Working in the chemistry lab one day, sophomore year, nothing seemed amiss. But that night, an amazing transformation took place. And the next morning, young Debbie Yabo woke to find.
Jess Hooker
My God, I'm huge. I must dedicate these to fighting evil.
Chick McGee
Little did Debbie know that years before on the planet Lactoid, a planet whose gravity was causing it to sag dangerously toward the sun, her father, Major Yabo, and Mother Teton sent their infant daughter Areola, rocketing through the Milky Way to Earth, knowing one day she'd become Shirtless Girl, keeping the city of Metopolis safe.

Chick McGee
Shirtless Girl. Only on the BOB and Tom television. You that word, Old half naked lady fighting crime. Hello, friends. From the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, it's the Bob and Tom Show.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And of course, her sidekick Dick Grayson was out the other day, so she was shirtless and dickless.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Terrible.
Josh Arnold
That is terrible.
Chick McGee
He was on sick leave, right?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah, like every. Like everybody in this building.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, right.
Josh Arnold
Actually, you know what? I prefer my shirtless girls.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, well, don't go to Thailand.
Chick McGee
There's Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Chick McGee
Hello. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Chick McGee
There's Ace Cosby. Hello. I'm Chick. And hello, Tom. And you know what day it is? It's kind of an unofficial holiday at the Chick McGee compound. July 16, 1945, at 5, 29, 45. The sun rose twice that day, my friends.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, that's right.
Chick McGee
The first atomic bomb explosion. Oh, I don't know why. I'm just captivated by the minutiae of this thing.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This was the test, right?
Chick McGee
Yeah. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And. And in the movie, they truthfully point out that there was some speculation that it might ignite the atmosphere.
Ace Cosby
They.
Chick McGee
They were scared they were going to blow up the world. And they were scared that the chain reaction wouldn't stop. Is their big too big problem. And there was a guy on top of the tower in the steel shed. And there were thunderstorms rolling in. But they had a scientist up there with it all night, and he said, well, if this gets hit by lightning, I'm going to be vaporized.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Fortunately, skies cleared about 4am 403.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Wow.
Chick McGee
And the rest is history.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And speaking it will get to a little history. Coming up. A number of very interesting letters today. One of them Pointing out that yesterday's show was rather interesting in that we had to go deep into the bench. Ms. Hooker at the last minute had an issue and couldn't get in here. Christie's on vacation.
Chick McGee
Some sort of female problems.
Jess Hooker
But the nurse that I did see yesterday said, you know, I had to turn it off because I just heard them talk about their beards for long enough.
Chick McGee
We were talking about beers.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's because Oscar was supposed to trim his beard today.
Jess Hooker
Oh, he didn't?
Chick McGee
Well, he's supposed to trim it last night.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Last night.
Chick McGee
I mean, bring it in.
Josh Arnold
Actually, Jeff never said he was going to do it last night.
Chick McGee
Oh, really? I thought.
Josh Arnold
No, he did not. New razor was coming yesterday. Yeah. That did not mean he was going to trim it last night.
Chick McGee
Oh, my God. I'm alarmed, but yeah, I'm hearing the same things.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Thomas, I don't want to upset your nurse. I'll go on a little bit because I was talking to them. I think I forget if this was on or off the air, but he has the kind that you. It plugs in and you have to leave it in the wall.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
When you're using it, it's not. You don't charge it and then use it.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So I guess that gives it even more horsepower. Yeah, he. I don't know, more torque.
Jess Hooker
Battery operated. Word work for Jeffy's beard.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He's got a very thick beard.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But we're all looking forward to it. He has the. One of those mountain. One of those mountain man beards.
Jess Hooker
He does.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And so we'll see. But I thought it was.
Josh Arnold
The rest of us are sort of indifferent to whether or not he trims it. You're the one who's quite excited.
Chick McGee
You are quite excited.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think it's gonna be interesting.
Josh Arnold
He's done it before.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I know. I kind of forgotten what it looked like, though. He's had that gigantic bushy beard for a long time.
Chick McGee
I tell you, that picture he had of him when he was like in his 20s, 30s, I would have slept with him. He's a good looking guy. My God, he looked right. Walked right out of St. Elmo's fire, I'm telling you.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So you're suggesting that he grows that just to keep the women away?
Chick McGee
Possibly. Okay, yeah. Cuts down on. Yeah, yeah. Get these horse away from me.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you think. Ms. Hooker, I. I know you can't speak for all women.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Does your man have a beard?
Jess Hooker
He does, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Does he have like a big huge bushy beard like that?
Jess Hooker
No, he doesn't his beard is completely white actually. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you think most women like a majority of women don't. Wouldn't care for the gigantic huge I middle aged Santa Claus?
Jess Hooker
No, I think there's a lot of women that love the bushy beard.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But I mean like the huge beard.
Jess Hooker
The huge. Do you consider Jeffy's huge?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Yeah, I think there are a lot of women that like the huge beard.
Chick McGee
Absolutely.
Jess Hooker
My beard is seasonal. I like a big bushy beard in the winter.
Chick McGee
Yes, well, like Josh has said, you're a winter's beard.
Josh Arnold
Right, exactly right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Is it because isn't it like a little weird kissing a big bushy beard?
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
You know, I think the folks in this room and those listening and around the world want to know what's your deal? Why don't you like guys in beards? You've got a real block.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no, no, no.
Jess Hooker
I do know women that don't like to kiss a beard.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Jess Hooker
Yes, they're.
Josh Arnold
But Tom has an obsession here.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Yes. No, it's not. It's okay. I just like to get to the point.
Josh Arnold
I'm going on the side of it's not okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no arguing.
Chick McGee
I'm a little pissed off about it as a matter of fact. Let's.
Ace Cosby
That.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Coming up, we have some interesting questions from. From listeners and I'm trying to dig around and I've got another really. This is. I'll get right to this one. This is from Pamela.
Chick McGee
Pamela.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
She says no last name. Please. I will say this Pamela would appear to be is of Italian heritage.
Chick McGee
He can't help it.
Josh Arnold
If you ever don't want your last name said on the air, just don't say anything now.
Chick McGee
Just roll the dice. It's better to not mention.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
All I'm going to say is she's of it heritage, but her name does sound like a Mexican dish.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. But you could go from there.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Chick McGee
Good lord.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's. Isn't it weird though?
Chick McGee
Is it queso? That's a good.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, no, it's not queso. It sounds more like a Mexican appetizer enchilada. No, it's not. Pamela enchilada. Pamela said I heard you guys talking about driving a stick shift van. It made me think of something you can settle between me and my husband. I have a shirt that says yes, I can drive a stick. Now, Ms. Hooker, you can drive a stick, right?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. And we got some percentage about a lot of people can't drive a stick shift. And in the last couple years We've had a number of stories where would be carjackers try to carjack some really cool car. Whatever. It's a Porsche, whatever. And they get in it and it's a stick, and they can't steal it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So that's. If you're gonna do that for a living, please learn how to drive a stick. In any event, she goes, I have a shirt that says, yes, I can drive a stick. My husband says, every man sees a sexual invitation in that. What do you think? Yes or no? Your ruling will be law.
Josh Arnold
You know what's funny is in that case, I would not have seen a sexual.
Chick McGee
I. I can understand it, though.
Josh Arnold
I can, too.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
But if I just looked at it. Oh, that's cool. She can drive a steak, right?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. I would think she was a car gal. That was all. Yeah, but.
Josh Arnold
But we, of all people who look for the double entendre.
Jess Hooker
But if your wife wore that, would you assume, like, that meant you would just think the worst of men based on anything your wife wears?
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I think.
Chick McGee
I would think Lebanese at some point.
Josh Arnold
Oh, Tom, what about you? Would you read that shirt and think sex?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, wow.
Chick McGee
What?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You real.
Chick McGee
You're.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's on. It's.
Bob Kevoian
We.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
As you know, as you know, this Pamela, whose name sounds like a Mexican appetizer, but she's of Italian heritage, I'm sure is super hot. And if she's wearing a tight T shirt, maybe slightly moist from a light rain in the afternoon, nipples protruding.
Chick McGee
You've got a lot going on over there, Tom.
Jess Hooker
The backstory he builds.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And she shaved off her mustache. Once again, she's of Italian heritage. I think it's provocative.
Josh Arnold
Go ahead. Yeah, yeah. No, it could be, but I just didn't see it. It's weird that I wouldn't.
Chick McGee
Yeah, right.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It probably depends what she looks like. I mean, if she's, like, looking like, you know, like a. Like a diesel biker. You know what I'm saying?
Ace Cosby
Sure.
Chick McGee
I know that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You know, she's two.
Chick McGee
They're the worst.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
245. Three.
Chick McGee
I'm thinking. Okay, wait a minute.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
She's talking about driving heavy equipment.
Josh Arnold
One of those fire plug, isn't she?
Chick McGee
One of those weird mullet haircuts they have sometimes. You know that 240.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, three. There is a cartoon with this that I think is great.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's. I. I hadn't seen this till just now. It shows a witch's broom and a witch's hat.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And it says, yes, I can Drive a stick.
Josh Arnold
Oh, is that the shirt itself?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I.
Bob Kevoian
That.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That must be the shirt itself. Now, that throws a whole different meaning.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Now.
Josh Arnold
Now sex is, like, way at the bottom of my assumption.
Jess Hooker
I'm with you.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. That's just a fun Halloween shirt.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, so in that case, Pamela, It's. It's not. It's not sexual.
Chick McGee
Is her last name Onion straws? Okay.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I really don't want to give any more hints. Although you can buy a very nice version of this stuff. Microwavable. Ready in 90 seconds. Frozen, of course.
Chick McGee
Ravioli.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Pamela, we're getting closer. Okay, Pamela, I think we're gonna go with no. It's. It's not provocative. Saying, yes, I can drive a stick on your T shirt. Since you've got the witch's broom.
Jess Hooker
Right?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The witch's hat.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
If you didn't. If you just had a big block letters, Yes, I can drive a stick. I'm saying this is dtf.
Josh Arnold
Whoa. Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Chick McGee
He's so excited. He's learned dtf.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, yeah. That's probably the only one I know. Really?
Josh Arnold
I do think it's sexy when women can drive a stick.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Do women think it's sexy when guys can.
Jess Hooker
No.
Josh Arnold
Well, I take it back.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think it'd be a smart move to require all cars to be stick shifts.
Josh Arnold
Oh, really?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because it would eliminate about 50% of the people on the road, which we need to do. If you've ever been anywhere. That would include yesterday. God, I wanted to kill a guy. You know, it was with the same standard thing. You're at a left. Left turn light, and the lights. About 10 seconds light. The arrow finally goes green. No one's moving.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Then it goes yellow. Then it goes red, and the guy in front goes, oh, they did a
Chick McGee
study on that one time with. How. How quickly is it Physics. How. How is it possible. The quickest time you could get off as soon as. If everybody moved at once. And it's.
Jess Hooker
I try to be ready, but I always think I'm slow.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Even when I'm paying attention.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They say when. When we don't get to drive our own cars anymore, that thing will go green and all the cars will get through.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Simultaneous.
Josh Arnold
There'll be no traffic issues.
Chick McGee
Oh, people are. The people are weak.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But the larger point I would make would be if you're driving a stick, you can't be using your cell phone most of the time.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. You got to pay attention.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You got it. Yeah. It really requires you to be a little more focused and be a better driver, I think. Now, I don't know if it'd be interesting to find out if there are fewer accidents with people driving sticks, although a lot of stick shifts tend to be really nice cars. The aforementioned Porsche, et cetera, et cetera. So maybe those people are driving a little quicker because it's so much fun. We'll see. We'll find out what's going on there. Now. Coming up, we have a number of very fine letters and you can reach us, Bob and Tom and tom dot com. We'd love to hear from you. What's on your mind? What's happening? We have some cool stuff coming up in the news in the spot. No, the sporting scene is being dominated by soccer.
Chick McGee
World Cup Final coming up Sunday, Argentina and Spain. Argentinians. Argentinians will not. And Messi. Messi will not die, man. England up one, nothing. 15 minutes left to play.
Josh Arnold
No way.
Chick McGee
And Messi comes back with two amazing assists and a header. And another goal.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Crosses that ball right in front. And a header.
Chick McGee
Two to one. And Argentina moves on. And I was cheering my boys from England. I was wild.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, right. Why not?
Ace Cosby
All right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And now, coming up today, now, Ms. Hooker, you missed this, but yesterday we found out about a guy that runs a restaurant. I know you're a former restaurant worker. This guy runs a restaurant in which one can arrive with a python and exchange it for a pizza. He also serves a python on pizza and he does all kinds of really cool things. He's got a store now, get this. Converse All Stars, made of snakeskin. Yeah. Oh, they're so cool. His name is Dusty Crumb at Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and Python. We're going to talk to Dusty today. I'm so excited. Plus, in the studio, comedian Lucas Waterfield will be joining us. So a bunch of cool stuff on the way. Right now, it's money time. Talk to you a little bit about cash. How would you like to grab some cash out of thin air? Kind of what I'm talking about is taking advantage of the fact that housing, well, house prices have gone way up. So if you own your own house and you've owned it for a while, it's probably worth a lot more than you paid for it. You don't have to sell it to take advantage of that. So the question is, should I call American Financing to refinance and pay off these credit card debts or maybe build a new kitchen? Well, why not give it a shot? Because American Financing specializes in refinancing, among other things. Right now the average client at American Financing is saving about 800 bucks a month on their monthly payment. How do they do it? Well, you take advantage of the fact that your house is worth a lot more than it used to be. So you refinance it and voila, you've got some cash. Also, they've got a thing going on right now. I was looking at it yesterday. You may be able to even avoid two mortgage payments. Give yourself a little bit of a break and grab some of that cash. So see what's possible. There are no upfront fees at American Financing. No pressure. They have salary based consultants that can help you out in about 10 minutes. They can walk you through this and they've got a great website that will walk you through it right now if you want. Once again, it's American Financing and they're@american financing.net do me a favor and make it american financing.net Bob and Tom. So they know that you heard about them from us. You can also call them 866-88926 11. Again, no pressure. If you own your house, it's certainly worth a look. See, in just a few minutes you can find out if you could cash in and get some money to do whatever you want to do with it. Once Again, it's American financing.net nmls182334 nmlsconsumeraccess.org Average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.

Jess Hooker
He has a beard.
Chick McGee
Yes. A filthy dirty beard. Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This person is really paying attention. This is E R I N. That's a lady Aaron, Right?
Jess Hooker
Correct.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Not like double a errand R, double a guy.
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
Which is catching on.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. Dear fellas, yesterday's show was once in a lifetime. Christie was gone, Hooker was out. You guys haven't had to go to the third string since someone sat in for dick hits water.
Chick McGee
Is that right?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And I remember that now.
Chick McGee
I don't.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, there was a special edition. I think it was. I forget. Well, I just remember someone. I remember the line sitting in for dick hits water or sitting. That's obscure.
Jess Hooker
That is. But I kind of remember that too.
Josh Arnold
I know I called in for him once.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, that could be it.
Chick McGee
All right.
Ace Cosby
That.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Maybe that's the one. But thank you very much Aaron in beautiful Idaho. We certainly appreciate it. And by the way, a special hello to my friends crossing the Mackinac Bridge joining of the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. Did you see any of those photographs yesterday?
Chick McGee
I did not.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The smoke from Canada.
Jess Hooker
Oh yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I mean it looked like.
Chick McGee
I know air quality is at an all time low.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It looked like they were crossing the Golden Gate in a fog. Really serious business.
Josh Arnold
Well, they have fires going on.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Real serious stuff. Now I will that maple.
Chick McGee
You know what that maple burning?
Josh Arnold
No, no.
Chick McGee
It's like it's our main export agent. Orange maple starts burning now.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What do you got over there?
Chick McGee
Dear Bob and town show. Congratulations to a 21 year old fisherman. Joshua and Jeff Oskay. Pay attention. His name's Ethan Bear. He caught a fish of a lifetime. He's from North Dakota fishing with two buddies. On July 10th he hooked a 27 inch golden walleye.
Josh Arnold
Oh really?
Chick McGee
A remarkably rare color variation believed to be caused by a genetic pigment mutation.
Josh Arnold
While I've never. I've obviously never seen one.
Chick McGee
Look at that thing.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It looks like The. The what? Three quarters of the body from.
Josh Arnold
That's a beautiful massive walleye.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's. It's as tall as that kid and
Chick McGee
it says 27 inch. But that thing looks longer in the picture.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, he's sitting. Sorry. It's. Yeah, but it go. It's as long as. From his genitals to his head.
Chick McGee
Bear said the fish produced a strange golden flash as it neared the surface and he wondered what the heck was going on. The entire boat froze. They realized what he had hooked. Even better. After getting a few incredible photos, they cut the fish up and had a big fry on short.
Josh Arnold
No, they.
Chick McGee
They released the fish healthy and plans to have a replica made.
Josh Arnold
Oh, good. Yeah, I love that they can do that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's just beautiful. Just gorgeous.
Chick McGee
What would the old timers say about going out fishing? You just throw them right back, you know. You know, you're not going to keep a fish like that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Did you ever use a stringer?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah, we had to use stringers before.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, I always like those.
Chick McGee
That's where you shove it into their mouth.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no, no.
Chick McGee
There's a.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
There's like a nail sort of thing that goes in their mouth. But the beauty of it is then if you're going to.
Chick McGee
Don't call me Gill.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
If you're going to eat them, then you could hold them up on the string and you have to use the phrase mess o fish. Which for me, I know that sounds very folksy.
Chick McGee
That is too folksy for you. Meso fish.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I got thinking about something and we
Josh Arnold
had a bunch of fish on a stringer one time and they left them in the water and then when we went back for them, nothing but heads. The turtles had gotten to the. We were like, oh, this is such a bummer on so many. In so many ways.
Chick McGee
This is a true lesson.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And I don't know why that reminds me of this. I don't have the story yet, but they just discovered a new monkey.
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh. Really?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, I think it's got like gold lip. Something weird about the lips or something. Okay, Yeah, I could be wrong about the gold, but. Yes, they've discovered a new monkey. I believe in the Republic of a. Congo.
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh. You don't mess with the Congo.
Chick McGee
Congo monkeys.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Stay away.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, well, I mean, you've still got. Let's see, who's left. Peter Torque. No, only Dave.
Josh Arnold
Only Dolan's right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Mickey Dolan. But there's a new monkey. We'll find out about that coming up. All right, now we have an Interesting letter here from Randall. He writes, I know it's taboo to say, sorry to bother you at work, but half of you aren't at work lately, so I guess it is.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Let's see.
Chick McGee
We're doing the best we can.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Son went to a Catholic grade school. They had to wear a uniform and they had their choice of wearing the uniforms, pants or the uniform shorts. That makes sense, right? Makes sense. His friends were all wearing shorts. He was set on wearing shorts too, but he forgot what shorts were called. And he told his mom he didn't want to wear his long sleeve shorts anymore. That's nice. I'm a big fan of school uniforms, by the way.
Josh Arnold
Easy.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, well. You don't like them?
Jess Hooker
No, he's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, well, you know, my youngest still has to wear a uniform.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It really, I mean, it just cuts down on a lot of.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Bullying, etc. Etc.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. Oh, did you think I was going to go the other way with that? Oh, I just, I just, I would like to see it go all the way through high school. Just makes. Make things a lot easier, don't you think?
Chick McGee
Could you wait? No. You, you had a suit and tie in school?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, we had to work. Well, not a suit. We had to wear a coat and tie.
Chick McGee
Coat and tie.
Josh Arnold
Did everybody wear the same coat?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay. It wasn't a crest or.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no crest.
Josh Arnold
Oh, gotcha. Gotcha.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But I, for all practical purposes, had one tie hanging in my locker all year.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And. But the thing was you had to have a real tie.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because the first day, every new kid, someone would walk up, hey, is that tie fake? Boom. And pull it off. And if it was, you were marked for life. Boys are so much fun.
Josh Arnold
They're.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're so nice. I was thinking about something the other day. You know, I, I don't want to go through the whole story again, but you may recall that I was stuck at an airport for. From 11 to 7, 36 hours is what I heard. Well, it took 36 hours to get home.
Chick McGee
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The first day we waited for the plane, the plane was there, but they kept saying it was going to go and it didn't. And we were sitting in this essentially a trailer with no windows in the Bahamas, boiling people go, oh, you got to stay an extra day in the Bahamas. That must have been great. No, it wasn't. But I have a thing. I don't drink anything before I get on airplanes.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because I don't want to have to get up and pee.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So I was thinking about this. So I didn't drink anything. No water, no soft drinks. I didn't have anything. Once I got to the airport. No fluids of any kind.
Chick McGee
Oh, good.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Then when you. But then finally got back to the hotel after a taxi ride, a boat trip, and another taxi ride, you ever have your pee look like mustard? The same with. The same. With the same viscosity.
Jess Hooker
Oh, no.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm not sure what that means, but
Josh Arnold
that might be some slight.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Slight dehydration there.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But I wasn't really conscious of it. And they did have water there, but I'm not going to drink water because then I'll get. Guys, I hate having to get up and pee on an airplane. Am I the only one?
Josh Arnold
It's never comfortable, but I'll do it.
Chick McGee
I don't have any choice. I have to.
Josh Arnold
And a lot of times I just want to stretch my legs anyway, so
Chick McGee
I go a lot.
Josh Arnold
Any excuse to stand for 10 seconds.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And am I the only one that assumes as soon as I get into the bathroom on an airplane it's going to drop 10,000ft?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
No, I never worry about it.
Jess Hooker
I do.
Josh Arnold
Maybe I should.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I've only had to sit down and do that once on an airplane.
Josh Arnold
You did, though.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I was. And I was terrified.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I thought, oh, my God, how embarrassing would it be?
Chick McGee
It's a wonder you could make the transaction.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, no, it's a wonder I didn't make it in the aisle. As you know, sometimes. Sometimes when duty calls, you don't really have a choice. Okay, Josh, this one. This letter may require a little bit of thinking.
Josh Arnold
Oh. And that's the amount of thinking I'm good at.
Chick McGee
Just a little.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This guy. This is Jordan. He goes, I set a goal to read 100 books this year. I'm well on my way.
Josh Arnold
Oh, good for you.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That is amazing. That's great. Especially if you've noticed lately there was a really interesting article about the number of people who still read books.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Is plummeting, apparently.
Josh Arnold
It's Tom, me, and this guy.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. He goes. A few books on my to read list were added after hearing you guys mention them on the show Into Thin Air, which is a great book about climbing Mount Everest, right?
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Just a terrific read.
Josh Arnold
And you'll read that one in a day. You won't want to stop.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, I've read it twice. It's so good. Where the Crawdads Sing.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's. I loved that book. And that's especially for popular lit. That's a really good book.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And then I. I feel like Oprah here for a second because she has her book club. He's asking what books we would recommend to add to his list.
Josh Arnold
Oh, geez, there's a lot of.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'll tell you what. The, my, the book I've read twice in the last year is John Green's book. It's got an odd title, the Anthropocene Revisited.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's kind of a bio. It's really cool. It's a non fiction, really good.
Chick McGee
Sounds a bit snooty to me.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, not at all. He's a real. It's really down to earth. It's terrific. Did you ever read that book on writing by.
Chick McGee
Oh, I. I did actually. Stephen King.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
By Stephen King, Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Where it's not a autobiography, but it kind of is.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Where he writes about. And it's great. It doesn't matter if you like. And it's not. Not a horror thing. It's a. It's a non fiction.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This thing with John Green's the same. I'd recommend that. How about this one chick? I think you read it. Dropped Names by Frank Langella.
Chick McGee
Yep. I love that book. Oh, I listened to it.
Ace Cosby
It.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, Frank Langella, he's the guy that was great stories. What in the 70s for playing Dracula. Terrific actor. The opening chapter of that book is one of the coolest. I, I don't want to. There's an unbelievable story.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He's like 20 years old and something happens to him that is just absolutely staggering. Funny and amazing right off the bat. Josh, any come to mind if you had to recommend.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I just throw out some authors. Anything by Dennis Lehane, Tim o'. Brien. I mean I could go.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Tim o', Brien, he wrote the. Was going after Catchado.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Did you guys read Griffin Dunn's?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, that was good.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I loved that.
Chick McGee
I read that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. And yeah, another good one is Michael McDonald's book.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I want to read that.
Chick McGee
Yeah, that's really good.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And then Donald Fagan has a book called Eminent Hipsters. Donald Fagan from Steely Dan. The first half of that book is great. Then it turns awful. You can tell he's bored, but the first half is great.
Chick McGee
Dick Cavett has. I. I found it on ibooks. It's called Brief Encounters and it, it's just little bunch of essays. It's really. There you really.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
There's our, there's our book review section.
Chick McGee
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Something new from the Bob and Tom Show. Your book review. And good, good luck with all that.
Chick McGee
And here's something for Tom. Dear Bob and Tom Show. I saw this at the Model A national meet up at French Lick, Indiana, the West Baden Resort. This is a Model A, and on the front of it, as you'll see, Tom, it says DeLand, Florida, Athens of Florida. I don't know what that means. I never heard that that slogan. Had you?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No. There's a really good college there.
Chick McGee
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Stetson.
Chick McGee
Oh, the Hatters.
Ace Cosby
Sure.
Josh Arnold
But it's a cool car, huh?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, the car is amazing.
Josh Arnold
Looks like it's out of sinners.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. And it's beautiful. Well, thank you very much. Deland, Florida, of course. I used to work on the air there. I don't know if you knew that, Ms. Hooker.
Chick McGee
That's an odd name, though, Deland. I wonder why they came up with that, that name.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, it's actually very simple. It's quite close to D.C.
Tom Griswold
i didn't
Josh Arnold
know that was a hearty Han.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I didn't know he had him here.
Chick McGee
Right. That was amazing.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Did you see the story a couple weeks ago about the. The. The lady that got eaten by an alligator that was right near the land?
Jess Hooker
Oh, no.
Chick McGee
Oh. Because they had a hot, hot day hiking and they saw a little pond, so they just got into the pond and thought they'd cool themselves off in Florida.
Jess Hooker
That's what the woman said.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Her friends must have.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
I'm just gonna jump into the pond. Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, we. We do have alligators in the news today, interestingly enough.
Jess Hooker
Oh, we do? Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We have a lost alligator that has been found in a place one typically does not find alligators right now. Special hello to our friends at Hyundai. Chick McGee
Hey, welcome back to the Baba Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Chick McGee
There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Chick McGee
There's Ace Cosby. I'm Chick mcgee. Tom has chosen this time to feverishly search his area for getting a straw. Yeah, he's found a straw.
Josh Arnold
You gotta ship that drink.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I gotta cut. Hang on a second.
Josh Arnold
I gotta cut. What do you cut too long? Oh, okay.
Jess Hooker
We all do that. We can't.
Chick McGee
I watch your straw. I cut my straw.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I haven't. But it, I, I should try it.
Chick McGee
I am, I am down. I will admit this easily, that I am alarmed at how much I'm becoming like Tom. Care for it? But there's nothing I can do about
Tommy (Tom) Papa
it, ladies and gentlemen.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I see.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Bendable.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, I like the elbow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm a big fan.
Josh Arnold
Now, you don't want to accidentally cut that in, do you?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no, no. Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
I'm surprised you don't get all insist on all straws with elbows with the bendable straws and then cut that part off when you get them. That's why. That's what I'm surprised you don't do.
Ace Cosby
Well.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But then the part I cut off, I used to snort heroin.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I see.
Chick McGee
That's where you go, huh? White Palace. Dear Bob and Tom show, the Albino Stallion. This is from Ed in Wilmore, Kentucky. I wore a full beard for years, streaked with Salt and pepper. One day, I decided to shave it. I found three chicken feathers within the beard. Not quite sure how they got there, but my best guess. I love an actual, real feather pillow.
Josh Arnold
That's got to be.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah. I must have been somehow intimate with said feather pillow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, that happens.
Chick McGee
You guys. You guys rock. Incidentally, I think Chick McGee and I are twin sons from different mothers. I hope you got a different mother, dude. It's amazing how much he and I are alike. I'm sorry about that, Ed. But keep. Keep on, keeping on there, brother.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We're talking beards? Because Mr. Oscar has a very huge, bushy, thick beard.
Chick McGee
And from what Tom and I can understand, he promised to shave last night and did not come through.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Apparently, he's. Apparently he's waiting for. He ordered a new. What did he call it? What's the name of that thing?
Josh Arnold
He got a wall. Yeah. Wahl. Which is good. I get the Wahl. Peanut.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What does that mean?
Josh Arnold
It's a make and model.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, I see. The peanut.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's an odd name for a shaver.
Jess Hooker
It's just little.
Ace Cosby
It's.
Josh Arnold
It's kind of shaped like a peanut. Ergonomic reasons.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Makes sense. So we'll see what he looks like. He has not shaved yet. I just saw him in the hallway.
Jess Hooker
Did you guys talk about urinals yesterday?
Josh Arnold
Probably.
Jess Hooker
Aiming at the drain reduces splashback. A hot tip from AJ what does? What reduces aiming at the drain?
Josh Arnold
Oh, aiming at the drain.
Chick McGee
No, no, no.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You aim at the side. You aim at the side of the urinal.
Josh Arnold
But I do agree with AJ when you do hit the drain dead on, you get what? Much less splashback? Typically, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But if you miss, even by a little bit, you're getting it right back at you. Well, don't you notice in the summer. Because you wear shorts all the time. Yeah, I don't care. I prefer not wearing shorts.
Chick McGee
See, that's my big problem with flip flops. Men don't. If you're going to a public restroom, don't wear flip flops. That drives me crazy. I see that going in.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Don't you feel the blowback when you urinate on your shorts on your legs?
Josh Arnold
Depends on if I have to use one of the shorter urinals. Yes. It's like, well, I guess I'm washing my hands and my shins, which is infuriating. But I don't know about this chick. There's a joke in an episode of Friends, all right. Where Rachel has taught Ross's son some pranks and one of the pranks is putting a loom Saran Wrap over the toilet.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Josh Arnold
You pee on it, the pee gets everywhere.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Josh Arnold
And he complains to Rachel about this, and then she goes, well, it's not that big of a deal. And he goes, I was wearing shoes, or I was barefoot at the time. And then she goes, oh, I'm so sorry. I think being barefoot and peeing all over your feet is way better than if you're wearing shoes and accidentally getting pee all over your feet. Because you can just wash your feet. Whereas shoes are harder. It's harder to deal with the p.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What is the movie?
Chick McGee
So your solution would be not to wear shoes?
Josh Arnold
If I'm getting pee on me, I just want it on my bare feet.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So if you're at the airport.
Josh Arnold
Plus, it's hotter.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You've already taken your shoes off once. So after you go through security, just carry them with you, because I got to take a leak. Can you hold my socks?
Chick McGee
So there should be a sock and shoe station. You go into a men's room.
Josh Arnold
That's right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
All right, I. I figured. Was the movie called Wolf? I think it was Jack Nicholson, maybe Mike Nichols. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
James Spader.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you remember this? This isn't really spoiling. Remember, there's a scene in that movie he.
Chick McGee
Marxist territory. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And it gets all. It gets. He's all over the shoes.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The urine.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I remember when I saw that.
Chick McGee
No. He turns and pees on the guys.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Chick McGee
Right on. It's not Splashback from the urinal. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
When I saw that movie, the lady behind me, like, I'll never forget this. It was the highlight of the movie for me. She goes, and they're suede. That guy totally remember that. Don't go peeing on my.
Chick McGee
Yeah, they'd.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Brown suede shoes. Not a fan.
Chick McGee
Suede shoes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Suede anything.
Chick McGee
No kidding.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Although I did. I recently bought a pair.
Chick McGee
I want to die in suede. I want to be bathed in suede.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I recently bought, under protest, a pair of suede loafers. I hate loafers. I hate suede.
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh.
Jess Hooker
Oh, like boat shoes?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, they're just kind of like loafers.
Chick McGee
Do I have to tell you.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
I have to tell you what my dad told me. It's no way to live, boy. Okay, get out of there.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They look nice with. Apparently those linen pants that I. Yeah,
Jess Hooker
I'm seeing the outfit now that you say it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jess Hooker
But it looks really nice, and linen's
Tommy (Tom) Papa
great for 10 minutes.
Chick McGee
You look Like, I bet you're down there in that. The sunny climbs. You look like Edward, all Edward James almost from the Miami Vice walking around with your linen and your suede shoes. No socks.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I, I, I, I wear the, I got some of those socks you were telling me about.
Chick McGee
What socks were I was I telling you about?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The ones that don't.
Chick McGee
Oh, the no shows. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Like see that? They kind of barely are there.
Chick McGee
Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So we'll see how they do.
Josh Arnold
How are you feeling about them so far?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They feel kind of airy down there.
Josh Arnold
It was about a three or four day adjustment for me when I went to those and now I won't go back.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, okay. Well, it's good to know. Now coming up, comedian Lucas Waterfield will be joining us and we're going to talk with Dusty Crumb.
Chick McGee
Let me tell you something. As unaware as Tom is of most things, nothing makes you feel better than telling him about something like no show socks and thinking. He's thinking, you're amazing for knowing about this unbelievable invention because he has no idea. I walked around.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're brand new. This is the first time I've ever worn them.
Jess Hooker
Oh, that feels so good.
Chick McGee
Oh yeah.
Josh Arnold
New socks are fun.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
See, you didn't wash them though. Did you put them right on your feet. That's what I do.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no, I washed.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
New socks are one of those is like the only clothing I don't wash before I wear for the first time.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah. You know my dream, I go to stores and buy new shirts and put them on in the car. You know, that's how I operate.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, you got to help me here. I was trying to remember who this was.
Chick McGee
I'm to help.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It was either, I don't know if it was a major league baseball guy or an NBA guy or an NFL guy, but there was somebody, you were telling me about this that doesn't travel with a, a bag.
Chick McGee
He doesn't take anything with him anywhere on the road because he hates the feeling of forgetting something in a hotel.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So he just goes and buys new
Chick McGee
stuff, all the new stuff at like an affordable store. He was, I think I want to say Ty Detmer. I'm not sure if that's right. He was a quarterback at byu, I think, I'm not sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I was talking to some friends of mine that are actually serious people, unlike, say, and through a series of circumstances. They were talking about they were going on a business trip and for a bunch of reasons, they suddenly they had to get on a plane with nothing yeah. No. No hand luggage. No anything to get in the plane and fly. And they said it was just liberating.
Ace Cosby
It is.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's amazing because these guys travel all the time and they've always got, you know, they're schlepping or whatever, a briefcase. Everyone's taking all carry on now anyway, and. But it was just so funny to see these two guys kind of. Oh, God, it was so liberating.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I've only been able to do that once. Yeah, yeah.
Jess Hooker
I did it one time, too, but it was just on a road gig with us, and I was like, no, I know. I'm passing them all. I'm going to buy a new outfit. I'm not. Everything I bought, I bought new everything.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
One of you know this. I know a guy that cannot pass an outlet mall. His name is Chick Magee.
Jess Hooker
I was going to say.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And what are you talking about?
Jess Hooker
He's in the room.
Chick McGee
That's exactly right. He's got outlet mall detection. Now, get a load of this. Gardner Minshew, actually, rookie year with the Jaguars, he famously arrived at a Houston road game bringing only the outfit he was wearing. He carried that tradition to the rest of his in the NFL. He doesn't take. He doesn't take clothes with him on the road. And you love.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And I love Gardner Minshew.
Chick McGee
And Tim Wilson would take a T shirt and his guitar case. Yeah, that was it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, Tim Wilson did many a show wearing my clothes.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, no, I'm serious.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He'd stay over at my house and go, tim, that's the same shirt you've had on for three days. Take this one.
Chick McGee
Tom, let me tell you something about these perfumey deodorants we have to wear. Oh, yeah. Okay, good.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And he was not a big deodorant guy, which actually is in the news today.
Jess Hooker
It is.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's one of those new Internet crazes not wearing deodorant.
Jess Hooker
Hmm.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, thanks.
Chick McGee
Really?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Thanks, Internet. We'll find out what that's about. And we're gonna find out about having a pizza with python meat on it and more when we return to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're at the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Ace Cosby
Hello.
Chick McGee
There's Josh Arnold. Hi, there's. Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick McGee. Hello, Tom. I'm supposed to remind you about the heat.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So I'm walking the dogs.
Chick McGee
Sweltering in the usa. Yeah, it's hot.
Jess Hooker
It's summer. It's July. It's supposed to be hot.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We're going to be okay.
Jess Hooker
Everybody calm down.
Chick McGee
It's so hot.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So, I mean, I walk my dogs, I take them out a lot. I like to walk with them and I typically walk through a pretty quiet neighborhood. But there's one street I have to cross.
Tom Griswold
It's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's a two way but it's kind of busy.
Lucas Waterfield
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So I'm crossing the street and there's not, it's not a four way stop. It's. So the people are, they're coming by, they can come by fairly quickly. And I've got my two dogs with me and it's, you know, whatever, 11:30 or something in the morning and this lady slams on her brakes, opens up her window. I've already crossed the street. I'm about to head down the dead end and opens our window. Get those dogs off the pavement. Well, ma', am, if the dogs didn't want to be in the pavement, the grass is right there.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, the dogs will let you know.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, they know they're okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, it's not. Fry an egg in the pavement. Oh, but I was really surpr.
Josh Arnold
Surprised. Why would.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Mind your own business. The dogs are fine.
Chick McGee
Did you at any point use the word bitty while you were talking with us?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I was just so stunned. What is wrong with you? I mean, it's one thing if someone leaves a dog in their car, right? I'm sure there are circumstances where certain dogs paws are a problem, but the dogs are on the grass 99% of the time.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, no, they were fine.
Jess Hooker
There's a certain type of woman who thinks that she knows what animals need more than the animals know what they need.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Jess Hooker
Like that's a whole group of ladies.
Josh Arnold
Yes. Anyway, animals know more. Yeah, that's. That would I, I. Did you say anything?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, I just like I'm thinking, Jesus.
Jess Hooker
Mind you kept walking.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And I'm sure there are places where it's bad for the dogs. And I've. And I've been places where I've seen in, in Colorado in the summer, in the winter, rather, you'll see dogs with booties on it depends on the dog and everything.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, of course.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But the dogs, the grass is right there.
Josh Arnold
They're gonna let you know by stepping into the grass.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, they'll walk over to the grass and. Yeah, yeah. They're not idiots. Well, wait a minute.
Chick McGee
Well, I got one.
Tom Griswold
Wait a minute.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think about. One of my dogs is an idiot. He thinks he's Eeyore. Well, that was a 30 yard walk. I need a nap.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, let's sit down. Now, are we moving on to the sports page or did you have another letter you want.
Chick McGee
I can't find another letter, so I guess that means sports time.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I got a quick one.
Chick McGee
Okay, go ahead.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This is kind of a profound one.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, a lot of the things we talk about here are frivolous.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're kind of light.
Chick McGee
We deal in frivolous. Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah. But every once in a while we will get into the realm of which one might call philosophy, deeper thinking. I can't think of the last profound thing that was ever said on this show, but I'm sure there have been some. This comes to us from. We'll just call him bb. This is a male, okay? A male bb he goes. I saw a picket sign that read, what do we want? Time travel. Oh, when do we want it? That's irrelevant. I'll repeat that for you.
Chick McGee
There you go.
Josh Arnold
No, you don't have to. Yeah, no, we got it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What do we want? Time travel. When do we want it? That's irrelevant. All right, that's a thinker right there. I was hoping more of a chuckler, but it's a thinker. All right, give that some thought. Now we have a Chick Magee over there at the sports desk and it's a special sports desk, ladies and gentlemen.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Oh, it's. Yes. Brought to you by NHTSA.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's right, NHTSA.
Chick McGee
Slow down. Defending champion Argentina rallied to beat England 21 and reach the World cup final yesterday, trailing one nothing into the last five minutes of regulation time. Enzo Fernandez and substitute Latoro Martine scored for Argentina, aided the assists for Messi. You have to see them to believe them. He's a left footed. He's left handed, left footed. And he kicked an assist with his right foot and it on a dime. I don't know how they do this, but here's what it sounded like. The Argentina announcer. And it starts off with a miss. So here, here we. Go. Those bens.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, my God.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my God.
Chick McGee
Messi. There it is.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They have a question.
Jess Hooker
They sound like they're in pain.
Chick McGee
And what's this guy's name? Andrus Galaraga.
Lucas Waterfield
What is it?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you remember we were reading that book about. Remember the the writer for MASH that becomes a. He becomes a announcer.
Chick McGee
Ken Levine.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. And he was talking about. He. This is the story is. Ken is a. He was a really great comedy writer.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And he decided he loved baseball. He. And he. The book is about. I think it's. What is the book? It's got a great title.
Chick McGee
Oh my. There it goes. It's out of here. Wait a minute. Or something like that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
In any event, he talks about how when you become a baseball announcer, you want to develop your home run call.
Jess Hooker
Gotcha.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You want to have one that's just yours?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Signature.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. In the world of soccer, every one of these I've heard is essentially the same. It's a long extended.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Goes on forever. I mean, I'm sure in the world of soccer there are probably world class famous announcers. I don't know who they are, but Andre Cantor, the theme seems to be the extended.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Either saying the word goal.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Is the word goal the same in Spanish as it is in English?
Chick McGee
I don't know. I don't speak a foreign tongue.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
El goal maybe.
Jess Hooker
I don't think so.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
In French, anyone?
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
So coming up on Sunday, we've got Spain and Argentina, 3:00 Eastern Time from beautiful New Jersey at MetLife.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Chick McGee
Of course, FIFA's not going to let him say MetLife. It's the new Jersey stadium.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think a friend of mine went to the game in Atlanta a week ago and I think maybe you mentioned this, all the seats where the Mercedes logos are. Yeah, they taped them over.
Chick McGee
They took black, black electrical tape and covered the.
Jess Hooker
I don't think it was electrical.
Chick McGee
I'm pretty sure he.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, he said his seat was kind of. Was it kind of crappy?
Chick McGee
And you know what?
Ace Cosby
We.
Chick McGee
I don't know if we have the. That picture from yesterday. Earling Holland, the striking Viking of Norway. He was getting off his plane with his treasures.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This is great.
Chick McGee
Purchased in the United States. No, he had a raccoon.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Have you seen the guy?
Chick McGee
He had a taxidermied raccoon under his arm with a. Drinking a bottle of booze. It was gorgeous.
Jess Hooker
That's hilarious.
Chick McGee
Well, evidently he bought it at a place called Wild Bill's Western Store in Dallas, Texas. The raccoon was holding an empty bottle of Greenalls Wild Berry Gin. The raccoon currently sold out at Wild Bill's website.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, you can see why they'd sell
Chick McGee
out 750 bucks a copy for that. He also.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Who wouldn't Want one?
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
Holland wasn't done. He also purchased two taxidermied squirrels. One wearing a sheriff hat.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's nice.
Chick McGee
And other downing a Budweiser. 450 apiece.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Have you seen this guy? He's super handsome.
Jess Hooker
I actually just watched the bag that he is carrying is roughly $75,000, maybe a hundred thousand dollars. And he has, I don't know, 20 or 30 different versions of this bag.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Wow.
Chick McGee
What?
Jess Hooker
You know, I'm not joking.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What's so special about it?
Jess Hooker
It's the brand.
Chick McGee
You guys know me in that.
Jess Hooker
It might be a Prada, I don't know. And then he has. How many Thousands up to $75,000 is some of these bags. It's. It's crazy.
Ace Cosby
Wow.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, he. This, this says he racked up a ten thousand dollar tab at that store.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
Now Wild Bill's Western store.
Jess Hooker
Spit in the ocean for that guy in Dallas.
Chick McGee
Yeah. They closed the store and let everybody. All they taught him. They taught him the Norwegian team, the line dance and they had a great time.
Josh Arnold
Cool.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, that's cool. Would that be hard to get through customs?
Chick McGee
I think you would have to explain probably.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm sure that dead raccoon carrying a whiskey bottle.
Chick McGee
Probably.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Is that on the Texas flag?
Chick McGee
It should be, yeah. Let's see. Wnba, last night, Golden State, Minnesota and Chicago all win. In that Golden State game, they beat Indiana 8875. And Caitlin Clark had an incident with a couple of the referees. That's becoming. Becoming a thing. We'll keep an eye on that for you. An Australian city gathered more than. Hang on a second. Stupid world record. An Australian city gathered more than 600 musicians to play trombones together to break the Guinness World record.
Josh Arnold
Oh yeah.
Chick McGee
The city of Ipswich, Queensland hosted the attempt to break the record for the largest trombone ensemble as part of the Spark Ipswich Arts Festival. The trombone has performed 76 trombones.
Josh Arnold
Oh, all right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now I think about this for a second. 600 trombone players. That's serious.
Jess Hooker
It's a lot.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's a lot of them. I wonder how if they were any good.
Chick McGee
I would say. I would say that's too many.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's a tough instrument to play. We got a little picture of it.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I played it for two years.
Jess Hooker
You did?
Josh Arnold
I liked it. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because you got to know where that position is.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
There are no frets like on a guitar. You gotta. You gotta know where to hold your arm. It's tough. So congratulations, huh? I don't know. Does it say that they played a Song. Okay. That was the only one. Okay.
Chick McGee
That's what all it says in the story. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. All right. I. Because there are some pretty young guys. Hope they were able to do it. I heard the organizers didn't really care if you were any good. They just let it slide if you couldn't really play. Well, naturally. Coming up, we have. We're going to talk with Dusty Crumb. We found out about this guy yesterday. He runs a store, what was it called? Everglade City or something in Everglades City.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And it's. The store is Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and pythons. They do have a python pizza and you can bring in a python and they'll trade you a pizza for a python. And they've got a cool store where you can get. Among other things, I was quite impressed with the licensed Converse All Star made of snakeskin shoes.
Chick McGee
And they have, hey dudes, made of snakeskin.
Jess Hooker
Really?
Chick McGee
Yeah. The slip.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I could see you with snakeskin.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah, I would, I would sport snakeskin.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, that, that, yeah.
Josh Arnold
These are cool.
Jess Hooker
I love a good Converse. I'd take a pair.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, that would work for you. I think it'd be very nice. Anyways, we're going to talk with Mr. Crumb. I'm excited about that. Also today, comedian Lucas Waterfill, Willie G. Should be here shortly. He's got a special gig with Mr. Oscar this weekend. I'll tell you about that coming up. Right now we have an interesting story coming up about weight loss in the news. And speaking of weight loss, Brickhouse Nutrition has a team of physicians. They've gotten together working on something. And this is not one of those injectables. Jess Hooker
Hello.
Chick McGee
There's Josh Arnold. Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Chick McGee
There's Ace Cosby. Hi, I'm Chick. And hello, Tom.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hello, Chick McGee. Coming up, we've got a very exciting guest. Dusty Crumb from Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and Pythons where you can actually get python pizza. He's got a cool store down there in the Everglades.
Jess Hooker
So if you take your snake in there, he'll chop it up and put it on a pizza.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, he's already got. They've already got pythons to cook.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So what do they do with the ones you train?
Chick McGee
They take it all money off your pizza, don't they? Yeah, we can ask him, I guess.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it sounded like an even trade, but then they probably use those for later pizzas.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Josh Arnold
And goods.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, they've got a snake everything. Belt buckles, boots, shoes. I love all of it, including the Converse All Stars, made of snakeskin. Very cool.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I know. We last left you. We were at the. At the NHTSA sports desk with Chick Magee. Are we still there?
Chick McGee
Well, kind of the sports desk, because I came across this this morning. I wanted to share it. When I was a kid, I wanted this toy. It was called Super Toe. And Alex Karras, former Detroit lion and former member of the Monday Night Football team on abc, he was the spokesperson. Okay. He certainly was acting.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He gets punched. He doesn't. He punched the horse in the face.
Chick McGee
And Blazing Saddle Mongo, Life of Regret or something.
Josh Arnold
Only Pawn and Game of Life.
Chick McGee
That's exactly right. Yeah, that's that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And you did a nice job.
Jess Hooker
Delivery.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Bring that.
Chick McGee
That's exactly how we said it, but it was called Super Toe and it was a plastic guy you hit on the Head with your. With your hand. And it would kick a football through a plastic goalpost.
Josh Arnold
Cool.
Chick McGee
And I wanted to show it to you guys. And there he is. We need the audio on this too, so.
Lucas Waterfield
Oh, hi, super jock.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Here, watch this. Super toe.
Josh Arnold
Still the only field go kicker I ever liked.
Chick McGee
Watch this.
Ace Cosby
Boom.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He did it again. Okay, the kick is from the 50. Ah, let the old pro try.
Chick McGee
This is dad kicking it
Lucas Waterfield
on the head.
Josh Arnold
Super toe scores again.
Lucas Waterfield
Super toe comes with everything you see here.
Josh Arnold
Super toe. Another fun filled super jock action game from Shopper. Hey, hey.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That is really kind of cool.
Josh Arnold
And it would tell you how many yards you took it from.
Chick McGee
Right. And then of course, you could make fun of your parents, which was exciting. Yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Of course, now it's been replaced by video games. We had photo electric football.
Chick McGee
Yes. That was kind of.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That was cool.
Chick McGee
The longer I think about that. A little lame. A little.
Josh Arnold
Had to have been lame.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Little real photo electric football. You'd have these sheets and you, you could pick a play.
Chick McGee
You had like seven defenses and.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And you, you'd put it on this electricity bed of light bulbs, kind of.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And then the offense, whoever was playing offensive, put theirs on there.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And you know, so then the. With the light on them, you could see through and you could see if you got tackled or not.
Jess Hooker
Okay. So light, Right. Meets Battleship a little bit.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But I mean, it's a strategy game. It was fun.
Jess Hooker
That is fun.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, of course, you can get a game that looks like the actual players are in the room with you.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's a little more sophisticated.
Chick McGee
Yeah. You can't tell an NFL game on fox from the video game being played. It looks exactly chicken.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I get into a huge argument a few years ago.
Chick McGee
No.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
When a certain play happened in the NFL and the announcer said, that guy obviously plays video games because he did a video game move.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Where he deliberately didn't cross. He waited to score a touchdown. I forget the circumstance again. But the guy goes, yeah, that's what you do. That guy learned that by playing video games.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So.
Chick McGee
And now virtual reality. A big deal. So they let him practice in virtual reality.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Has that completed our sports broadcast?
Chick McGee
No. One more. I will get out of your way.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no, no. I just want to make sure. I didn't want to get a dinosaur
Chick McGee
loving boy from Illinois. That sounds like a Jim Croce song.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
He was a dinosaur loving boy from Illinois.
Josh Arnold
Silverstein right there.
Chick McGee
Rapid Roy, that stock car boy. He's become the world's youngest person to curate A museum. Guinness World Records report Anderson Taylor, just nine years and 340 days old when he opened Cambridge Natural History Museum. Anderson is its sole owner and curator.
Ace Cosby
Wow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This wasn't even 10 years old yet.
Chick McGee
When asked about why people should visit his museum, the now 11 year old said there's a lot of interactive stuff and people usually get a souvenir to take home with with him.
Jess Hooker
Okay, that's nice.
Chick McGee
There you go.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now yesterday. Oh, there he is, a good looking kid. Looks like fun. Oh, look at those skulls behind him.
Jess Hooker
Oh yeah, that's sweet.
Josh Arnold
I like any entrepreneurial kid.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I like the hat. I hope he never gives up that hat.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He's got kind of a Indiana Jones look. Yeah, looks nice.
Jess Hooker
I wonder what, I wonder what you need to be a museum, right?
Josh Arnold
To be actual actually a museum because
Jess Hooker
there's this thing on the Internet right now about you only need a hundred books in your house to register as a library or something crazy like that. Maybe a thousand books.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Maybe you get a tax write off.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, something like that. And so people are counting their books and seeing what they can do to be considered a library.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The way things are going in the world of reading, that's not going to be too many people. Were you here when we found out how much the guy somebody paid for the Gus the skeleton of one of the most complete T Rex skeletons? What? It was $50 million.
Jess Hooker
Oh my gosh.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
And it was only 56% complete.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. It wasn't all of it, right?
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So it. Does it set a record Here, I got it. I got it right here. It was, I don't know why they nicknamed him Gus but 50.1 million to a mystery bidder over the weekend. T Rex fossil, that's they, they say it's 61% of the, the bones are there.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It has 183 fossil bone components but it'd be cool if this kid got Gus for a couple weeks.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Still say they don't know for sure how the bones go back together. They just guess. Best guess.
Jess Hooker
Well I think it's a good guess what they're doing.
Josh Arnold
I don't think it's much guessing at all.
Chick McGee
Give you the study though. The Tyrannosaurus rex front arms or someone else another.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You have to wonder.
Chick McGee
They're so obvious it makes my head hurt.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're not saying who it is. You have to wonder where it's going to be, right?
Jess Hooker
Oh, we don't know.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're not.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It would be appropriate. I Would think for someone to donate it to a museum.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Rather than have it on the Lido deck of Bezos's yacht.
Jess Hooker
I don't know. That'd be cool too. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Share it with no one. Yeah, that'd be real nice.
Ace Cosby
And that.
Josh Arnold
That Lido deck could use some. If you haven't been on yet, it needs a. Wow. Yeah. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Did you go down there? Because I. I couldn't believe. Believe it was a cash bar.
Josh Arnold
I was shocked.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What a prick.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You don't get enough of my money yet.
Chick McGee
And Boss gags on the lido. That's a lot of money.
Josh Arnold
I. I told Bezos it was a little on the nose to have him performing Lido the whole time.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I wonder if Boss has ever been hired to do that. Because you.
Ace Cosby
You.
Chick McGee
I'm hoping he would.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Say almost every band is available for private gigs.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
If you. You want to pay them a lot of money. Yeah, but they do it all the time. If we ever talk to Boz again, I'll. I'll ask him. I remain a huge fan.
Chick McGee
Let me leave the room.
Lucas Waterfield
No.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We have Ms. Hooker back in the. Back in the fold today. Christy Lee is on vacation. Just hooker sitting in this week. She had a little issue yesterday.
Chick McGee
Yes. Christie's having her feet shaved and I think our elbows refreshed is what I heard.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yes, yes.
Chick McGee
Now, some sort of spa.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You were in the middle of the process of having some tattoos removed.
Jess Hooker
I am. And they're exposed today. And I just. I'm so conscious about it. Like, it's.
Chick McGee
They are.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, they're right here. This part.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, yeah, your lower part of your arm. What was that?
Jess Hooker
What was it? This is the blessed Mother right here. And that's a parachute. That's a lobster. And this is a cover up, actually.
Chick McGee
So.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, a lobster.
Jess Hooker
A lobster, yeah.
Ace Cosby
Wow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I've had the crabs.
Josh Arnold
As in you are my lobster.
Jess Hooker
Yes. Oh, yeah, It's a. It's a friend's reference. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, I never watched that show. What does that mean?
Jess Hooker
Lobsters mate for life. And when you say you're my lobster, that's your person forever.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
And it wasn't for anybody. Yeah, with the claws. They just stuck the claws.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And again, if you say you've got the crabs,
Ace Cosby
I don't.
Jess Hooker
What. What's the other. Like, what's the. What's the medical term for crabs?
Josh Arnold
Body lice or scabies? I don't think crabs are the same,
Tommy (Tom) Papa
but I think there's a difference. Yeah, there is between head lice. And body lice.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I know that several of my kids, when they went to camp.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And played baseball and shared a helmet and all that head lice is everywhere. Willie had to shave his head one summer.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We'll ask him about it when he gets here.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He got the.
Chick McGee
He might have heard that and is not coming in now.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, no, he's talking.
Jess Hooker
No, he'll tell you.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. So what do you got over there?
Jess Hooker
In the world of news, the bison that attacked a grandfather at Yellowstone national park will not be euthanized. I didn't know this.
Josh Arnold
Oh, good.
Jess Hooker
Even up for debate.
Josh Arnold
I know. Why would it be?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Park officials told TMZ that no management action will be taken against the wild animal.
Josh Arnold
And there should. It shouldn't be.
Jess Hooker
No, no. Absolutely not.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
His bison being a bison.
Chick McGee
All the other bisons are having a big party with him. You're not going to the joint. All right.
Josh Arnold
You broke your cherry.
Chick McGee
That's right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That. That video.
Chick McGee
I'm gonna flip the next guy I see into this county.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That video was on the national news two nights in a row.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because we should point out that the bison is not going to be killed. And the guy that. If you haven't seen it, this guy gets flipped. His arms are spread out. It's so funny.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Full circle in the air.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But he's okay. He. I think he broke his femur in four places.
Josh Arnold
Where would this be on the news two nights in a row?
Bob Kevoian
It was.
Josh Arnold
I know, but why?
Jess Hooker
I think it's to warn people. They don't listen. They don't. They don't read the signs and they. And they get too close.
Josh Arnold
I don't feel like these people were too close at all.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, they were.
Lucas Waterfield
Interview.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They were interviewing. I think it was the photographer, and he said, I don't think the guy was too close.
Jess Hooker
Well, yeah, we saw the video, and Josh made a good point that it looks like the car that goes by kind of irritates it looks like it sort of revs.
Josh Arnold
It gets. Gets the bison all worked up.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And then the car leaves. And now that guy's just standing there.
Chick McGee
How's it going? And the bison thinks that the guy made the noise, Right?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And they were.
Chick McGee
That bison. Don't know.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They weren't, like, in the middle of nowhere. They were in a campground around.
Jess Hooker
Yes. So, yeah, there were other people around.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Flips the guy eight feet in the air. But it's a tremendous video. We actually have. We have posted our commentary about the video.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And it's it's, it's quite exciting because the guy just happens to be filming them. And he gets the beginning, the middle and the end.
Josh Arnold
Yes, he gets the whole thing.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And, and this guy's with his grandson. He's an older guy, real long beard, and he's wearing kind of old timey suspenders.
Chick McGee
Old timey suspenders.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Wouldn't you agree, though?
Josh Arnold
The grandson. Yeah, the grandson had to have been terrified.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And they, the thing starts coming at them and I've. I've read that they can run 35 miles an hour.
Chick McGee
Seems too fast.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, and. But they're. Then they kind of run into this sort of little wooded area and then you see the guy come out, then go back in. It really is, you know, you're kind of singing by little yakety sacks. But I mean, like I said before, if, if you were trying to film this for a movie, you couldn't get a better angle.
Jess Hooker
Great shot.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
With a stuntman. You'd have to do it 25 times.
Chick McGee
They've. They've taken his logo. They're like. Memes are rampant, obviously. And they, they put it on a, A Jordan high top. If you can think in your mind. The Air Jordan logo. Yeah, it's kind of spread out, so they replaced the air.
Josh Arnold
Weird. How do these things capture the, I don't know, imaginations of the country? I. Yeah, I look at that video. I'm like that. That is mildly amusing at best.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, I look at it over and over again every time.
Josh Arnold
But I'm like that with all these things that get popular. I don't. None of it's that interesting.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I find it hilarious. Sorry, maybe it's just.
Josh Arnold
No, it isn't just you. What I'm saying is I'm way in the minority. I don't know what chip I'm missing in my brain.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What's coming up in the news over there?
Jess Hooker
We have Ozempic in the news, still a racy license plate. And a new bill passed.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. This is going to be really controversial. Yes, A new bill in the United States. In the House, not the Senate. But I mean, it's really controversial topic. Although it's not necessarily political. No, I don't think this falls on left or right or Democrat. Republican.
Josh Arnold
No, it kind of falls on lifestyle.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I think so.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, it's so. But we'll talk about it. And it's. I don't know. I don't even know where to come down on it myself now. We'll look forward to that. Also. We're going to talk with Dusty Crumb, the proprietor of a place that serves python on your pizza in the Everglades. And they've got a bunch of cool stuff at their store, Dusty, including the aforementioned snakeskin sneakers.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And they're Converse All Stars. They're very cool looking, but they're snakeskin. Also, comedian Lucas Waterfield will be joining us. I hope you can hang out with us. We're going to remain in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Bob Kevoian
This is the Bob and Tom Show. Reach us toll free at 1-888-bobtom1 or@bob&tom.com this is the Bob and Tom show
Chick McGee
and we're live on Match Day as Doug reaches for a buffalo wing. He's got it. Oh, and he's gone for a can of Pepsi, too. What a finish. There's no doubt about it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It just tastes better. Match Days deserve Pepsi. Details on the way.
Chick McGee
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom show. In the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, Jess Hooker at the news desk. Hello, there's Josh Arnold.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hi.
Chick McGee
There's Ace Cosby.
Bob Kevoian
Howdy.
Chick McGee
I'm Chick McGee. Doing the best I can. I can't even say McGee now for some reason. Hello, Tom. How are you?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hello, Chick McGee.
Ace Cosby
Yes, sir.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
A quick update. We had the story about the
Tom Griswold
dude
Tommy (Tom) Papa
in the suspenders, the grandpa that got heaved in the air by the bison.
Josh Arnold
Thank goodness he's okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, his name is Carl McDaniel and he was interviewed by CNN and he says he, he broke his femur in four places near his hip and several, some suffered some bruises. But he, he's up and walking apparently. And his quote is it was not as catastrophic as it could have been.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. No, man.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Apparently when he landed the bison then walked over and was right on top of him or something, so.
Jess Hooker
Oh, we don't see that part of the video.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Pretty rough. So.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
On a lighter note, yesterday was National Hot Dog Day, so.
Josh Arnold
Well, that guy did look pretty light. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think again, we have on our social media a nice clip. We have that clip with our commentary so you can see how we feel about it.
Josh Arnold
Was it sort of a reaction video?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
One of those.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, on a, on a say, on the same note, rather, do they make bison hot dogs?
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh, I've never seen them. Have you?
Jess Hooker
Just hold on. I feel like they do.
Josh Arnold
Nice.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I've had a bison burger and they are really good.
Jess Hooker
I had one Saturday. It was so good. So good.
Josh Arnold
And their flavor, that's A flavorful meat.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And to be clear, what. When we grew up, what they called a buffalo.
Jess Hooker
That's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's actually a bison, Right?
Jess Hooker
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Buffalo sauce. What comes from a buffalo?
Chick McGee
What the hell's a buffalo then?
Josh Arnold
I think the buffalo were gone by
Tommy (Tom) Papa
the time the buffalo had their light. They have, like, the huge stretched out horn.
Josh Arnold
Any buffalo anymore?
Jess Hooker
They have wings.
Chick McGee
I thought. I thought Ted Turner brought back the. Or they. He brought back the bison, right?
Josh Arnold
No, he just colorized them.
Ace Cosby
Oh.
Josh Arnold
All bison were in black and white.
Chick McGee
Montana, Ted. So.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's right. Coming up, Dusty Crumb will be our guest from. From Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and Pythons in the Everglades.
Josh Arnold
I hope it's not a stage name.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Josh Arnold
But even if it is, it's cool. He doesn't spell it like our Crumb. He spells it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
When you were a kid, did they have a TV show that had Jungle Larry on it or one of those guys?
Chick McGee
Jungle Larry?
Ace Cosby
No.
Jess Hooker
Who was it? The guy that came on and wore the hat and did.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I'm thinking of the guy that came on Letterman. Who was that?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, you know what I'm talking about.
Chick McGee
Yes. Jim.
Jess Hooker
Jack.
Chick McGee
Oh, Jack from the Columbia Zoo.
Jess Hooker
Thank you.
Chick McGee
Sure.
Jess Hooker
That's who. I think.
Chick McGee
No, but my cartoon host was Flippo the Clown.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Did he have the animal guy? Come on.
Chick McGee
No, he would just host the cartoon. Yeah, we had a clown. He's a legend.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We had Jungle Larry.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He had the safari. Safari hat, you know, with like, the real zebra.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Headband.
Chick McGee
The real zebra headband.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm sure in those days they weren't quite as sensitive about stuff like that. They would have. He'd have monkeys and stuff. And like I said, there's a new monkey. I've got to do more research on this.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They've discovered a new species of monkey.
Jess Hooker
Oh. Oh.
Chick McGee
You know that I'm kind of irritated now because I grew up in central Ohio with like 20 miles from Columbus, Ohio, and Jack Hannah from the Columbus Zoo went everywhere and was on TV shows. But maybe I was just too early for him and he wasn't on TV yet.
Josh Arnold
Or he never. Did he never go to your school?
Chick McGee
No, he never showed up any. But I.
Jess Hooker
You guys are like the same age. Age.
Chick McGee
Oh, that might be it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no.
Josh Arnold
Hannah's got 30 years on you.
Jess Hooker
No way.
Chick McGee
No way.
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
I'm pretty.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That actually brings us to a news story.
Chick McGee
I'm looking up Jack Hannah's age. He's 79. Okay. He's a little older than I am.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
About A guy that is kind of like Jungle Larry. This guy, he's one of these guys that takes animals around, shows them to kids, et cetera, et cetera. You may recall the story, the guy, his alligator.
Jess Hooker
I'm looking.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
His alligator crawled out of a cooler a month or so ago. Remember this?
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And they. The. So there was a loose alligator in the state of Indiana. Typically.
Jess Hooker
Don't see those there.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You don't see those there.
Jess Hooker
I'm looking.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Can you imagine if you were skiing in a water. Skiing your water skiing in an inland lake and you go by an alligator.
Josh Arnold
When did this start?
Jess Hooker
An alligator that was on the loose in Indiana for an entire month has been found. The 20 year old alligator is that old for alligators.
Chick McGee
I don't know what the life expectancy is.
Josh Arnold
Teenager, Teenager. I'll look it up.
Jess Hooker
Okay. The 20 year old gator named Irwin escaped from a cooler on June 5 while his owner, Mark Coalhorst was unloading his van into Cobb county after putting a wildlife show on.
Chick McGee
Josh is correct. Alligators typically live to 50 years old in the wild.
Ace Cosby
Wild.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
So there you go.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And in the world of evolution, they've. They're like the last of the dinosaurs. Yeah. I mean they're.
Jess Hooker
Are they hard?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're primitive.
Jess Hooker
The touch.
Chick McGee
Oh, they're hard. Yeah, they're hard.
Josh Arnold
They. They're not like this, right? A solid surface, but like a tire.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Have you touched an alligator?
Josh Arnold
I have, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
A couple weeks ago I touched stingray. Stingrays and they. It's like touching rubber.
Jess Hooker
I don't like it.
Ace Cosby
It.
Josh Arnold
I like those. I like those.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, I pretended I wasn't terrified.
Chick McGee
Stingrays are. Yeah, they got it in for us, man.
Jess Hooker
Remember?
Chick McGee
They got, they got.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
When you're, when you're walking around the stingrays, you have to shuffle. You don't want to step on them. They make that real clear. So shuffle.
Jess Hooker
Oh, you were in the wild?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Oh, we're talking about at the zoo
Tommy (Tom) Papa
when I was in the Bahamas.
Chick McGee
You were in the water with a stingray?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, a bunch of them.
Chick McGee
Are you kidding me?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And snapping turtles and dolphins.
Jess Hooker
You weren't scared?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I just said I was terrified.
Jess Hooker
Oh, sorry.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I was trying to be.
Tom Griswold
Trying to be.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I was trying to be cool, you know. One of my daughters doesn't she, she's brave and thought it was great. I was terrified.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I always loved how self obsessed am I when I hear this story. I'm going, my workload's got a double. If anything happens down there, I can't understand.
Josh Arnold
At. At some point I want to dive with great whites. Like get in the cage and dryfus it.
Jess Hooker
Have you watched the video where the great white gets in the cage?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I'm not too worried about it.
Jess Hooker
I don't know, man.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Did you by chance watch the news last night?
Josh Arnold
I didn't.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're tracking a great white. They've got. What do you call it? Transponders? What? Whatever. The gizmos.
Chick McGee
No, it's an apple tag.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. Essentially it is.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And they've got a great white. I think they spotted it off South Carolina maybe. And it's on its way, they think, up to sort of Nantucket.
Josh Arnold
I saw something over the weekend.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They're tracking it.
Josh Arnold
It's the largest one that they have ever tagged. Is that the one?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Could be.
Josh Arnold
Because that one recently pinged, you know,
Tommy (Tom) Papa
and they showed him these guys and it's kind of semi lashed to the side of a boat.
Josh Arnold
Exactly.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This guy's leaning over, touching it.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Chick McGee
We went to Fort Myers one year with the show and did like a week and in. In Florida and I was scuba diving at the time and I went down like 80ft onto a. A wreck of a ship and there were barracuda and just swimming around. It was terrifying.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I look back on it and I go, there's no way I do that.
Josh Arnold
I was scared of the barracuda I saw while snorkeling.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Because it was gigantic. Huge.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And as soon as you see when you go barracuda
Chick McGee
camera, they just look like they're waiting for you to do something.
Josh Arnold
They do. Yes.
Chick McGee
Go ahead, make a move.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I don't get some credit for that. Incredible. It was great of that terrific riff. Isn't that one of the best riffs out there?
Josh Arnold
I think so.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, that's just awesome. Who is that Barracuda heart? That's.
Chick McGee
That was whose boyfriend at the time. Like Roger Fossa for something. Weren't they all.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I don't know.
Chick McGee
They make rumors look like a bunch of.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I. I don't. I hope they're having fun. Whatever they are.
Chick McGee
A lot of fighting.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I hope they're very happy. Happy. Great singer, great guitar player. There you go. This is it.
Chick McGee
Or this might be Nancy. I don't know. I don't know who's. Isn't there a Fisher? Roger Fisher?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I don't know who's playing this.
Chick McGee
I think it's me. Yeah, it's me. That's what it is.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's the ticket.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Me.
Chick McGee
Jealous.
Josh Arnold
I wrote this for my Girlfriend, Morgan Fairchild.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You get it now? Okay, now, I was just handed an importance. Let's just end the. We're sort of semi. Half. Right. The Atlantic Ocean's largest tag. Great white, the largest tagged in history, according to this news account, resurfaced off the coast of North Carolina near the Outer Banks.
Josh Arnold
That's the story I saw.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. 14ft long. The large shark has been named contender. That's weak. Heading toward Cape Cod and the eastern coast of Canada. So.
Jess Hooker
Oh, not abnormal. Like, is that not something they do or.
Josh Arnold
It's exciting that they. They pinged it and they can learn more about.
Jess Hooker
Okay, gotcha.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This is. The visit comes at a time when great white sharks start migrating north to warmer waters for a larger food supply.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This is where they go to Amity island and start eating the tourists.
Josh Arnold
Right, right, right.
Chick McGee
You can't close the beach. Money that'll cost our community.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What a great movie.
Josh Arnold
They're looking for Kittener Boys.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, Roger Fisher, original lead guitarist.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, he played that lick.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Josh Arnold
I didn't want to know that. I always assumed it was abroad.
Chick McGee
I think it was Nancy's boyfriend, though. I don't know.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, Nancy's also a fine guitar player.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, coming up, we're gonna have a couple cool things, including a chat with Dusty Crumb. Speaking of animals, Dreamboat Annie, he's a. A guy that serves python on pizza. It's a place you can take a python and trade it for a pizza.
Josh Arnold
I think the python is the crust that goes around.
Chick McGee
That would be amazing.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I can't believe you said that.
Chick McGee
Can you eat python skin?
Josh Arnold
Oh, it's like chicken skin, baby.
Chick McGee
Is that right?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Are you serious?
Josh Arnold
No, I have no.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. I would assume it's cut up like pepperoni.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I like that.
Josh Arnold
Then you're gonna get backbone and stuff. Oh, I think they're chunks.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, for sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. But it's not. If it's not like a snake around the rim, right?
Josh Arnold
No. Well, we'll talk to Dusty about it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Maybe he's done that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
All right. And if I'm not mistaken, the. The. What do they call it? The Great Python Hunt is happening as we speak. I think it is in the Everglades this week. Okay, so that's heroes, right?
Jess Hooker
All.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. I. You. You swear you're gonna do it?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, at some point. I really do want to do it.
Chick McGee
I find this interesting because I've said I want to go with Josh to do this, but he's forgotten that I. Or there's no way I'M going to do it. Which is true. He's just skipped right over to Josh. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I say next year, all right, we can make this happen. Well, remember this time of year we'll be broadcasting.
Jess Hooker
I'll put it on the calendar.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because you do it at night, right?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So you could come on the air with us.
Chick McGee
That's when the python are sleeping.
Josh Arnold
Oscar said he would do it too. Noah, our cameraman, doesn't know he's going to do it.
Chick McGee
Good luck, Noah.
Ace Cosby
Wow.
Josh Arnold
What if he's the one that gets gatored?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, because he's, he's holding the camera, not looking around.
Chick McGee
Right, right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And all of a sudden you, hey, fellas, why are you running that way all of a sudden?
Josh Arnold
You know what I'm more the most worried about, oddly? Mosquitoes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Just how bitten up we're going to get big.
Chick McGee
The mosquitoes.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Write them and rope them.
Josh Arnold
But I'm probably afraid of the wrong thing.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think the mosquitoes wouldn't get near me.
Josh Arnold
No.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because I'd have crapped my pants and they, all of the flies would come over. The mosquitoes don't want any part of it. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

Chick McGee
Welcome Back to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. It's the Bob and Tom Show. That's Jess Hooker at the news desk. Hello, there's Joshua Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hello.
Chick McGee
I don't want to be the one to tell you, but Josh is irritated with all of you and these love of memes and the fellow being flipped into the air by the bison.
Josh Arnold
Oh, not irritated. I just wish I.
Chick McGee
It certainly is out of control, I will give you that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I mean, if I wanted a good laugh, I'd go watch it right now.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Lucas Waterfield
I'm glad.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I find it hilarious.
Josh Arnold
I wish I had that.
Chick McGee
See, now I'm, I, I'm not laughing at that. I'm going, oh my gosh.
Josh Arnold
I know. I didn't think it was all that funny.
Chick McGee
You see this poor old man get flipped in the air and you're laughing.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
To me I would have laughed way harder if it was some 24 year old trying to get a selfie with the bison and he got his just desserts.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think, I guess the reason it's the outfit. The guy's Got that. Those old timey suspenders. And he's got this huge beard. He looks like he walked out of him.
Josh Arnold
You know, he looks like a great. And I don't mean age. I mean an awesome grandpa.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I don't know. I. I'm sorry. I find that hilarious. He's gonna be okay. He broke his femur, but that's Ace Cosby.
Josh Arnold
I'm with you, Josh.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You know how to make empathy.
Chick McGee
All right, there's something wrong with you. You're dead inside. Okay, possibly.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Our commentary about the event is posted. And you're right, though, because there are people whose last move in this earth has been taking a selfie. Yeah, I mean, that. That is, in fact, a real thing.
Chick McGee
Well, they get up on top of those radio towers and take pictures of themselves, like, fall off, like, 1500ft in the air.
Jess Hooker
Isn't that a website? Last photo.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, someone. I think you guys mentioned that before. I won't. Look at us.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Good Lord.
Chick McGee
I butt pucker.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We were doing Today in History Yesterday. And if I'm not mistaken, it was the birthday of Rembrandt.
Chick McGee
Yeah, and his last name's Ron, wasn't it?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
His last. His full name is like, Rembrandt Van Ring or something.
Chick McGee
Yeah, Rembrandt's first name.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, I didn't either. So he's kind of like Elvis or Cher.
Jess Hooker
I didn't know that.
Ace Cosby
Or.
Chick McGee
Or Chick, but okay, fine.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
When I was reading it, it said that he did something like 70 self portraits or 80 self portraits.
Josh Arnold
Get over yourself.
Chick McGee
Egomania.
Jess Hooker
Too many.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think he kind of invented the selfie. Doesn't get credit for it.
Josh Arnold
He should.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I mean that. And you're, of course familiar with the fact that he wrote the theme to Friends.
Jess Hooker
Of course, right. Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And he's got a fine line of toothpaste. So, on that note, I'll tell you that coming up in a few minutes, we're going to talk with a guy named Dusty Crumb. Have you spoken to Dusty yet, by the way? Okay.
Chick McGee
How do you think we arranged it?
Josh Arnold
Tom?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Maybe Dusty has people. I don't know.
Chick McGee
I bet he does.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But Dusty runs a business called Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and Python. And they serve, among other things, pizza with python on it. They got a store that has snakeskin everything.
Jess Hooker
I want to know if they have pasta. Python pasta.
Josh Arnold
Oh, the babies.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. No,
Chick McGee
what pasta could you take and say, yeah, this is python Cannoli. Yeah, right. Something like that, Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I don't understand. You mean.
Josh Arnold
Sorry, cannelloni.
Chick McGee
Yeah, like a Tube or something.
Jess Hooker
No, I meant like. Like the way you would have scallops or lobster with your pasta if you could serve that as your meat portion.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, so you'd have a python sauce on.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, Kind of a tudo de swamp, right?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, with a vodka sauce.
Chick McGee
I don't think I could eat snake meat. I don't think I would.
Josh Arnold
I would try it.
Jess Hooker
I've had. I have nugs.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
What if it's ground?
Josh Arnold
Ground up. Oh, so it's sort of like a Bolognese.
Jess Hooker
Oh, maybe. Yeah, that would be okay.
Chick McGee
Although I had gator, but it was breaded.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, all that stuff. The old thing joke is it tastes like chicken because they bread it and fry it. We'll find out when we talk to Dusty. I'm looking forward.
Chick McGee
Dear Bob and Tom Show. Heard you guys talking about urinal splash. Apparently they have conducted extensive studies on the exact situation to find the best spot on a urinal to minimize splash. The real problem is how to get everyone to pee at that spot. Apparently they have done other studies and found men will aim at objects placed in the said urinal.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I. I'll always pee at a cigarette butt.
Chick McGee
Absolutely.
Josh Arnold
A wad of gum.
Chick McGee
The end result is attached photo. Men will aim at a fly or spider painted on the porcelain.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And therefore reduce the spray and minimize cleaning and optimize sanitation. So maybe, Tom, you need to have someone etch or. Or paint something on your porcelain. A little spider or a little fly.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The key is you want to pee on that. You want to pee on the side of the urinal so as the. As the fluid hits it, it doesn't splash.
Josh Arnold
That's not what studies show.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, I bet they paint it on the side. You don't paint it on the bottom. And this is another reason I don't wear shorts.
Chick McGee
Well, it is.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Josh was saying he's got to wash his ankles when he comes out of the bathroom here because he's just peed all.
Chick McGee
If you're standing in front of the urinal, they have this fly. I think we have a picture of off to the left and just in the curve of the urinal back into the left is where you're supposed to be there. See that little dark spot is.
Josh Arnold
That's the perfect spot to pee that. Isn't that funny? So is that far enough to the side for you, Tom?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I would. I try to go into. That's a different type of urinal than I have, but yeah, I would. I try to go to the side wall. Yeah, that's. That's probably. I think you'd be better off a little bit more to the left.
Josh Arnold
See, I'm going right down into the hole.
Chick McGee
No kidding?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, you're getting a lot of splash.
Josh Arnold
I'm getting no splashback.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And the thing. If you go right into the hole, you're getting the last guy that peed his urine on your legs.
Josh Arnold
I hope so.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
That is the goal.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
You guys, my husband sent me a picture of the urinal yesterday from the government center. He was there for a meeting. And the biggest cockroach you have ever seen in your life was crawling across the top of the urinal.
Ace Cosby
It was.
Josh Arnold
That's government center for you. How often.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He just came in to get his check.
Jess Hooker
I'm gonna send the picture to Jason at the break. But it is. Oh, my gosh.
Josh Arnold
It's so that's my number. You guys know that's my number one creep out cockroaches.
Jess Hooker
Oh, really?
Chick McGee
I did not know that.
Josh Arnold
Put ten tarantulas on my face. Okay. But one cockroach two feet from me.
Jess Hooker
Oh, so gross.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You ever seen a palmetto bug?
Josh Arnold
Yes, I have.
Jess Hooker
I don't know what those are.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's a. It's like. It's like a cockroach merged with a gerbil.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah, a cockroach. Have been working out one with an
Josh Arnold
I heart mom tattoo.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Dusty Crumb. Coming up in just a couple minutes, we have time to squeeze in one quick news story. What do you got over there?
Jess Hooker
Sure. A South Florida woman was appalled to receive a new license plate that she feels carries an inappropriate message.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm skeptical of this. I would have. I had. When I first saw this, I thought, oh, this is a vanity plate. They ordered.
Josh Arnold
But she was given this plate.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This is just a random.
Jess Hooker
Okay, so get your pencils out. After renewing her registration.
Josh Arnold
Is that a euphemism?
Jess Hooker
Nancy Delno. Street. Del. No, Streeto. Opened her mail for it to find a license plate reading. Okay, ready? S, Q, z. Yep. Space. A55.
Chick McGee
I think we have that picture. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So sex.
Josh Arnold
Z. Ass.
Jess Hooker
No, Squeeze. Ass.
Chick McGee
Squeeze Ass.
Josh Arnold
Oh, but you can see where I got sec.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Ass.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, that's true, too.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Sqz. To me, that's a squeeze. And then it's a Florida plate. So it's got the oranges. The oranges logo. Then the next word is a 55. And it does look like ass.
Josh Arnold
Squeeze.
Ace Cosby
Ass.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And. And she's complaining about it. She shouldn't. She should sell it.
Chick McGee
Yeah, she should go out, get her ass squeezed. What she should do. Yeah, why not?
Josh Arnold
What do you. Go get that ass squeeze.
Chick McGee
Yes, you prude. Go squeeze an ass. Get your squeeze. I'm gonna trade it in.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I want one that says N O T E E T H. I can lop onto that thing and I want one. Suck the chrome off a Harley.
Chick McGee
I'll tell you. It says SXDVL Sex Devil.
Josh Arnold
I'm the sex devil.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
BK space D O O R. That's me. Give it to me hard. Clem.
Chick McGee
I don't know what that is.
Jess Hooker
Oh, the 76 year old told CBS News. When I saw that, I went ballistic. How could that pass inspection?
Josh Arnold
Because it was innocent.
Lucas Waterfield
They didn't.
Josh Arnold
They weren't trying to do anything. So it didn't occur to though.
Jess Hooker
She's upset. She says that her son and her son's friends have encouraged her to keep.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, we think she's a military guilf.
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Chick McGee
No, no, she's much older.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
71 guilf.
Chick McGee
No, no, she's much older.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Is that.
Josh Arnold
Oh, so she's a good guilt.
Chick McGee
She looks a little bit like Art Carney.
Josh Arnold
Well, what, What, What? Art Carney. Are we talking honeymooners? Are we talking. We're talking Harry and Tonto.
Chick McGee
Harry and Tonto.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, thank you very much. Coming up, we're gonna talk with Dusty Crumb about the pythons and we're going to eating them.
Chick McGee
We're going to have Josh face his cockroach face a year.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
Not. Not an actual physical cockroach in here, but by the means of video. All right. It's unbelievable.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Right now it's money time. Money talk. We're talking a little about some cash.
Tom Griswold
Let's see.
Ace Cosby
Scratch.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You got some credit card debt right now. Prices are getting pricier, if that's possible.
Chick McGee
You know, that reminds me. Closed circuit. American Express. Payment is on the way. Just a common courtesy. I appreciate it. Thank you very much.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's. It's in the mail.
Chick McGee
That's right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, if you're kind of struggling right now, one interesting option. Not even if you're struggling, just want to grab some cash. If you've owned your house for a few years or more, it's probably worth a lot more than it was when you bought it. If you've owned a house and lived in it for 10 years, it's probably doubled in value, which means you can refinance it and take out some of that new value in actual cash. That's the specialty of a place called American Financing. This is what they do. They can help you buy a home from scratch, or they can take your existing home and help you out there, too. That's called a refi. Refinancing. And what's interesting about this is it's no upfront fees and you can refinance and grab some of the equity in your house. Right now, their average client is saving about 800 bucks a month on their payments. So find out if this might work for you. It obviously depends on your situation, but if you're a homeowner, certainly worth a quick phone call and in about 10 minutes they can figure out if it might work for you. American Financing is the name. You can call them at 866-889-2611. I don't expect you to remember that number if you're driving. So just remember American financing.net and now it's staffed by salaried mortgage consultants. And like I said, if you're just thinking about getting a mortgage, they can do that, too. But if you're looking at a refi in order to grab some of the equity, this is what they specialize in. They've even got a thing in which you could possibly delay two mortgage payments so you can get your head above water, et cetera, et cetera. Find all the details by visiting american financing.net nmls182334 nmlsconsumeraccess.org average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.
Chick McGee
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Tom Griswold
Hello.
Chick McGee
There's Josh Arnold.
Tom Griswold
Hi.
Chick McGee
There's ace. I'm Chick McGee and Tom. We kind of have a special pseudo guest son in the studio. Here he is.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Willie G. Is here with us. And do we have a Mr. Crumb?
Jess Hooker
No, not yet.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We're, we're, oh, we do. We're working on getting Dusty Crumb.
Josh Arnold
Oh, we're holding. Yeah. Okay.
Tom Griswold
Dusty Crown.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. Dusty Crumb.
Chick McGee
Who the hell put us on hold?
Josh Arnold
This guy's awesome. Willie.
Tom Griswold
Hell yeah, man. It's a cool name.
Jess Hooker
That's what I. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And we're trying to find out if,
Chick McGee
when I was a kid, the sports guy in central Ohio, Jimmy Crumb.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Josh Arnold
He was.
Chick McGee
He was wonderful. Channel 4.
Josh Arnold
Now, this guy is the proprietor of
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and Pythons. This is an Everglades city of Everglades City, Florida.
Josh Arnold
Way down in Florida.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And what's happening this week in the Everglades? Something special.
Josh Arnold
Special.
Jess Hooker
Oh, the python hunting contest. Is that right?
Josh Arnold
Oh, yes.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
$10,000 at stake, my friends.
Jess Hooker
I think it's more than that.
Josh Arnold
They may give away more, but the winner gets 10,000, I believe.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay. Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I hope it's more because that's what I'll think. Dusty's establishment. Besides serving a python pizza, apparently you can take a python in there and trade it in for a free pizza.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Or I guess it's not a free. It's a swap.
Jess Hooker
It's a swap.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And also they have a lot of products. I was. Was particularly impressed with the official Converse All Star Snakeskins sneakers.
Josh Arnold
They look. They're awesome.
Jess Hooker
I need to see.
Josh Arnold
I'm tempted.
Jess Hooker
I need to see these and.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, it's at Wild Man's. If you. If you go Wild Man's Pizza, etc, you'll find it on the Internet. We're trying to hook up with Dusty.
Josh Arnold
They have clutches. They have
Jess Hooker
a good clutch.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, man.
Jess Hooker
Love a good clutch.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What exactly is a clutch?
Jess Hooker
A clutch is. There's no strap and it's usually. It can fit in your hand and you. It looks like a giant envelope. Most of the time it looks like. Or. Or it looks like.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I certainly have seen those.
Josh Arnold
I didn't realize that's what you called it.
Jess Hooker
You called it a clutch.
Chick McGee
Your clutch.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So if you're putting a lot of stuff in, you've got your cargo in your clutch.
Jess Hooker
Usually a clutch can fit a phone, some lipstick.
Chick McGee
This is what we deal with.
Josh Arnold
Your wallet.
Chick McGee
If you say clutch. Tom thinks clutch cargo.
Josh Arnold
He doesn't think the badass band.
Chick McGee
No, he doesn't think. Yeah, nothing but Clutch Cargo. A bad. A bad kids cartoon show. Ish.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
By the way, speaking of.
Chick McGee
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Honey pot calling the kettle black. I believe you mentioned clutch cargo yesterday.
Chick McGee
I sure did not. Guilty as charged.
Josh Arnold
I remember.
Chick McGee
Did he use mind control on me just now and I did.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, he did. No, he mentioned Mary Matin.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Josh Arnold
And then you went. She talks like clutch Cargo. He did not mention clutch cargo.
Chick McGee
There you go.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You said she moves her mouth funny. Okay. Do we have. On the phone. I believe we have.
Chick McGee
Dusty works.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Here we go, Mr. Crumb.
Chick McGee
Hello? Hey, hey, hey, what's up?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hey, Dusty. It's a great pleasure. We've been. We were. We found out about you yesterday and about Wild Man's pizza, pasta and pythons. And then when I saw your. Your online store, I lost my mind. Snake everything.
Ace Cosby
Mind boggling.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's amazing. Do you. Do you make, for example, those. Those Converse All Star shoes?
Ace Cosby
Do you have a Russian, Ukrainian guy? That is a Sew master. He's sewing them together for. Wow.
Josh Arnold
Nice.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So how does it work? You just take snake skins and make all this stuff?
Ace Cosby
Yep, yep, we recycle them. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And now, now, I noticed the reason you were in the news is your establishment. Apparently, if you walk in, you can trade a python for a pizza. Is that a dead python?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah, you got it. You know, I mean, I don't want to Bite me.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no, no. I was just curious.
Chick McGee
You don't need that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I always want to give it because. Remember those places when you were a kid? You' that have the lobsters in the tank at the restaurant, you'd pick one out and eat it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, Red Lobster.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, that'd be cool.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, Dusty, are you.
Chick McGee
That's a great time to be alive.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Dusty, are you. Are you the kind of person that handles a snake when they're alive?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, unfortunately, I am. I'm the Ted dummy.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Because I saw the photograph of you and you're holding a gigantic snake.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, it's a big one.
Chick McGee
Have you ever been out there on the hunt collecting pythons with the. The guys who do this?
Ace Cosby
I'm the guy that does this.
Josh Arnold
Oh, so you actually are on the hunt.
Chick McGee
Oh, okay. All right.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
Now, now, which came. Which came first? The wild man's pizza and pasta and pythons or you hunting for pythons?
Ace Cosby
Well, I hunted pizza before python.
Josh Arnold
That can be tricky.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I've got a teaser. It says pizza before pythons.
Ace Cosby
You know, I have a pizza oven in my hunting truck so I can cook pizzas while we're hunting. That's where it all started.
Josh Arnold
No way.
Chick McGee
That's amazing.
Josh Arnold
Wow, that is amazing. Dusty, do you. Is the pizza. Is the python for a pizza deal year round or only during the hunt?
Ace Cosby
Oh, year round every day.
Josh Arnold
Okay, okay, now we're all.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm not familiar with how to eat python meat. Can you explain the process? Is it like ground beef? Do you strike, strip the meat off of it? How do you get the bones out? Et cetera, et cetera? Are there bones in a snake?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah, of course there are. Yeah. You know, you're the consumer. So we prepare how you like it. We can make tacos, pizza, whatever you want.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So how do you get the. How do you get the meat? Do you have to fillet it?
Ace Cosby
Yeah, fillet it off.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Is it easy or is it. Is it like cleaning fish?
Chick McGee
I bet you have it down right.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. I'm the fastest Thanksgiving in the south side.
Chick McGee
The fastest snake skinner in the South.
Jess Hooker
I believe it.
Chick McGee
What do you think of that?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So what now? Does python have a fact?
Ace Cosby
That's a fact.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm sorry. We're speaking with Dusty Crumb from Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and pythons. And I recommend the website, especially the store where you can buy cool stuff. And he's in Everglade City. Does python have a peculiar or a particular taste?
Ace Cosby
It's good. It's got a gaming flavor. It's. It's good meat, huh?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And do you want. You what? Well, I know you put it on a pizza. So do you, like, put it in little sort of globs like. Like sausage?
Ace Cosby
It's kind of like a taco meat, you know?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Gotcha.
Ace Cosby
Sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. What is the most popular way to eat python?
Ace Cosby
I mean, it's. It's. Your imagination is Wallace dreams. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So you can do tacos and popsicles.
Ace Cosby
I mean, popsicles.
Josh Arnold
What is that? Right? A python popsicle.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So is it frozen?
Chick McGee
Well, it's like a kebab, right? Yeah, like. Like a chicken kebab, only as python.
Lucas Waterfield
That's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's odd.
Ace Cosby
It could be. I mean, you know. All right, we might be onto something there.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, now, what is the largest selling item from your store?
Ace Cosby
Everybody wants a python wallet from Python Walmart.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
They want the Python Wildland wallet.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. I noticed you have python belt buckles.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Boots, belt seat covers. I'm building the 69 Charger, doing the seats in it.
Josh Arnold
Oh, sweet.
Ace Cosby
Wow. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What is it?
Chick McGee
A 69 charger?
Josh Arnold
Seats are going to be pipes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, my God.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. That's badass.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, it's incredible.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you ever wear python trousers?
Ace Cosby
I have snake boots.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, snake boots. I just bring it up because Jim Morrison, the late Jim Morrison of the Doors, famously wore snakeskin pants for quite some time before his bandmates made him get them cleaned.
Ace Cosby
I can make you some, Tommy, you know, no problem.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm not sure I could pull off snakeskin.
Chick McGee
Yeah, you could.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I give a certain hip vibe, but I'm not sure it's the snakeskin. Hip.
Jess Hooker
Hip.
Josh Arnold
Dusty. Go ahead, Jess.
Jess Hooker
What about a snakeskin strap for your cowboy hat? That's what you need.
Josh Arnold
He has them. He has the hat bands.
Lucas Waterfield
Oh, you do?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, yeah. I got two really nice cowboy hats.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, I got those two.
Chick McGee
He got it all.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, now I want to tell everybody how to find Dusty's website. It's Wild Man's Pizza, Pasta and pythons. And it's a great. You got a whole bunch of cool stuff in your store. And do you make some of this stuff on your own. I mean, I know you said you stripped the skin off.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, we process all here. My wife's here with me. She helps me make stuff and make jewelry, make necklaces out of the vertebrae. You know, we use every piece of the snake.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I saw the vertebrae earrings.
Jess Hooker
Nice.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Really?
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. How many vertebrae?
Ace Cosby
Oh, man, there's a ton.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, I put that in my sats and I. I think I got a check mark.
Ace Cosby
Mark.
Chick McGee
And the. And the website is Wildman's Pizza and Wildman's Pythons.
Ace Cosby
And there's python wildman.com for my load.
Chick McGee
Wildman's pizza and pythons.com and you can click over.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm looking at the store right now.
Josh Arnold
It's just terrific, Dusty. My name is Josh and I've always wanted to do the python hunt. And I may be doing it next year. May I join your team or.
Ace Cosby
Well, come on, I'll make you a pizza.
Josh Arnold
You know, can I hunt with you if you go on it?
Ace Cosby
Yeah. Yeah. Come on, let's go. Let's roll.
Chick McGee
All right, let's roll.
Ace Cosby
I'm just now going to bed.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You guys are waking up.
Ace Cosby
I'm going to bed.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So you hunt them at night?
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I mean, I know I sound like an idiot, because I am, but the. So how does this work? Are you in the water?
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Like in the swamps, walking around.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So do you. Do you walk without shoes into the swamp? And you can feel them with your feet and that's when you grab them.
Ace Cosby
That's. That's it. You know you got toes in the ground.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Are you kidding?
Chick McGee
I don't think so, Tom. That's the process.
Ace Cosby
Wow.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. I've got to do it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I.
Chick McGee
Well, you're insane.
Josh Arnold
How was last night? What kind of bag did you have?
Ace Cosby
You can see Discovery Channel and History Channel, Guardians, Glades Invasion. Watch on tv. I'll show you how to do it.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. Well, we gotta. We gotta get Josh down there. Dusty Crumb. Thank you very much, sir. Once again, it's Wild Man's Pizza, pasta and pythons. Check out the store and make sure you check out. I cannot get over the custom python sneakers with the. That look just like Congress All Stars.
Ace Cosby
I gotta crush you. One minute. There's Snakers.
Chick McGee
Snakers.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Please don't show the proper respect.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Sorry. Sorry. You know, I grew up in a place called Shaker Heights, Ohio. Maybe you should change the name of your town to Snaker Heights.
Chick McGee
That's good, isn't that nice. Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Thanks, Dusty. Great talking to you, Dusty. Appreciate it.
Ace Cosby
Y' all come down. I'll get y' all on the swamp buggy, and we'll get out, catch a big snake.
Josh Arnold
I gotta do it.
Chick McGee
You got it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The swamp bug. Buggy. Awesome. Thanks, Dusty.
Chick McGee
What a great guy.
Josh Arnold
Dusty. Boy, oh, boy.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, my God. I didn't know you did it barefoot.
Chick McGee
What wild man was talking about guardians of the Glades on Discovery Channel. He's evidently on it.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Big star on the Discovery Channel.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. God.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, he. Look him up. He looks like a lot of fun.
Chick McGee
Yep.
Ace Cosby
Nice.
Jess Hooker
I actually want to go now, too.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Hell, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And you could take pictures of 50 people and said, which guy is the. There he is.
Jess Hooker
Is. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no kidding. I gotta. Yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He's got the look.
Tom Griswold
Beard. Maybe I'm imagining.
Chick McGee
Yes. Oh, yeah.
Ace Cosby
Y.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He looks kind of like Oscar.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You know, Oscar's got that look like a CEO.
Josh Arnold
He does look sweet.
Jess Hooker
Sweet as can be.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my goodness. Look at that guy.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Just a great smile and. And kind eyes.
Josh Arnold
Well, I'm glad we have an in now.
Ace Cosby
Yeah. So.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And he was obviously tired. He'd been up all night hunting the snakes.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, there's more. Guardians of the Glades is Dusty Show. And then he's. Appearances on the History channels, Swamp people. Serpent shows up for those.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Chick McGee
Hey, this guy's a mogul, Tom, because
Josh Arnold
I want to go with somebody who really knows what here and can get me.
Chick McGee
You should see the swamp buggy and
Josh Arnold
who, as they would say, put me on some snakes.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm on. I'm looking at the. The wallets and the. Here's the. Okay, here's the. Oh, they got a snake belt.
Ace Cosby
Sure.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, I don't know.
Josh Arnold
Just a snake put his tail in its mouth.
Chick McGee
A snake belt kit,
Tommy (Tom) Papa
snake belt buckles. Oh, my gosh. Did you see the picture of the beagle with the python dog collar?
Jess Hooker
Oh, that's awesome.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's sweet.
Tom Griswold
This might sound dumb. If you cut up a snake like, every six inches and you roasted it low and slow, could you eat it like corn on the cob?
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I would try it.
Lucas Waterfield
I couldn't understand.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I was hoping he'd kind of explained it. I don't understand. If it's like a fish where you pull the backbone and the ribs come
Josh Arnold
out, too, he hangs them, peels all the skin off. That's like a catfish. And then you can. He can take the meat. He can grind it up he can make strips. Yeah, yeah.
Jess Hooker
But I see. I see. You could cook it the way you cook salmon and the skin would become crispy and good. Don't you think that.
Josh Arnold
That maybe. But the skin is worth its. Oh, that's true. They're using the skin now.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The place. Place locally. There's a place that has everything.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. I could go. You want to go check?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you want to see if they have snake?
Jess Hooker
I can.
Josh Arnold
I can try Long John Silver's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no. It's one of those grocery stores.
Jess Hooker
That grocery store has the hairy croissant seaweed.
Josh Arnold
Oh, it does. The pubes.
Ace Cosby
Yes.
Jess Hooker
I'm gonna go get some and I'm gonna make something. And you guys aren't gonna know. Know if it's inside or not?
Josh Arnold
No.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
We have to give a little by way of background. We had a news story about a place. Was it in Thailand?
Josh Arnold
It was.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And they. They called them hairy tacos.
Jess Hooker
Harry. Croissants.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I want to say croissants, rather.
Josh Arnold
I think they used the word pubic.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, that's right. Because it looks. It's a super fine.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it's a beautiful croissant. And then it looks like there is cream inside as well as. As the.
Ace Cosby
The.
Jess Hooker
The puby seaweed.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It looks like penthouse magazine about 1978, when Bob Guccione was really, as Josh
Chick McGee
said it, as horrifying as you think.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah. Boy. To a quote from a novel I read recently. It looks like Larry Zonka down there.
Lucas Waterfield
That's.
Josh Arnold
No way that's recent.
Tom Griswold
What are you,
Chick McGee
century?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, sure. But you can imagine Larry Zona's pubes would be.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Massive.
Tom Griswold
Should I know who Larry Zonk is?
Jess Hooker
I know. Same Lily. I don't.
Chick McGee
Until I started 39 Miami Dolphins with the Syracuse. One of the Syracuse.
Josh Arnold
A lot of hair.
Tom Griswold
Okay, cool. Just.
Chick McGee
I remember him being in here.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I remember Zonka Dolphins. He was in the COVID with a Jim Kick. Whatever his name.
Chick McGee
That kick is flipping off the photographer. Yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Famously famous of my. But just incredibly hairy. And there's a. There's a novel I was reading. And the guy makes a reference to his pubic hair. I'll remember what it was later. Right now. No, I want to remind you we've got some history coming up, but something special going on this week. And not only is there a python
Chick McGee
hunt, we're gonna Josh and face his fears with cockroaches. We're coming up.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. Get into the Hyundai getaway sales event. So in the Everglades, you've got The Python Hunt. Everywhere else you've got the Hyundai getaway sales event. A lot of special stuff going on. Great deals on their most popular models, including the adventure ready SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe or the Santa Fe hybrid and the Tucson or the Tucson Hybrid. Kristi Lee says she's getting about 35 miles a gallon on her hybrid. Plus there's the bold and stylish Elantra with the latest in all technology and the all electric Ioniq 5 or the Ioniq 9. These are all from Hyundai. Check them out by going to your local Hyundai dealer. That's the best way to do it. If you want to get a little preview, go to Hyundai USA.com and see what they look like. But you got to get behind the wheel and see how much fun they are to drive and how contemporary they are in design and function. Once again, it's the Hyundai getaway sales event and it's happening right now. Coming up, a little bit of history. We're gonna hang out with Willie G. He is on the road. We'll find out about some of that stuff and we'll return here. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, thanks for listening this morning. Got something to say? Send us an email. Bob and tomobandtom.com
Jess Hooker
oh, no.
Chick McGee
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Get one tenth of the that attention enthusiasm to the show that he does to posters. We would be. There's Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Here I am.
Chick McGee
There's Willie Griswold.
Ace Cosby
Hey, man.
Chick McGee
There's Josh Arnold. Hello, Ace Cosby.
Josh Arnold
Howdy.
Chick McGee
How do you do? I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hello, Chick McGee. It is now time to check into the world of history and well, there's
Chick McGee
only one event on today, Tom. July 16, 1945. The sun rose twice that day. My friend. Friends. 5:30, 45am you ever want to go out there? I every year I say I'm going out there.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That was the test of the atomic.
Josh Arnold
Would you go go horseback like Oppenheimer would?
Chick McGee
Oh, God.
Jess Hooker
Can you see him on a horse?
Chick McGee
Horses. Doesn't thank.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He was. No, he was, he was an expert horseman.
Jess Hooker
No, I'm just. Can you see.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, I thought, you know, Oppenheimer was,
Chick McGee
I think a nice, nice jeep out there.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that'd be cool too.
Chick McGee
Nice jeep. Go see the, the Trinity site.
Tom Griswold
You could have an equestrian summer. You could get on a horse.
Jess Hooker
He can barely get down the hallway.
Chick McGee
Get My jot purse. I can barely get down the hallway.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The first atomic weapon. It was known as the Fat Man.
Chick McGee
That's right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And that's the same one that was dropped on Nagasaki.
Chick McGee
Hiroshima. Oh, Fat Man. Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, Fat man was.
Chick McGee
Little boy went first. Yeah, Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. But. Yeah, and then they mentioned this in the movie. There was some speculation. I forget what the percentage was. Was that chance that it was going to ignite the atmosphere?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Chick McGee
They didn't know.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Would have been bad.
Jess Hooker
Who played him in the movie?
Chick McGee
Killian Murphy.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I. I get he's an amazing actor, obviously, but don't you think Dax Shepard would have been the better cast in. In her appearance?
Josh Arnold
I. I don't.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I don't either. That guy looks just like him.
Josh Arnold
I mean, because Dax would have had to have lost 75 pounds of muscle.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, probably. But I think they look a lot.
Josh Arnold
Skeleton.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Skeleton.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And Dax seems like such a bro.
Bob Kevoian
He is.
Jess Hooker
I know. I'm just saying, like, just based on appearance.
Josh Arnold
I get what I. I. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And instead of riding a horse out there, Dax would pull up in a 72 GTO that is in part of this car collection. Let's get back to the important thing in his Happy birthday, Roald Amundsen. You know who that is, Ms. Hooker?
Jess Hooker
I don't.
Chick McGee
Oh, I do. But I. When you say it, I'll go. That's right.
Tom Griswold
There's another Roald. That's Roald. Dahl is kind of the big guy for that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. He's the only other Roald. I think he's, like, the second tier of the roll. He was the first man to explore the South Pole.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I wouldn't have gone. He was trying to. I think he was trying to do, like, an alternate Santa Claus thing.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You know, come up with a different version. Is he one of the guys that froze to death?
Jess Hooker
Oh, I can't.
Chick McGee
Oh, no. That's the Terror. That ship. I don't know.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I guess he lost his tongue when he stuck it on the actual pole.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Is that right?
Josh Arnold
Well, he was double dog dared.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Happy birthday. 1907. Orville Redenbacher, the popcorn fruit popcorn king, famously wore a bow tie.
Jess Hooker
Wait a second.
Josh Arnold
Orville Red?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He looked like Don Knotts in a lab coat.
Josh Arnold
Kind of.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He did bow tie.
Josh Arnold
Then his son got involved in the Ed campaign, too, for a while.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
Are one of the plane guys Orville?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay. That's where not.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, you're thinking of Orville and Wilbur Wright.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, they're the. From Dayton, but I think Planes, I think. Popcorn. It's just they go hand in hand.
Josh Arnold
Yes, yes, they do.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And Mr. Redenbacher, he lived quite a long life, but he died a few years ago and.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Famously was cremated in a. In a bag in a microwave oven.
Josh Arnold
Yes, it was.
Chick McGee
Very touching ceremony. Is that right?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Born in 1911. The great dancer, Ginger Rogers. You ever seen any of those old Ginger Rogers movies?
Jess Hooker
No, no. Fred Rogers.
Ace Cosby
I have. No.
Tom Griswold
You have.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, yeah, sure.
Chick McGee
How long were Ginger and Fred Rogers married?
Josh Arnold
No, it was Fred Astaire, and I don't know if they. Were they actually married?
Chick McGee
No, I don't.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And they never really give her credit because not only was she dancing with the greatest dancer, Fred, as she was doing it all backwards.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
And in heels. That's the quote.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. And then she later became famous. She was paired. After he. She quit, she was paired with wasabi. Typically, one gets wasabi with ginger on the side. Okay. Happy birthday.
Tom Griswold
Sushi joke.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Here's some. Here's someone who's still alive. Jimmy Johnson. The. The NFL Jimmy Johnson.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You gotta. You gotta distinguish that.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Oh, not the stock card.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And he's coming out. I just saw this.
Josh Arnold
He's coming out.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. No, he's coming out.
Chick McGee
I mean, Josh is gay. No, no, no.
Ace Cosby
Yes, he is.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He's coming out with a line of shampoo pooh.
Chick McGee
No, he's not.
Josh Arnold
Oh, really?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
He's hooked up with the Johnson Johnson people. It's gonna be Jimmy Johnson, Johnson and Johnson. And then, of course, he's hooked up
Josh Arnold
with Jimmy Johnson now with more Johnson.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And that's. I mean, that's impressive.
Chick McGee
Do you know what you missed yesterday? And I can't believe you missed it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What was it?
Chick McGee
July 15, 2012, this was released.
Jess Hooker
Oh, no.
Chick McGee
God, I love that video. Tom loves this so much. Have you seen the video where it's taken from underneath the stage? And he. He's like, there's. I don't know, 90,000 people. And he gives them the. And they shoot him up onto the stage and he starts dancing.
Lucas Waterfield
That's cool.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Good God, I wonder what he's doing.
Jess Hooker
I do, too.
Tom Griswold
He's like the biggest guy over there. He's the most famous guy there is over there. Oh, yeah. He's moving. He's doing that same dance. That guy can groove, man.
Chick McGee
Sigh, P. S. Yes. Officially released July 15, 2012. Gangstyle.
Tom Griswold
Remember that week that took over everything? That one week? That guy was huge.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. Every sporting event they play showed up on.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Showed up on Saturday night. Live and didn't. And didn't show up at an NFL game.
Chick McGee
I don't know. I don't know. Evidently the Gangnam district in Seoul is very wealthy section of the country and they invented more or less the horse, as you would call it, the horsey dance. They call it the horse riding dance.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Horsey dance. Like the horsey sauce.
Chick McGee
Once again, we're here. Tom and I are in the home. I love that horsey dance. I tell you. Still do it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Some could dance, you know. This is Ms. Hooker, born in 1958, so it's not too ancient.
Ace Cosby
Right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, Michael Flatley, do you know who that is?
Jess Hooker
He's Lord of the Dance.
Chick McGee
He talks like this very. Everything is flat that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They call that soccer dancing. Soccer dancing because you can't use your arms. Oh, yeah. They used to say that the Irish perfected that so they could hold their drinks.
Josh Arnold
That is a good joke.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
A laugh would have been nice, but a compliment.
Josh Arnold
I laughed. I laughed 20 years ago.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Twenty, yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, no.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That joke goes back back more than 150 years. Okay, here we go. This is one I don't think Ms. Hooker will get. None of the boys are allowed to answer.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
More or less retired, I think actress Phoebe Cates.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Married to another great actor, Kevin Klein.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Ms. Kates. I don't think she has worked much. I think maybe she does some stuff for some friends. I think she's pretty much. You know what her most famous scene is for boys?
Jess Hooker
I do. It's Fast Times at Ridgemont High in the red bikini. Yeah. No. Is that not her?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, that's it. Slow Mo.
Chick McGee
We're all seeing it in our minds. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I can hear the song and everything.
Jess Hooker
I just saw a picture of her and Kevin recently and just still in love. And I love that story.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I also love it when actors say that they're done and go, yeah, she did.
Jess Hooker
She said, I'm going to raise a family and be a wife.
Josh Arnold
I hope she comes back for Gremlins 3, though.
Jess Hooker
Oh, that'd be cool. Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Happy birthday, Will Ferrell. Very funny.
Chick McGee
I had enough Will Ferrell. I made that decision yesterday.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Chick McGee
He's got another series on Netflix.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
It's because he's the Hawk or something everywhere right now.
Chick McGee
Hard pass.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, is it a comedy series?
Chick McGee
What is it? Yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
Is he golfing in it?
Chick McGee
I'm just. He's a golf pro.
Lucas Waterfield
He's got a visor.
Jess Hooker
Because he's wearing the visor.
Tom Griswold
Press run got the visor on all the time.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I Like, I like Will. He's very funny.
Chick McGee
Good for you.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That'd be a good name for a cat.
Chick McGee
Will.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Will. Feral. Feral cat, anyone?
Chick McGee
Hey, you're on fire.
Josh Arnold
What responses do you want from these?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I mean, I want to get a letter tomorrow going, yes, we have feral cats. And one of them is laugh and
Chick McGee
scream and carry you out of here
Tom Griswold
with every line you to walk over and kiss him on the mouth. Good job.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I don't know much about this. I don't know much about this guy. Corey Feldman doesn't. Didn't he have some issues?
Tom Griswold
Stand By Me.
Ace Cosby
Yeah, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Good kid. Is he still out there? Is he okay?
Josh Arnold
Yes. Yeah. And he's a musician.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, good. Because I get worried about some of these kid.
Josh Arnold
He had some issues.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
But he is on the Standby Me tour that's going around.
Tom Griswold
I like that he's had his issues, but the boys are still hanging out with him, taking him on the road. I think that's very nice.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, why wouldn't they? I mean, it was a huge part of that.
Tom Griswold
They're standing by their friends and like.
Ace Cosby
Nice.
Josh Arnold
He's genuinely good in that movie.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Great.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The world's first parking meter was installed on this date in 1935.
Tom Griswold
And we should all protest. We should rip them out of the ground.
Josh Arnold
And then Cool Hand Luke knocked it over, cutting heads.
Chick McGee
All parking meter.
Ace Cosby
Weird.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's a weird beginning to that movie.
Chick McGee
Oh, it's wonderful.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And as Chick mentioned, it was on this date in 1945 that the test. The.
Chick McGee
It was Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It was the. The bomb was called Trinity.
Ace Cosby
Right, right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And it was the. Technically part of the. The Manhattan Project with J. Robert Oppenheimer. Big movie made a couple years ago about that.
Chick McGee
The explosion and the heat turned the sand in the desert to glass.
Ace Cosby
Wow.
Chick McGee
And it's called Trinitite, I think now.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, here's something. We were talking about books earlier today on the show. This. I can't believe it's the.
Ace Cosby
This.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
In 1951, Catcher in the Rye by J.D. salinger was published.
Chick McGee
And then he was press secretary for John F. Kennedy.
Josh Arnold
That's right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Who was J.D.
Chick McGee
salinger?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That was Peter Salinger.
Ace Cosby
I don't know.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Pierre Salinger.
Chick McGee
Actually, no, it might have been Peter Salinger.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It was Pierre Salinger. I think it was Peter Salinger. Sounds like somebody you get at the free. At the free clinic. Sorry there, Josh. You got Peter. Air sandwicher.
Josh Arnold
Well, he pulled a Phoebe Cates, didn't he? Like, yeah, you know what? I'm done.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I may still write, but you'll never see any of it.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Great book. Still.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I. I liked it a lot.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And then this is a famous thing in the world. Apollo 11 launched on this date in 1969. And Chick and I disagree on this. I love that movie.
Tom Griswold
Apollo 13.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Apollo 13. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Well, Apollo 11, that's a whole different Apollo.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But I mean. Sorry.
Chick McGee
What the hell's wrong with you?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I apologize. If I weren't being harassed, I could read the stuff
Josh Arnold
we do, give you a hard time.
Chick McGee
You started harassing. With a laugh would be nice. You started it.
Tom Griswold
You're very fun to mess with. You get scared. It's a good time.
Chick McGee
That is true.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Martha Stewart was sentenced to five months in prison on this date in 2004.
Chick McGee
I'd like to thank her. Staff calls her Stewart.
Ace Cosby
Maybe. Why not?
Jess Hooker
I don't think so.
Chick McGee
No, no.
Josh Arnold
Marty Stuball.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Did she. Did she come out of that? Did she like, do a show and do pruno sangria or something?
Jess Hooker
She did. I just. There's a clip that circulates of her showing her her pottery that she learned to do while she was in the clink. And she.
Chick McGee
Very erotic pottery.
Josh Arnold
She loves. She's on record as saying, I love jail. I got so much black.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And it was surprised because I thought she would be in an all female for a.
Lucas Waterfield
Hey,
Chick McGee
I. I think we're about done.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hey, I think you don't need to hear about the 12 new moons discovered in Jupiter in 2018. They got enough moons. Okay. All right. Thank you very much. Are coming right back. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom show show.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Get a look at today's show on our YouTube channel.
Chick McGee
Oh, hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Chick McGee
There's Willie Griswold, my man. There's Josh Arnold. Hey, you sure? And ask Josh about Martha Stewart time in prison. There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick McGee and Tom. We have a special guest in the studio.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And I'll tell you what, I got it right off the bed. Say something is weird. Look at how many tattoos this guy's got.
Lucas Waterfield
Oh, yeah, yeah. That's the most noticeable thing about me. My tattoos, dude.
Josh Arnold
One. One is. Is a badass scorpion, Tom.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
I'm a scorpio.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Our guest is a Lucas Waterfall and he's A scorpio. I didn't know you were a Scorpio. Scorpio. For those that can see you, they can see that your tattoos, they're very inky.
Josh Arnold
And if you're just listening. He's not drunk. He's just got something wrong.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Lucas is a.
Chick McGee
We're desperately trying to ignore it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yes, I. Lucas and I. I feel like such a dick. But then again, why wouldn't. Because I was gonna say Lucas is a stand up comedian, but he's sitting because he's in a chair. You really. Can you stand at all?
Lucas Waterfield
Oh, my. Can I stand at all?
Bob Kevoian
Well,
Lucas Waterfield
not soon, no.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. All right.
Lucas Waterfield
I just was asking one bit.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I knew maybe. What if we just.0.
Chick McGee
Not even a little bit.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So you. If you wanted to feel more like a stand up. What if I got a think about
Lucas Waterfield
it, I start falling.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, could we lash you to a pole? How about that? Tie you to a pole and you'd be like, oh, no. Oh, boy. What?
Lucas Waterfield
I. I did. I. In my college days, I was. That's how I made money. Lat's to a poll.
Josh Arnold
Hey, we all. You all got. You got to pay for tuition.
Lucas Waterfield
We got to make it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You have a situation in your life, what would. What's the proper description?
Lucas Waterfield
Cerebral palsy is my situation.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay.
Lucas Waterfield
I have cerebral palsy. It's a lack of oxygen to the brain when I was in my mother's womb. Do you need me to get more distressed?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, I'm wondering why I don't have it.
Chick McGee
Because I'm sure my brain has never gotten enough oxygen.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So your mom. Didn't your mom smoke during her pregnancy? That explains a lot.
Josh Arnold
Okay, sorry, sorry.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Crack.
Lucas Waterfield
Okay. She did meth. Yeah, it was before meth was cool, though. She was. Was a bit of a hipster.
Josh Arnold
She was a trendsetter.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
Before Breaking Bad and everything.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Our guest is Lucas Waterfall. He is a comedian. And I. I have not met you before. You were here before. I was on vacation.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah. You didn't want to get the cp.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, I. You'll notice I am sitting the farthest away from you.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, you, You. You were trying to get that oxygen to your brain, so.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But it didn't affect your brain. You're very witty and. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now I mentioned the fact that you have a physical issue that you're dealing with, but you, I understand, recently had yet another strike that kind of hits you hard. You busted your leg, is that correct?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, I got. And I got hit by a car.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, geez.
Lucas Waterfield
I got hit by a Car and being. Yeah, I broke my leg. CP and a broken leg. You know, it's like cancer on your tumor. It's kind of redundant.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Were you driving your chair at the time?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, I was. See, the problem was I boycott everything with Watts, so I don't do crosswalks. I don't do sidewalks. I don't do walkie talkies. I don't. I don't. I hate Walkmans.
Josh Arnold
You don't watch Walker, Texas Ranger.
Lucas Waterfield
You know, Christopher Walken? Movies are just. Okay, okay, That's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's close. But I'm curious.
Chick McGee
You're.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You're in the chair, and you. I noticed you have a little gizmo. Electric. Electric gizmo thing that you push it to make that move. It's. And you're quite a nice driver. Joystick. Thank you. But were you on that thing when you got hit by the car?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, I was on. They were. They stopped, which is good. Which, nowadays you never know. It's a crapshoot whether you're gonna stop, but they stopped. And they were arguing. One person was arguing with another whether she was going too fast, and I just wanted an ambulance. And they were arguing.
Josh Arnold
Like. Were they standing kind of over you and arguing while you were just.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, yeah, they were like. You were going too fast. And I'm like. Could we just call.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No. I'm sorry about the broken leg, but that looks like a rather expensive contraption you're using. Did that thing get busted up?
Lucas Waterfield
This is a rental, actually.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, nothing parties like a rental.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna wreck it again. Yeah. But I went to the ER room, and, you know, the doctors were great, the surgeons were great, but, you know, these residents, their kids. This resident suggested that they just chop my leg off because I don't use it.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You know, Are you kidding me?
Lucas Waterfield
Just because you don't use something doesn't mean you chop it off. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So. Yeah, that's where I'm at.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I thought you were gonna say there are a lot of guys that would be dickless. That was the case. Our guest.
Lucas Waterfield
That was the.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Joe, Were you. Were you heading that way?
Chick McGee
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Sorry. I don't know. I didn't. I just figured Lucas Waterfill is our guest and what you call it? Cp. Cerebral palsy. That's the.
Lucas Waterfield
I call it doctors, too.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But you're doing great. You're doing great. I'm glad you are. Okay. What's the rental fee for one of those? What do you call that?
Lucas Waterfield
Is that like a You guys are paying for it.
Josh Arnold
25 to rent one those of those? Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I bet those are pretty steep. So is yours being repaired, the one that you got hit in?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, it's, you know, going through insurance, which could be tomorrow or could be five years from now.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, they never show that in the commercials.
Tom Griswold
And you take them to the shop, they try to give you a new air filter on it. It's always, you know, just a nightmare.
Jess Hooker
Always.
Lucas Waterfield
The upsell, they're. They're. They're testing Snoot through the Grand Canyon.
Ace Cosby
Oh, okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, wow.
Josh Arnold
Well, at least, you know it's going to be.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, is that one as good as the Azures?
Lucas Waterfield
No, this one. This one can't. You gotta push it to get up the ramps and down the ramps. Oh, it's not as powerful, like, sliding everywhere?
Jess Hooker
Oh, no.
Lucas Waterfield
It's like Tokyo Drift.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I want to go back to your getting hit by the car.
Lucas Waterfield
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Was it your fault at all?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Yes, I was. I've been sober. I've been sober for about two and a half years now. And I told my mom, I'm like, if I'm getting. If I'm getting hit by cars, I might as well drink. Why am I. Why am I sober if I'm still getting hit by cars?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I got to start story for you.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I was in Nashville, Tennessee, walking down the street, and a guy walked by me, and he was walking in a very odd manner. And then I realized, oh, my gosh, it's a comedian. Anybody know who it was?
Tom Griswold
Josh Blue.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It was Josh Blue.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And Josh had been in here a bunch. And he also, I believe, believe has cerebral palsy.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tom Griswold
Maybe Bell's palsy.
Ace Cosby
Is that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No.
Lucas Waterfield
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. You say cerebral pal. In any event.
Chick McGee
Well, that explains why he didn't say anything to you because.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
No, no, no, no, no. He. He walked by, and then I turned around with Josh, and he turned around and he recognized me. We talked for a while, but the smell of marijuana was.
Ace Cosby
Oh, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Profound.
Lucas Waterfield
He's a big partaker.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, whatever.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And I'm not being critical in any way, that's.
Chick McGee
But I would imagine it's helpful in some.
Josh Arnold
Sure.
Chick McGee
Some of that.
Lucas Waterfield
I get too paranoid.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
I start thinking, am I mentally handicapped? Did my parents raise me to believe that? I'm not when I am.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I feel the same way. I got. My brain's too weird now to get affected by.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
It's strong, crappy weed.
Josh Arnold
What happened to the crappy.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Let's Go back to the 70s. Our guest is comedian Lucas Waterfill. And we're going to talk more with Lucas. We're going to talk more with Willie G. Who's back.
Tom Griswold
Hey, Bob.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Willie G. Is on the road with Jeff Oscar this weekend. We'll find out where Lucas is going to be when we return. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. But first.
Chick McGee
Yes, but first, Tom, let me tell you about watching where you're driving or you're just talking about don't speed while you're driving. A sharp turn could take you by surprise, causing you to veer off the road. Another car could turn in front of you. A truck could break suddenly. A cyclist could enter the road ahead. A pedestrian could be walking their dog. And your foot on the gas might lead to a tragedy. You may not think any of these things could happen to you, but you won't see them coming until they do. And when you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. It only takes an instant for disaster. The speed limit isn't just there to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and everyone who share the road. So slow down, obey the law and help keep everyone around you safe. Speeding catches up with you, paid for by nhtsa.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Thank you very much, nhtsa. When we come back, we're gonna hang out with these guys. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Like I said, this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Chick McGee
How are ya? Hey, we're back in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studio shows. It's the Bob and Tom Show. Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Help.
Ace Cosby
Hello.
Chick McGee
Willie Griswold in the house, really struggling. Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Chick McGee
Ace Cosby.
Ace Cosby
Hello.
Chick McGee
I'm Chick and Tom looking for his keys. We have a special guest in the studio, Tom.
Jess Hooker
What do you guys. What do you guys guess that he's looking for right now?
Josh Arnold
I'm gonna guess a stir.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tom Griswold
I touched his mouth, so hand. Hand sanitizer.
Ace Cosby
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Okay, that's fair.
Chick McGee
What do you got? What do you need? Can Josh help? He's the clothes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I lost my straw.
Josh Arnold
Oh, straw.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay.
Ace Cosby
All right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I got another one.
Josh Arnold
Is it in your drink?
Chick McGee
Hang on. Our long national nightmare is finally over. Okay.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But we are joined in the studio by our special guest. He is Lucas Waterfill. He is a comedian. And if you're just joining us, Lucas is dealing with a handful of issues and doing a great job. He's super funny and he's Recovering from a broken leg.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Which he.
Lucas Waterfield
You know. And he busted up his complex before this.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Chick McGee
He does that to all of us, whether you have some problem or not.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You sure are doing great, buddy.
Ace Cosby
Hey. Hey.
Chick McGee
You got that yourself this time.
Lucas Waterfield
Good start question stream. Am I.
Josh Arnold
You're right.
Chick McGee
God, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Tom's heart is always in the right place.
Tom Griswold
It's just you.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You don't want people to think that you're drunk.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, well, that was a problem for a while.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I mean, that must be interesting.
Lucas Waterfield
Well, I have had that problem.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
This is very fun. He doesn't drink anymore, and I'm very glad that he doesn't. I mean, just. Yeah, whatever you need. I'm not trying to say anything, but Lucas is fun to get drunk with because you have to help Mouse sometimes.
Josh Arnold
So you're at the bar, you're holding
Tom Griswold
the drink for them. People look at you like you're a hero.
Chick McGee
Nice.
Lucas Waterfield
I never paid for a drink in my life.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you have to wear a diaper?
Lucas Waterfield
No. No.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay. Just asking.
Lucas Waterfield
Willie actually helped me.
Tom Griswold
I've literally helped Lucas Pete before. Me and Lucas are boys.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Okay, good.
Lucas Waterfield
We tried out for Netflix and get on.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Tom Griswold
Lucas did a set at Zany's in Chicago, and they didn't know Lucas was in a chair, and he couldn't get physically on the stage, and that sucked. But he had to perform from the crowd. And Lucas is doing this incredible joke, and he just goes, maybe one day I'll be able to perform on the actual stage at Zany's. I'm not gonna ruin the setup for it. But the place went crazy. He burned the roof off this place, and boy, oh, boy, Netflix did not care at all. But it was a great set, man.
Lucas Waterfield
Maybe one day. Day.
Tom Griswold
He's the best.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Lucas Waterfall is a comedian, and you go with cp. Is that the cerebral palsy? Cerebral palsy. But you're dealing with it. Doing a great job. I can't help but notice. There it is.
Jess Hooker
I was.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Let me finish. I can't help but notice you're doing a great job on the skin. You are. How many tattoos do you have?
Lucas Waterfield
I can't say. About 25, probably.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now I'm trying to figure this out. Is that a tattoo underneath on your chest?
Lucas Waterfield
There's. Yeah, it's a eagle that says, too tough to die.
Jess Hooker
Awesome.
Lucas Waterfield
It's a Ramones reference. Yeah. Now it's gonna be really embarrassing if I die.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Big F. Well, you can have them put one of those circle line things.
Lucas Waterfield
Ask for that mortician.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, what's. What's that on your left arm there?
Lucas Waterfield
Left arm.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Is that the scorpion?
Lucas Waterfield
No, left arm is. It's an hourglass that says so it goes little Kurt Vonnegut. Oh, sure, yeah, I read. I can read.
Josh Arnold
You're doing great.
Lucas Waterfield
Thank you.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What's on the right arm? You have to look. I would think you would have seen him enough.
Lucas Waterfield
Oh, you're like this. I have idle, as in idle hand tattooed on my right hand. Because it's the crazy one that doesn't
Tommy (Tom) Papa
do much, that right hand,
Lucas Waterfield
you know?
Chick McGee
No.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you still have the cast on from the broken leg?
Lucas Waterfield
No, I. I got the stables out. Got my tibula. Got a metal rod in my leg.
Chick McGee
Holy heck.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, that was a month ago, and I'm here.
Jess Hooker
Good.
Lucas Waterfield
So. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
At least now with a broken leg, you can board airplanes early. Yeah,
Lucas Waterfield
I think. I think that, you know, next time I board an airplane, I think what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna dress up like a pilot. They born me early because, you know. And so I know you guys know because you all get pissed at us. They get everything.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Look at how good they've got it.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah. So group A will know it's a bit. But group B and C will be like, is he flying the plane? Is he flying the plane? And I'm gonna be up front, shout out, shaking everybody's hand. There's gonna be some turbulence. Once we get above the clouds, it'll be good.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Our guest, Lucas Waterfield. Do you have one of those. I met the young lady helping you, but do you have one of those special dogs, those helper dogs?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, he's in. He's in prison right now.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, he's getting trained in prison.
Josh Arnold
Nice.
Lucas Waterfield
So he's part of icann. Indiana Canine Assistance Network.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's cool.
Lucas Waterfield
And they train dogs. Great organization.
Josh Arnold
What if he comes out with a teardrop tattoo?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What kind of dog is it?
Lucas Waterfield
Black Lab. He was afraid of my cat, so they had to train him.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And you kept the cat?
Lucas Waterfield
I'm trying to get rid of the cat. I'm trying to find the cat at home. This was a big, elaborate. I'm not actually a comedian. I'm just trying to get rid of my cat.
Chick McGee
It's a hoax.
Lucas Waterfield
So what's your cat.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What's your cat's name?
Lucas Waterfield
Serotonin.
Ace Cosby
All right.
Lucas Waterfield
Pretty good.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What's your dog's name?
Lucas Waterfield
Clifford.
Josh Arnold
Clifford.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah, Clifford's a good guy. He helps me a lot. He helps Me have a dog, mostly. That's the main. And. And get laid helps with that always.
Jess Hooker
Good.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, you mentioned that you were in an accident, but you said that you've been sober for a couple years.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, I've been sober for a while, I think since Netflix, I'm pretty sure
Tom Griswold
that I was the last person to ever drink with Lucas. I got Lucas. We got. We were in Chicago. We finish up at Zany's, we go to Old Town Ale House, and Lucas, we call him a cab for him. A cab.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What do you call those?
Tom Griswold
Cabs for disabled folks?
Lucas Waterfield
What do you call those caps?
Tom Griswold
Perfect. Got it. Nailed it. We call this old, like, Greek Polish. Like, looks like John Belushi's dad pulls up to pick us up, and we're like, hey, man, this is Lucas trying to get him in the cab. He's like, I cannot take him. I cannot take him. And I'm just like, hey, man, that's offensive. Like, this is. You legally have to do this, man. That's the ada. And he goes, no, it's not because of wheelchair. I do this all day. It's because he's too drunk.
Chick McGee
I go, what if I just ride in the back and I hope, hold his neck?
Tom Griswold
And he goes, yeah, come on in. So then I got in the back, and I'm holding his neck, talking to this old man. It was a blast, man.
Lucas Waterfield
I don't remember any of that.
Tom Griswold
So Lucas is learning about this for the first time. But it was a nice night. We had a good time.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Ace Cosby
Wow.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, tell me more about your life as a kid.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah. So, yeah, I got my parents raising me. We got in a lot of awkward situations. Like, a couple years back, I was trying to get a shower, and there was no one there to give me a shower, you know, as you do. There was no one there to give me a shower. So my mom, of all people, had to give me a shower. So there I was, about 20 years old, soap all around me, naked. And my mom looks at me and she goes, lucas, what did you do to yourself? And I go, mom, this is awkward. I have no idea what you're talking about. And she goes, you know exactly what I'm talking about. And she calls from her dad, Mark Giddenhill, what your son did to himself. And my dad walks in, takes one look, and he goes, well, it looks like he shaved his pubes. And then my mom goes, me and your father have never done anything like that in a while. So there I am, 20 years old, just staring at my parents and Their eyeballs. And all I can think of is their gnarly, untamed pubis. And my mom goes on. She goes, that's awful. That's sick. How did you do that? I know that. You can't do that. How did you do that? I go, mom, a friend did this for me. She goes, that's awful. That's terrible. That's a terrible. I go, no, mom, that's a great friend. Great friends shave their friends. Pew.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's a T shirt.
Lucas Waterfield
It's very inspirational.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, wow.
Lucas Waterfield
And I don't know, I mean, I think, you know, it's hard raising a kid in a wheelchair. It really is challenging. But I always thought it was tougher raising, like, a douchebag as a kid, because other parents go up to you and they're like, you know, your kid, he. He really sucks. And you have to be like, I. I know.
Ace Cosby
We're.
Lucas Waterfield
We're trying. We told him, stop wearing afflictions, stop watching the ufc.
Chick McGee
You know, we're trying.
Lucas Waterfield
You know, I feel bad for these parents, man. These parents of douchebags. I'm gonna start a charity. It's gonna be Support parents of douchebags. Gonna have the ribbons and halftime shows, everything.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Teach the kids to wear their hats, the brim out front. Now, Lucas Waterfill is our guest, and you're in a very elaborate wheelchair.
Lucas Waterfield
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Which you mentioned. That's currently your rental.
Lucas Waterfield
Rental?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
The one that you had. Did you go to the store to buy it and try it out like you would an automobile?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, the national seating. I do national seating. There's a. Our people. They got the hookup.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, does the sales guy come up to you and say, what's.
Chick McGee
What's.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What's it going to take to put you in this wheelchair today?
Lucas Waterfield
I go. I go. Medicaid approval.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's all it takes.
Lucas Waterfield
As long as they approve it, I'm good. No, it's good. It's got. It's got an advance. I've been in a chair since I was three, so I imagine a three year old driving around. It was. It was fun.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Were they electric back then?
Lucas Waterfield
Even back then, I mean.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I mean, you had to pump it up.
Tom Griswold
You pumped it up for a while,
Josh Arnold
then it would kind of just go.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
This is finally the thing that gets me insulting.
Lucas Waterfield
It was wooden.
Chick McGee
You had to get out in front.
Josh Arnold
Crank it. What did you feed the horse?
Tom Griswold
Horses.
Lucas Waterfield
They would cover up my legs with a flannel blanket.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Lucas Waterfield
Like fdr, right?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
They must not see the boy's legs.
Lucas Waterfield
I Actually have polio, but yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So you've always had an electric one?
Lucas Waterfield
Yes.
Ace Cosby
Never.
Chick McGee
Not steam powered or anything like that.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I think the days of the old ones. That sound like a Chris Craft. It's a little bit of a. You put the high test in them. You can't use them indoors for too long. Smoke up the room.
Lucas Waterfield
I. I used to use diesel, but that got too expensive.
Josh Arnold
Oh, sure.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's a direct. Now we're going to continue to talk with the fellas. Before we do that, I wanted to ask Willie, you saw the band the Strokes last night. How was that show?
Tom Griswold
It was incredible with my older brother. He showed me that band when I was a kid. We got to, like, go together. It was very hot.
Jess Hooker
Did you cry? Did you cry?
Tom Griswold
I didn't cry.
Jess Hooker
Oh, good job.
Chick McGee
And I cry.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You guys know this.
Tom Griswold
I cry constantly, all the time. I'm always crying, crying.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I hear bird chirp the wrong way.
Tom Griswold
I cry.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I'm trying to remember. Were you with me when I saw the Strokes?
Tom Griswold
I was in fifth grade, Remember?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That's the time that the lead singer got so drunk that they had. The roadies had to come out with flashlights because they couldn't find the microphone. Yeah, he. He was doing a handheld mic thing. Oh, wireless.
Tom Griswold
I think Julian had some. Some issues. But I'm pretty sure he's all good now. And he killed it last night.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah, he's great. It was one of my favorite shows ever.
Tom Griswold
It was incredible.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But it was pretty funny when halfway through with all these roadies are out there, where's the microphone? He kind of heaved it. It was great. Well, we're gonna take a little bit of a break. We're gonna come back. I'll remind you that Willie is doing a special show with Mr. Osuke at a place called Nashville, Indiana, this Saturday night. I'll give you some details coming up on that. Tommy (Tom) Papa
Saturday.
Chick McGee
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom show. We're in the oreillys Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker at the news desk. Hello. There's Willie Griswold. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi there.
Chick McGee
Ace Cosby.
Ace Cosby
Hello.
Chick McGee
I'm Chick McGee and Tom. We have a special guest
Tommy (Tom) Papa
comedian. He's right there. He's Lucas Waterfill. And Lucas is an old friend of Willie's. Actually, Willie's here too. Willie G. Hey. Back in the studio and we were talking about Lucas, Your, your entrance into the world of sobriety.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now. And you do have cerebral palsy. Did you, were you advised not to drink alcohol or is that, is it just like everybody else?
Bob Kevoian
Just.
Lucas Waterfield
Well, they advised me not to have five shots a day, which is.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
Is that for everybody else?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Was that, what was your, what was your favorite form of alcohol?
Lucas Waterfield
Oh, tequila, baby.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, man, that's. That's my favorite hard alcohol.
Lucas Waterfield
Oh, yeah. And now I'm not high end. I can go mid shelf and be fine.
Josh Arnold
Y.
Lucas Waterfield
That's how you know you're drinking. I don't need that high end stuff.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now. Were you using a straw or were you throwing.
Lucas Waterfield
No, I was using welly.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
So you, Is that what you.
Josh Arnold
Body notes?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And it's weird. It's very hard to get my Belly button up there.
Lucas Waterfield
You ever seen the movie Coyote Ugly? I was John Goodman.
Tom Griswold
I have both used a straw to give Lucas, like, a whiskey, ginger or whatever. But I also have just thrown a shot right down his mouth.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
People look at you funny when you do that. It looks like I'm either I'm forcing it on him or like I'm some
Josh Arnold
sort of hero helping.
Lucas Waterfield
I love to go.
Ace Cosby
Go.
Tom Griswold
No, stop.
Lucas Waterfield
The same with tattoos. I'm like, no, why are you doing this to me?
Jess Hooker
They took me.
Lucas Waterfield
They took me off the street.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Once again, Lucas has a number of tattoos.
Lucas Waterfield
Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hands, finger, wrists. The chest. On the back, too.
Lucas Waterfield
On the back. I have a Meyer threat and black flag tattoo. I'm at a bit of a punk rocker.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Nice.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Black flag. The band, not the pest control product?
Lucas Waterfield
No.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Lucas Waterfield
I think they were named after that. Maybe. I don't know. Yeah, I've. I've. Yeah, I. I was good at drinking and I was good at being crippled. I just wasn't good at both.
Josh Arnold
Not a multitasker.
Lucas Waterfield
One's easier a kick than the other.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Prior to your sobriety, were you a fan of. Of the gummies or any of the THC infused products?
Lucas Waterfield
No.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You said you. It makes you.
Lucas Waterfield
Makes me too paranoid. Makes me too.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Lucas Waterfield
Like I said, they're too good, you know?
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Well, today's. I guess today's. Today's marijuana. Apparently extraordinarily strong.
Lucas Waterfield
Apparently.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Now, ever drink wine?
Lucas Waterfield
Wine, beer, I've had them all. I did not cross alcohol. I did not like. Beer is always weird through straw because it's, like, very, like, fizzy and, you
Josh Arnold
know, a lot of it's not great.
Lucas Waterfield
It comes out the other end too frequently.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Yeah. I mean, obviously it's a fairly elaborate production, I guess, for you to pee.
Tom Griswold
I notice the same thing whenever I wear my double beer helmet with the big straw that goes around. It's not never the same. It's never.
Ace Cosby
No.
Jess Hooker
No.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah. On 500 day, you're like, yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you.
Tom Griswold
Two IPAs through a straw.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Did you ever smoke cigarettes?
Lucas Waterfield
I smoke cigars on occasion.
Chick McGee
Oh, still.
Ace Cosby
There you go.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, that's my one thing. That and caffeine is like my one thing. I like cigars.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Do you have to have someone hold it up to your mouth?
Lucas Waterfield
No, I. I do. I burn myself. I like.
Chick McGee
That's how good the cigars are.
Lucas Waterfield
Keeps me alive, baby.
Josh Arnold
You deserve it.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Isn't that a Black Flag song? I burn myself.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, but I don't know if I'm alcoholic. Like, I think. I think the definition Is too loose. Like, I think anybody could be considered an alcoholic. Like, I think Jesus Christ himself was an alcoholic.
Ace Cosby
Really?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Tell us. And piss people off.
Lucas Waterfield
Can you imagine Jesus in aa? Like, hello, my name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I'm the king of kings, the lord of lords, the alpha and omega. And yes, I'm an alcoholic. I first realized I had a problem when I would go to weddings. And instead of just leaving when the wedding was over, I would turn all the water into wine. And then I got into prostitute and I didn't have anything. You know, I don't make much on the carpenter salary, so I had to pay with them whenever I had, which at the time was eternal life. Then I started doing some weird washing random women's feet. And then my father forsaked me and I had a hangover that lasted like three, three days. So I do what every sober person does now. I've been sober for 20, 26 years now. Do what every sober person does. I just sit around and judge people all day. I'm going to hell for that joke. Little known secret. All crippled people go to hell.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's true. What a crazy thing.
Lucas Waterfield
Because there's too many steps to get to heaven and we're trying to get it changed, but heaven's a historical landmark.
Chick McGee
A lot of paperwork.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That'd be ironic if you're doing that joke and you walked the crowd.
Lucas Waterfield
Never happened.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
That is a brilliant piece of comedy. Really. That is really fun, funny.
Lucas Waterfield
Thank you.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
And I'm sure someone won't get it. We'll get the letter.
Lucas Waterfield
Thank my Sunday school teacher.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Oh, well, that's very good. Once again, Lucas Waterfield is our guest. We certainly appreciate your coming here. Probably glad we got the ramp at least, huh?
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah, yeah, that's a.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
You know, we got it. We got two ramps. We got a ramp in the back.
Lucas Waterfield
Look at you.
Josh Arnold
He's doing great, isn't he?
Chick McGee
You're doing real good, Tom.
Lucas Waterfield
Tax break for each ramp.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
If we just wanted to know. Next time.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Go to that back ramp.
Lucas Waterfield
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
All right. Well, now I. I suppose we have time to get one more news story. And do you have one over there that you think is especially interesting?
Jess Hooker
The house passed a bill that would make daylight savings time permanent.
Josh Arnold
You know, this seemed like kind of a no brainer. And then the more you look at why people are against it, you go, oh, that. Okay, maybe we should.
Jess Hooker
It's really not necessary. Yeah, people.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
People get so angry when they have to change the clocks that if they keep. If they keep daylight savings Times permanent. It'll be really dark in the morning in the winter.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Your kids will be going to school. It won't get. You'll be watching the sun rise.
Jess Hooker
I just feel like we should trust nature on this one, you know.
Josh Arnold
So you're saying let's eliminate.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Changes.
Jess Hooker
Yes, I think so.
Tom Griswold
I just. It gets really tough in the winter when the sun sets at like 3:30 and you're just like you know what, let's just call it a day tomorrow.
Jess Hooker
But that's what you're supposed to be doing. You're supposed to be resting in winter.
Chick McGee
That's my favorite time of the.
Ace Cosby
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I love it when it sun sets at 5:30. I'm the. I'm a happy guy. Yes sir.
Lucas Waterfield
It's. It's very.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
It's very controversial.
Chick McGee
That's right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
They want to the idea to keep with daylight savings time the whole year so that nighttime activities and golf courses and everybody. They can stay open.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
It provides more daylight during the times when Americans are most active. Right, right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
What was that? I forget the. It passed.
Jess Hooker
The vote was 308 to 117.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
But that's the House.
Jess Hooker
That's the House. Yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Who knows if it'll go to.
Chick McGee
Well that depends on what they decided in the Senate. That's right. My fellow senator Hallowish's boss, Stitch. Oh yes.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
I do not want to have a nice romantic. I'm not going to watch a nice romantic sunrise while I'm having my lunch.
Chick McGee
That's right. It's not natural rule.
Josh Arnold
Completely against our nature.
Lucas Waterfield
Thank you all the senators are going to have sundowning earlier. I don't know what's a pass.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
Hey Lucas, thanks for coming in. We appreciate it. Willie, we're going to see you tomorrow.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
See you again.
Tommy (Tom) Papa
All right.
Chick McGee
All right.
Tommy (Tom) Papa

It's like Peyton Manning and his brother watching the NFL. It's well worth checking out on our social media and we'll have some. Some of the stuff with. With Lucas on the tv. So be. Check. Check all of our social media for that stuff and check us out on YouTube. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

This episode of The BOB & TOM Show combines the show’s signature blend of comedy, banter, listener interaction, quirky news, and featured guests. Today’s focus bounces from zany bits (like the “Shirtless Girl” superhero parody), listener emails, beards, urinal technique, and animal-themed stories, to an extended, highly entertaining chat with python hunter Dusty Crum and an invigorating segment with comedian Lucas Waterfill. Banter is quick and loaded with irreverent humor, with a consistent through-line of pop culture, oddball news, and self-deprecation.
This episode is a quintessential BOB & TOM experience—a fast-paced, joke-heavy, and unexpectedly heartfelt romp through comedy bits, real-life weirdness, and interviews with unforgettable characters. The tone is breezy, with self-effacing and occasionally edgy humor. For the full effect of the guests (Dusty Crum and Lucas Waterfill), jump to [58:53] and [126:52] respectively.
