A
That's right, gals. It is the Bob and Tom Show. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. To my right, it's Jess Hooker at the news desk.
B
Hi, Joshy.
A
Great to see you. There's Jeff Oskay across the way at the NHTSA sports desk.
D
Oh, I'm going through it. All right.
C
What's that? Male menopause.
D
The news.
C
Oh, okay.
A
You might be. You're a little too young to have manipause, I think. Are you experiencing. Are you, Perry? Menopause?
D
I. I have a little.
A
What's her name?
D
Every month.
A
Oh, sure. Yeah. There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
C
Yeah, again, by the way. Vacation tampon shopper shopping, fellas. That's a thing.
A
Vacation tampon shopping.
C
Yeah, you don't want to be doing that, really, especially if you're in the Bahamas.
A
Oh, you had trouble finding some in the Bahamas.
D
It's way better with FaceTime now as you just FaceTime them and you run them down the aisle and you're like, which one do I get? And they're like, oh, yeah, the one in the pink and the black.
C
Where I was in the Bahamas, the one you get is the closest to a sack of cotton.
A
They are absorbent, though.
C
Yeah. It is not exactly. Frankly, it was a small island.
A
Rough but absorbed. Yeah.
C
But I think it's the recreational activities that are put off due to the arrival. Yeah. Depending that happens, I'll be get some mail about this. Now, I want to say a special thank you to truck driver Tyler, driving a truck in West Virginia. Charleston, West Virginia. Beautiful spot. He requested that. Classic. And Tyler, be careful out there. Hope you have a great day on the road. Now, we have a million things coming up. Interestingly enough, Ms. Hooker, who, by the way, today you look very girly.
B
That's not what he said off the air. Less dyke is what he said off the air.
C
Well, contextually, I think I did. But I have to add, no, you look really cute and girly today.
B
Thanks. I'm not really a girly girl.
C
That's the thing. That's the thing.
B
Yeah, I understand.
C
I mean, I.
A
Is it because it's pink.
D
Yeah.
C
No, it's because her hair.
B
Her hair's wavy, too.
C
Looks really good.
B
Okay.
C
And she's got a little makeup on it. I. I know. I put it this way. I know. I know a couple of women that couldn't tell a screwdriver from a pair of pliers.
B
Sure.
C
The. Just, you know, the basics.
B
No, we. We had this conversation over the weekend, actually, my husband and I, that I know a lot of things that a lot of girls might not know, being raised by a single dad and then working here. So it kind of lends itself to not be a girly girl.
C
And the reason I bring it up so early is that you had a quiz which we took on Friday.
B
Yeah.
C
And I. I recreated that with my wife and my daughters over the weekend.
B
Yeah.
C
And it was quite interesting. The essence of it was what?
B
Now, these are things that all women should know that men probably don't. Yes.
C
For example, they all knew this one. Purple shampoo.
B
They knew what purple shampoo was.
C
I did not know what that was.
B
Yes.
C
You want to explain what it is again?
B
It is. It's when you have your hair dyed or bleached, it tends to get brassy. And this keeps the brassiness away.
C
And there's all kinds of brands, apparently, of this purple shampoo.
B
Yes.
C
I've got a quick letter here.
B
Okay.
C
This is from Scott. Heard the part on Friday, just as poll for men that included purple shampoo. I have had silver hair for over a decade. My hairstylist suggested purple shampoo for the summertime because I'm in the pool a lot.
B
Oh, okay.
C
The chlorine in the pool gives my hair a greenish tint. Ah. The purple shampoo keeps me the silver fox I am meant to be. Thank you, Scott in Bel Air, Maryland. All right.
B
Good to know.
C
Yeah. I have not. I'm not. I was not aware of purple shampoo.
B
Yes.
C
Some of the other things. One of them was, and I think Oscar got this one. It was lbd. What does LBD mean?
D
A little black dress.
B
There you go.
C
That's a standard thing that every lady knows, but guys tend not to.
B
Yes.
C
And we have a lot of letters about this. It's a fun quiz. I wouldn't mind revisiting.
B
Okay.
A
Yeah.
C
More of it.
B
Sure.
C
I think we each got two. Am I correct?
B
Yes. Yeah. You did pretty good.
D
Yeah.
C
Yeah. So one of our listeners has created one for the ladies that. I think you'll be pretty good at it, though.
B
Okay.
C
Because you are not, as you said earlier or I said, but you echoed. That is an insult to say you're not really a girly girl.
B
No, not at all. I don't. I don't take it as that.
D
Well, and there's men who aren't manly men. Like, they. I know. As a young child, nothing was worse than when my dad told me to go grab a wrench or pliers.
B
Yeah.
D
Like, he'd be like, grab a wrench. And I would get over to the workbench. I'd be like, is this a wrench or is this pliers?
B
Yeah.
D
And of course it would be pliers. And I would bring it back. He'd be like, this isn't a wrench.
C
Oh.
D
I had all these choices, and I picked the wrong.
B
You always grab both. Yeah.
D
Oh, there you go. This kid was dumb.
C
I took one at a time, and we had the. The revelatory notion that when you get a screwdriver, they do make a screwdriver. That the shaft pulls out.
A
Yes.
C
And you can flip it around.
A
Best invention.
C
So when you are up on the ladder and you. You need a Phillips and you've got a flathead. Now you can switch it around. Of course, odds are today you're going to get one of those weird star things. I was just buying some. I was just buying a. What it would not a carrier, a cover, or not even the thing. The frame for a license plate. Yeah, you know, that thing. And I was buying one, and they have. They have special bolts. You can get that. You need a special tool to get off.
D
Right. So people can't steal your license plate.
C
Is that a common thing? People stealing license plates?
D
I've actually had mine stolen. And I was stopped at a DUI checkpoint when I figured that out and had my car impounded for driving on a stolen plate. Someone switched my plate with their.
C
Wow.
A
Yeah.
C
What a dick move.
D
And I had no idea until they came back. Like, I'm at a DUI checkpoint, and they go, how come your license plate doesn't match your registration? I go, I have no idea. And they're like, what's your license plate number? I'm like, I have no idea. They're like, you didn't notice someone swapped it out? And I'm like, no, I don't know what my license plate number is.
A
I think you go out and look
C
at your car and go, oh, wrong one.
B
Yeah. No kidding, right?
D
Yeah.
C
I'd like to congratulate myself for getting in the wrong car again last Thursday.
D
You're gonna get shot. I'm not joking.
C
There are too many White cars like mine. Yeah, it's everybody else's fault. I should get a different car. It was the same manufacturer, more or less.
A
We're going to spray paint your name on the hood.
D
More or less. You mean it was European?
C
It was a. It was a. It was a. One notch down.
D
Oh. But the same brand.
C
Yeah. One of those. One of those cars. They'll have the three, the four, the seven. Okay, I have a seven. It was a. It was a five.
D
How long were you.
C
Which I noticed on the way out. Well, I got in the car, sat down, and went, that's interesting. That's not my stuff.
A
Geez. Got in the car.
C
Well, this guy's stupid enough to leave it open.
A
Yep.
D
Yeah,
C
but I certainly don't go over to my car and go at my plate.
A
No way.
C
So do you have those special tool screws on your.
D
Yeah, I do, actually.
A
I had a guy. I had a buddy who got pulled over, and the cop goes, do you know your tail lights are out? And he goes, no, officer. I drive on the inside of my car.
C
I hope he got the biggest fine ever.
A
He was ticking.
C
And well deserved. Coming up, a little bit of a quiz about manly things and lady things.
A
Yeah. I've got about six, seven, eight questions for you.
C
But again, you're not the perfect test case.
A
No, honestly, Christie isn't either. Because as I was writing these, I was like, oh, these two have been around dudes so much.
C
Yeah. I know you hate the phrase testosterone poisoning, but I've never heard that phrase. Oh, really?
A
I've heard toxic masculinity.
C
Oh, that's. That's the one you hate.
A
I do hate that. Yeah. Not a thing.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But you.
A
But people are either jerks or they're not. It has nothing to do with.
C
But, yeah. You have been swimming in a pool of testosterone in this building.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
C
Although in some cases, lesser amounts of testosterone because we got a couple girly boys here.
B
Oh, for sure.
C
Let's face it.
B
For sure. Yeah.
D
He looked right at me when I said that.
C
I'm not saying that your beard is compensating for.
D
It's coming off this week. I'm taking it down. I'm over it. It's on my nerves.
A
Like, off off?
D
No, like, down to your level.
A
Oh, okay.
C
Yeah.
B
Okay.
C
Do you want me to get.
A
Nope.
D
I'll take care of it.
C
Just calm down.
D
Oh, sorry, sir.
C
You know, Eddie's wife is an excellent barber.
D
Yeah, she made me look beautiful before. Yeah.
C
Do you want me to bring her in? No, she'd probably. Probably enjoy it. She's quite the girly girl.
D
Yeah.
C
She'd be good to take the quiz.
B
You think so?
A
I think she knows her way around, too.
B
No way.
A
A toolbox.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
C
She's got a couple good stories. She's a hairstyle. She's got a couple great stories.
B
She's got a lot of great stories. Yeah.
C
My favorite's the one that there'd been a rumor that there was a man coming around getting haircuts and that he was, you know, whacking it underneath the thing.
B
Yeah.
C
And she's cutting some guy's hair. She sees this motion down there. Turned out the guy was cleaning his glasses with his shirt tail.
A
Yeah, I've used that one, too. I don't even need glasses. That's why I wear them.
C
Yeah, I actually.
D
They're still on your face.
C
I actually have a friend that has been going to the same hairstylist, primarily because of the large boobs that she sort of shoves.
B
Yeah.
C
So these are a lot of great topics coming up today. Now, thanks for joining us. I wanted to mention that our sports desk is now the NITSA Sports desk. This is all about the importance of driving the correct speed. A sharp turn could take you by surprise. If you're going too fast, causing you to veer off the road. NHTSA would like to remind you another car could turn in front of you, leading to a fender bender. Or worse, a truck could break, suddenly injuring you and the other driver. A cyclist could enter the road ahead, and the impact could send them to the hospital. And you got to watch out for motorcycles out there. Be very careful, please, for those great folks on bikes, they are very vulnerable. This is why you want to watch that speed limit. You may not think any of these things could happen to you, but you're not going to see them coming until they happen. Nitzo wants to remind you of all of these things. When you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. When you're speeding, it just takes an instant for disaster to strike. We've all seen it. The speed limit isn't just there to protect you. It's to protect your fellow passengers and the other folks using the road. So Nitze says, please slow down. Obey the law. Keep everyone around you safe. Speeding catches up with you. Paid for by nhtsa. Thank you very much. NHTSA will be visiting the NHTSA sports desk with Jeff Oskay sitting in for Chick Magee. Chick, a little under the weather and Pat Godwin, also under the weather. So the fearsome foursome, plus one, that would be aces or plus one, will be attacking the news and sports today for you. If you have anything you want to tell us, by all means, Bob and tomobandtom.com is how you find us here in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. And this is, of course, the Bob and Tom Show. This episode is brought to you by Google Chrome. You think you know a browser, but Gemini and Chrome, that's new. It can help you with practically anything on the web, like restoring a vintage motorcycle from a 50 page restoration block
A
or finally break down that long article
C
you've had open for weeks. Gemini and Chrome is here for it, ready to make anything online make sense. There's no place like Chrome. Check responses.
B
Setup required.
A
Compatibility and availability varies.
C
18 plus.
A
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom Show. Thank you very much for being here with us. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker's at the news desk.
B
Hello.
A
There's Jeff Oscar at the Nitza sports desk.
D
Yes, sir.
A
Ace Cosby across the way. Hey, I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom Griswold.
C
Thank you very much. A lot of topics to hit today. We were just talking about tools, screwdrivers and manly things. There, of course, many women who are far more talented than any of us using tools. So this is just kind of a dangerous territory. But we do have a quiz on manly things and womanly things and ladylike things. It's kind of, it's kind of fun. But that got, we got off track, thanks to me and discussion about license plates. And we found out that Mr. Oscar's license plate had been swapped by.
A
Yeah.
C
You got pulled over and cuffed.
D
Yeah, well, I was at a DUI checkpoint and they were like at 2 in the morning, they're like, how come your license plate doesn't match your registration? I'm like, I'm like, I don't know.
C
So somebody swapped it on you?
A
Yeah, I had my tags cut off one time. They actually must, they took some tool and cut the corner of my license.
B
Whoa.
A
Front and back. Because in Missouri you needed front and back plates just to take the tags. And I didn't know that until my apartment complex tried to fine me for not having tags in their parking lot.
C
That's the thing. It's not something you check on.
B
No.
C
I had driven all the way to North Carolina. We were checking into the hotel and the bellman goes, you realize your license plate's been expired for more than a year. What?
A
Well, now that is something you kind of check.
C
I thought the D had handled that for me.
D
Who?
C
The lady that worked for me.
D
Oh, oh, oh.
C
It was pre. Amy. Yes, her predecessor. So the license plate thing is kind of fascinating. I. I just can't. I mean, do you, do you know your current plate?
D
I know a couple letters.
C
That's help.
D
I don't know the whole thing.
B
Yeah, I know the TK at the front. That's all I know. But it's because it's a truck. See?
C
And I now photograph everything. I take picture. I have a picture of my license plate. I have a picture of my car insurance. Oh, yeah, because I was running a car. Also in Georgia. I was running a car. And the guy goes, do you have proof of insurance? What? And so I learned my lesson there. I never had that. I've rented cars a hundred times. I never had them demand proof of insurance. So now I've got a picture of my insurance thing. I've got a picture of my driver's license. But Kelly, my wife, went to that giant gigantic liquor store. Total wine.
B
Yeah.
C
Because she was. She was having a party. Yeah, a girly party.
B
Sure.
C
So she was buying a bunch of weird wine, whatever the hell it was. I was. I wasn't with her. And she got to check out. And she's a woman. She's. I mean, she's clearly over 21.
B
Right.
C
But she'd forgotten. She'd forgotten that she'd lost her driver's license. Nope.
B
No, they won't sell it to you.
C
I mean, there should be some kind of test. Can't you eyeball someone and go, well, certainly a very attractive woman in her possibly 30s, late 40s.
B
Yeah, they. Well, they send excise in looking like that for that reason. Yeah.
A
So I have a job to do. I get it.
C
Yeah. I. I got carded a few years ago buying a video game.
B
Yeah.
C
At Walmart. I couldn't. I couldn't believe it.
D
Yeah.
C
I do not look under 21 by anyone's measure.
A
In that case would have been even 18. Yeah.
C
Yeah, thanks.
A
That makes me feel.
C
That makes me feel even worse.
A
Worse? Isn't that sort of a cop? Be the guy who doesn't card the 35 year old woman at a liquor store. See how often you get screamed out.
B
That's true too.
C
My brother John used to work at Disney World and they. They had a friend. I met her. She was a. She was under 21, but looked 35.
B
Yeah.
C
And she was Hired by Disney. And she would go to all of the places that serve liquor.
B
Oh, wow.
C
And then. And then, of course, they told all the bartenders and waitresses and waiters, we have people doing this, so that's why they carted.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
C
So you're correct. But alas, what I. My question was going to be, I wonder if she had had a photograph of her driver's license on her phone, if they would have said, okay, you're cool if that's good enough. I know in some states, yeah, you
B
can keep it in your.
C
My card in some states. That's. That's enough.
A
Oh, really?
C
If you get pulled over. Not all of them, but. I mean, that makes sense. That's gonna. In the future.
A
It doesn't.
C
In the future, it's all gonna be that way. It doesn't make sense to you to be able to show your phone.
A
No way. Hope you. You show a physical id, a hard card. Yeah.
D
Why?
A
It's just how it should be. Why?
C
Because you're just a Luddite a little bit.
A
But that's not why. In this case, just you have you be a responsible adult and you carry a photo ID with you.
C
Well, if you got a photo, you could either. I don't know about your phone, Josh, but mine has pictures.
A
Well, so does my. My phone has an insurance app where I don't have to take a picture of my insurance card. So let's not go there. I.
C
Well, should we get to our letters?
B
Yeah, sure.
C
Okay. Who's got a good one?
D
I have a great one. You were. We had a story last week about the toilet vaults and people going in them to get things out. This is from Greg. My buddy has a septic pumping business. He got a call one day asking if he could empty a septic tank as a lady accidentally flushed her dentures down the toilet. He emptied it out, drove into their farm field to blow it out into the field, which is perfectly legal. And then he walked the area where he spread the poo and found the lady's dentures and returned them to her. And she asked him not to tell anyone that this had happen.
A
That's incredible.
C
How long would they have to sit in some kind of nuclear Chernobyl like. Well, I think the liquid to be pure enough and clean enough.
D
I think dentures are really expensive.
B
Very expensive.
A
Are they that expensive?
B
Yes, I know.
D
I mean, if you're poor, then yeah, there's a whole.
C
There's a whole thing on Reddit. There's a whole thread about what would you Keep. If it had fallen into the toilet.
A
Right.
B
Well, that's a. That's. That's a question you ask. They say when you are cleaning out your house or going through stuff and you want to get rid of things, if there was feces smeared all over this, would you keep it and wash it or would you just throw it away?
D
You know, that's.
A
That's a little different than the Marie Kondo. Does this bring me joy?
C
Is this covered in poop?
A
The average cost of full dentures ranges from 1,000 to 3,500 per arch. So custom can be.
C
Per arch. I mean, so it's 7,000 for a pair. If you've got.
A
That says full dentures. And then premium custom dentures can cost 2,500 to 6,000.
C
Do you remember the story we had?
D
And now she at least has a seating grin. Yeah.
C
Oh, nice. Nice save on that. We had the story about the.
A
What did it say?
C
The guy that was.
A
What did I say that ruined it so much that Jeff had to come in and save it. You really want to start the week this way, pal?
C
Remember this? The letter we got the guy. I think he was at a Denny's and it was an elderly couple and the woman ate her. Ate. Remember this? Ate her entire meal, then reached in her mouth and took her dentures out and passed them to the guy.
A
Man, that's hard to believe.
B
That's a sweet.
C
That's kind of a sweet couple.
A
They just don't fit that way. I have such doubts about that story, but I. It is. Comedically, it's wonderful.
C
We got our quiz coming up about ladylike things and other things. But let's see. I want to. Let me get this one over here.
A
I guess you can get your dentures insured, I would imagine. Oh, when you get them. Sure. Yeah, I would hope. Man, oh, man. Just for that problem, you bend over to whatever, grab some toilet paper, and your dentures fall into the toilet.
B
I wonder if she was throwing up.
A
Maybe. Oh, yeah, maybe.
C
Oh, sure.
D
Yeah.
A
That's probably the best.
B
Yeah.
C
Is that what you're supposed. When you. If you have them and you're puking, are you supposed to immediately yank them out?
D
I guess.
C
Time. Wow. Dear Bob and Tom show. This is from Derek. I've taken a few moments to throw together a quick man quiz.
A
Oh, good.
C
Okay. Ready?
D
Yeah.
C
Now, Ms. Hooker is here with us. She gave us the quiz of ladylike things that. What were one of the ones that we didn't know.
A
Do you remember the one that Oscar got right Away. And the rest of us had never heard of such a thing. Was a makeup blender.
B
A beauty blender.
A
Oh, sorry. See?
D
Yeah.
A
Beauty blender.
C
See, A beauty blender. I thought it was a device or something.
B
Yes.
A
Yeah.
C
It's not. It's a sponge.
B
Yeah, it is. It's a sponge to apply foundation.
C
But you'll be. You're too. You're, you know, too much guy stuff.
B
Well, we can.
D
Let's see.
C
Okay. Who is the Duke?
B
The Duke. Oh my gosh. It's not sports. It's music, right? No, neither sports.
D
Movies.
B
Movies. Oh, it's. It's the Cowboy.
C
It's the Cowboy.
B
Yeah. I don't know. I. I know it's the Cowboy.
C
Can you do an impression of him for.
A
Oh, well, hey, little lady. He can't, you know, I can't, but.
B
Sorry.
C
Anybody?
B
Is it John Wayne?
C
Yes.
A
She got it. Based on my impression.
C
You'll get this one. It's a type of tool. It's a ball peen hammer. Ball peen hammer.
A
I wrote a tool one. Okay, see if you know this. What's another name for a hex wrench? Some might say even a more common name. Are there any guys in here that don't know it?
D
I think I know it.
B
A hex wrench. Is that also what, an L. The L1.
A
And what would that be called?
B
I don't know.
C
That's a. That's an Allen wrench.
A
An Allen wrench, That's correct.
B
Sorry. Okay.
A
Oh, yeah. I would also have accepted hex or Allen key.
B
Allen key. Okay.
A
Some people call them that.
B
Gotcha.
C
Yes. I didn't know that's what that was called.
A
Oh, really?
C
Yeah. You know what a spanner is?
D
Yes.
A
Do you?
B
No. A spanner, that's just.
C
That's an English term.
B
No, I don't know.
C
Fair.
B
What is it though?
C
It's. It's like a wrench.
B
Oh, okay.
C
Like a set of spans.
D
The.
B
Oh, okay.
A
That's always why I assume they called it that.
D
I have one. Do you know what a board stretcher is?
C
Yes, I know what it is.
D
What?
C
A board stretcher is what you say to the moron that cuts a board without measuring it properly. And now the board's too short. So you say to the idiot, go get a board stretcher.
A
Yep.
D
And 45 minutes later, after going through the truck, the person came out and told me no such product exists.
A
Yeah, that's one of those first day
C
in the job bits.
A
Yeah, they'll often. It's sort of an initiation, almost Yep, that was me.
C
What type of products, Ms. Hooker, are made by Berkeley? Eagle Claw or Rapala Man?
A
I had a very similar question.
C
What type of.
D
Just think, Josh.
B
I know it's fishing. It has to be fishing, right?
C
Okay.
B
Yeah, but I've never heard of any of those.
A
Oh, yeah, all big.
B
Yeah, those are brands.
A
Yes.
B
Okay.
A
Yeah. Brands of fishing. Okay, now mine. Well, this is the same. My question was, if somebody is talking about mono, fluoro or braid, what are they referring to?
C
Well, that's a good question.
B
I have no idea.
C
It could be a disease.
A
Right, right.
B
I would say it's how you put the. The. The string on the fishing pole. The line.
A
It's. I'll give it to you. It's the line itself.
B
It's the line itself. Okay. Okay.
C
What is kbb? Now, you gave us. You gave us L, B, D, lbd, little black dress. Now, in return, you get kbb.
D
Now, Christy would know this.
A
I don't know this.
D
I think Christy would.
C
Christy would know him.
D
She would know.
A
Do you know this?
B
Car related.
C
Yeah.
B
Yeah. I don't know.
C
Kelly Blue Book.
A
Oh, sure.
B
Yeah.
C
Okay.
A
What does ERA stand for?
B
ERA It's a baseball term. Oh, Earned runs. Earned runs. Oh, man, I don't know what the last.
A
Go singular with run.
B
Earn.
A
Earn.
C
Run.
B
I don't know.
A
Oh, you get. That was pretty good. Average.
B
Average. Oh, earned run average.
C
Who.
A
What player has an era? What position?
B
Earned run average. I would think that was a batting position.
C
That would be. You had. You had nine choices. Actually, you really only had two.
B
There's a picture.
C
Yeah. What position physically hikes the football in the NFL?
B
Oh, the center.
C
Oh, very good.
A
I figured you and Christie would both get that.
C
Yeah. What is a hat trick in sports?
B
Three. Three. Three goals. Or. Or three. Yeah, right. Three goals.
C
And we looked up the origin of that. Do you remember Night, but I forgot.
D
Yeah.
A
It's British, and I think it started with, like, cricket or rugby or something. What? According to Lynyrd Skynyrd, what can you not do to this bird?
B
Oh, I'm guessing.
A
And this bird you cannot. What?
B
You cannot tame.
A
Incorrect.
B
Oh, what is it?
A
Chain.
B
Chain. Oh, I thought it was tame this whole time.
D
Well, I thought it was change.
A
It is.
B
It is.
C
Oh, I think this bird you cannot change.
A
Oh, sorry. I may have swallowed it. No, it's changed.
B
Anyone? Anyone.
C
But any one of those three would work and the song would stay the same.
B
Yeah. Oh, that's true.
A
Guys know that it's
C
name the big three automakers and I'll Give you a little bit of leeway on this one. This is the term. The big three is mid-50s. That's when that.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay, so Ford.
C
Yep.
B
Chrysler.
C
Now Stellantis. That's right. I'll take.
B
Okay. And
C
Oldsmobile. Buick. Chevrolet.
B
Oh, Chevrolet.
A
No, they're all General Motors.
B
Oh, General Motors. Oh, and that.
C
The big. That's kind of gone out of. Yeah, lots of everything.
A
What is Darth Vader's real name?
C
You think that's a guy question more
A
so than a girl question?
B
I've never watched any of these movies. So Darth Vader's real name is. Vader means father in German. I don't know.
D
I have no idea.
C
Is that true?
A
Yeah, it is true.
C
So then that's been a giveaway the whole time?
B
The whole time, yeah, immediately.
A
And they're right in front of everybody's face.
C
I had no idea. There's, by the way, a hilarious reference. I think the only great joke in Toy Story 5 is a star wars joke.
B
I'll have to. I'll have to look back. I must have.
A
I know I didn't. It's. I. It's. I don't think it's. It's not that great of a joke to most people.
C
I laughed out loud because I thought the movie was kind of slow.
B
I agree. Yeah.
A
What physical attribute.
D
What's the answer?
A
Anaka. Anakin Skywalker.
D
Oh, okay.
A
Anakin, what physical attribute is Alexis, Texas famous for?
B
I'm going to get Alexis, Texas.
D
Yeah.
C
Is that a man or a woman?
B
It's a woman.
A
You are gay.
C
I have never seen Alex. Alexis.
A
We've had her. We've had pictures of her on the show.
B
I'm gonna guess her breasts or her butt.
A
Well, that's.
C
I mean, you got the big two there. I doubt if there are any. Are there any porn stars?
B
Texas. I'm gonna go butt. Her butt's big.
A
That's correct.
B
Okay.
C
Yeah. I mean, are there any female porn stars noted for the size of their vaginal cavity?
A
You would think Christy Canyon would be.
C
Well, that's an unfortunate name. Really? You don't want to be saddled with that.
A
What movie ends with the line, hey, we're all going to get laid. Do you guys know this? I do not. Oh, come on. I'm not with men here.
B
Animal House.
A
Incorrect.
B
Okay, what is it?
A
Caddyshack.
B
Caddyshack.
C
Oh, God, I forgot that. Okay, well, we'll. We'll get some more of these.
A
Can I get real men in here?
C
Okay.
D
You want to chop down a Tree. You want to do some man stuff?
A
You've seen me do some man stuff.
D
Yeah, yeah, exactly. You want to do some real man stuff?
A
Do I need to remind you of what you said to me when we were working together doing man stuff?
B
This sounds like the gayest conversation.
A
We can't say it on the air.
C
How often did you say to Jeffrey, hey, that move reminded me of when I was in the choir in high school. Did I ever tell you about my band?
A
You know who, who never says when we were doing man stuff? Guys who were actually doing man stuff.
C
Yeah, the guy, the guy who climbs down from the wire that he's been rewiring after the power outage. Just grabs a cigarette and looks, Looks mean because he's just risked his life.
A
He didn't go. I just did. Mansa.
C
Oh, thank you very much. What's coming up in sports?
D
Oh, man, we got soccer stuff. We got ufc. We got a great world record with, with a famous musician. Our, Our boy Pitbull is setting world records.
C
I'm kind of glad to see that he's got a sense of humor about himself.
D
Yeah, he's, he's a. I think he's a pretty cool guy.
B
Me too.
D
Like what I can tell.
A
Yeah, he seems fun.
D
And someone got gored somewhere in
B
the
D
run into the bowl.
C
We got.
D
Oh, no.
A
You mean somewhere isn't on the body?
D
Yes, a special place.
C
Oh, now you're thinking. Knowing that you're thinking rectum.
B
Yeah. First.
C
Not this time.
D
No.
A
Was he turned around?
C
We'll find out. Also, we have a hilarious video of a guy getting flipped over by a bison in Yellowstone.
A
Oh, I, I, I'm for it.
C
I laughed out loud.
A
Yeah, you get too close to the bison.
C
This thing we have to. What's that music? If you play that to this and it's everywhere. If you just go, Yellowstone, bison, Flipper. You see this guy? Wait till you see the outfit. He's got this. B
Hello here all week, all week.
D
All right.
A
Christie's enjoying a much deserved vacation. There's Jeff Oskay across the way.
D
Hey, Josh.
A
Chick hates us so he's not here. There's Ace Cosby.
D
Hey, John.
A
I am Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
C
Thank you very much. We've been doing this, these back and forth quiz, quiz kind of men versus women, ladies versus gents.
A
Yeah. Who knows what about what sort of sex or gender. It's fun. And, and we all, we totally understand that that some women are going to get the Guy questions. And some guys are going to get the girl questions and.
C
Yeah, and we've established the fact that Even though today Ms. Hooker looks very girly girl. Which we approve of, you've done pretty well with the men's version. Here's another question submitted by Derek.
A
Good questions.
C
Derek, what is 10W40?
B
It's a lubricant.
C
There you go.
D
Excellent.
C
Very good.
A
Not for the bedroom.
B
Not for the bedroom. Usually for the.
A
Unless you're a cyborg.
B
Whatever you're into.
C
Well. Anybody remember?
D
Actually, not a lubricant. Well, it's the opposite of a lubricant.
A
Oh. It creates friction in order.
D
Well, I mean, if you put it on 40. Yeah. I mean, if you put it on a rusty thing, it kind of eats away from the rust as opposed to, like, lubing. Like. Like, if you were trying to lube something, you wouldn't use WD40.
B
You wouldn't.
A
I feel like we always used. No, no.
C
10W40. Wait, that's oil. 10W40. Like, you want.
D
Oh, what?
A
I'm a. Oh, no, it's okay.
D
I was doing WD40.
A
Right. Like, which is also a good. Ask a woman what WD40 is that, she may not know.
B
Yeah, I mean, I know that that's what you put when something's squeaky.
C
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
C
This is like you walking, right?
D
Yeah.
C
A man would say you have any 30 weight, right?
D
I. I heard WD40.
A
Oh, you're good, dude. Oh.
D
I have a question for a lady. A man question.
B
Okay.
D
Are women aware that when a man loads the dishwasher, it doesn't matter how he loads it, it will still wash all the dishes?
C
Great question. The answer is, a woman does not realize.
B
No, I don't like to do the dishes. My husband does the dishes, and however he does it is fine with me.
A
Well, I disagree with Jeff's hypothesis.
C
See, I do them, I load them, and Kelly goes in and reloads them.
B
Reorganizes. Yeah.
D
No, I was told I load a dishwasher like I'm a drunk raccoon.
C
Oh, yeah.
A
I can't have that.
C
The only thing I do do that might be considered. Might be.
D
Do you think it matters what way they face.
A
Absolutely not. No. I don't think if a plate faces left or right, it matters, but I want them facing all the same way.
C
Really? Now, the only thing I'm kind of anal about. Do you have that? I have that dishwasher that the tray comes out on the top. Yes, that you. That's got slots for all the silverware.
B
Yes.
C
Now, do you line it up so you go knife, knife, knife, knife, spoon, spoon, spoon, spoon.
A
I have compartments. I have compartments on the bottom and I have a small fork compartment, large fork. Mine goes small fork, large fork, teaspoon, tablespoon, butter knife, and then steak knives, miscellaneous, whatever is the least filled compartment.
C
This is a very interesting thing.
B
Yeah.
C
So you're very, very organized.
A
And it doesn't affect. In that case, Jeff. It does not affect how they're cleaned at all. It just.
C
Yeah, but I like. I like the general aspect of your question. My question again is, are women aware that we can't read their minds? And how long have they been aware of this?
B
It's taken us a long time.
C
Yeah. Okay, how about this one? What do odd numbered interstate highways all have in common?
A
Ah, that is a good question. I learned this early on in my travel.
C
Odd numbered interstate highways, they run north, south. Very good. Yeah, very good, Ms. Hooker.
A
Yeah.
C
Now, do you know your signs without the letters on them,
A
like in the driving test?
C
Yeah, most states now in the driving test require.
B
I don't know, I think I would know the obvious ones. Right.
A
Like a triangle. Do you know what that's.
C
What?
B
A speed limit.
C
No, no.
B
Triangle is yield.
C
Yep.
B
And then a rectangle is speed. Right. And then you got your stop sign,
A
which is what shape?
B
An octagon. No, that's not right.
A
It might be. I. I was asking because I didn't know.
B
Is it six or eight?
A
A stop sign?
B
Yeah, it's eight. Okay.
C
Okay, we got. These are great. This is really fun. We'll continue to do this. We also have a number of letters on other topics.
A
What is the last name of Vito, Sonny and Michael Corleone. Oh, whoa. You were so quick on that.
D
Yeah.
A
How did you know? Oh, you're Italian.
B
I'm Italian.
C
Have you ever seen the Godfather, Father?
B
Oh, yeah, I've seen all of them. All three? Yeah. Is there. There's not a fourth, is there? God, I hope not. No, that's the new one coming out. From the sister's perspective, right?
A
Yes.
B
Is that true?
A
Right.
B
That's gonna happen. Yeah.
D
Really?
A
I can't remember, is it a book or a movie? I did.
B
I thought it was a movie.
A
I know they're doing it.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
C
Okay. Is that. So is it gonna be called Godfather 4?
D
I don't know.
B
I think it'll be called what is Her Name.
A
I think it's called. No, thanks.
C
Should have stuck to two. Quit while you're ahead. Okay, here's another Question. Does a woman know what a check engine light means? Thank you, Chris from Bakersfield.
D
I know a lot of teen boys who don't know what a check engine light.
A
What's better, knowing what it means and totally ignoring it or just not knowing what it means?
D
What's funny? I got in my son's van the other day and I was like, hey, how long has this check engine light been on? He goes, oh, it just popped on today. Yeah, I'm sure it just popped on.
B
That is the standard answer.
C
Did you check it?
D
Yeah.
A
Did you solve the problem with a little black electrical tape?
D
Yeah, right over that.
C

You know the best part about this spicy Italian sausage? I voted for this topping.
D
Yeah.
C
Just another perk of being a member.
A
Come join us, Sam's Club. Hey, it's the Bob and Tom Show. Thank you very much for joining us today. Hope you're having a terrific morning thus far. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studio just at the news desk.
B
Hello, Jeff.
A
Oskar is there at the NHTSA sports desk.
D
Hello, sir.
A
Ace Cosby's there. Howdy. I'm Josh Arnold, and Tom is getting us excited for a video we're gonna watch of a man versus bison, which it's as funny.
C
I mean, the guy's gonna be okay.
A
I look good. That's important. But I do look forward to seeing it.
C
But he's badly hurt.
A
I mean, how many signs? I've never been to Yellowstone. I hope to get there sooner than later. But there must be signs everywhere.
C
Everywhere.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
C
They, they're very big animals and I, they can run, I don't know, 30 plus miles an hour. You're not going to outrun one.
A
And they're not, from what I understand, unwilling to pose for selfies. Yeah.
C
And that's pretty much how this happens.
A
All right.
C
We've been talking. We often talk about words, if you remember this. This is a letter from Steve. He writes Stephen, he writes, I think most men learn the term colostrum when their lady is pregnant or has just given birth.
B
Yeah.
C
Remember this one? We learned about it through the breastfeeding consultant when we were in the hospital. I always thought it was a funny term. My wife definitely did not appreciate it when I started calling her boobs colostrumy bags.
A
Oh, no, she wouldn't care for that
C
because I thought it was quite clever.
A
I like it, Stephen.
C
I do too. I think that's. That's pretty good. Your mom and Tom show. Tom. My daughter turned 10 in June. Oh, I've got a 10 year old. We were out in a walk with her adopted puppy, Nala. Sweet doggy. What a great doggy name. We were attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. My daughter was attacked on her neck and shoulders. I was attacked on my bald head.
A
Oh.
C
I told my daughter they attacked my head because they want smart blood. She said, no, dad, it's because you're bald. Thanks, sweetie.
A
Ah, yes.
C
Wear a hat, Tom, please. I'm going to be stealing your phrase. Oh, I see. I forget what the context was, but I said I was talking about something back in the old days and say that's when I was in charge of my own life, those days gone by. Well, thank you, Marvin from Louisiana. Always, always appreciate your input. Once again, we are looking for questions that determine your manliness or womanliness.
A
Yeah.
C
This all started with Ms. Jess Hooker. And do you have any more of the ones that you did for us on Friday? Do you remember we had purple shampoo?
B
We did.
C
Lbd. Little black dress.
B
Yes.
C
What was the one for the hair where you've got. Got a blonde streak on two sides?
A
Is that money piece?
B
It's called a money piece. Yes.
A
I love that.
B
Yeah.
C
And that's pretty. That's common parlance for that. Yes, the money piece.
B
Yeah. Yeah, we could.
C
I would never have put that together ever.
B
No, no, my husband definitely didn't. He thought it was a shape of a waxing in the nether region.
A
That's a good guess.
C
Yeah, yeah. Or a hooker.
B
Yeah.
C
A prostitute.
A
Man. That's not a bad guess. Yeah, she's a.
C
She's a. Because they've got side piece.
B
Yes.
A
Right. So why wouldn't money piece be somebody you'd pay on the side?
C
And by the way, I. I've discovered something new in the world of food.
B
Okay.
C
I think they've perfected microwavable rice.
B
Oh, yeah. In the bowls already.
A
Not bad.
C
Yeah, it's not bad. I say that because that's all I ate all weekend. I had a little intestinal disorder, so
D
it was a. Oh, you don't have the thing going around, do you?
C
I don't think so. It seems to be. We'll. I'll let you know. I think it's over.
A
Oh, good, good.
C
But I talked to my doctor about
D
it, but they had you on chicken and brown rice like you were a sick puppy.
C
But I. I used to always get that. Boil in a bag rice.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
C
Not bad. Yeah. But the microwavable rice, ladies and gentlemen, I give it a thumbs up.
A
It's acceptable.
B
Yeah, it's fine.
A
I have a rice cooker, so I'm spoiled.
B
Right. I just always do my stovetop.
C
You got a rice cooker? How long does that take?
A
I mean, it takes an hour. Yeah. But I've had one ever since I lived in Korea because it's. To me, it's the only way.
B
Nice.
C
So you got to plan an hour in advance.
A
Yeah, that's not gonna happen.
B
It's perfect every time.
A
Yeah, it is. It's perfect.
C
Okay, well, good to know. Let's visit the sports page with Mr. Oscar sitting in for Chick Magee, who I think is also on a diet of primarily of rice right now.
D
Well, we got the World cup happening right now, and the four teams in the finals, France, Spain, England, and Argentina, have all been former champions, and they're the top four of ranked teams in the world. So big surprise.
A
But things are kind of working out.
C
FIFA, which I believe is. Is it French for criminal? They. They're going to expand. They want to make it more teams.
D
Okay.
C
What's. Much like they're doing in college basketball.
B
Okay.
C
It's a smart move because you. That way every. You get more countries involved, that means more revenue.
D
Well, did you see this? FIFA will be selling chunks of the pitch from the World cup finals. According to FIFA's website, the chunks will eventually be taken from MetLife Stadium after the finals on July 19. Each piece is permanently preserved in acrylic. Comes with a USB drive that features the authenticity film.
A
Oh, those will sell out immediately.
D
Well, they're sold out. They were priced at 450 a piece.
B
Wow.
C
450.
D
450 a piece. Sold out already. You're too late.
A
Yeah, because they'll have resale value. Let's say it's not your team that wins and you don't want it anymore. You can easily sell it for double
C
what the organization that should be doing this is the pga.
B
Yeah.
A
Boy, that's interesting.
C
Maybe you could have someone collecting divots, because, I mean, they're chopping up the course.
A
Right.
C
Would you buy a divot from.
D
Yeah, that's a great idea.
C
Divot from Augusta in. Encased in. Because I think in our culture here in America, I think more Terrible. Golf gifts are purchased because there really isn't, you know. What do you get your golfing husband? Well, I gotta get him something. I'll get him the stupid thing that looks like a golf bag that holds umbrellas. You run out of dumb things to get after a while.
A
I would assume. Yeah, yeah. I know that it would be boring, but I would assume if an avid golfer would just want more golf balls.
B
Yeah. $90 box of golf balls is what
A
it is every year.
C
Yeah.
B
Can't get enough standard.
A
Yeah. New year. I know you're going to get me a box.
C
This is the honest to God truth. I don't have a picture. A girl, a little girl in my neighborhood who was a friend of one of my daughters. Instead of a lemonade stand the other day, she was selling golf balls.
B
I wonder if her dad was out of town.
A
She did what? Yeah, she had.
C
And she had more than 150 of them. And she graded them A, B and
A
C. Were they based on cleanliness or
C
if they were nicked up or more than 153 huge buckets of golf balls holding up assigned golf balls.
A
That is a very different neighborhood than I grew up in. But I love that. I love entrepreneurial.
C
She is. She's gonna be running the world.
A
Yeah.
C
She's always got an angle.
D
That's smart.
A
Yeah.
C
That was really. That was really sweet.
A
Then somebody needs to have an Arnold Palmer stand right next door. So your kids.
C
Oh, wait a minute. So you've got lemonade and iced tea. That is a good idea.
A
They need to join.
C
Yeah. The problem with lemonade stands is you need. You got to have ice. Kids, if you're doing a lemonade stand.
B
Yeah.
C
And you need a lot of cups. You know that story about getting, you know, paying four bucks for a lemonade
A
and you're walking away.
C
Hey, mister, that's our only glass. Can you bring it back? Okay, thank you very much.
A
I did the McDonald's drive thru ice for the first time over the weekend.
B
How was it?
A
Fantastic, right?
C
Is it crushed ice or is it cubes?
A
It was the McDonald's ice.
D
So. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
It's like a chip almost, right?
A
It is almost like a chip. And man, a buck fifty for a good, you know, medium sized bag.
D
And you hit it on the drive through. You don't even have to get out of your car. They hand it through the window.
A
Such a cool thing they do.
D
That's awesome.
B
Did you do that on your way to your fishing tournament?
A
Yeah, for the cooler in the boat.
C
Okay. Now here I Want. Here's the scenario. I bought ice this weekend, too, because, as you know, I hate crushed ice.
A
Yes, right.
B
We do know.
C
And the ice at my house, I can't stand because it comes out. It comes out in, like, these half moons.
B
Yes.
C
So when you're drinking something, that half moon becomes a dam, and suddenly it spills all over your shirt. Kelly likes crushed ice. So we have a crushed ice machine.
B
Machine, sure.
C
Once again, when I was in charge of my own life, I would have bought a big cube machine.
D
There's nothing on the refrigerator that you can hit that changes from crushed to full.
A
He doesn't like what their full ice is. Is the half moon stuff.
D
Oh, okay.
A
Mine too.
C
I've got a separate ice maker in my.
B
Yeah, you can't see that. His refrigerator is a refrigerator.
A
I love that.
B
Yeah, that is kind of cool.
D
That's pretty cool.
C
So I'm at Kroger.
B
Okay.
C
Where the savings never stop. And I'm. I'm in the self checkout. And if you've been there, there are like 10 of them. Yeah, it's great. And at the. They're lined up, you know, across from each other. And then the ice. The ice machine, whatever it's called, the bags are. The bag dice is right there, right at the end. So I've been waiting in line for a while. No problem. I get up there and I've got two other little things, and I put them on the thing and then I walked to go get my ice and some. A hole takes my spot.
A
And you weren't even done with it?
C
No, I just started.
B
Wow.
C
I hadn't. I should have checked something.
A
But your stuff was there.
C
My stuff was there on the. Because there's two. There's two shelves, one on the right, one on the left. The one on the left weighs stuff.
A
Right.
B
But there's a. I. There's an ice option, so you don't have to go.
A
Right.
B
Scan your eyes.
A
What? Yeah, yeah, you can look it up.
D
They have options for the ice.
C
There's probably some guy up in the office going, look at this moron. I go. I buy ice there all the time.
A
They have options for the firewood.
C
You're kidding me.
D
You go get the bag of ice and scan the bag?
C
Yeah. How else the hell else am I going to.
D
I'm surprised it scans.
A
I am, too.
C
There's a thing on it. I mean.
A
Yeah, Right?
D
Yeah, but.
B
Yeah, but it's so wet. Yeah, I. I wouldn't.
A
They don't. They would prefer you just to use
B
the so when you, there's, there's the same way you would look up produce. You can look up ice and like, like, like Josh says, a rick of wood.
C
I learned something today.
D
Mulch.
A
But that guy should not have stolen your.
D
No.
A
Did you say anything to him?
C
Yeah.
A
Did he just go, oh dude, I'm sorry.
C
He was a prick.
A
He didn't do anything. Ah, geez.
C
So I should have said something really nasty. Go back where you came from. Which is probably, probably, probably the same place I came from.
A
That probably wouldn't have worked.
C
Yeah. You know, suburban white dude. That's not really very effective, is I. That's. What a great revelation. I can just. Because I buy ice all the time.
B
Yeah.
D
Well now you can just go through the McDonald's drive thru. It's way easier.
C
But is it chips or is it cubes?
A
It is the, it's what you get it when you get a soda from there. So if you don't like that ice, stick with what you're doing.
B
I say because if you don't like the half moon shape, you're not going to like the McDonald's ice.
A
Right.
C
Because I like that clear. It is that beautiful.
B
McDonald's ice is very clear.
C
Really?
B
Yes, it is good.
C
I looked into getting it delivered and it was. I, I'm not joking. The guy said, well we were having an event a couple years ago. The guy goes, well it's a minimum of a thousand pounds.
A
Oh geez.
C
My friends may be drunks, but they're not that.
A
The iceman cometh with a forklift.
B
Yeah, we. We had a lake house when I was a kid and so we had a. Essentially a restaurant style ice machine.
D
Oh.
B
And in that way it was just, you know, the big thing. Yeah. You would pull the scooper. Yeah, the scooper, the whole thing. And it. Because you. We need ice constantly when you're at the lake. And so they just got one of those. Maybe you should get one of those for your garage.
A
Not a bad idea.
C
Does it make the clear cubes?
A
Yeah.
C
Oh, wait a minute. Yeah, here I come. Do a little bit of shopping today perhaps. Now let's just say. Well, I'll ask you what's coming up in sports.
D
Oh, we have run into the bulls and pit bull. So lots of bull.
C
Is that a tuxedo shirt?
D
It is not. It is a Cuban cigar shirt.
C
Yeah. Oh, okay. I just saw the frilly stuff. That's a bold move.
B
Oh no, that's a Jeff style shirt. For sure.
A
We know that because worn it since we've known him.
B
Yeah.
C
Never seen that before.
A
It is a cool shirt.
D
Thanks.
C
Makes you want to go get a one of those coffees that's super strong in the little, tiny, little tiny coffee cup.
B
An espresso?
A
Yes.
C
I had to spend a lot. I had to spend a lot of time in Miami and I'd got, I would go get those little tiny.
B
They're fun.
C
Oh, it's like drinking electric gasoline. It is great. And after that you go. I think I'm gonna go build a barn. A lot of caffeine right now. Prices are high. I got some gas this weekend. Hello. Groceries are high. I just got some new insurance for my car. That's another story. But the point is prices are way up on just about everything. So maybe you're in need of some cash. There are a lot of commercials you'll hear about. We can take all your credit. You'll pay nothing. Come on, get serious. You probably have some cash lying around in your house. The value of homes, as you know, has gone way up in the United States in the last five years. If you've got a five year old house, it's probably worth, obviously it depends on your situation. Probably worth about 30, 40% more than it was five years ago. 10 year, you lived there for 10 years. Probably doubled in price. But you don't have to sell it to take advantage of that. You can do a refi and refinance your home and then take some of that equity out and pay off your credit cards or put in a new kitchen or buy an ice maker like I want to get now. D
Welcome back to the Bob and Tom show. We are coming to you from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Across from me, the lovely Mr. Josh Arnold. Hi, Jeff. The wonderful Jess Hooker.
A
Hi, I'm Jeff.
D
Oscar. There's Ace Cosby.
C
You should have, you should have asked her a question because you know she's eating a sandwich over there. So.
D
Yeah, I was trying to be nice.
C
That's. I know. You give her. All she has to do is go, hi.
D
And there he is. Tom Grizzly.
C
You're welcome and thank you very much. We've been having a lot of fun with a list that Ms. Hooker came up with A. A list of questions that every woman probably knows the answer to and most guys don't.
B
Yes.
C
And obviously you're going to get situations in which you've got a. Folks get the other whatever.
A
Absolutely.
C
Yeah.
A
I don't.
C
I still don't even know this one. What. What is a peplum top?
B
Yes. I am a little unsure myself, so I didn't ask you guys that question.
A
A peplum.
C
P E P L U M. What's a peplum top?
A
Peplum top Shirt.
B
So, yeah, I think it is almost like an empire waist shirt. This is my guest.
C
I don't know what that is.
A
Yeah, I don't either.
B
It's like the seam is up high, so then it comes and it kind of flares out at the bottom.
D
Okay.
B
So it's a little fitted on top.
A
We've all seen them, dude.
C
Yeah.
B
Do you know what I'm talking about? Is that right?
A
Yes.
B
Okay.
A
I'm just looking at pictures and yeah, it's that.
B
It's like a flowy kind of hippie.
A
It's almost like if the bottom of your shirt had a skirt.
C
It's almost like a tennis outfit.
D
Yeah, yeah.
B
Kind of. Yeah.
D
Or like a old mom swimsuit.
A
Yes, yeah, exactly.
C
What's a kitten heel? That's a shoe. Right?
B
Huh. With a Very short heel.
A
And a few of us knew that. I only knew it. I guessed.
B
Do you guys remember what a diva cup is?
A
Yes.
C
Yeah.
A
That was one that I knew when you said.
B
Oh, okay.
A
Because I like joking.
C
That's the one in. In place of a. Instead of using a tampon, you have that in there. And I believe it was Jeffrey who suggested, if you're doing that, don't go on out in a trampoline.
D
Right.
B
No trampolines with the diva cups.
C
Yeah. Probably get a letter from someone who's a gymnast.
A
When I first heard about them, I thought they were, like. They were a cup that hung outside of everything.
B
No, that's very funny, though. It's. No, it is.
C
That'd be like.
A
Almost like.
C
Like one of those fly traps, except.
A
Except it was a cup. Almost like the. The cup and mouse trap that the marble would land in. That's what I was picturing.
C
Bucket.
D
That's funny.
A
Yeah. Yes.
B
No, you actually have to, like, It's a. I would would say. This is how I explained it to my husband. It's like a silicone shot glass, and you can bend it, and that's how you put it in there. And then it expands and fills the void.
C
How often do you have to empty that baby?
B
It depends on what day of your cycle you're in.
C
How do you know when the time is right?
A
Oh, you'll know.
B
You. You know. Yeah. You know. Yeah.
C
Now, we had an interesting letter a half an hour or so ago from a guy about colostrum.
B
Yes.
C
Remember this? And colostrum is what?
B
Colostrum is the nutrient dense liquid that comes in before your breast milk comes in.
C
And he. His wife had just had a baby, and this had been explained to them by the breastfeeding consultant. And so he referred to his wife's breasts as colostrumy bags.
B
That's funny.
C
Which leads to this letter. I heard you guys mention colostomy bags. This is a true story. I was checking into a hotel. In the lobby, they had a sign saying, welcome to Ostomy dance.
A
Oh, wow.
C
I asked the clerk what that meant. She said, it's a dance for people that wear colostomy bags. I said, I bet they don't do the bump. She did not laugh at my insensitive remarks and then proceeded to give me the worst room in the hotel. Right next to the ice machine and as far away from the elevator as you can get as payback.
B
Wow.
C
Wow.
A
That's a good, good joke. I would think even people with closme bags Would appreciate that.
C
Yeah. And I found out that the hard way.
A
What? You found out what?
C
Well, we had a, we used to have to read, they called it COMFO when Bob and I were up in Harbor Springs. COMFO is a community information.
D
Okay.
C
And we had to do that. One of the stations, I was talking about this just yesterday. One of the stations was a so called beautiful music station, Muzak, you know, all strings, like the Holly Ridge strings. Played the Beatles. Really nauseating stuff. But we had to, we, we had to announce that stuff on it would be on tape.
B
Yeah.
C
And they're all this. But then we'd have to go into the other building or the other part of the building and do a regular radio show show. So it was kind of like a Saturday Night Live bit where you're going, michigan's beautiful north weather. Then you're going, all right, today it's gonna be Sunday. The other building. But yeah, we had, we had some issues with that. But there was one of those COMFO things I read on the air, and it was a meeting of the Ostomate Society.
D
Ah.
C
And I said to Bob, what is that? People that have eight arms
A
got a,
C
got a visit from general manager. It's the same people who would go to a colostomy bag dance.
B
Okay.
C
Yeah. You know, hey, I didn't know there
A
are different kind of ostomies. A colostomy is a ostomy of the colon. So it, yeah.
D
So this gets everybody.
A
But what, what's that?
D
That dance all the idiots were allowed.
C
Oh, really?
D
Yeah.
C
Oh, that's nice.
A
Yeah, it was open to all.
C
So you, Is it cool to walk up to someone and go, hey, man, what's your bag? Maybe kind of a hip 60s thing. Hey, man, what's your bag?
D
Now, Jess, this isn't a question so much as this person has something that women cannot do, that all men can.
B
Okay.
D
He says, here's something a woman cannot do, is make a machine gun sound with her mouth. And that is something that all men can do.
A
Yeah. As a boy, you learn pretty quickly how to do that when you're playing war or whatever.
D
Yeah. Can you try it?
B
Hold on.
C
He's right.
A
That's a sprinkler.
D
That's a lawn sprinkler. Try it again.
B
I, I what? You guys do it and let me see if I can imitate it.
A
There are a few different versions of it.
B
Okay.
A
Jeff, do you have one in particular that you're, what was your.
B
Right. Oh, okay.
C
And there's like.
B
Yeah, there you go.
D
Oh, yeah.
C
No, I think that's a sprinkler.
A
It wasn't powerful enough to be a machine gun.
C
Try it again. No, it's just regular.
A
Well, everybody else said machine gun.
B
Pretty good.
A
I'm gonna go with those with not addled brains.
D
All right, now you try yours, Jess. Yeah, that was like a flamethrower.
A
Yeah, that would be a flamethrower.
B
Okay.
D
Yeah, that was a good flavor.
C
Got a nice letter here from AJ In Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Of course, famous for. Jess.
B
The Port of William. I don't know. What is it?
A
Can't believe it.
C
Little League. Yeah. Yeah.
B
Oh, Little League, World Series.
C
But that's not what this letter is about.
B
Okay.
C
It's about something we were talking about a few minutes ago. We were on a trip to our family cabin. My grandfather had just gotten a set of dentures. He spit out the window, and his dentures flew over and out with it. We had to stop and search along the road for them. My grandmother was not happy. We just left. Once again, we discovered dentures can be like 6,000 bucks.
A
Yeah, they're pricey.
B
How many times have you gone through a. A public trash can to find a retainer?
A
I've thankfully never had to do it.
B
You didn't have to do it?
D
Oh, no.
A
I didn't have a retainer until I was an adult.
B
Oh, okay.
C
One of my daughters just got those invisalign things.
B
Yeah. Yep.
C
And those are clear.
A
Yeah.
C
Which means when you throw them away,
B
not easy to find.
C
Long search.
D
I remember a kid throwing his retainer away in high school and take them taking the entire, like, trash can over to the corner and him have, like, dumping it on the floor, and he had to go through all the spaghetti and everything.
A
That's a big scene in Parenthood. It was like a yes.
B
Yeah, that is. Yeah.
C
Well, let's get back to the sports page with Jeff Oskar sitting in for Chick McGee.
D
Okay. The annual bull run in Spain Sen for Men festival saw one runner gourd in the face by a bull on Saturday.
A
Did he survive?
D
The six bulls and accompanying steers charged through crowds of thrill seekers who packed the narrow streets. In Pamplona, a black bull broke away from the pack early in the 957 yard run and plowed into a group of people smacking a runner in the face with a horn. The University of Navarro Hospital said 12 others required medical treatment for various injuries as well.
C
All right, but I mean, what, there are what, a thousand bulls or something, would you say?
D
Well, this had six, along with accompanying steers I think they do new ones every day. Right. It's.
C
I know. They unload them in the morning, and
D
there's a whole thing runs.
C
You said, Josh, you said you do this.
A
I don't know if I actually will, but I get it. I get the urge to do it. I don't know why I've always decided. I've always said I would be one of the. One of the people closest to the bulls when they first start, because I'm more afraid of being run over by the people than I am the bull.
B
Okay.
A
Whether or not that's a logical fear, you can decide for yourself.
C
Because if you trip on some other guy and then the bull comes by, right then you're in trouble.
A
I would rather have a bull right behind me that I can. Because I've watched a lot of video on it. Because I was going to. I was really considering eventually doing it. And so I watched some video, and the guys who are right in front of the bulls at first run for a while, and then they run to the side and the bulls pass them. And that's what I was like. Oh, that's what I would do.
C
But I was always wondering, what if the doorways crowded?
A
I. Dude, I know.
C
Do they let you in? You see all these people standing in the doorway? Or what if the bull goes. I'm going to attack that doorway.
A
Yeah, I'm going to. Yeah, exactly. I don't know.
C
And they're big and they're scary.
D
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
D
According to this, the guy says he's going to participate again, but he will keep an eye out for the bulls in the future.
A
All right. Would you do it, Jeff?
D
Yeah, I'd do it.
A
I guess it's. Do you see a lot of women doing it?
B
Oh, I don't know. I have.
A
Are they smarter than.
C
Yeah, I kind of experienced that this week.
A
Weekend. Oh, really?
C
Yeah. I had the runs.
A
Yes.
D
You had to run for the bull.
C
No, I just had the runs.
D
The.
C
The Festival of Fermine, whatever the hell it is. This guy's probably got a nice new. What do they call that gauge in his ear?
B
Oh, yeah. Sounds like it.
C
Yeah. Gourd in the face. Wow.
B
What do they call that? Is that a Marilyn Monroe piercing? Is that what they call.
A
Monroe is like the Monroe and your face face?
B
Yeah. Okay.
D
I love that.
A
Yeah.
D
That's trashy.
B
Yeah, it's like. Like I have this mole here. It's kind of like that. But you would have a piercing there.
A
It's like if you had a beauty mark, but it was.
B
Yeah.
A
Just a piercing.
B
Yeah.
C
They put it through your cheek.
A
Yeah, kinda.
B
Yeah.
A
Your upper lip. Like way.
C
How does it stay in there?
B
It has a back. Yeah. Screw. Yeah, it screws on almost.
C
Doesn't that feel weird inside your mouth?
B
I guess it would be. I guess it's the same as a tongue ring. Probably.
A
Probably.
C
Okay, now let's. Oh, we got to take a short break. Coming up, what do we have in sports?
D
Pitbull.
C
The. The singer.
D
Oh, yeah. He's set a new world record.
C
Kind of cool, actually.
A
I saw him at a hotel breakfast buffet once. I'll tell you that. I'll tell you about it when we come back.
C
I think this. We could probably do a whole breakfast buffet stories.
A
Probably. I mean, hotel buffet. You'll see a celebrity every now and again.
C
Yeah. I had my famous dinner buffet with Wolfman Jack. Once again holding his tray with a lit Lucky Strike.
A
Yeah.
C
Wearing the cape and the hat.
A
Oh, that's awesome.
C
And weighing it at least 350. But he was great. He was. He was the Wolf Man. You kidding me? These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show. This is the Bob and Tom Show. A
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom Show. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jess Hooker.
C
Hi.
A
She's at the news desk this week. Jeff Oskay's across the way at the NHTSA sports desk.
D
That's right.
A
Ace Cosby's there. Is that a Raiders hat, Ace?
B
Yes.
A
Oh, yeah, It's a cool one. It's got kind of a smaller badge on it. They're all cool. Well, that is true, but that one I especially like. Thank you. I'm Josh Arnold.
C
There's Tom. Ace makes everything look cool.
A
He does.
C
Ace could wear a beanie and it'd be kind of cool.
A
Now you're with a propeller. We could. Yes, but we could test your. Your theory if we gave Ace a lit sparkler. No, he still wouldn't look cool.
C
Yeah, that's the one thing that you just can't.
A
What about sipping out of a silly straw? That's still a little cooler than a Sparkler is.
C
Yeah, yeah. Holding a sparkler is the ultimate. And there's no way to look cool. Even if you. Even when it goes out, if you grab it with your fists and go. You just look like you're an idiot.
A
Yeah, yeah.
C
Maybe you need less meth in your life. We are looking at the sports desk. It's the NHTSA sports desk. And what, what do you got to say over there? Stupid world record.
D
Thousands of people, along with the singer Pitbull gathered in London's Hyde park to break the Guinness world record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.
B
Yeah.
D
A total of 22,000, 141 participants dressed as the stars, surpassing the minimum number of 2,000 people. Pitbull, a bald man himself, had to put on a cap to count towards the record. The record breaking event took place ahead of the artist's concert that same evening, July 10th. The bald caps are part of a social media craze wherein attendees dress like Pitbull for his concerts.
B
That's fine.
A
A little Pitbull cosplay.
D
Everybody's wearing a white suit with no shirt underneath,
A
sunglasses.
D
Yeah. I love it.
C
It's kind of cool. I'm glad he's got a sense of humor about it.
A
He's great. I saw him, it was early morning, the day after an all star MLB all star game in Kansas City. I was working it and Pitbull was the. One of the. Some of the entertainment. And the next morning I was at the hotel buffet and I look over at one of the tables. Pitbull is with two of the hottest women I've ever seen in my life. They are talking and eating and Pitbull's head was just on the table. He must have been hurting. Just. He Pitbulled the night before.
C
Yeah.
B
Time of his life.
A
Yes. Wow. Because I would have liked to have said hi. I like that guy. I think he's fun. And I love. I love that Timber song with he and Kevin. You guys know I'm an unabashed Kesha fan.
B
Yeah, I like her.
A
Yeah. You don't like her, Jeff. I mean, she's kind of right up.
C
She's still using the dollar sign thing,
A
you know, I don't know because when I'm texting to my other Kesha fans, I sometimes use it. Sometimes don't. Nobody says anything.
C
Are you a Kesha head? What is the term?
A
I don't know. A keshite. Are you an anti Keshe ite?
C
No, Kesha. Taurus,
D
not sports.
C
Okay. Look for the pictures of the guys with the ball, the bald wigs on. There you go.
D
Oh, that's great.
C
Yeah.
A
Well, that could either be a pit bull fest or.
C
Careful.
A
Or a festival of people who like the movie Powder.
B
Yes.
C
Oh, I thought you were gonna go the disease route.
A
No, no, I. I believe it or not, have a comedy filter.
C
I borrow it. I was gonna do a Jada Pinkett Smith joke.
A
Whatever. You keep her name out of your mouth.
C
I don't want to get slapped in the face. We have Jess Hooker sitting in for Christy Lee. And just. There's a news story. Not about a bullet. Pamplona Goring a guy in the face. This is about a bison in Yellowstone. I'm. I laughed out loud by myself.
B
Yeah, there's video of this. That is cartoonish. It's insane. A tourist was seriously injured after being attacked by a bison at Yellowstone National park. Professional photographer Mike McLeod captured footage of the incident that occurred at the Bridge Bay campground.
A
And Tom, you're saying Pulitzer to that guy?
C
Oh, yeah.
B
I don't know how he caught it. He caught the before. Yeah, it is. It's a story.
C
He gets the whole thing. I mean, why can't this guy see Bigfoot? That's what I'm saying. I mean, they. They show this. You forget how big. And this is what people incorrectly call buffalo. Like me. A buffalo is something. It's a bison.
B
In the video, a man and his grandson are seen snapping a photo of the animal from a safe distance.
C
Now, this guy, by the way, is wearing. He's kind of a corpulent fellow, and he's wearing.
B
He is a very normal sized person, by the way.
C
He's wearing suspenders.
A
I think we're gonna see him.
C
That look ridiculous. I mean, it's like they went to central casting and said, get a guy that looks like a really dumb hillbilly.
B
The bison does chase after the pair and flips the older man eight feet into the air.
A
Oh, geez.
C
And when he goes into the air, he's all splayed out. It's like you'd have to do 50 takes with a stuntman to get this perfect.
A
Are they too close?
B
No, not at first.
C
Yeah, that's the thing. They're pretty far away.
B
He charges them.
A
Okay, okay.
C
And he's mad.
B
Okay, here we go. We're gonna watch how far they are.
A
They do kind of see. Boy, that guy's not fat at all. He's got somewhat of a belly.
C
Oh, he's.
B
Yeah.
A
So the bison's even laying down, rolling around in the dirt.
B
The Guy's walking away, and there's a
C
car between them and the. You know what?
A
I think it's the truck that gets him.
B
It might be. Here we go.
A
Gets them all worked up.
C
Then he runs into the woods. And here's the old guy running around.
A
Running around.
C
This is where you bott up.
A
Oh, the guy runs out of the trees. He really is being chased.
D
He just leaves his grandson. He doesn't care about his grandson.
C
Get ready. Here it comes.
A
His grandson's already half a mile into the woods.
C
Here it comes. The bison's running around and running and kaboom.
A
I mean, this old man flies.
C
And it gets. Great the way his arms and legs.
A
Yeah, everything flails.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
D
It looks like he's right there. He's doing the Freddy.
C
Now.
A
I. I don't feel like that guy did anything wrong.
B
No, that. I mean, he. He. He took the picture and was walking.
A
Unless there are signs saying, don't get out of your car.
B
Oh, yeah, that's true.
A
But I don't know.
C
It's a campground.
A
I mean, I know they're not that close to this thing.
D
When the bison's rolling in the dirt, it's almost like he's a gymnast. Chalking up.
A
Yeah, exactly. We thought he. Yeah. You watch the video? Like, oh, even the bison is preoccupied. No, he was preparing. He was putting a little English on his.
C
I mean, this worked. It looks like the trailer for the new Jackass movie.
A
It does.
C
It's so perfect.
B
It looks like something they would do for sure.
A
So he was seriously injured, but he's okay?
B
Yes. He broke his femur. Everything is fixable, but it's just going to be a long recovery.
A
He looks like Haywood Banks.
C
Yeah, you think so?
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Am I alone in that, or.
B
He had the black glasses and the white hair.
A
Yeah, the beard.
B
Yeah.
C
Okay.
A
Yeah.
D
All I know is somebody's not getting their moonshine on time this year. Yes, people is laid up.
C
But by the way, if you've ever eaten a bison burger, they are great.
B
I had one yesterday.
A
Oh, nice.
D
How was it?
B
So good.
A
Yeah, those are tasty.
C
Did you go to Ted's, or did you make it yourself?
B
I went to Block and Brew in Knightstown. I was on a little Jeep ride all day, and. Yeah, stopped for lunch. It was very good.
C
They had the bison burger.
B
They had the bison burger, and it was delicious.
A
Yeah, you can get it. Y' all make them at home?
D
Is it not as fatty as a normal burger?
B
I feel like it's more flavorful.
D
Oh, okay.
A
Yeah, but I don't. I don't know what the fat count is.
B
If it's a. I don't either.
A
I'll look the next time I buy, because I buy these.
C
The next time you make one, do me a favor.
B
Yeah.
C
Flip it just like that guy. Like in the. Don't just turn it over up in the air.
A
If that had been Haywood, will you have laughed harder or less?
C
Harder.
B
It is funnier when you're.
A
That's when you know you're easy. He's a friend of yours?
C
He was over at my house yesterday. Brought me. He brought me me more eggs.
A
Oh, nice.
B
Good.
C
Right out of the chicken.
A
Oh, I love it.
C
Okay, we're gonna come right back. We have a bunch of interesting things on the way. That would include the python hunt. It's up and running. Josh, I know you're a fan of it.
A
Oh, it's now.
C
And then we have another snake story that is super creepy. Plus sperm donor alert. And then what would you do if you were running a grocery store and somebody dropped dead in one of the aisles?
A
Oh, gosh.
C
Well, we're gonna find out what happened.
A
Clean up an aisle six.
C

D
That I smell syrup.
A
I do, too.
D
Does that mean I'm having a stroke?
B
It's my coffee.
D
Oh.
A
Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, it smells good.
B
It does smell good. And I don't know why? Yeah, there's something in there. It's a flavored coffee, I think.
A
Yeah, like waffles. Yes. There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
C
It does. It smells like we're about to have pancakes.
A
Yeah, it's not bad. It's just a tease.
B
Yeah, sorry, no pancakes.
A
You know what I found to be just something that I'll never understand. If you guys do this, let me know, because I want to know the thought behind it. You know when you see on menus or pictures or in commercials of a stack of pancakes.
B
Sure.
A
There's always the pat of butter in the center of the top pancake with the syrup cascading down.
B
Who.
A
What psychopath just leaves the one pat of butter on the top of the cake instead of spreading it around?
C
The photographer.
A
Yes.
B
That's how it's served, I think. Yeah.
C
That's a whole art form.
A
But you don't butter like that and then pour syrup on and then spread your butter. You spread the butter first and then syrup.
D
Right.
B
No, I know people that put, like, a dollop of butter because they want it to melt.
A
They just want that.
C
So that's hot syrup.
A
It's almost the China syndrome butter effect.
B
Right.
A
Where that pad of butter can melt through that top pancake and down into the center of, like, the next two or so.
B
Right. Right.
C
Now, believe it or not, I may be shopping for a waffle iron.
B
Oh, really?
C
Yeah.
B
I have a good one.
A
Just get the removable plates. That's all you need.
D
Yeah.
C
Immersible.
A
Yeah.
C
Put them in the dishwasher.
B
I'll put them in the dishwasher. They're usually cast iron.
A
Right, right. But. Oh, but definitely that. So you're able to take them off and scrub them. Yeah.
C
Oh, okay. They don't have any of that. Go.
B
They have Teflon. They have Teflon one.
C
Yes.
A
But I.
D
Those fake.
A
Those get sticky if you wash them too much. If you. I don't know.
B
Yeah. You kind of have to season them a little bit. Yeah, yeah.
C
Well, as long as the. The chemical wears off.
A
Right, right, right.
C
When I'm cooking. So I'm eating.
A
When you make pancakes, do you eat the first one or do you throw it out?
C
That usually gets tossed.
A
Oh, okay. You will toss it.
C
It depends.
A
I hide it. I just put it on the bottom or.
B
Yes, on the bottom. That's.
C
Yeah, yeah.
D
Now, when you're doing. Let's say you got four cakes. Are you doing a layer of butter in between each cake?
A
I am Buttering each cake.
B
Yes.
A
Now, I'm not saying I use an individual pat, have you considered going to
C
some kind of electric spritzer that would melt it and you could.
A
I've looked into it. Like what they used to spray the side of spray paint the side of houses.
D
Well, don't they have, like a butter sprayer?
B
Yeah, they do.
A
Those aren't great.
B
Okay. That's not enough butter. I need more butter. That's. Yeah.
C
We have found out that. We have found out that a state fair we are very familiar with is going to be having ice cream cones dipped in butter.
A
We still sort of don't understand how it's going to work.
B
Yeah, I really do think that it is. I. I don't know this, but I think it is a combination, hopefully of real butter and a butter flavored topping, because that sticks better and then that can be room temperature. It doesn't have to be melted.
A
So are you. Are you thinking these will be like a dip cone?
B
It looks like it. That's the way it.
A
Okay.
C
I'm very excited about this.
A
What do you think it'll taste like?
B
I don't know, because I've had olive oil ice cream where they. They serve vanilla.
D
Oh, that's really good.
B
That's actually really good.
A
It is better than you'd think.
B
Yeah.
A
Usually means I'm at a place I shouldn't be eating at. It's too fancy.
C
Now, we. I mentioned this story earlier. It's about a grocery store here in the United States of America.
B
This is sad.
C
Well, I, you know, that's. It's part of death is. Death is part of life. And as Josh said, it's. Clean up on aisle seven. You want to do this? Want to read the story?
B
Yeah. Workers at a vons grocery store in granada hills, California, report that the store remained open for about four hours after a customer died following a medical emergency in the bakery aisle.
A
I have a question.
B
Yes.
A
Did they just move the body to the frozen food section?
B
So worse. It gets worse.
C
It does get worse.
B
Store supervisor Ms. Horner Smith says she and another employee performed cpr, but the customer could not be revived. She says corporate managers instructed employees to shield the body with shopping carts and umbrellas while customers continued to shop.
C
Okay, you got that?
A
Wow.
C
Some corporate genius. Hey, in ila, don't we have umbrellas for sale? They open them up and stick them next to the corpse.
A
I. That is worse than just putting it behind in the freezer.
B
Yeah.
C
The victims, they probably legally. Probably can't move.
D
Of course.
A
Right or they wouldn't want to. Yeah, whatever that.
B
The victim's family reportedly waited inside the store until the mortuary.
A
Oh, the family was there.
B
Yeah.
C
It's like the grocery store. I go to. Register six. Closed right there.
A
Hey, now that he's gone, can I. Can I have his coupons?
C
Yeah.
B
You gonna use those?
A
You might want to.
C
You're not. You're not gonna need the metal.
D
Well, the saver card he had got him 5% off his autopsy, so.
C
I mean, do you suppose they have a standard procedure?
A
I don't know.
C
I mean, what are you supposed to do?
B
I don't. I don't know.
C
Do you close the grocery store?
B
I think you do at least the aisle. You close the aisle.
A
I do think you close the grocery store. And you're right. You at least rope off the aisle.
B
Yeah.
A
Tie some Twizzlers together or something.
C
Are they gonna start issuing? I. I imagine as this story gets around, if they don't already have a. Yeah. Protocols. If this happens, here's what you do, right? They're gonna. They're gonna have the. The police tape or whatever it is that you would have.
A
Oh, boy.
C
I'd be pissed. If I went to the grocery store and the only. I can't get to the dairy section because grandma croaked. I'd come in here Monday morning. You know what happened to me this weekend? Some old lady dies.
A
Right.
C
When I walk in to get a dozen eggs. I've got the bacon sizzling at home already.
B
Man, that's just awful.
C
Your death inconvenienced me greatly, madam.
A
What's the most embarrassing aisle to die in?
C
Oh, I would. Oh, family planning.
A
Right.
C
I think anything pharmaceutical, because it kind of suggests that, well, if I'd only gotten to the stool softeners earlier,
D
maybe
C
the condom aisle, would that be right?
A
That. That. Hence the family. Family planning.
D
Yeah. With my luck, I'm gonna die. Like inspecting a cucumber. They're gonna be like, oh, yeah, we see what.
A
Yeah. The way you fall and the way you're holding the cucumber. Could be. Yeah. Oy. What luck would be I'd be walking past the Hostess product, not even buying some, but die. And my family would go, of course,
D
as you're falling, you pull a bunch of boxes off the shelf as you're trying to grab.
A
Exactly.
D
You're just covered in dig dogs.
A
This is how we want to go.
B
Well, I just learned that about who was the lady from the Mamas and the Papas, and she had that story that she died With. Of a ham sandwich.
C
Elliot.
A
Right. It happened to just be.
B
It was just sitting.
A
It was there.
D
Yeah.
B
She didn't even eat it at all.
A
Wasn't choked. She did not choke on it.
B
And it was all. It was actually like years of yo yo dieting and caused heart failure.
D
Yes.
B
That's so sad.
A
Now, there may have been some sandwich in her belly that they found, but no. Yeah. She did not.
D
We know what was on the sandwich.
C
It always was. The. The of urban legend is ham sandwich.
A
Right, right, right.
D
But is there Swiss or does she have lettuce? Tomato?
A
Let's be honest. Probably marshmallow cream.
C
I think it's better than Hendrix choking on his own vomit.
B
They say that too. I didn't know that.
C
And then of course, the great joke in Spinal Tap where the guy dies choking on someone else's vomit. I don't know how anything. How those guys were able to film that and not burst out. I have no idea if that was an ad lib. How they couldn't just howl as the words came out of his mouth. What's coming up in the news?
B
Burn. Sperm donors have limits. They have limits.
A
Oh, that's like. Oh, okay.
B
You know. Yeah.
C
That's distance.
B
Yeah.
C
Speed.
B
More specific.
A
I know. They limit how close you can be to the actual. You can't necessarily be parked across the street in the Burger King.
B
Right.
A
And claim that you're gonna be donating. I tried. Right. With a police officer. He asked me to.
B
I see we have snakes in the news. Lots of snakes.
A
Yeah. Are you afraid of them?
B
I don't know. I've never really been around snakes to know if I'm scared or not.
C
Well, this one story, you'd have ample opportunity.
B
Okay.
C
They're loose, they're wild, and there are thousands them.
A
Are you afraid of a five inch Missouri white snake
C
or a six foot tall Missouri liar?
A
I did lie.
D
It's.
A
It's eight.
C

A
No.
C
We may have the final iron lung story.
A
Wow.
C
Coming up from from the US of A. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
A
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom show. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Thank you for joining us. Jess Hooker is at the news desk.
B
Hello, Jeff.
A
Oscar's at the NHTSA sports desk.
D
Yes, sir.
A
Ace Cosby's at the engineering board. Howdy. I am Josh Arnold. And there's Tom Griswold. Looks like he's got some fresh correspondence.
C
We're talking about men versus women again,
A
questions that a lot of women will know the answers to but most men won't and vice versa.
B
Right?
A
It's fine.
C
Yeah, it is. It's, it really is interesting. For example, I didn't know the answer to this one. Square, almond, round, stiletto or coffin shape?
A
Oh, I did know that.
B
Yeah.
C
And that's what glued on fingernails.
B
It's just a fingernail shape that you choose when they're filing down your nails.
C
And stiletto is the one where they're pointy, real pointy.
A
What would you say you've had most in your life?
B
Scoville. Scoville, which is is square but rounded edges. Square, oval.
A
Okay.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
And Scoville is also the, isn't that the spiciness scale?
C
Yeah. Is it really the scale for how. How hot something is is measured in Scovilles.
A
Rory Scoville is a fine stand up comedian.
C
This new special salt ties in. I didn't know this one. What's a water line?
B
A water line? Yeah. But a lot men and women both have water lines.
A
I don't even remember my. In my head, I remember guessing it was when you're crying and you wear. And you're wearing makeup and you can see water lines.
B
My husband said it's your water line is where you fill the bathtub to. And you know, you can't go past that or the water will come out.
C
Oh, a little bit of water displacement.
D
That's very smart.
C
Yeah, that's. That answer makes sense.
B
Sense. No, it's actually the white parts of your eyelids that are. That are the. I mean, I don't know the water line. So when I pull down and you see these white lines right here around my eyes? Those are your water.
A
Do you mascara a waterline?
B
No, you line a water line with an eyeliner.
A
Ah, that's what you use, the eyeliner.
C
That's why a woman would be more likely to know this. Yes.
B
That's how you get the smoky eye.
A
Mascara is for the eyelashes.
B
Eyelashes.
A
Okay.
C
What is the current a favorite in the world of fingernails.
B
Fingernails. I think that it's. Pick your own adventure, man. Everybody does a lot.
A
I've noticed. I love fingernails.
C
Yeah.
A
So I tend to notice. Yeah, I've noticed a lot of stilettos out there.
B
There are a lot of stilettos. Amy likes a stiletto nail. Our Amy.
A
I call them back. Scratching nails.
B
Yeah, I like those.
C
How do you function with the. And every time we get those, you know, the person has the world record with the, you know, ten foot nails.
B
Yeah, I don't. I don't know about that.
C
I mean, that's obviously mental illness, but
A
I mean, I mean, who picture nose for you?
C
Yeah,
B
that's true.
C
How could you do anything?
A
I don't get it.
B
I don't know. I love when I do have long nails, though. I feel so feminine.
D
I'm a big. I like nails. My. My favorite is the. The French tips.
B
Yes.
D
On the ladies. I know that's a little outdated, but I still.
A
I still like it too. Is it considered out.
D
Out of.
A
Of.
C
Do they smoke the.
B
Carmelo Soprano is what they call them now.
D
Oh, okay.
B
Carmelo Soprano is what they call them. Yeah, everybody gets those.
C
Here's another question that ladies will tend to know when men won't. I don't remember this one. What's an everything shower?
B
Yeah, we actually talked about this on the show a couple months ago. I think Chick introduced it to us. But an everything shower is when it's like a. It's like one of the showers. You choose once a week, maybe like on a Sunday. And it's a lot of self care. So you're gonna do a mask and you're gonna shave your legs and maybe guys will manscape. Yeah. Or exfoliate. Yeah. Things like that. Yeah. You do all the things in the shower.
A
Pumice. Are you a pumicer?
B
I'm not. I have naturally soft heels. I don't have to pumice.
A
Yeah.
C
What's a pumicer?
A
I asked if she was a pumiceur. But it's when you have a pumice stone for your. The bottoms of your feet if they get rough.
C
You do that in the shower.
A
I don't. I too have naturally soft heels.
B
Yeah.
D
Kitten heels.
C
What is a claw clip?
B
Yes.
A
Yeah. I've broken many of those in my day.
B
Yeah.
A
Well, you put that down. I'm often told.
C
And that's a giant.
D
It's like a big chewy mouth. They can be tiny too.
C
Oh, that's the one you do. You pretend you're a pterodactyl.
B
Yes. Okay.
C
Okay.
A
I'm gonna bite you. Will you put that down?
C
And we did learn what colostrum was.
B
Yes.
C
And then we had the nice letter from the guy who referred to his wife's breasts as. She was just given birth as a colostrumy bags.
A
And I think it's funny. And I can see why the wife didn't.
C
Yeah. Having just given birth. You gotta give a little space.
A
Baby feeders has never gotten a laugh. Yeah.
C
I see Jess Hooker is sitting in for Christy Lee at the Bob and Tom news desk. What you got over there?
B
A European fertility group is advocating international limits on sperm donations. At a conference in London, members of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
C
It's going to be a party.
B
They sound crazy. They argued there that the need to. There needs to be a standard limit on the number of children a single donor can contribute to.
A
I. This makes sense. Yeah.
B
The organization is calling on all European sperm egg banks as well as fertility clinics.
A
Egg banks.
B
To respect an initial limit of 50 families per donor.
A
And egg banks are very important. It's just that name makes.
B
I know it sounds.
A
Yeah, 50A.
D
Dude.
B
Yeah. That seems too many donor.
C
Especially if it's a. A small town. You're going to have that issue we
B
had that issue here.
D
That guy's making money hand over fist over hand over fist.
C
So they're calling for sperm limits. So I'm in favor of term limits. Right, right. That could be your platform. I'm. Term limits and sperm limits.
A
You know what? When it comes to Congress, I think I'm also in favor for sperm limits.
B
No kidding.
C
Yeah.
A
That guy can't reproduce anymore.
C
We don't need any more of this guy. Wow. Wow.
A
H. Interesting.
C
This one thing says part of the problem with an anonymous egg is they don't know if obviously you're dating your half sister, whatever it might be.
A
What's the going rate for a load?
B
That's what I was curious. I, I don't, I don't know if there's black market or.
A
Yeah, well, black, white, whatever.
C
Yeah, I think it really varies. I still am of the opinion that somewhere out there there's a broker where you can go, look, I'd like a Brad Pitt sample, please. Yeah, and you know, if you're Brad Pitt and you get approached by someone, says they want $5 million for your sperm, I'd say if you got two minutes. I'll be right back. I'll be right back.
D
So if someone wanted to buy your sperm, you would sell it?
A
You have a price?
C
If the. Hey, look, if the money was right, why not Really?
B
I don't. I, I don't think I could. I would. I don't think I would be able to. I do that. I would carry someone's baby. 100 if somebody needed me to carry. I'm a very healthy pregnant person. I could do that.
C
You'd like?
B
Yeah, I would love. I would be a surrogate.
A
Would you carry mine?
B
Let me talk to my husband now.
C
Is it going to be.
D
We have to do it for radio.
A
Look, just comedically.
C
Yeah, I'm sorry.
D
We'll.
C
We'll get in the trades and everything.
A
It's going to be great. It's either me or caller nine.
C
Would you sell your sperm, Josh, for the. Right.
A
I don't, I. Yeah, I think so, but I don't, I haven't and I don't plan to.
C
But if someone said, I'll give you $100,000.
A
Oh, so this person came to me like. So I'm not donating to a bank.
C
I'm to this specific.
A
I don't know.
C
And the legal documents were such that you're not.
A
I don't think so.
B
Yeah.
D
I don't think I could even get someone to take my sperm if I offered them $100,000 wants what I'm bringing to the table.
C
Especially when you just scrape it off my sleeve. So my new campaign, Sperm Limits and term limits. Yeah, this makes sense, because wasn't. Wasn't it in England where they had. The couple was just about to get married.
B
Yeah.
C
And they found out that they were. They had the same father.
B
I just saw one the other day that it was a mom and a son and they didn't know. And then they. They realized they kind of looked alike. And then the story started to unfold.
A
They were dating and.
B
They were dating.
A
Oh, no.
B
Yes.
C
Well, it's nice to see a younger guy with an older woman.
A
Yeah, you got that going for you.
C
So there's. There's the hallmark aspect of it.
A
I mean, she was robbing the cradle, but it was her own.
B
She was clearly a teen mother. I mean, there wasn't much of an age gap.
A
You know, I saw a story in the New York Post about. This is semi related. Tinder has gone up, like, 34% in the cities where the World cup games are taking place. And it's all these international people trying to bang some American people.
C
Well, hey, you think they like ranch dressing? Get a hold of that. Wichita poontang.
A
Yeah.
C
A little something to take back to Australia.
B
That'd be fun.
A
That's kind of what I was thinking. It's like, why wouldn't they. Yeah. And you. And I'm sure they're. You know. Women love an accent.
B
Yeah.
A
Guys do, too.
B
Get a free trip to Spain, go back home with them.
C
What do you got? You got your Spain, you got your England. Argentina.
A
Yeah.
D
France.
B
And France.
C
And France.
B
Yeah. All right. Who do you guys have? What do you think?
D
France.
B
France.
C
I wanted Norway to win because I love to watch their rowing thing.
B
Yeah. That's fun.
C
That's so funny.
B
Yeah.
C
But no, I don't know if I
A
want Britain to win anymore because I can't take much, much more. Wonder wall. Sing along.
C
I couldn't. I could. Could not agree more. However, they haven't won it for, what, 90 years or something?
D
Yeah.
A
So I do kind of. Part of me does root for them.
B
But the hey Jude thing was kind of cool, watching that guy take it in as they were all.
A
Yeah. Honestly, I kind of thought. Wonderful. Kind of tool, too.
D
But I.
C
Okay, I know. Once again, Jess Hooker sitting in for Chris Lee at the Bobatom news desk. What else is happening over there?
B
It's that time of year again. The Florida Python Challenge kicked off over the weekend.
A
I have to start Remembering when this
B
is, put it in your.
C
You would actually do this?
A
Yes, yes.
D
100 send us.
C
You'd go to.
D
Oh, somebody's gonna videotape this by a snake. I'll. I'll video.
B
The annual event, which runs from July 10th through the 19th, offers $25,000 in total prizes, including $10,000 for the person who removes the most Burmese pythons.
A
The most.
B
10 grand.
D
Dude, there's some guy who's got this kick ass above ground pool in his backyard and they're like, how'd you get the new pool? I paid for it in python.
A
I want to say I paid for something in python.
B
The 10 day hunt is part of a state effort to help decrease the number of invasive snake species in the subtropical wetlands.
C
But isn't this like taking a bucket get outside to catch rain?
A
Yes, but any. Every little. Every snake matters.
C
Really?
A
Yes.
B
Well, the cat.
C
That bumper sticker on your car next to the piece thing. Every snake matters.
A
I mean, it's. You catch a female who's going to lay a certain amount of.
C
Oh, I get it.
A
Birth a certain amount of the snakes.
C
Yeah, but what are they going to do? This is just going to get worse and worse and worse.
B
The categories include professionals, novice and military. So you have to sign up for which novice?
A
Yeah, I'd have to join them.
C
You know, it sucks. No guns.
B
No guns. No. The competition also requires snakes to be killed humanely and prohibits the use of guns among us.
C
So it's Batman rules.
A
Yeah, exactly. He never. He didn't. He didn't kill. I mean, traditionally, there's no, there's no
C
such thing as a bat gun, is there? Does he ever shoot? He never shoots anybody, right?
A
No, no. He has a gun that will shoot.
C
Yeah, yeah, the thing too. So we can do swing around.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
But no.
B
Do you guys remember last year's winner?
A
I don't.
B
Taylor Stanberry. Real hot. Real, real hot. She caught 60 Burmese pythons. Man.
A
That's awesome.
B
Yeah.
A
Is there a men's and women's division?
C
It doesn't look like there used to be a kids category, but.
A
Well, only a few came back.
C
Little Jimmy Johnson.
A
Yeah.
C
And little, little Davey Smith.
A
Didn't that hunt turned into a buffet?
C
So I have a dumb question and I don't know the answer. So you, you, you bring in these dead pythons.
B
Yes.
C
Did they harvest the skin? Like, is the boot barn gonna have
B
a. Oh, I don't know.
A
From what I understand, yes. They'll sell the meat and the skins.
C
The meat.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
C
But is it is. It like when you're fishing, where you have, like, the live tank.
A
See, that's. I thought they had, like, these big sacks. I didn't know that the hunters have to kill them.
D
And what is a humanely way of, like, can I chop it up with an ax? Is that humane?
A
Like, right.
B
Yeah.
A
Because I will have an issue killing them.
B
Yeah. I don't know. I mean, every time you see them. So when they grab them, they grab them right there, like behind the eyes, the back of the neck, and they squeeze. Right. So I don't know if that. You just cut off their air. I don't know.
A
Strangle a snake, I have a feeling
B
it's gonna fight back.
A
It's not gonna. Like it.
C
Has anybody ever handled a python in here?
D
Not you.
A
I owned. I owned one. Yes. Yeah.
D
How long was a ball python?
B
How long?
A
How long did it get?
B
Yeah.
A
About four feet, maybe. Yeah.
C
Oh, so that's nothing.
A
Oh, no, it was still pretty small. Yeah.
C
I mean, would that have grown to be a.
A
It would have grown. It would have grown as big as I let it. Like, they. Like, I. Yeah, there were. I could tell how big it was based on what food I had to buy for.
B
Oh, okay.
A
You start with pinkies, which are the furless baby. Those are the worst. You go to the. Yeah, they are the worst. And then they go to. Then you go to the fur mice or the, you know, the more grown mice. And then eventually you do get to rabbits.
B
Did you have to feed yours a rabbit?
A
No, it never got that big.
D
Oh.
B
What kind of python does Britney Spears have at the VMAs that year? Do you remember that? The yellow one?
A
Yeah. It was sort of an albino. Albino.
B
Okay.
C
They had one of those in here. One day.
A
I got my picture taken with one of those in Singapore.
B
Yikes.
A
It was just some guy on the corner.
C
Oh, that's reliable.
A
Yeah.
C
If anything goes wrong, it was like,
A
five bucks to get my picture taken with it.
D
Yeah.
C
Did you hold it?
A
Oh, yeah, over my shoulder.
C
Where was the head?
A
Kind of moving around, like. But yeah.
C
And he assured you in his gibberish that it had been fed recently?
A
He didn't assure me of anything.
B
He took my five bucks.
A
For all I know, the guy wasn't even selling pictures.
C
There's a guy in the corner with
A
a madman with a snake, and I'll give you five bucks for that.
C
Good to know. Coming up, we have another snake story that is, even if possible, more creepy because it has a number of king cobras in it and they be loose. Oh, man, that's. I would move right now. I want to remind you about the Hyundai getaway sales event. It is up and running right now. You can get great deals on Hyundai's most popular models, including the adventure ready SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe or the Santa Fe Hybrid, the Tucson and the Tucson Hybrid. There's the bold and stylish Elantra loaded with the latest tech. Or go all electric with the Ionic 5 or the Ionic 9. Get down to your local Hyundai dealer and get away as part of the Hyundai getaway sales event happening now. You'll love to get a great new car. Hyundai, the getaway sales event up and running. Visit Hyundai USA.com for more details. Also coming up, we have a bizarre story in the world of commercial flight. What would you do if the window popped out? Well, you're gonna find out. By the way, the guy's okay.
D
Okay.
C
Oh, sort of. We'll find out when we return to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show. Hey, thanks for listening this morning. Got something to say? Send us an email. Bob and tomobandtom.com
A
hey, it's the Bob and Tom show live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker is at the news desk.
B
I am? I am.
A
Jeff Oskay is at the NHTSA sports desk.
D
What's up, buddy?
A
Nice looking. Rad. There's Ace Cosby. I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
C
Thank you very much. You're welcome. Just getting organized over here.
B
Jeffy, is that your bedroom voice?
D
I don't have a bedroom voice.
B
You don't?
D
I don't think so.
C
Beating on the door saying let me
A
in, stop starting without me. Are you a high pitched completer?
D
I'm silent. I'm like a ninja.
B
Oh, really?
D
Oh, yeah.
A
What's that about?
B
That seems very opposite of you everywhere.
D
Well, I have three children. That's what that's about.
C
I just like the word completer. That sounds like the name, if that isn't the name of a band. The Completers.
A
I knew a girl who complained because her husband was a high pitched completer. The way, the way she said, the way she put it was,
D
I was
A
like, oh, that's no good.
B
That is no good at all.
C
Yeah.
A
I mean, what do you do That's a deal breaker.
C
That's A one way ticket to Christopher Street.
B
Yeah, you put a pillow over his face.
A
I mean, you gotta wanna. It's a bummer when you don't wanna. Please.
C
That's an Anderson Cooper arrival.
A
I'd like to think. I'd like to think old AC it goes the opposite.
C
You've heard that Anderson Cooper giggle, right?
A
Oh, yeah, yeah, that would be it. I sometimes have a high pitched giggle.
D
You do too.
B
Yeah.
D
No.
C
Well, it depends on the circumstances certainly. Now we had a story about the python hunt going on in Florida, but this is a different snake story that I think is creepier.
B
It is creepy. Floodwaters triggered by typhoon Masak unleash hundreds of snakes. Snakes from a snake breeding farm in China.
C
Now stop right there. A snake breeding farm?
B
Why? Why? Why? Why?
D
And we wanted another Covid.
C
And among other things, they're breeding the deadliest of snakes.
B
Yes. The Independent reports that heavy rainfall led to the escape of nearly 900 reptiles, including venomous cobras.
C
So I Wait, is this because. Do they have to harvest these, the venom for anti venom or something? I.
B
Is that what that is?
C
I don't know. I do not know.
A
I don't know either.
C
But I mean it doesn't sound. The Snake Farm. What? What is it? And the cow goes moo, moo, moo. And the duck goes quack, quack, quack. And the snake goes. No, it doesn't fit. Snake Farm.
A
You guys know the Ray Wiley Hubbard song? Snake Farm just sounds nasty. Snake.
C
There's a song?
A
Pretty much. It's reptile house. Snake Farm.
C
What?
A
Oh, it's awesome. It's about a strip club.
B
Oh.
A
They call the Snake Farm. But it's.
B
Okay.
A
That's so good. Who does it? Ray Riley Hubbard.
C
Okay.
B
Viral footage showed scores of snakes swimming through floodwaters while another video showed villagers trying to catch the snakes with bamboo sticks.
C
That'll do it.
B
An official said the team has been organized to capture the snakes. One person have said that they were bitten and is receiving emergency care. Man.
C
Yeah, I.
A
King cobras are terrifying. Yes, they're massive.
B
Is that the ones that have like the
C
crazy, like a bad neighbor snake farm?
A
Are those. Are those snakes?
C
Yeah, yeah, it's. It looks like a raft of snakes.
A
It's comical.
C
It. Yeah.
A
Look at these snakes.
B
They look like little baby Loch Ness monsters.
A
Yeah, it looks like a ton of Loch Ness monsters going down a river. Yeah, as Tom said, rafted up.
B
What are those striped ones? Is that a. That's.
D
That'll hurt.
A
Look at that guy.
D
That's.
A
That's a cobra staring right at you.
B
Oh, my gosh.
D
Hey, Joshy, you want to come join our snake pot?
A
I'm good, man. I'm good.
C
But I appreciate the Snake Posse. Sounds like a cool name for a band. Oh, yeah, Yeah. I found Snake Farm.
A
Oh, it's so good.
C
Is this clean?
A
Yeah, yeah, because.
C
Okay, here we go. Every time I do this, it ends in the first. Words always end up being obscene.
A
I love this.
C
Okay, here we go. Hello, Snake Farm. You there, Here comes this it. Oh, nice guitar.
A
I don't know what version this is.
C
Oh, my gosh. This is Paul Thorne's version.
A
Oh, okay. I was gonna say that's not real. She can dance like a little Egypt. She works down at the Snake farm. Snake Farm.
C
To sell nature.
A
That's the snake farm pretty much here.
C
Snake Farm is a reptile house.
B
Snake farm.
C
Ah, yeah, it's great.
A
I've never heard Paul Thorne's version.
C
Wow, I love Paul Thorne.
A
Yeah, I do too.
C
He's a frequent visitor, by the way.
D
I feel like I could have written those lyrics.
A
Oh, really?
D
Yeah,
A
it's a fun one, man. That's a fun one.
C
Snake Farm again, I didn't know there were such a thing.
B
But.
A
But in that case, it's a strip club.
C
I see.
A
You can get bit at the Snake farm.
B
Is it a real strip club, do you know?
A
Not that I don't know. I don't know.
B
Might have to look it up now I'm curious.
C
Wow. I. I'll have to find out why you would have a snake. A real snake farm. I mean, it. It must be for the venom, I guess.
A
I don't know. In China, though, it could be for those wet markets they go to eat them.
D
Yeah. Yeah. Have you had snake before?
A
No, I've seen it and I've not had it.
D
I've had fried rattlesnake.
A
Okay.
B
Yeah, Nuggets.
D
Yeah. And. But they had a bunch of. Of interesting game. Like there was like, lizard or what? One of those lizards and iguana. Oh, yeah, I'm sorry. They had alligator, and it all pretty much tasted the same.
C
Was it all. Is it all battered?
D
Yeah, it was all battered and fried. But the. The rattlesnake nuggets weren't bad.
B
They're kind of chewy, to be honest. A little chewy, a little tough. Yeah.
A
I had rattlesnake eggs one time, but that was just a clever way of the restaurant. That's what they called their jalapeno poppers.
B
Oh, that's cute.
C
But I mean, so this was. In this case, this was a flood. Following what, a typhoon?
B
Yeah.
C
I mean, flood, bad, snakes worse. Yeah, but I mean, this happens with floods here in the States. Not. But not a snake farm. But you get. The snakes are all coming up and the gators are coming up. Yikes.
B
Relocated.
C
Yeah. Yeah. Okay, now. Oh, that's our two snake hunter stories.
B
Yeah. No more snakes in the news.
C
What else you got?
B
A recent study suggests that people who view pornography more frequently tend to experience higher levels of depression.
A
That makes sense.
D
Well, they just aren't viewing the right pornography.
A
Yeah. Quit Googling crying chicks.
D
Yeah.
B
The findings suggest that this relationship exists independently of a person's age, gender, or moral beliefs about watching pornography.
C
Interesting.
A
I. I think that would. I can see why there would be a correlation there.
B
Yeah.
A
You're not out meeting people. You're.
B
Yeah, you're. You're. You're.
A
You're kind of etching away at your soul.
B
You're missing out on the most fun part of sex. Like being with someone. Right. No, Jeffy.
C
You know, they say that people who are into butt player are bummed.
B
They're bombed.
A
Is that what they say?
C
Bummed out. Bummed in.
B
Do you think that after you view, you feel better? You feel energized, you feel happier?
A
It depends.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah, sometimes, yes. Other times, you know, when it's the day after Christmas and I just spent the money my grandparents gave me, I didn't feel. I didn't really feel great about that.
C
And in the Outdoor wasn't that much of a good movie anyway.
D
Right.
C
It's not just the Zeppelin.
A
So,
C
what's coming up in the world of news?
B
Jess Hooker, possibly our last polio patient. Oh, she. She died.
A
Oh.
C
Well, not the last polio patient.
A
Thank you for taking one for the team, ma'.
C
Am. The last user of a specific tool.
D
Oh, okay.
C
We're about to have a resurgence of polio patients.
B
Yeah, we've got a drum truck.
C
We'll get to that coming up.
A
No, we won't. We can tell. We can talk about this story.
C
And we have giraffes in the news again.
B
Yeah.
C
Got a cool giraffe story that you'll be quite surprised.
A
Nice. Is this one. It's not missing.
C
No, no, no.
D
They tied his neck in a pretzel.
C
They caught a trick. They caught the missing giraffe.
B
Silly straw.
C
This is a cool giraffe story. It's all happening here in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show. Hey, thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Get a look at today's show on our YouTube channel here dot com.
A

Hello, there's Jeff Oskay across the way at the NHTSA sports desk.
D
Hi.
A
Ace Cosby's running things. Hello, I'm Josh Arnold and there's Tom Griswold.
C
We were talking about an unfortunate case in which a someone dumped their. Dropped their dentures into a. Oh, yeah. To a toilet vault.
A
Boy.
C
And they had to empty it, fish it out. So apparently dentures are quite expensive. I just received this letter from Jim. He writes, I retired last year from large city school system, 35 years as a custodian.
A
Oh, good for you, man. An unsung hero.
C
I found dozens of retainers. I bet if a kid was willing to help, we usually found them. If they wouldn't help, they went straight to the dumpster. Yeah, a couple of times. I didn't get informed about the loss until lunch was over. Out to the dumpster we'd go. The process was put gloves on and slowly take the trash out, looking it over, then putting it into an empty trash can. Ah, man, it gets more fun at the bottom where all the liquids have gathered.
A
Oh, no, no.
C
Only once did I get a repeat offender. Yikes.
B
Yeah, I lost mine once and my dad says I'm gonna replace it once. And then after that, it's your hundred dollars.
C
So is that the thing that has the.
B
Yes, it's the copy of your top impression of your.
A
Yeah.
B
Roof of your mouth and the wires.
C
Okay. Well, what would you know if the lady that retrieved the dentures from the toilet pit. Do you. Can you sterilize them with.
B
I would. I would take them to the dentist.
A
Exactly.
B
Yes. And they would put them in that machine where they sterilize the instruments.
A
I would take them to the dentist, too. And go do whatever you have to do here again.
C
Well, we're sending them to Chernobyl. We're gonna kill everything on it. We forgot to do today in history.
A
As a matter of fact, I would take them to the dentist and go, tell me, I want you to take these, clean them and. But tell me you threw them away and you're giving me a new.
B
Yeah,
C
let's see now.
A
What is today? The 13th of July.
C
Okay, I gotta dig this up. 13th of July. Okay, here we go. Got some cool stuff going on. Happy birthday, Julius Caesar.
A
Ah, yes. Thank you for the salad.
C
Yeah. Inventor of salad. And the founder, of course, of Orange Julius.
D
Yes.
A
And the section. Let's not forget that.
C
A fashion icon known for his dressing. I don't know much about Julius Caesar. Patrick Stewart, a guy who's made bald sexy. Don't you think?
D
Yeah.
C
Wouldn't he be in the Mount Rushmore of bald dudes?
B
Him. Stanley Tucci.
C
You got two more.
D
Tom.
B
Tom Griswold. Who would be another one, I think Yul Brenner.
A
You go. Dwayne Johnson. You go, Jason.
B
Yeah, there you go. Those are your other two.
A
Oh, okay.
B
Yeah.
C
Let's see. Happy birthday. Harrison Ford, fine actor.
B
Oh, love him in shrinking.
A
You know, Sam Neill passed away, the great actor. And he was, of course, probably most famous for Jurassic Park.
B
Yeah.
A
I recently read Spielberg said that they offered it to Harrison Ford. He said no.
C
Oh.
A
And they all. And everybody. Harrison Spielberg. They all admit it's a better movie for him, saying no.
B
Yeah, for sure.
A
Sam Neill. Nailed it.
C
Let's see now. Oh, I love this guy. Cheech Marin. Happy birthday, Cheech. Dave's not here, man. And Cheech is an expert on. On art.
B
Yeah.
C
Particularly art of a Mexican heritage.
A
He would usually clean up on Celebrity Jeopardy too.
C
Yeah, he's a real bright guy.
A
Yeah, yeah.
C
He's been here a couple times. A very nice guy, too. Happy birthday. Cameron Crow. Do you know who that is, Ms. Hooker?
B
Yeah. A director.
C
Yeah.
B
Titanic.
C
He wrote the book Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
A
James Cameron.
C
Oh, and he wrote. He. He directed the movie Always so Close.
A
Oh, he did Almost Famous. He did Vanilla Sky.
B
Okay.
C
He's got a biography autobiograph out. It's very good. You'll know who this is. Happy birthday, Tom Kenny.
B
Tom Kenny got the greatest.
C
Greatest gig in the world, Patrick.
B
Oh, yeah. SpongeBob voice actor.
C
Okay, that's great because nobody knows who you are. You're making great money.
B
Yeah.
C
You can live your life. Friend of the show. Ken Jeong, actual physician and actor.
A
Do you know his real name is full name Ken Jong Un, but He dropped it.
C
Kenjong 3. Yeah, he's. He's the guy that gets out of the back of it. Was it limo naked? Yeah. And that was. We. He tells that story. That was his idea.
B
Yeah.
C
They were filming that and he said, wouldn't it be funnier if. When they pulled me out of the trunk, I was naked and they said, okay, but then they immediately. Some legal guy walked up to him and they had. He had to fill out a special form. I guess if you're going to be completely naked in a movie, you have to. They want it in. In writing.
B
You think writers and directors like that. When actors go, you know, it would be funnier.
C
Well, when it. I think when it is funnier.
B
Yeah. You can't really.
C
Which in this case, it certainly was. Now, this isn't fair. Happy birthday, Jean Luc Picard.
A
That's not fair. He. I didn't know Jean Luc Picard shared a birthday with Patrick Stewart.
C
Except it's in2305.
A
Right.
B
So that's the character he played.
C
Yeah.
B
Okay.
C
And so obviously we haven't gotten there yet. Odds are we won't. Although it's interesting to know that in the future, you'd think hair regrowth, they would have figured it out by then.
A
That's. He knew how sexy he looked.
B
Yeah.
C
That's really discouraging, though, that I was hoping they'd come up with it, you know, this week. Okay. The Hollywood sign originated on this date. Do you remember? And in the. In the beginning, it was Hollywoodland.
A
Right.
C
It was a real estate place. Not really. I mean, it's kind of cool, I guess.
A
And then it burned, and then they just went up. Do they know how it burned? Was it arson or an accident? I'd have to look that up.
D
I don't know.
C
On this date in 1934, Babe Ruth hit his 700th home run in one
A
season, which is really remarkable.
C
Do you know. Do you know what his nickname was?
B
Yeah, The Great Bambino.
A
That's one of them for sure.
C
The Sultan of Swat.
B
Yes.
C
Which is a great.
B
The Titan of Terror.
C
I don't know about that.
B
That's in the sandlot.
C
Let's see now. Live Aid, 1985, Wembley Stadium and JFK Stadium. Is that right? The benefit. Famous.
A
Yeah.
C
One of the most famous benefits of all time.
A
Bob Geldoff.
C
Yeah, yeah. He was. He headed it up with his band. They did that hit song, I Don't like Mondays.
A
Right, right. What are they called? Boomtown Rats.
D
Yes.
C
The Boomtown Rats is his band. Yeah, but they were one of the bands. But they were. Everybody else on Earth was in.
A
Yeah. Nobody went to see the boomtown
C
in 1990. In this date, the movie Ghost opened in the theater.
A
I need to see it again. I've only. I only saw it when it first came out on vhs.
B
I saw it in the theaters.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
Is it one of your faves?
B
It was so. I was. I was young.
A
I think I was too young to appreciate.
B
I was, too, but our dad took us to the movies once a week, and for some reason, he chose that one. And I just remember it was so emotional. And then the scary guys on the train, like the.
A
Yeah, the shadowy dudes.
B
Yes.
A
That pull you into.
B
Yeah. Do you remember the guy screaming on the train?
A
Oh, it's.
B
Who is that? You know, the actor.
A
Yes.
B
I can't. I. That guy's scary.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
C
Well, now we can return to the news desk. What have you got over there?
B
We have. Oh. Martha lillard, the last u. S. Polio patient who used an iron lung has died.
A
Wow.
D
Martha.
B
Polio.
C
Wow.
A
I was playing too traditional by going live.
B
Yeah.
C
Yeah. Kids in wheelchair, chairs in a pool. Nothing but comedy there.
B
Ms. Lillard passed away on June 26th in Oklahoma at the age of 78.
A
Oh, younger than I would have thought.
C
Yeah.
B
Ms. Lillard was diagnosed with polio at the age of five. She slept in an iron lung cylinder that encased her body as the air pressure in the chamber forced air in and out of her lungs.
D
Yeah. I guess she wasn't playing a lot of Marco polo.
C
Can you smoke in one of those?
B
No, I don't think so.
A
I think you can. Hot.
D
Hot box.
B
Yeah.
C
Now, in all truth, my father was. Was in one. My father had polio. I've talked about it before.
A
Now is your face exposed?
C
Yes.
A
Yeah. Okay.
C
He was, in fact, in an iron lung for a while.
A
Yeah.
B
As an adult.
C
Yeah.
A
Is it 24? 7?
C
I don't know. The.
B
They talk about this here. However, for the past two years, she was in the iron lung nearly 24 hours a day. Wow. Yeah.
A
That's tough, man.
B
Yeah, that's awful.
C
But, I mean, they say it's the last one.
B
Yes.
C
Because they thought polio had been pretty much eradicated, but it's about to make a big comeback.
B
Surprise.
C
Because granola mom's not gonna let little Aiden get a vaccination. Iron lung. The least interesting of the avengers characters.
D
Oh, yeah.
A
Are you gonna do something or what?
B
So they bring that into your house and, like, set it up. Is that what they did with your
A
dad, like, in the big lebowski?
B
Yeah. Yes.
C
Yeah.
B
Wow.
C
Yeah. It looks like one of those things they put entries, entry tickets into, and they spin around.
B
Yeah. The game wheel thing.
C
Yeah, they tried. Did you ever see the show ironside?
B
No.
C
With Raymond burr. He was A detective in a wheelchair.
B
Yeah.
C
Yeah. They tried to do a sequel called Iron Long.
B
How'd that go?
C
It didn't go well.
A
This week's episode, the Staircase.
C
That guy Mark, wheeling him around,
A
Solving
C
crimes while struggling to breathe. Right now, this portion of our program is brought to you by nhtsa. What is nhtsa? NHTSA is all about warning you about speeding. If you speed and you drive, you've got less time to react to whatever's coming across your path. Obviously, a sharp turn could take you by surprise. You could veer off the road and hit something. Another car could turn in front of you, leading to a fender bender. Because you're going too fast, truck could break, suddenly injuring you and the other driver. So NHTSA says slow down. A pedestrian could be walking their dog. With your foot in the gas. That could lead to tragedy. So be careful out there. You may not think these things could happen to you, but they happen every day. You don't always see it coming. So when you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. It just takes an instant for disaster to strike. NHTSA reminds you the speed limit isn't just there to protect you, it's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and everyone sharing the road. So slow down, obey the law and help keep everybody around you safe. Speeding catches up with you. Paid for by NHTSA. What's coming up in the news, Ms. Hooker?
B
We have a drunk truck, truck driver. Somebody found twelve thousand dollar cash at a restaurant.
A
Wow.
B
And something happened on a plane. I can't remember this story. I don't know what happened.
C
Oh, it's awful.
B
Oh, yes.
C
Large commercial aircraft. The window popped open.
B
That's no good.
C
If there'd been a dog in the airplane, he would have just stuck his head. Hey, cool. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
A
Hey, it's the Bob and Tom Show. My gosh. Thank you for being here with us. We are live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker is at the news desk.
B
Hello.
A
Jeff Oskay's at the NHTSA sports desk. Yes. Ace Cosby's at the engineering board. I'm Josh Arnold and there's Tom Griswold.
C
Okay. I got something for you.
A
Please.
C
We had this news story this morning. The guy's gonna be okay, apparently. Although I wouldn't care because it's so funny. Anyway, this guy, this guy is goofy looking guy. We're in suspenders. He's At Yellowstone with his grandson apparently great grandfather taking pictures of a gigantic bison. The bison ends up running at him and he's running in and out of the woods and all of a sudden you see the bison flip its head and this guy goes flying into the air. Dear Bob and Tom show as the kids would say. That guy was yeeted.
D
Yeah.
C
Y E E T E D. You want to explain it to me, Mr. Osuke?
D
It just means to toss something or throw. Right, Jess?
B
Yeet. Skirt. Skirt. Yeah, yeah.
C
What does that come from?
B
It's a song. It's. It's in a movie.
A
Is yeet the same as skeet?
D
No. Or. I don't think my kids don't use it the same.
A
Okay.
B
It's. It. I've always known. It is like, like I don't. Like, like you're. It's like yay. Like instead of saying yay, you'd go yeet. Yeah, yeah. It's.
C
Well, apparently he was yeeted and we've. Some guy apparently has t. Has done a freeze frame of this thing and colorized that. It's hysterical. This guy goes way up in the air and he's got his arms and legs. As Jeff said. It looks like he's doing the Freddy up there upside down. Apparently he's got a fractured femur.
B
Yeah, it was. Yeah. They. They said that's. That's his biggest injury apparently is the thing.
C
Yeah. So he's apparent. But apparently he's gonna recover. So it's. But it's well worth exploring if you get a chance. Just go. Yellowstone bison. Tourist flies.
B
Yeah.
A
And every definition you guys gave of yeet is a slang term used to express excitement or approval. So you're. Yeah, yeah. And then it can also mean to throw something with force and without regard for the object being thrown.
B
Oh, okay.
D
Okay.
B
So it's hard.
C
Yeah. He. This defines yeeted.
B
Yeah, that is for sure.
C
And that's from the Cowboy State Daily. That the article. Now what else have we got over there? Ms. Hooker?
B
I actually just did a little bit of research on my own about this. We've been talking about it on and off the air. The butter dipped ice cream cone. It's. I think I can do it. I think I could pull it off here.
A
Oh, this has been. It's a sort of the new thing at fairs this year.
B
Yeah, it's. It's viral too. A lot of people are trying it and doing it at home. I've made my own cherry dip. Like hardening, like. But it was real. It Wasn't the. The magic shell? Yeah, yeah. I've made that before and that was a success. But I think I can do the butter if you guys want to try.
A
Is it traditionally. I mean, I know it's new, but are people using vanilla ice cream?
B
Mostly vanilla ice cream. Yeah.
C
Butter. So this is like the chocolate dipped ice cream, except it's. But it can't be melted butter.
A
Right?
C
It'd be.
B
Well, that's the thing. Well, that's the thing. So you dip the ice cream, put it back into the freezer for 15 minutes so it gets really hard.
C
Oh.
B
So that's. So you're gonna put it in the ice cream cone first. Put it back in the freezer so it hardens. It's not soft at all. Take it out after 15 minutes. Then you're gonna dip it in semi, room temperature butter. So the butter is still liquefied, but it's. It's not hot.
A
I mean, I'm.
B
So as soon as you dip it in there, the butter is going to harden and stick around and is there's
C
a weird chemical reaction that makes this calorie free?
B
Yes, Definitely. Yes.
A
I'm gonna try this, but I don't. This doesn't sound.
C
I can't wait.
A
Interesting to me at all.
B
They say that the mixture of the vanilla flavor with the butter gives you a toffee flavor. So.
A
Which isn't my favorite anyway. So. Yeah, I don't think this is going to be for me like toffee. No.
D
What?
A
I don't. Oh, I'm completely indifferent to it.
B
Butterscotch.
A
Some.
C
Weren't you once rejected by a woman named Taffy?
A
Taffy didn't reject me so much as I just didn't have enough on me. Me.
C
I see.
A
I see. She was priced
C
well. Let's.
B
Yeah. So I think I'm gonna try it.
C
Okay, good. I'm looking forward to it.
D
Let's eat it.
A
Oh, yeah, I'm happy to try it, but.
B
Passengers aboard a Malta Air flight helped save a man who was partially sucked out of the window after it dislodged just minutes after takeoff from northern Greece.
A
Man, that would suck.
B
Literally.
A
And I don't mean that as a. Yeah, that. Boy, that would be awful. Awful.
B
Witnesses said they heard a loud bang. Oxygen masks dropped and the man's head and shoulders were pulled through the opening before nearby passengers grabbed him and pulled him back inside. Man.
D
What?
B
Yes. The 61 year old suffered neck and shoulder injuries along with friction burn houses.
A
Toupee.
B
Yeah, it's gone.
C
And it's this is like a regular plane. This isn't some old, it's really kind of scary.
A
Weird. That'd be so terrifying.
C
And I mean, obviously, as you said, they're, now they're telling people, make sure to keep your.
B
Yes.
C
Your seat belt on.
B
Yes. The airline has not said what caused the window to come loose. U. S. Investigators say the crew reported an engine issue in cabin decompression. Aviation experts say that this incident is a reminder to keep your seat belt fastened whenever you are seated.
A
All right.
B
And check your windows.
C
Remember the story we had about the, the some flight was going just completely normal and all of a sudden it dropped. The plane, for whatever reason, dropped drastically.
B
Yeah. That's terrifying.
C
Yeah. People were scraping the ceiling off their head. But yeah, this is pretty scary.
B
I've never been on a plane where the oxygen masks have dropped. That would be terrifying by itself.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
C
I wish it had dropped on the one I took a few weeks ago because the guy next to me smelled so bad. Bad. Oh, is that, is that an option? Stewardess, this guy hasn't bathed in a couple of weeks. Could we get the. Okay. You had to be there.
B
You always sit next to the smelliest people.
C
I don't know what it is. And I'm an aisle guy.
B
Oh, okay.
C
Whenever possible.
B
Yeah. I'm not either.
C
Exit, lane and aisle. The perfect seat.
B
Yeah, I, I, something goes wrong, I
C
control over these two dudes and get the hell on here.
B
Yeah, no, I'm all, I, I'll prefer window every time.
C
Really.
B
Yeah, same.
C
Yeah, but if you have to go to the bathroom though, and then I don't.
B
I make it. I make it. I mean, if I have to go to the bathroom on a plane, it's a long flight because I'll hold it. No way. I, I don't. The idea of going in that bathroom just freaks me out.
C
Have you ever been in a situation where you're looking at going, dear God, turn the seat belt light off. If I don't go to the bathroom right now, there's going to be a problem.
B
Yeah, I've, I've been there. But, but yeah, I just, I don't, if I don't, if I, if I can hold it, I will. Yeah, Yeah.
C
I just don't hydrate.
B
Yeah, exactly. Which is also bad because you're supposed to hydrate more when you fly.
C
And I was just on a, you know, the last week where I had that situation in which. Yes, we were sitting in the airport from 11 o'. Clock. No, wait a minute. Yeah. 11 o' clock in the morning until seven. Before they canceled the flight. So the whole time I wasn't. I was literally not hydrating because we're gonna get in the plane soon.
A
Soon.
C
We're getting the plane soon.
B
Yeah.
C
That didn't happen.
B
No.
C
All right. Okay. What else you got over there?
B
A South Carolina restaurateer says he was shocked to find $12,000 hidden in a cabinet left behind by the shop's former owner. Oh, Mr. Sack. Yoon June Tuk. Oh, that's exactly how it's pronounced. So I'm owner of the Lemongrass, Vietnamese pho, and Thai cuisine.
C
Oh, you pronounce it Phoenix.
A
It is pronounced fa, even though it's spelled foe. Yeah.
B
Yeah, it is. Joshi taught me that. They told WLBT3 that he happened to be looking through some old furniture and discovered a sunglasses case stuffed with hundred dollar bills inside.
D
Wow.
A
12 grand worth.
B
Yeah. He immediately set out to try and contact the previous owner and was eventually able to return the cash. The good deed has earned him recognition around Myrtle Beach.
C
How about a little taste?
B
Yeah, no kidding.
A
Don't you peel? I think. I think if I were the owner, I'd peel two grand off the top and give it immediately.
B
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
C
Oh, I mean, if you were the rightful owner of the money.
B
Yes.
A
Yep.
C
It also depends what kind of restaurant it was prior to that. You know what I'm saying?
B
If it was, it sounds like a front.
C
You know, Sells, right?
D
Oh, yeah.
C
Sells mob cuisine.
A
Yeah.
C
Yeah.
D
He's getting all 12,000.
A
Yeah.
B
You keep it.
A
In fact, I would give him 13. Yeah.
C
12,000 bucks?
B
Yeah.
C
Wow.
D
And I'm happy when I find five bucks in the dryer. I can't imagine 12,000.
B
What would you do? Would you return it?
D
Yeah.
B
You would.
C
But, I mean, it was just. It could have been a customer, maybe.
B
No, he said it was the previous owner. I feel like I. If I found that, I'd be like, hey, previous owner, can you hear me?
A
Yeah, Yeah, I wouldn't try. I would try too hard.
C
Hey, previous owner put an ad in
A
a paper in a different country, and I get voicemail. I'm not leaving them.
D
I tried.
A
Yeah.
C
Hmm. Okay.
B
Yeah. I've never found a bunch of money, like I said.
A
I mean, I found $900 once in a movie theater that I was an usher in.
B
Whoa.
A
And I held onto it in my head. I went, I'm not taking it, but I'm going to keep it in my glove compartment for a week. And if nobody comes back for this, what I should have done what I was. What I was supposed to do, what I was trained to do, was you turn it in.
B
Right, right.
C
And.
A
But in this case, I. When I'm not doing that, I'm going to keep this in my car for a week. And if nobody comes back. The last day, an old man came in and he said, did anybody find a large sum of money? And I said, I did. I'll be right back. And I went out the. I exited the back of the building. So he didn't see me go out front into my car.
B
Right, right.
A
And ran around the movie theater, got it, and came back in through the back. And I said, here's your money. He grabbed it. It didn't say a word, turned around and walked up. No, thank you. Nothing. But I get. I. Yeah, yeah. I was happy he got. Because for all I know, the guy had the cash because he needed some
B
medicine that may have been his disability check or something. Yeah.
A
So I. Thank you. Would have been nice.
B
Yeah, no kidding.
C
I found in the. Let's see, what it would have been the late 70s. I was at a post office in Orlando, Florida. Got out of my car. There was no one else around. There was a $100 bill on the ground.
A
Yeah.
C
I'd never even seen a $100 bill. So I did the honest thing and pocketed it.
B
Yeah, yeah.
C
I mean, in that case, however, this story has a. Has a tail end. A couple weeks later, I was at the same post office, and a guy opened his door as I was pulling in and did several hundred dollars worth of damage to the side of my car. So, yeah, I should have left the hundred bucks in the car.
D
Take 100.
C
What, did you walk into the post office? Hey, there's a hundred dollar bill in your parking lot.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay, we'll make sure this. Yeah, yeah.
B
Who's that gonna get to?
C
Yeah.
B
Oh, my dad gave me the. I just got my driver's license, and my dad gave me a hundred dollar bill. And literally, you get milk and bread. And he stood there with the $100 bill. He said, do not lose this. You get milk and bread, and you come straight back. I got to the grocery store and I couldn't find that hundred dollar bill, and I panicked. Like, I started going through. I had just got my driver's license. There was no money in this car. Like, I couldn't even, like, scratch up coins or anything. And I had to go home and tell my dad that I lost that hundred dollar bill.
A
No idea where it went?
B
No. From home to the grocery store.
C
I thought you were gonna say, if that happened today, it would be the milk or bread one. You couldn't. You couldn't pay for. Couldn't pay for both of them.
B
Yeah, my dad still tells that story.
A
Oh, so.
C
See, he got some mileage out of it.
B
Yeah.
C
I bet he's still pissed.
B
He is still pissed. Very much.
C
Have you. What is the movie where they. A Simple Plan. Have you ever seen that movie?
B
No.
C
Great movie.
B
Okay.
C
Billy Bob Thornton.
B
Oh, I love him.
C
Oh, he's wonderful in it. And it's. They. They stumble upon a private plane with a great deal of cash in it.
B
Okay.
C
And I'll have to look it up. It's terrific. It's called A Simple Plan. Wonderful movie. It's probably from, what, 2000 maybe.
B
Yeah.
C
I give it a double thumbs up.
B
Okay. I'll check it out.
C
Yeah. When we come back. What have you got over there?
B
We have. Have a. Unfortunately, a drunk truck driver.
A
Yeah, semi.
C
Yeah, we also have a. You mean a semi drunk?
D
Yes,
C
he's only partially all the way drunk. Okay, okay. Sorry. Then he's not semi drunk. Also, we have the banana car back in the news. And we. We have a. I think we have. Did you have the giraffe story?
B
I don't.
C
Oh, okay. I'll take it up. It's very funny Right now. Hey, it's the Bob and Tom show live from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker's at the news desk.
B
Hello.
A
Jeff Osk is at the NHTSA sports desk. Hey, man, Ace Cosby's there. Hey, I'm Josh Arnold. There's Tom.
C
We, I want to get a late letter in.
A
All right.
C
We were talking about this the other day. We were talking about something called snuff.
B
Yeah.
C
Which I guess is. Is it a powdered tobacco?
A
Yeah.
B
Is it dehydrated and then powder form?
A
Seems like it to me. Or, or even just leaf like.
B
Oh, really?
A
Almost like chewing tobacco, but maybe finer.
C
But it goes in the, in the nasal passages.
A
Yeah. They would take a pinch of it out of their snuffed her.
C
And this comes to us from Dana. When I was 10, my grandfather always chewed tobacco. His favorite was called wintergreen.
A
Oh, yeah.
C
Being an adventurous 10 year old girl, I took a huge pinch of it.
B
Oh.
C
Shoved it in my mouth and promptly threw up for quite a long time.
A
Oh, I bet.
D
Yeah.
B
Same girl.
D
Same.
C
My grandfather thought it was hilarious.
B
We were on a boat when I tried it for the first time.
A
Oh, yeah.
D
I was at my brother's t ball game and the guy next to me was eating beechnut.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah.
D
Or not eating, but chewing beef. And I was like, oh, can I have some of that? And he goes, ask your dad. My dad goes, goes, knock yourself out. And I sat there with it in my cheek for like five minutes and they go, why aren't you spitting?
A
And I go, what? Oh, no.
D
They go, oh, you're gonna end immediately. I was behind the bleachers the rest
A
of the game just vomiting. I'd like to spit some beach nut and that dude's eye in the country.
C
Love that line. I grew up in the 60s. My great grandmother always carried a tin of snuff and would use it throughout the day. Great grandmother, great grandmother. Oh, wow. My understanding is that women of those times used it to, quote, energize periodically during their busy days.
B
Yeah. Nicotine, they say, can do that. Yeah.
A
If I had a cigarette right now, I would have the biggest buzz. I've always gotten a huge buzz off of.
C
Yeah. But with this. Wouldn't the residue of this stay in your nasal passages?
A
I'm guessing it can't be good for you.
B
No, it's as good as any other tobacco.
C
And would you blow your nose? And would it be kind of a.
B
Probably like you've been welding?
C
I don't know. I.
A
After 20 years of doing it, you must look like the Crypt Keeper.
B
I want to say I'm curious.
C
I mean, would you get nasal cancer?
A
Yes. I guarantee it.
C
It. Oh, God. Okay. I wonder how. I wonder if it's declined in popularity.
B
I haven't. I've never seen anyone do it.
A
It has absolutely declined.
B
So, like, what do you do? Do you just put a bump on your. And just sniff it?
A
I know in movies and stuff I would see it because I've never seen it in real life.
B
Yeah.
A
But they would pinch it out of their little tin and put both fingers to their nose.
B
Okay. Maybe just line the. The. The inside of their nose. Okay.
C
Oh, God.
A
Baffling.
D
I don't even know where to get it.
B
I'm sure you can.
D
You get it at the gas, I guess.
A
I don't know.
B
At the gas or at the tobacco store, like, the real one.
A
You have to go to a fine tobacconist.
B
Yeah. It smells so good in there.
C
There was a really nice. I'm not kidding. A really nice tobacco store not too far from here.
A
It's.
C
It's gone now.
B
Yeah.
A
I love those places.
C
It was nice. It had a. It was. Had a great smell. And the main guy that worked there essentially had black teeth.
D
Oh, yeah.
A
Hey, you know, you don't want to. You don't want to eat at a place where they have skinny chefs. Right.
C
Okay.
A
What?
C
We have a happy news from the world of giraffes.
B
Oh, giraffes. Sure. A new study finds that giraffes can do simple math.
C
What?
B
Yes. Researchers presented four giraffes from the Barcelona Zoo with two containers containing different amounts of carrot pieces. All right. They then covered the containers, and the animals watched as the humans added or subtracted more carrot pieces to them.
A
Wow.
B
The giraffe selected the container with more carrot pieces over 65% of the time.
A
So they were able to figure it out. Oh, 65.
B
Yeah. So they. They're not very good at it.
A
That's really close to luck. Yes.
C
Well, they. Apparently giraffes weren't good enough at math to keep that. A certain toy. Toy store afloat.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. They're not great at accounting.
C
Yeah. This does seem to be kind of sketchy.
B
Yeah.
C
I mean, 65. So.
B
No, this isn't math.
C
I wonder if they could smell it.
A
Oh, smell that. One covered container had more than the other.
C
I assume that they thought of that.
B
They do have big nostrils.
C
I know. They're terrible. They're terrible at spelling.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
Oh, really?
C
They always get the R backwards. We're gonna keep with a theme of Toys R Us as long as long as I can keep on doing. But the. The better news in the world of giraffes is they found that giraffe two weeks ago that was in Texas that had run off. That girl giraffe run away?
B
Yeah.
C
Kind of a sweet story.
B
Was she alive?
A
Yeah, she was. She was in LA trying to get into movies. Yeah, but luckily they saved you, right? In the nick of time.
C
Of course, she had to resort to really Weinstein it. Take me, Harvey.
A
A giraffe walking off of a bus with a small suitcase. I'm gonna be a star.
C
What else you got over there?
B
Authorities in Arizona say a commercial truck driver was caught sipping red wine from a water bottle while driving a semi on a Phoenix freeway.
C
Was he sipping, not guzzling?
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah, he's an aristocrat.
C
So he was semi drunk again.
B
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Highway Patrol troopers responding to calls about a semi truck driving erratically on i10 witnessed the driver swerving across the lane.
C
Yikes.
B
When he was finally stopped, troopers reported finding bottles of red wine and a reusable water bottle containing red wine and in the cab.
D
Oh, so that's what the guy from UB40 is up to now.
A
Red wine.
B
The semi driver who registered a blood alcohol level of point two two seven was arrested for a dui. Who's that man?
A
Mary,
D
come on. Jack.
A
A. You said the red wine was a cat cab?
B
It was in the cab.
A
Oh, okay.
C
That pairs well with combos and gas station sushi. I've heard.
D
You suppose I have combos in the door of my car right now?
B
Do you really?
D
Yeah, for my road trip. And yesterday I got out. I go, oh, I wonder if those are still good. Put one. No.
C
Nope.
D
No, they weren't.
A
They're only good on the road trip.
D
Yep.
A
I love combos on a road trip. What's your go to combo?
D
I go classic. I go pretzel with cheese.
A
That's. I'm. Same. Yeah.
C
What are the options?
A
People are big on pizza.
B
Yeah, Pizza is the go to even.
A
And the tiny. The combos have tiny pepperoni on the end. They do on the ends of each one.
C
What are the Things that are like pretzels with peanut butter inside them.
A
There are different kinds. Combos are similar. Yeah, I don't know that they have a peanut butter.
B
Combos are barrel shaped and open on both ends with what seems like a spray cheese consistency.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
C
Oh, I'm out.
A
Oh, they're great.
C
Do you ever take that spray cheese and tilt your head back and just squirt it in your mouth?
D
Yes.
A
Oh, I don't like it.
D
Oh, really?
A
Yeah, I know, I know. The combo cheese I can have. I don't like spray cheese. I've never have, even as a kid.
C
Does the spray cheese come with the marijuana when you buy?
B
No combo flavors right now. There's the original. There's cheddar cheese. There's pizza. There's pepperoni only.
A
Okay.
B
Buffalo blue cheese.
C
Wow.
B
And nacho cheese.
A
All right.
B
Yeah.
C
Blue cheese.
B
Yeah. The buffalo blue cheese is new.
A
I think you guys remember the pack of crackers and cheese where the cheese was in a cup and you had the red splurge?
B
Yes.
C
That red little red stick.
A
Never really loved that either.
D
Yeah.
B
Like a club cracker.
A
Right.
D
But we never got them. So when, like, I could talk someone at school into trading me.
A
Right.
D
The crackers with the cheese, with the stick.
A
Oh, same.
D
I thought.
C
I loved that.
A
They were a treat and I. The getting them was a treat, but they weren't. They never. They were always disappointed.
C
I think for me it was a. It was a process.
A
That was. It was kind of just the bendy red spreader.
B
Another part of living with a single dad is like. We were like, hey, we want these, we want these. And my dad comes home with a box of club crackers and a half gallon of port wine cheese. He's like, here you go.
D
Yeah.
B
This is not the same.
A
This isn't the same.
B
No.
C
It's like when I was a kid and I always wanted to have a TV dinner.
B
Yeah.
C
So my mother cooked a regular dinner, then put it in a tin thing with.
B
I love that, though.
D
That is awesome.
B
That's true. Yeah.
D
No, that's cool.
C
Yeah. But. And TV dinners have certainly come a long way. And if nothing else, we got the great song from ZZ Top out of it. Yes.
A
Yes.
C
I love those guys. Guys, I just love that band. Yeah. The old TV dinner. They used to be frozen solid.
A
And what was.
B
So what would your mom put in yours? What did you like?
C
Chicken.
B
Okay.
C
Mashed potatoes and corn.
A
Would you get an apple crisp?
C
Yeah. What I liked about him was, and my mother would make a fresh apple crisp. What I liked about him was everything was separated.
B
Yeah.
C
When I was a kid, if the corn touched the mashed potatoes, I was out.
B
You wouldn't do it.
C
Which I. If, if I had, my father should have hit me with his cane.
A
Yeah.
C
In retrospect, I know an adult, actually, who is that way still. Yes. Nothing can touch anything else.
A
No kidding.
B
I wonder what that's about. I can't imagine because there's times where I'm just all of it together.
A
Right.
B
Yeah.
C
And they always say the same, you know, it always ends up in the same place. Yeah. Okay.
A
My dad was big on that, but he was gross. He'd have still have a mouthful of spaghetti and then start drinking his mil. Like, what are you doing? It all goes in the same place. All right.
C

This episode showcases the hallmark BOB & TOM Show blend: offbeat humor, playful gender debates, interactive quizzes, and conversational deep dives into everything from DIY malfunctions, pop culture, and odd news to vintage appliances and animal attacks. The main thematic thread is a “Men vs. Women” knowledge quiz, with hosts challenging each other (and listeners) on stuff “every woman should know” (but men don’t), and vice versa. Additional segments include listener stories, sports talk, outrageous news items, and running jokes involving food, tools, and bodily mishaps.
Theme:
Playfully debunking gender stereotypes by having Jess Hooker (filling in for Christy Lee) and the guys (Josh Arnold, Tom Griswold, Jeff Oskay, Ace Cosby) quiz each other on “gendered” knowledge.
The Gender Quiz Origin (07:13)
Jess shares the quiz she gave the guys: “These are things that all women should know that men probably don’t.”
