Bob Kevoian
It's the bob and tom show. Boy, this week in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky sure has a lot of dummies in town. It's the annual ventriloquist convention for 400 people. And plenty of wooden heads have gathered for the annual do serious business though. There are seminars on ventriloquism history, creating character voices and making and manipulating your figures. Making them do your bidding.
Tom Griswold
Manipulating your figures. How to pick up girls with a dummy.
Bob Kevoian
Ventriloquist convention.
Tom Griswold
Morning, Bob and Tom Show. I'm sorry, what?
Jeff Oskay
Did you say.
Ali Breen
Something?
Bob Kevoian
Kentucky. I got that much.
Tom Griswold
Or are you calling from the ventral? From the ventriloquism convention.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And I'm not reading my lips. I can tell. We can tell.
Tom Griswold
I can tell. Your lips are pretty. Pretty still there. What's your name? My name is Jimmy.
Ace Cosby
Jimmy.
Tom Griswold
Jimmy. Jimmy.
Bob Kevoian
Huh? It's Jimmy. Judy. No, it's Judy.
Jess Hooker
Jerry.
Tom Griswold
Jerry.
Bob Kevoian
Jerry. What's the name of your.
Tom Griswold
Jerry, what's the name of your partner?
Ali Breen
Timmy. Timmy.
Jeff Oskay
Hey.
Bob Kevoian
Julie
Tom Griswold
continues to be speaking to the phone. Hand in the phone.
Bob Kevoian
Hang on a minute. Okay. And now I'd like to present my partner, Timmy. If only we can see this great eye. So Timmy is the dummy?
Tom Griswold
He's the dummy. Oh, you're not the dummy. He's the dummy. Oh, you guys are so funny.
Josh Arnold
Boy, that's great.
Jeff Oskay
You are drinking level water while talking to you.
Bob Kevoian
You're gonna drink some water.
Tom Griswold
Drink some water while talking to us.
Jeff Oskay
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Okay, Go ahead. Timmy. Could we. Could we speak to Jerry again?
Bob Kevoian
Jerry, I'll have to call you back. I'll have to call you back. We have an update on that, actually. If you're a ventriloquist, big doings starting today. Yes, hello, from the O'Reilly Hollow Parts Studios. It's the Bob and Tom Show. Christy Lee on vacation. Jess Hooker under the weather at the news desk.
Tom Griswold
You forgot about Godwin.
Bob Kevoian
Godwin. He still worker has a shoulder boo boo at the news desk. Jeff Oskay.
Tom Griswold
This is going to be interesting.
Bob Kevoian
This is going to be something else. There's Josh Arnold. Hi. There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick McGee. And you did. Have you seen the ventriloquist convention?
Tom Griswold
I'm looking at the countdown clock. Yeah, it starts in 7 hours, 56 minutes and 56 seconds.
Ace Cosby
Oh, you're kidding.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. At the Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport this weekend. Guests and headliners, the 50th anniversary of the convention. Featured performances and lectures by Jeff Dunham, Darcy Lynn, Willie Tyler and Lester.
Tom Griswold
I love those guys.
Bob Kevoian
And Jay Johnson from Soap.
Ace Cosby
I, I, Jay Johnson is my favorite.
Bob Kevoian
And if you haven't seen the video where they do the mind reading where
Ace Cosby
they, they blindfold Bob.
Bob Kevoian
They blindfold Bob the dummy. And he guess what item I hold. He's holding on soap. I get so excited about it. Oh, gosh, it's wonderful. It's red. Is it an apple?
Ace Cosby
Oh, my God.
Bob Kevoian
That's amazing. Yeah, so it's, it's wonderful.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that's great.
Ace Cosby
We're sitting on a gold mine here.
Tom Griswold
That'll be fun. Jeff Dunham, friend of the show. He's been in here with puppets. That'll be really cool.
Jeff Oskay
Lots of hands and asses.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, look at it that way.
Bob Kevoian
That's what's from the news desk.
Tom Griswold
I've got, I've got stacks of mail. I don't even know where to start. There is so much going on.
Bob Kevoian
Did you hear about the Norway guy? The Erling Holland, the big blondes guy from Norway, the striker in the World cup soccer competition.
Ace Cosby
Took the world by storm.
Bob Kevoian
Took the world by.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, very Norwegian.
Jeff Oskay
Look.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, he is a beautiful blonde, striking the, the striking Viking is what they were calling him. And he, he got home a couple days ago to Oslo because Norway came up a little short. World Cup. When he got off the plane, he had a, he didn't have a World cup, obviously, but he did have the trophy of souvenirs. A taxidermy raccoon holding an empty bottle of booze.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Ace Cosby
Where did he get this?
Bob Kevoian
And the Internet quickly identified Wild Bill's western store in Dallas where Norway played. That's who was selling them. There he is with his raccoon.
Ace Cosby
Awesome.
Bob Kevoian
And Julie Newport, the store's co owner, said, we sold very few, very few of these because they're about 750 bucks.
Tom Griswold
That's a genuine dead raccoon.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Oh, taxiderm holding taxidermied and holding a bottle of booze. And that's him getting off the plane in Oslo.
Tom Griswold
And they're getting off the plane the old fashioned way.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah. Stairway at Idlewild. Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I, I got. When I flew to the Bahamas, I flew to Eleuthera. And they don't have, they don't have much there. I was in a trailer for seven hours there. But yeah, you get on and off the planes with the stairway. So every time I do that, as soon as you get off the plane, you're. You're on the platform at the top of the stairs. You have to go like this and wave.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Like you're the Beatles getting off At Idlewild.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. It was Idle Wild at the time when they got there, Right? Yeah. It wasn't jfk.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Because. Yeah, he wasn't dead yet. Wait a minute.
Josh Arnold
Was it.
Tom Griswold
Well, that's a good question.
Ace Cosby
It was close, wasn't it? Same year. All.
Tom Griswold
I always remember Idle Wild because of the song, the theme song to Car, car 54, where are you?
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Khrushchev, Stewart, idle wild.
Bob Kevoian
Car 54, where are you? The Beatles landed February of 64, right.
Tom Griswold
I don't know when they. It's a good question. I don't know when they changed the name, you see, that they decided they're not going to rename the airport at Nantucket.
Bob Kevoian
JFK Jr oh, we're getting scattered laughter from backstage. Is that right?
Tom Griswold
I'm sorry. It was my fault. I told him to fly.
Bob Kevoian
If you and your sister don't shut up, I'm gonna crash this plane right into.
Jeff Oskay
Well, where you flew into. I'm surprised they even had steps they brought up. They didn't just have like an extension ladder. They laid up against the plane.
Tom Griswold
No kidding. Because the big jets could land there, but they have no lights. So what happened? So at 7 o' clock in the evening, they said, well, we're stuck.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Tom Griswold
The pilot was not.
Bob Kevoian
Well. We used to go for the super bowl for like a decade.
Tom Griswold
The airport had Nassau, this is true.
Bob Kevoian
Nassau. It had an abandoned. It wasn't wrecked, but it looked like it might be wrecked because weeds is growing up around it. It was an airplane just. It was just off the.
Tom Griswold
It was like the corpse of an airplane.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Halfway down the Runway.
Bob Kevoian
So you're landing and remember that one year we had that. Wham. That land that we had. It was unbelievable.
Tom Griswold
One thing I remember, we were. We got off at the NASA airport and they did have a Jetway, except they had not opened the Jetway on the other side. Remember this? And it was about 150 degrees.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
We were all frying.
Bob Kevoian
So you go from.
Tom Griswold
Someone's going, hey, are they going to open this GD door?
Bob Kevoian
We're off. We're off the plane. We're laying everybody's.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. And it's like, why are these people? And when then we're all like in a tuna can waiting for them. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
That was rough.
Bob Kevoian
It was awful.
Tom Griswold
But the other thing I remember was entering the country and you go through. You go through immigration and customs and all that. And I had a bag of protein powder.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And I realized, wait a minute. My. In my hand, this is.
Bob Kevoian
It was a light Brown powder.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
I'm gonna.
Tom Griswold
I'm gonna be getting sodomized by a guy who's a Marcus Garvey fan in a minute here.
Bob Kevoian
Amen.
Tom Griswold
But they did have some convenient waste baskets. I dumped it before we went through.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Is that the. Is that the time when we. Someone from our group climbed onto the conveyor belt and baggage. And baggage. And went around and.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Came. Went back into the back, then came around and came through.
Ace Cosby
I love it.
Tom Griswold
Not a good idea.
Bob Kevoian
This was also the trip that Tom and I were waiting at the baggage claim, and a couple of listeners came up and looked at Tom, and he was wearing his. His. What do you call that safari shirt you used to wear? Something like that or like an outback, you know, a khaki green look like
Tom Griswold
it looked like a correspondent.
Bob Kevoian
And the cargo shorts. And the guy comes up to Tom. Hey, Tom, what you doing? You on?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, they're handy.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Keep your passport in there, etc. Etc. Let's see now. Coming up, we have a little bit of a World cup update.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Another game today.
Bob Kevoian
Spain advances. England and Argentina play this afternoon in Atlanta. Then the championship on Sunday.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Last night I was having dinner, and I got talking to the waiter.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, and did you ask him where he's from or did you just say. I said, what are you.
Tom Griswold
No, I said, you rooting for Spain just based on his accent? He goes, no, I'm from Peru. Oh, I'm rooting for Argentina.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, okay. There you go.
Tom Griswold
The guy spoke great English, had a beautiful accent. In fact, I'm thinking of hiring him.
Ace Cosby
Do you think.
Tom Griswold
You don't think we need somebody that has a nice.
Bob Kevoian
Hey. I don't want to speak on behalf of the room, so I'll ask you. Are you guys up? Are you guys backing me on this? Will you stop hiring people?
Tom Griswold
Okay, sorry.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, somehow.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, one of us will kick soon enough.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, it's not going to be long. Hang on.
Ace Cosby
We're dropping like flies.
Tom Griswold
Talk about attrition coming up. We do have some airline news since we've been talking about that. Also today, a special double feature. Anyone want to know what it's about? Thanks for asking. It's double feature. It's today in history and yesterday in History.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Tom Griswold
We forgot to do today.
Bob Kevoian
I totally forgot it yesterday. You're right.
Tom Griswold
So we'll do Yesterday in History. So some really important stuff that we. That we may have missed today, by the way, if I'm not mistaken, yesterday, what was. It was national something. But today's National Hot Dog Day.
Bob Kevoian
What was yesterday?
Tom Griswold
It was a donut day or something.
Bob Kevoian
Or there was a donut race in Troy.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, there's this calendar that tells you what every important day is.
Ace Cosby
I don't know. Did we get to it?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I'll. I'll think of it. But we're looking forward to donut day.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah. Nude.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that's right. Nudist day.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. Nudist day. Naturalist day. Nature.
Tom Griswold
It'd be funny if they were the same day.
Ace Cosby
Nude and hot dog.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, you're walking around nude. How many guys, how many guys would order the foot long?
Bob Kevoian
No, this is.
Tom Griswold
No, they wouldn't want the foot long. Don't hold that down there.
Bob Kevoian
This has to happen. A new day. Hot dog day and donut day, right?
Ace Cosby
Oh, that's fair then.
Tom Griswold
You put the Freud day. You put the donut around the hot dog.
Bob Kevoian
Absolutely.
Tom Griswold
This is me and you. Later, honey.
Bob Kevoian
Squeeze the cream out.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. Very good. We nailed this. Oh, we should all go home now.
Bob Kevoian
This is a 24 carat break right here.
Tom Griswold
Right now. It's time to get away. I'm talking about the Hyundai getaway sales event. They call it that because you can get away with a deal. A deal. So right, it almost feels wrong. From Hyundai right now. Great deals on the most popular models, including the adventure ready SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe or the Santa Fe hybrid. Or the Tucson. Or the Tucson hybrid. Christy Lee, a huge fan of the hybrid. She says she gets about 35 miles per gallon. Plus also from Hyundai, the Elantra with the latest in technology and the all electric Ioniq 5 and the Ioniq 9. So check it out at your local Hyundai dealer and get away with the deal once you get it. It's so right, it almost feels wrong. From Hyundai. You'll love the Hyundai getaway sales event. It's happening right now. For more information, visit HyundaiUSA.com and get all the details. Also, I have a minor update, I think on the Typhoon May sack snake release. Remember the. Were you here for this chick?
Bob Kevoian
No.
Ace Cosby
It's funny.
Tom Griswold
Believe it or not, they have a terrifying. They have a breeding farm for snakes. And don't we have enough snakes?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, this is in China.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's in China. And this type of hit and nearly a thousand some venomous snakes were released. And there's some footage. I have a just a minor update coming up about that. Snake fans.
Ace Cosby
It looks like a raft of snakes floating on the water. And they were up like cobras.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, my God.
Tom Griswold
And they're rolling into town.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
Okay, cool. We'll be talking about that and many other things here on the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Jim Rome takes on sports.
Tom Griswold
I will always have a complicated relationship with this game, but people evolve. So do sports. Do not make me regret this. Do not make me devolve back to that guy that so many clones wish that I still was. And do not embarrass the entire country. Now I can go back. I can get there fast. Lose tonight and you got a real problem. Do not blow it.
Josh Arnold
The Jim Rome show podcast.
Tom Griswold
You've been warned.
Ace Cosby
Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jeff Oscar at the news desk.
Jeff Oskay
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Christy Lee on vacay. Jess Hooker a little under the weather. There's Josh Arnold.
Ace Cosby
Howdy.
Bob Kevoian
How do you do? There's Ace Cosby.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Hello. I'm Chick McGee over here at the sports desk. Brought to you by nhtsa. Hello, Tom.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Chick. I'll also point out Pat Godwin is also under the weather. Still recovering from his shoulder surgery.
Jeff Oskay
Poor buddy.
Tom Griswold
And you can still see him on his Dry bar comedy special.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Which is@drybar.com and on the app. Etc. Etc. Now, we have a lot to get to. We have some letters to get to. But before we do, I thought I would tell you about this. We were talking about this snake story. Chick, you weren't here for this, right? It was floodwaters triggered by Typhoon Mesac in China. It released an estimated 1,000 snakes, including venomous cobras. And as Josh said earlier, it looks like a raft going down the river. Do we have that video? There we go.
Ace Cosby
Look at these things.
Bob Kevoian
Holy hell.
Jeff Oskay
Snakes.
Tom Griswold
Those are snakes. It looks, it looks like a canoe, a giant stream of deadly snakes.
Ace Cosby
Cobras look like little, as Jess Hooker said, little Loch Nesses.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
They're popping up with their heads out of the water.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, my God.
Jess Hooker
This.
Tom Griswold
And this is from a. This is from a snake farm where they raise these things. And I was wondering, why on earth would you be raising snakes?
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
So I did a little homework. Snake farms very prominent in China because they're part of traditional Chinese medicine and have been for thousands of years. Gallbladders, livers, and skin from the reptiles is used to create supplements sold all around the world. Now, I don't know if you can go to gnc. Could I get the cobra liver powder? They also make snake wine. Snake wine, which is. Which is alleged by Chinese dudes to reduce the damage to your liver when you drink alcohol. By the way, if you'd like to buy some cobra venom. 450 bucks a gram.
Ace Cosby
Huh?
Tom Griswold
The snakes are also raised for meat and of course, for leather, if you will, Production for boots, belts, etc. Etc.
Bob Kevoian
So I could have a snake sandwich on rye with maybe.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, sure. I did come up with a jingle.
Ace Cosby
Oh, please.
Tom Griswold
Like a bad neighbor snake farm is
Ace Cosby
there no one wants to live next
Bob Kevoian
to that snake farm.
Ace Cosby
Yeah,
Tom Griswold
I can't believe I got this beautiful land. We're gonna be growing some soybeans. Hey, what does Farmer Chin do next door? Oh, he raises venomous cobras.
Ace Cosby
Is that right?
Tom Griswold
Oh, really?
Ace Cosby
Will you call the realtor?
Bob Kevoian
You want me to. Call me. You're gonna do that?
Tom Griswold
Old MacDonald had a farm E I E I O. And on that farm he had some snakes. What? Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, who's your car insurance with? Snake farm.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Anyway, that. That's the story on the snake farm. It makes me think of the song Sex Farm from Spinal Tap. Spinal Tap, Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Sex Farms working on the sex farm time now.
Ace Cosby
I introduced you to the guys by the song by Ray Wiley Hubbard. Snake Farm.
Bob Kevoian
I don't remember this.
Ace Cosby
It's a good one.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, it was a good.
Ace Cosby
Paul Thorne has a cover that Tom played.
Tom Griswold
But yeah, Paul Thorne has a great cover of this thing.
Bob Kevoian
Huh?
Ace Cosby
Well, you can't say that you haven't heard the original.
Tom Griswold
No, I'm talking. Paul Thorne's cover is great.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, but you don't know if it's a great cover because you haven't heard the original.
Tom Griswold
No, because he is.
Ace Cosby
His is the COVID But you don't know how. How well he's covering.
Tom Griswold
I didn't say it was better than the original. I said the COVID is original.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, are we having email from our listeners?
Tom Griswold
So this is like saying. This is like you could go see the movie Cape Fear, right, with Robert De Niro and say it's a great movie. It has no bearing.
Ace Cosby
It's a great remake.
Tom Griswold
Sure you can.
Bob Kevoian
I see.
Ace Cosby
Because you don't know how it's.
Bob Kevoian
I'm taking my life into my own hands to get in the middle of this. But I'm understanding what Josh is trying to say.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I do too. It's just a nuanced misinterpretation.
Ace Cosby
I understand what Tom is trying to say. It's just funny to argue.
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom show.
Ace Cosby
Yes, thank you.
Jeff Oskay
You.
Bob Kevoian
This. This is Steve from Utah. Hello, Steve. He has a brand new T shirt he just made he said, this is why the Internet is so great.
Ace Cosby
Immediately.
Bob Kevoian
That's the Yellowstone national park across the top, and that's the bison flipping the grandfather up in the air. And he's okay. Right.
Ace Cosby
It says, do not pet the fluffy cows. Right?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. There is an update on that guy here. I got it right here, as a of fact.
Bob Kevoian
Matter, matter of fact. Thank you, Steve from Utah.
Tom Griswold
His name is Carl McDaniel. He was there with his. With his grandson. According to cnn, he broke his femur in four places near his hip and suffered several bruises. He had surgery Sunday. He was able to stand up by Monday. And he's quoted as saying, I'll be doing physical therapy for the next few days to get to walk.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Tom Griswold
And he says, it's not as catastrophic as it could have been.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Now, how can this guy cash out? Because.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I'm predicting podcast. It used to be straight to morning radio.
Bob Kevoian
Right, Right. Right.
Tom Griswold
Now, I think it's. He'll be hosting a podcast with the hook to a girl, whatever her name was. What is she now? Is she.
Bob Kevoian
She tried a podcast. I'm not sure. Then she had a. Some kind of bitcoin problem, but I'm
Tom Griswold
not sure where she is now. She the ambassador to Brazil or something? She's got a good gig going.
Bob Kevoian
I gave her an ambassadorship. That's interesting.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And there's a video of this program as we were commenting on it. That's really funny.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
You can actually see the video and our interpretation of what's going on. But if you have. If you don't know what we're talking about. This guy, and he was perfectly innocent. They were pretty. They were like, what, 100ft away from this thing? Or 100 yards.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, it seemed like it, anyway. And the bison seemed distracted rolling around on the ground. And.
Tom Griswold
And it's. And they're at a campground. You see a car, a truck go between the two.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And then the bison. And they can run, I want to say, 35 miles an hour.
Ace Cosby
It's not like he was being an idiot trying to get a selfie right next to it.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
But you see him run into the woods, and then it. It's like. And then he's running around, and then when the bison flips him, the beauty of it is he is splayed out, and he goes all the way up, and it's the perfect angle. If you were trying to do a TV comedy, this is the shot. The guy that did the photography is amazing.
Bob Kevoian
He looked like a starfish.
Tom Griswold
And it's it is hilarious. I'm glad he's gonna be okay, but it's still very fun.
Jeff Oskay
And that bison could. Couldn't have put less effort into throwing him 30ft in the air.
Ace Cosby
Like swat and fly.
Jeff Oskay
It was so.
Tom Griswold
And as somebody pointed out, when the video starts, you can see the guy and his grandson relatively far, where they're taking a picture, and the bison's rolling in the dust.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
And then as I.
Josh Arnold
For.
Tom Griswold
Who said that?
Jeff Oskay
Was it you that said, oh, he's chalking up.
Tom Griswold
It looks like he's.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Chalking up like a gymnast ready to go.
Bob Kevoian
And the bison looked like when you brush something off your shoulder.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
When he flipped the guy in the air, it was like nothing to the bison.
Tom Griswold
Speaking of that sort of thing, I don't have the story in front of me, but I know yesterday was the last day at, what is it called? The Fairman.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, San Fermin Cheese Festival and the
Tom Griswold
Running of the Bulls.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. They had two more people gourd yesterday. Oh, yeah. Not fatally, but that's good. Earlier in the week, a guy got a horn in the face.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. In the face.
Tom Griswold
In the face. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And then in the face.
Tom Griswold
I mean, I remember one year, a guy got it in the rectum. Boy, that rectum nearly killed him.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I don't think anybody's died for a couple of years there. So that's good news. You got that. You got your. You got. Look at this. You got Spain winning.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
Which is huge. And then you got. The bull thing is over.
Bob Kevoian
I'm sorry. I'm still laughing at Snake Farm.
Tom Griswold
Also, we want to get to our letters there.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Dear Bob, at Tom show, particularly Chick, I will gladly be your gas boy if you're catching up to speed. A couple weeks ago, maybe a month ago now, I was getting gas in the car, and I tripped over a gas hose, and I honked my bobo. It's kind of painful.
Ace Cosby
Did you go down?
Bob Kevoian
I went down.
Ace Cosby
Oh, man.
Bob Kevoian
Down right to the pavement. And then yesterday morning, I stopped and got gas, and it came gushing out of the car and hit me in the shoe.
Tom Griswold
Did it ruin the shoes?
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Can you get that smell out?
Bob Kevoian
I. I don't think so. I made a kind of a. An anemic effort, but it's. You're still pretty aromatic, so that sounds
Tom Griswold
like something you need to Google. I bet there is a way, I
Jeff Oskay
think, if you just put them in a bag of rice.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, is that right?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, that'll fix.
Bob Kevoian
Is that right, smartass?
Tom Griswold
You set it on fire.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. Anyway, I will gladly be your gas boy chick. I will also buy your liquor and play euchre. Please, I need this to get me out of the damn house. I'm awaiting your call. That's from Kevin.
Tom Griswold
Well, I have another update. Yesterday we had a story about a. A dog, a beautiful black Labrador that had to be rescued. They were climbing the tallest mountain in England, which 18ft is called. No, that's, that's. That's in Florida. You ever see the bumper stickers in Florida? I climbed Mount Dora.
Ace Cosby
I have not seen that bumper.
Tom Griswold
The highest place in Florida. It's like four feet above sea level.
Bob Kevoian
That's pretty good.
Tom Griswold
In any event, they were climbing this mountain and the dog apparently got a hold of some THC infused something marijuana of some sort and the dog just went down. A 55 pound beautiful black lab. And there happened to be a training group nearby and there's, there's video of them taking this dog down the hill and the dog just looks, you know, looks like it looks like Willie at a fish concert. But I mentioned that I had purchased some. I guess it's c. Is it CBD infused dog biscuits from one of my dogs. Terrified of thunder and a fireworks. Just. So I talked to the vet and I got him these things and his name is Mr. Fletcher. I and I pointed out that I didn't see any ill effects from this except the fact that my doorbell rang and the guy goes, who ordered the snossage pizza? Dear Bob and Tom show. I'm assuming Tom's dog, Mr. Fletcher, puts on glasses like Mr. Ed when dialing the phone to order his sausage pizza. One of my favorite things in the Mr. Ed Show.
Bob Kevoian
That's a guy who listens to the show faithfully.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's. Thank you very much, sir. We'll call you Mr. G. I certainly appreciate that. Now your turn over there. What's going on?
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom show. For the past couple of days you guys talked about people and crowds having tendency to drift to the left.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Does this phenomenon exist south of the equator or does the walking and the crowd move to the right?
Tom Griswold
Very fair question.
Bob Kevoian
That's from John.
Tom Griswold
Really interesting study that they would, they would look at photographs of crowds and they just tend to veer to the left. It's not a political thing, it's just an oddity that they're exploring. Now what's coming up in the world of sports?
Bob Kevoian
We've got a World cup update for you. That's right. Spain advances yesterday. Major League Baseball All Star Game last night. I'll give you a hint. The American League. One for nothing. And the NBA is moving closer to.
Jess Hooker
Do you.
Bob Kevoian
You guys remember when I was a kid the All Star Game, Major League Baseball All Star Game especially was a big damn deal. Yeah, I remember it came to Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati in like 1970. Ish. And I lost my mind. No, I didn't. But it. I wanted to go. But it just doesn't All Star Games.
Ace Cosby
It does not.
Bob Kevoian
Baseball seems to be the closest something that would be interesting to watch as far as All Star Games go because football and pass.
Tom Griswold
But the NFL doesn't really have one anymore.
Ace Cosby
Arguably the baseball. The MLB All Star Game is the best game, but it is not. It does not seem to garner the attention. But once dead.
Bob Kevoian
No, not even a little bit.
Ace Cosby
They got to figure out what to do with it.
Tom Griswold
Well, the NBA's is more of a. Yeah, let's get 30 of the richest men in the world together to.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Boss a ball around and have some fun.
Bob Kevoian
And speaking of the NBA, they're wanting to start a brand new league in Europe and this evidently is a go. And it's. They're looking for a fall 2027 start. Wow. Because that's springtime on commissioner Adam Silver's home planet. He's an odd looking guy.
Tom Griswold
Well, there already is a league over there.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, well, I know, but they're so.
Tom Griswold
They want the money.
Bob Kevoian
The NBA and FIBA announced the European League plans last year. I don't know if they're going to absorb the present FIBA or they're going to be in addition to fiba. I'm not sure what's going to go on there, but FEMA be jerk.
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob and Tom show. Yeah, I was traveling to Florida with family members, writes Michael from Alpharetta, Georgia. Sure, what a great day.
Ace Cosby
It's a big baseball town.
Tom Griswold
My adult daughter and I were at the Fort Lauderdale airport. The server made mention that she had just been to the Sistine Chapel. I turned to my daughter and I asked, do you know where the Sistine Chapel is? She shook her head and I said, it's right next to the 15th Chap Chapel.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, it is. That's a classic.
Tom Griswold
The restaurant worker found it very amusing.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, good.
Ace Cosby
But I bet his daughter not as much.
Tom Griswold
I know.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Well, thank you. Thank you very much.
Bob Kevoian
I bet he got the international. Oh, dad.
Ace Cosby
If he's lucky.
Tom Griswold
Now you want to give me a couple taste previews of the news?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, man, we have. We have fish in the news. We have, speaking of snakes, python as currency.
Bob Kevoian
Now, when you say fish, do you mean Fish or P H, I S H, fish. Ph Phish. Okay.
Tom Griswold
This is a really cool story. All right, sir, about the band Fish.
Ace Cosby
You know, our buddy Austin just spent three days with Fish.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, And I'm going to include him in our.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Tom Griswold
And is he incarcerated?
Ace Cosby
No, no. But he still has a sort of a blank look on his face. Yeah, it's like he, he's trying to readjust to society.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I don't know if they allowed to have the radios on where several of the Fish fans are right now.
Jeff Oskay
Oh.
Tom Griswold
But that's what we're gonna be discussing. It's kind of funny. Right now I wanna discuss weight loss. Thinking about losing some weight. You may have heard about this. I've been talking about it for about a month. It's called Brickhouse Nutrition's special supplement called Lean. This is not, I will emphasize that this is not an injection. It's not like an EpiPen with some chemicals in it. This is just a simple supplement that is really not so simple. Developed by physicians, Lean is designed to help lower your blood sugar, burn fat by converting it into energy, and curb your appetite, curb those cravings. And it's not for the casual dieter. Lean is designed for those that want to lose 10 pounds or more. And once again, designed by the doctors at Brickhouse Nutrition to help you get started. We'll knock 20% off the off the fee and throw in free rush shipping if you use my name, Tom by going to takelean.com once again, it's L E A N takelean.com promo code, Tom. And it's part of a healthy diet and exercise plan. Once again, it is a supplement and it's called Lean. Of course, weight loss results will vary. Lean has not been evaluated by the fda. And Lean is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. It's designed to help you lose some weight by getting rid of the just kind of curbing the appetite, as I mentioned earlier. Find out all the details, see if this is for you by going to take Lean. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Hey, thanks for listening this morning. Got something to say? Send us an email. Bob and tomobandtom.com today.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jeff Oskay at the news desk.
Jeff Oskay
Hi there.
Bob Kevoian
There's Josh Arnold.
Jeff Oskay
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Ace Cosby. Hey, Our newscasters on vacation. Christy on vacation. Jess, under the weather. Pat Godwin. Still on the DL with the shoulder. I'm Chick. Hello, Tom. Hello.
Tom Griswold
Chick Magee. Now, we have an option here.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
I mentioned that we were going to do a double dose of Today in History.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
Because if I'm not mistaken, yesterday. I'll take the blame for this. We forgot to do Today in History, and I know this is important for people.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Tom Griswold
I was hoping someone would agree with me.
Bob Kevoian
I said yes to Look Back, because if you can't look back, you won't
Tom Griswold
look forward or something. Let me see if I can find it. Today's yes. So this would be the 14th.
Bob Kevoian
Today's 15. Yeah. Yesterday, 14.
Tom Griswold
Okay. July 14th in history. Oh, this is. Oh, this is important. Josh. You'll know this one. 1789. Yesterday. Bastille Day.
Josh Arnold
The.
Tom Griswold
Anyone?
Ace Cosby
Sure, yeah, I'm aware of the term.
Bob Kevoian
But, yeah, it was because.
Tom Griswold
What was it? King Louis banned smoking.
Ace Cosby
Smoking.
Tom Griswold
It's often been said that the French Revolution was like the American Revolution, but with a lot more tongue.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, I bet so.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I bet so.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Remember when you first heard about French kissing?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
When you were a kid and you thought, oh, that sounds great.
Josh Arnold
Gross.
Bob Kevoian
That's disgusting. Right?
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Could that be pleasant? I remember just being like, I don't know if that's any good.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
And I did. It was like, oh, yeah, this is pretty good.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Then you learn it's training day for other things.
Bob Kevoian
You know, I dated that girl who. In high school. Oh, yes. Kiss like a. A Mason jar. She just left her mouth open the whole time. Wasn't. Wasn't anything at all. It wouldn't know.
Jeff Oskay
Like making out with a bass.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Evidently.
Tom Griswold
I mean, even in today's culture, there really isn't much training for any of this stuff. You really have to kind of learn it on your own.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And. And then sometimes you'll be with someone and they're. They're not going to give you any. Any help. You're going to have to figure it out. Hey, do you like this? You know what I'm saying, Josh?
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
I'm sure you're a. Communication is key.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. That's. That you're.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know how I feel about you saying something like, hey, do you like this? I don't.
Tom Griswold
No.
Bob Kevoian
But I care for that at all.
Tom Griswold
I wouldn't say that necessarily. I just meant that there. There's not, like, training. There are no videos.
Ace Cosby
No. But there are absolute Context clues though, that's, that's where you. If she's not giving you any verbal, hey, I love that, do it again or I don't care for that, never do that again. Context clues. The noises she makes.
Tom Griswold
Should there be some like videos?
Ace Cosby
No, it's every man for himself.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I think so.
Jess Hooker
Really?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I think, I think a moan goes a long way, right? I think they know that.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. There's no shame in.
Tom Griswold
Now back learning in the 1700s, did. I mean, did people even know what was going on?
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean? When people were laying down kissing, would
Tom Griswold
a young maiden get married and have no idea what was coming?
Ace Cosby
No, they knew, they were told. Even things like Chaucer were filled with sex jokes and references and stuff.
Tom Griswold
So they would they advise them as to what's going to be happening in the honeymoon.
Ace Cosby
Well, you also had so called nurses, you know, like in Romeo and Juliet where she has a nurse with her the whole time. Not an actual medical nurse, but yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, to give her some tips.
Ace Cosby
Well, that would be one of the things. Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Work the balls.
Tom Griswold
I mean cradle, cradle them. Cradle them. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I'm a lady. You might want to reach for the balls.
Tom Griswold
1881, Billy the Kid shot to death. Pat. He was what, 20? Something like that?
Ace Cosby
He's so young and patient.
Bob Kevoian
Garrett was a sheriff. I realized that again yesterday.
Tom Griswold
Probably would have lived longer if. Or if he'd lived longer, you would. Had a better nickname, you know, Wouldn't. Wouldn't you rather be Billy the grown up last 100 year old Western dude? Okay.
Ace Cosby
Billy the Nonagenarian.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Now this next one, we can, we can tackle this one and screw it up. All right, I'll ask him. I'll ask Mr. Oscar. This one. Do you know who Dr. Benjamin Spock was?
Jeff Oskay
A doctor who had to do with kid babies?
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Ace Cosby
And what to expect when you're expecting.
Tom Griswold
Oh, he wrote the book, the Common sense book of baby and child Care in. Published in 1946.
Ace Cosby
He not write what to expect when you're expecting.
Ali Breen
No.
Ace Cosby
Oh, okay.
Tom Griswold
But it's the same idea. Yeah, but that would. In 46, that really kind of again, that really opened a lot of doors and telling people how things worked.
Ace Cosby
Now that's important.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
That shouldn't be every man for himself when it comes to childbirth.
Tom Griswold
And if, and if you read about, if you read, if you read about childbirth in the 1800s, it. Or been before, I mean in many cases men weren't allowed in. It's.
Jeff Oskay
I, I attended one in the 2000s and I didn't care much for it. I can't imagine the old days.
Bob Kevoian
I always got Dr. Spock and Mr. Spock confused.
Ace Cosby
Many do.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Now, Dr. Spock's book, the Common Sense of Baby in Child Care. Remember chapter one's title?
Bob Kevoian
Well, you made a baby.
Tom Griswold
No, you should have pulled out.
Ace Cosby
Why didn't you pull out? Dummy.
Tom Griswold
Chapter two. So you knocked her up. Okay. No, it's actually filled with expertise about the important thing of child.
Ace Cosby
He's back.
Bob Kevoian
I don't want to make anybody upset.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I just. I remember some of the ideas are old fashioned. It's like for teething, he recommends margaritas. And then for croup, he recommends filter cigarettes. Yes.
Ace Cosby
For soothing a baby to sleep, putting on a Fireside chat.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. These are all great ideas.
Bob Kevoian
Aren't you supposed to dunk like a handkerchief and whiskey? If they're teething or something?
Ace Cosby
Back then they would.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
For them to suck on and.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Now this is a surprise. In 2008, Christopher Nolan's film the Dark Knight made its premiere. 2008. Think about that. If you got knocked up. If you got knocked up watching that movie at a drive in, your kid's old enough to have already stolen his
Bob Kevoian
first car, well, it really makes you stop.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Okay, Jeff, I'm gonna give you an easier one.
Jess Hooker
Ready?
Jeff Oskay
I got the last one.
Tom Griswold
You've got to get the three. Or to win this dollar I got
Jeff Oskay
sitting over here, I need that dollar.
Tom Griswold
1857. Happy birthday. Frederick Louis Maytag.
Jeff Oskay
I'm assuming he invented the washer, the
Tom Griswold
close washer, the motorized washing machine.
Bob Kevoian
And he was a real pest, a real bother. And that's how he came up with the agitator. Thank you. Thank you very much.
Tom Griswold
And didn't we have one of the Maytag guys in here, Gordon Jump?
Ace Cosby
Oh, he was the guy that I grew up with as the Maytag man.
Bob Kevoian
I also Mr. Carlson on WKP. I don't know if I know he
Tom Griswold
was in here, but I don't remember. Was he this. Wasn't he the second Maytag?
Bob Kevoian
He was the middle, loneliest guy in town. The Maytag repairman. Right.
Ace Cosby
Wasn't he also the actor who gave Gary Coleman and his friend wine on
Bob Kevoian
the episode of Different Strokes? A very special difference.
Ace Cosby
As unsettling as it gets, Jeff, you're two for two.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Tom Griswold
And let's not forget the importance of the washing machine. This gave ladies more time to go to the kitchen.
Bob Kevoian
You love your washing machine, don't you?
Tom Griswold
I do.
Bob Kevoian
And your dryer, right?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And Your dishwasher?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You love all the.
Ace Cosby
We are blessed to have all those. Although I can live without a dishwasher. I did just fine for so long without one.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I wash them as I go.
Ace Cosby
I prefer having one, but I.
Tom Griswold
When my dishes go in my dishwasher, they're essentially already washed.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And then. But I like the dishwasher to sterilize them.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Bob Kevoian
You do.
Tom Griswold
Put it on sanitize, and three hours later my china comes out melted.
Bob Kevoian
Because you're insane.
Tom Griswold
Of course. Let's see now. Oh, this. I think you're going to get this one, too.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Tom Griswold
1906, the birthday of a Tom Carvel. Or Carvel.
Jeff Oskay
He invented the ice cream cake.
Bob Kevoian
1906.
Tom Griswold
If it's that Carvel, then yeah, it's Carvel. The first ice cream retail company was started in 1934. I find that hard to believe.
Ace Cosby
Well, then we're giving it to Oscar. You got it. That's named Carvell.
Bob Kevoian
What about Fudgy the Whale? When did that first appear? Was that right? Right from the beginning.
Ace Cosby
I don't know. I never got to enjoy a Fudgy the Whale. Carvel did not make it to Missouri.
Bob Kevoian
I heard tell of it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I never got one as a kid. Always wanted one.
Tom Griswold
Is Carvel the name of the guy that. His wife is the. They're like. One is left, one is right. What's that guy's.
Ace Cosby
Oh, Carville. That's James Carville.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Mary Madeline.
Tom Griswold
We're not talking about him or her. Thank you.
Bob Kevoian
His wife doesn't move her mouth when she talks.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, she looks like clutch cargo.
Bob Kevoian
Speaking of intro, let's see.
Tom Griswold
Happy birthday, William. Hannah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, and Joe Barbera.
Tom Griswold
Hannah Barbera.
Bob Kevoian
Fame.
Ace Cosby
Old Bill and Joel got together. Bill and Joe and got together and history was made.
Tom Griswold
I still love some of those cartoons.
Ace Cosby
Very much so.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, my darling.
Tom Griswold
Happy birthday. Michigan's own Gerald Ford, graduate of the University of Michigan, incredibly clumsy and ended up through a variety of things, becoming president.
Bob Kevoian
Long national nightmare is finally over.
Tom Griswold
Have you ever thought about this? If you remember any of those days, had things gone just slightly differently, Spiro Agnew would have been president.
Bob Kevoian
My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over. That's when he pardoned
Tom Griswold
because. Yeah, but he remembers. You remember this, Josh? You ever. Spiro Agnew was Nixon's vice president.
Bob Kevoian
Sure.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
He got kicked out.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
So we could have had President Agnew. Well, we didn't. We had. We had Gerald Ford. Not only is he a Michigander. Michiganian, he is Also a skier. And speaking of those, I saw. I saw him in person at. In Vail, Colorado.
Bob Kevoian
Speaking of those things, a boat and skier and skiing. Someone sent you an email, Tom, specifically for Tom, that says. See, these are when the listeners. Pacifically, not specifically. He writes specifically. I couldn't help, but I couldn't help myself. I saw this video clip, had to send it to Tom because it combines so many of Tom's favorite things.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Other than it is not Michigan, but it is in Wisconsin.
Ace Cosby
We got a 58 year old here.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. He's getting ready to water ski, as you can tell. Right?
Ace Cosby
Oh, okay. I was gonna say. Yeah, there he is.
Bob Kevoian
There he is right there.
Ace Cosby
He's been skiing for 58 years.
Tom Griswold
Oh, okay. And he's on a dock sitting on a stool with his skis.
Bob Kevoian
And there goes the water.
Tom Griswold
Oh, they're gonna do a dock.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, they're gonna pull them off the dock.
Tom Griswold
Right, okay.
Bob Kevoian
You're probably wondering, why do they pull him off a dock? That's right. He's on stilts.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my God, that's genius.
Bob Kevoian
Look at that.
Tom Griswold
I would love to do that. He is skiing on stilts. That's fantastic.
Bob Kevoian
Just majestically off into the sunset.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Beautiful lake. Oh, that's great. Thank you very much for the video. You appreciate that Internet. Yeah. Gerald Ford was a skier and yeah. I got to see him in. In person.
Bob Kevoian
You think he ever got up on Skills Stilts? Do you think they call stilts skilts
Ace Cosby
when they're on skis in Scotland? They do. Ah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh.
Ace Cosby
Oh, no. Ski still should be called Skills.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
If you're water skiing in wearing a kilt, your junk is going to be.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
You're going to be getting a lot of air.
Ace Cosby
They call it a bidet.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. If you fall, it's the 100 yard douche.
Bob Kevoian
A flume.
Tom Griswold
We're gonna have to come back to finish off yesterday.
Jeff Oskay
In history, has anyone snow skied on stilts?
Tom Griswold
Whoa.
Ace Cosby
Good question.
Bob Kevoian
Now you got something. I can't imagine they haven't.
Ace Cosby
Right, right. But man, it's got to be.
Tom Griswold
So I have seen a guy with a snowboard where the. This is weird. With like a pole and he was a couple feet off. That's probably the closest.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, okay.
Tom Griswold
It's kind of like a hydrofoil.
Jeff Oskay
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Don't they have little gizmos with handlebars and a seat with skis on the bottom? Yeah, ski down the.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I don't want to call those.
Ace Cosby
Those look fun.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, those are really fun. I might do one of those if I ever go sneaking. Yeah, I should try.
Tom Griswold
Watch out for that tree. Coming up, we have an update on extreme pogoing.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think Tom wants me to go skiing with him.
Tom Griswold
We're covering all the good stuff. Also, we've got a very unusual python update because of the current python hunt going on in the Everglades.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Snake farm is there.
Tom Griswold
This involves using pythons as currency. For real? We'll find out about that.
Ace Cosby
And as a fun trick, I have hidden a python somewhere in the green room in one of the cabinets. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. I would, I, honestly, I would pass out if I. If I saw a snake in person. I think I would.
Tom Griswold
To borrow from the Yiddish, the word plots, I believe.
Bob Kevoian
I'm sure I'd pass out.
Tom Griswold
These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Hey, thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Get a look at today's show on our YouTube channel.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jeff Hoskay at the news desk. That's right, everybody sick or on vacation. Pat Godwin on the DL, there's Josh Arnold. Hello, there's Ace Cosby. I'm Chick McGee here at the NHTSA sports desk. Hello, Tom.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Chick McGee. We have to finish yesterday in history. All right, sorry. We'll get to today in history later on. All right, let's see. We were discussing. Happy birthday, Gerald Ford, former President of the United States, avid skier, resident of Vail, Colorado.
Ace Cosby
I always liked that Chevy Chase didn't even try to do a Gerald Ford voice. He just did the clumsiness. And then Ackroyd did a voice with a mustache. Right, right. For Jimmy Carter. But he did, he just kept the Mustang.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
Those were great days. Happy birthday. The great character actor, Harry Dean Stanton, yesterday.
Ace Cosby
Oh, he is great.
Bob Kevoian
Pretty good.
Ace Cosby
Recently passed away. Not too long ago.
Bob Kevoian
Was that Paris?
Tom Griswold
A couple years ago.
Bob Kevoian
Texas.
Ace Cosby
That's a great movie.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, this is sad. On 1945, the late Jim Gordon, the drummer, world class drummer, played on hundreds of number one hits. And what was the drummer for? Eric Clapton? Derek and the Dominoes is incorrectly credited with writing Layla. It's a long story.
Bob Kevoian
I can tell you're irked. Miffed. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
His then girl. It's a long story, but he had a very sad end. It's. Oh, no, you know. Yeah, I don't.
Bob Kevoian
I'm not sure if I'm aware.
Tom Griswold
You don't want to know.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Tom Griswold
It involved a lot of unfortunate.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. I think I kind of remember it now.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Who else are we wishing birthday for
Tom Griswold
the fine actress Jane Lynch.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Well, it's got to be rough having your last name a hate crime.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, my.
Tom Griswold
Sorry.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that's kind of.
Ace Cosby
She was from Lynchburg, but that's also a tough name,
Jeff Oskay
you know.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Ace Cosby
You know, she's good on that. She was good. I don't know. If it's still around, you'll know. The reboot of the.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, who Wants to be. No.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Who wants to be a millionaire?
Ace Cosby
No, the.
Bob Kevoian
The smartest.
Ace Cosby
Goodbye. You are the weakest link. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that's right. Okay, sorry. I'll run this one by Mr. Oskar again because you're doing so well. Happy birthday, Matthew Fox. Who's Matthew Fox?
Jeff Oskay
I have no idea.
Bob Kevoian
I want to say he's on one of those team.
Tom Griswold
He was party of five. Dawson's Creed was.
Josh Arnold
He's the.
Tom Griswold
Isn't he the main guy in Lost?
Bob Kevoian
Lost, yeah, sure.
Ace Cosby
Great movie called Bone Tomahawk. If you've never seen that.
Bob Kevoian
I love the Bone Tomahawk.
Ace Cosby
He's awesome in that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that gets real.
Tom Griswold
Boy, that's. That sounds like a. That sounds like a gay Native American porn.
Ace Cosby
Give it a. Give it a watch.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Hey, Tom, why don't you go watch Tomahawk this afternoon?
Ace Cosby
And Kurt Russell, we'll talk to you in a week when you're ready to leave your house again.
Bob Kevoian
When they pry you out of the fetal position.
Tom Griswold
Wow, I haven't heard of this.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, it's.
Ace Cosby
It's a Western. I don't know that you'd care for it, but it's. Yeah, it gets grisly.
Tom Griswold
And lastly, I could see you watching
Bob Kevoian
it and at some point going, oh, what the hell is that?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, this guy was just in the news a couple days ago, I think. Born in 1988. Conor McGregor.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, he just didn't. He hawked his knee during.
Tom Griswold
Right out of the gate, like a 30 second fight. He comes out, tries to do a kick and then just gets the crap kicked out of him.
Bob Kevoian
And why he. No, he twisted his knee with the kick and he never recovered.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, I'd like to think that he kicked the ghost of one of those old men he would just randomly punch in a bar for no reason.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. For no reason at all.
Jeff Oskay
And here's what happened to a better person.
Tom Griswold
He lost it his last several outings.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. I think his likability or Q scores off the chart for UFC. More people know Conor McGregor than any anybody else in the UFC.
Jeff Oskay
He has like a hundred million dollar yacht that he just takes around the world all the time with like, to get tattoos, 20 hotties on it.
Tom Griswold
And he keeps losing, though.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Oh, they pay you to lose. You just go ahead and lose. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
No, it's interesting how sometimes incredibly unsuccessful athletes end up doing so well.
Ace Cosby
Well, he was great at one point.
Jeff Oskay
No, he was the world champion at one time.
Bob Kevoian
Sure.
Tom Griswold
Okay. I heard he's been in slightly fewer fights than Pat Godwin. Except he gets paid for it.
Bob Kevoian
And McGregor's in a ring and Pats are normally on a front lawn.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah. Typically a front lawn.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
Never the back lawn. I wonder why.
Bob Kevoian
No, that's interesting.
Tom Griswold
And that's yesterday in history, and you're welcome. Hope you had a good Bastille Day. Smoked an extra cigarette. Oh, by the way, coming up tomorrow, I read an interesting article yesterday that the headline was something like, cigarettes are back.
Ace Cosby
Oh, really?
Tom Griswold
And it's about the increasing popularity of smoking among a certain age group.
Jeff Oskay
Huh.
Bob Kevoian
Cigarettes are bad.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, all right. I never. I was never even curious about cigarettes. And to this day, I'm like a gummy guy. If I do that, it's a gummy. I don't.
Tom Griswold
We didn't.
Jeff Oskay
I can't do this.
Tom Griswold
I know. You're unsmoked. Your mom smoked, right?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, my dad smoked.
Tom Griswold
What brand?
Bob Kevoian
My mom smoked Viceroys, and my dad smoked Camel non filters.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yikes. Yikes.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Did your folks smoke?
Jeff Oskay
My mom smoked Vantage Ultralights, which is what I smoked. And because they sell those.
Tom Griswold
They sell those to men. Huh?
Jeff Oskay
No, I would steal him from.
Bob Kevoian
All right. Your dad didn't smoke, did he or did he?
Ace Cosby
He did. Yeah. But. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, okay.
Ace Cosby
Marlboro red soft pack.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Ace Cosby
Until probably he didn't smoke for, like, the last 15 or so years of his life. And he just. He quit cold turkey.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Ace Cosby
And then he. He smoked until he started when he was like, 14, and then. But he quit cold turkey. And then there would be cigarette packs around the house. I was like, yeah, we need to get rid of those. And he goes, the second you get rid of those is when I'll smoke again because I have to have them around me and just have the willpower not to.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Ace Cosby
I'm the same way.
Jeff Oskay
I'm the exact opposite.
Ace Cosby
Oh, gotcha.
Bob Kevoian
Oh.
Jeff Oskay
If there was one in my house, I knew it was there. I would smoke it.
Tom Griswold
Kidding. Even after all these years?
Jeff Oskay
It's been six years. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I will find out more about the the new wave of smoking coming up. I guess we have time right now for a quick sports well we could squeeze one or two stories and what
Bob Kevoian
have you got from Arlington, Texas. That's right, Jerry. World in the World cup Spain wins 2 nothing victory over France yesterday. Spain advances to the finals. They will face either defending champion Argentina or England on Sunday and East Rutherford, New Jersey at Giant Stadium, Jets Stadium. The Argentina and England match this afternoon in Atlanta at 1500 which is 900. No, wait a minute. It's 3 3pm I'm going great Britain on this Eastern Daylight Time.
Ace Cosby
I'm on a cheerful rooting. Oh yeah, I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
I'm going to cheer for England but Argentina's got that look.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, for sure.
Bob Kevoian
Back for from yeah. Major League Baseball All Star Game last night Dylan Cease struck out the side in the first inning combining with 10 relievers on a three hitter in pitching dominance by the American League. A 4 nothing win over the National League in the All Star Game. Cody Bellinger had a two run single. Ben Rice followed with an RBI single in the first against Christopher Sanchez hosted the of the host Phillies. Miguel Vargas of the White Sox an 8th inning home run, his very first All Star appearance. And according to reports, the NBA is moving closer to launching a new league in Europe aiming for a 2027 start in the fall. Commissioner Adam Silver and deputy commissioner Mark Tatum, he's the deputy plan to meet with potential T motors during the FIFA World cup final weekend. That's this weekend. And the NBA and fiba, the basketball equivalent of FIFA in Europe have announced the European League plans last year and apparently that's it is a go.
Tom Griswold
And we got an interesting NBA excuse me, interesting WNBA story coming up. Also a really interesting, interesting story about the summer concert season and something that happened over the weekend at a series of fish shows. A ph ish Trey Anastasio and the boys. Something quite interesting we'll get we'll be getting to shortly but right now I want to mention that the sports Desk is brought to you by nhtsa.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. When you speed while driving, you have less time to react to whatever comes across your path. That's common sense. A sharp turn could take you by surprise. Another car could turn out in front of you. A truck could break suddenly. A cyclist could enter the road ahead. Maybe a pedestrian walking their dog. You may not think any of these things could happen to you, but you won't see them coming until they happen. When you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. And it only takes an instant for disaster. The speed limit isn't just there to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and everyone who shares the road. So slow down, obey the law and help keep everyone around you safe. Speeding catches up with you, paid for by nhtsa.
Tom Griswold
Thank you very much, nhtsa. And now, also coming up on today's program, it'll be Sexy Time with Ali Breen. And we have a world record involving something resembling sexy Time. Also, we have condoms in the Castle. Sounds like a chapter in a book, doesn't it? Maybe. I guess that wouldn't really be a Hallmark movie, now would it? No, no, no. Not Condoms in the Castle. But we'll find out why we have found condoms in the castle. Maybe from here. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, and this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom show where the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios at the news desk is Jeff Oskay. Hello. We are limping along here. Jess Hooker under the weather. Kristi Lee on vacation. Vacation. Pat Godwin still with the orange. Orange. The shoulder. Owie.
Tom Griswold
I don't know why I said, where'd you get orange?
Bob Kevoian
I don't know. I was looking at my computer screen. I was looking for an orange on there.
Ace Cosby
Sometimes people smell oranges when they have a stroke. Do they say it?
Bob Kevoian
Boy, I, I hope not.
Ace Cosby
I do, too.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
Live on the air. Hi, there's Josh Arnold. Did you already say that? No. There's Ace Cosby. I'm Chick. Hello.
Tom Griswold
Tom, a couple things. Mr. Oskay, who is doing our news today, is going to be working with Willie G. Willie will be our. Will be on the air with us tomorrow and Friday. They're going to be doing some live comedy Friday night.
Jeff Oskay
Saturday night.
Tom Griswold
I'm sorry, Excuse me. Saturday night. Is it even on here? Oh, that's. See, when you make a poster, you don't put the.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, I didn't make.
Tom Griswold
It would be Saturday, though. I see it down there. It's Willie G. And Jeffrey at the Story Inn in Nashville.
Bob Kevoian
I wonder what the story is with the story.
Ace Cosby
Is there.
Jeff Oskay
It's haunted.
Bob Kevoian
That's what I, I thought I'd heard that.
Jeff Oskay
No, it's haunted.
Bob Kevoian
Very much so.
Ace Cosby
Huh. Real ghosted up. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding.
Jeff Oskay
Like, I, I heard stuff.
Bob Kevoian
All the rooms and stuff or the
Jeff Oskay
room where I stayed was haunted.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding. Yeah.
Ace Cosby
So haunted. I know. When I performed there, I heard just so Many boos.
Tom Griswold
Self defecating a nice joke. Where was I?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, Sports Desk Y, WNBA last night, Connecticut over Portland. 9890 to 87 in Washington. Be Toronto. The Valkyries. I'm not sure how I feel about that name. 7962.
Ace Cosby
Tom Cruise movie Valkyrie.
Bob Kevoian
I'm not familiar with that.
Ace Cosby
Oh, it's pretty good, man.
Bob Kevoian
I've missed that one.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Huh.
Ace Cosby
He hunts Hitler.
Bob Kevoian
I like the one where they time travel with Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise.
Ace Cosby
Edge of Tomorrow.
Bob Kevoian
Edge of Tomorrow.
Ace Cosby
Fantastic.
Bob Kevoian
Damn fine movie. Movie. Watch that with the Bone Tomahawk today. But watch Bone Tomahawk last.
Tom Griswold
I'm nothing that liked Vanilla Sky. Did you like?
Ace Cosby
I very much like.
Tom Griswold
You know. Okay, good.
Bob Kevoian
I've kind of come around on Vanilla Sky. I. I normally, as I have a policy if at some point in the movie, most often at the end, they explain to you what's happened during the movie, I tend to stay away from those movies.
Ace Cosby
I get why.
Bob Kevoian
And Vanilla sky kind of does that, but it's okay.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Only because I like what's his face. Who. Who directed Cameron Crowe. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I like the nose.
Bob Kevoian
His taste in women. Nancy Wilson.
Josh Arnold
Huh.
Bob Kevoian
He married? No, they got divorced.
Tom Griswold
Yep.
Bob Kevoian
Ah. The kids couldn't get it together. That's a shame. Anyway, New York Liberty's betting ajah Laney Hamilton tossed out of a game after she threw a shoe. I mean, who throws a shoe? Honestly? That hit Toronto Tempo player Marina Mabry.
Ace Cosby
No kidding. I have a question doing here.
Tom Griswold
I don't know. Isn't the Toronto Tempo like the lamest name?
Ace Cosby
It sounds like a acapella group.
Tom Griswold
The Toronto Tempo.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, it doesn't sound like a badass of my heart.
Tom Griswold
Aren't these names supposed to, you know,
Ace Cosby
the Bears, the Lions, elicit some sort
Tom Griswold
of the Tempo threat? What are they going to play? The Montreal Rests?
Bob Kevoian
The sneaker belonged to John Cole Jones. It fell off. But when Laney Hamilton tried to toss the shoe at her teammate, it ended up hitting Ms. Maybry in the back. Well, it was an accident.
Ace Cosby
Oh, so this was. No.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I could. I want to hear about players throwing shoes at each other and ripping their clothes off and calm down. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. And apparently the officials, after a review, gave Ms. Lady Hamilton a technical foul, her second of the game for throwing a projectile on the court. And she was tossed. The Liberty ultimately lost to the Tempo. That is an odd name. 93, 91. Mayberry later said of the incident, I think she was really just trying to get the shoe back To John Quail. But I'll take the free throw. There you go.
Tom Griswold
All right, now, if the shoe fits. Remember the most famous shoe tossing?
Ace Cosby
Oh, it's got to be George W. Bush.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
I mean, that's more than a toss.
Jeff Oskay
Dude.
Ace Cosby
He does it great. Yeah, he ducks and weaves and. Yeah. He kind of laughs and he kind of looks like. You got any more?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, Bring it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Where's the left one? Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Let's see now.
Bob Kevoian
He was something else. George W. H. I don't know about him. Right.
Ace Cosby
Oh, by. By whether you liked him as a president or not. Right. Everybody on both sides of the aisle say he was genuinely funny. Just like, not accidentally funny. Like he genuinely had a really good guy. Yeah. Yeah. But who know? I guess he's an artist.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, he's phenomenal. Yeah, he's a great artist.
Ace Cosby
Interesting.
Bob Kevoian
What does he do?
Tom Griswold
He's a team.
Jeff Oskay
Like, he does, like, oil paintings.
Bob Kevoian
They're kidding.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
I also like a president who, when he retires. Retires?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Ace Cosby
Like that's what a guy who retires does.
Bob Kevoian
He goes.
Ace Cosby
All of a sudden he picks up oil painting. If I were president and then retired, you wouldn't hear from me ever again.
Bob Kevoian
No. Other than the Secret Service.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Bob Kevoian
You'd still have that detail. Right? Don't they get a detail?
Ace Cosby
Hey, what do you think of the current events? What do I. What do I care? Yeah. I left that years ago.
Bob Kevoian
Not my. Not my.
Ace Cosby
Keep making messes.
Tom Griswold
I may have started a mess, but I'm not going to.
Bob Kevoian
Not my pig. Not my.
Ace Cosby
You know. We can't have a nice conversation without even a slight editorial from.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know. What's your problem?
Tom Griswold
Hey, he doesn't ski. See? Gerald Ford skis.
Bob Kevoian
I have an exciting announcement. Pogo Palooza, the annual world championship of extreme Pogo sticking, took place in Pittsburgh. The multi day event featured high flying stunts, world record attempts and free jump areas. Athletes trained for years at Pogo Wing.
Ace Cosby
I wonder if the guy that we interviewed one year.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, we interviewed the guy and he was amazing.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Quite skilled.
Tom Griswold
I mean, he would.
Bob Kevoian
Michael Mena.
Tom Griswold
He would do backflips and I mean, he was great. Now, I saw a part of this. This was a couple of weeks ago in Pittsburgh. They were interviewing the one guy I saw. Apparently he'd been doing it for quite some time. Without a helmet?
Ace Cosby
No. Tough interview. Was it like one of those post boxing interviews?
Bob Kevoian
No. No helmet, huh?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Drool.
Ace Cosby
I want to see a guy. This. This will never happen. But I would pay $500 to watch this. A guy puts a pogo stick on top of a pogo stick and pogos.
Bob Kevoian
That would take.
Ace Cosby
So the first pogo stick pushes down the second boat. It won't. It can't happen. It's impossible.
Tom Griswold
Maybe if you melded the two together, somehow tied them. Oh. So it has to be a balance. Okay. Yeah, work on that.
Bob Kevoian
That would be unbelievable balance.
Tom Griswold
Now, speaking of the pogoing, the. The pogo guys are doing flips. The. The famous. I guess the most famous flip in contemporary culture right now, of course, would be the one that just happened over the weekend. Mr. Carl McDaniel, who was hit by the bison and does that incredible flip going way up in the air. Once again. He is okay. He had, I believe, four fractures in his femur.
Bob Kevoian
Femur.
Tom Griswold
But this is the video that's gone viral. We have a version of it. We did a commentary on it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
On all of our socials.
Tom Griswold
The guy's okay. It is. It is quite humorous the way he is flipped up by a giant bison. And the lesson learned here.
Bob Kevoian
They're saying you shouldn't be eating solid food any day now. Yeah. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Ace Cosby
Well, that goes with it.
Tom Griswold
He's quoted as saying it wasn't as catastrophic as it could have been. So, Carl, I'm glad you're doing okay.
Ace Cosby
He said he. Of course, he can't recognize any friends
Bob Kevoian
or family, but he's going one of these days, busted up his femur. What do they do to the bison? Did they do anything to the bison?
Tom Griswold
It's a wild animal, wasn't it?
Bob Kevoian
I'm just going to tell you it's
Ace Cosby
a fair question because sometimes wild animals do wild animal things and then are killed for it.
Bob Kevoian
Exactly.
Ace Cosby
In this case, they better not have. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And don't we have a bison glut now because of Ted Turner. Right.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
It's all his fault.
Bob Kevoian
He brought the bison back. And you can't go into the kitchen without finding a bison underneath the sink.
Tom Griswold
They are delicious. I had a bison burger.
Bob Kevoian
Bison burger. I have not.
Tom Griswold
They're great.
Bob Kevoian
There is one of those restaurants around here.
Ace Cosby
They're flavorful.
Bob Kevoian
Very still open, but. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Which reminds me, today is National Hot Dog Day and we have an. I have a really unusual hot dog surprise. Trivia fact.
Bob Kevoian
All right. Is that right?
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Is it about the wienermobile?
Tom Griswold
No, it's about. It's a. Something everyone thinks is the case. That is not.
Ace Cosby
Oh, you love these. These are some of your favorite trivia.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
So, yeah, it's coming up as we celebrate National Hot Dog Day.
Ace Cosby
What bun do you want? You want just a plain white bun?
Bob Kevoian
I just want a plain white bun, I think.
Tom Griswold
What else is there?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Well, you got your Hawaiian. You got your brioche, you got your.
Bob Kevoian
You can't beat Hawaiian.
Jeff Oskay
Your onion, you know, the poppy seed. I like poppy seed. Hot dog bun.
Ace Cosby
You would, you druggie.
Jeff Oskay
I know.
Ace Cosby
Those are good.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. What about the Pepperidge farm? People are slicing it on the top every now and then. The bun. Right.
Ace Cosby
They have their place. Honestly, they have their place.
Tom Griswold
So is the king's. Hawaiian makes hot dog buns.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah. Oh, hot dog. Hamburger bun.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I better. This is. I may have to leave.
Ace Cosby
You got a pretzel bun? I've had that dog before.
Bob Kevoian
Hawaiian bread people, they've got their fingers in a lot of pods.
Tom Griswold
And by the way, I'm still very excited about the forthcoming I have. I understand that at some fairs this summer they always do like the deep fried weird stuff.
Bob Kevoian
Yep.
Tom Griswold
That's getting, you know, kind of old. But I. I guess they're going to have ice cream dipped in butter, which to me, you know. Ice cream, great. Butter, great.
Bob Kevoian
I still don't understand how the ice cream doesn't fall off into the butter, but it doesn't. It's amazing.
Tom Griswold
Some temperature trick. I. I'm going to find out and we're going to have the people that do this on the air. I'm very excited.
Bob Kevoian
We're going to get to the bottom of this. I don't care how many cones we have to eat.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Tom Griswold
And this year, I understand they're going to be doing deep fried birth control. Oh, kind of interesting. Interesting thing happening. I don't know why people find that politically incorrect.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know why. I don't know why this is on my button bar. But all of a sudden.
Tom Griswold
Don't you love that tinkly piano?
Ace Cosby
It evokes a time and place boy.
Tom Griswold
You ever see the movie where the Boys Are, Jeffrey?
Jeff Oskay
I have not.
Bob Kevoian
It's isn't the male star in that.
Tom Griswold
So Tim Hutton knew.
Bob Kevoian
Was it Tim Hutton or the, ah,
Ace Cosby
the blonde Timothy Hutton.
Tom Griswold
Oh, sorry.
Bob Kevoian
Troy Donahue.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Wasn't Troy Donahue. And where's the boys?
Tom Griswold
Wait a minute.
Bob Kevoian
Where the boys are is.
Tom Griswold
What's Tim Hutton's dad's name?
Ace Cosby
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
No, Tim. Tim is the dad.
Tom Griswold
No, Jim.
Bob Kevoian
Jim Hutton was. And Tim Hutton's the son.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So it wasn't Tim.
Tom Griswold
This is what made Daytona Beach. It was about going to college, spring break, where the Boys are. And then something happens. One of the girls is violated by a Columbia University student. I didn't know the guy.
Bob Kevoian
This seems like it's a lot darker in your explanation than what the movie is. Is that.
Tom Griswold
Well, that's because, for example, the movie. What's the famous John Travolta disco movie.
Bob Kevoian
What's that called? Saturday Night Fever.
Tom Griswold
Saturday Night Fever is a dark movie.
Ace Cosby
It is.
Tom Griswold
And even though there's all that dancing and all that other cool stuff that there's some real. That took over. Yeah. The. The one of the sub thing themes of that movie is really bleak.
Bob Kevoian
Well, and there are essentially like two actually.
Tom Griswold
Essentially.
Ace Cosby
It's bad.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Violation of the.
Bob Kevoian
There are two versions of that there. There's a PG and a PG 13 and there's an R, I think.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I didn't know that.
Ace Cosby
I think so the. Where the boys are, you guys? When I was in my porn renting days where I would actually go to the porn video stores and rent them in my twenties.
Tom Griswold
Before you. Before you started the Josh Arnold Porn Foundation.
Ace Cosby
That's exactly right. Now I get by the way, you're
Bob Kevoian
doing some great work.
Ace Cosby
Thank you very much. Yeah, yeah. We've raised zero money. But I have had a lot of fun.
Bob Kevoian
You're still hoping for.
Ali Breen
Wouldn't that be.
Tom Griswold
Wouldn't that be great if a charity announced, hey, listen, we've taken in $70 million. I got a private jet.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
This is awesome.
Ace Cosby
Hey, look, we're really not helping anybody, but if you've seen this boat.
Bob Kevoian
Unbelievable.
Ace Cosby
There was a series of lesbian porn. A whole franchise. I mean, they went it numbered from 1 to 18 or something. I remember that. And I did not rent them because I'm not. I don't care for lesbian porn because I feel like it's a party. I'm not. I haven't been invited to. I don't. I feel. I don't. I'm not Right. It was called where the Boys Aren't.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, is that right?
Ace Cosby
I laughed every time.
Bob Kevoian
Oh my gosh. That's pretty good. Oh, hey, look at this stupid world record. Brazilian couple have claimed the Guinness World Record for most kisses in 30 seconds by a pair.
Tom Griswold
Do we have this video? Okay, this is.
Ace Cosby
They must be like.
Bob Kevoian
I must be. Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I want you to. I saw this and this is ridiculous.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. 30 seconds and the number is 195.
Ace Cosby
Boy, how do they even. Okay, well, we'll have to see the video to see. What the heck?
Bob Kevoian
What is that?
Tom Griswold
80?
Bob Kevoian
90.
Ace Cosby
There's so many kisses.
Bob Kevoian
In 15 seconds. What the hell?
Tom Griswold
You.
Bob Kevoian
Renato Gaia. Gaia. G A I A 32. And his girlfriend, Roberto Ribeiro de Marins, 33, 195 Smooches. They said they wanted to break their record together because they believe they're the best couple in the world.
Ace Cosby
All right, well, let's take a look.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Do we have this? Here we go. And.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, wait a minute. They're not kissing on the lips.
Jeff Oskay
He is just.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, this is silly.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, dude, Josh, me and you could take the all male division. Let's do it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, we need to do this.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, but this is. I mean, I've seen hardcore male on male intercourse. Less gay than this video.
Ace Cosby
Well, here's. He's holding her lightly by the chin and kissing her cheek. But it's almost like he's just brushing his lips and going, this is ridiculous. That's it. And she doesn't even look like she's enjoying it.
Tom Griswold
Although I'm kind of wondering where's his right hand?
Ace Cosby
Just feverishly
Bob Kevoian
beating it like a speed bag.
Tom Griswold
No, there's. There's a record. I want to see Jeff.
Ace Cosby
Who. When we try to beat this. Who are you? Am I kissing you? Are you kissing me?
Jeff Oskay
Maybe try it both ways.
Ace Cosby
See who the fastest kisser is.
Jeff Oskay
See how long it takes me.
Bob Kevoian
If you're gonna go on cheek, can
Ace Cosby
I go in the skin area above your beard or do I have to kiss beard?
Jeff Oskay
No, you can do face.
Ace Cosby
What are you gonna do for me?
Jeff Oskay
Top of your head.
Tom Griswold
When do I throw up? Oh, I know. Right now.
Bob Kevoian
Hey,
Tom Griswold
Jeffrey, you're shaving off your beard. What, this week?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, actually, I went to shave it yesterday and my trimmers broke, so I had to order a new pair. They're being delivered today.
Ace Cosby
Oh, okay. Did you go with a wahl peanut or.
Jeff Oskay
I went with the wall dude.
Tom Griswold
What is that? What is the wall peanut?
Ace Cosby
Just a good. A good solid clipper all around clipper for beard hair? Yeah. Oh, that's the wahl.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I see. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
They're the workhorse of the industry.
Ace Cosby
Make and model.
Tom Griswold
How would you describe Jeffries beard?
Ace Cosby
It's very big and bushy. Salt and pepper. But well groomed for the most part. I mean, of course you're going to get your strays every now and again.
Tom Griswold
So now. But are you going down to the skin?
Jeff Oskay
No, I'm going down to like chicken Josh level.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jeff Oskay
Of respectable level.
Tom Griswold
And how does your. Your lady friend, how does she feel about.
Jeff Oskay
She doesn't care.
Ace Cosby
She likes you.
Tom Griswold
Now, is that in General.
Bob Kevoian
She just wants him to be quiet.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Ace Cosby
Ye.
Jeff Oskay
You do what you do.
Ace Cosby
She just wants you to clean out the sink afterwards.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, exactly.
Tom Griswold
She really didn't weigh in on this?
Jeff Oskay
No, she doesn't care.
Jess Hooker
Really?
Ace Cosby
Cool. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I find that surprising.
Jeff Oskay
Why?
Tom Griswold
Well, because, I mean, obviously, why?
Jeff Oskay
Does your lady tell you how to look?
Tom Griswold
Of course. Are you kidding? It's primarily criticism, but. No, but I mean, no.
Jeff Oskay
She asked me not to shave it all the way off.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Ace Cosby
That was very good.
Jeff Oskay
She doesn't like.
Tom Griswold
Because obviously any kind of interactivity in the sexual realm with you is going to involve a lot of hair.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Is this the longest your beard has ever been?
Jeff Oskay
No.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, no. Okay. Because it's. It's been longer down to the. The crew neck of your T shirt.
Tom Griswold
Now do you. Do you. Don't you have some kind of oil you put in there?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Yes, I. And I have a comb and.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I have a separate comb for that.
Ace Cosby
I have a beard wash. Yeah, I use that too.
Tom Griswold
If I could do that, I'd get one of those Afro picks and just leave it in there with a fist on.
Ace Cosby
Would stay.
Jeff Oskay
It would definitely stay in my beard.
Ace Cosby
My beard brushes. I use a comb when I'm going to trim it up and stuff to get it really precise. But every day I just brush it like it's essentially a horse brush.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Jeff Oskay
It's real firm.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Those things are awesome.
Bob Kevoian
I don't have one of those. I just use the one I brush my hair with. Now, when you brush my beard, when
Tom Griswold
you finish eating, do you go into a. Go into the restroom at a restaurant and kind of give it a. Make sure there's nothing angry?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, I give it a restroom.
Tom Griswold
Does your girlfriend tell you when you've got stuff hanging in it?
Jeff Oskay
I have. I know how to eat.
Ace Cosby
And here's the thing, Tom, that's when it happens. Somebody would say something, but it's more rare than you'd think that you get food in there.
Jeff Oskay
We eat together a lot. You've never caught food in my face. You would have pointed it out.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, when you're right, you're right. I would have relished it for five or ten minutes and then said, by the way, there's jalapeno pepper.
Ace Cosby
Will you ever rinse your beard? Because, like, if I have, say, shrimp scampi, I will eventually go in and rinse my upper lip hair because you can still kind of get the garlic and stuff.
Bob Kevoian
Shrimp scampi, the enemy of the hirsute, I can tell you that. Right now?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yes. Sometimes after I eat certain things, I will go wash out the beer.
Josh Arnold
I see.
Tom Griswold
Well, we'll look forward to. So are we going to be able to see. Are we going to see this by the end of the week?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jeff Oskay
Tomorrow.
Tom Griswold
Wow, I'm looking forward to this. Make sure to get a picture today so we can do a before and after.
Ace Cosby
Are you going to auction off your beard clippings?
Jeff Oskay
I'm giving it to a charity for homeless people called Lux of Lice. And it's. Homeless people.
Tom Griswold
Pubes for the people.
Bob Kevoian
Insult, injury. Right.
Tom Griswold
Pubes for the people. They make merkins for the, for the. For the unhoused.
Bob Kevoian
Spread them around your houses. Keep the snails off of them or something.
Tom Griswold
By the way, I. I saw this. I've seen this two or three times in the last week. I don't know. I. There's a. There's a lot of spots where guys stand there. Usually guys with signs.
Jeff Oskay
Yes.
Tom Griswold
There's a guy now. He's got a. A barcode or whatever. What's one of the square ones?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah, the QR code.
Tom Griswold
Have you seen that guy?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah. And by the way, he had a shirt off yesterday. That dude is ripped. Like he could go model.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Like he's got an eight pack. I'm like, how can you.
Tom Griswold
He's got assigned with the QR code. Says anything else, but then he's not even there.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, he was there for me.
Tom Griswold
Well, no, I. I drove by. So the guy just got assigned. Like, what? Can't come to. Can't come to work today. So you're gonna. Someone gonna drive by that. Oh, and grab the QR code.
Jeff Oskay
And last year, I was downtown, I was walking by a guy, and there was a guy sitting there holding a piece of cardboard, and it was just blank. And I go, hey, you don't have anything on your side. He goes, if I could ride, I'd have a job. I was like, five bucks.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Jeff Oskay
That's the best sign ever.
Tom Griswold
Wow. That. That, that worked almost better than the guy with the dog. Yeah, that guy takes it in.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yeah.
Ace Cosby
There were some guys in Hollywood during the writers strike who were walking around with pickets that had nothing written on it.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Ace Cosby
Which is so funny.
Tom Griswold
Coming up, we have Jeff Oskay sitting in for Ms. Hooker today.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Who was sitting in for Christy Lee.
Jeff Oskay
We got pythons. We got the fish. We got old, old condoms.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
The condom story is really cool. Also, they're not as old as T. Rex. That T. Rex got auctioned Wait till you hear how much that went for. And also of interest, the Fish story is the P H I S H, Fish. Trey and the Boys and what transpired over a big weekend of fish concerts. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Just gotta get a hold of us. Call, text or email. Get all the contact information you need@bobandtom.com. this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. That's Jeff Oskay at the news desk. That's right, Christy Lee on vacay. Jess Hooker under the weather. Pat Godwin still on the disabled list with his shoulder. Hopefully back Monday is the scuttlebutt. There's Josh Arnold.
Jeff Oskay
Hi.
Tom Griswold
I don't know what's. Why the lack of enthusiasm?
Bob Kevoian
No, nothing.
Ace Cosby
I'm gonna have to. I just don't know how I'm gonna tell Pat I'm not driving him in anymore.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, all right. I think he has been driving, though. That was a glorious.
Ace Cosby
Now he's saying he's gonna have to get another thing done.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, that's true. He might have.
Ace Cosby
I feel like I did my time.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Had to go back in yesterday.
Ace Cosby
All right, well, I'm done, so.
Bob Kevoian
Say you can't. How.
Ace Cosby
But how can I let him know I still love him, but I'm not doing it?
Bob Kevoian
Well, a mature conversation between two adults would cover that, I would think.
Ace Cosby
But you're gonna get half of that.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll send him that clip.
Ace Cosby
No, he's listening. You know he's listening.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, now that's Ace Constant.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And I'm check.
Tom Griswold
Hi, Tom. Hello, this is Tom speaking. Thank you. Where were we? Oh, Jeff, Oscar is sitting in. By the way, Ms. Hooker, who was sitting in for Ms. Lee, if you
Bob Kevoian
ever meet Tom in person, that was his. Hello, you'll get. Hey, hello.
Tom Griswold
Nice to see you. Thank you. Hey, you're wasting my time on this earth for only so long. What have you got over there, Jeffrey?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, I thought. Are we still over with chicken?
Bob Kevoian
No, I'm done, baby.
Jeff Oskay
Officials in Hamilton County, Indiana, say they are disappointed in the behavior of Fish fans.
Ace Cosby
Oh, you expected some lofty aristocratic behavior, did you?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, you and all their parents. Following the recent series of concerts, the prosecuting attorney's office said that during the three day FISH event at Ruff Music center, authorities seize significant quantities of mushrooms, methamphetamines, lsd, heroin, fentanyl, mdma, marijuana, and Nitrous oxide. Five people were arrested for major felony level drug dealing and or possession offenses, while several other individuals were found to have outstanding warrants. Oh, why, thank you very much.
Tom Griswold
Keep. But keep reading.
Jeff Oskay
Prosecutors said, frankly, we are disappointed in the number of people who showed up to engage in illicit behavior. An estimated 20,000 people attended each fish show at Noblesville. The five felony arrest across the weekend amounted to.008% of attendees.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, it sounds like it's par for the course for a three day fish festival.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
I thought that he was mad that they didn't catch more fish fans. Right? Like five arrests, that's nothing.
Bob Kevoian
And they're used to this. Where this concert was, fish is here, there all the time. Yeah. Every season they come through.
Tom Griswold
And to me, arresting fish fans, I mean, you talk about fish in a barrel, you know, you know what's going on there.
Ace Cosby
Yes.
Jeff Oskay
My son attended one of the shows. He had never been to a fish show. And I asked him how it was, and he goes, man, there are a lot of men messed up people. And I was like, yeah, that's a fish show.
Tom Griswold
Hey, I went to the beach. I found some sand.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Hey, look, the sky, it's blue.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
I mean, to say you're disappointed implies you expected a different outcome. Right.
Tom Griswold
If they'd really tried, they could have arrested 500. At least one of my sons was once arrested at that venue.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Ace Cosby
I wonder who you blame. You don't blame your son. I know that. Well, they shouldn't.
Tom Griswold
There's a trick. If you're going to that jail, wear three T shirts. I'll tell you about that. Off the air.
Jeff Oskay
Interesting.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's freezing.
Jeff Oskay
Would that son be making an appearance later?
Tom Griswold
No, no, no.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, we were talking snakes earlier. A pizzeria in Florida is hoping to encourage snake hunters and the 2026 Florida Python Challenge by letting people cash in pythons for pizzas
Josh Arnold
out.
Ali Breen
Strange.
Bob Kevoian
That's a great idea.
Jeff Oskay
Wild Man's Pizza, pasta and python. And Everglades City is accepting the reptiles in exchange for free pizza.
Tom Griswold
What do you suppose Everglade City is like?
Ace Cosby
Oh, dude, can you, like, walk out
Tom Griswold
of your cabin at night? The gators and the snakes.
Bob Kevoian
Just sounds damp, though, doesn't it? Oh, yeah, absolutely moist.
Jeff Oskay
But what a great name for a business. Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and python.
Ace Cosby
And he's living up to the Wild man name. Oh, yeah, we take snakes.
Jeff Oskay
Owner Dustin Crumb told NBC Miami, I'm the first place in the world to accept python as currency. So you can trade in a python for a pizza. We do python toppings, python pizza, iguana, you know, whatever.
Ace Cosby
There are zero rules. Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
At Wildman's, customers will get to learn everything they need to know about pythons and be able to buy items made from python skin. Mr. Crumb said, I use fat to make snake oils for the skin creams and soaps, the bones. We make jewelry. Everything gets used.
Tom Griswold
So there's. They use the python fat. Like you could make french fries or whatever.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What about the fangs? Don't they have fangs?
Ace Cosby
They do.
Bob Kevoian
Pythons have fangs.
Jeff Oskay
Chick you might like.
Bob Kevoian
Oh.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, sorry. I pulled up their website. I was looking at some of their products. They have a $300 pair of Converse All Stars made out of python.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding?
Jeff Oskay
You can buy from this guy? Yeah. At Wildman.
Ace Cosby
Oh, cool.
Bob Kevoian
That's intriguing.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah. They have boots, they have belts, they have python hat bands. They have python belt buckles. They have a ton of stuff.
Tom Griswold
And what's it called again? Wild Man.
Jeff Oskay
Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and Python in Everglades.
Jess Hooker
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
It's always damp.
Tom Griswold
And right now, it's this week. Right. The. The Florida Python Challenge is happening as we speak.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And I. What does the winner get? Is it like 10,000 bucks?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, 10,000 bucks.
Tom Griswold
And you said you want to do this?
Ace Cosby
I will do it.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Jeff Oskay
Yes.
Ace Cosby
I'm going to do this at some point in my life.
Jess Hooker
Are you?
Tom Griswold
Primarily, we're operating out of a skiff of some sort.
Bob Kevoian
I'm going to tell you. I got to. I would like to do it as well, but I don't want to go at night, But I think that it seems to me to be. When you're supp. To go.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. At night.
Ace Cosby
That's not to say we can't go traipse around during the day, you know,
Bob Kevoian
because pythons don't have sunglasses.
Ace Cosby
Exactly.
Bob Kevoian
Come out.
Ace Cosby
That's why they do that.
Tom Griswold
So you. You, like, wade around in the water?
Ace Cosby
No, I don't want to get in the water. I want to stay on the land where a lot of them are.
Tom Griswold
So just like, look up in the trees and stuff?
Ace Cosby
No, on the ground, you know, mostly. So, yeah, I've watched a ton of video of it, and, you know, you'll see bushes, and you just walk around and they're in there and. Yeah, mostly on the ground.
Bob Kevoian
Well, pythons don't strike.
Ace Cosby
They do strike.
Bob Kevoian
They do.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And they can bite you, but I thought they were all that squeezing.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, they constrict, you know, Loving.
Bob Kevoian
Loving.
Tom Griswold
Do they bite you just so they get a good grip and then they squeeze?
Ace Cosby
Yeah. I mean, I don't. I. No, they bite you to get to kind of get ready to eat you. But human, they would bite more for like, hey, get the hell away from me.
Bob Kevoian
It seems to me if a python would try to constrict, I could get away. I think maybe I could.
Ace Cosby
It might if let's say one started a big one.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Really constricting your arm, your neck.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Ace Cosby
That would be the concern. The neck. It would take me and maybe another guy to really.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding.
Ace Cosby
Depending on how big it is.
Tom Griswold
Well, if it's you and I'm the other guy, I'm leaving. Chicken.
Ace Cosby
Sorry, but I don't want to get any. I want to get nearer. I might have to get near water, but I want to get in the water because of the alligators.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Ace Cosby
So.
Tom Griswold
But don't. Is not what a lot of these guys do.
Ace Cosby
They get in the I every video I've seen, they are mostly on land. So.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Any of it I would. Wild Man's.
Ace Cosby
Wild Man's Python in Everglades. Everglades City.
Tom Griswold
And check out the Sunday.
Bob Kevoian
Sunday.
Ace Cosby
So many mosquitoes.
Tom Griswold
The Chuck Taylor snake skin.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, they're actually really cool. If you.
Tom Griswold
I want to see. I'm going to look at them.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I love this guy. Has all kinds of weird pizza toppings, including python. Can you imagine going. I like the python pizza, please. Anchovies. No, I don't want it.
Ace Cosby
I don't want it to be weird. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
We're coming right Back to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning even though we're not too much to look. Look at. You can also watch the show on our YouTube channel.
Bob Kevoian
Welcome back to the Bob and Tom show in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jeff Oscar at the news desk.
Jeff Oskay
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Christy Lee on vacation. Jess Hooker under the weather. Pat Godwin, shoulder problem. He's on the disabled list and apparently is actively listening to the program. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hello.
Jeff Oskay
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
There's H. Cosby.
Ace Cosby
I'm here.
Bob Kevoian
I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Tom Griswold
Hello. Chick McGee. We just had this story about this. What is it called? Everglades City.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah. Well, it's Wild Man's Pizza, pasta and python in Everglades City.
Tom Griswold
And you recommended the website Wild Man's Pizza. They have a store there. I'll tell you what, if you've got someone you're looking for a cool gift for really? The snakeskin Converse All Stars. There, there's a. We have a picture of them now. Look at how cool those are.
Ace Cosby
Oh, they're way cooler than you'd even think. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
If you've got a like a hard to buy for. Well, I bought him more golf balls. No, no, no. Get him a pair of these babies. They're a little pricey 300 bucks but God, are they cool.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know, Tom.
Jeff Oskay
I kind of want them.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know.
Tom Griswold
Well, you're, you're, you're an elitist when it comes to shoes.
Bob Kevoian
Well wait a minute.
Tom Griswold
Whatever I wear, you. You can't stand it.
Bob Kevoian
And
Ali Breen
it's true.
Bob Kevoian
It's a love hate relationship.
Tom Griswold
No chick, you walk in, I go, got a new pair of kicks or whatever you call me. No sneakers. And he goes oh, those are plastic. I've got these, I've got these twelve hundred dollar hoofuses. Yes, they're made.
Bob Kevoian
Hoofuses are made of Portugal. They're amazing.
Tom Griswold
They're made from a fetal tissue of
Bob Kevoian
orcas and unborn pandas. That's right. The low tops are pretty cool. But see those are the women. I tend to gravitate toward women's styles and sneakers. What is that?
Ace Cosby
I think you're fine.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, they have a low top.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but oh, it's a woman's shoe. You can but converse are so just.
Tom Griswold
Do they have to unsexual license converse to get these?
Ace Cosby
Are they muster? Yeah, for that in that case.
Tom Griswold
And they've got, they've got like belts
Ace Cosby
and Tom, I, I if I will buy these but I want you to be the one to obviously to get gift them to your wife. They're python vertebrae earrings.
Tom Griswold
Have you met Kelly?
Ace Cosby
But that's what. So I'll pay for them. They're 15 bucks. They're on sale. 15 down from 25 and I will.
Tom Griswold
They're 300.
Jeff Oskay
No, no.
Ace Cosby
The python vertebrae earrings.
Bob Kevoian
Oh oh.
Ace Cosby
So I don't you. But you have to. Kelly, I got you this jewelry here. Please. It's snake back.
Tom Griswold
I don't know if she has any costume events coming up. No other the shoes are. They are super cool and they've got belts. Should we get this guy on the phone?
Bob Kevoian
I can't think of any way to
Ace Cosby
stop Wild man now.
Tom Griswold
Look, maybe tomorrow.
Jeff Oskay
See.
Tom Griswold
Can we see if you can get Wild man on the phone? And this is again this story started. This guy has a pizzeria and he if you bring in a python right
Jeff Oskay
he will trade you a pizza for a python.
Ace Cosby
Now, if he says something crazy, we can't get upset. He is wild man.
Bob Kevoian
He's wild man.
Tom Griswold
Have you seen the picture of the guy? He's holding like a 12 foot snake. And the front. When you get to the front thing of the.
Ali Breen
We could get.
Ace Cosby
God. When. A python guitar strap. Oh, they're sold out.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, all right.
Ace Cosby
I'll get myself.
Tom Griswold
Well, by the time he's back here, I'll get myself. They'll have a new crop. They'll be able to make more of them.
Bob Kevoian
Did you not hear me tell you? Pat's listening to the show.
Tom Griswold
I'm trying to. This is.
Ace Cosby
You can just buy your own python leather by the foot.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, you can.
Tom Griswold
What would you make out of it? Like a nice.
Ace Cosby
I can make a brooch or a hat.
Tom Griswold
Do they have pterodactyl?
Bob Kevoian
A pterodactyl.
Tom Griswold
Do they. I didn't look. Do they have phone cases?
Bob Kevoian
Okay, ready? 12ft of python skin, python leather by the foot. 12, 12ft. $825. That seems a little high.
Tom Griswold
But think what you could make out of it.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I couldn't make anything out of it.
Tom Griswold
No. But I mean, if you're a gifted craftsman of some sort, would you buy
Bob Kevoian
this python leather and just wear it as a scarf? Right. Right around your neck?
Tom Griswold
I've got some that will annoy you.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Jim Morrison, famously. Maybe Ace will remember this. Wore snakeskin pants.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And eventually his bandmates had to. Had to urge him to clean them or wear something else.
Bob Kevoian
They smell bad, right?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. And he kind of lived in a hotel and did. I guess bathing was secondary.
Ace Cosby
Chick, are you familiar with hey dudes? Yes, they have. He has python. Hey, dudes as well. I guess they're a loafer.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Or slip on.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Jeff Oskay
What's that guy set me back?
Ace Cosby
250.
Jeff Oskay
Oh.
Ace Cosby
So I'd go. I would spring for the Converse. If you're going to spend 250, why not spend 300?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, the slip ons, they'd be. They look. They look like slippers. Really? Yeah, but they're scary looking. That snakeskin skin is really crazy.
Ace Cosby
A good way to upcycle this. The python initiative. The stuff that's left over. Yeah, boy.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Wow. That's. Once again, it's the. The Wild man is the guy's name. And it's in Everglade City, Florida.
Jeff Oskay
Wild Man Dustin Crumb.
Ace Cosby
Good on you, Mr. Crumb.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I would like to talk to this guy. You think he'd be a loose Cannon on the air.
Bob Kevoian
Well, he's wild Tom, but he's a
Ace Cosby
savvy businessman so I bet he knows his way around a phone conversation.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe he knows just how wild. How much wild he can right be at a certain time.
Tom Griswold
And now did you see the ladies boots? The whole. The high boots. Those are pretty cool cowboy boots. This guy's got everything. Okay, I'm sorry, we're off topic. Let's move forward here. Jeff, Oscar is sitting in at the news desk today for Ms. Hooker who was sitting in for Christy Lee. And what do you got over there?
Jeff Oskay
A T. Rex fossil build as one of the world's largest and most complete specimens sold for a record $50.1 million to a mystery bidder.
Bob Kevoian
What?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, Sotheby said the 67 million year old fossil named Gus is now the most expensive set of dinosaur bones ever auctioned off. Besting the almost 45 million dollar price tag for a nearly complete stegosaurus sold back in 2024. The skeleton is approximately 61% complete, boasting 183 fossil bone elements.
Ace Cosby
That's awesome. So I don't know where skull is there.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know where I'd put that in the house. I don't have an entryway that you'd have to. It'd be in the entryway.
Tom Griswold
It's probably going to be on Bezos boat when you get on. In the.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, right in front of the dual staircase thing.
Jeff Oskay
That.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's. I hope that whoever bought it puts it in a place where kids can go see it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, I do too.
Jeff Oskay
One would hope but 61% complete doesn't sound complete enough for me.
Ace Cosby
If the skull and legs, those are the two things I'd want want in the little arms. And then you can fill in the rest with fake.
Tom Griswold
Do they.
Bob Kevoian
So they make fake bone. Do they say ceramic or something?
Ace Cosby
I'm sure.
Tom Griswold
Do they say why they named. Do they know if it's a he and they know.
Jeff Oskay
No, it just says nickname Gus.
Tom Griswold
Why don't they give it a scary name?
Ace Cosby
Because Gus is funnier. It's cool.
Tom Griswold
Anthraz the Destroyer.
Bob Kevoian
You know, you and naming things and threads.
Tom Griswold
Seen the teeth in these things?
Ace Cosby
Well, yeah, that's why Gus is a good.
Bob Kevoian
It's.
Tom Griswold
I know. So then I guess if you're gonna pay 50 million bucks for something, you don't want to say who it is. Yeah, you know, it's someone coming to your house to take your pterodactyl or whatever the hell this thing that's your T. Rex.
Bob Kevoian
Can you imagine someone able to. How would you sell it? Resell it? Offense it. Stolen a $50 million. Oh my gosh.
Jeff Oskay
Well, you could piece it out.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that's true.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. This is going to end up in like Wayne Manor, the bat cave.
Bob Kevoian
Want to buy a bone? Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
But now, coming up, we have a sexy time with Ali Breen. We're going to do today in history. Today instead of right.
Bob Kevoian
Because we already had yesterday in history earlier.
Tom Griswold
Yes. Because we forgot to do today.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, Josh, one of your favorites. A few new words.
Ace Cosby
Oh, I do like these. Yes. Yeah, they anger usually Tom and I. Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
And a 170 year old condom stash used.
Bob Kevoian
170 years old.
Jeff Oskay
Wait until.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, they found him brittle.
Bob Kevoian
I bet I can count on. This is horrible. I can count on one hand the number of times I've used a condom.
Ace Cosby
Yes. How many hands for me? I can count on one penis. The.
Bob Kevoian
Well, as you can tell, it certainly is a boy show today here on the Bob and Tom show. That's right. Yes. I. I want to hear this caterwauling.
Ace Cosby
There are no women in this building right now.
Bob Kevoian
No, it's just us. It's a real hog fest right here. Good.
Tom Griswold
Now you bet you we learned something in the last few minutes. We learned you can get a cool pair of Converse that look like they're. That are made of actual snake skin. Yeah, those are. Those are very cool.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, those are cool.
Tom Griswold
Now if I wore those in chick, would you be. Would you say those are cool?
Bob Kevoian
No, I don't care for the I. I like the look of the hey dudes better than I do the Converse convert. Don't mess with Converse, man. They make all leather Converse. Real nice.
Tom Griswold
Oh, there you go.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah. Right now normal leather, not snake leather, you weirdo.
Tom Griswold
It's kind of cool. Would you wear us like a snakeskin belt? Bring out the inner Jim Morrison in you.
Bob Kevoian
You know, I'm not a snakeskin belt guy. I'm not a belt guy. I've tried to wear belts. I don't care for a belt.
Tom Griswold
You don't wear belts.
Bob Kevoian
I don't wear a belt. I wear pants that fit me.
Tom Griswold
Also a survey.
Jeff Oskay
You have no ass Ace.
Tom Griswold
You're wearing a belt Holds them up. My ace system. You don't have a belt Ace system, Jeffrey.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, always a belt.
Bob Kevoian
Always, Josh.
Ace Cosby
Always as well.
Tom Griswold
What's your belt made of?
Ace Cosby
Leather.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, very nice leather canvas today.
Tom Griswold
Oh, alligator.
Jeff Oskay
Nice.
Bob Kevoian
Over here. All right. What? That was a gift though, right?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, of course.
Bob Kevoian
Need to have that.
Jeff Oskay
Are you. Oh, you are joking. You're really wearing an alligator right now?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, so you would wear a python belt.
Bob Kevoian
You gotta have that hog.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah. They told you that was an alligator.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's the finest leather alligator I've ever seen.
Ace Cosby
Naga hide.
Bob Kevoian
How many Nagas gave her life for that?
Tom Griswold
Is that why it melts when I get.
Bob Kevoian
Then they have for the Naga Hyde recliner. Didn't they have a Naga at one time, like a big fluffy monster? It was a Naga. Remember this?
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, the Naga.
Tom Griswold
Where is, where's the warehouse of bad commercial ideas? Old dead commercial mask.
Bob Kevoian
I'd like to get a look at that.
Tom Griswold
Well, no. Oh, I know what I want to do right now. I want to say hello to our friends at Hyundai. Hyundai. Hyundai.
Bob Kevoian
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday.
Tom Griswold
Because it's the Hyundai gateway sales event and it's also called the getaway sales event. You can get away with a deal so right that it feels wrong. Christy Lee, of course, is our Hyundai driver. They include, by the way, the bold and stylish Elantra. And that's got, of course, the latest in technology and the all electric Ioniq 5 and the Ioniq 9. It's all from Hyundai. It's the getaway sales event. It's going on as I speak. And Once again, Hyundai USA.com to get the details on a great vehicle. Now when we come back a little bit later on, it'll be a little bit of Ali Breen and sexy time. And send, send us your letters. We'll try to help out with your love life right now. I'll tell you this. Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
I, I just found something. This may or may not work.
Bob Kevoian
He's in the lab.
Tom Griswold
Coming up, a possible experiment that will fail all right.
Bob Kevoian
Jeff Oskay.
Jeff Oskay
Hey, man.
Bob Kevoian
There's Josh Arnold. Hi. Ace Cosby.
Ace Cosby
Howdy.
Bob Kevoian
Howdy do? I'm Chick. Hello. Tom.
Tom Griswold
Special edition of Today in History.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Because I screwed it up yesterday, so we had to do Yesterday in History, so. No, today we're gonna learn something immediately. First we're gonna learn that I don't know how to pronounce a lot of stuff.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
But I didn't know this. Happy birthday. Night. Excuse me. Happy birthday. 1606. Rembrandt. Did you know that that's his first name?
Bob Kevoian
I did not. What is it?
Tom Griswold
It's Rembrandt Von Ridden.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Tom Griswold
R, I, J, N. Dutch, right?
Ace Cosby
R, I, J, N. No wonder they went with Rembrandt.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Do you ever notice when you're typing and you slip and you. If you put extra Js in, it looks like you're speaking Dutch?
Bob Kevoian
Yes, but you know, there's an art collector out there who insists on calling. I have a actual Ren.
Ace Cosby
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they don't use Rembrandt.
Josh Arnold
Whatever.
Tom Griswold
I don't know, but I considered low rent. I didn't know. It's kind of like share.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, right.
Bob Kevoian
Rembrandt.
Tom Griswold
Rembrandt. Just the one name painters.
Bob Kevoian
Monet. Man.
Ace Cosby
You know, it's weird if you're Day.
Bob Kevoian
That's right.
Tom Griswold
You ever seen a Rembrandt live it in person?
Ace Cosby
Oh, if I have. I don't. I mean, I've been to a couple museums in Britain that may have had one, but I don't.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. I went to the. You know, in Holland. I went there.
Bob Kevoian
I. I didn't seek out a Rembrandt.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's amazing. But what really? Yeah. What was interesting to me was, first of all, he's famously painted like 70 pictures of himself.
Jeff Oskay
Right.
Tom Griswold
I guess he got a good deal on it. No nudes, fortunately, but.
Bob Kevoian
Well, as far as we know, people
Tom Griswold
rarely have their teeth showing.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Which is ironic.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, is that because Mona Lisa doesn't have her.
Tom Griswold
No. I mean, isn't he famous for the toothpaste?
Bob Kevoian
Rembrandt's toothpaste.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's a whitener.
Bob Kevoian
It's a white. Yeah. Rembrandt's tooth polish.
Tom Griswold
The only one I. My favorite Rembrandt, of course, is the Dogs playing Poker.
Ace Cosby
Oh, that is a good one. But he's still. He couldn't help put himself in that one either. Yeah, yeah, he's serving.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Now this. I don't know. This. This says he painted himself more than 80 times. I didn't know that.
Ace Cosby
Oh, all throughout his whole life. Yeah. I'm looking at a bunch of. Bunch of different age.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Ace Cosby
But get over yourself there, Rembry so.
Tom Griswold
Because I always thought Rembrandt was his last name, you know, like. Sure, Bill Rembrandt.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, Like Stephen Monet. Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Tom Socrates. You know, let's see now. Oh, he's. I guess he's most famous for this Tommy sock. Oh, here we go. Ah, the Rembrandts wrote the theme song to Friends. Anyone?
Ace Cosby
Yes, we know.
Tom Griswold
We start clapping any second now.
Bob Kevoian
No, you'll know.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that's great. I love that. Now, let's back to our today in History. Do you know this lady? Ariana Huffington?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
She often leaves. She often leaves affairs very upset.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yes, yes. Storms out in the. Huffington.
Tom Griswold
That's right. You heard her talk.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Very, very thick accent. And I think she sold that thing for like a billion dollars or something.
Ace Cosby
Huffington Post always sounded like a Dickens character to me.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Ace Cosby
Yes, I'm Huffington Post.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yes.
Tom Griswold
Huffing farts. It would be Huffing Fart an unfortunate name.
Ace Cosby
Is he Chick. Is he even trying.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think. I don't know. He's just. He was never a frat guy, but that's.
Ace Cosby
Huffing farts would be an unfortunate name. And you know what? It's hard to argue.
Bob Kevoian
He does this a lot in stuff you can't. You can't argue with.
Tom Griswold
Okay, how about this one? Happy birthday, Jesse Ventura.
Bob Kevoian
Look at the size of the giant.
Ace Cosby
I was once governor of Minnesota.
Bob Kevoian
I love that.
Tom Griswold
Didn't he end up living on an isolated beach in Mexico, surfing?
Ace Cosby
Oh, maybe.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, it sounds the Hulk Hogan doc on Netflix.
Ace Cosby
I've got to watch.
Bob Kevoian
He looks great. They. They talk to him.
Ace Cosby
He's great in Predator and Running Man.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, he's good.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah, he's.
Jeff Oskay
That was a really good impression, Josh.
Ace Cosby
I'll watch any interview with it.
Jeff Oskay
Just.
Ace Cosby
So, Jesse, you have trouble going through tsa? Well, it is unlawful Surgeon. See, I'm always fascinated by whatever.
Bob Kevoian
He carries the Constitution in his front pocket.
Tom Griswold
Contemporary politics. Politics. I think we're looking for more and more really crazy people.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Happy birthday. Born in 1952, Terry O'. Quinn.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, he's wonderful.
Tom Griswold
Jeff, you know who that is?
Bob Kevoian
No.
Tom Griswold
He's the bald guy in the TV show Lost by John Locke.
Bob Kevoian
What did we say today? Bone Tomahawk Edge tomorrow. And the Stepfather, though, with Terry o'.
Jeff Oskay
Quinn.
Bob Kevoian
Wonderful.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah, he's a cool actor.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, he's really good. That's. Toward the end of loss, it started getting really bad. They didn't know what to do. He was carrying around his own body in a casket.
Ace Cosby
A very important message.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
An allegory about one's own.
Bob Kevoian
They had the air lost on another night captioned with instructions on what was going on.
Ace Cosby
Well, to get new. New viewers.
Bob Kevoian
How in the hell.
Josh Arnold
Sorry.
Tom Griswold
Great guitar player, Joe Satriani. Very nice guy. He's very good, and he can play. Satriani sounds like a. Oh, here we go. Like a weird drink you'd go to at the. Tonight. We got the Satriani.
Ace Cosby
Oh, really?
Bob Kevoian
Is.
Ali Breen
Now.
Ace Cosby
Is that with actual vermouth?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, like a sarcastic martini. It tastes like ass, but we like to.
Bob Kevoian
I would.
Jeff Oskay
I would go to a bar called the Sarcastic Martini. Yeah, I'd drink there.
Bob Kevoian
What do you have?
Ace Cosby
Sartre is martini served in a bar with no exit. Wasn't that Sartre?
Ali Breen
Oh.
Tom Griswold
Oh, the Sartre. Oh, no, no. You're. You're throwing me off here. We're going from Italy to France, and I didn't even know we were on the bus.
Bob Kevoian
You. You are out of criticizing him for huffing farts.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah, I realize.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, okay.
Tom Griswold
Let's see. Happy birthday. Forest Whitaker, very fine actor.
Ace Cosby
He is good.
Tom Griswold
Is it pronounced Brigitte or Bridget Nielsen?
Ace Cosby
It's pronounced sit on my face
Bob Kevoian
as quickly as possible.
Tom Griswold
I'm sorry.
Ace Cosby
I found her to be so hot.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding.
Ace Cosby
20 years ago. Yeah. I haven't seen her recently.
Bob Kevoian
Wasn't she and Stallone?
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Well, I thought she was married to.
Ace Cosby
Flavor and her were a thing early in the 80s.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but I didn't know they got married. They got married.
Ace Cosby
I don't know. They got married. Oh, her and Flavor Flav. I don't know. They had a huge clock. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I mean, clock. Did I say clock? Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Throbbing clock.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I like this guy. Adam Savage.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, he's on Mythbusters.
Tom Griswold
Mythbusters. That sounds like a porn name, though.
Jeff Oskay
That is porny.
Bob Kevoian
He's the beret guy, right? No, he's the other guy.
Tom Griswold
He's the other guy.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, he is the other guy.
Tom Griswold
I love that show.
Bob Kevoian
What's the name of the beret guy?
Tom Griswold
Sartre.
Ace Cosby
Bix?
Bob Kevoian
Spiderman. Yeah. He huffs farts.
Ace Cosby
Renowned fart offer.
Bob Kevoian
What a mess.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Happy birthday. Oh, good friend of the show. Gabriel Iglesias. Fluffy.
Ace Cosby
He never cared for you.
Tom Griswold
Such a nice guy.
Ace Cosby
Unbelievably, incredibly nice.
Bob Kevoian
Crazy nice guy. I saw him doing a serious role on. I forget what show it was really? And I texted him. I direct messaged him on his Instagram for. He remembered who I was, thanked me.
Ace Cosby
Oh, sure. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
It was amazing. He's an amazing, wonderful, wonderful guy.
Ace Cosby
He was semi serious in the Magic Mike. Maybe the first two movies. I don't know. I didn't see the third, but yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I want to say something like the Wire or.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. What a fun comedian, man.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. And Snowfall.
Tom Griswold
His Nicknick name, of course.
Jeff Oskay
Fluffy.
Tom Griswold
Fluffy, yeah.
Jeff Oskay
He has the definitive collection of VW buses that have been restored. He has probably 60.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding.
Jeff Oskay
His warehouse, there's videos of it on YouTube.
Ace Cosby
That's awesome.
Jeff Oskay
Is awesome.
Ace Cosby
And a huge collection of cargo shorts, I believe. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
This is the new yardstick for wealth, is if you have a.
Tom Griswold
If you have a huge collection of something.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Of 60 buses at your warehouse. If you have a warehouse, you're doing all right.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I knew a guy that did that. Did that. You know him too, but he's deceased. But yeah, he had a. Oh, yeah, he had a bunch of crazy cars.
Jeff Oskay
Jeff Dunham, who we talked about earlier, he has a huge warehouse full. I think he has the Scooby Doo van. He has, I think a Batman car.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, really?
Jeff Oskay
A bunch of famous.
Tom Griswold
And he's working.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Today because he's going to be at the. Or sometime this weekend he's going to be at the ventriloquist convention going on near the Cincinnati airport.
Bob Kevoian
That's right.
Tom Griswold
That's got to be a 50th anniversary, that hotel. Just to walk into that hotel would be great.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, it would.
Tom Griswold
Because everyone's carrying around there.
Jeff Oskay
That has got to be a sausage.
Bob Kevoian
We have said for how long. This should be a running a minor plot theme to some movie that are out of ventriloquist convention. Oh yeah, Some murder takes place or something.
Tom Griswold
That'd be great.
Bob Kevoian
I'd watch that just on the synopsis.
Tom Griswold
Okay, now we. We talked about Fluffy to be, by the way, to be distinguished from a fluffer. A whole different thing.
Ace Cosby
Right. He's never.
Bob Kevoian
Now you are out in the weeds.
Tom Griswold
You know who this is? Diane Kruger.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Good actress.
Bob Kevoian
I do not.
Tom Griswold
Inglorious Basterds.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. And boy, I just saw her in something recently to a horror film.
Tom Griswold
I can't remember.
Bob Kevoian
Shoshana, Glorious bastard Kruger is German for smoke show. Oh.
Tom Griswold
Now here's one for you. Once again, Mr. Oskar, this is quiz day for. You're doing. You're doing great. Yes, the Rosetta stone was found in the Egyptian village of Rosetta and promptly co opted and sent over to England in 1799. Do you know what it is?
Jeff Oskay
A translator, actually.
Tom Griswold
That's correct.
Ace Cosby
It is correct.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. They, they, they were. There were texts of ancient languages. They were able to. That. But now it's, of course, a. What is it, a. $15 a month or something to.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Learn a language.
Tom Griswold
To learn a language.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Do they still make CD ROMs?
Ace Cosby
Boy, I don't know why they would.
Bob Kevoian
No, that's not what.
Tom Griswold
That's not how you get it. No. So I haven't seen those infomercials in a while now. This is a really easy1. In 1916, what did William Boeing do?
Ace Cosby
He invented the noise.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. When a spring makes.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Bob Kevoian
When it falls out of the.
Tom Griswold
For cartoon purposes. Yeah. He, of course, is the great Arrow Products Company.
Bob Kevoian
Why haven't they ever used the. The slogan Boeing, Boeing gone? Why haven't they done that?
Ace Cosby
I think there's a.
Tom Griswold
That sounds like the plane is just.
Bob Kevoian
No, majestically is flying off into your vacation destination.
Ace Cosby
I'm convinced this is the exact conversation that happened in a boardroom at Boeing. Steve?
Bob Kevoian
Steve, are you sitting down? I've got it. Boeing, Boeing gone. No.
Tom Griswold
And I've got a question about this next day, on this date in 1988, the great movie Die Hard was released. Did they have to go to the battery people and get. I mean, the Die Hard battery deal, Sears Die Hard.
Ace Cosby
It was a big deal.
Tom Griswold
But I don't mean you suppose they wouldn't. They have that trademarked? I mean, could you make a movie called Firestone?
Ace Cosby
I don't maybe.
Bob Kevoian
Sure, why not?
Ace Cosby
Did you know, they did have to go. This is true. They had to go to Frank Sinatra and offer him the role of John McClane because he had previously played him.
Jeff Oskay
Those.
Ace Cosby
Both those movies are based on some books and Sinatra had previously played that. That character in an earlier movie, like in the 70s. And they contractually had to, no kidding, go to Sinatra and say, hey, we're making this Die Hard, but there's a
Tom Griswold
line for you, Frank. It says, yippee, Yay, mother.
Ace Cosby
And thankfully, he went, I'm not. No, I'm not gonna do that.
Bob Kevoian
I found that movie quite by accident on a week that was just on hbo. And I'd never seen. Never heard anything about it. It was just wonder.
Ace Cosby
You somehow had never heard of Die Hard.
Bob Kevoian
Never heard of Die Hard. Been first on hbo.
Ace Cosby
What a great surprise to stumble on.
Bob Kevoian
Although that's the best way to watch a movie.
Tom Griswold
The interesting argument is it's always been, is it a Christmas movie? And I say it Is. But it was released obviously in July.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, Christmas in July. Yeah. It's another great advertising meeting.
Tom Griswold
Let's see now. Twitter launched in 2006, now called X. And my daughter Hart's favorite TV show, Stranger Things. This is amazing. That debuted in 2016.
Bob Kevoian
That's hard to believe.
Tom Griswold
So that it's. It's Hart's favorite show. And she was born just a few months before that. She's watched every episode two or three times.
Ace Cosby
So I remember the. Do you guys. Our friend Gabe Kia, comedian, was the first person to ever tell me about Twitter because I'm on. I am on this new thing called Twitter and he told me what it was and I just. And I go, well, that's just idiotic.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that's gonna go nowhere.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I remember watching Bryant Gumbel and I think Jane Pauley on Today tweeting or something explaining what it was and I was so confused.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Wow. And then there was the less, less successful Twatter.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Tom Griswold
That didn't allow men. So we're going to move forward here.
Bob Kevoian
Right?
Tom Griswold
What's up? What's coming up? I know we got Allie Breen and Sexy Time. What have you got over there, Jeffrey?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, I got some death trousers.
Ace Cosby
Oh, I wonder what those are.
Bob Kevoian
I don't want to wear those.
Jeff Oskay
We still have really old condoms, new words.
Ace Cosby
If you're trying on clothes at a store and the salesman comes up and goes, so how are you liking those death trousers? You immediately take them off?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, absolutely.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. It's kind of funny. And I think we've got. I think we have a photograph of what makes it humorous. Everybody's talking about weight loss. It seems these days the doctors at Brick House Nutrition have been working on something and it's not an injectable. It's not like an EpiPen full of stuff. It's. It's something that you consume in the old fashioned way. It's a supplement. And the idea of this supplement, which is called Lean Lean, the idea here is it's designed to lower your blood sugar, burn fat by converting it into energy and curb your appetite and cravings so you're not as hungry. And lean is not, by the way, for the casual dieter. This is designed for someone that wants to lose 10 pounds or more. The doctors at Brickhouse Nutrition have created it for frustrated dieters that want to really get something to happen for them. It's part of a course, a healthy diet and exercise program. But just find out what lean is all about and if you do it today, you can get 20% off and free rush shipping by doing something special, which is adding my name to your order. Just go. Take lean.com and tom is the code. The code word is tom. Once again, it's takelean.com. of course your weight loss results are gonna vary and lean is not designed and has not been evaluated, I should say by the fda. And lean is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Find out what it's all about. Take lean. It is once again, not a prescription injectable. It is actually a supplement. L, E A N. Once again, take lean.com. the code word is Tom. Coming up, Sexy time with Ali Breen and more delights. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Want to share a letter or comment? Our email is Bob and Tom at. At bob and tom.com
Tom Griswold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jeff Oskay at the news desk.
Jeff Oskay
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Chrissy Lee on vacation. Jess Hooker under the weather. Pat Godwin still on the disabled list. There's Josh Arnold.
Ace Cosby
Hi.
Bob Kevoian
Ace Cosby.
Jeff Oskay
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
I'm Chick. Hello. Tom.
Tom Griswold
Hello. Chick McGee.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, sir.
Tom Griswold
Sorry, trying to catch up. Over here we have Jeffrey, Oscar, as you pointed out over there at the news desk. What have you got over there?
Jeff Oskay
Historians have uncovered Victorian era condoms in a British castle. According to swns, the discovery was made while historians were cataloging more than 1300 boxes from the Grayville family archive at Warwick Castle.
Ace Cosby
Oh, I've been to Warwick Castle.
Jeff Oskay
Me and Maggie wants to go there on our honeymoon.
Ace Cosby
Oh, cool.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, we just looked at it yesterday.
Bob Kevoian
Awesome.
Jeff Oskay
That's crazy.
Tom Griswold
What is.
Bob Kevoian
Where is it?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, exactly.
Ace Cosby
Boy, I don't remember. I know. I went there with my architecture class when I went to spend a semester there.
Bob Kevoian
Warwick Castle.
Tom Griswold
And what they. And they found a bunch of old
Jeff Oskay
con three sheaves were crafted from animal intestines which would have been held up with ribbon.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, well, that's festive.
Tom Griswold
You got to tie it on.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Archivist Laura or says the previous prudish generations of staff kept them hidden. The 173 year old condoms will now go on public display alongside a collection of letters that were also uncovered in the archive. The contraceptives date back to 1853 and belong to Harry Greville, the Earl of Warwick.
Ace Cosby
All right.
Bob Kevoian
Notice the bow on the thing. Yeah, I got.
Tom Griswold
Doesn't, doesn't. Doesn't Condom Castle sound like the worst store at the mall, like the worst gig.
Bob Kevoian
You say more because they've been used before.
Tom Griswold
Welcome to Condom Castle. They make the guy wear, like, a jester suit.
Ace Cosby
Dost thou require a magnum?
Tom Griswold
We also sell wallets that hold. Do they carry wallets back in the day?
Ace Cosby
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
I'm seeing some sort of pouch.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Their coin.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. They wore around their belts.
Tom Griswold
I mean, did the Earl of Warwick have a. Like a circular thing on his wallet? I wondered. Oh, here's a photograph of them.
Bob Kevoian
Yikes.
Tom Griswold
They look like old envelopes.
Ace Cosby
They do look somewhat bejizzed.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know if that's a word,
Tom Griswold
Josh, but now I would assume. And I'm. Don't you. I would assume they'd be reused, probably. I would think they'd be, you know, Donnie Baker style. Hanging from the. Hanging. Hanging from the shower rod.
Jeff Oskay
And you tie it on with a ribbon.
Ace Cosby
That's what it's not like, but yeah. There's no elastic around the end, so that's crazy.
Jeff Oskay
Huh?
Tom Griswold
Has anybody ever made condoms like those Chinese finger traps?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that's funny as a gag, but the.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, you'd have to have the other hole closed, too, so maybe.
Tom Griswold
No, what I meant was you'd put it on and it wouldn't come off.
Ace Cosby
Oh, that. Just that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Well, if you ever grab it from the tip and just try to pull it off. That's what it feels like.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. It's like taking off my swim shirt.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, a little bit.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
A line of pants from the clothing company Zara are going viral for making women faceplant. Victims have taken to social media to complain about their problems with the flowing wide leg pants dubbed the Zara Death Trousers.
Ace Cosby
We keep tripping in these is the complaint.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
One woman shared a video of her scraped gravel covered hands shortly after tripping over her pants.
Ace Cosby
Scraping your palms.
Jeff Oskay
And another posted footage of herself exiting her garage and face planning in her driveway.
Ace Cosby
Used to hate when I'd fall and scrape my palms and pull the hair out.
Tom Griswold
They're super baggy.
Bob Kevoian
Pushed on the playground and they go.
Tom Griswold
I mean, come on, couldn't you hem them a little bit? Yeah, they. They're touching the ground.
Bob Kevoian
Well, why are they? Yeah, you're going to get your hems
Tom Griswold
all dirty and they're so belled out, they're going to end up being in front of your toes.
Ace Cosby
It makes sense that they. People are tripping in the. Our women are tripping in those. Yeah, women be tripping.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah. They're like the old rave jeans Gencos. Or Jean Co.
Ace Cosby
They're like, almost what, like a genie would wear, but without that Alaska elastic ankle.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Well, they're part of their fall line. Surprise. They're out. Well, this is. This is kind of a negative story.
Bob Kevoian
Probably shouldn't do. Well, you're, like, going back now.
Tom Griswold
I don't want to make fun of people losing their jobs. Never any fun.
Ace Cosby
No, it isn't. But is it an important story or.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Microsoft is cutting 4,800 jobs, 2% of its global workforce, it says, because the company's investing in artificial intelligence. Did you know that a friend of mine worked. If you get fired at Microsoft, they don't show you the door, they show you the windows.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Defenestration is big.
Bob Kevoian
Don't jump. Window fenestration.
Tom Griswold
Do you know what defenestrating means?
Bob Kevoian
It's the windows, Right.
Tom Griswold
If you.
Bob Kevoian
If the way they're arranged.
Tom Griswold
If someone defenestrates, it means they've jumped up the window.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Or you can. You can defenestrate a printer if you throw it out the window.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, okay.
Ace Cosby
But fenestration is the window arrangement.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Fenestration. What a wi. How it's so odd that there's a word for that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
A bunch of nerds.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's one of those words. Architecture. Architecture critics, which is a pretty small group, they like to use. Oh, you'll see the fenestration. What else you got over there?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, we got some new words. I know. This is. Get out your pens and your.
Bob Kevoian
Very important writing. Very important.
Jeff Oskay
Cambridge dictionary is. Added three new phrases to its database. Excellent.
Ace Cosby
Excellent.
Jeff Oskay
The first one. Engagement pod. Do you want to try to guess what it is?
Bob Kevoian
Engagement pod. Oh, it's where you meet someone in a pod. Right.
Jeff Oskay
A group of people who agree to, like, share and leave positive comments on each other's social media posts to make the other look more popular.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Ace Cosby
I was unaware of that.
Bob Kevoian
Huh?
Ace Cosby
Engagement pod. So, because engagement leads to.
Jeff Oskay
Right.
Ace Cosby
Monetization.
Jeff Oskay
So if Josh posts. I like and comment on all his stuff he likes and comments on mine, thus getting in more algorithms so that more people will see our posts.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Tom Griswold
No one's using the term engagement.
Ace Cosby
I think those people who spend their time liking and, yeah, checking their likes might, but. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Are you in my engagement pot? I doubt it.
Jeff Oskay
Now, I've never heard of this. A dopamine site.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I read about that not too long ago.
Jeff Oskay
Really?
Tom Griswold
Is this. Is this the thing where you. It's like pretend shopping.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
A fake shopping site that mimics the experience of browsing and adding items to a cart so users can get the pleasure of shopping without spending money. That's just called my Amazon cart.
Ace Cosby
Where you never actually hit. Yes.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, the other day I looked at my Amazon cart is like $2,200.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
And I was like, don't accidentally buy that.
Ace Cosby
A lot of saving for later.
Jeff Oskay
Oh yeah. Lady pants.
Tom Griswold
So this is like so like alcohol free beer kind of.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh yeah.
Tom Griswold
I mean those. So people who they can fantasy shop is.
Jeff Oskay
That sounds stupid.
Ace Cosby
I wonder if it helps for people who are so called shopaholics.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Ace Cosby
When you're addicted to shopahol.
Tom Griswold
No, I just. I knew I'd read about this. Here's the article. It says Internet users are turning to so called dopamine sites to get the thrill of making an online purchase without spending any money. It says, Josh, you're old hometown. The trend began in South Korea. Weird spread to all over the Internet, so. Oh, and for an extra fee, they'll send an empty box to your house.
Ace Cosby
Is that okay? You got me on that. Sorry.
Bob Kevoian
I was like, this is just crazy enough to be true.
Tom Griswold
I haven't read the whole thing. I was just. I just remember reading about this. What an odd. Odd. And there's. Is there one more new word?
Jeff Oskay
Yeah. Clipping economy.
Bob Kevoian
Clipping economy.
Tom Griswold
Okay. I know this is not coupons.
Jeff Oskay
No. An online economy based on creating and sharing short video clips to increase views and make. Make money.
Bob Kevoian
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
Ace Cosby
Gotcha.
Tom Griswold
Do you still clip coupons, Ace? Is that something or are they all. No, digital. They're all digital. You have to print them or you just show them your phone on the phone. Okay.
Jeff Oskay
But you do have to clip them onto your phone. Like at least with the.
Bob Kevoian
Well, some of the things.
Jeff Oskay
The place I go to and it's like, just give me the savings. Like.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, scan my card. And the savings should all be.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, I shouldn't have to move something over into a coupon folder back in the day.
Tom Griswold
I bet Chick remembers this one. Did your mom ever use green stamps?
Bob Kevoian
Oh yeah, my grandmother. And you'd have those books, top value and green stamps. S and H. Green stamps, I think.
Tom Griswold
And I think they put stuff. We'd have to lick the stamps. I think they put the stuff that would prevent you from reproducing. I think it was a conspiracy.
Bob Kevoian
It was like 30 books and you could get a floor lamp or something.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, so you like trade. Was there a book that you got to go through like a Sears catalog?
Bob Kevoian
Oh yeah, they had a catalog and they had the Stamp books that you would save your stamps.
Jeff Oskay
Cool.
Bob Kevoian
And everything was a number of books. Wonder store. There might have been stores in certain places.
Ace Cosby
Actual brick and mortar green stamp place.
Tom Griswold
This is totally unrelated and I apologize. What the last one was called What? Clipping. What now?
Jeff Oskay
It was called clipping economy. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Is clipping still a thing in the NFL? Is that.
Bob Kevoian
I was just thinking about that the other day.
Tom Griswold
Sure it is. Or is it just illegal block?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, there's one. If a defensive lineman's engaged with one offensive lineman, another offensive lineman can't come and block him as well or something like that. But I'm sure clipping is still a thing because that's. That's a knee injury.
Ace Cosby
Right?
Tom Griswold
They call it that.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
And then speaking of clipping, Josh here
Bob Kevoian
is still 15 yards.
Tom Griswold
I bet Josh is going to be clipping off his beard.
Ace Cosby
Oh, actually, Jeff is.
Tom Griswold
What did I say? I'm sorry. Oh, Jeff is. You've already trimmed yours.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yours is very nice. Look this way for one second. Oh, yeah. The whole. The bottom is now all even white.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. It did kind of start on one side.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. It's moved on over. Very good. I like it when you're more symmetrical.
Ace Cosby
I do, too.
Bob Kevoian
That's helpful. I think it was dark days when it wasn't. I don't know that.
Tom Griswold
Jeffrey.
Bob Kevoian
Thank God those are over.
Tom Griswold
You're trimming that baby back.
Jeff Oskay
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
Tonight, right?
Jeff Oskay
Yes, sir.
Bob Kevoian
I can't wait.
Tom Griswold
Are you gonna videotape it?
Ace Cosby
Yeah. That was a Please. Shut up if I've ever heard one.
Bob Kevoian
Jeff's up for it.
Tom Griswold
I know that.
Jeff Oskay
Whatever you want.
Tom Griswold
Is your son in town?
Jeff Oskay
He's not.
Tom Griswold
Oh, darn it. Because I know he's quite the videographer.
Jeff Oskay
Yes. I will set up a camera and videotape it for you.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Okay. I really want to see it.
Bob Kevoian
If you say so, Jeff.
Tom Griswold
That way you can do. You can do cool stuff halfway through the trimming.
Ace Cosby
All right.
Jeff Oskay
We'll have fun.
Tom Griswold
Okay. I'm really looking forward to this. So thank you very much. I'm also looking forward to Ali Breen and a little bit of sexy time coming up. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
More of the show is on the way. You can find us on X at Bob and Tom or you can email us at bob and tomobandtom.com.
Bob Kevoian
welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios there. Jeff. Oscar.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
He's at the news desk. Christy Lee on vacation. Jess Hooker. Under the weather. There's Jess Galzman. Hey, there's Josh Arnold.
Ace Cosby
Hi there.
Bob Kevoian
There's Ace Cosby. Hello, hello. Hello. I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Chick McGee.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, we got a. We got a broad in here now, huh?
Tom Griswold
Wait.
Bob Kevoian
Hey Tom.
Tom Griswold
It's been kind of a sausage fest. Yes indeed this morning because at the last minute Ms. Hooker got ill and Christie's on vacation. So good luck.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I'm excited about it.
Tom Griswold
Oh, okay. Now we have us as you can see sitting in, in the ladies chair over there. It's very hairy.
Jeff Oskay
Jeff.
Tom Griswold
Oscar.
Bob Kevoian
Very hairy.
Tom Griswold
What have you got?
Jeff Oskay
You guys like the movie Spaceballs very much? Yeah, I'm a big fan. Australian Space Agency says several mysterious orbs that washed up along a Queensland beach are so called Spaceballs.
Ace Cosby
What are these?
Jeff Oskay
The Australian Broadcast Corporation reports the initial discovery of the objects prompted a response from firefighters from clad in hazmat suits. As well as creating an exclusion zone. The so called Spaceballs aren't satellites or alien technology. They're incredibly tough bowling ball sized pressure tanks used inside rockets to store gases like helium. The tanks often survive re entry and occasionally wash up on beaches, making them one of the most common pieces of space junk found on Earth.
Ace Cosby
I see.
Tom Griswold
They're really. It looks like something from the day the Earth stood still, huh?
Bob Kevoian
It looks like a Christmas tree ornament. A giant.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, giant and metal with.
Bob Kevoian
There's even a place where the, the hook would go, right?
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Nicely welded seam. Yeah, they're. They're kind of crazy looking.
Ace Cosby
I. Are you. I wonder if they're just free to take. Yeah, like if you find one, you go okay, I can keep it.
Bob Kevoian
Well, there's your movie. And they. Late one night it cracks open.
Ace Cosby
Oh no.
Tom Griswold
This is iron giant testicles.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. Superman. That's right. They're.
Tom Griswold
I. I don't. What I don't understand about them is are they whatever, inert or whatever now that the. I guess the gases still be in them?
Bob Kevoian
They're empty.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, I would think they're like empty propane tanks.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know if anyone caught that, but I mean are they. Gas is being empty and Josh said this reply.
Tom Griswold
Oh, oh, I see.
Bob Kevoian
You see, Children, Children, for a man
Tom Griswold
of a certain age. I'll tell you about this, Jessica. Space balls is the distance between the water. It's the space between the water and. Never mind.
Jess Hooker
When does that start to happen? The descent?
Bob Kevoian
Well, 50s.
Tom Griswold
I don't know. I mean Hemingway famously blew his brains out once. His balls.
Ace Cosby
I Don't know that that's famous.
Bob Kevoian
That's not what happened.
Jeff Oskay
53. I'm still high and tight.
Jess Hooker
That's good.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah. Mine don't.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, let me tell you something. I might screw them nice and snug. I'll. I'll stack my scrotum up against any guys.
Tom Griswold
Might hurt.
Bob Kevoian
Damn right.
Tom Griswold
They might be romantic.
Jess Hooker
These are all low flow though now, right? So they have like lower water levels than before.
Tom Griswold
I don't know if that was designed.
Bob Kevoian
What am I at a plumbing convention?
Tom Griswold
They've designed it specifically so that men don't get too depressed.
Jess Hooker
You feel better about it.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, but there are surgeries in which guys have them raised.
Bob Kevoian
I think that would hurt more than the actual dunking into the water, right?
Tom Griswold
Oh, of course.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Who'd want to get that done?
Bob Kevoian
You couldn't bend over for a while.
Ace Cosby
Raise the Testicle was a Clive Cussler.
Tom Griswold
Yes, it was good. The book was better than the movie.
Bob Kevoian
It wasn't Jackie Gleason and Raised the testicle or the river or something. Wasn't that a movie? Jerry Lewis.
Tom Griswold
So we don't know. So these things, these so called Spaceballs that are like big metal bowling balls are in theory all empty.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, they're safe. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
How much longer you think Mel Brooks has got? He's on 100, I hope forever.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, well, he lives at least to see Spaceballs 2. He's in. It comes out in March.
Bob Kevoian
It says the new. The new one, yes. What it used to say or does say now. Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
A Michigan man is delighting the Internet once again after his giant banana car was spotted in Montana. KB ZK reports kzbc. Okay, brief waits. Big banana car was pulled over near Billings when he was driving towards Seattle. While no ticket was issued, troopers snapped a photo of the unusual vehicle and shared it onto social media, which drew thousands of reactions.
Ace Cosby
The driver said, oh, you just wanted a photo? I swallowed all my drugs for nothing.
Bob Kevoian
Now you tell me.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I keistered four pounds of marijuana.
Jeff Oskay
Mr. Braithwaite told the station the world is seriously low on whimsy right now. And driving around in a banana, it could just brings it out.
Ace Cosby
Careful, guys. Tom really wants his guy.
Tom Griswold
I want this guy to come here. We tried to get him here.
Bob Kevoian
He uses words like whimsy in conversation.
Tom Griswold
It's a giant banana car. What's wrong with you?
Jeff Oskay
You're gonna love this more chick. He recently downsized his life, sold everything
Ace Cosby
he owns, and now he drives a plantain car. Damn you. Smaller bananas.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that's right.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jess Hooker
I got.
Tom Griswold
I gotta. I got an attempt at a joke. I want to see if this works.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, okay, Good.
Tom Griswold
The car is a giant banana. Jessica Alsman.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
His vanity plate is 4, 0, 1, 1.
Ace Cosby
We hate this. We hate this.
Tom Griswold
You get the joke?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, that's right.
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Ace Cosby
And you.
Jess Hooker
You know what?
Ace Cosby
You like that we don't. You like that people don't get the joke?
Tom Griswold
It's because that just shows my level of sophistication versus yours. But you know who's going to get the joke is Ace. I guarantee it.
Bob Kevoian
It's a comment because we talk about it every week.
Ace Cosby
Of course he's going to get it.
Tom Griswold
No, Ace is the one that, when I first mentioned it, he understood it.
Ace Cosby
Well, he doubted it, and then he
Bob Kevoian
verified it very much.
Tom Griswold
Oh, really?
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Someone tell me what it means.
Ace Cosby
Oh, when you go to any grocery store.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Pick out the vegetables.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
That's the code you put in there. Apparently it's some national code for banana.
Tom Griswold
The code.
Bob Kevoian
That's it.
Tom Griswold
I mean, you go shopping for your man and you don't know that 4011 is the banana code?
Jess Hooker
I might as well put binary code on the license plate to say something else.
Tom Griswold
Do you. Do you check out. Do you use the self checkout?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, but I don't buy fruits and vegetables. It's usually in a can. Like the fruit.
Ace Cosby
Oh, I love canned bananas.
Bob Kevoian
Thankfully. That's an idea. Whose time's come?
Jess Hooker
Johnny does the shopping.
Tom Griswold
Oh, really? Okay.
Jess Hooker
He really does.
Bob Kevoian
I could eat a whole can of bananas.
Tom Griswold
You use the self checkout, right?
Bob Kevoian
I do, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
You got to know the. You got to know the codes for bananas.
Ace Cosby
I just look it up. All right. Just hit B.
Jess Hooker
Can't you just scan it?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, oftentimes you can just scan, you
Bob Kevoian
know, but that's a tough. That's a tough gamble. You don't know when to get the bananas and they're. They're bad. Before you get them home or they're too ripe, you gotta wait and then you wait for the fruits of gambling.
Ace Cosby
I know that going in,
Tom Griswold
especially right now. I recommend bagged lettuce.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, I saw a American shopping in Norway the other day and they made a video next to the avocado pile. They had a little scanner. You put the avocado up next to it, it tells you how ripe it is.
Jess Hooker
That's cool.
Ace Cosby
Crazy.
Jeff Oskay
How do we not have that in America? Invention ever, that technology?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that is amazing.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah. And it told. It was like five different, like firm but still ripe. Ripe and moist or soft and it gave you the breakdown. Exactly.
Tom Griswold
Jim Gaffigan's joke about going to Whole Foods and getting avocados and just throwing them in the wastebasket as you leave.
Ace Cosby
I'm great at it. I am genuinely skilled.
Bob Kevoian
Sing your praises on picking avocado.
Ace Cosby
I can pick out. Let's say I want four avocados for the week. I can pick them out so that they'll be ripe on the day I want.
Jess Hooker
Oh, wow.
Ace Cosby
Yes.
Jeff Oskay
You have something to do when this is over?
Jess Hooker
You can stand in the grocery, people pay you and tip you. Is this ripe or not? Yes.
Ace Cosby
You'll be avocado boy.
Bob Kevoian
You could be a private shopper and. And a specialist on your card.
Tom Griswold
And I know.
Ace Cosby
Change my name to Alvocado.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And I know I. I don't want to say it out loud because the code for avocados is also your PIN number.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
So, yeah, that's. That's how avocado. Savvy. Savvy.
Jeff Oskay
Six, nine, six, nine.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, that's weird.
Tom Griswold
Now, coming up, it's gonna be sexy time with Ali Breen. Your love troubles, we'll help you out with them, sort of. We try our best. Right now, I want to help you out with your money. American Financing. What do they do? Will they help you refinance your home? If you own your home, say you've owned your house for like five years, it's probably worth 30 to 40% more. If you've lived in the same place for 10 years and you own it, it's probably doubled in value. But you don't have to sell it to take advantage of that. You can refinance it and take some of that cash out, do whatever you want with it, maybe pay off some of those high interest credit cards, put in a new kitchen, whatever it might be. But to find out what that would entail, why not check out American Financing.net. they have a staff there that can help you with your mortgage questions, and they can also talk to you about doing a refi. Right now, their average client is saving about 800 bucks a month. So you can grab some of the equity in your house without actually selling it. The experts are at American Financing, and I should say this, they are salaried consultants. So there's going to be no big push, no upfront fees, no pressure. Once again, it's American Financing. You'll find them at 806-6-889-2611. Or it's a lot easier to remember this American financing.net and do me a favor. Make it American financing.net bobandtom and they'll know who sent you. And we're happy to do that. Once Again, it's American financing.net NMLS 182334 NMLSConsumerAccess.org Average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.
Bob Kevoian
That's what. Welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jeff Oskay.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
There's Jessica Alsman. Hey, there's Josh Arnold.
Ace Cosby
Comedy
Tom Griswold
in search of.
Ace Cosby
He said it was funny.
Bob Kevoian
I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Jess Hooker
Boys are gross.
Tom Griswold
Ladies, could we move forward here? Now, I believe we're having another lady getting on the line. We're looking for Ally Breen. There we go.
Ace Cosby
We did that for Ally because she's one of the world's most renowned female belchers.
Bob Kevoian
Is that right?
Ali Breen
That's new for me.
Tom Griswold
Comedian Ally Breen is our guest. The show is called Sexy Time. And, Ali, are you in Florida or England?
Ali Breen
I'm in Florida and I forgot my tripod, so I'm trying to make this work.
Ace Cosby
There we go.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, we can see you.
Ali Breen
Perfect.
Tom Griswold
You look very nice.
Bob Kevoian
Of course.
Ali Breen
Thank you. Thank you.
Tom Griswold
When are you going? Now. You've got this new boyfriend in England, right?
Ali Breen
Yes, I do.
Tom Griswold
That's still happening. And when are you going back to see him?
Ali Breen
The end of the month around the. I've chosen Reno the 24th and the 25th, and I'm going straight to England from there.
Tom Griswold
Wow. Nonstop.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Once again, in your private time, you rob banks, is that right?
Ali Breen
Yes, I do.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
The way the show works is you can find Ali Breen A L L I B R E E N on your favorite social media platform, Send. Send her your letters and we'll try to fix your love problems. What have we got?
Ali Breen
For starters, dear Allie, me and my boyfriend split everything equally. Rent, bills, dinner, entertainment. He makes a lot more than me, and I never complain. But at dinner, he usually orders more expensive things and gets two or three more drinks than I do. So I did bring that up and he said, oh, I didn't know we were itemizing things. Making me feel cheap. But isn't he being cheap, making me subsidize his drinking and eating.
Tom Griswold
If he's having an extra three drinks every night, he may need to see alcohol.
Bob Kevoian
Counselor getting a program, there might be bigger problems.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that seems kind of unreasonable to me.
Ace Cosby
I can't relate to this guy. I don't know. Why is he making you Pay for half the meal.
Jess Hooker
If anything, separate it by a percentage of your salary. Like, if he makes a lot more, shouldn't he be doing, like, 70 and you're doing 30%?
Jeff Oskay
Exactly.
Jess Hooker
But that's.
Tom Griswold
That's a little bit.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Would it be a little more dating
Ace Cosby
Bernie Sanders
Jess Hooker
Want to contribute, but you also don't want to be, like, cool.
Tom Griswold
It'd be a little more elegant to go, okay, I'll tell you what. Every third. I'll pay for every third meal. Yeah, well, rather than going, okay, let's see, what 70% of $64 the guy
Ace Cosby
needs to pay for all the. Me.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Or just go Dutch, like, just pay for yourself. And then.
Tom Griswold
Do you ever see them? Ever see the play Lysistrata? What she does is she withhold sex until he starts paying for everything. Right. Am I getting it right?
Ace Cosby
You've got. It's Lysistra, so you got that wrong. But yes.
Tom Griswold
Oh, no, it's. It's. It's lice. Like body lice. Because. Because famously, all the women had the crabs. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I don't know. I think this is ridiculous.
Bob Kevoian
Aren't you a team? Can't you be a team?
Ali Breen
Yes, exactly.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
I don't get it. Yeah, we're with you, ma'. Am. We are with you.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
How do you fix. How do you fix it? How do you fix it, though?
Jess Hooker
When the waiter comes, go two checks. There you go.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
And if he gets mad about it, like, calm down. What's the problem?
Ace Cosby
That's actually not a bad answer.
Jess Hooker
I'm paying for money.
Tom Griswold
These will be separate checks, and you just pissed. You just pissed off the server.
Ace Cosby
Well, then don't be a surface server. I've never understood that.
Tom Griswold
Are you a separate checks guy?
Ace Cosby
If I. If I'm not necessarily a separate checks guy. But when that happens, I don't want any complaints from the help.
Bob Kevoian
Remember that I had a problem with Bonnie? Remember this? A couple weeks ago, I ordered my fried pickles out of order, and I thought she was going to hit me with her little. A little Kendall device there. She was a putting her order in.
Ali Breen
You should order the fried pickles. You can't order them at a certain point.
Bob Kevoian
I didn't order them first. I ordered my entree and said, hey, I'd like some fried pickles. Well, I have to go back now, is what she said. I got to go back. It was a whole scene.
Tom Griswold
Let's move on. Here in the Bob and Hunt program, we are presenting Sexy Time with Ali Breen. What's Our next problem.
Ali Breen
Dear Allie, my girlfriend is a masseuse. The other day, I had to go into her underwear drawer to get a pair of socks, and there was a stack of money in there. I said, whoa, what's this? And she said she puts all of her tips in there, but that seems like a lot. Do you think she's giving happy endings?
Ace Cosby
No.
Ali Breen
And should I ask her if she does?
Bob Kevoian
Yes. Happy ending?
Ace Cosby
No, you dummy.
Bob Kevoian
It's the only thing can generate a tip like this.
Ace Cosby
You know what? I am with you on this chip.
Jeff Oskay
Yes.
Ace Cosby
Confront her and accuse her of.
Bob Kevoian
Is that what you want?
Ace Cosby
Of given age? Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
My ex wife, actually, when we were married, she was a professional masseuse, and there was like, comics would come in town and they, oh, my back's hurting. I'm like, oh, my. My wife's a masseuse. You should go see her. You know, a hundred dollars for a massage. They're like, does that include the happy ending? I was like, guess what? You don't get a massage from my wife.
Tom Griswold
Then you would do it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, I'll do it.
Jeff Oskay
If you.
Bob Kevoian
You know how comedians are.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah. They aren't scummy at all.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
This is ridiculous.
Ace Cosby
It is. You don't know how. How that could be a year's worth of tips in there. You have no idea.
Bob Kevoian
You're an idiot, sir.
Jeff Oskay
Well, I mean, if you tip 20, 30 bucks on massage and she gives five massages a day after a week, that's a bunch of cash.
Ace Cosby
I know. Yeah. No, this guy's. Yeah, yeah.
Ali Breen
This guy's jumping in conclusion.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, I think he.
Ali Breen
Wait, Jeff, when you were dating, you were with your wife. Did she give you massages all the time, or was it one of those things?
Jeff Oskay
She was too exhausted when she was training. Yes. But once she did it for a living, I never saw another one. I get it. Like, I landscaped. I didn't want to go home and plant roses.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay, makes sense. Now, how do you know if a masseuse is doing the. The happy endings? Just what's the trick?
Ali Breen
Yes. I always wonder that too. How do you broach that?
Bob Kevoian
I believe it's something to do with the towel. Am I right on this?
Ace Cosby
The towel.
Tom Griswold
Is there some kind of a code?
Bob Kevoian
I think there might be. Yeah. That's the feeling I get. I'm not. I'm basing this on.
Ali Breen
Absolutely, though, like, you take the towel off of yourself. Is it that obvious?
Bob Kevoian
Or half. Half staff? Possibly. I'm not sure.
Ace Cosby
Somebody write us anonymously. And tell us what the codes are.
Tom Griswold
But wouldn't you get arrested for 10?
Ali Breen
That's one way.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, maybe when you roll over, the towel goes askew and if she corrects it quickly. Yes.
Ace Cosby
Then you know that probably things are off the table.
Tom Griswold
But is there some kind of, like, code in the sign out front?
Jess Hooker
I think when you book your appointment, you just say, I'm not a cop. And then they're like, okay, Then they can offer it up.
Ace Cosby
When I lived in South Korea, I would see these places. There would be barbershop. Those barbershop poles on the outside of buildings, like in between restaurants and stuff. And I'd lived there for a couple months and finally the guy worked with it goes, you know what those barbershop poles are? And I go, no. And he goes, those are happy ending places.
Bob Kevoian
Oh.
Ace Cosby
And I was like, are you kidding me? Because they were everywhere. Wow, that's great.
Tom Griswold
So it's a shave and a haircut.
Josh Arnold
Bj.
Tom Griswold
That's really interesting.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Ali Breen
Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. I wonder if that's still the case. Because if not, all the listeners who are in South Korea right now are going to be running to those places,
Tom Griswold
seeing how it is.
Ace Cosby
We went to one nice haircut and I got a massage. And when it came time for the other stuff, I passed because it was an open room with like eight cots and I was right next to this other guy and he was getting the extra stuff. I literally looked over and she was on top of him.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Yeah.
Ali Breen
Wait, that's a lot of extra stuff.
Bob Kevoian
What a glorious place to live.
Ace Cosby
Oh, I went, get me out of here. So then I paid for my just shoulder rub or whatever and stood outside waiting for my buddy.
Tom Griswold
And I have a question. Have you ever seen that thing at the airport? Some airports now where they've got like the masseuse right there in the hallway.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Some shopping malls, a relaxation break or something.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Maybe I'm just too self conscious. Do you think you could. Could you do that?
Ace Cosby
No, I wasn't interested in that. But I see why people would get
Jeff Oskay
a happy ending at the mall.
Ace Cosby
No, no, just a regular.
Tom Griswold
Oh, I was talking about.
Bob Kevoian
Just kidding. You'd have your face buried down in that weird pillow.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah.
Ali Breen
They'd have a hard time getting you the happy ending.
Ace Cosby
I get why people do that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I get why they do it. I just think I'm too self.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Now, shoe shine.
Bob Kevoian
I think. Why?
Ace Cosby
See, I'd be way more self conscious about a shoe shine.
Tom Griswold
I Love getting my shoes.
Bob Kevoian
I think guys do this because of the orgasm, I think. Is that why they do that?
Ace Cosby
Mostly, yeah. That's the part that feels real good.
Tom Griswold
Okay, Ali Breen is our guest. Ali is a very fine comedian.
Bob Kevoian
Four stars.
Tom Griswold
When are you going to be in Reno, Ellie?
Ali Breen
I'm going to be in Reno at the Carson nugget on the 24th and 25th of July. And then tomorrow I'm going to be in Claremont at the station in Florida.
Jeff Oskay
Cool.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Ali Breen
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay. Now, are you in a hotel, or is that the condo you're rehabbing?
Ali Breen
It's the Airbnb. Yeah, it's the condo. I mean, it's actually a house. You always say condo. It's a house.
Tom Griswold
Okay. It looks very nice.
Bob Kevoian
We know what words are. Okay.
Tom Griswold
Okay, let's get to our next letter. Allie.
Ali Breen
Dear Allie, my boyfriend always says when he sees a hot girl, that that's his hall pass. I get that it's a joke, but isn't it insulting that he basically keeps telling me all the girls he wants to bang? I don't do that to him, but maybe I should start.
Tom Griswold
Oh, absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. He's a jerk.
Ace Cosby
I'll tell you this. I. I think this is a sign of a guy who is not cheating on you. The guy. The guy who's cheating doesn't joke about who he. Who else he wants to bang. So I think. I really do believe you can take some comfort in that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. But if you find it offensive, I. You know, what's good for the goose is good for the gander or whatever. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I don't know, Josh. He sounds pretty dumb, so he might actually cheat on her with one of these girls?
Ali Breen
Because.
Jess Hooker
Why would you keep saying that to your girlfriend? Like, oh, she's hot. I'd bang her.
Ace Cosby
You know, I don't know why he
Jess Hooker
would, if that's cool with you.
Ali Breen
Don't guys get one? Isn't it a one hall passing? Say that for every hot girl you see.
Ace Cosby
No, no, that's not how that works. You're exactly right. And usually it's reserved for famous people.
Jeff Oskay
And not your sister.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Not the lady who lives next door.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Does gardening, hanging.
Ace Cosby
The guy's asking for her to be upset. That's for sure.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, please.
Ali Breen
Yeah. He's trying to start.
Jeff Oskay
I feel like, though, if he's doing that, he's trying to be funny.
Ace Cosby
He is.
Bob Kevoian
On some level.
Jeff Oskay
And she doesn't.
Ace Cosby
She even admitted it. I know he's joking, but, God, break up.
Jess Hooker
He's not funny. He Just sounds terrible.
Bob Kevoian
That's as good a reason as any to break up.
Ali Breen
Yeah, that is true. And once again, if she actually laughed at the first one and then he does it 10 more times for her to be like, all right, I laughed the first time. Can we stop?
Ace Cosby
Let's knock this off.
Jess Hooker
We get it. You're not funny.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
All righty, let's move on. You can reach Ali Reen, by the way. Excuse me. A L L I B R E E N on your favorite social media platform. What you got?
Ali Breen
Allie, by the way, can I just say, there were Bob and Tom fans that came out to the last Florida show who are awesome, but whenever people see me now, they go A L L I B R E
Bob Kevoian
hilarious.
Tom Griswold
Do you want to find her or not?
Ali Breen
I mean, yeah, I love it.
Ace Cosby
She's not criticizing it.
Bob Kevoian
She's fucking.
Ali Breen
Yeah. No, I love it. It's become my trademark, apparently. Dear Allie, my wife and I are trying to get pregnant and sex has gone from really, really hot to really not. Instead of sexy time talk, it's turned into impregnation talk and baby talk and it's killing my boner. I tried to tell her and she got upset that planting a baby doesn't excite me. Well, not like that. And see what I mean?
Ace Cosby
Well, Mr. Killing My Boner, I'm not too convinced your sexy talk is all that sexy.
Bob Kevoian
You know what I mean on that, Josh? It kills the boner.
Ace Cosby
You don't want to murder my ding dong.
Bob Kevoian
What the hell? So this skirt comes in and she
Tom Griswold
says, hey, look, I thought I don't want to spill any on my muscle shirt. That's right.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, well, no, that's what kind of happens. I get it. I bet every guy gets this when you are trying, right? It can.
Tom Griswold
I'm sure it would really upset the guy who said, hey, listen, can you come home during your lunch break? I'm going to be ready. Oh, sorry, no, I can't. I'm having a ham and cheese sandwich I've been worried about all day. I go, okay, go home.
Ace Cosby
An honest answer I think is a quick Google search of how to keep things exciting in the bedroom while trying to conceive. I honestly. It sounds clunky, but I think you're going to get some good advice on
Tom Griswold
from real professionals that's going to land you on a website.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I promise you, Chat GPT will spit it right out.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Ali Breen
How about you be dirty about impregnating someone still?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, of course.
Tom Griswold
I got a couple of tips for the Guy. First of all, careful. Careful where you go. There's a variety of places where you can have your little sperm party.
Bob Kevoian
Is that right? Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The headboard wouldn't be one of them to get her pregnant. Is that right?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. You want to make sure that you're in the right place. You know what I'm saying?
Bob Kevoian
Gotcha.
Tom Griswold
You know where. You know where A and B and C all go? Okay, we'll move on. We have time for one more letter with Ali Breen. Ali, what have you got?
Ali Breen
Dear Ally, my best female friend is dating one of my best male friends. I know he cheats on her, and she is pretty awesome. If I were dating her, I treat her so much better, but I can't be the one to tell her about it. Obviously, then they'd think I was doing it to have a chance. But regardless, I just think she deserves better. What would you do here?
Tom Griswold
We had had more or less the same story a couple weeks ago.
Ali Breen
Yeah. There's been. I think it's a theme that this kind of thing happens. Yeah. He can't be the one to tell. I mean, I. I don't think that that would help his situation with her.
Jess Hooker
If you ask the right questions to her without telling her, then maybe you can lead her on to make assumptions.
Bob Kevoian
Huh?
Ace Cosby
Making assumptions always the best thing to do in a relationship.
Jess Hooker
I'm just gonna ask you a few questions and you can answer, like, where was he last night? Or where was he last week? Did you guys go out? Oh, you didn't go out?
Jeff Oskay
Even if she breaks up with him, she doesn't want you, so she might as a rebound. No, no. If she's one of your best friends, don't mess it up. Just let them do their thing. She doesn't like you like that. I'm sorry, buddy. I got.
Ace Cosby
I'm kind of with Jeff on this. I think the coolest. The way to retract her is to back off or. I don't know.
Jeff Oskay
It happened naturally.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
It'll figure itself out.
Bob Kevoian
Let it be a secret for the rest of your life, I think.
Ali Breen
Let it fester inside you.
Tom Griswold
Then there's the threesome route.
Bob Kevoian
What? No.
Jess Hooker
Two guys and girls.
Ali Breen
There's always. Whenever they do break up, he can comfort her and give it a shot. He just can't be the one to cause the breakup, I would say.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Tom Griswold
I think I just thought of the solution to our first letter.
Ace Cosby
First letter?
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. The first letter was the one in which the guy kept saying to his girlfriend every time he'd See a woman. He'd go, oh, yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, hall pass.
Tom Griswold
She's super hot. I want a hall pass on her next. She should just say, when he says, yeah, I do her. She should say, I'll do her with you.
Ace Cosby
So the guy completes right there.
Tom Griswold
I mean, what do you.
Ace Cosby
What's the end game there?
Jeff Oskay
That's.
Tom Griswold
CFE's bluffing.
Ali Breen
Yeah, he'll double his.
Ace Cosby
My boyfriend said this girl was hot, so I said, hey, why don't you bang both of us? Now he does it all the time. I don't know what could have happened.
Tom Griswold
See, I'll see your 10 and raise you 20. I think it's gonna work. Thank you so much, Ali Breen.
Ali Breen
Thank you, guys.
Tom Griswold
We'll talk to you again soon. And where are you? In Florida. Did you say tonight or tomorrow? What is it?
Ali Breen
Tomorrow night? Claremont at the station. It's just outside of Orlando.
Tom Griswold
All right, very good, very good. Thanks very much.
Ali Breen
Thanks, guys.
Ace Cosby
Thanks, Ali.
Josh Arnold
See you.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, now, this whole Alley Breeing thing reminds me of that great. The Tommy Jonigan, when he did stand up is that he spilled wine on the carpet of the house and he goes, oh, well, let's. Let's burn the house down or something. Remember that?
Ace Cosby
Yeah. His sister got pregnant, and then somebody was like, are you gonna get married now? Yeah, yeah, yeah. This has gone from. This is bad. Let's make it worse.
Bob Kevoian
Right? Right.
Ace Cosby
I spilled wine on my carpet. I didn't burn the house down. I'm so glad he quit.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, not funny at all.
Tom Griswold
Let's see now. Hyundai. It's something special going on right now. It's the Hyundai Getaway sales event. Special pricing. They call it this because you get away with a deal. So. Right. It almost feels wrong. Hyundai right now, they've got a bunch of great deals. The most popular models would include, of course, SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe or the Santa Fe Hybrid. The Tucson. The Tucson Hybrid. Christy Lee, a big fan of the hybrid. She says she gets about 35 miles per gallon. There's the Elantra, which is at the head of the class when it comes to technology. Also while I'm at it, the all electric Ioniq 5 and the Ioniq 9. Get all the information@hyundai USA.com, see what's going on. A lot easier and a lot more fun to get your buns in the seats, see what they're like, touch the controls, drive one by going to your local Hyundai dealer and get away. Like I said, you get away with a deal. That almost feels wrong. It's so.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tom Griswold
It's the Hyundai getaway sales event. We're not going to get away. Oh, no, no, no. We've got more important things to get to in this world.
Josh Arnold
And.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that. Yeah. And that would include. We already got the banana car in. But we got a really interesting story about judging people just based on their name. Oh, yeah, guilty. Okay. I'm sorry. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Got a comment? To share? Text us at 888-262-8661. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jeff Oskay.
Jeff Oskay
Hi, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
He's over there at the news desk.
Jeff Oskay
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
There's. There's Jessica Holzman.
Jeff Oskay
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
There's Joshua Arnold.
Ace Cosby
Hi.
Bob Kevoian
There's Ace Cosby.
Ace Cosby
Howdy.
Bob Kevoian
How do you do? I'm Chick and hello, Tom.
Tom Griswold
Oh, we're using names here.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Some of us tend to hear a name and do a little bit of pre judging. Oh, we have a new story about that.
Jeff Oskay
A recent survey shows just how important first impressions are to Americans. According to Talker research poll of 2,000 US adults, one in five said they judge others on first names alone.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Jeff Oskay
Gen Z was the most likely generation to jump to conclusions when hearing someone's first name.
Bob Kevoian
Really?
Jeff Oskay
Karen is the clear front runner for the most judged first name, receiving slightly significant more mentions than any other name on the survey. Chad was a distant second, followed by Donald, John, and Damien.
Bob Kevoian
Damien from the Omen?
Ace Cosby
Yeah. The Omen did that name no favors.
Tom Griswold
And I don't. Do we know how the Karen thing started?
Bob Kevoian
I don't know. I've. Other than Goodfellows, I've never heard it. And Pop Cult. Pop. You know what I'm trying to say? Okay.
Tom Griswold
And I know that we did have the story that that name has fallen significant significantly in popularity.
Jeff Oskay
40% of respondents said they do not feel they embody the spirit of their first name.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, wow.
Ace Cosby
40%.
Jeff Oskay
20% said they wish they could change their first name.
Jess Hooker
You can.
Jeff Oskay
Oh, yeah. Exactly. When asked what they would choose instead, Jessica was the most popular alternative.
Jess Hooker
Really?
Jeff Oskay
Followed by Caroline, Lisa, Natalie, and Amira. A m I r a. Some respondents, though, opted for more unconventional
Bob Kevoian
names like Jug Queen.
Jeff Oskay
No. Quandale. Dingle.
Tom Griswold
Okay, that's not that.
Ace Cosby
What?
Bob Kevoian
Quandell Dingle.
Ace Cosby
This was one person.
Bob Kevoian
Wait a minute. Quandell Dingle made the story?
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Sir Cartier. Purple Shay. Vbeezy. Furnace.
Ace Cosby
Furnace.
Bob Kevoian
I'm Hot Baby, Call Me Furnace, Sapling,
Jeff Oskay
Cipher, Legacy, Indigo, and Kayla. K, H, A apostrophe.
Ace Cosby
Most of those names should end with now on stage three.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. Give it up for Kaylee.
Tom Griswold
And don't do that thing where you spell the name K, H, A apostrophe. Lea, that poor kid is going to spend their entire life. Yeah, yeah, that's. I don't know, maybe it's like a boy named sue in the famous song. Are you familiar with that song, Jessica?
Jess Hooker
I don't think so.
Tom Griswold
What's about this. This boy whose name sue. And he gets bullied his entire life, but that's what. That's what makes him the man that he becomes. So.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, he bullies others.
Ace Cosby
Johnny Cash, Really?
Bob Kevoian
It's a classic, life affirming tale of bullies.
Ace Cosby
Even at the end, though, he admits he still would. He would never do that to his own child. He does, because that's why when I have a son, I'm gonna name him Dave or anything but Sue.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Josh, did you ever consider changing your name?
Ace Cosby
No.
Tom Griswold
You've always liked it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Fine with it.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. I mean, I never. Is it. Did you ever consider changing your name, Jeff?
Jeff Oskay
Oh, I always wanted to, but I could never come up with a better, better one. I hate the name Jeff.
Bob Kevoian
What about Furnace? Furnace.
Jess Hooker
Oscar for an ace.
Bob Kevoian
I like that, huh? Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Furnace.
Bob Kevoian
He's hot.
Tom Griswold
His comedy is hot.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. And you can shorten it to Ace. Yeah, Furnace.
Ace Cosby
This furnace has no filter.
Bob Kevoian
Watch out.
Tom Griswold
So, I'm sorry. The most commonly disliked names were Chad,
Jeff Oskay
Karen, Donald, John and Damien.
Ace Cosby
I wonder what? Donald. I guess there's too much Donald Duck. Maybe Donald Trump.
Tom Griswold
Probably could be a political.
Ace Cosby
Oh, my gosh, yes. Political thing. Didn't consider that, of course.
Tom Griswold
Why Chad?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
What'd he do to anybody?
Ace Cosby
Chad was sort of the jokey, elitist,
Bob Kevoian
kind of a snobby.
Jeff Oskay
Yeah, he was the male Karen.
Ace Cosby
Right, right.
Bob Kevoian
All those 80s college movies. Yeah.
Ace Cosby
The antagonist and all those.
Bob Kevoian
Chad was the evil frat.
Jeff Oskay
And I've never in 53 years met a Damien.
Bob Kevoian
I haven't either.
Jess Hooker
I went to school with one.
Jeff Oskay
Well, really?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Jeff Oskay
Was he a devil?
Jess Hooker
He was fine. I think he smoked weed a lot.
Bob Kevoian
I'd have to think the devil would get.
Ace Cosby
Is there a name that you guys personally judge? Because some names are. It's easy to stereotype.
Bob Kevoian
What do you expect Tom to answer?
Ace Cosby
If I said my. If I said, oh, yeah, my Uncle Clem, wouldn't you immediately assume a rural. A rural. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Stupid hillbilly.
Ace Cosby
Which isn't necessarily fair.
Bob Kevoian
Of course not.
Tom Griswold
He might be a very bright guy that happens to be living on the country.
Jess Hooker
But you're judging the parents, right? Not the kid. Like, my friend was a teacher and she had a student. Her name was Shatheed and it was spelled.
Ace Cosby
That can't be right.
Tom Griswold
S H I then T H E E. Yes.
Jess Hooker
Like poop head.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Jess Hooker
Like, how do you do that to a kid?
Ace Cosby
I don't believe your friend.
Tom Griswold
You know and I do. I was checking out at a grocery store.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, sweet baby Jesus.
Tom Griswold
It was in the early days of cell phones, but it was pre camera. Really? And the woman had a.
Bob Kevoian
And you would have taken a picture of it, wouldn't you?
Tom Griswold
Oh, it was beautiful.
Ace Cosby
What?
Tom Griswold
The name essentially was Shi.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
T I n a T I first name. Yeah, that's. I mean, it's. It's one word. Maybe it's. Maybe it's shy Tina. But I'm just saying.
Bob Kevoian
I. Yeah, that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's a. There are a lot of options there, ma'.
Ace Cosby
Am, but Shafid.
Jess Hooker
And there's someone else that was named. It was spelled F E M A L E. Female. Yeah, but it was Famali.
Bob Kevoian
I've heard that. And I've heard that as like almost like an urban legend.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I think that one may be
Jess Hooker
because the birth certificate.
Ace Cosby
Okay. Formali. Has to be fake. I believe it.
Tom Griswold
And by the way, this is Chad and Jeremy. Oh, and yesterday's gone.
Bob Kevoian
Summer song.
Ace Cosby
No, they also do a summer song, don't they?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that was yesterday.
Bob Kevoian
And yesterday's gone.
Tom Griswold
Yesterday's gone. We're not gone. Well, we've gone briefly.
Bob Kevoian
We're gone.
Tom Griswold
These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Josh Arnold
Thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. The show is also out there for you on our YouTube channel. Watch and subscribe. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Episode Theme & Purpose:
This episode of The BOB & TOM Show is a classic slice of the long-running morning staple: quick-fire comedy, news oddities, sports talk, and playful banter. The cast dives into topics ranging from the annual Ventriloquist Convention, global sports stories, and weird animal news, to lifestyle oddities and new words. Without the regulars Christy Lee and Pat Godwin in studio, and with Jess Hooker under the weather, the “boys' club” energy is on full display, punctuated by humor both clever and crass, peppered with music, pop culture, and signature story tangents.
Note: The summary captures all major moments except for commercials and traditional intros/outros, remaining faithful to the show’s original tone, pacing, and banter.
