lee
So I.
Jess Hooker
10th.
Bob Kevoian
I'm a little bit behind here. Discombobulated. July 10th, 2026. Okay, here we go. This is a good one right off the bat.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
No one will know this if I. I think I have. I have a dollar right here. United States American dollar.
Josh Arnold
Quit bragging.
Bob Kevoian
I got six. I got five. I got six bucks here. Six bucks. If anybody gets this, you can have my $6. Because I. And I would. By the way. I would never get this. In 1850, Vice President Millard Fillmore was sworn in as president after. Who died of an intestinal ailment? Anybody?
Christy Lee
McKinley.
Bob Kevoian
No, he. McKinley was shot. Oh, no one's gonna get it. I would never have gotten it. Zachary Taylor, he died of an intestinal ailment. Oh, did you know it thought it was Garfield? Sorry, Christopher, you owe me 10 bucks. Yeah, he. He died obviously just a handful of days after July 4th. Apparently he ate a sandwich with a lot of mayonnaise on it.
Christy Lee
See, there you go.
Bob Kevoian
While watching the fourth of July.
Christy Lee
Never eat mayonnaise.
Bob Kevoian
Fourth of July fireworks. Yeah.
Christy Lee
Proving my point.
Bob Kevoian
Millard film. Suppose his buddies called him duck because it's so close to Mallard.
Jeff Oskay
It's not.
Josh Arnold
It's not close enough to be called Duck. You bet it happened. You think they called him pool table because it's so close to billiard?
Bob Kevoian
Probably. This is a bizarre one. This is really odd. In 1962, the three point seat belt was patented.
Tom Griswold
So.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
It went over the shoulder.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it was just a lap.
Bob Kevoian
But I don't know what, what year did they require seat belts in cars? Because in the beginning the seat belts were not three point. They were just the lap belts. And I can remember my aunt got aftermarket seat belts put in her Impala. I'm totally serious. Yeah. So I don't know what. I'm not sure when they be became.
Christy Lee
I'm looking it up.
Bob Kevoian
The three point seat belt patented in 62, I believe. The three point shot. When was that in the NBA? 79. Yeah. The ABA had it first. Absolutely. Thank you. But it's my understanding that the, the
Christy Lee
patent, 1968, they became mandatory in seat belts.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. So the NBA said. It's my understanding that Steph Curry currently gets royalties from the three point seat seatbelt. Because he's such a badass with the three pointer. Oh, I wish Pat were here. 1964, the Beatles release A Hard Day's Night.
Christy Lee
That's a good song.
Bob Kevoian
Do you think that's the most recognizable chord? You hear that? You know, okay. Here.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Not to mention. Great.
Christy Lee
But Paul McCartney makes a. An appearance on the new Rolling Stones album. Did you know that?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Plays it, plays bass.
Tom Griswold
Is there a Hard Day's Night movie?
Chick McGee
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Okay. I. That is a Monkeys movie if I've ever seen one.
Bob Kevoian
Well, no, no, no. The Hard Days Night predates the monkeys.
Tom Griswold
No, I think I'm right. I think the Beatles stole it from the Monkeys.
Bob Kevoian
And there's a great song. I. What was this? Lennon and McCartney were. They needed another song and one of the producers said, we need this in an hour or something. Something. And they did it. And I think they wrote eight Days a Week or something in a trailer. And Lennon said to the guy, don't you ever effing pressure me to do that again. I'm not sure which. Which song it was. I think it was eight days a week. Eight. 1985. This is an easy one. What did Coca Cola announce Ms. Hooker in 1985?
Jess Hooker
Cherry Coke.
Bob Kevoian
Nope.
Christy Lee
Diet Coke?
Bob Kevoian
No, much more important. It was an earth shattering event.
Josh Arnold
New Coke.
Bob Kevoian
They. They announced the return of old Coke.
Josh Arnold
Thank goodness. Coca Cola Classic.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. New Coke, a famous disaster, right?
Christy Lee
Oh, it was 85.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Was that during Clear Pepsi too?
Josh Arnold
That was a few years later. That was 90s 2018.
Christy Lee
Crystal People.
Josh Arnold
Crystal Pepsi.
Bob Kevoian
2018. The last of those Thai soccer team team kids were brought out of the cave successfully.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Rabid. Is anything
Christy Lee
full of bat bites.
Bob Kevoian
I remember. Did you see the video? The one kid, the last kid comes out and the coach goes, you crow. Where's the ball? What language do they speak?
Christy Lee
I have no idea what that was.
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
What's the kid's name? I'm sorry.
Christy Lee
It was in Thailand, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know much about Thailand.
Josh Arnold
Funny. If we. One kid, nobody. They were like, who the hell's this? Right?
Jess Hooker
Somebody comes out.
Josh Arnold
We went in with 13, we left with 14.
Bob Kevoian
But it shows you how boring soccer is. They'd rather go into a cave and watch a soccer game. Oh, sorry. Happy birthday, Nikola Tesla.
Christy Lee
He makes a nice coil.
Josh Arnold
I sure does. We would. We would barely have a Frankenstein movie without him.
Christy Lee
You're right.
Bob Kevoian
Although I bet he wouldn't. I bet he wouldn't like the cyber truck. He'd go, hey, Elon, come here. That's One ugly truck.
Josh Arnold
It looks too futuristic.
Bob Kevoian
Let's see. Do you suppose he gets royalties from the Hair band or the car?
Christy Lee
He's dead. It doesn't matter.
Josh Arnold
Tesla, the Hair Five man electrical band.
Christy Lee
I remember Tesla.
Chick McGee
Of course.
Bob Kevoian
What was their big hit?
Josh Arnold
Signs.
Bob Kevoian
Signs.
Josh Arnold
They're their cover of Signs.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, this is. I love this guy. He's been going on for God many years. Ronnie James dio. Born in 1942 as Ronald James Padavone. Nice Italian boy.
Josh Arnold
As tall as Christie.
Christy Lee
Is he short?
Bob Kevoian
5 4?
Christy Lee
Oh, I'm a little shorter than that, but Sadly.
Bob Kevoian
Oh. See, 16 years ago, he went Dio.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. That's the right response. Ace. Wow.
Bob Kevoian
His name was D. And I like
Josh Arnold
some of the Black Sabbath deal.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I do, too.
Josh Arnold
It's not. It's not bad.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, he's great. I'm not sure what a Holy Diver is, but.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Remember the album cover with the Pope going off the diving? I don't know. I always wanted to do a. I have a. You could do a really cool game show with him. Let's Make a deal behind the First Curtain. Oh, I love this guy. He's also gone. Ron Glass. You know who Ron Glass is, Christy.
Christy Lee
He was on Barney Miller.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, I remember him from Evansville, Indiana. Terrific actor. I really thought he was great. He was also in the Odd Couple. They did a.
Christy Lee
One of their mini remakes.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. They did a black version of that. Yeah, it was good.
Bob Kevoian
And with the guy from Sanford and Son.
Josh Arnold
Right. I think it was.
Bob Kevoian
And then he was. What? Firefly.
Josh Arnold
He's also in it. The miniseries.
Bob Kevoian
Happy birthday. Arlo Guthrie, born in 1947. Happy birthday. Phyllis Smith from the Office.
Josh Arnold
She's funny.
Bob Kevoian
Did you know that? Did you know that she wasn't auditioning for that show?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
She was working for a casting company and she was reading the lines opposite the actors. Auditioning.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And the producers thought, wait a minute. She is perfect. Yeah. Kind of a fun thing. Pronounce this name for me, Ms. Hooker.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Born in 1958, the great banjo player, Mr. Fleck. First name B, E, L, A.
Jess Hooker
B, E, L, A.
Bob Kevoian
It's not Bella, it's Bela. But growing up, they always said Bella Fleck. Yeah, we all. Because we all said Bela Lugosi.
Christy Lee
Right.
Bob Kevoian
The famous Dracula. But that his also technically should be Bayla.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Now, this guy is terrific. And I'm not. I'm gonna really struggle to pronounce his name. Peter Seraphinowicz. Am I getting it right?
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Christy Lee
Who is it?
Bob Kevoian
You'd Recognize him immediately. He was the tick.
Josh Arnold
Oh, British guy.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, the British guy. He's a huge voiceover guy. I think it's Seraphine. It's. Anyway, he's one of those guys. You see him? Oh, that guy. Yeah, he's really good. Sofia Vergara.
Christy Lee
Oh, you like her, don't you?
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh, yes.
Jess Hooker
And she's so funny.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, really funny.
Jess Hooker
Funny.
Josh Arnold
Seems humanitarian.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I can give you two reasons why Bob loved the show Modern Family, and they're both Sophia. Oh, geez. Come on. I can't get. Get this one.
Jess Hooker
What?
Bob Kevoian
Chatel, Edgy offer.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Close.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Is that close from 12 Years a Slave? Great actor.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Really good actor.
Bob Kevoian
Suppose his agent said to him, look, chewy, buddy, could you become. I don't know.
Christy Lee
Nobody's changing their name anymore.
Bob Kevoian
Kareem Johnson.
Christy Lee
It's not the thing to do, you know, his.
Bob Kevoian
His name looks like you took a bunch of Scrabble letters and just heaved them on a board and they came up with. It's a. It's a toughie, but he's a great actor. Lastly, happy birthday, Adrian Grenier from Entourage.
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Have you seen that car? The. It looks like an old Land Rover called, like, the Grenadier. It's awesome.
Christy Lee
Oh, we talked about that off the end. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
They've got a BMW engine. They're made in France. I'd really like to drive one of those.
Christy Lee
But that's not that you will be able to. That's not, you know, the people.
Bob Kevoian
Adrian. No, I don't know what. He's got one of those.
Christy Lee
Really?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. It looks like a vintage Land Rover. Yeah, those are with a BMW engine. I mean, thank you, God. And lastly, Jessica Simpson. I actually read her book.
Tom Griswold
She's.
Josh Arnold
She was really sort of unfairly.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Portrayed as being dumb as rocks.
Bob Kevoian
She's a billionaire, and now she's got a lot of dough and she's pretty.
Josh Arnold
She wasn't dumb back then either.
Christy Lee
No.
Jess Hooker
And she. She makes some of the most comfortable heels, like she knew what she was doing with the woman's foot. And you can wear them all day.
Bob Kevoian
Wow. What's funny? Because Oscar was telling me how comfortable he thought they were when he was doing his new thing where he dresses as a woman.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. No bunions.
Bob Kevoian
Where to? Come back. These are the O'Reilly Auto Part Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jeff Oskay
More of the show is on the way. You can find us on X at Bob and Tom or you can email us at Bob and tom@bobandtom.com top.
Bob Kevoian
Hey. No.
Josh Arnold
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom show live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee's at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Yep.
Josh Arnold
Jess Hooker was doing some doom scrolling just now.
Christy Lee
I was.
Josh Arnold
Anything good?
Jess Hooker
No, I'm trying to find a recipe for dinner tonight.
Josh Arnold
Oh, how about Pizza Hut? Oskay.
Chick McGee
Hello.
Josh Arnold
He's at the Nitza sports desk. Ace Cosby's at the. The engineering booth. Hello, I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom, one of my favorites.
Christy Lee
Always a hit.
Bob Kevoian
Breakfast for dinner? Nothing better?
Jess Hooker
Well, we have an outdoor projector, and so we're gonna do a movie night.
Josh Arnold
Oh, fun.
Jess Hooker
And so I'm trying to. And you said sandlot, and I thought maybe we do a sandlot themed. We watch that movie and. And do something like that.
Christy Lee
You need to watch sandlot too.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Christy Lee
Trust me.
Jess Hooker
I'll get. I'll give it a try.
Josh Arnold
Maybe you do a double feature.
Jess Hooker
Oh, we could.
Josh Arnold
You could go. I mean, you want to go ballpark food? Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Hot dogs, nachos, Some.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Popcorn, obviously, because.
Jess Hooker
Yes, we have to do popcorn.
Christy Lee
Think what you get at the drive in. You get popcorn. Popcorn.
Tom Griswold
Soft pretzel.
Christy Lee
There you go.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Sex, second base. You know, the usual. So I'm.
Jeff Oskay
I'm.
Christy Lee
You need to take your kids to a drive in this year.
Josh Arnold
I love a soft pretzel. You know what? I'd rather have a soft pretzel than
Jess Hooker
an H. And that's where you are.
Bob Kevoian
I don't. I don't like people eating in my car.
Josh Arnold
When we went to the drive in, we used to get lawn chairs and sit outside.
Christy Lee
Sit outside. Or put the table up or you. The back. Put the back up. Yeah, you. Yeah, you park backwards.
Bob Kevoian
You know, I hate. You also know that I hate eating outside.
Christy Lee
You're just no fun.
Josh Arnold
No, I hate why he also hates movies. You know what? The drive is not for him. He ain't tell the driver he's short.
Christy Lee
Changing his children out of a wonderful experience.
Josh Arnold
Remember how honked at the guy who left his headlights on too long?
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
There's like a whole etiquette. There's drive.
Bob Kevoian
I don't even know that. I don't know the etiquette.
Jess Hooker
Oh, you would. Yeah, you'd wreck a lot of people's experience.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I do that every day.
Josh Arnold
One of the greatest nights of my life was at a drive in. It was the family. And we saw Indiana Jones in the Last Crusade and the Naked Gun.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, see, the Naked Gun is one of the greatest movies.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that was Two of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Last night I was having dinner with Finn, my 13 year old daughter, and I looked up and there was a. It was one of those places where there's a restaurant over here and the bar is kind of in the other room, but they had a huge TV in there, which I hate, by the way, in restaurants.
Christy Lee
Yeah, we know.
Bob Kevoian
And. But I. I saw.
Josh Arnold
What are they doing?
Bob Kevoian
And it was a commercial for the bug assault. Salt.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I'd never heard of which are these. These like pistol rifle things that you put salt in and they shoot flies.
Christy Lee
I thought you ordered one.
Bob Kevoian
I have got to get one. I was starting to order one and I got sidetracked.
Christy Lee
Oh, that's a shock.
Bob Kevoian
But they're so cool.
Josh Arnold
I almost got you one when I was at Bass Pro last week, but I couldn't remember if you wanted the more pistol or more rifle one.
Tom Griswold
And you were.
Josh Arnold
I. I didn't know if I could
Christy Lee
text you, but I think you're a pistol guy, aren't you?
Josh Arnold
Pistol packing mama.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know.
Christy Lee
I mean, I. Oh, with the hat, you're right. The rifle might wear.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Does the rifle have more distance and
Josh Arnold
is it a pump action?
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Well, which would you prefer?
Bob Kevoian
I don't know. Can you get. Can you get a bump stock on them so you can turn them into something serious? I mean, because you take out flies.
Jess Hooker
I have the electrified tennis racket.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
That's fun. My friends and I would see how long our. We would do the tip of our nose.
Christy Lee
Are you serious?
Josh Arnold
Hurts.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
There's a whole show dumb things that we did.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Oh, no, you get two of those and do like a little tennis racket like battle. They're fun.
Bob Kevoian
I see now it's time to go head back over to the news desk with Chris D. What have we missed?
Christy Lee
A Wyoming outhouse expert. Boy, there's a title on.
Bob Kevoian
You know, I'm in my third. I'm in my third year at university. Oh, what are you studying? Oh, I'm becoming an outhouse house expert.
Tom Griswold
Oh.
Josh Arnold
What? State
Christy Lee
urging people to stop trying to retrieve items lost inside vault toilets. Adam Fink, the owner of Laird Sanitation llc, explained doing so is simply not worth the risk or the effort. He told Boy Cowboy. State Daily is in the news a lot today. A vault toilet can be anywhere from 3 to 10ft deep. If you jump in, you may not be touching bottom.
Josh Arnold
Well, you're kind of touching bottom.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, my God.
Christy Lee
Mr. Fink continued. Aside from a family heirloom or wedding ring, it's not worth digging through a pile of waste to recover something that's fallen into a toilet.
Josh Arnold
Is wedding ring even worth it?
Christy Lee
No. No. I love you, honey, but no.
Tom Griswold
Can you tread trowel? Like, can you keep yourself afloat?
Jess Hooker
It's like quicksand, I guess.
Bob Kevoian
There's probably a lot of liquid in there.
Christy Lee
Even if you do drop something that you really want back, you should always call someone, not try to get it yourself. Not only are vault toilets filled with the same biodegradable chemical solution and portable toilets, but they're also the lily pads that give people a false sense of hope. I guess that's because they're lower to the ground and they're. We're talking about the ones that are at outhouse. Basically, they're not.
Tom Griswold
So if you got a three or four year old you can grab by the ankles, lower them down, they could probably retrieve it right off the top.
Bob Kevoian
Now, we had a. This has been in the news because we had two of these in the last couple weeks. The first one was the guy in Fresno. They had to call the Fresno Sheriff's Department to get this poor guy out. He fell into a toilet and. Shaffer Shaver Lake after dropping his sunglasses in. Yeah, the first article said they sprayed him down before and decontaminated him. But the, the second one was, it turned out when they got there, he didn't speak English, so they had to hide. They had to get someone to come over and translate. I'm sure the first thing they translated was numero dose, explaining what he was doing, but he had. He had dropped his sunglasses in there, which is, as I pointed out, was probably the. The second worst accident involving sunglasses since OJ Took out Ron Goldman. Oh, never mind. But I've got a better one for you. This is. This is so brutal.
Josh Arnold
You love these.
Bob Kevoian
This one. This one, though, there's a lot of detail. Okay, this is from the Associated Press. A woman who accidentally dropped her cell phone into the hole of an outhouse in a national forest, fell in while trying to retrieve it. She had to be rescued by firefighters in Washington state. Brennan Fire Department Chief Tim Manley said the woman who was at the top of Mount Walker in the Olympic National Forest northwest of Seattle, had been using her phone when it fell into the toilet. Described as a vault toilet, the tank stores up to 1,000 gallons of what they describe as excreta. I believe that's the Latin for pool of poop. Mr. Manley said she disassembled the toilet seat and used dog leashes to try to get the phone, eventually using the leashes to tie herself off as she
Josh Arnold
reached for it Tom Cruise style.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, this gets better. That effort failed and she fell head first into the toilet.
Christy Lee
And that the reason she did that is why Mr. Fink is talking about here. He said these tanks or vaults develop a bit of a crust on top. So the toilet paper, you'll see looks kind of like a lily pad. And the objects will fall on top and you think that's the bottom, when reality is, it's not.
Josh Arnold
You bust through that.
Christy Lee
Right?
Josh Arnold
Exactly eight feet, I hear.
Christy Lee
By the way, what's going on there?
Bob Kevoian
After this happened, this woman, I understand she had really crappy cell phone service. Can you imagine?
Christy Lee
No.
Jeff Oskay
God.
Tom Griswold
Like, even if you could retrieve it, do you want it back?
Christy Lee
No, it's all in the cloud. Get it.
Bob Kevoian
There was a whole thing on Reddit of what would you. What objects do you have that you would. If they dropped it, would you actually take the time and trouble to close clean off?
Josh Arnold
I just don't know that I, I, I don't know what I have.
Tom Griswold
I'm poor enough, I don't care about anything that I own, but this guy,
Bob Kevoian
I love the way they describe this guy as an outhouse expert. Hey, dude, quit bragging, okay? Yeah, we all know that you're okay. What's coming up in the news, Christy?
Christy Lee
Coming up, we have giant banana car is drawing some attention. As we talked about earlier, these squishy toys, the needles are causing some problems, including cars. And the payphone hotline is back in an interesting way.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, this is really interesting because there's an entire generation that's never seen a payphone, Right. That probably doesn't even know how to use a regular, regular phone.
Christy Lee
And we were talking about you scrolling through your phone. What videos do people want to look at? They're oddly satisfying. They're watching some of these interesting clips on.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, yeah, that's a survey. I saw that. And it's kind of interesting. Yeah, I was really surprised that one of that, One of the most. The category of the most viewed videos.
Jess Hooker
Can I guess one.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Pimple popping.
Bob Kevoian
That's it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I couldn't believe it. Yeah, I've never seen one of them.
Josh Arnold
Not for me.
Jess Hooker
Not me either.
Josh Arnold
But there's a huge audience for it.
Christy Lee
They have a TV show about it.
Jess Hooker
They make fake skin that people can order and pop pimples at.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Awful.
Bob Kevoian
What?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Christy Lee
Followed closely by something you did yesterday, Jess.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, I follow one of those. Those are good ones.
Bob Kevoian
Wow. Okay. We'll find out what those videos are. Right now, I want to ask you about those credit card bills. Yikes. If they get. Sometimes when times get rough, you end up spending a lot of money on your credit cards. Then you start realizing, wait a minute, I'm paying 20 plus percent interest on these. These things may be a good time to try to grab some cash and pay them off. That's where American Financing comes in. And what this is about is taking the equity in your house. If you've owned your house for a while and you can refinance it now, let's just say you bought your house 10 years ago, it's probably worth about twice as much. These are some averages. I was just looking this up. The average house in America has pretty much doubled in value with respect to what it'll go for on the market these days. Days in the last 10 years. So if you've owned a house for five years, probably up 30, 40%. It depends, of course, on your particular situation, location, et cetera, et cetera. But you may be able to take advantage of that additional equity and refinance the place and get some cash out of it. Pay off your credit cards or, I don't know, buy some new appliances, whatever. It's your money. Do whatever you want with it. American Financing specializes in helping people refinance. Even though interest rates may be higher than they were when you first got a mortgage, you can still take advantage of the equity and you may find yourself with a lower mortgage payment after all. For example, they're saying their average customer right now is paying about saving about 800 bucks a month on their mortgage payments. So find out what's going on. No upfront fees from American Financing. No pressure. At about 10 minutes, they can tell you whether or not this might work for you. So give them a call. It's American financing. 866-889-2611. Or just go to the website americanfinancing.net do me a favor. Put Bob and Tom. So you go. AmericanFinancing.net Bobatom that'll tell them that we sent you, and we're happy to do so, and they're happy to hear from you. Once again, American financing.net nmls182334 nmlsconsumeraccess.org average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.
Josh Arnold
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom Show. My gosh, thank you for being here with us. We're live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Well, hello.
Josh Arnold
Jess Hooker's over there. Hi, there's Jeff Oskay at the NHTSA sports desk.
Tom Griswold
Yes, sir.
Josh Arnold
Ace Cosby across the way. Howdy. I'm Josh Arnold and there to my left. Oh, Captain. Our captain, Tom Griswold.
Bob Kevoian
I prefer your majesty.
Josh Arnold
I'll remember that.
Bob Kevoian
Got a couple letters. We got to clarify some stuff. We've learned a few things today. Did you explain the bucket thing to her yet?
Josh Arnold
You may have been in here. When we had a thomism, a man's wife was doing some cleaning of the car, wanted the shop vac to be moved and asked her husband to please move the suck bucket.
Jess Hooker
The suck bucket?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I think the suck bucket should become part of the parlance, if you will. You could call someone. Yeah, what a suck buck bucket.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
That is good.
Josh Arnold
It's something simple, you know that you're playing catch and they drop the football. Yeah, you suck bucket.
Bob Kevoian
I like that very much. We've also learned a little bit of history today. We just learned that from a so called outhouse expert. Don't. If you've dropped anything in there, don't go off. Don't go.
Christy Lee
I don't think anyone needs anyone to tell them that.
Bob Kevoian
But how do people drop stuff? Don't check your work at an outhouse. Get it done and move on.
Josh Arnold
You don't look in.
Bob Kevoian
Don't, don't take your. Don't take your wedding ring and spin it around your finger. Don't take your camera out. Don't, don't drop your sunglasses.
Josh Arnold
But I, at least, I, at least look. I want to see how mine meshes with everything else. You don't want to see how it
Bob Kevoian
adds to the collage. Okay, sorry. Let's move forward here.
Josh Arnold
We took a quiz. You don't want to see if you can recognize yours.
Bob Kevoian
We took a quiz. We. Ms. Hooker gave us a quiz that terms that men probably don't know about. About things in the, in the world of being a lady.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Bob Kevoian
Can you give me one more example?
Jess Hooker
What's the. The beauty blender. We did that.
Bob Kevoian
The beauty blender I found out is a sponge that you use to makeup.
Christy Lee
Sponge.
Josh Arnold
Oscar knew it right away.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. They're all over our bathroom. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I never knew they had a name. I'm glad to know it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, There you go.
Bob Kevoian
The triangular sponges, maybe triangle.
Christy Lee
They could be sphere shaped.
Jeff Oskay
They could.
Christy Lee
There are all kinds of shapes now.
Bob Kevoian
So the point is we're looking.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. You're learning.
Christy Lee
What are you teaching you?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, well, I'm trying my best.
Josh Arnold
Well, here's a question for some women quiz. Do you know that you can bring up a topic that's very serious when I'm not about to drift off to sleep? You could do it, say, at dinner.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Josh, I have a feeling that these aren't questions for Christy or I.
Josh Arnold
These might be directed toward ex.
Tom Griswold
I don't know. I feel like those are very universal.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. My question was, do you know how long I haven't been able to read your mind?
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Christy Lee
There's something about laying in bed, though, that all of a sudden you want to talk. I don't know what it is.
Josh Arnold
I have given you four chances. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
No.
Josh Arnold
Is there something you want to talk about? No. Somebody wants. No.
Christy Lee
And that's not even serious.
Josh Arnold
And as I am literally entering dream world, you know, there is something I want to. I am about to throw you out the window.
Jess Hooker
No, that I. Okay, I've done. This has been a thing. But I have. I have decided that I have to. I have to say no the first time he asked. The first time my husband goes, is something wrong? I go, no, because I would like to work through this on my own.
Josh Arnold
Would you ever say that?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I do say that.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Christy Lee
I love.
Jess Hooker
I say that.
Josh Arnold
I love that I said.
Jess Hooker
But please ask in a couple of hours.
Josh Arnold
Oh, Jess, that's amazing.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Really is.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Because I. Because I'm. Because I. I find the dumbest things to complain about sometimes. And so now in therapy, I'm learning, like, hey, this is a you problem. It's not a him problem. You gotta, like, give some effort.
Chick McGee
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Before you attack him and rip his head off.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but I. I don't. It's not just the serious stuff, Josh.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
It's the minor stuff.
Christy Lee
Yep.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I've got to get up at 3 in the morning.
Josh Arnold
It's.
Bob Kevoian
It's 10:30. Good night. What? Wallpaper.
Christy Lee
See, I'm guilty of this.
Bob Kevoian
We have wallpaper in Hart's room.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Christy Lee
Do you know what? Do you think we should get that Shaker Garage door. Do you think we should get. Yeah, I'm guilty of doing that.
Bob Kevoian
Well, stop it. Okay. Sorry.
Josh Arnold
How universal is this? Do women know that if you.
Christy Lee
We know everything. What are you talking about?
Josh Arnold
If you give a. You finish a bowl of cereal and then you give it a rinse under the faucet, you don't need a chisel and a hammer nine hours later to clean that bowl.
Jess Hooker
I know. My kids don't know that.
Christy Lee
The rinse and put it right in the dish.
Bob Kevoian
Did you know that the outside of the space shuttle is made from a cereal that has been left in the bowl overnight? Yes. And you can come back from space and it won't burn. Turn off. That's right. That problem now.
Tom Griswold
Well, and you want kids, Josh.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Wait until you try to put one of them to sleep at night and just. You've spent just 14 hours with them.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
You're tucking them in and then they. They go, hey, how come you and Mommy aren't together anymore? You're like, oh, yeah, this is the time to tackle that.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Or they'll be like, is there a God? You're like, yeah. At 9:30 at night on Tuesday. Yeah. That's when we should be having this conversation.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
When they ask about, why aren't you and Mommy together anymore? That's when you go to don't me to tell you why puppies die.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Christy Lee
Oh, jeez.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, so now we also learned about purple shampoo.
Jess Hooker
Purple shampoo. Yes.
Christy Lee
Do you remember what.
Jess Hooker
That's for you.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
If you get your hair dyed.
Christy Lee
Takes the brassiness out.
Bob Kevoian
You're supposed to do that afterward.
Jess Hooker
Yes. You do that. Like if you have maintenance.
Bob Kevoian
Got this. Got this from longtime listener Andrew.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Air Force veterans. Veteran. If you caught the crabs, the prescription was, quote, blue shampoo. Oh, so that must be quell.
Jess Hooker
Well, that's what I. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Was that blue?
Christy Lee
I don't know.
Jess Hooker
I think it was blue. Blue. It wasn't purple.
Bob Kevoian
It was just blue. Okay. Blue, blue shampoo. Thank you very much. We also learned that Zachary Taylor, President.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Died a few days after July 4th. And I jokingly said he died from eating a mayonnaise sandwich at a July 4th celebration. Celebration so Millard Fillmore could become president. I was kidding. Got this letter from. Got this letter from Amanda. Youngstown, Ohio. Actually, Zachary Taylor did die of an intestinal ailment. The food that got him wasn't mayonnaise. He was being served cherries and cream at a Fourth of July celebration.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Which was not refrigerated in the 1850s. He spent the day throwing back cherries and drinking milk that had been sitting in the hot July sun. Essentially, his day went like this. Eat a lot of cherries. Drink a lot of questionable milk. Have terrible diarrhea. Die.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you, Amanda. Thank you for.
Christy Lee
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
Good to know.
Christy Lee
Okay. Happy summer.
Bob Kevoian
All right, so now we can move on from there with Christy Lee. Back at the news Desk.
Josh Arnold
Quite a jubilee cherry.
Christy Lee
A talker research survey discovered how much time Americans spend watching oddly satisfying social media videos. Videos.
Josh Arnold
Do you have any, Christy?
Christy Lee
Yeah, I do.
Josh Arnold
What are yours?
Christy Lee
I love. I love watching this bee collector lady down in Florida. She goes and collects these huge hives of bees. And I also. I'm a sucker for all animal videos. You know, any kind of animal I'm comforted by.
Josh Arnold
There's a guy I love, his name is S.B. mowing.
Jess Hooker
Yep. Yes.
Christy Lee
I watch that guy and he's.
Josh Arnold
It's very satisfying to watch it. Well, he's also doing it. He's doing great charity.
Christy Lee
Right. He'll go to a home that's been. Obviously an elderly person lives there and cannot keep up their yard and he'll do the whole yard for free.
Josh Arnold
And it's. You just watch him go. And it's. Since it's sped up.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, it's a time lapse.
Josh Arnold
He also does some power washing.
Tom Griswold
Oh, the power washing is very good.
Josh Arnold
And there's a guy who power washes rugs.
Tom Griswold
Oh, the rug washing.
Josh Arnold
It's like he pulled him out of the bottom of a lake.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And he gets these things pristine. It's cool.
Tom Griswold
So that's fun to watch. Sober too.
Josh Arnold
Yes, man.
Bob Kevoian
So wait a minute. So instead of going out and cleaning your porch, you watch someone do it?
Josh Arnold
Well, mine doesn't need cleaning, so I. Yeah, yeah. You just. It's really comforting.
Bob Kevoian
I don't do any of this stuff.
Christy Lee
Two thirds admit to watching this sub genre of social media spending 30 minutes a day or 156 hours a year consuming the content.
Josh Arnold
Boy, I don't do that.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe you could find one for me because I don't do any. I'd like to watch one where ex jocks with their hats on backwards get hit by trains, brains and die. Do they have a category for that we're talking about?
Josh Arnold
I can see why you would be satisfied.
Tom Griswold
You want to go on Twitter. That's where you find that.
Christy Lee
Pimple popping videos ranked the most sought after content.
Bob Kevoian
It's unbelievable.
Josh Arnold
No thanks for me.
Bob Kevoian
Are these real people getting zits or.
Tom Griswold
They're popular. Yeah. Boils, Lance.
Josh Arnold
The only time I see them is when it's by accident and I go, oh, geez.
Christy Lee
But I know these in my timeline now because we're talking about this. I'm gonna be.
Josh Arnold
So will your daughters watch those?
Christy Lee
No, they don't care for this.
Jess Hooker
It' these.
Josh Arnold
Everybody I know who likes them. Girls.
Bob Kevoian
Are these on their face?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. On their back.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
They can be anywhere.
Josh Arnold
Shoulders.
Christy Lee
There's Dr. Pimple Popper. That's a TV show.
Bob Kevoian
I'm. I'm not gonna watch it. Are they. I mean are they holding their phone and then they're up close you see a one handed zit squeeze.
Tom Griswold
It's brutal.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. I've. I've. I can't finish one. I won't.
Josh Arnold
No, I don't like them at all. Yeah but I know.
Bob Kevoian
Are they sponsored?
Jess Hooker
Maybe some of them. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Like a custard commercial.
Jess Hooker
I thought he was going to say skincare.
Josh Arnold
I can't believe it's not butter.
Bob Kevoian
I do like the ones. I will say this. I. I watch the news usually on ABC on Sunday night and where we live. It's immediately followed by America's Funniest Videos. Yeah. And that show. That show was so. I like the host. It's the joke show. Are so. They're so corny. He's. He's got a really fun delivery.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What's is it Alfonso?
Josh Arnold
Don't watch Ruby Era or Riviera.
Bob Kevoian
It's. I find the guy really good and anyway that show I. That does crack me up. Especially the dog stuff.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
And the ones where guys just get racked in the nuts. I know Heywood. Heywood has that song about. About that that I. Well those are funny.
Josh Arnold
Slightly different in that.
Christy Lee
Different.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Comforting.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Christy Lee
The other one I get stuck. This is gonna. I'm sounds so I get a lot of videos these days of people taking like jewelers making things.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Christy Lee
That is so fascinating to watch.
Bob Kevoian
Chick got me watching that show in England where they can fix those. They'll take people bring in an ancient cuckoo clock.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And they put it together.
Josh Arnold
It is a good show.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I do like that.
Josh Arnold
You know what video I. I would watch? What A series of a person who's just had pita chips and hummus and the video is them smoothing out the hummus with the last pita chip. Evening it out.
Bob Kevoian
I did. Wait a minute.
Josh Arnold
That would be satisfying.
Jess Hooker
That would be.
Tom Griswold
There is a genre, there's a word opposite of people breaking into like a new thing of peanut butter.
Josh Arnold
Oh I love that.
Tom Griswold
Like there's a whole genre.
Bob Kevoian
So that's kind of a hyman.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Food hymen thing. I had to when I.
Tom Griswold
That's what it's called.
Bob Kevoian
When I saw this article I had to look up a word because one because I honesty I had never heard of this.
Christy Lee
We haven't even gotten to the second most.
Bob Kevoian
The word was condescension which I didn't understand what that Meant. No, the word. And it's pronounced mooc. Bong.
Christy Lee
Bongs.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
It's actually pronounced muk. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Is it mukbang?
Tom Griswold
Mukbang.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The pronouncer here is M, O, O, K. Oh, okay.
Josh Arnold
I've always heard muk. The people who do it, I've heard say muk.
Bob Kevoian
It's spelled M, U, K, B, A, N, G. I'd never heard of it.
Josh Arnold
I take a huge bowl of ramen and I just stuff my face.
Jess Hooker
Really?
Bob Kevoian
It says it's that Korean eating.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, it says the word comes from the Korean meaning eating and broadcast put together.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yes. This is. I've seen a lot of Asian women,
Bob Kevoian
and they make live streams. Reviewers chat with host while they eat dinner.
Christy Lee
I might do this.
Bob Kevoian
So it says the host tells stories, answers question, discusses current events while eating.
Josh Arnold
And I would say maybe 5%. It's a sexual thing. The rest, they just like watching somebody satisfy themselves with these big meals.
Jess Hooker
So I know in Asian culture, the louder you eat, and that's exactly how compliment it is. Right.
Josh Arnold
A ton of slurping of noodles.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I love this. I should go over there.
Jeff Oskay
Should.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Oh, if you slurp your noodles. Yeah, you're. Yeah, you're.
Bob Kevoian
That's good.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Jess Hooker
It's a compliment to the chef. Really.
Bob Kevoian
My old college roommate wrote me a note not too long ago. He was in New York, and he was at a really nice restaurant. He'd always wanted to go to this really famous, famous restaurant. Anyway, so he's in there. And he sent me a photograph. The woman at the next table sat down by her herself and set up a little tripod.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Christy Lee
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And videotaped herself eating, of course. Yeah, I. I thought that was a
Josh Arnold
little weird, but, yeah, I. I'm not into mukbang or.
Bob Kevoian
Now, Christie will remember this. We used to do our show from a beautiful hotel at Disney World, the Swan.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And we'd been doing it at more or less the same time every year at the same hotel, and it's still there. It's a wonderful hotel. There's the Swan and the Dolphin.
Christy Lee
We were usually at the Dolphin, but
Bob Kevoian
whenever we were there. Am I correct in saying it was always full of young Asian couples? And eventually I couldn't stand it any longer. I went to one of the men. I said, well, what's going on here?
Josh Arnold
Interesting way to put that.
Bob Kevoian
No, it was just. But I mean, every year, curiosity got
Josh Arnold
the best of you.
Bob Kevoian
It was the same thing. And it turned out that it was a. It was not Tokyo, but it was some major Japanese city. And they had a special thing, honeymoon. They were all honeymooners.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
So you, you'd get married and you'd go to Disney World. And. But, so, but, and this was in the 90s.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And what was striking me as funny was, I mean, I know it sounds like a, everybody had, everybody had cameras, but it was the first time I'd ever seen anybody take pictures of their food.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
Everyone was taking photographs of their food, which I thought, oh, that's really stupid. Now I do it all the time.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So I'll send my, my son, who's a really good cook. I'll say, hey, look at this. Yeah, I'll take pictures of it.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So. But that was, that was always 90s.
Jess Hooker
No. Yeah. If I saw someone take a picture of their food in the 90s, like, what? What?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. But now, I mean it's, hey, cool. But I, but I was just surprised the woman at a really nice restaurant would set up a little tripod. And not self consciously, there's a couple
Jess Hooker
of foodie people that I follow and they'll say like, hey, we're gonna spend a thousand dollars at this restaurant tonight and they will video the whole thing. But they will make $5,000 on the post.
Tom Griswold
Right, right. It's the investment probably way more than that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah. And it's, it's, yeah. So it's like. Well, yeah, so they get to just go as hard as they can.
Bob Kevoian
But are they eating in a normal fashion or are they shoving it down there?
Jess Hooker
No, they're ordering like really insane menu items that are, you know, hundreds of.
Josh Arnold
Those aren't the mukbang.
Bob Kevoian
Those are the.
Jess Hooker
They're not. It's just them tasting these menu items that are, that are, you know.
Bob Kevoian
I see. Okay, well, now it's time for us to move forward here. Christy Lee.
Christy Lee
Yes, sir.
Bob Kevoian
You're going to be taking a little vacation. AK and I know you're going to be driving your car that you love so much.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Taking the hybrid on the road. Yeah. The Tucson Hybrid is going to go all the longest trip she's ever taken. But you could be in a new Hyundai for your vacation because they're doing the getaway sales event going on right now with great deals on their most popular models, including adventure ready SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe or Santa Fe Hybrid. A little bit more off roadish. But then of course there's the very plush, very cool, comfortable Tucson. Tucson Hybrid. And don't forget the Elantra Bold, stylish, and loaded with the latest technology. If you're on all electric mode, then check out the Ionic 5 or Ionic 9, all from Hyundai. Your local Hyundai dealer has all of the details. Get away with a deal you're gonna love during the Hyundai Getaway sales event. You can also visit HyundaiUSA.com for more details.
Bob Kevoian
A song. Don't forget the Elantra for anybody else but me. Wait a minute. That doesn't make sense. We're gonna come back. We've got more exciting stuff going on. We certainly appreciate your indulging us and send us your. What kind of videos do you think you like to sit there and watch?
Christy Lee
I watch home remodeling. A lot.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, a lot. Yeah, we know. Thing about those shows.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
They never tell you how long it takes. Yeah.
Christy Lee
And how much it costs.
Bob Kevoian
Like there's that, that show where they fix up cars. Yeah, they show. Yeah, we, we, we bought the car for 15 in. We put in $700 worth of parts. They don't tell you that the expert mechanics. Those guys aren't working for free, but we are. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jeff Oskay
Got a comment?
Chick McGee

Jeff Oskay
Text us at 888-262-8661. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Bob Kevoian
I meant Trey and the boys.
Tom Griswold
Oh, hey.
Josh Arnold
It's the Bob and Tom show live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Happy weekend to you out there. If you're not listening during, you know, if you're listening on a different day.
Christy Lee
Yeah, get over it.
Josh Arnold
You can adjust. Your brain is better than. There's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hi.
Josh Arnold
Jess Hooker's there.
Christy Lee
Hi.
Josh Arnold
Jeff Oskay's at the NHTSA sports desk.
Tom Griswold
Good luck at your fishing tournament this week.
Josh Arnold
Thank you. There's Ace Cosby. I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
You got another fishing tournament?
Josh Arnold
Oh, I got fishing tournaments left and right. They're asking me to join Bassmasters, the major league fishing. I'm asking for more money.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Holding out?
Bob Kevoian
No, it was, it was Ass Masters. Christie, are you really in another fishing tournament?
Josh Arnold
I am in a fishing tournament tomorrow. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Josh Arnold
The Ohio River.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, cool.
Jess Hooker
Is it alone or do you have a partner?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I'm sort of co. Angling. Meaning I'm not going to be working the trolling motor. I'll be in the back of the boat. But I'm still fishing the whole time.
Jess Hooker
So there's a team when you do this?
Josh Arnold
Oftentimes, yes.
Jess Hooker
How many.
Josh Arnold
How many teams?
Jess Hooker
No. How many in a.
Christy Lee
Two.
Josh Arnold
Usually two.
Jess Hooker
Oh, just two.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
What are you fishing for?
Josh Arnold
Largemouth. And I think smallmouth is also involved in this one.
Christy Lee
Cool.
Josh Arnold
But being the Ohio River, I don't know.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. You may find a corpse.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
If the Ohio river whitefish, also known as a used condom, floating down from. Cincinnati. Cincinnati. Okay. Well, it's time to check in to see what's going on at the news desk. Christy.
Christy Lee
Well, I only have time for one more story. I'm gonna leave these for Jess for Monday that you gave her. But I get. I got this just handed to me. NASA is searching for four volunteers who are willing to spend a year in a simulated space habitat.
Josh Arnold
Me, me, me.
Christy Lee
They're going to recruit participants for their next simulated deep space mission. Working in the. And living under isolated conditions at the Johnson Space center in Houston. The space environments will stimulate or stimulate. It'll stimulate you. All right. Will simulate both the moon and Mars mimicking conditions that astronauts are expected to experience on those missions.
Bob Kevoian
Do they have to stay in it 24 7?
Christy Lee
There will be. Yes, there will be two isolated habitats. A spacecraft and a base facility with a workspace living area and sleeping quarters.
Tom Griswold
Can you. Does it say. Can you have contact, like with your family? Family?
Christy Lee
It says participants must meet specific physical and educational requirements.
Josh Arnold
Jeff. It says you don't have to sign me up twice.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Christy Lee
Yeah, I don't think you. It doesn't say anything about reaching out to your family. The participants must meet specific physical and education requirements, a multi day selection process. And pass the space agency's physical and psychological assessments.
Josh Arnold
That's the main thing.
Bob Kevoian
Do you get paid? Is it like a job?
Christy Lee
I would think they would pay you. You've got to be off work for a year. It's like a job.
Tom Griswold
Tom let me off work for a year.
Bob Kevoian
I couldn't do it for a weekend.
Christy Lee
Oh, we know that.
Jess Hooker
Why? Which part freaks you out?
Bob Kevoian
Let's see.
Christy Lee
Not being able to go outside.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Not being able to grab my phone calls.
Jess Hooker
Go.
Bob Kevoian
Be outside. Urinate outside. Unless I could go urinate on my. Ours. No. I would hate that.
Jess Hooker
I would.
Christy Lee
We.
Jess Hooker
I would be worried about the three other people. I feel like I could do it if I were alone.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. That's why I quit playing golf.
Josh Arnold
You don't know. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. I got three douchebags I gotta talk to for two hours and they feel the same way about me.
Josh Arnold
Hey, he played golf the other day with you, me and Hoffy.
Bob Kevoian
Can I get doordash I mean, it'd be awful.
Christy Lee
Yeah. You would not do well. I don't think this is for you.
Josh Arnold
I saw a doordash boat the other day on the lake. I was like, there you go.
Christy Lee
Are you kidding?
Josh Arnold
It was awesome. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
For real?
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Christy Lee
I guess in the Ozarks that would make sense.
Josh Arnold
Do it. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That is so fun.
Jess Hooker
Do you guys have a hot dog boat?
Josh Arnold
We don't like ice cream. Yeah, there was. I have seen the ice cream boat. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Any one of those would be a good premise for a pretty funny television show.
Josh Arnold
That would be. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The kid that runs the doordash boat.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Like one of my old favorite shows. Hank. Or he. Remember that one? He has to bluff his way into college. Oh. It's a classic. And then it ends in real life with a murder. It's kind of. Kind of depressing. Thank you so much for joining us. Please send us your emails. Bob and tom@bobandtom.com Tell us what video things you like to watch. I just found out that Christopher likes to watch planes take off and land. He can do it for hours.
Christy Lee
Oh, that's cool.
Bob Kevoian
There's a whole video thing with that. That's great. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom show.
Jeff Oskay

Podcast: The BOB & TOM Show Free Podcast
Date: July 10, 2026
Theme: Weekend kick-off with comedy, odd news stories, unique listener letters, generational humor, and a "men vs. women" knowledge quiz.
This episode delivers the full BOB & TOM experience—a mix of musical comedy, running gags, fresh news, and lively debates among the rotating cast. The show spotlights peculiar news items (naked fire-fighting, porta potty disasters, and a parade of record-breaking nonagenarians), sharp listener correspondence, and the ever-popular deep dives into daily life “problems.” Highlights include a playful men-vs-women pop quiz, generational observations on technology, and health news with the group’s reliably irreverent stamp.
Bob Kevoian (on vault toilets):
“If you drop something into these so-called vault toilets... how valuable does it have to be before you climb down?” (09:06)
Chick McGee (on nude fire fighting):
“You wake up and someone says, hey, the house next door’s on fire. You just rush to do what you gotta do...” (04:54)
Tom Griswold (on French fries): “I like a crinkle. I’ve been on the crinkle lately.” (10:30)
Listener DJ Letter (on wedding music):
"The Hokey Pokey is dead. Right up there with the chicken dance." (24:00)
Josh Arnold (on CB radio days):
“We’d be like, oh, can I get a smoky report? And they’d be like, oh, yeah. Mile marker 110. Watch out for them.” (61:31)
Bob Kevoian (on pimple videos):
“Are they sponsored? Like, you know, custard commercials?” (151:13)
True to the show's style, the episode stays playful, cheeky, and conversational. Banter jumps between serious news and off-the-rails improvisation. Regulars poke fun at themselves and one another, weaving in listener letters and feedback as part of the collective voice.
This jam-packed episode combines classic Bob & Tom energy with topical absurdity—a naked hero story, seniors making headlines, fast-food debates, and a delightful “what only women know” pop quiz. The results are both topical and timeless, inviting listeners to laugh at life’s oddities, reflect on generational shifts, and always “watch where you drop your sunglasses."
