Hi. O. Hello.
Chick McGee
Wiener, wiener wiener.
Bob Kevoian
From the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios,
Chick McGee
the
Bob Kevoian
Bob and Tom Show. Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Look at Tom.
Tom Griswold
Look.
Bob Kevoian
Looking all newsy. Look at her.
Chick McGee
Wait a minute. Someone's got a job interview today.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, newsy, newsy, newsy.
Jess Hooker
Fingers crossed.
Bob Kevoian
Did you do me a favor? Put in a good word for me?
Jess Hooker
Absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
There's Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
Without his sling, whatever that is, there's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Bob Kevoian
There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick. Hello.
Chick McGee
Tom in the role of Pat's dad. Are you supposed to have your sling off?
Pat Godwin
No.
Chick McGee
Well, then, okay, now don't come bitching to me now. A week from now, I can't come in my army. They're gonna have to go in and tighten the screws again and I'll be disabled for the rest.
Pat Godwin
Pretty good impression.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, first of all, amazing impression.
Jess Hooker
Nailed it.
Bob Kevoian
Secondly, and totally accurate what you're saying,
Chick McGee
Are you sure you're supposed to not have this sling on?
Pat Godwin
It makes it sore. So I took it off. I'm ready to go. I can't play yet. But it was.
Bob Kevoian
I'm ready to go. I can't play yet.
Chick McGee
Did your doctor say it's okay?
Al Jackson
No.
Chick McGee
Okay, great.
Al Jackson
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Does your doctor listen to the show? And if I were him, I'd say no, but go ahead.
Chick McGee
No, not this and not at the early hours. Okay. Well, all right. Be careful over there.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe he's enjoying some tea time out there. Maybe hitting the links early this morning in the dark. Yeah, I played. I played golf in the dark before. You use a glow in the dark ball.
Chick McGee
It's kind of funny way to do it. Oh, really?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, no,
Josh Arnold
you can't cheat easy. I got to do one of my favorite things in the dark today. Talk to me on the way in. Guy was driving the other way, right. Assumed my brights were on, so he flashed his. Oh, no, no, no. These are my brights.
Chick McGee
I love it.
Bob Kevoian
Love everything about it.
Chick McGee
And as I've been saying for years, I would like to. I'd have to talk to Mr. Spielberg, but I would like to get the rights to having a special button where you could go regular lights, bright lights, and then Spielberg setting, which would be like in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the great scene where it would just blind the person. I experienced that a lot, especially on this road. Our radio stations on earlier in the morning, people tend to have their brights on because of the. The deer population, et cetera, et cetera.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that makes sense. But I mean, when it happens to me, my brights are not. I have. I'm lucky enough to have a car that has the brights that's dim themselves up to date.
Bob Kevoian
Technology. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
What?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I forget what that's called. Adaptive bright.
Bob Kevoian
Hang on, Tom.
Chick McGee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yours turn themselves on.
Josh Arnold
I was gonna say there's no way his dust.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. If you find the setting for it, which is impossible, it can be done. Yes.
Al Jackson
Oh.
Chick McGee
So I'd have to look through that whole array of.
Josh Arnold
And I mean, they're good. I've tested them morning after morning. And like, it's not like the car comes right on you and then they dim. They dim when it's way out there.
Bob Kevoian
So it's like a little man is driving your car with you.
Josh Arnold
Right, right.
Chick McGee
I like having all that stuff manual.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I typically do too. This one's good, though.
Chick McGee
Do you ever car that to the left on the bottom where your feet are? There was a little metal thing, a little button you'd click with your foot to turn the brights on?
Pat Godwin
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
No.
Bob Kevoian
And the best thing about that is you'd get a gas.
Al Jackson
A foot.
Bob Kevoian
Gas pedal shaped like a foot. So you put that over the gas pedal. And then they also had a smaller foot for the dimmer switch, and you put the little, small one on the dimmer switch.
Jim Rome
So.
Al Jackson
Cool.
Bob Kevoian
And then you get the dials to hang from your mirror.
Josh Arnold
Did you guys prefer that to the console? Sort of.
Chick McGee
Bright control.
Josh Arnold
Okay, well, don't say like that.
Pat Godwin
I didn't.
Bob Kevoian
I kind of did. Yeah.
Chick McGee
There are too many things up there.
Bob Kevoian
Now, Josh, you're assuming you're conversing with a normal human being.
Chick McGee
I mean, the wipers now, they've got, like, three speeds, and they got wipers in the back.
Jess Hooker
Back.
Chick McGee
And you gotta.
Josh Arnold
Well, I want to say I have 14 speeds on my wife.
Chick McGee
Whatever.
Josh Arnold
I mean, it's.
Chick McGee
I don't know. It's a. They've got a rheostat on them or something.
Bob Kevoian
Speaking of wipers, guess what I did a couple days ago? Changed my wiper blades on my car.
Pat Godwin
On your.
Bob Kevoian
On your own? On my own.
Josh Arnold
I'm impressed. I'm impressed.
Pat Godwin
I couldn't do.
Jess Hooker
Nope.
Al Jackson
Sure did.
Bob Kevoian
I had to watch nine YouTube videos. And of course, there was a trick to it, but, yeah, got them on.
Chick McGee
I want to thank the guy at O'Reilly Auto Parts who did it for me.
Bob Kevoian
And as long as I don't go over 35 miles an hour, they stay right on the car.
Pat Godwin
As long as it doesn't rain.
Chick McGee
Yeah, those can be tricky.
Josh Arnold
They can be. Dude, stop.
Bob Kevoian
But when you get. I don't understand how they're on the car, but I did it correctly. And there they are.
Chick McGee
But, no, I. I'm not kidding.
Bob Kevoian
I still look at.
Chick McGee
The guy at. O'Reilly was kind enough to do it for me, because I couldn't. It's. It's interesting that you mentioned the YouTube videos. That's now how you found out how to do pretty much everything.
Bob Kevoian
And they all start the same way. So you're painting a ceiling in the bathroom, and then they explain everything.
Chick McGee
They're not all good.
Bob Kevoian
Well, yeah, it's like anything else.
Chick McGee
Sure, Yeah. I was watching one where this guy, for some reason, had really bad music underneath it the whole time.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And I couldn't hear him talking, but.
Bob Kevoian
But you thinking it's bad music, that's.
Chick McGee
No, no, it won't. Trust me, I know you have. I know you have some taste.
Bob Kevoian
Enter the young.
Chick McGee
No, no, no. It was like some, you know, base thing going with bad directions. In any event, coming up, we have your letters and we got a new way for you to access us. You can go to bob and tom.com and just click on it and get right to us. If you'd like to send us an email with whatever's on your mind, I got a stack letters over here we'll be getting to shortly. Coming up today it'll be a comedian Bobby Jacox. Looking forward to having Bobby in the studio. Comedian Al Jackson will be joining us.
Bob Kevoian
Sweet face.
Chick McGee
And now I know Patty G. Has taken off his sling following his surgery.
Pat Godwin
Stop saying that.
Chick McGee
But. But that will not prevent you from singing. Oh, no, no.
Pat Godwin
Velvet voice.
Bob Kevoian
I was sitting right here when he said he's in good voice. That's what he said.
Chick McGee
So we have. But you can't play an instrument today.
Pat Godwin
Not yet.
Jim Rome
No.
Bob Kevoian
But.
Chick McGee
So we have a. A recorded background for one of the pieces that we have today.
Pat Godwin
I thought we brought the Bandit.
Al Jackson
No.
Pat Godwin
Okay.
Chick McGee
But we'll be getting to that at some point soon because today is a special day on the official calendar of special days.
Jess Hooker
It is.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Today is. Well, you didn't see it. I thought I gave you that.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah, that's. Yes. Do you want me to tell them what it is?
Chick McGee
Yeah, sure.
Bob Kevoian
What pseudo important day is it today?
Chick McGee
This is a nice one.
Al Jackson
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Gorgeous grandma day.
Josh Arnold
How about that?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
What does that even mean?
Jess Hooker
I guess it's like. It means guilt.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. All right.
Pat Godwin
They're out.
Chick McGee
I don't think it means guilt, Pat.
Bob Kevoian
And I think he's right. They're out there. Yeah.
Pat Godwin
That's all I got left. That's my dating pool.
Chick McGee
Well, we'll be hearing about some lovely grandmas. So if you're a grandma or if you've got a grandma. Today is a special day.
Bob Kevoian
You want to be a grandma?
Chick McGee
This is. Do something. Do something nice. I never had. I mean I had technically grandparents. They were dead when I was born.
Al Jackson
Born.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, so one could assume your birth killed them.
Chick McGee
They were dead long before I was born.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Pat Godwin
Sadly.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Chick McGee
So I don't know what.
Bobby Jacox
Don't.
Chick McGee
Don't know what.
Bob Kevoian
It's like you. You weren't privy to grandpa wisdom.
Chick McGee
No, my. One of my grandfathers was alive until I was about 3, but he was not with it.
Jess Hooker
Oh, gotcha.
Chick McGee
He was in the. Whatever you want to call it. Dementia.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Pat Godwin
So he was.
Chick McGee
It was awful. One time. I remember the only. My earliest memory was how much his house smelled like. Like I think death.
Bob Kevoian
My. Well, this is my grandparents. My grandparents house at my dad's. Mom and dad. It smelled like mothballs yeah. And it took me forever to figure out what the smell was and when I found it. Yeah, that's it. Mothballs.
Chick McGee
God, I haven't have seen a mothball in 50 years. Are they still out there?
Bob Kevoian
I. I would imagine they're still. We have a. Have we whipped moth by now?
Josh Arnold
I don't think so.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Basically. What? You'd put your clothes in a cedar closet. Yeah. And throw mothballs in it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Every. Every closet in their house. It's just gorgeous. But every. It was a cedar closet.
Chick McGee
But that's nice. But I mean, are my balls still a thing?
Jess Hooker
I think probably.
Bob Kevoian
I think so. I can get them here this afternoon. I bet. Yeah.
Chick McGee
They're like talk.
Bobby Jacox
If you.
Chick McGee
If you don't know what we're talking about.
Bob Kevoian
Well, you don't eat them.
Chick McGee
They're the size of marbles, right?
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Give or take.
Jess Hooker
Oh yeah. Maybe a little bigger.
Chick McGee
Yeah. I don't know. I haven't seen her in ages.
Jess Hooker
You like the smell?
Chick McGee
No, it's awful.
Bob Kevoian
I. I do because. Yeah. It's comforting.
Jess Hooker
Nostalgic.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
When he wasn't drunk, you know, it was.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Your grandfather.
Jess Hooker
It's too early for your story.
Bob Kevoian
He would. He would start it.
Chick McGee
Oh no, no, no.
Bob Kevoian
Start at 2 o'. Clock. 2 o'. Clock. Watching. Listening to and watching the Chicago Bears game. And by, I don't know, 3:30, that. That whole bottle would be gone. A little. Little Jack. Little Jack and Grandpa. Yikes. And it was all stereotypical. My grandmother was. Well, let's not get into that. That is too early to talk about.
Chick McGee
Oh yeah. Oh yeah. One of my uncles married a lady who my mom thought she was carrying around a thing of apple juice all day. My mother was somewhat naive.
Bob Kevoian
Turn out to be their own urine.
Chick McGee
No, no, it turned out to be whiskey.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Chick McGee
That's an ugly story.
Bob Kevoian
I took it away.
Chick McGee
Those are the two cousins. I don't know if they're alive or not.
Bob Kevoian
Those are the ones you. Is that the Vegas story?
Chick McGee
No, that's a different one. Those are the two cousins that no one ever met. They're. I'm not. I'm.
Bob Kevoian
I remember this.
Chick McGee
Yeah. My. My. One of my mother's brothers had.
Bob Kevoian
Did they.
Chick McGee
Sons. And then they. They.
Jess Hooker
Like I had another family.
Chick McGee
No, no.
Pat Godwin
They.
Chick McGee
They. They had a very unpleasant divorce and no one ever saw them again. Which in the 50s is amazing.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Did they pop up at any will or anything? No.
Chick McGee
No one knows who they are, where they are.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Chick McGee
They're probably dead. So much for such a joyful beginning for the show.
Bob Kevoian
All right, now go out and make it a great.
Jim Rome
Okay.
Chick McGee
It's got some great letters here, some exciting things to review, including a public nudity, A really interesting letter about swimming naked.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I think this is a. I'm a fan. This is a hot topic every time we talk about high school, school age children having to swim naked in class.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And there's something really interesting that I've never heard before. And it could be something and a story and may have to weigh in. And I'm not kidding. It's really, really interesting. Also coming up, you want to give us a sports tease.
Bob Kevoian
Well, sure. In sports, we'll talk about the wnba and there was an announce, some sort the NBA WNBA Commissioner Kathy Engelbert Humper Dink. We're talking about the new contract coming down the road. And the All Star game is Saturday night in Chicago for the WNBA. And we'll talk about the rosters.
Chick McGee
And the NFL starts with August 6th.
Bob Kevoian
Canton, Ohio.
Chick McGee
Man, hard to believe. Just around the corner.
Bob Kevoian
Thank goodness. It's been a long, long, dark off season.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. For all of us.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. See, everybody feels this.
Chick McGee
Well, Pat will look forward to hearing you sing again for the first time in a while.
Pat Godwin
Thank you.
Chick McGee
Right now I want to remind you that I don't really have to remind you, now that I think about it, everything's gotten so expensive. That $9 iced tea that you got with your lunch yesterday.
Pat Godwin
That's right.
Chick McGee
Well, this is perhaps why you've got those credit card bills. They're way up there. And you may have noticed that the interest rate on those is some somewhere legally in the 20s, 20%, whatever, 24%, whatever. It's amazing. Well, maybe you want to get rid of those, pay them off. One of the ways you can do that is take advantage of the value of your home. If you own your own house. Listen to this. You can actually refinance that and take advantage of the fact that it's worth a lot more than it was. Chick was telling me about some friends of his that they were what, in Austin, Texas, and bought their house 10 years ago. They just ended up selling it and it was more than double what they paid for.
Bob Kevoian
They did quite well.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You don't have to sell your house to take advant of the fact that it's probably worth more. It depends on your situation. Obviously, American Financing is a company that does this. They help people refinance, grab some of the cash, some of that equity out of their house and various figures from them their average customers are saving between 200 and $800 a month on that mortgage payment by doing a refi. Get the details from the professionals. And by the way, no upfront fees up front. Fees are involved, I should say. And they have a staff of salaried, salaried folks that can walk you through this. So there's no pressure. Might might suit you. If it does, give them a call. Once again, it's called American Financing. You'll find them at 866-889-2611. Easier to find them by going to American financing.net as a favor to the show. Please put a slash Bob and Tom so they know that you were kind enough to contact them courtesy of us. Once Again, it's American financing.net nmls182334 nmlsconsumeraccess.org Average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.
Jim Rome
Jim Rome takes on sports.
Chick McGee
I will always have a complicated relationship with this game, but people evolve. So do sports. Do not make me regret this. Do not make me devolve back to that guy that so many clones wish that I still was. And do not embarrass the entire country. Now I can go back, get there fast, lose tonight and you got a real problem. Do not blow it.
Jim Rome
The Jim Rome show podcast.
Chick McGee
You've been warned.
Josh Arnold
Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
Bob Kevoian
Welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Bobby Jacox
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick McGee.
Bob Kevoian
There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
Now, Josh, you have that first cup of coffee look on your face. Is that, is that hot and steaming and wonderful?
Josh Arnold
It is innocent of any pretension. Nice, but not without except your description of it. Will you let me finish?
Chick McGee
Sorry. Sorry.
Bob Kevoian
Don't get in the way of him telling people about their coffee. Some people wait all morning, but not
Josh Arnold
without its own attitude.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, nice. Hello, Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick. And it's time for emails from around the world, our listeners brought to you by Sleep number Save on comfort personalized to you only. Sleep number right now. Bundle and save over $300 on select mattresses, plus those adjustable bases. Visit a Sleep Number store or now on your computer@sleepnumber.com and once again, we've got something new.
Chick McGee
If you want to write us a letter, it's a lot easier. Just go to bobandtom.com and click. There's a box there that'll send us right to you. Got a stack of Letters from that new. That new service, if you will. We were talking about primarily boys schools or summer camps where you would swim without bathing suits.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And this was a thing. We found out that the YMCA pretty much required that because it was just for men. The YMCA back in the day. And until it looks. Look, it appears that in the early 70s that clear heads prevailed in the naked swimming thing kind of was phased out. But my. My boys camp when I was little.
Bob Kevoian
So what, age? What, like 10, 9? 10 earlier.
Chick McGee
Well, they had it. They. Each grade was designated by a bird. It was a chicks runs chick chick, wrens, crows, falcons, hawks, eagles. Oh, but, yeah, you had to. You had to swim naked in the pool.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Chick McGee
But there was just boys there. Except for I mentioned Mrs. Finley. The. The athletic director's secretary had an office right there by the pool. So you'd run up the ramp and have to walk by Mrs. Finley.
Bob Kevoian
Totally naked.
Chick McGee
Totally naked. It was incredibly embarrassing.
Bob Kevoian
And you are also. Josh and I were talking about this off the air. We were intrigued by one of your camp stories where you and the other boys at camp would have urine fights out on the. Out on the docks. You'd see who could urinate farthest Is that true? Yeah. Yeah. All right. Okay.
Jess Hooker
I don't think that sounds that crazy.
Bob Kevoian
No kidding.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Jess Hooker
For boys to see how far they can pee.
Josh Arnold
That's crazy. It's just nothing I was ever part of.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, no, I do. I do. Yeah. Any sort of nudity at all? I. I don't.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Jess Hooker
Well, they're not nude.
Josh Arnold
Well, just. You're taking your wieners out.
Jess Hooker
Well, you guys do that in front of each other every morning.
Bob Kevoian
You might as well know.
Pat Godwin
Partition there.
Jess Hooker
Bathroom.
Bob Kevoian
No, we don't.
Chick McGee
We do it off the dock and.
Bob Kevoian
You do it off the dock. Yeah.
Chick McGee
There's always that one freak kid
Bob Kevoian
who's all already through puberty.
Chick McGee
I know that.
Bob Kevoian
Know that.
Chick McGee
Has the. I'm not sure. I'm not sure what the physics of it. What would cause you to have that incredible distance? Yeah. No, yeah. But I mean, there's always the one guy that just freakishly.
Josh Arnold
See, that's the. Again, there's always that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
No, no, this was not something that we took part in. I know we cannot actually.
Bob Kevoian
We have.
Chick McGee
I think. I think it's. It's quite clear that the richness of my life is.
Bob Kevoian
We have an email from an astute listener. Could be letter of the year. It points out, Tom, some of your idiosyncrasies, if you will. May I continue?
Chick McGee
Yeah. Can we get to the nudity thing real quick.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, you go right ahead.
Chick McGee
This comes to us. And I will underscore the name orally. Phyllis.
Josh Arnold
All right. Hi, Phyllis.
Bob Kevoian
Phyllis. Hey, Phil.
Chick McGee
Lady Phyllis.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
When we had gym class.
Bob Kevoian
What is it about Phyllis? You need to explain that. This is the lady's name.
Chick McGee
It's from a Goyle.
Bob Kevoian
Ready? All right.
Chick McGee
When we had swimming in gym class, we had to line up nude and then were issued our bathing suits. After swimming, we had to line up nude to get a towel. This was in the 70s, man. And the lady that gave us our suits and towels was always staring at us.
Josh Arnold
How about that?
Chick McGee
She actually names the school in order to avoid a lawsuit. I won't. It's. But it happens to be in, let's just say the capital of a state shaped like a palm. That has an upper peninsula, by the way, in all caps. We hated it.
Josh Arnold
Sure. Uncomfortable. I bet.
Chick McGee
Love the show. Did you ever have any kind of nudity in school for the ladies?
Jess Hooker
No. We would shower after gym. You had the option to shower after gym.
Josh Arnold
Would you have to get shirtless, not braless, but shirtless for a scoliosis test?
Jess Hooker
100. That's when she said that. That's the first thing I thought that that was the only time. So you had to take your shirt off. And we weren't even in the locker room. We were in the gym and we were all lined up. And most girls would wear a sports bra knowing that that was the day that you were gonna get checked. And then you would bend over and touch your toes, Right? And. Yeah, they would.
Josh Arnold
You guys have the scoliosis tests run
Jess Hooker
their hand up and down your back and. Yeah, they would.
Josh Arnold
I don't remember being touched during.
Chick McGee
Was there a medical professional or was this.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, sometimes they brought in a separate.
Chick McGee
Was this like the hockey coach?
Jess Hooker
School nurse.
Josh Arnold
Gotcha.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So it was a professional. Okay.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So is it aren't bending over and touching your toes? Isn't that a stripper move?
Jess Hooker
No, I think it was to see if there was a curve in your spine.
Josh Arnold
In that case, yes. But you guys are both. Right?
Jess Hooker
Yes, yes. Just different locations.
Bob Kevoian
Absolutely.
Chick McGee
But did you shower in the nude with your fellow or. I'm not fellow.
Pat Godwin
But you're.
Josh Arnold
We had the choice after gym class.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Yeah, we did too.
Josh Arnold
We. No one ever did. Ever.
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean? They never showered without your clothes? Yeah. How else would you shower in a swimsuit?
Chick McGee
You know, something I. I.
Bob Kevoian
With. I'm trying to help.
Chick McGee
I withdraw the question.
Josh Arnold
On swim days we would all get in the shower in our swimsuit and just rinse off.
Bob Kevoian
Right. There you go.
Josh Arnold
But any other day, because I had gym first period for semester.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, so you get ready, get up, get ready for school.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Then go right to gym and then
Bob Kevoian
start it all over again.
Josh Arnold
And then. But no one showered after.
Pat Godwin
Really?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yeah. Well, I think that it's that way in a lot of schools. If it's cool to shower after gym, you shower. If it's not cool.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Like the cool kids. Yeah, the cool kids didn't do it. So no one did.
Bob Kevoian
Right, Right.
Jess Hooker
This was only in middle school, though. We did summer P.E. in high school, so nobody took P.E. during the regular school year. Did you guys not do this?
Bob Kevoian
No.
Jess Hooker
We had the option for summer pe, which meant, like, we would go canoeing and we would do a bike and a hike and all these things.
Josh Arnold
Sounds awesome.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. So we. And it was just like four weeks, but it was like a four hour. It was a half day.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, my.
Jess Hooker
And then you knocked out your PE credits. And then I went to sign up for PE my sophomore year, and they were like, no, you already have both your PE credits. And I was like, cool. I didn't have to do it again.
Chick McGee
So back to nudity.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah. If you would. If you went swimming, you had to shower with your. Obviously with.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And then typically someone would. You'd be just standing there innocently in the shower, and all of a sudden you'd get a bathing suit in the face.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I. I told you guys this a couple of times. On the football team are all the coaches.
Chick McGee
We.
Bob Kevoian
Everybody after practice would get in the shower and shower off, Coaches included.
Josh Arnold
What if it was a camaraderie thing?
Bob Kevoian
Absolutely.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You know, and I.
Jess Hooker
Do you have young coaches, though?
Bob Kevoian
Very much so.
Pat Godwin
We didn't.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
I remember we had. We had one old guy, and I remember thinking, jesus. What?
Bob Kevoian
I don't know. I don't think our head coach was 25 at the time.
Josh Arnold
Oh, wow.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I won't give you too much information, but if I had to give the guy a nickname, it would have been Little Whitey.
Josh Arnold
Got a good look.
Bob Kevoian
You know, that reminds me of when I. I'd showers. You know, I. I'd help the guy next to me with his back and he'd help me with his back.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Here we go. This is.
Bob Kevoian
We were teammates, John.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Chick McGee
If there's any. Any historians out there listening, listen to this. This. This may. This may require some follow through. This comes to us from. We'll Just call him Steve.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
He goes, my father, because that's his name.
Chick McGee
My father went to Yale. Bulla. Bulla, New Haven, Connecticut. In the years before it was co ed.
Bob Kevoian
I told people, I've gone to Yale. They don't question it. Go ahead.
Chick McGee
He was in the same class as George Bush, the elder.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
You know what happened when George Bush didn't study?
Josh Arnold
What?
Bob Kevoian
When the test would come around, he goes, not gonna take it. Not gonna take it. Not gonna.
Chick McGee
He was in the same class as George Bush. To graduate, basic swimming proficiency was required.
Bob Kevoian
You said that was that way in New York.
Chick McGee
It was, yeah. When I went to Columbia, the same thing. You. You had to. I don't know if they still do it, but you had to swim, I want to say four laps.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
And if you couldn't, you had to take remedial swimming. And several of my friends had to do that.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
But when we did it, you were issued a bathing suit.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
But to get back to our letter. So George Bush, who would of course become president, had to take the swim test. They all had to take it in the nude. My dad said everyone also had to have their photographs taken extensively to examine for scoliosis.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, my goodness.
Chick McGee
So he goes. Somewhere there is a cache of old photos complete with nude pictures of George Bush and other prominent yalies.
Jess Hooker
Wow.
Chick McGee
We've got to get somebody on this. I mean, presumably the. The Secret Service went through these.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
40 years ago and deleted them.
Bob Kevoian
Redacted.
Chick McGee
Yeah. There you go.
Bob Kevoian
Hopefully.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Well, you had to predict it in this case.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Thank you very much. Yeah. You had to be able to swim to graduate.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And supposedly. And I don't know if this is.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, Tom. It's supposedly.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Supposedly. It's because when the Titanic sank, there were a couple that. Whatever. Yalies that didn't survive.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Chick McGee
Because they couldn't swim and. But that was a requirement. And I do not know.
Jess Hooker
No, we didn't have a pool in my high school, so we didn't have.
Bob Kevoian
I think it should be more that way. Like you. You have to balance a checkbook. You have to swim. Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
But the swimming.
Bob Kevoian
Something from a recipe.
Chick McGee
A lot of my friends that. Because I went to college in New York City, a lot of the guys that were from greater New York, especially from the city.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
They didn't know how to swim and they didn't know how to drive.
Jess Hooker
Right. Because they didn't need to.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
But there's an A movement now to. Especially in certain communities to make sure kids Learn how to swim.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Which actually contemporary news stories might be part of that, but yeah. Important to know how to swim, nude or otherwise.
Bob Kevoian
Would you believe me if I told you I could always swim and no one ever taught me?
Jess Hooker
I. I think people. Yeah, I think that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, absolutely.
Josh Arnold
I never took official lessons.
Bob Kevoian
Never did.
Chick McGee
Yeah, my kids now, they take lessons at. I think it's called goldfish.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
When they were. Start with. So they. When they were babies.
Josh Arnold
I love that.
Jess Hooker
Oh, when they flip.
Bob Kevoian
Where are you on that? Do you approve of like 6 months and under babies as soon as they can. 100. Really?
Josh Arnold
The videos are hard to watch.
Jess Hooker
I guess I can't imagine being a mother sitting.
Josh Arnold
There's nothing bad about them. It's just hard to watch them just. They just throw babies in the water and the babies.
Chick McGee
Well, this was.
Bob Kevoian
Know how to do it.
Chick McGee
This was done very professionally.
Josh Arnold
Well, even. And honestly, Tom, even this is professional. It's just a weird thing to watch.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
But it's. If you've got a little kid, remember
Bob Kevoian
that baby one year won the 100 meter beat breaststroke at Barcelona?
Chick McGee
Very important.
Bob Kevoian
Amazing.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it is important.
Chick McGee
But yeah, the moms are. The moms are in the water. The dad's in the water with them and. But yeah, they all. They all went through that and now they, of course swim like fish.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So. But yeah, in any. In any event, that's interesting about the nude swim back in the day.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
What did you say? Eli? Bula. Bula.
Bob Kevoian
Whatever. Yeah, at least.
Chick McGee
Okay, now we have time for one more letter. You said you got something revelatory over there.
Bob Kevoian
Just. Well, it's kind of a long one, so we should probably come back with it. But this real short letter. Dear Bob and Tom Show. My name's Daryl. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm watching on YouTube this morning while I'm at work.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Jess Hooker
Daryl.
Bob Kevoian
Hi. How are you? You can watch on YouTube too.
Jim Rome
Just.
Bob Kevoian
Thanks.
Chick McGee
Okay, real quick, I mentioned.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, YouTube.
Chick McGee
I mentioned that the athletic director's office was right there by the pool and you can see in them when all the boys are swimming nude. And Mrs. Finley was there.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
She seemed to be relatively unfazed. Really?
Jess Hooker
So she didn't like rank. You guys put up numbers?
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, she had.
Pat Godwin
Was she an older woman?
Chick McGee
No, she was probably. Well, her son was in my class, so she was probably.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
40. Ish.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Naughty friend's mom.
Chick McGee
I. I will underscore our topic by reading this. And I'm sorry, I'm having trouble finding who it's from? Oh, I'm.
Tom Griswold
It's.
Pat Godwin
It's.
Chick McGee
It's from Mick. He writes this sounds like part of Tom's school experience. The new middle schools, the new medic, the new middle school I went to. In the boys locker room, there was an office for the gym teachers with a window that looked into the boys showers.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Ostensibly so the teachers could put a stop to any shenanigans.
Jess Hooker
Ours was that that way. Our locker room had a window? Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Really? Yeah.
Jess Hooker
The gym teacher's office had a. Like a two way or a. Yeah, a window just like these. She could see.
Chick McGee
See these days. That has to be super awkward, even for the gym teachers.
Josh Arnold
We had it, but not for. In the shower. It just went out.
Jess Hooker
You could see the shower. I mean, so it wasn't like directed, but. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
Very awkward. Well, we'll come back with more of your letters.
Bob Kevoian
Peed on in the shower, Josh.
Josh Arnold
No, no, that would have been.
Bob Kevoian
I did.
Josh Arnold
The person who did it would have been like. Nobody would have thought it was funny. Yeah, they would all gone. What is your problem?
Chick McGee
Not my. Not my man.
Bob Kevoian
I got. And they just thought it was Richard
Jim Rome
Pryor
Bob Kevoian
and laugh and laugh.
Chick McGee
That was a. Times have changed.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Chick McGee
What happened to the good old days when you could urinate all over somebody? Well, right now I want to remind everybody that Christie's taking a vacation day. She is going to look at the. The tall ships.
Bob Kevoian
She is.
Josh Arnold
Sounds like such a funny thing to do. I want to go see the tall ships.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I think, and I think I believe she drove her swell new Hyundai. That's correct. Yes.
Chick McGee
And it is appropriate because the Hyundai getaway sales event is up and running. What am I talking about? Well, it's your opportunity to get a great deal on Hyundai's most popular models, including their SUVs. The Hyundai Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Hybrid, the Tucson or the Tucson Hybrid. I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who was a car guy. He said, man, these hybrids are wonderful. Christy was telling me she gets. What'd she say? 35 miles to the gallon.
Bob Kevoian
Yep.
Chick McGee
The bold and stylish Elantra from Hyundai is out there. It's got all the latest technology. Go all electric with the Ionic 5 or the Ioniq 9 from Hyundai. So check it out online by going to Hyundai USA.com or visit your local Hyundai dealer. Get away with a deal. You'll love the Hyundai getaway sales event coming up. Comedian Bobby Jacox will be joining us. We've got some pretty cool monkeys on the Loose news in Florida.
Josh Arnold
Look over there.
Chick McGee
There's a monkey. By the way, they're urging you to stay away from them. Monkeys are crazy.
Josh Arnold
I'd like to see a bunch of monkeys on a tall ship. Running a tall ship.
Chick McGee
Oh, great.
Bob Kevoian
Swinging from master.
Chick McGee
One of them has an eye patch and one of those pirate hats.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. They're swinging up there.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You could have a barrel on board.
Josh Arnold
Sure.
Bob Kevoian
Why? Why would you have a barrel, Tom?
Chick McGee
Because that's where the monkeys go. Oh, a barrel O. Monkeys.
Bob Kevoian
A group of monkeys. Yeah.
Chick McGee
These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jim Rome
Hey, thanks for listening this morning. Got something to say? Send us an email. Bob and Tom. Bob and Tom.com
Chick McGee
tickets coming.
Bob Kevoian
Welcome back.
Chick McGee
Oh, poetry. I know what you're thinking.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts studios. Think O'Reilly Auto Parts. For all your car care needs. Get the parts and service you need fast from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Jess Hooker at the news desk. Hello, Hello, Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, man. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
The avocado I'm having is so buttery and delicious.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Josh Arnold
I wish I could share it with the world.
Chick McGee
And this is amazing because you had a great cup of coffee.
Pat Godwin
Coffee.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And now a great avocado.
Josh Arnold
Now the only issue is I wasn't able to refill my coffee because I was too busy cutting up.
Pat Godwin
Oh, boy. Let's get on that.
Bob Kevoian
And you're far too modest to mention this, so I will. You have a superpower, being able to pick the ripest avocados.
Josh Arnold
I know I can do it day to day. So if I buy four for the week.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Josh Arnold
I know this one will be good on Thursday, this one will be gone Saturday, that kind of thing.
Jess Hooker
Let me see. It looks pretty. It looks perfect. It is.
Josh Arnold
I have one bite left.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
And you have one of those things like a pill caddy, but for your avocados.
Josh Arnold
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
That's right.
Chick McGee
So you walk out in the morning, oh, look, there's the Tuesday.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
A little bigger compartment.
Chick McGee
And I would mock you, but my new big thing is avocado toast. That's right.
Josh Arnold
Real tasty, isn't it?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I've never heard of avocado toast.
Chick McGee
I'd heard of it. I never got it. And then all of a sudden, I. It had a delicious.
Josh Arnold
It a huge. It was huge. What, 2010 or maybe. And then all of a sudden it became kind of a. Oh, you're still having avocado toast for, like, I don't know, a year. And then I think the world went, no, no. Why are we pretending like this was a fad? This should be all the time.
Jess Hooker
No, it's all the time. Yeah.
Chick McGee
That's good.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
This is the kind of cultural things on this show. We can help.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
We can help remedy problems in culture. Now, we had an interesting letter from a guy whose dad went to college with the elder George Bush, and he was saying that he had to take a swimming test in the nude.
Josh Arnold
All the.
Chick McGee
All the men did. That's. When Yale was. University was a.
Josh Arnold
That's.
Chick McGee
I mean, that's just fascinating. You've been talking about nude swimming in public. That's certainly gone away.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
But do you ever hear the story about the. The. The two hillbillies talking, and the guy goes, where'd you go to. Where'd you go to college? Yale. Where'd you go to college?
Josh Arnold
Oh, it's a great one.
Pat Godwin
Love it.
Josh Arnold
Excellent.
Bob Kevoian
That is. You could tell that to anybody.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that's.
Pat Godwin
That's right out of Toastmaster at a party at church.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Josh Arnold
Everyone laughs.
Chick McGee
The Ivy League meets the Hill.
Bob Kevoian
It would go like this. Hey, Father, I've got one for you.
Chick McGee
And there you go. I have a question. We should talk to a priest about this. If Christy were here, she could ask her priest friend, I have a priest. I wonder if anybody. Oh, do you have a priest friend?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. No, I have a priest at my church.
Chick McGee
I wonder if anybody ever, during the confession, tells a joke.
Bob Kevoian
The answer is no to lighten the mood.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I bet. I bet they, on occasion, it's happened.
Bob Kevoian
Absolutely.
Chick McGee
Father, before I get to this. Did you hear the one? I'm sure it would be relatively clean.
Josh Arnold
What do you think, Pat? You're saying? Absolutely not.
Pat Godwin
Yeah. I grew up in the Catholic Church. Definitely not.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. At a different time, I think. But, like, I've. I've been Catholic in my adult life.
Pat Godwin
Right.
Jess Hooker
And I've had young priests, and I could be talking and, like, kind of just say something off the cuff, and there's a. There's a giggle or a grin, but in the confessional. In the confessional. Like. Like what I'm saying, like, oh, man, I don't really want to tell you this, but, you know, and I wondered.
Chick McGee
I wondered if today's the current Pope, American, from Chicago.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Super bright guy, speaks a bunch of languages. I wonder if you could actually have a conversation and say, hey, now that you're the Pope, nobody probably ever Tells you jokes anymore. Right.
Jess Hooker
You know what I'm saying?
Chick McGee
Because he's in this sort of lofty position that people aren't gonna tell him the latest.
Josh Arnold
I think in that case, it's up to the Pope to break the ice with a joke.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Josh Arnold
Hey, hey. I'm the type of pontiff that will.
Chick McGee
So he would go. It'd be like, so a rabbi and me walk into a bar.
Josh Arnold
Yes, I hope that's exactly what would happen.
Chick McGee
Could he tell a pope joke about
Bob Kevoian
himself or a rabbi, a minister and me walk into it? There has to be.
Chick McGee
And getting back to the elder George Bush, famous for his love of the dirty joke.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
David Copperfield.
Chick McGee
Really? He was famous for that. And we're in for wearing crazy socks.
Pat Godwin
Wouldn't he grab butts and pictures when
Bob Kevoian
he would get y. If you had your picture taken and you were a girl, he would that. You know how Tom has something he says. Yeah, absolutely.
Chick McGee
No, wait a minute. Make it. I don't do that.
Jess Hooker
I was gonna say finish.
Chick McGee
I don't touch anybody.
Bob Kevoian
You don't touch anybody. But you run your trap. I'll tell you that.
Chick McGee
I have a thing that I say that usually elicits smiles.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, now we're all grouping together. We're getting our picture taken, Usually taking it. And from the back, you hear.
Chick McGee
I'm usually behind someone. And then I'll say something like, did you ever see the movie Deliverance?
Bob Kevoian
There it is.
Chick McGee
Always gets a chuckle.
Bob Kevoian
Always gets it.
Chick McGee
For people of a certain age, sure. It's time to bring that movie back. That's a fine remix still out there. No, no, the original's great. They could never make it any better.
Bob Kevoian
Well, but they will try.
Chick McGee
And Ned Beatty in the scene afterwards where he's eating the corn. Oh, that is just amazing.
Bob Kevoian
He's eating the corn.
Chick McGee
I always wanted to talk to him about that. That's so subtle. No, no, no, he did. It's time to get back. Nisa, you have kind of an interesting letter over there.
Bob Kevoian
Bob and Tom show. I heard Josh talking about Tom's spoon system yesterday. I don't know if Jess heard this, but I. I think you're in charge of all things. Buys this utensils. Yeah, I bought these.
Jess Hooker
Yes, you're right. You did.
Bob Kevoian
This is from Scott. I heard the spoon system from Josh. It caused me to start thinking about all of Tom's intricacies and how mine are similar.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
I used to think the things I would do were normal until after my kids got a little older and they told Me. They are not normal. So I figured we could play a little game called Is it Normal, or is it Tom number one. I never open a door with my bare hands. Always use my shirt over the doorknob.
Chick McGee
Shirt tail.
Bob Kevoian
Yep.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
I hate doing that.
Chick McGee
Okay, well, what I try to do is if they have. See, this is why I hate those things. Those air dryers. No, no. When you're leaving a men's room.
Jess Hooker
Okay, just the bathroom.
Chick McGee
Those air hand dryers then. Which don't work anyway.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, there's no paper towel.
Chick McGee
Yeah, there's no paper. I like. I'll take a paper towel.
Bob Kevoian
I've had them. The door hands dried by an air blower.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, but then. Then you go to the door, and the guy that doesn't wash his hands has touched that door handle, and you're about to get well.
Bob Kevoian
No, that's what. Like you said, I use my shirt to.
Pat Godwin
Speaking of doors, has anybody seen our front door?
Jess Hooker
Why does it say that?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I did. There's a sign. Did you guys chicken? Tom, did you see the sign may have been put on after you arrived?
Bob Kevoian
I pulled to Tom. I walked in and didn't notice.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay. There's a. It's a sign on the. Our front door that says human door, and it's a reference to something Tom said yesterday.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I missed it.
Chick McGee
I was talking about the human door from my garage to my house.
Bob Kevoian
As opposed to the garage door.
Chick McGee
No, you say the garage door.
Bob Kevoian
He was trying to. He was trying to explain something to us. And as usual, over explaining.
Jess Hooker
It's an entry door. Yes.
Chick McGee
Yeah. As opposed to the garage door that you can drive a truck or your car through.
Bob Kevoian
But the garage door is an entry door but not a human door. But it can be.
Jess Hooker
I don't know. Okay, fair enough.
Chick McGee
I was discussing my Auntie Gerk's Ashers.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
Her cremains.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
They were by my garage.
Josh Arnold
We got to come back to this doorknob stuff. Yeah, we have.
Bob Kevoian
There's a 10 here, and there's a major amazing.
Josh Arnold
I. I don't like pointing out Tom's hypocrisy, but there's a major hypocrisy.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yes, I agree.
Bob Kevoian
He's a walking contradiction. Partly truth, partly fiction.
Chick McGee
I do have Lysol that I. When I come in the morning, sometimes I'll spray everything everyone would touch.
Bob Kevoian
You know what I got for the home computer? I finally leaned into it, and I got three or four of those canned air to blow the keyboard off. And, boy, My life has changed. Yeah, I'm really starting to get a hold of things.
Chick McGee
Those are way overpriced.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, gosh.
Josh Arnold
They are.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they sure are.
Chick McGee
You start spraying stuff and immediately goes into the freeze zone. All your stuff turns with a white frost.
Bob Kevoian
What is that?
Chick McGee
I think it's a Freon. Well, we are going to come back to this place. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jim Rome
Hey, thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Get a look at today's show on our YouTube channel.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah, they're rocket ships.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. At the news desk, it's Jess Hooker.
Jess Hooker
Hi.
Bob Kevoian
There's Pat Godwin.
Jim Rome
Hello.
Al Jackson
Hello, Pat.
Bob Kevoian
There's Josh Arnold. Hi, There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick McGee. And hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
Mike Marks here. My sister just sent me this picture.
Pat Godwin
Look at that.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Janny.
Chick McGee
We gotta. We gotta post that one.
Josh Arnold
Is she shaved or.
Bob Kevoian
All right, I'm. I'm a member on the. On hers only fans.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
Nice perks.
Josh Arnold
Her free page or her VIP page?
Bob Kevoian
A VIP page.
Josh Arnold
No, no.
Chick McGee
This is a picture of me at age 21.
Jess Hooker
Oh, good.
Bob Kevoian
Are you saying don't hassle me, man?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Long hair.
Bobby Jacox
Oh, yeah.
Pat Godwin
Nice.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Josh Arnold
Very cool.
Bob Kevoian
Gorgeous head of hair.
Pat Godwin
Look at that hair.
Chick McGee
Oh, my God.
Bob Kevoian
Can't wait to share that on our show.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I'll do that in just a second.
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom show, this gentleman, Scott, he has similarities in his everyday life that he likens to. Tom. First of all, he never opens door with bare hands. Over the years, I've tried the every single toilet paper brand to find the best texture.
Chick McGee
Now, by the way, you said you have a problem with opening the doors.
Josh Arnold
I do. So I'm with you. I prefer a bathroom that has paper towels right there. And a lot of paper bathrooms have learned, like public bath paper towel right there and a trash can right there. Because people were probably just using it for the door handle and then throwing it on the ground. And that's annoying if you work there. But I don't use my shirt tail. I get the con. I get the urge to do it, but I don't. And here's why. The jerk. Whatever's on that door handle is now on your shirt tail all day. I would rather use my hand. And then in my car I have dude wipes. I can just use that to.
Chick McGee
What if you. What if you're having lunch? You go you pee. You wash your hands for a wet
Josh Arnold
nap or just have something. I mean, you're. The shirt tail makes no sense. If you really think about it now. And what Tom does is he doesn't. Like, he wants a paper towel because he just said the filthy people who don't wash their hands will open that bathroom door and leave here. Tom has a habit, and you know this.
Chick McGee
Oh, I know.
Josh Arnold
Of using the restroom here. Leaving the restroom and washing your hands
Chick McGee
in the kitchen because the water's hot.
Josh Arnold
But you understand.
Bob Kevoian
But the water is hot in our.
Chick McGee
It takes too long.
Bob Kevoian
In the men's room.
Josh Arnold
It really takes about 15 seconds.
Jess Hooker
No, you turn on the water before you go to the bathroom, and then it's hot when it's time to wash.
Josh Arnold
Now I got you. But.
Chick McGee
Oh, that would work.
Josh Arnold
It doesn't take that long.
Bobby Jacox
No.
Jess Hooker
I think he just wants all of us to see what a weirdo he is. So he walks through the green.
Josh Arnold
So now we have to touch his
Bob Kevoian
poop door in our sink where our food is.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And recently, I don't know what's going on, but our men's room sink is clogged with something every. Every morning. I don't know. I'm not. I'm not blaming anyone at all. Some girl with a lot of hair. I don't know.
Jess Hooker
I don't. I don't go in that bathroom if I don't have to.
Jim Rome
You.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, but you.
Jess Hooker
Gross.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
You guys. Yes, it's gross.
Josh Arnold
No, they're equally gross.
Jess Hooker
Well, yeah, because you guys have invaded our space.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Jess Hooker
And I don't know who was here. I think yesterday somebody went all the way up the bowl, like two to the rim. I saw that all the way.
Josh Arnold
I saw it, too. It was to the rim.
Jess Hooker
It was to the rim.
Jim Rome
Really?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it was.
Bobby Jacox
So.
Josh Arnold
It must have been explosive. And I think we know who ate a burrito from a food truck.
Chick McGee
That's not.
Jim Rome
I was.
Chick McGee
That's not me.
Bob Kevoian
Did we get a picture?
Chick McGee
The only. The only activity. No, I. I was kind enough to go to the one in the way back, knowing that there might be.
Jess Hooker
No, I went in there. I saw it, and I said, I can wait till I get home. And I left.
Chick McGee
Let's move on.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Chick McGee
What other?
Josh Arnold
This guy told me.
Chick McGee
Accused.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, let's see. Never open door with bare hands. I tried every single toilet paper brand. He's landed on Cottonelle in the blue.
Jess Hooker
It is a good one.
Bob Kevoian
Package on that. I carry hand sanitizer wherever I go. Oh, Scott continues.
Chick McGee
You keep Keep that in the car door.
Bob Kevoian
I use hand sanitizer or go wash my hands right after handling and reading a menu at restaurants.
Chick McGee
Well, that's good.
Bob Kevoian
It horrifies me when I see someone wipe their nose if I know we are going to be ending the meeting conversation with a handshake.
Josh Arnold
Oh, sure. Yeah, that would bother me.
Chick McGee
What's your policy on blowing your nose into a cloth napkin at a restaurant?
Pat Godwin
Go to the bathroom.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
When it's somebody else, I'm against it.
Bob Kevoian
I believe it's me.
Josh Arnold
I'm all for it.
Bob Kevoian
I believe Miss manners tells you, don't. Don't ever blow your nose at a.
Jess Hooker
At a table.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, you go to the bathroom.
Pat Godwin
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I have grandchildren. I love them, but their noses and fingers caused me to panic whenever they get close. I want to make sure they've washed their hands first or I offer them hand sanitizer to have a rumpus with. Grandpa.
Tom Griswold
This is a little.
Josh Arnold
This guy's got a touch.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I have a system for my socks. I went through every brand of socks before finding the perfect pair. I purchased multiple packages. It didn't stop there. If I ran out of socks before the next laundry cycle, I would purchase another package of them. That sounds like me, actually. I now have an entire drawer full of the same socks. It's not a small drawer. He says you buy a lot of different.
Chick McGee
Name the brand.
Bob Kevoian
He doesn't name the brand. I don't like change. I like things that stay the way they are. The same routine, same shirt, same. Absolutely. And anything. If somebody's sick, they might as well have leprosy. I once quarantined my son that had the flu and made him promise he would not touch anything in the kitchen. And I have separate spoons and forks that I use apart from my family.
Chick McGee
Oh, that's nuts. That's.
Bob Kevoian
I have utensils that I use that aren't allowed to be used by anyone else in the family.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you, Scott, very much. Wow.
Chick McGee
Wow, that is really something.
Bob Kevoian
There you go.
Chick McGee
Now, hello to friend of the show, Jeff Bodart, currently on board a cruise ship in the port of Baltimore.
Bob Kevoian
His name is Bo.
Josh Arnold
How'd you find that out?
Chick McGee
He just sent us a letter to say hello.
Josh Arnold
He did? Well, that was nice of him.
Chick McGee
There you go.
Bob Kevoian
Are you gonna.
Josh Arnold
Jeff, enjoy the cruise?
Bob Kevoian
Are you gonna try to get people to go see a show on the boat?
Chick McGee
Well, I'm sure he's. He's working a comedy show on the boat. I don't know where. A boat out of Baltimore. Would go. You say Halifax?
Pat Godwin
Yeah. Nova Scotia prime.
Chick McGee
Yeah, that'd be beautiful.
Pat Godwin
To the left there.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Josh Arnold
I think a boat in Baltimore goes anywhere away from Baltimore.
Chick McGee
I thought you're gonna do a collapsing bridge joke, so I applaud you for
Josh Arnold
I, I just went with a general
Chick McGee
crime joke as opposed to a tragic running a boat. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Your baba top show. I don't remember it, but when I was very young, I apparently threw a big time metal tonka, a toy dump truck into my dad's groin. Cut his sack open.
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh.
Bob Kevoian
I still own that truck today.
Josh Arnold
Does his dad still own that sack?
Bob Kevoian
Well, it healed, I would guess.
Chick McGee
Cut it open.
Bob Kevoian
Cut it open.
Josh Arnold
I mean, I get how that could have those things.
Bob Kevoian
Those talk are massive and well made.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, very well made.
Chick McGee
That had to hurt. We were talking about testicular issues yesterday because the baseball player was a couple days ago.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
Had a direct hit in his sack and they had to do a testicular surgery.
Jess Hooker
That's rough.
Chick McGee
Now this is a. This letter is a true treasure. We've already pointed out some amazing stuff on the show this morning, but this is incredible. Dear Bob and Tom show, longtime listener never had a reason to write until now. In the June 21 edition of the South Bend Tribune, I saw this. There is a business in Mishawaka. It is called the talking horse ice cream stand.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
The ice cream stand is located in a duplex that Alan Rocky Lane grew up in. Anyone? Anyone?
Bob Kevoian
Rocky is the voice of Mr. Ed, right?
Chick McGee
That's right.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. We actually had some photos sent to us from this place.
Chick McGee
He starred in over 100 movies and TV shows, many Westerns. His most famous role as Chick points out, was the voice of Mr. Ed.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, I'm Mr. Ed.
Chick McGee
The Great Talking Horse. Yeah,'60s television.
Josh Arnold
Great Talking horse.
Chick McGee
On one side of this duplex is the ice cream stand and a western saloon themed meeting room. The other half has the Mr. Ed Airbnb.
Josh Arnold
Oh, you gotta go, man.
Bob Kevoian
Do you get to sleep in a stall and stuff?
Chick McGee
The suggestion is on his way to Michigan, Tom should stop in Mishawaka, take his girls and Willie for ice cream and a stay at the Mr. Ed Airbnb. My apologies to Tom's girls. Willie can just suffer through it. Thank you, Joe. Very thoughtful, very thoughtful. We certainly appreciate that. What's coming up in the world of sports?
Bob Kevoian
We've got WNBA action. We got another couple letters here from our listeners and brought to you by the sleep number bed sleepnumber.com and what's coming up in news.
Jess Hooker
We've Got another man stuck in a porta potty.
Chick McGee
Why is this happening? So?
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
This can't continue.
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
Like they say, if you drop something in there, that's sayonara.
Jess Hooker
Well, I can promise you what he went in there to retrieve was not worth it.
Chick McGee
Oh, boy.
Bob Kevoian
I've never even been close. No, you leave a porta pot. Boy, that was close. No, I go in, do my business and leave. I don't have a problem.
Chick McGee
I don't, you know, take my. Ladies, don't take your engagement ring and take it off. Hovering over the toilet seat, just asking for it. Okay, okay. Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi there.
Bob Kevoian
There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick McGee. And more letters.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I've got a pretty good one here.
Bob Kevoian
More emails from our list.
Chick McGee
First I wanted to do a real quick plug.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Chick McGee
For Jess Hooker. And do you want to tell me about the new video series?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Hooker the Cooker. I make a lot of recipes for the show. Some interesting, some wonderful, some horrible. And we're gonna do a how to series. So when I bring food in, there will be a how to video. The night before, like tonight, the new one drops. Last week I did the one with biscoff and cottage cheese. That video is already up so.
Josh Arnold
On YouTube. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So if you go to YouTube, search Bob and Tom, you can watch the show right now and you can watch my video.
Pat Godwin
All right.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Boom.
Chick McGee
Sounds like fun.
Jess Hooker
So we'll have something to taste tomorrow.
Chick McGee
And the one. The thing you made with the cottage cheese.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, quite good.
Pat Godwin
Good.
Chick McGee
Was really good.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And you said it was reasonably low in calories or lower high protein.
Jess Hooker
That's the big one.
Chick McGee
Okay. It tastes like cheesecake.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it is. It's a cheesecake dupe made with biscoff. Biscoff cookies and cottage cheese.
Chick McGee
And is that up there now?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it's up there now.
Chick McGee
That's delightful. A couple letters here. I'm in the construction business. What Tom called the human door.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
In the construction field we refer to as the man door.
Jess Hooker
Okay. So you're close.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I'm just saying.
Bob Kevoian
But there are also sexist.
Josh Arnold
But.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. There are also females on the job site.
Chick McGee
Yeah, no, I'm just this. I'm.
Bob Kevoian
I've done Tom.
Chick McGee
I called it a human. The door from my house to my garage for human beings. The human door.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
The garage door is the big one that you can drive a car into.
Bob Kevoian
So your garage. Your garage is connected to your house.
Chick McGee
House, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Nice. Well, some people don't have a connection to the house.
Chick McGee
No, I've had the other.
Bob Kevoian
Which do you prefer?
Pat Godwin
You had to suffer for a while.
Chick McGee
The convenience of being able to walk right in.
Jess Hooker
It is nice.
Chick McGee
I've also had you ever had this? Someone thinks this is really cool.
Josh Arnold
It's a split level.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
And you have to walk in and the kitchen's upstairs. Boy, that gets old fast.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. You know, when you have to.
Chick McGee
You gotta groceries upstairs.
Jess Hooker
Unless you have one of those dumb waiters. Those are cool.
Bob Kevoian
Get the groceries. Where are they?
Jess Hooker
Wait, let me say Lazy Susan next.
Pat Godwin
I don't feel like Working today.
Bob Kevoian
That's one of the first jokes my dad ever told. We were having Thanksgiving dinner and there was condiments and pickles and. And somebody. It said there on the Lazy Susan. My dad goes, I thought we fired her.
Josh Arnold
It's all good.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, nice.
Chick McGee
Not a lot of houses have dumb waiters.
Jess Hooker
No, no.
Josh Arnold
The Home Alone house had it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it did. Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
For those who don't know, it's the tiny elevator for things that are.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah. My brother had a house that had it.
Bob Kevoian
I almost bought a house because it had a dumb waiter.
Josh Arnold
It's also a fine Pinter Play.
Chick McGee
It's bad pack, of course, but. And it's. You can get in it if you're a kid.
Jess Hooker
That would be fun.
Bob Kevoian
The Cherry Orchard. Yeah.
Chick McGee
That's always what you want to do is get in the dumbwaiter and have your buddies.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Dying. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
That is cool.
Chick McGee
Now, let's move forward here. If you want to send us a letter now we've made it much easier, just go to bob and tom.com and we've got a little button you can click and get right to us. This is an important letter and we've had some. Really. Today has been a day of profound, important, almost revelatory letters. A capital I. Josh has also weighed in. He had a moving cup of coffee followed by a truly, I guess, a revelatory taste treat with your avocado.
Josh Arnold
The avocado was perfect.
Chick McGee
Yes. And now, is this going to be reflected in your attitude for the rest of the day? Are we gonna get a nice, cheerful Josh?
Josh Arnold
I don't know yet. Dumb.
Jim Rome
Dumb.
Chick McGee
Okay, well, I think this will cheer everyone.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Chick McGee
I know it's cheered me up. As you know, I'm. I do a lot of crossword puzzles. Kind of fun thing I do.
Josh Arnold
Keep that brain exercise, boy.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Chick McGee
And there are. We could go through. There's a list of words that always show up in crossword puzzles. Do you do them like.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, on occasion.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
That's. I usually grab a book when I go on vacation. Yeah.
Chick McGee
There'll be like a. If it's a fencing reference or. It's always going to be.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
You know what I've noticed?
Chick McGee
Snakes. Always asp. Asp. There's always aloe.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
For a L, O, U. Those are useful.
Jess Hooker
Right?
Bob Kevoian
Oreo has been.
Tom Griswold
Yep.
Chick McGee
Popping up often. Yeah. But this is a. So exciting for me.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
And I was not doing. I typically do the New York Times crossword puzzle. This guy does the LA Times crossword puzzle. This comes to us from Liberty Township, Ohio.
Bob Kevoian
I want to say West Salem. West Salem.
Josh Arnold
It's right next to Cincinnati. That's where the funny bonus.
Bob Kevoian
There you go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
Hey, Tom, writes Kevin. I was helping my dad do the LA Times crossword puzzle the other day. The clue came up. Marty Allen phrase.
Jess Hooker
That's awesome.
Chick McGee
Before he could get it out, I shouted out, hello, Dare. Hello, Dare.
Josh Arnold
Do you think they went D E R E or how do you. What do you think they did?
Chick McGee
I would assume they would do D E R E because it's.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know why it's not just
Chick McGee
D E R. Because it is there. Short for there T H E R E. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Chick McGee
Never thought I'll have to dig that up.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, we have to check that.
Chick McGee
And whenever I find references to someone I know or something in the crossword, I'll set. Like, for example, who was it? Oh, another crossword guy is one of our favorite comedians, Greg Warren. And Nate, his kind of boss now.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
From Nateland, Nate Bargets name came up
Josh Arnold
in a New York Times, like, comedian Bargazzi. And then it was. Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude, that's. Nate's probably gonna. That's gonna happen more and more.
Chick McGee
Yeah, that's. And that's. That sort of shows. You've made it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You've. You've reached a certain level of.
Jess Hooker
Very cool.
Chick McGee
It's always fun, though, because they'll. They'll have incredibly obscure for me rap singers in there.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Chick McGee
You know, and then I'll have to get the crosses to get it because I have no idea, you know, know little schmarfy, whatever his name is.
Josh Arnold
He is.
Chick McGee
Good, good.
Pat Godwin
Here's work.
Chick McGee
It's Lil L I L. Well, there's
Bob Kevoian
little Smarfy and Big Smartphy.
Chick McGee
Oh, there is.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Okay. Which I assume at least one of them's been shot to death.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, dear. Bob and Tom show.
Chick McGee
Am I wrong?
Bob Kevoian
This is Anthony. He lives in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I'm having a fried baloney sandwich this morning. Well, thank you, Anthony.
Josh Arnold
How about that?
Bob Kevoian
Way to go.
Chick McGee
Does he need any tips on how to fry quiet.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, you know what? He didn't say he needed the tip, but I think people listening and us here in the studio would.
Chick McGee
Would like. You mean we here?
Josh Arnold
Do you.
Chick McGee
You mean we here in the studio, not us here in the studio.
Josh Arnold
Doing you a favor.
Bob Kevoian
I'm trying to get you to this fried baloney. How dare you.
Chick McGee
I'll tell you what.
Bob Kevoian
Nothing but love for it.
Chick McGee
I've got another tip, though.
Al Jackson
Oh.
Chick McGee
Now if you're frying baloney. Of course. Bonus tip. If it's a. If it's a round disc like baloney.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
It's going to dome up.
Josh Arnold
It often is.
Pat Godwin
Yeah. Ye.
Chick McGee
It's going to dome up. So what you do is you at. At 12 o', clock, 3 o', clock, 6 o' clock and. And 9 o', clock, you score the baloney. You ever score any baloney?
Pat Godwin
Did nothing for me.
Chick McGee
So the other. The other day we were doing one of our homemade pizzas.
Bob Kevoian
You never scored any pigs, Any pork. Oh.
Chick McGee
And it was. And it was. For some reason. It was. It was not. We have the pizza cutter gizmo with the. Sure dial disc on it.
Tom Griswold
Whatever.
Jess Hooker
Right, right.
Chick McGee
And it just wasn't working. Wasn't cutting through for whatever reason. And I said wait a second. And I got on a pair of scissors, my kitchen scissors and so much easier.
Jess Hooker
So much easier.
Chick McGee
So much better.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And they do make of course, pizza scissors.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
That have the built in slice there. And I believe.
Bob Kevoian
I don't.
Chick McGee
They have got all you guys a set of those.
Bob Kevoian
For lack of a. I'm trying to explain it. It's a little weight that you could put on the slice of bologna and it holds it down and fries it flat.
Josh Arnold
Almost like if you're making smash burgers.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Instead of cutting the corners like ding dong does. Maybe it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, but that creates moisture and you don't get the crisp. Oh, it doesn't brown.
Chick McGee
Plus you're dirtying another tool. Oh man.
Bob Kevoian
I do love the crispy bacon Dirty baloney.
Chick McGee
Ever have a dirty tool?
Pat Godwin
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Well, you got to wipe it off
Jess Hooker
after the scored bologna.
Josh Arnold
Here's a baloney question for the room. When you guys remove the peel the wrap, whatever that the rhine cat stomach is what the rumor was when I was.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, right.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Do you take that and sort of semi floss with it to get the bits of baloney that are stuck to it?
Bob Kevoian
No, I've never done that. But I'm going to start.
Josh Arnold
It's a very fat thing to do.
Chick McGee
That is desperate.
Jess Hooker
I don't think I've ever bought bologna
Bob Kevoian
with the rind on them.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, like in the packaging. Like.
Josh Arnold
Oh, so you're getting good bologna.
Jess Hooker
Pre sliced bologna.
Pat Godwin
Does bologna fry on its own or you have to use butter or something? I don't know.
Jess Hooker
I've never. I don't like hot baloney. That sounds horrible to me.
Chick McGee
Patch of raffy.
Pat Godwin
Why are you teasing me like this?
Bob Kevoian
Of all the people you can't take It.
Chick McGee
You can't go back to the blood bank, so. Well, I guess it's bus station fried bologna tonight. Make a few bucks.
Pat Godwin
I had a cheap hot dog yesterday.
Jess Hooker
How do you dress your bologna sandwich? So you fry it and then what you do?
Josh Arnold
It depends on the time of year.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, but after you. So you fry the bologna and then what do you do?
Pat Godwin
I.
Chick McGee
Nothing. I just.
Bob Kevoian
Just.
Jess Hooker
You just like a plain bologna?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Like your hot dog.
Chick McGee
Do you put lettuce or something?
Tom Griswold
Oh, no.
Jess Hooker
Mustard, mayo. Yeah. And cheese. American cheese. Yeah, that's. Yeah. White bread.
Josh Arnold
I only get fried bologna now if it's at a restaurant that's kind of. There are places that. Hey, it's one of our specials.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah. That's cool.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. And it is about a half inch thick.
Jess Hooker
Maybe I should try it. I haven't done fried bologna ever.
Josh Arnold
Have you fried up Spam?
Jess Hooker
No, I've never had Spam.
Josh Arnold
That's what I recommend. That more than the bologna.
Chick McGee
But Josh is right.
Josh Arnold
It's not for everybody. It's.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I like a Spam every now and then.
Chick McGee
Really?
Jess Hooker
What is is Spam?
Bob Kevoian
Pork shoulder and ham.
Jess Hooker
Oh, it is.
Bob Kevoian
It's pork.
Jess Hooker
Okay. And don't they come flavored? There's like, jalapeno.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they've gone kind of the Oreo route.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Josh Arnold
You can get Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Spam.
Pat Godwin
Okay.
Chick McGee
This is a weird letter. I had to double check the date on this. Then I realized what was happening. Oh, dear. Bob and Tom show. I hate to admit it, but Tom is correct. My wife and I were recently in Steamboat and Vale in Colorado. There was no snow anywhere. Signed Cliff. You'll recall I was there this winter and the skiing was pretty bad. He goes, by the way, I was listening to a podcast version of the show. I may have been a few days behind. I believe it was several months old. I'll hang up for your response.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Thank you very much letting us know the snow report right in the week of.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Josh Arnold
July.
Chick McGee
Yeah. When I was there, the skiing was less than. Less than stellar, I imagine right now.
Josh Arnold
I like to think that he'd look around and looked at his wife and goes, boy, Tom was right.
Chick McGee
You can listen to old shows. How do you.
Josh Arnold
How do you do that?
Jess Hooker
Now?
Chick McGee
You want to explain that to me, Jake McGee?
Bob Kevoian
Go to bob and top.com and look them up. You can also download the podcast where you get your podcast and have it listen to it when you. You don't have to be a slave to us. You can listen whenever you'd like.
Jess Hooker
And you could get your VIP membership
Bob Kevoian
and get that vi.
Chick McGee
And you could see a picture of me. They're gonna post that. My niece sent me a picture of me when I was 20 years old.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
There it is.
Jess Hooker
Oh my gosh.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Pat Godwin
Look at you.
Bob Kevoian
Oh my. You look like you just walked off the set of with Jules Holland.
Jess Hooker
Is your hair curly?
Pat Godwin
Oh, I see.
Josh Arnold
Kind of why you're.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
There's a chance. If you had not told us who this was, it would have taken us a second.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
100.
Bob Kevoian
It's like some guitar player from Right Floyd.
Josh Arnold
Exactly.
Pat Godwin
Like Dave Grohl or something. Young.
Chick McGee
Yeah, that's.
Josh Arnold
I would have.
Chick McGee
20 year old me. And what's really unusual, I am wearing a sweater.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Chick McGee
And that may be the last time I ever wore one.
Josh Arnold
And an undershirt.
Bob Kevoian
A. A crew. Next. What are you talk. What are you thinking there?
Chick McGee
I haven't worn a sweater in years.
Josh Arnold
There's a. There's a little George Harrison in there.
Pat Godwin
Absolutely.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah. You could see that in the eyes for sure. In the eyebrows. Yeah.
Chick McGee
You can see that on our website eventually.
Bob Kevoian
I'd like to officially, humbly apologize to you. I've teased you over the years about being preoccupied with someone's hair. I had no idea that you. That.
Josh Arnold
It's all the more tragic now, isn't it?
Chick McGee
I would like a sympathy card. Sorry for your loss.
Bob Kevoian
Magnificent hair.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Past his shoulders.
Bob Kevoian
I had no idea this is what you're dealing with. I apologize.
Chick McGee
Don't hassle me, man. Yeah, yeah.
Pat Godwin
That had to be really a big, big tragedy for you.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Must still sting, but.
Chick McGee
Yeah, there you go. Anyways, that was I saying. Oh yeah. You go to our website now. We've also got a direct link to us. Send us your email so it makes a little bit easier. We're getting all these really great letters. We certainly appreciate it.
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob, a top show chick. Hey, that's me. Was talking about using a cigar cutter to perform a brisk couple few days ago. I have been an OB nurse for 29 years and have assisted with many circumcisions. There is one type of cirque that uses an instrument called a Mogan M O G A N that we nurses always joked about calling it a cigar cutter. Not many providers do this type of cirque anymore. So you brought back some fond memories. Tee he. Long time listener, first time writer. I love it when you play the oldies. I miss Bob's laugh. Thanks for all the years of fun, Doreen. Well, thank you, Dori.
Chick McGee
I love that Name.
Jess Hooker
Yes, that's a good name.
Chick McGee
That's about time for a Doreen comeback.
Bob Kevoian
Very nice.
Jess Hooker
I heard a song on the way in this morning that. It's called Gary. It's a country song. Current country radio, huh? Pop country radio. I'll say.
Josh Arnold
I know this song.
Pat Godwin
Song.
Jess Hooker
And it's called.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So it's called Gary and essentially it is. There are no more Gary's anymore. And then it also references their. No more Debbies.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yes. But it's like. Like a kid named Gary born with a cigarette glued to his face. Might be one of the.
Chick McGee
That's funny.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it's a good song.
Jess Hooker
It is a good song.
Chick McGee
And of course there's Gary, Indiana. Gary, Indiana. Gary, Indiana. Paris. You know. Are you familiar with that song?
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
Oh, dear God. You've never seen the Music Man?
Jess Hooker
No. And. And I've. I've seen a lot of musicals, but I have not. I have.
Chick McGee
It's terrific. It's wonderful. And you know who was in it on Broadway?
Jess Hooker
I don't.
Chick McGee
Best friend of the show, Hugh Jackman.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
I went to New York just to see Mr. Jackman in that place.
Jess Hooker
That's. Yep. And I think that's where that story ends, right?
Bob Kevoian
Yes, you can tell us.
Josh Arnold
Stephen Wilson Jr. Does the song Gary, and he's one of. He's one of my top artists right now.
Jess Hooker
His voice is great.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I'll have to hear it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Looking forward to it. Well, thank you very much, Jess. Once again, check out Bob and Tom dot com. We'll post 20 year old me up there. And if you please send us your sympathy letters for my hair.
Bob Kevoian
Magnificent.
Chick McGee
I think I can end this segment with this letter. All right, this has come to us from. Sorry, where is it on here? Oh, Lucas, Lucas. Lucas. Kind enough to write. That's a great name too.
Bob Kevoian
Lucas McCain.
Chick McGee
Yeah, you hear Luke a lot. I like Lucas. Bob was right years ago and he said Tom's nickname should be King Peckerhead.
Al Jackson
Thank you.
Chick McGee
Well, I certainly appreciate the love.
Bob Kevoian
You know, you'd think I'd remember something like that, but I don't.
Chick McGee
Then he goes, and by the way, would you please, please start referring. Sorry. Would you please start referring to Chick Miggy again as Chick McGee, the sports doctor? Ah, yeah, that kind of got. Kind of got dropped.
Bob Kevoian
That had its.
Chick McGee
Had its era.
Bob Kevoian
And then the, the way avocado toasted.
Chick McGee
We're trying to bring back avocado toast and we can bring back the sports stuff.
Pat Godwin
What was it?
Bob Kevoian
The Tyrannosaurus rex of sportosaurus yeah.
Josh Arnold
Sportsasaurus rex, this guy said.
Chick McGee
Also, by the way, this has been bugging me, the term master bedroom. You're not supposed to use that anymore.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it's primary.
Chick McGee
Yep. He said. Actually, the origin of that is rather interesting. It goes back to the Sears catalog. The term didn't exist until the 1920s when Sears coined the term the master bedroom in their mail order catalog.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. It doesn't have the negative connotation that people are attributing to it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
I never thought.
Jess Hooker
They gotta find something.
Chick McGee
Yeah. He goes. Nobody ever associated the these things until 2020, when exactly professionals who take exception to everything, especially things they know nothing about, got upset.
Josh Arnold
I was thinking about that last night when I was primary baiting.
Al Jackson
And
Bob Kevoian
you.
Jim Rome
You.
Bob Kevoian
And you took some time to reflect.
Josh Arnold
Yes. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Okay, thanks.
Chick McGee
Thanks very much, Lucas and I. I'm very proud to be king Lucas. King peckerhead. Right now. We're coming back. We'll come back with some sporting news.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Chick McGee
I'll remind you again. Check out Jess Hooker's videos. How do they do that again, Jeff?
Jess Hooker
You search Bob and Tom on YouTube.
Bob Kevoian
There it is.
Chick McGee
Yeah, right there. I'm sorry, what is the name of the cheesecake, like stuff you made with. With the cottage cheese?
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Chick McGee
You know what that's called?
Jess Hooker
I don't have a name for it.
Josh Arnold
Oh, we got it.
Jess Hooker
Let's call it Biscoff Cottage cheese. Oh, it's Japanese cheesecake.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
And I don't know why they call it Japanese cheesecake. Let's not assume anything.
Chick McGee
And it was great. Yeah, it was really great.
Jess Hooker
It was good. Yeah.
Chick McGee
If you get a chance to watch that and check it out, I. I highly recommend it.
Jim Rome
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Call it Japanese cheesecake because it's the bomb.
Jess Hooker
That's good.
Chick McGee
See, we were. She specifically.
Jess Hooker
What the safest thing.
Chick McGee
You specifically outlined what we're not supposed to do.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Chick McGee
And I think you just violated that by doing that chick. McGee happens to be an expert. Pretty much an expert on that exact.
Bob Kevoian
July 16, 1945. The sun rose twice that day. My friends.
Josh Arnold
That Japanese cheesecake. So good it'll leave your shadow on the wall.
Chick McGee
See, that's awful.
Bob Kevoian
And it would. The. The prints of a shirt they were
Josh Arnold
wearing me sipping my coffee after saying it helped.
Jess Hooker
I love it.
Pat Godwin
Yes, Yes. I think so.
Chick McGee
Yes. I've made it that much more evil.
Bob Kevoian
That's the. That's the. You can almost hear your. You saying. How about that?
Josh Arnold
Right? Right. Take that.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
As.
Chick McGee
As that. If that would somehow Forgive you for the awfulness of that.
Josh Arnold
And it won't.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Chick McGee
He'll be spending an extra couple days in purgatory for that one. We're gonna return, I Hope, to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jim Rome
Just gotta get a hold of us. Call, text or email. Get all the contact information you need@bobandtom.com. this is the Bob and Tom show
Chick McGee
tonight.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
There's the one, the only Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Pat. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Bob Kevoian
There's Ace Cosby.
Jess Hooker
Howdy.
Bob Kevoian
I'm Chick McGee. And hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
Possible correction.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Chick McGee
We were talking about making a fried bologna sandwich, Right. On occasion, there is you. I eat like a plain.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
On occasion. If you throw a piece of cheese on it on the frying pan, like you're making a cheeseburger.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Chick McGee
And then that. That's doable. In fact, sometimes I'll. Then I'll throw that on the bread, then put the bread in the frying pan and flip it. So it's like a toasted grilled cheese.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Did you say toasted cheese or grilled cheese?
Jess Hooker
I say grilled cheese.
Josh Arnold
We grew up toasted.
Chick McGee
I grew up toasted.
Jess Hooker
No kidding.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Then I spent many of my years in my 30s and 40s toast posted. But that's it.
Jess Hooker
I have a question. When you make grilled cheese, do you put the butter in the hot pan and then the bread, or do you bread the butter or butter the bread and put it in the hot pan?
Josh Arnold
I do the opposite of Tom. I. I butter the bread.
Jess Hooker
You butter the bread?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
You know what I do?
Jess Hooker
You put hot. So you put butter in directly in the pan, and then I.
Chick McGee
Then I swirl the bread around.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Gotcha.
Jess Hooker
What do you do, Pat?
Pat Godwin
I go to Panera.
Chick McGee
You go to Panera Delicious? You know, they do have an extra.
Pat Godwin
They do.
Josh Arnold
It is good.
Chick McGee
And they're a Mac and cheese. Very good.
Bob Kevoian
I found. I. I find it intriguing. I. I don't know if it improved the grilled cheese or not, but you put mayonnaise on it instead of butter.
Jess Hooker
You don't use butter at all.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Jess Hooker
That's another hack.
Bob Kevoian
That's very good.
Jess Hooker
Very good.
Bob Kevoian
It's wonderful.
Chick McGee
You know, today's show, I hope someone's writing all this down. These are revelation after revelation after revelation.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
This is all good to know. And coming up Next month, we're going to be trying the ice cream dipped in butterfly.
Bob Kevoian
Oh.
Jess Hooker
At the state fair. And you.
Bob Kevoian
You contend you've got this down and there's a trick to it.
Jess Hooker
I haven't tried it.
Chick McGee
I want.
Jess Hooker
But I have an idea of how it's.
Chick McGee
I want. I want to. I want to take a camera crew.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
We're gonna go over there and we're gonna get this on video.
Jess Hooker
Let's do it.
Bob Kevoian
The video I've seen is they take a regular soft serve vanilla ice cream cone and dunk it into a vat of butter and pull it right.
Josh Arnold
Almost drawn butter.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And pull it out and it hardens up. And there it is.
Chick McGee
Is it hardens up immediately?
Josh Arnold
It just doesn't sound that good to me. I'm not saying it won't be. I'm just saying it doesn't seem that good to me.
Jess Hooker
So it hardens up because of the ice cream's cold. So it's going to harden. Just.
Josh Arnold
It's going to congeal again immediately. I just don't like.
Bob Kevoian
That's what speeds it up.
Jess Hooker
I don't think it sounds.
Chick McGee
I know it's been a day that I. If I had. Do you have any nitro pills just in case? Because I think what Josh is going to say is going to make me. Dude, what were you gonna say?
Bob Kevoian
Dude, Wait a minute. You don't like.
Pat Godwin
What are you gonna say?
Bob Kevoian
Listen to this.
Josh Arnold
Oh, he does that.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Chick McGee
Okay, good. Okay.
Josh Arnold
I just don't like butter that much. You don't like to have it? I'm coming to have my ice cream dipped in it.
Chick McGee
You don't like butter?
Josh Arnold
I didn't say I don't like butter.
Tom Griswold
I say.
Bob Kevoian
I file this. I don't worry about the ingredients. I say this falls under the same high headline as add Oreo cookies to your Oreo cookie ice cream.
Jess Hooker
I'm with you there.
Bob Kevoian
The same thing I say, the more.
Jess Hooker
More.
Bob Kevoian
More of what you're eating, the better.
Josh Arnold
So are you excited about trying this?
Bob Kevoian
I am.
Josh Arnold
I'm just fine with trying.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, that's how I feel.
Chick McGee
Will it have a crunch the way. No, because like the Dairy Queen. The Dairy Queen chocolate. The vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. Yeah, it's got that great crunch.
Jess Hooker
It is a good crunch, but the butter's not gonna do that.
Al Jackson
Have you.
Jess Hooker
So the butter has bit a piece of butter.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I don't like that at all.
Jess Hooker
Oh, you don't like that feeling?
Josh Arnold
I don't like the. I don't like the taste of just Butter on its own.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I do.
Bob Kevoian
Real butter?
Chick McGee
We're gonna find out.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
No, no point speculating.
Jess Hooker
No. Also I ordered python yesterday.
Bob Kevoian
No way.
Jess Hooker
It's supposed to arrive sometime.
Josh Arnold
No, I will butter my python. Did you guys butter your python ground or.
Chick McGee
I'm.
Jess Hooker
No, it's. It's the meat.
Josh Arnold
They live in the ground.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no, it's not.
Chick McGee
I may have trouble eating it.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, I don't think I could do it.
Josh Arnold
I'm in. I'm in.
Jess Hooker
In. In the description, it said this tastes like python, not chicken, not fish. Python.
Josh Arnold
I want to also. Will you please prepare it in a way that I want to know. It's python.
Jess Hooker
Exactly. That's what I said. I don't want to over season it.
Chick McGee
Is it in strips?
Jess Hooker
I don't know how it's going to come, but yeah, I think it is. It's like as filleted as it can be.
Chick McGee
And this is because this is the week of the python hunt in Florida and we talked to Mr. Crumb. Was it?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah.
Pat Godwin
Do they make a cherry python?
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
I would eat that cherry python.
Pat Godwin
That's what I said.
Chick McGee
Put your sling back on. It's apparently affecting your.
Bob Kevoian
I noticed that. I think that's where the problem started.
Josh Arnold
No, I like that he stood by it. That's what I said.
Jess Hooker
That's what I said.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Take it or leave it.
Chick McGee
Very good. I know something.
Bob Kevoian
Read it, read it.
Pat Godwin
It was not a home run.
Jim Rome
No, but.
Chick McGee
But I. I love the way you, as they say, owned it. Very good. We're gonna check in. We've got a comedian. Bobby Jacox is going to join us in a second. Also comedian Al Jackson and Godwin is
Josh Arnold
currently doing one of our all time favorite things. I don't know if he's aware of it. It is now look at Pat. Are you guys aware of what he's doing? One of our all time.
Chick McGee
You have your glasses on your forehead and you're wearing a pair of glasses.
Jess Hooker
It's adorable.
Pat Godwin
Such an idiot.
Josh Arnold
We love it. I shouldn't have pointed it out.
Bob Kevoian
Don't. Don't beat yourself up. You're an idiot for a lot of other reasons.
Pat Godwin
I know, Chick, but jeez, the glasses
Chick McGee
every three weeks now. Chick McGee.
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom show. I work as a custodian at the local high school. Let's see where I. I can't nail down where he's email.
Josh Arnold
Well, you're an unsung hero, sir.
Bob Kevoian
That's exactly right.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
I noticed a vehicle in receiving one afternoon doing my Rounds at the school. And then I got very excited. Yes. It was an Otis technician from Otis Elevator. Nice there to take a look at one of our vaders. All I could hear in my head was Tom saying, if it's not an Otis, I take the stairs.
Chick McGee
Even brand loyal.
Jess Hooker
Come on.
Bob Kevoian
Even school districts who hire, they know who to hire for their elevators. Have a great day. Oh, here it is. Nina, Wisconsin. There you go. So thank you. Gin. J Y m. Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, home of the Nina Foundry.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Chick McGee
Where they make the.
Bob Kevoian
The world famous Nina found right next
Josh Arnold
door to Santa Barina.
Chick McGee
You Wisconsin. It's ne n a right.
Bob Kevoian
Where's the. Where's Pinto, Wisconsin? Is that anywhere?
Josh Arnold
Just to the north.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Let's move forward here. It's now time for sports.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. Well, we've been doing sports all morning. So we get to this actor, Glenn Powell, who.
Josh Arnold
He's charming, isn't he?
Bob Kevoian
He's. He's the it man right now. Right. He's the world's sexiest man.
Jess Hooker
Has what?
Bob Kevoian
That's only do love him.
Chick McGee
Yeah, he's great.
Bob Kevoian
Only a matter of time.
Chick McGee
He was in. Did you see Twister?
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
He was in that. He was. Last year he was in that TV movie with the hitman thing.
Jess Hooker
Is he a superhero?
Al Jackson
No.
Pat Godwin
Oh, I know.
Bob Kevoian
Not yet.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah. Okay. I think I know who he is.
Chick McGee
A good looking guy. Charming. Seems like a good guy.
Bob Kevoian
Did I just say not flicking the
Josh Arnold
bean to him these days.
Jess Hooker
Is that right? Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Anyway, Glenn Powell is set to star in a Lou Gehrig biopic directed by Richard Lincoln.
Bobby Jacox
Later.
Bob Kevoian
Who I still have a bone to pick. According to Deadline, lifelong Yankee fan Lorne Michaels will produce the movie.
Pat Godwin
Yes.
Josh Arnold
We'll get Glenn Powell.
Bob Kevoian
Glenn Powell I love.
Chick McGee
Are you familiar with the movie Pride of the Yankees?
Jess Hooker
I mean, I know what it's about.
Chick McGee
What's it about?
Jess Hooker
It's about the guy that gets Lou Gehrig's disease.
Josh Arnold
Do you happen to know his name?
Chick McGee
Well, it wasn't.
Josh Arnold
You can say Gary Cooper, but it won't count.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I know.
Bob Kevoian
They named the disease after him.
Pat Godwin
This is.
Chick McGee
There's a really touching scene where he said they tell him that they're going to name the disease after me. He goes, I just wanted to have a shoe named after me.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, we just go with the shoe, please.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I got like.
Chick McGee
And Michael Jordan. There's no Michael Jordan's disease. Give me a break.
Bob Kevoian
For his retirement. That came far too soon. Obviously. He tells the crowd at Yankee Stadium. People say, I've Got a bad break.
Josh Arnold
Real famous speech. Echoey.
Chick McGee
You know, the second half of that.
Al Jackson
That.
Chick McGee
No, today. Today I consider myself so the luckiest man.
Bob Kevoian
Man on the face of the face of the earth. That's right.
Josh Arnold
It's a good movie.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Okay.
Chick McGee
And Babe Ruth's in it. Portraying Babe Ruth.
Bob Kevoian
And he does a great job.
Jess Hooker
Oh, wow.
Bob Kevoian
Remember. And they eat. They make the. The players pull a prank on Babe and eat his hat. Take bites out of his straw hat and Babe hits the ceiling. It's not known what will be covered in the new film. Sources say Babe Dahlgren, the man tasked with replacing. I will break you, Lou Gehrig at first base, is expected to be an important character in the new movie. Okay.
Chick McGee
Pretty risky making a baseball.
Bob Kevoian
So it was Willie Pep, Lou Gehrig and this guy.
Chick McGee
Don't you think? Pretty risky making a baseball movie?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, absolutely. You guys think why I think it's risky to make any kind of movie.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Well, that's fair enough.
Chick McGee
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I'm not sure. The. That's. That's sort of a story of a. Like three generations ago.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Jess Hooker
So.
Chick McGee
And I don't know. It'll be interesting to see.
Jess Hooker
Well, they're still making war movies.
Pat Godwin
Sure.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, have you want get a chance to. Don't cheat yourself. Carve out some time for Tom Hanks's World War II. I know what you're saying. I've seen everything about World War II.
Josh Arnold
I can't watch. I haven't seen the first one.
Chick McGee
I'd be lost.
Bob Kevoian
Really cut that out. It's really, really wonderful. Wonderful. It's wonderful.
Jess Hooker
I've heard that.
Chick McGee
Okay, so it's on Apple tv. I think that'll be interesting. But that guy Glenn Powell is really charming and good. Should be good.
Bob Kevoian
And you know, men want to hang out with him and women want to bang him. That's subtle.
Josh Arnold
Probably want to bang him. Other women just want to hang out with him. It's a fascinating. It's a new world audience.
Bob Kevoian
He has Love Is Love coming up.
Josh Arnold
I wouldn't say that.
Bob Kevoian
Coming up in sports, we'll have Jess Hooker in the news.
Josh Arnold
No.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
Got a world record.
Bob Kevoian
That's right. We have a world record.
Josh Arnold
Is that Bobby Jacox punk arrived yet?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah, I let him in.
Josh Arnold
I know that guy.
Jess Hooker
That was a mistake.
Al Jackson
Do you?
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, maybe he has a bone to pick with you.
Josh Arnold
You know what?
Bob Kevoian
He might get your bone out. He wants to pick it.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Chick McGee
And by the way, it's. His last name is Jaycox Yeah. It's not Bobby J. Cox.
Bob Kevoian
I thought.
Josh Arnold
No, no.
Bob Kevoian
I thought it was B O, B, B, B, Y. J, A Y, C O, X.
Chick McGee
No, no.
Josh Arnold
And it is a stage name.
Jess Hooker
Oh, it is, yes.
Josh Arnold
His real name is Robert Hand Penis.
Pat Godwin
Had to change it, right?
Josh Arnold
He did have to change it.
Bob Kevoian
His last name is Hand Penis.
Josh Arnold
That's right. He'll verify that when he comes in.
Bob Kevoian
What is that? Look at Tom. Is that Dutch? What?
Al Jackson
What is.
Josh Arnold
I think it is Dutch.
Bob Kevoian
You know, my mom and dad.
Josh Arnold
Dutch would be Van Penis, wouldn't it?
Bob Kevoian
The worst heritage for raising children. Dutch, German. Get out of there.
Josh Arnold
That's what.
Chick McGee
You know, if I can make it, we'll try to come back. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jim Rome
Thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Even though we're not too much to look at. You can also watch the show on our YouTube channel.
Chick McGee

Jess Hooker
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Enjoying an avocado?
Jess Hooker
No.
Bob Kevoian
What do you got going there?
Jess Hooker
Cottage cheese, nice fresh tomato.
Al Jackson
Oh.
Jess Hooker
Couple boiled eggs and some basil. I pulled off the plant as I was leaving the house this morning.
Josh Arnold
Wow, that is fresh.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
Hi, Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hey, Trickster.
Bob Kevoian
There's Ace Cosby. Hello. I'm Chick and Tom. We have a special guest.
Chick McGee
We'll meet comedian Bobby Jacox in a matter of seconds. Pat, as you were pulling away this morning, did you pull something off the side of the road to have for breakfast? A little bit. A little bit of possum, I believe.
Bob Kevoian
Miss, I have a beautiful herb garden. A herb garden?
Pat Godwin
Yeah, that's a herb, all right.
Chick McGee
Herb garden.
Jess Hooker
Some tomatoes. I have some peppers also. So, yeah, you guys need anything, let me know.
Pat Godwin
So you could have had an avocado in that, but Josh took the last one.
Jess Hooker
Josh has shared his avocado with me
Josh Arnold
often, so that's a euphemism.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, Tom, did you hear? Josh took the last avocado. Avocado. Oh,
Pat Godwin
just took the last avocado.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Just took the last avocado.
Josh Arnold
That's right.
Pat Godwin
Talk about bravado. Just took the last stop.
Josh Arnold
Avocado.
Pat Godwin
What are the quarts? He wants to make guacamole to shove in his pale. He took the last of the ravioli.
Josh Arnold
Nobody knew about that.
Pat Godwin
And the Mexican coco. Cause he does whatever he pleases. Thinks avocados grows on trees. I'm gonna tell Jesus. Josh took the last avocado. Make him stop.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much.
Chick McGee
Comedian Bobby Jacox has joined us in the studio. Bobby, nice to meet you.
Bobby Jacox
Very nice to be here. And Josh was right. It's actually hand penis.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. I said you're. You're. Jaycox is a stage name.
Chick McGee
I see, I see, I see. Good to know. Now, we're gonna find out a lot about you in a matter of moments, but first, we have to wrap up this sportscast. You said you had a world record of some sort.
Bob Kevoian
The world's longest foosball table is today's stupid world record.
Josh Arnold
You've been playing the foosball behind my back.
Bob Kevoian
There's foosball tables for you.
Tom Griswold
Oh,
Jess Hooker
yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The alcoholic beverage known as Terra Mana Tequila achieved the Guinness World Record title with a foosball table measuring 525ft long.
Jess Hooker
That's the Rock. The Rock is.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, that's that guy. That's his tequila.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, is it?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, he started that brand.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. It's about the length of 112 regular foosball tables put. Put together.
Al Jackson
Whoa.
Bob Kevoian
Fans from 48 different countries gathered at the Brooklyn Navy Yard to play a game on what organizers called the World's Table. Yep. And it says right here. And I gotten down farther and read it beforehand.
Jess Hooker
Oh, sorry.
Bob Kevoian
Teramana Tequila is spirit founded in 2020 by the Rock. And you smell the tequila.
Jess Hooker
I love a good tequila.
Chick McGee
It's cooking, as you can see.
Jess Hooker
It's fine.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay. So, I mean, hundreds of people can play it at once.
Chick McGee
Yeah, but I mean, you.
Bob Kevoian
You don't know what's going on. Yeah. The guy at the head of the table and the guy at the end
Chick McGee
of it is that one ball.
Josh Arnold
I hope it's one ball.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I'm just waiting for the ball to get down here to me. No problem.
Chick McGee
Hate foosball.
Josh Arnold
Oh, you do. You must be bad at it.
Chick McGee
I just hate it because you're bad at it. I. I never play it.
Bob Kevoian
Do you have a foosball table you'd like to get off your hands? I'll come pick.
Chick McGee
No, no. I can't stand it.
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Chick McGee
Stupid.
Jess Hooker
What kind of table games do you enjoy?
Pat Godwin
He.
Bob Kevoian
He. I know you can't play poker or cards. You don't play uno.
Jess Hooker
Okay, I don't mean poker.
Josh Arnold
Supposedly, hockey is my favorite.
Jess Hooker
Jess, what is that?
Al Jackson
That.
Josh Arnold
Oh, it's like the, the dome over the hockey guys and. Yeah. I just love that. And I don't know though, Air hockey is so good.
Jess Hooker
And what about the table shuffle board
Chick McGee
I love with the, with the sand on it?
Bob Kevoian
What they call it? It's shuffle puck.
Jess Hooker
Oh, Jesus. Okay.
Pat Godwin
Sorry.
Jess Hooker
I didn't know you invented it.
Chick McGee
Shuffle puck is fun. I love air hockey.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, air hockey is fun.
Chick McGee
Foosball. I, I, I will admit I dislike it for the wrong reason. Reason.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Why?
Chick McGee
Because all the guys that played it when it was coming out, they were such a holes.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I got you.
Jim Rome
Okay.
Josh Arnold
They ruined it for you.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
It was no fun.
Jess Hooker
What about table tennis? Enjoy that. Okay.
Chick McGee
Not very good at it. And then supposedly I'm about to be taught. Oh, I have been informed that I am about to have to learn a card game called euchre.
Jess Hooker
You are not a euchre player.
Chick McGee
I've never. I'm terrible at cards.
Jess Hooker
Anyway, who does play euchre here? And I know it's regional. Yeah, okay. No big euchre player.
Bobby Jacox
I barely know her very much.
Josh Arnold
That's Bobby Jcox.
Tom Griswold
So.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
You're married to a hooer now, so you have to learn to play.
Bob Kevoian
Why was it her idea for you to learn how to play euchre? I think, I think that's nice. Yeah.
Pat Godwin
I can say no.
Chick McGee
She wants one more thing she can be better at than I am.
Jess Hooker
No, if you're from this area, you have to be able to play euchre. It is a holiday game. Oh, you're. You've been exposed once. Yeah. To the cards and Thanksgiving.
Pat Godwin
Never do it again.
Chick McGee
Well, that's because. Because it was a rough Thanksgiving. But yeah.
Josh Arnold
So we'll find out your father.
Jess Hooker
I can't wait. Can we? Another place that we're going to need a film crew. You learning how to play Euchre. Oh, man, that's gonna be something.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. When the, when the jack switch suits. Oh my gosh.
Josh Arnold
He's already.
Chick McGee
I can't focus. You know that.
Bob Kevoian
I, I know it 8 playing car.
Jess Hooker
But when you learn and it's so.
Chick McGee
Okay, well, we'll see. We'll see. Now that would conclude our sports broadcast.
Bob Kevoian
Certainly.
Chick McGee
Let's meet our guest comedian, Bobby Jacox. I'll tell you what, Bobby. You could very easily segue into playing Jesus.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Jesus Christ superstar. You got long, long hair.
Bobby Jacox
Jesus with a lisp.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah. You got the full beard going.
Jess Hooker
A cute kid rock, I would say.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, I appreciate there too.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I've Also, yes.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's very Joe Dirt.
Bobby Jacox
I've gotten Kid Rock. Yeah, I've gotten a lot of those. Good guys.
Chick McGee
Yeah, those are both pretty fun.
Bobby Jacox
I've gotten lady a lot when I'm
Chick McGee
walking away from people. Sure, sure.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Bobby Jacox
The other day, we were leaving, and the lady had waited on us the entire time. And then whenever I was leaving, she goes, you guys have a great day. Take care, ma'.
Al Jackson
Am.
Bobby Jacox
Take care, ma'. Am. And I was like, did she just call me ma' am again? And then she goes, I'm so sorry. But I was like, yeah. From behind, I look like a lady.
Bob Kevoian
From the front.
Chick McGee
From the front, you'd be the bearded lady.
Bobby Jacox
That is.
Jess Hooker
Maybe it's the silky scrunchie you have around your wrist.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe it's that one.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Why do you have that?
Chick McGee
Yeah, that's because I have to put
Bobby Jacox
my hair up sometimes.
Josh Arnold
Sometimes.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bobby Jacox
It's just long.
Bob Kevoian
I thought Jess was making a joke. He does have a scrunchie around his wrist.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What are your. What are your pronouns?
Jim Rome
Might.
Bob Kevoian
I.
Josh Arnold
They're.
Chick McGee
He, they're. Haha.
Bobby Jacox
If I can ever start killing it on here.
Josh Arnold
Now, are there. Is that a man scrunchie, or is it a.
Bobby Jacox
Very much a lady scrunchie? If you try to get a man scrunchie, it's like. Yeah, it's. It's just like. It has like a soccer team on it or something like that.
Josh Arnold
And fly Emirates or something.
Chick McGee
Yeah, exactly.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
No, I.
Jess Hooker
That's smart. That's very good for your hair.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jess Hooker
The silky one.
Bobby Jacox
The silky.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's what the girls have shown me.
Chick McGee
I have to do that once again. There's a photograph of me with hair like that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Did they post it yet?
Bob Kevoian
My goodness.
Josh Arnold
Did you ever put your hair up or anything or. Or ponytail up or. Ponytail?
Chick McGee
No, Like a bun.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I would ponytail it if I was painting, which I was. You know, if you houses a lot,
Bob Kevoian
if you take care of your hair, if you had hair to take care of, it doesn't naturally make you gay. I. I heard what you said. Do you put your hair up? No.
Chick McGee
It's why you put it up. No, no, no. The man bun.
Jess Hooker
I know why I put my hair up.
Chick McGee
Yeah. The man.
Pat Godwin
Well, you got to get out of the way.
Bob Kevoian
It's like one or two.
Chick McGee
The man bun, I. I think is mostly over. I. I saw one in South Carolina a couple weeks ago.
Jess Hooker
If. If you're. If you still have it, you're Married to the bit that's.
Josh Arnold
Do you occasionally do it, Bobby?
Bobby Jacox
Yeah, I will. I occasionally do it and I know how it looks like. I was also judging long haired guys for a long time. Time. And then covet happened and I just kind of stopped what happened because I.
Josh Arnold
When I knew you coming up in St. Louis, you had very. You were always clean cut.
Bobby Jacox
Very clean cut. Yeah. And then covet happened.
Chick McGee
The long hair is fine. Just the man bun looks ridiculous.
Bobby Jacox
It does. And I will say whenever I put my hair up and like put it in a bun, like to go to do something or work out or something, I do look in the mirror and
Chick McGee
I'm like, you know, in my entire
Bob Kevoian
life, I've said a lot of things
Chick McGee
I've never said when I put my hair up.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Make sense of your working out.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jim Rome
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Get it off your neck.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Sweaty.
Chick McGee
Get out of your face.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. A low pony there are good.
Josh Arnold
Doesn't Christy love the man bun?
Jess Hooker
She does. She's a big fan.
Bob Kevoian
She likes long hair.
Josh Arnold
So you probably meet girls that like it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I don't hate it.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, I do.
Jess Hooker
We know.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Jess Hooker
Every restaurant
Bob Kevoian
and you totally miss that.
Jim Rome
On.
Chick McGee
If they can bring me oranges in my iced tea, I don't care what kind of idiot they are.
Bob Kevoian
You base it on straight. Just the appearance of the man bun that you don't. You hate it just.
Chick McGee
That's ridiculous.
Jess Hooker
Have you told somebody that they should get rid of their man bun?
Chick McGee
No, I just mock them behind their back.
Jess Hooker
I just don't tip them.
Chick McGee
Yeah, no, no, no, that'd be funny.
Bob Kevoian
There'll be no. There'll be no tip. Mary.
Chick McGee
What I used to do, I would gather it in the back and then I'd get a. An afro pick with a fist. Black fist on it. Leave it there. It confuses people.
Pat Godwin
Okay, that one, that confuses us. You're saying
Bob Kevoian
that might be the perfect crime.
Chick McGee
Can you buy an Afro pick that doesn't have the fist on it?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I have.
Josh Arnold
Have the fist.
Jess Hooker
Yes, I have a. I have a.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, my mom had a bunch of them.
Chick McGee
Yeah, they're teal.
Pat Godwin
Oh, most have a fist on them.
Josh Arnold
No, most do not have a fist.
Chick McGee
You know the, you know the Eldridge Cleaver Bobby seal pick?
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah, with the metal tines? Yeah, I have that. Yes.
Josh Arnold
But does you have any with a fist?
Jess Hooker
No.
Tom Griswold
Of course.
Chick McGee
You've never read Soul on Ice?
Bob Kevoian
Well, Eldridge Cleaver, right?
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, great book.
Josh Arnold
You never read solo?
Bob Kevoian
No, I never did.
Josh Arnold
No, no, he just said Great book. Great book. I guarantee you. Oh, no, I did read you. You know, you cross the bookstore when you see it on a shelf.
Jess Hooker
Why would you ever read that?
Pat Godwin
No, I just memorized the title.
Chick McGee
I just got it. Mail order the book.
Bob Kevoian
The book. Self terrorizing.
Bobby Jacox
It's just.
Josh Arnold
Okay, you see the book and you throw your wallet at it.
Chick McGee
You want a good laugh? If you want a good laugh though,
Bob Kevoian
don't hurt me, Mr. Book.
Chick McGee
You want a good laugh? Famous Black Panther Eldridge Cleaver did a fashion thing where he created. He created a line of trousers.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Chick McGee
That exposed the male member in a. In like a sleeve.
Jess Hooker
Highlighted it. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Put it in. I'm not.
Jess Hooker
Its own compartment.
Chick McGee
Had its own compartment.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
It did not take off. But if you don't believe me, Google it. It's a real thing. Pants, tight pants with an actual sleeve for the male member.
Jess Hooker
Well, if you got it, show it.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And sack.
Chick McGee
Totally serious.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I think Eld is no longer with us. But now what's coming up in the world of news.
Jess Hooker
Oh, we have a plane crash.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Do you have, have you have someone on a plane this morning? We'll tell you if they made it. Hang in there.
Chick McGee
It's a 75 year old plane crash.
Bob Kevoian
What the hell?
Chick McGee
It's a famous plane crash. They found the plane a couple weeks ago.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yes.
Chick McGee
Pretty cool.
Bob Kevoian
I defy anyone else to do this sort of broadcast.
Chick McGee
It's interesting because this is the particular plane crash that got the airline industry to start doing the warnings when you get on the plane and sit down. And the announcements. They didn't do them prior to this and they learned after what happened when this plane crashed. And only a small portion of the passengers survived because of the confusion. This is the reason we have what we have. Well, they actually just found.
Jess Hooker
You don't have to read that anymore.
Chick McGee
I just gave you. I gave you the gist of it, if you will.
Bob Kevoian
You gave her gist?
Josh Arnold
I knew.
Chick McGee
I knew if I said just, just he'd do that.
Bob Kevoian
Somebody do that.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I'm just trying to keep my job.
Chick McGee
Let's. Let's move forward. Try harder. Let's move forward here. Let's talk about money for a second. Money seems to be fleeing all of our purses and wallets these days. If you're paying off some credit cards and the. The interest rate is unbelievable and maybe it's getting tougher and tougher to pay them off every month. Well, maybe you should take the equity out of your house and use that money. Use it for whatever you want, like I said, Chick was telling me about, a buddy of his had a house in Austin, Texas, 10 years ago. He bought it, sold it for more than double just a few weeks ago. That's what's going on. Houses are worth a lot more than they were a while back. If you've owned your house for five years, it's probably worth 30, 40% more than it was. Obviously, it depends on your circumstance. Why am I saying this? Well, you can refinance that house. And so without selling it, you can grab some of the equity in that house and use that money for whatever you want. Right now, folks that are going to American Financing, by some accounts are saving about 800 bucks a month. Depends on your circumstance, obviously, but it's worth a call. If this might suit you, might fit your particular situation as I speak. So you owe it to your family. See what's possible out there. They can tell you in about 10 minutes if it might work for you, refinance the place and grab some of that cash. No upfront fees, by the way. No pressure. Sales. They have a salaried staff that'll walk you through this. Like I said, in about 10 minutes. The place, American Financing, you can call them 866-889-2611 or it's a lot easier to remember this american financing.net do me a favor. Do Bob and Tom. That way they know that we sent you. That'll help us. That'll help them. Once again, it is american financing.net nmls182334

Chick McGee
save over $200 dollars.
Bob Kevoian

From the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. the news desk, it's Jess Hooker. Hello, there's Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Pat. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
I have a story about our guest in just a second.
Bob Kevoian
Well, that's, that's exciting. That's, that's interesting. It's all of it. There's Ace Cosby and I'm Chick McGee and guest comedian appearances on the Bob and Tom show sponsored by Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken. Famous for a reason.
Chick McGee
Delightful. Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken. Now, what's. Our guest is comedian Bobby Jacox. What have you got about him?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, Bobby and I are buddies. He was coming up in St. Louis as I was sort of. I just become like a working comedian, I guess. And then you started. And he had this bit that he started off. It was one of his first bits. And this is a difference between our great friend Greg Warren and I. You guys know that I have. I will occasionally annoy Greg because he doesn't like things like sex humor or bathroom humor and stuff. And Bobby had this great bit about peeing in the dark. Like when you get up late at night and you have to pee in the dark and all of a sudden as you're. As you're a man standing in the toilet, you stop hearing the noise of the pee hitting the water and it's like, oh, what? And he had a very funny act out of him trying to find the toilet again. And so I went up to him, I go, dude, you gotta keep the story. Might be a little.
Bobby Jacox
You're not.
Al Jackson
You're very.
Bobby Jacox
You're very accurate.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I go, dude, you gotta keep doing that bit. That's great. And Bobby goes, greg Warren just yelled at me for doing that. Like, he did not.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Want to. You. You doing any bathroom?
Bobby Jacox
Yeah. Cuz I stopped doing that. And I remember cuz you kind of came up to me, you're like, hey, what happened? You're like, I haven't seen you do
Tom Griswold
that bit in a while.
Bobby Jacox
I was like, yeah. Greg like yelled at me. He said, don't ever do that bit again.
Josh Arnold
Of course he told you that.
Bobby Jacox
You're like, I loved it. But yeah, that was, that was where you were always helpful was because a lot of people would give me advice, but I feel like you would give me advice that would relate to me. Other people give me advice that they thought they should be giving, but you always gave me advice directly to me.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that's been my.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Anytime I give advice, it's always for the person. Not what I would do.
Bobby Jacox
Right.
Chick McGee
Oh, very good.
Bob Kevoian
Now will you entertain the thoughts of Greg Warren possibly being a monster?
Josh Arnold
Believe that?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
He's a nice guy, I guess.
Josh Arnold
And the last time I saw Bobby, we were at a baseball game. And it was one of those human moments where he and I were talking and he was telling me, you know, a story or whatever, and he accidentally spit and it landed right on my bottom lip.
Jess Hooker
No,
Bobby Jacox
not joking. A month later, I did the same thing to Greg Warren.
Jess Hooker
I bet Greg. I bet Greg almost died.
Jim Rome
He.
Bobby Jacox
I thought he was gonna start wrestling me.
Josh Arnold
I thought he was gonna put me
Bobby Jacox
in like, I thought he was gonna put me in a full Nelson. Yeah, he was like.
Josh Arnold
So he didn't react as coolly as I did.
Tom Griswold
You guys.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah, you guys were both. You guys. I could tell you guys both loved me. That was nice to know.
Chick McGee
I'm sorry.
Bob Kevoian
Go ahead.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, we are talking to Bobby Jacox Media.
Jess Hooker
What.
Josh Arnold
What do you do when something like that happens?
Jess Hooker
Oh, you acknowledge it. You wipe it and you move it.
Josh Arnold
Right. You kind of have to just acknowledge how awkward and awful and then laugh and.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Bobby Jacox
That's what you did. You said, top 10 grossest things that's ever happened.
Chick McGee
You didn't say something like, well, I got a taste of it. Give me more.
Jess Hooker
Oh, wow.
Chick McGee
Okay. That would have. That would have been quite a shock.
Bob Kevoian
I like that.
Chick McGee
Bobby Jacox is our get. You're a relatively young guy. We've discussed the fact that you've got a kind of a Jesus look going. Like if Jesus were a workout guy.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Jacox
Like if Jesus could run on water.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Very good.
Chick McGee
Well, that's very funny.
Bob Kevoian
I love that.
Chick McGee
Yeah, you're very fit. Prior to becoming a comedian, what was your.
Bobby Jacox
Before I did this? I was a firefighter.
Chick McGee
Oh, no kidding.
Bobby Jacox
For many years.
Chick McGee
Oh, good for you.
Bobby Jacox
And also, just like you guys with the long hair, I also have been misconstrued as a lady firefighter, which is not a great day. The guy after we. We saved this guy's house, and he was thanking all of us, and then he came up to me and he goes, man, I've never met a lady firefighter before. And then I was like, I'm not a lady. He goes, all right, man. And, like, walked away like he didn't believe me, but he was like, yeah, you have to be a lady firefighter. I'm like, I just saved your house. And you're. You're emasculating me.
Chick McGee
This why you've got the beard now? To keep.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bobby Jacox
I had to grow the beard so I could. Yeah. So be a little bit more.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I bet you do without the beers. Soft features. Oh, yeah. I think I. I think I might be in line.
Josh Arnold
He's beautiful.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, he's a beautiful person.
Bobby Jacox
We were at a dance. We'll say a dance hall hall, or we were at a dance hall once, and these guys behind me. I turned around and I had my long hair.
Chick McGee
They go, whoa, we thought she was a woman.
Bobby Jacox
They said that to us. They thought I was a lady.
Jess Hooker
What kind of dance?
Pat Godwin
Accordions.
Bobby Jacox
Let me text some people and I'll
Chick McGee
get back to you guys.
Bobby Jacox
I'm not sure. What kind of was.
Josh Arnold
They're bummed out because they weren't just looking at your hair.
Bobby Jacox
Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Oh, you have a nice butt.
Bobby Jacox
I do have a nice butt. I had, like, a little cheer when I was. When I. When I played football, the cheerleaders would cheer for me. They're like, 82, has a nice butt. And then I turned around and I. I'll never forget all the cheer.
Bob Kevoian
Go, dude, that's Bobby.
Bobby Jacox
Like, they were floored that I had a nice butt.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So, hey, speaking of butts.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yesterday we had in. Did you see the button?
Jess Hooker
I, I. Yeah, I was exposed to the butt nut.
Chick McGee
Well, let's expose everybody one more time.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
This was part of a world record. There was a world record. Was it in Wisconsin? They had the world's largest nutcracker.
Bob Kevoian
Ergo, the world's largest nut.
Chick McGee
It got me thinking about, what is the world's largest nut? I did a little homework, and the world's largest nut is. It is called the butt nut. And if we could get a picture of it up there, it looks just like a giant human buttocks.
Jess Hooker
I think it looks like a donkey's ass.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, sure, I get that.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah. That particular one without the tail.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Josh Arnold
Do I like donkey asses now?
Chick McGee
Yeah, that is a big.
Bob Kevoian
I think I like that.
Bobby Jacox
But not a phone number.
Bob Kevoian
I think I like donkeys wearing sneakers, ears, if you know what I'm saying.
Josh Arnold
I mean, it's amazing how much, like a butt and even the tops of the thighs and.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And as you said yesterday, a little factory hair there going. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
Very, very odd. But that's in honor of the world's largest nutcracker.
Jess Hooker
Do you eat those?
Chick McGee
It's in Minnesota.
Bob Kevoian
You can, I guess.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
In the throes of passion, anything happens
Chick McGee
in Luverne, Minnesota, the world's largest nutcracker. Let's check in the news desk. We've got Jess Hooker sitting in for Christy Lee. What's happening over there?
Jess Hooker
It's happened again, guys.
Josh Arnold
What?
Jess Hooker
A man became trapped in a porta Potty in Kansas City after he jumped in to retrieve.
Bob Kevoian
Come on with this.
Jess Hooker
A Mountain Dew bottle he accidentally dropped.
Josh Arnold
No. Come on.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Was he using as a spitter or something or.
Jess Hooker
I'm guessing if you're in a porter,
Josh Arnold
there's a poem there.
Bob Kevoian
Here, I see it.
Chick McGee
I've lost. I've lost my spitter. No, no, wait. I've lost my spitter sitting here in the. Oh, boy. This is like the third one of these we've had a Mountain Dew bottle.
Josh Arnold
What drugs did he have in it?
Jess Hooker
Exactly.
Bob Kevoian
There you go.
Jess Hooker
Apparently he was trapped in the toilet for eight hours before being rescued.
Chick McGee
Now it's mountain doo.
Bob Kevoian
So he was.
Chick McGee
Wait a minute.
Bob Kevoian
Screaming for eight hours? I guess.
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Chick McGee
That's brutal.
Josh Arnold
That's insane.
Jess Hooker
That is insane.
Bobby Jacox
You run out of Mountain Dew pretty quick too.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Yeah. Boy, I finished this on hour two.
Bob Kevoian
Man, I wish I had that Mountain Dew back.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Al Jackson
Oh, that's.
Chick McGee
This is what, the third or fourth one of these major.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. They're everywhere.
Chick McGee
People falling into portalettes.
Jess Hooker
I feel like people are doing it on purpose at this point.
Chick McGee
Oh, well, the one guy was doing it on purpose to take pictures of ladies sitting down.
Jess Hooker
Like an up the.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Shots. They're right off the press, believe it or not.
Bob Kevoian
Nut is incredibly prevalent everywhere. Actually, that happens.
Jess Hooker
What do you mean?
Bob Kevoian
It happens a lot. Guys crawl down and take pictures up in.
Josh Arnold
Oh, just be three out of five outhouses of a person.
Bob Kevoian
I think it's closer to four out of five.
Chick McGee
I'm glad that's not what you're into today. Yeah, I know. Do you want to get to the plane story before these guys ruin it?
Josh Arnold
How are we gonna ruin it?
Jess Hooker
I think you ruined it.
Chick McGee
I didn't ruin it.
Bob Kevoian
You explained the whole thing.
Jess Hooker
The wreckage from a Pan Am plane has been found nearly 75 years after it plunged into the ocean off Puerto Rico.
Josh Arnold
Are there any survivors?
Chick McGee
There were.
Jess Hooker
There were originally.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
He's not going to let the comedy.
Chick McGee
No, no, no, no.
Josh Arnold
There's no.
Chick McGee
There's no comedy.
Bob Kevoian
He has a. He has a definite goal in mind.
Pat Godwin
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Explorers found the Clipper Endeavor last month using a sonar drone to locate the fuselage and tail in 2,000ft of water.
Jim Rome
Water.
Josh Arnold
Holy cow.
Chick McGee
There's a pretty cool picture of it.
Josh Arnold
So it's still submerged.
Chick McGee
Yeah. There you go. There's a photograph of it. Yeah, it's.
Bob Kevoian
Well, that could be.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, that's.
Chick McGee
It's not. It's the. It's the aircraft.
Pat Godwin
That's a pier.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. That's just a result of a lot of flooding.
Josh Arnold
They are just guessing that that's the plane.
Chick McGee
That's the plane.
Bobby Jacox
Is that the butt nut up close
Jess Hooker
right in the middle?
Josh Arnold
I think that's the plane.
Chick McGee
The point of it is the 1952
Jess Hooker
crash which killed 52 people.
Bob Kevoian
Wow. That.
Bobby Jacox
That's weird.
Jess Hooker
Helped lead to the lead to requirements for passenger safety briefings given on every flight today.
Chick McGee
This is why this is interesting. When you get on a Plane. And they read you the. It's because when I think 12 people survived this.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And they reported that it was. There was just chaos on the plane. No one knew what to do. This is why they tell you, here are the exits.
Josh Arnold
I can't help but be skeptical that they didn't know what to do.
Al Jackson
Do.
Josh Arnold
Hey, we're on fire. Well, I guess we just sit here and wait for the stewardess.
Chick McGee
Oh, so we can smoke. I'm in the no smoking section. I thought that this room would be mature enough to see this as an interesting.
Josh Arnold
Well, we don't even know if that's the plane.
Chick McGee
That is the plane.
Josh Arnold
How do you know?
Bob Kevoian
All right.
Jess Hooker
But you think pilots are gods. Like, you're really weird about flying.
Chick McGee
Weird about flying. Here for a second, magic made you
Bob Kevoian
think we were going to treat this with respect.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What have we ever done?
Jess Hooker
When has that ever happened?
Tom Griswold
Ever Happen.
Bob Kevoian
Happen.
Chick McGee
I do have one. You know something? I do have one beef about flying. I love flying. Pilots, flight attendants, everyone who works. I'm getting a little tired of being pitched to. To get the airline credit card.
Pat Godwin
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah. That is a lot.
Bob Kevoian
Well, you're leaving money on the table if you don't have one.
Josh Arnold
Why am I missing this? I Sky miles the last few times I've flown. I don't remember.
Chick McGee
Oh, there's. Sometimes they.
Jess Hooker
Delta's really big about.
Chick McGee
Sometimes they play a movie, or then the guy gets on the microphone and get the credit card, and then.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Pat Godwin
Oh.
Jess Hooker
Do you love the new Delta movie that goes through time? Like the very. I love it. And they're all wearing the uniforms from like. Like the 40s, the 50s, the 60s. Oh, it's adorable.
Josh Arnold
I must already be asleep.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, probably so.
Josh Arnold
Because I take my Dramamine, time it so that when I get on board, I can just pass out.
Pat Godwin
Take your shoes out. Off and.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
And you.
Jim Rome
And you.
Chick McGee
And you. See, you take your d. You rock it up and shoot it, right?
Pat Godwin
He crushes it.
Jess Hooker
Rock it up.
Josh Arnold
I want it to work.
Bob Kevoian
Tom, you're. You're missing the point. Josh always takes his shoes off in
Josh Arnold
flight, and no one's the wiser. Oh, believe I have zero foot odor. Zero.
Bobby Jacox
Zero.
Josh Arnold
If anything, my foot odor adds to the.
Chick McGee
Is a positive.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
It's like.
Chick McGee
Like an air freshener that people often.
Josh Arnold
I take my shoes off, people go, is somebody baking cookies?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I've heard it smells like fresh linen.
Josh Arnold
That's right. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Josh Arnold
My feet are under the seat, hopefully. And no one knows, but you fall
Pat Godwin
asleep and they come out.
Jess Hooker
No, when he's out, he's out.
Pat Godwin
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
If there's an emergency and you have to evacuate, you're going to be the guy stepping on the hot lava.
Josh Arnold
John McLean.
Bob Kevoian
Have you seen the. Have you seen the guy? They took a video. He's sitting in front of a woman and she has her shoes and socks off. I guess she just wore sandals onto the airplane. And she puts her feet up through the, through the, where the armrest is right up to the guy.
Jess Hooker
I've seen that. But I think that that person was with him.
Bob Kevoian
And I think. Okay, I think it is. But my really, really hot.
Josh Arnold
My buddy and I saw this on. The woman took her shoes off and she just had her leg kind of crossed. So it wasn't. And she had a bag of like gummy worms. And so she was loose. Gummy worms. She was. She would take a few gummy worms, put them in her mouth, scratch her heel, go back for gumming worms, Eat a few, go back, rub her foot. We were howling.
Bob Kevoian
Holy heck, man.
Josh Arnold
We were laughing.
Jim Rome
Oh.
Chick McGee
In any event, that's.
Josh Arnold
But we don't know. How do they know it's the plane? Tom, you have not answered this.
Chick McGee
Because they know where it went down and they finally have the technology to go.
Josh Arnold
But if they knew where it went down, why did it take them 75
Chick McGee
years to find it? It's 2,000ft underneath the water, so therefore unrecognizable. It looks just like a plane.
Pat Godwin
Really.
Bob Kevoian
It looks like a bunch of two by fours.
Chick McGee
They had a former passenger identify her hand luggage.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, wait a minute.
Josh Arnold
No, thank you.
Chick McGee
Wait a minute.
Bob Kevoian
Hold.
Chick McGee
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Now we get some.
Chick McGee
And they're gonna, they're gonna send somebody down to get it. But they think the clothes may be a little dated, you know, since it went down.
Josh Arnold
And I don't need those bell bottoms.
Bob Kevoian
I can't possibly wear them.
Chick McGee
Oh God. It's, it's, it's interesting.
Bob Kevoian
Can I tell you about.
Chick McGee
Simply say sure immediately. But, but before you do, I'd like to do a, A pitch for the Bob and Tom credit card.
Bob Kevoian
That's exactly right.
Chick McGee
If, if you'd like.
Bob Kevoian
You know, in the United States, and we're one of the bigger countries, there's a break in and a home every 26 seconds. That means somewhere right now an intruder is getting closer to somebody else's stuff. Traditional home security only alerts you after a break in already has happened. Talk about closing the barn door or that's too late. Simplisafe. Changing all that using advanced AI alerts simply safes us based live agents identify threats on your property and help deter them so that intruder never gets into your house. The crime has stopped before it even starts. That's why I choose SimpliSafe to secure my home. One thing Tom and I agreed on, I have it at my compound and Tom has it here at the Bob and Tom studios. And there's no long term contracts with Simplisafe. No lock ins or, or hidden cancellation fees. Simplisafe knows life happens and you need to change things up. And that's cool. They'll work with you. Plus, SimpliSafe has affordable pricing, monitoring and deterrence plans start at around a dollar a day. And the setup experience is oh so easy. Well, let's put it this way. I've done it three different times setting up my Simplisafe. No problem at all. And we'd like you to experience that same peace of mind that we all do here in the studios and I do at home. That's why We've partnered with Simplisc Safe to offer Bob and Tom listeners only an exclusive 50% off your new SimpliSafe system just by visiting SimpliSafeTom.com that's half off@simplisafetom.com and remember, there's no safe like Simplisafe.
Chick McGee
Now, before the plane takes off, I'd like to tell you about our credit card.
Josh Arnold
You know what they, how they would move some cards is if they don't give you a T shirt when you sign up, you get access to the airbag that drops down or things like that. Yeah. Only those who sign up will actually get.
Bob Kevoian
And you sit there being on oxy huffing oxygen. Yeah. And in the event of an altitude
Chick McGee
issue, only those that have the credit card will be getting the oxygen. Everybody else, too bad.
Bob Kevoian
Why don't you sign up for it and don't use it? How about that?
Chick McGee
No, don't get me started.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Chick McGee
Now we are going to come back. We're hanging out with comedian Bobby Jacox. Coming up, comedian Al Jackson. Coming up today in history, we're going to fill you in on what's going on in the world of history. Make you a little bit smarter, we hope, or at least a little bit more informed. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jim Rome

Bob Kevoian
Welcome back to the Bob Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. At the news desk, it's Jess Hooker.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Hello. Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chick.
Bob Kevoian
There's Josh Arnold.
Tom Griswold
Hi.
Bob Kevoian
There's Ace Cosby.
Al Jackson
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
I'm Chick McGee. Hello, Tom. I'm at the NHTSA sports desk. Tom, we have a special guest.
Chick McGee
We do. Comedian Bobby jcox has joined us. We're going to find. We found. Found out a little bit about his past. Bobby, a former firefighter. And we're going to find out about the past in general because we're going to visit today in history. Oh, ladies and gentlemen, we had a news story about a day ago. Lou Gehrig this morning, because they're making a movie. They're gonna. The famous movie about Lou Gehrig, of course, is Pride of the Yankees. Gary Cooper. Babe Ruth. As Babe Ruth.
Bob Kevoian
Yep.
Jess Hooker
Pride of the Yankees is a baseball movie.
Josh Arnold
It is.
Jess Hooker
It's not about the Civil War.
Josh Arnold
No, but I, I get why you, why you would think that. I mean, it sounds like it could be, I guess.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, fellas, look, I really did. It's a girl. Look, fell. Fellas.
Chick McGee
Ironically, it's Robert E. Lee. What a. Whoever would have thought. Today is. This is interesting. And who's Glenn Powell?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, the current guy is going to
Chick McGee
play the great Lou Gehrig.
Jess Hooker
Related to Drew.
Chick McGee
Lou Gehrig. Lou Gehrig is a. Was a great baseball player and sadly, Lou Gehrig's disease named after him. Als. Very serious. Serious. But it was on this date something cool happened. And Lou Gehr was a great baseball player. Part of. What is considered. What is it? The 27 Yankees are considered the best team in history.
Bob Kevoian
That's what those who know say.
Chick McGee
But in 1925 on the state, Lou Gehrig hit his first grand Islam.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Chick McGee
In 1995 on the state, Josh Arnold ate his first grand slam at Denny. And it's a. They're both on my list right here, I think.
Josh Arnold
That's funny.
Chick McGee
I wouldn't have known it if you hadn't been wearing the T shirt
Jim Rome
on
Chick McGee
this date in history. Oh, this is interesting. 1967, Dr. Thomas Starse performed the first successful liver transplant.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Jess Hooker
Starsey.
Bob Kevoian
That's his last name.
Chick McGee
Starzi S T A R Z I, I, I shouldn't have done any more homework on this because it said the first successful liver transplant.
Josh Arnold
Oh, sure, yeah. Many had to go wrong, right?
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Break a few eggs, don't you? Yeah, I know that because I had a grand slam.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
From a grand slam, if you're eating
Chick McGee
liver beef or chicken.
Jess Hooker
Lamb.
Josh Arnold
Well, they both have their place. I've never had lamb.
Jess Hooker
I have one. I have. I have a seven pound lamb liver in my freezer right now.
Chick McGee
That's from one lamb?
Jess Hooker
I don't know. That's what I need to find out because that seems really big, right? Huh.
Chick McGee
That must have been an alcoholic sheep.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You got a seven pound liver. My God.
Bob Kevoian
I think you agree with me. There's no debate at all. Chicken liver. Yeah, chicken livers, they're fine with a little water chestnut wrapped around it.
Pat Godwin
Oh, man.
Josh Arnold
Well, that's tasty.
Bob Kevoian
You got a cocktail party.
Jess Hooker
They have exotic livers on that website where I got the python.
Bob Kevoian
Exotic liver.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Like camel liver.
Pat Godwin
I have one like a spotted.
Chick McGee
You have one hanging on. It's in there.
Bob Kevoian
You do look a little yellow.
Chick McGee
That's all I'm saying.
Josh Arnold
A human liver typically weighs about three pounds.
Jess Hooker
I think it is. I think it's one full lamb liver.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Jess Hooker
There's a. There's a farm, Viking Farms. It's just east of me. And that's where we get all of our lamb. We had lamb shops last night.
Chick McGee
Does lamb liver taste good?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it tastes. It's delicious.
Bob Kevoian
How do you feel about the term lily livered?
Josh Arnold
Funny. I'm a fan. Yeah. For like a coward.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, absolutely.
Chick McGee
Is that cilantro?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah. Oh, sure.
Chick McGee
I don't even get that.
Bob Kevoian
It's absolutely.
Josh Arnold
No, it actually says the liver of a male. This is human. Yeah, 3.3 pounds, typically. Female, 2.6 pounds.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
So much like pay disparity, you have a liver disparity as well. By the way, that equal pay thing is a myth. Look it up.
Bob Kevoian
Making a joke of someone.
Chick McGee
Happy birthday. Let's start with Woody Harrelson. Born in 1961.
Josh Arnold
Completely unlikable, isn't he?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. I love the commercials they're doing.
Josh Arnold
He's great.
Bob Kevoian
Matthew McConaughey. Stop saying weird stuff, will you?
Josh Arnold
I love Woody.
Jess Hooker
I hope that they're really brothers. That would be amazing.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, well, they're very.
Chick McGee
My dad. Closer than Woody's father. Wasn't he, like, a professional prison?
Josh Arnold
Pretty wild.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. But apparently Matthew McConaughey's mom hooked up with him at some point. Point?
Chick McGee
Are you kidding?
Jess Hooker
No.
Josh Arnold
There's like, some legit conjecture, like.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Yeah, she admitted that. Friend of the show, Saul Hudson. Happy birthday. Born in 1965. Anyone?
Josh Arnold
He's looking.
Bob Kevoian
I'll tell you. He's looking for a bargain, wherever he is.
Chick McGee
It's Slash from Guns N Roses. Slash. People get confused because that was also OJ's nickname.
Bob Kevoian
Saul Hudson. Oh, Slash. I'm sorry, is.
Chick McGee
He's. I forgot this.
Josh Arnold
He's British.
Chick McGee
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
Tom was actually shocked.
Chick McGee
I was shocked.
Tom Griswold
What else?
Bob Kevoian
Tom?
Chick McGee
He's British. His mother designed costumes for David Bowie.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
And Diana Ross.
Bob Kevoian
That's. Well, right this way, Ms. Ross.
Chick McGee
And he's currently holding up the.
Bob Kevoian
The.
Chick McGee
The industry of making top hats.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Other famous top hat people.
Pat Godwin
Anyone?
Jess Hooker
Lincoln?
Pat Godwin
Mr. Peanut.
Jess Hooker
Oh, Mr. Peanut. That's a good one.
Bob Kevoian
Peanut.
Josh Arnold
Dr. Demento.
Bob Kevoian
Mr. Yeah.
Bobby Jacox
The monopoly guy.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Uncle Penny Bags, please.
Bob Kevoian
Didn't you go as Uncle Penny Bags to a Halloween party?
Josh Arnold
Every Halloween?
Bob Kevoian
That's what I thought.
Chick McGee
1967. Oh, sad. The great actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Josh Arnold
Terrific actor.
Chick McGee
Oh, God, he's a great narrator.
Pat Godwin
Everything.
Bob Kevoian
I don't advise you to waste a day like I did and go down the rabbit hole of Philip Seymour Hoffman introspective videos on YouTube. Just don't do it.
Jess Hooker
What?
Bob Kevoian
I did it. So you.
Jess Hooker
A lot of interviews and him talking
Bob Kevoian
about trying to find happiness.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, God.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, Exactly.
Chick McGee
Happy birthday, Marlon Wayans.
Bob Kevoian
The forgotten way.
Chick McGee
Is he. He's the one from White Chicks, isn't he?
Bob Kevoian
I think. Well, there are two.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, there are. Yeah. Two brothers and white chicks. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Marlon and Dagmar.
Chick McGee
They're like the black bald ones. There's a whole bunch, Right, sure. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Black bald. They love being called.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, Alec Baldwin. You're part of the black Baldwins, right?
Josh Arnold
Ironically, though, none of those black guys shot anybody.
Chick McGee
There you go.
Jess Hooker
I think it's ironically the guy.
Chick McGee
Yeah, the ironic part.
Josh Arnold
Oh, black people shooting. Cancel me, you sons of.
Bob Kevoian
Well, I'll open the door for him.
Chick McGee
Happy birthday. Happy birthday, Monica Lewinsky.
Jess Hooker
Ah, a hero.
Josh Arnold
I agree.
Bob Kevoian
She's got a.
Al Jackson
Guys.
Jess Hooker
Yes. She's got a great podcast.
Bob Kevoian
Really nice podcast.
Jess Hooker
She's embraced what happened. She finds some comedy in it. Like, she's great.
Josh Arnold
Wanted. None of that stupid loudmouth.
Chick McGee
Monica is. Shortened name.
Josh Arnold
Oh, Monica is. Yes.
Pat Godwin
Well, here we go.
Bob Kevoian
Her real name.
Chick McGee
Harmonica.
Pat Godwin
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
Mouth organ.
Josh Arnold
Mouth organ.
Pat Godwin
Jeez. We're just telling her praises.
Bob Kevoian
What would you do with someone like
Jess Hooker
that 30 years ago?
Bob Kevoian
They were just on call to please you. Tom. What would you do with joint sex?
Pat Godwin
Being shamed.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Would you like to take your cigar and. Huh.
Chick McGee
It was my fault. Okay, let's see. Oh, and Happy birthday to Chick. You'll know this.
Bobby Jacox
1980.
Chick McGee
Michelle Williams.
Bob Kevoian
Philip Seymour Hoffman's.
Jim Rome
What?
Bob Kevoian
No, no, Michelle.
Jess Hooker
Michelle Williams. Which one is.
Chick McGee
Oh, the singer.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, she was in Destiny's Child with Michelle Obama.
Chick McGee
She's like the Ringo of. The Ringo of.
Bob Kevoian
You had Michelle Williams, Destiny's Child, Michelle Obama and Diana Ross's daughter.
Josh Arnold
Black women. Be singing.
Chick McGee
You're gonna. You're gonna own the bit, aren't you? You're stick with it.
Josh Arnold
Well, if you guys would have laughed the first time, I wouldn't have sound like a total monster.
Pat Godwin
By the way.
Josh Arnold
Clearly I was just screwing around. I'm going to laugh real hard. Sometimes when I swing on the tramp and I let go, I'd like somebody to catch me.
Pat Godwin
The tramp.
Bob Kevoian
All I'm going to say is, you
Josh Arnold
want to get into.
Bob Kevoian
All I'm going to say is, a poor workman blames his tools. Okay, but I can't argue with black people.
Chick McGee
Be singing. Okay, thank you very much. So where was I? Monica Lewinsky, famous intern, I guess.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
She went above and beyond.
Bob Kevoian
Oh.
Chick McGee
Or below and beyond the desk. If you want to know what was going on. Didn't someone come in the room? And she was under the desk.
Jess Hooker
There's lots of stories. Who knows if they're true?
Bob Kevoian
It was a Casper Weinberger.
Bobby Jacox
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
The Friendly Secretary coming up next.
Jess Hooker
Next, Al Jackson.
Chick McGee
Kevin G. Comedian Al Jackson. We'll hang out with Al Jackson and Bobby jcox. We've got some cool stuff coming up in the news and I'll urge you to go to our website. Get hooked up with Jess Hooker's new cooking segment. She's got a great cooking segment and she makes a terrific recipe for kind of a cheesecakey thing. It was really good.
Jess Hooker
New episode drops tonight.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, cheesecake.

Pat Godwin
Hi, Jim.
Bob Kevoian
Hello. Oh, there's Josh Arnold.
Al Jackson
Hi.
Bob Kevoian
Ace Cosby.
Josh Arnold
Hey.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, indeed. I'm Chick. Hello, Tom, we've got a guest.
Chick McGee
We got ourselves a hippie. He's a comedian. He says it's Bobby J. Cox.
Josh Arnold
Bobby Jacobs.
Chick McGee
Bobby Jacox.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
Your middle name. Okay.
Josh Arnold
There's no middle name.
Chick McGee
Bobby Cox would be weird.
Bob Kevoian
Bobby Jacobs.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Okay. Now I was about to go.
Bob Kevoian
Go.
Chick McGee
Speaking of God, Bob, there We go. It's Al Jackson. Hey Al, how are you?
Al Jackson
Are we ever not speaking about that time? How are you?
Chick McGee
Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. By the way, it was closed circuit extra. Thank you to Al. I may be seeing you, Al.
Jim Rome
Yes.
Chick McGee
Where are you in Colorado these days?
Al Jackson
I am. I'm here for like the next month, which is crazy.
Pat Godwin
Which is.
Al Jackson
I got in town gigs, which is beautiful.
Chick McGee
All right.
Pat Godwin
All right.
Chick McGee
Do you know Bobby Jacobs?
Al Jackson
Dogs? I don't, I don't. What's up, man?
Bobby Jacox
Not much. Very nice to meet you.
Chick McGee
He looks like he could play an extra fit. Jesus. Yeah, he's about that age.
Bobby Jacox
He.
Chick McGee
You kind of look like a Kid Rock a little bit.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah. A little Kid Rock or like a stand in mom for a movie.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Al Jackson
From the back.
Bobby Jacox
Yes.
Al Jackson
Yeah, there's a soup there. Well, I guess, I mean apparently he's in some trouble now.
Pat Godwin
Now.
Al Jackson
But there was a rapper that Bobby jcox looks just like named Jay Wick who was on his way to being huge.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Al Jackson
And he, he had a little. He fumbled the bag.
Chick McGee
Oh no.
Al Jackson
Dare I say.
Chick McGee
What did he do?
Al Jackson
Apparently the they they. He used a weapon against somebody. It's unpleasant radio stuff. But he was, was.
Bob Kevoian
Sometimes you got to make point. Sometimes you got.
Al Jackson
I don't know what was going on. I always say with something like that. I doubt that these two people did not know each other. I'm not saying that this is not. I see this is the right way to handle it. But I mean I remember sending clips of him to the homies on the group thread and they'd be like they would send one. And then I started hearing about him on social media and he, he had a song called Pork Chop Sammich.
Chick McGee
Yep, I like that.
Al Jackson
And I mean was a banger.
Jess Hooker
Jeff Oscar introduced me to that song.
Chick McGee
What's this gents name again?
Al Jackson
Jay Wick. I don't in.
Chick McGee
But he looks kind of like Bobby Jacobs.
Al Jackson
Oh yeah, that didn't happen.
Bobby Jacox
He didn't switch into a career of comedy, right?
Jess Hooker
No, no, no, no, no.
Chick McGee
Bobby, have you ever. Have you ever done any jail time?
Bobby Jacox
I've never done any jail time. I've gotten out of like one ticket because I made the copy laugh. So that's it. But I've never, never taken me to jail. Cuz I don't think they'd know which jail to take me to.
Chick McGee
I feel like jail. If you were, if you were in jail you'd be. Yikes.
Bob Kevoian
You'd hear this a lot. Look what we got here, you'd feel
Chick McGee
someone grabbing, grabbing your ponytail just to hold you down
Bob Kevoian
or up.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Hey, Al, can I. A few months ago, I think, think Josh said that he feels like he came up with a new phrase. Do you remember this, Josh?
Josh Arnold
I don't.
Jess Hooker
Okay, you did. And, But I felt like I did it. We were in a meeting the other day and I was trying to reference something saying like, hey, check your facts or go back in time. I need you to. And I said, hey, scroll up. Like, scroll up, check what happened before.
Josh Arnold
That's good.
Jess Hooker
Isn't that good?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, good.
Al Jackson
That is, is.
Chick McGee
I think that if that could catch
Jess Hooker
on, that could catch on.
Al Jackson
And you should, you should be in urban dictionaries getting credit for saying that because that is a phrase that could not only be used in like regular, like, you know, casual life. That could be used like kind of casually around the office as well.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Al Jackson
I mean, that is a great phrase in every. It's universal.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Al Jackson
I'm, I'm low key in love with that. I love it.
Josh Arnold
You got to make a video today of you using it. It's gonna. And it'll be a thing.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jess Hooker
All right, we'll do that. Do that.
Chick McGee
Oh, so scroll up.
Jess Hooker
Scroll up. So, yeah, I was, it was, we were talking about people commenting on the show and they were saying things that. It was kind of old, so you
Chick McGee
can say I heard there was something really offensive in the Bob and Tom show today. Oh, yeah. Scroll up.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, they do that all the time. Scroll.
Chick McGee
Seven, seven minutes ago.
Jess Hooker
And even emails.
Josh Arnold
Emails when people only offensive if I meant it.
Chick McGee
Now he's mad.
Jess Hooker
In an email when somebody comes and asks you a question. That's all. The information is already in the previous email. Scroll up. Yeah, Yeah, I need you to, I need you to do the work.
Josh Arnold
Do you remember the phrase I came up with?
Jess Hooker
I don't, but I, I, I'll, I'll look.
Josh Arnold
Apparently it wasn't great.
Chick McGee
You got a phrase for me today, Al? I should explain to Bobby.
Josh Arnold
I got a couple for you, Al.
Bob Kevoian
You know what? I don't want to tell the future here or anything, but I get the feeling Josh is going to curse anyone.
Pat Godwin
That's my favorite.
Bob Kevoian
I love it. I love that Josh.
Chick McGee
It's happened. A little nervous now, Bobby, what is happening here is Al and I are both from the same geographical location, more or less. However, Alice significantly hipper than I am. I know that may be hard to believe, so Al is trying to upgrade my hypnos status. My hypnis Level, if you will, by teaching me the phrases of a contemporary culture. What have we got today?
Al Jackson
Alright, Tom, I got one. Because I, I, I want you to get this one. And it's one that again you're going to hear. Hear it. It's not going to make a lot of sense at first and you might panic, but remember, like, what Pat Morita taught the karate kid. Remember your training. Okay.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Al Jackson
So just break it down in your head and you got this. So, Tom, what is back tea.
Chick McGee
Back T. Letter T.
Al Jackson
Like the drink tea.
Chick McGee
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. I assume it's older gossip.
Al Jackson
Gossip.
Chick McGee
A dated gossip.
Al Jackson
You're, you're, you know what? I'm gonna totally accept it. Yeah, that, that's perfect. It's just basically like, give me the back to like. Or you could say give me. What's another word that you could use? Starts with an L. All the kids are using it. Kind of a Lord of the Rings word. Give me the low, low down.
Josh Arnold
The lore.
Chick McGee
Oh, is that what you're talking about?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. The lore. Is that what you're talking about? Yeah, the best.
Al Jackson
Absolutely.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. The backstory. The lore.
Chick McGee
Yes. Okay.
Al Jackson
Yes, yes.
Bob Kevoian
Catch me up.
Chick McGee
So, but it's not really like the tea, like gossip, though.
Pat Godwin
That's what I.
Jess Hooker
No, it's. Bring me up to speed.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, you're talking about spill the tea or something.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Very good, Tom. Yeah.
Al Jackson
Yeah, that was. You knocked it out of the park. Just like catch me up.
Chick McGee
Only reason to know spill the tea because it was a crossword thing the other day.
Jess Hooker
I bet you loved that.
Al Jackson
That was in the crossword.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Sorry, Al.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no.
Al Jackson
Oh, I mean, that's when it's over.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And I, I was saying earlier, if you're. Once you get into a cross puzzle, it means you've made it. I, I texted Greg Warren a. A photograph of a New York Times crossword puzzle and the answer was Nate. For Nate Bargazi.
Tom Griswold
Who.
Chick McGee
He's, you know, he's buddies with Nate. We all are.
Josh Arnold
But leave Greg alone.
Bob Kevoian
He, he's a good man.
Chick McGee
Does he get mad when I text him?
Josh Arnold
Not at all.
Chick McGee
Yes. If I, if I come upon a new iced tea, Al, I'll take a photograph of it and send it to Greg. We're big Ice tea. Not the. Are you really not the musical artist? The, the, the beverage tip for you, Al. Iced tea. Orange.
Bob Kevoian
Nothing there.
Chick McGee
Orange, not lemon. Trust me, it'll change your.
Bob Kevoian
He likes a lemon slice in his tea. Al, your thoughts?
Al Jackson
You put orange slice. Okay, that's kind of like an I made it move.
Chick McGee
Yeah. It's like you.
Al Jackson
Yeah. That you got time in your life if you're putting orange slices in anything.
Chick McGee
Yeah. It's nice. It's better than lemon. Now what? Do you have any more words for me?
Josh Arnold
I'm.
Jim Rome
I'm.
Chick McGee
I'm gonna.
Al Jackson
Absolutely. I absolutely do. Tom. Let's keep going. Tom, tell me, what is a lurp?
Josh Arnold
I know what a LARP is.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
L, U, R, P. Lurp. L, E, R, P. Oh, that changes it. Is it a shortened form of a word?
Al Jackson
Not that I know of.
Josh Arnold
Acronym?
Al Jackson
No. Okay, good guess.
Chick McGee
Is it negative?
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Okay, he's a lerp. It's not short for slurp, is it?
Al Jackson
No.
Josh Arnold
Okay, when is that a negative?
Chick McGee
When Jaycox goes to jail. He's gonna regret having that man bun when he's in where's my hair tie at?
Tom Griswold
What?
Chick McGee
He's in county for all month.
Josh Arnold
Lurp.
Chick McGee
Is it anti intellectual? Maybe someone's alert. Someone who doesn't read. Okay.
Al Jackson
Not really. No. You. I feel like you're.
Jess Hooker
You're.
Al Jackson
You're hunting in the right place, though.
Chick McGee
It's just, you know, just think someone who's unhip. He's a lerp. Not intact.
Al Jackson
Absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
That's just a nerd.
Al Jackson
Yeah, just an old. It's an old school cool phrase. I don't know, it's funny because I actually used it around my girlfriend and she was like, what? I. It's weird that I broke out this slang from probably 30 years ago, but I. I said this guy on TV was a herb. Oh, I love that it was. Herb is just like. Just an oh. Like, that was probably most of my teens was just hearing people. Oh, he's a herb.
Chick McGee
Don't even worry about him.
Al Jackson
Like, and then it just went away. But that was a great one. It's not as good as scroll up. But like, herb was like, yeah, universally. And then it went away.
Jim Rome
Man.
Chick McGee
Scroll up is awesome. Yeah, that is. I mean, that is really precise and great.
Al Jackson
I could see that on T shirts. I could even see that being like a PowerPoint presentation that you go around giving to corporations. Like, is. Does your. Is your business lagging time to scroll.
Josh Arnold
Like, if you're being gaslit, you could you tell. Hey, hey, hey.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Scroll up. That's not how that went.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Really good app.
Al Jackson
It's so great. It could be used almost anywhere at any point. I mean, I. I rarely hear things I love. Like, I will use that.
Chick McGee
Yeah. The problem is you're not going to get any Royalties.
Jess Hooker
That's okay. Yeah, I know.
Josh Arnold
We all know.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Hey, we have it documented right here.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Well, that's cool on Al. You see, you're. You're not on the road, you're doing.
Al Jackson
Yeah, I'm in town for the next month. I'll look to see what I have coming up next week.
Josh Arnold
But.
Al Jackson
Yeah, I'm just in town. I got back from Alaska last week, did that. Did the cruise time. I went on the cruise a hater and came back a change man.
Chick McGee
Well, that's the one. Pat said that's the best one.
Pat Godwin
Which one?
Chick McGee
The Alaska cruise. Oh, that's fantastic.
Al Jackson
Yeah, it's fantastic. I had a great time. The. Your room guys just treat you with so much respect. It's like having the people at Chick Fil A taking care of your room. Like, they're nice and they're attentive and it just makes you feel. You feel cared for.
Chick McGee
See any moose? See any moose?
Al Jackson
Didn't see any moose, but took a. Took a helicopter to a glacier. Like, I stood on a glacier, bro. Drank some glacier water. Yeah, it was. It was wild.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Pat Godwin
It's beautiful too.
Al Jackson
Shout out to Alaska. What an interesting place. I can't believe. I can't believe, like, people live up there. Like, my girl has a cousin in Juneau. And just like talking to them about the lifestyle, like it's, you know, light until 11 o' clock at night. It's like an interesting. It's like the US but it's different. It's interesting.
Chick McGee
That's a great setup for a joke too. Where do you live? Juno? No, I don't know. That's why I'm asking you.
Pat Godwin
That's a great.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Josh Arnold
That's an old. Yeah, Juneau, the capital of Alaska.
Chick McGee
You know, we haven't done that.
Bob Kevoian
You need to shake the dust.
Al Jackson
Josh is not having anything today. Josh, I'm totally on your team. They left you out there. And I used to do that on DBL all the time. I'd be like, when I'm making a joke, I need you guys to not go to commercials silent and just make it sound like Al does not like kids that are in the hospital or something like that.
Bob Kevoian
There was an incident.
Chick McGee
I will say we've all been there.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
We've all done it. You take a big risk and you're hoping, okay, they're going to understand that I'm trying to be ironic here.
Bob Kevoian
Or nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Chick McGee
What I'm trying to say is the opposite of what I mean. And they just, you don't get it.
Josh Arnold
It's okay.
Bob Kevoian
It's like.
Chick McGee
It's like transcripts of comedy never funny.
Pat Godwin
Right?
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. In court, I'm in jail. Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Al Jackson
And the last word of that transcript is always you going. I don't have a problem with cancer survivors,
Bob Kevoian
Al.
Chick McGee
I may be seeing you sooner than you think. Looking forward to it. I always. Always a great pleasure, Al Jackson.
Josh Arnold
Ladies.
Chick McGee

And that would include, as far as I'm concerned, a fascinating monkey story. Loose monkeys in Florida. Oh, they're on.
Bob Kevoian
They're on.
Chick McGee
The lamb and also we have a bizarre goldfish story. That goldfish may be causing a big, big problem.
Josh Arnold
The snack food or the animal?
Chick McGee
A fair question. The critter. Oh, the critter. And we'll find out about that when we return to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom show.
Bob Kevoian
You put a little, you put a little stank on our guest name there. Baba J. Cox.
Chick McGee
Bobby J. Cox. You just can't help you emphasize the
Bobby Jacox
J. Yeah, sometimes I say gay. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Bobby J. Yeah, I bet you did
Josh Arnold
get Bobby gay a lot.
Chick McGee
And if there, if there isn't. If there isn't a porno star named Dick Gaycox. Yeah, I'll.
Josh Arnold
I'll Google that.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
How are you not like going through that? How are you not like a Navy SEAL or something?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, well, it was a firefighter.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, there you go.
Chick McGee
You're a badass. You're a cool guy.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, we're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. It's the Bob and Tom show. Jess Hooker at the news desk. Hello, there's Pat Godwin. Hello, there's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
There is a gay Cox artist. It's a female.
Al Jackson
Okay.
Bobby Jacox
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Is it like, is your first name.
Chick McGee
It's like gay New word. Cox.
Josh Arnold
Yep.
Bob Kevoian
Now that, that's a whole nother topic. The great names that the cross dressers use in their performances.
Josh Arnold
Oh, always funny.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Always tremendous.
Josh Arnold
Helena Hand basket.
Chick McGee
Do you remember the great story we had a few years ago? I think this must have been in the early days of AI Some organization had a. Had a computers program to remove the words gay.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
And replace it with. Yeah. And replace it with homosexual. And there was, I think a runner.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Chick McGee
Was it an NFL guy or something?
Bob Kevoian
Tyson Gay. And I forget, his last name was Dix D I X. Who he was running against and it turned into a mess. Yeah. Like the computer automatically Tyson homosexual
Josh Arnold
against Reginald penises.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Great stuff.
Bob Kevoian
It was great.
Chick McGee
Bobby Jacox. Jacox is one word. And I. By the way, your long hair reminds me me. There's a photograph of me when I'm 20 years old that we have posted.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
My.
Chick McGee
My niece just sent it to me. My sister had it. And I've got hair as long as yours. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So it's beautiful.
Josh Arnold
Bobby, are you single these days? What's going on?
Bobby Jacox
Yes, I am single.
Chick McGee
Yes.
Bobby Jacox
It's. It's hard to find someone I live because I usually like. I live in my car a lot because I'm on tour a lot. So it's very Hard to bring a lady back to your Honda Fit.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Jacox
Hey, if that car's shaking, I'm alone.
Chick McGee
Living in your car.
Pat Godwin
Car.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Do you run the AC at night?
Bobby Jacox
I. Yeah. When in the summertime. You have to. It's not safe, but. But neither is when all the windows are up and it's like that.
Chick McGee
Hot out or whatever.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Bobby Jacox
Yes.
Josh Arnold
But, I mean, it's what, two, three nights a week? The rest of the time.
Bobby Jacox
The rest of the time I'm in hotels or I'm staying in a friend's house or something like that. But. Yeah, in between cities and stuff, I'll find like a. Yeah, a cute little place to camp or whatever.
Chick McGee
If you had a place to stay. Tuned tonight. Ask around.
Jim Rome
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean, ask around?
Chick McGee
You thought I was gonna say. Yeah, I've got a. I've got room at my house.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Bobby Jacox
Call Al Jackson back, see if I can stay with him.
Chick McGee
Yeah, he's in Denver. You're gonna have to.
Bobby Jacox
Dang.
Pat Godwin
You're gonna have to.
Bobby Jacox
I can drive there.
Chick McGee
I don't have to drive.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Bobby Jacox is our former firefighter. Yes, I know. We just had a news story about air traffic travel. Well, kind of. It was about. They've recovered.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And that's not even true. They have found, I should say, the fuselage and the wings of an aircraft that crashed 75 years ago near, what was it, Puerto Rico.
Jess Hooker
But how did they. Did they just find it?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay. How did they just find it? And yet there were 12 survivors? Wouldn't they have.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
At the scene of the crash.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Where were the survivors?
Bobby Jacox
They know where.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Chick McGee
No, no. The plane is 2,000ft sunk. It's sunk.
Josh Arnold
So they.
Al Jackson
They.
Josh Arnold
But the survivors were floating.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Chick McGee
Yeah. And they. And the whole. The. There's going to be a.
Pat Godwin
The planes below them.
Josh Arnold
I think it's a fair question.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
The whole point of it is this is. It was after this particular accident because I think a dozen people lived and they. They explained to authorities that there was panic.
Bob Kevoian
You're not right. You're not fitting his narrative.
Jess Hooker
I know. Sorry.
Chick McGee
You'll see that I'm getting somewhere.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Chick McGee
Although it may be getting to a staffing meeting, I should say re. Staffing.
Bob Kevoian
What. What happens if I. I don't like it.
Chick McGee
The point is, the instructions you're given now when you get on a plane were started after this accident.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
And there's. I think there's going to be a TV special about finding this Thing. They found it with a. What do they call it?
Jess Hooker
Not a sonar drone.
Chick McGee
Sonar drone. Thank you. Oh, it's. It's pretty cool when you see these underwater things and all. Ever seen the Titanic ones? All of a sudden you see.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. It's kind of crazy.
Chick McGee
It's amazing.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Chick McGee
But are being a comedian, when you're not driving from place to place, I assume you fly all the time.
Bobby Jacox
Yes.
Chick McGee
And, yes.
Josh Arnold
You're a good flyer.
Bobby Jacox
I'm. I'm a great flyer. I get like. Because I. The first time I flew, I was 25. So anytime I get on a plane, I'm, like, looking out the window. I'm very excited to be there. I'm there early. I'm like, yeah. I'm the opposite of most people at an airport.
Al Jackson
Okay.
Chick McGee
Very energy. The chick and I are early arisers.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah. I like to get there early. I don't.
Bob Kevoian
Two and a half, three hours for a flight, baby.
Josh Arnold
Because it's not a terrible place to chill.
Chick McGee
Yeah, it's not bad.
Bob Kevoian
They've got food from one end of the bookstore, and it's every kind of person there.
Bobby Jacox
Like, I remember I was looking up and my flight got delayed, and I did that thing. I was like, g. And then I looked and I looked over and Weird Al Yankovic was walking toward me, so I got to, like, say hi to him. But I'm like, the airport, like, everyone's there. I'm with Josh. It's not a bad place. Everyone makes it seem. It's. It's got ac. All the food you could want. Like, it's fine. Yeah. I love. I love the airport.
Josh Arnold
Now, this is coming from somebody who lives in their car.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
So let's not.
Chick McGee
Yeah. I'm like, airport's incredible.
Bob Kevoian
But, Josh, you don't mind the airport? You don't like the plane?
Josh Arnold
I'm just physically uncomfortable on planes.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Josh Arnold
And it's not because I need a seat belt extension or anything like that. He looks surprised that I'm.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I know. Fight. Fighting back a little bit.
Jess Hooker
Do you remember the first time you were on a plane?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Okay. And I'm not. I'm not being funny or ageist here, but did they have restaurants and food and all of the things at the
Bob Kevoian
beginning they didn't at an airport? Yeah, barely.
Pat Godwin
Maybe a snack, maybe a newspaper.
Chick McGee
Nothing like it is now where you can buy.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Headphones and suit.
Bob Kevoian
Right.
Chick McGee
And some of them are insane. They have it now. Then I was stuck in the Eleuthera airport in the Bahamas.
Jess Hooker
That was a little different.
Chick McGee
Where they have nothing but like candy bars and hot water. But. Yeah, so. But airports are amazing now. Yeah, they're wonderful.
Jess Hooker
That's a plus.
Josh Arnold
But I just, I. And I also have an issue with. I'm very uncomfortable not being able just to get up if I want.
Bobby Jacox
Yeah. I hate it when you have to wake someone up. I feel. I feel so awkward. You don't know where I'm like, how do I. And excuse me.
Josh Arnold
I really feel like if the flight were under four hours, I would prefer a plane with no seats. Yeah, we just get to stand. I would rather hold on to something like I'm on a subway.
Bob Kevoian
That might be. Yeah, that might be.
Chick McGee
Well, they had talked about that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they talk about it.
Josh Arnold
I love it.
Chick McGee
I think for safety reasons they can't do it.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. And I get it. I just don't like.
Chick McGee
Now are you. I like to be in the aisle. How about you?
Josh Arnold
I'm a window seat guy because I just want to pass out.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I'm so miserable on a plane. I just knock me out and. And wake me when it's over.
Bob Kevoian
Wait, wake me up before you go. Go.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
They're very good.
Pat Godwin
Very good.
Josh Arnold
Very good.
Chick McGee
Now, Ms. Hooker, do you have another story over there of interest?
Jess Hooker
I do. A gut health brand called Let Loose has released a new pair of shoes that aim to make toilet troubles a thing of the past.
Bob Kevoian
Do we have a picture of these?
Jess Hooker
We talked about this, Pat. This is what I was telling you.
Pat Godwin
I know, I remember.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
The so called shoes resemble. I should. Pushed. I should. I didn't. I see it. I didn't. I t it. The so called
Pat Godwin
scroll up.
Josh Arnold
Oh, scroll up.
Chick McGee
Sorry. Damn. It would have been such a callback.
Jess Hooker
Resemble Disco era pumps. The 7 inch tall platform slides elevate the wearer's knees for optimal colon alignment and evacuation.
Josh Arnold
Oh, so they're like a squatty potty but they're shoes.
Chick McGee
Exactly.
Jess Hooker
Yes. And they do they look like something that Diana Ross.
Bob Kevoian
Or like Elton John in the pine.
Jess Hooker
Exactly. I know.
Josh Arnold
You have this weird idea that the reveal has to be at the. Perfect.
Chick McGee
There we go. Yeah. I mean it look.
Bobby Jacox
I don't like that it says let
Bob Kevoian
loose on the front of them.
Bobby Jacox
I don't like how obvious that is.
Chick McGee
Like, what are you about to do?
Jess Hooker
I told. I told Pat I want to get a pair of these for the office.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
The idea, it's just like as you mentioned, what it was called the squatty potty where it lifts your knees higher because it like.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, we're supposed to actually squat with our knees over above our hips when you evacuate.
Al Jackson
Right.
Jess Hooker
How you're supposed to be like you would.
Josh Arnold
If you lived in without plumbing.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
If you were going over a hole, what would be your squatting position?
Josh Arnold
I. I've had a ton of yes. You guys know. Tests recently. The last six months have just been meeting with gastroenterologists, doctors, all these people and they have all said. Said everyone should be using a squatty.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Josh Arnold
It's not just one of those.
Jess Hooker
And when you introduce someone to one, they're like, I. I don't know how I didn't.
Chick McGee
And the squatty potty, it's like a stool, right?
Jess Hooker
I mean, it is. And it's got.
Chick McGee
It goes in front, you know, you don't have to. It's not a separate toilet. It's just a.
Jess Hooker
No, no, it's not.
Chick McGee
It's like a foot. Footstool. Yeah, it is a footstep and it raises your knees.
Josh Arnold
So how are these easier or better?
Jess Hooker
I don't think that they are. I think they're just cashing in on
Chick McGee
the fact that they're sold out.
Jess Hooker
Kind of fun.
Bobby Jacox
And you can use. Can use it in public or whatever. Yeah, you can like go anywhere.
Jess Hooker
No, I have the collapsible squatty potty
Bob Kevoian
that you have one.
Josh Arnold
I have a regular non collapsible and then a collapse.
Jess Hooker
Well, these are. But these are two foot collapsible. So you can travel.
Chick McGee
It looks like for Kiss fans. It looks like Gene Simmons shoes.
Jess Hooker
It does.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So Gene can take a healthy dump right after a show.
Josh Arnold
The shoes, they're platform shoes.
Jess Hooker
They are. They're available in two sizes, small and large, and you can get a pair for $70.
Chick McGee
It says they're called. Called S word shoes.
Al Jackson
Right?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, we heard.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I got. They should have called him Hush poopies.
Josh Arnold
That's better.
Bob Kevoian
You know what else it is? It's cute.
Pat Godwin
Yeah. Yeah, that is much better.
Chick McGee
Or they could go the athletic shoe route and call them poo me.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, they could have poo.
Josh Arnold
Or even Nike's just poo it.
Jess Hooker
No. There you go.
Chick McGee
Oh, nice. Yeah, these are all good.
Josh Arnold
How were we not in these boardrooms? I don't know.
Chick McGee
I like a small percentage of the
Bob Kevoian
money on the table.
Chick McGee
So it's.
Jess Hooker
You want me to order a pair that would have. You're in the office, right?
Chick McGee
It says at the end of the article they are sold out right now.
Jess Hooker
Oh, no.
Josh Arnold
I would like.
Chick McGee
So that's a legit Thing I didn't know there was a collapsible squatty potty.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah, there is. But mine is not the whole squatty potty. So like you said, it's a foot stool with like a half circle cut out so that you can tuck it in and it'll go around the bowl. Right, right.
Chick McGee
Ask. Could you just make toilets shorter? Would that do it?
Jess Hooker
I know that that works too because Josh accidentally ordered a child sized toilet for his house.
Al Jackson
Right.
Josh Arnold
I was replacing a toilet and they sent me what was essentially a kid's toilet.
Chick McGee
Did you put it in?
Jess Hooker
No. So, Josh, I was getting ready to sell my house. I needed a new toilet. Didn't really care what size it was, installed it and luckily the people that bought my, my house had two small kids and, and they were adorable. They loved it. Yeah, it was, it was child size because if I sat on it, my knees were way over my hip flexion.
Josh Arnold
And you've had a better movement.
Jess Hooker
Oh, it was great. I'll talk about it more. Get Bob and Tom vip.
Chick McGee
By the way, we got something does that barefoot. By the way, we got something new going on. We've got a direct link to our email now. If you go to Bob and Tom.com find out about the VIP. Also check out John Jess Hooker's all new cooking segment.
Jess Hooker
Yep.
Chick McGee
But right now, slow down, take your time. We're going to take our time. You know why? Because that is the NHTSA sports desk.
Bob Kevoian
Magee. Thank you. And when you speed while driving, you have less time to react. That makes sense. A sharp turn, though, could take you by surprise if you're speeding, causing you to veer off the road. Another car could turn in front of you. A truck maybe break suddenly. How about a bicyclist could entering the road ahead and you miss it and your impact could send them to the hospital. How about a pedestrian out walking their door dog? You need to slow down. You may not think any of these things could happen to you, but you won't see them coming until they happen. When you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. And it only takes an instant for a disaster. The speed limit isn't just there to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and everyone sharing the road. So slow down, obey the law, Help keep everyone around you safe. Speeding does. Speeding catches up with you. Paid for by nhtsa.
Chick McGee
Thank you very much, Nitza. Now we've got more to get to. We're not done yet. Got some interesting things on the way and I want to. If you're interested in what happened earlier on the show. Is it. Is it?
Bob Kevoian
Scroll up, scroll up, scroll up, scroll up.
Chick McGee
That is strong. Really strong. You can scroll up and see what we did on the show show by visiting the Bob and Tom website. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Pat Godwin.
Pat Godwin
Hey, Chip.
Bob Kevoian
There you go. Hello, Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Jerk.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Ace Cosby.
Al Jackson
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
I am Chick Tom. We have a special guest.
Chick McGee
We're joined by comedian Bobby J. Cox.
Bob Kevoian
Yep.
Chick McGee
Jcox.
Josh Arnold
One word.
Chick McGee
Gotta get that. I gotta quit. We were talking about flying.
Bob Kevoian
Yep.
Chick McGee
You ever get in the plane and you're sitting in the exit row and they come up and they go, sir, are you willing to, you know, sit here and open the door if necessary?
Jim Rome
Sure.
Chick McGee
You ever notice if it's a really scrawny guy, you kind of want to go, could we vote on this?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
I'm not sure if a poindexter here can open this thing. If the point goes down, I'd like
Josh Arnold
to lying, by the way.
Bob Kevoian
Now, for all of your problems with an airplane, you jump at the chance to be in the exit row, is that right?
Josh Arnold
I do. And. And I mean it. When are you prepared to. Absolutely.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And you don't have some sort of.
Chick McGee
And there's extra. There's extra leg room in that seat.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
And you're gonna make some changes being in charge of the exit row there.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Pat Godwin
The whole.
Josh Arnold
The first half hour of the flight is me explaining to everyone next to me how this is gonna work.
Bob Kevoian
Now here's what I'm gonna do.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Keep your eyes on me.
Chick McGee
When that door opens, my ass hits the ground first.
Josh Arnold
I let them know, hey, when we crash, not if.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, you got to approach it that way.
Josh Arnold
You have to treat it that way.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I see.
Josh Arnold
No, I really do have a hero. I have kind of a hero complex of I am staying here until everyone else is off.
Pat Godwin
By the way, the slides look scary. I don't think I could go down the slide.
Josh Arnold
I really?
Bob Kevoian
My daughter used to be a flight attendant. She said the hardest part of training was standing there, crossing your arms and jumping into the slide. Slide. It's a counterintuitive. Just try and not hurt yourself.
Chick McGee
Oh, I'd do it, and I'd go, wee. It's awesome.
Jess Hooker
I want to do one of those blob things where I sit on one side and somebody else jumps on it and sends me through the lake.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Jim Rome
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Those are real fun. I have not done one either, but they're cool.
Jess Hooker
I want.
Bobby Jacox
That would be a crazy way to get off a plane.
Bob Kevoian
Like, you sit here.
Josh Arnold
Yes, you're right. Every water landing should be there.
Bob Kevoian
Shoot her right out of the boat. Play.
Chick McGee
Wow. Now, today's a special day in contemporary culture. Is that correct?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. July 23rd is officially known as Gorgeous Grandma Day.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
Oh. The day encourages all women to flaunt their granny attitudes and embrace their age. Created in 1984 by Alice Solomon, the holiday honors women of a certain age, whether they are grandmothers or not.
Al Jackson
Oh.
Josh Arnold
Oh, all right.
Jess Hooker
Grandmother titles.
Chick McGee
This is interesting.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, there's a.
Bob Kevoian
There's so many.
Jess Hooker
Let's go around. What did you. What did you call your grandma?
Bob Kevoian
Nicknames for Grandma.
Josh Arnold
It's not fun. Grandma Starkey and Grandma Arnold.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Yeah, Yeah. I had. I had a Grandma Phyllis. I had a Grandma Phyllis and a Nana. What did you.
Pat Godwin
Mimo.
Jess Hooker
Mimo.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jess Hooker
What about you?
Bobby Jacox
I'm with Josh.
Bob Kevoian
Just both.
Bobby Jacox
Grandma. There was nothing special. I tried Meemaw.
Chick McGee
They hated it.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I'm not that old. I had Grandma, which was my mom's mom.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And I called my dad's mom her first name, Lena.
Al Jackson
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
I always did. I never called her grandmother. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Meemaw. You had a Meemaw.
Chick McGee
Mine were both dead. Thanks for asking.
Jess Hooker
We know.
Pat Godwin
Yeah. That's why we.
Bob Kevoian
Grandfather Thomas Griswold iii. Oh, no. The first.
Jess Hooker
You know, the new thing is for grandparents, mostly grandmothers, to announce when the baby is born what they are going to be called.
Josh Arnold
My mom did that.
Jess Hooker
She did.
Josh Arnold
And I. I wasn't sure if it was fair or not.
Jess Hooker
I don't think it is fair.
Josh Arnold
She goes, I'm Nana. And none of the kids. The kids weren't old enough to even speak right. But she had decided, I'm gonna be Nana, because that's what she called her.
Chick McGee
I think that's the way to go.
Josh Arnold
You do? I think the kid.
Pat Godwin
I think the kids should choose.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. There's some grandmas insist on becoming Gigi.
Chick McGee
That's Big.
Jess Hooker
That's a big one. So classic traditional names for grandmothers are Grandma, Nana, Grammy, Granny, sure. Southern and regional classics include Mama, Meemaw, mom, mom, and Mimi.
Bob Kevoian
You sound ridiculous.
Chick McGee
No, I. I've heard. I have heard Mimi and I have heard Meemaw. Absolutely.
Bobby Jacox
You know, crazy is I actually have a young grandma. And she told me at a baseball game, I go, grandma. She goes, don't call me Grandma. So then I had to be. I was like, Kathy. Like, like, she was like. She was so young.
Josh Arnold
What were you supposed to call her?
Bobby Jacox
She. That's what I said. I go, do you call her. She's like just Kathy in public. Like, so for a short amount of time, she was like, just call me Kathy. I think that's weirdest thing to be.
Chick McGee
True that the young.
Jess Hooker
That's how it evolved.
Chick McGee
It's true that the younger the gorgeous grandma is, the more white trash she's likely to be.
Bobby Jacox
In my case, a little bit. Yeah, she's a. She's a bud light drinker.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
We just learned something about. We learned that's called Hill's Law, where the narrator teaches you more about themselves than what they're talking about.
Bob Kevoian
Tom's Law.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Who's Hill?
Jess Hooker
Modern trendy and sassy names. Gigi, Glamour, Lovey and gmal.
Chick McGee
All right, all right. Interesting, interesting. Well, thanks so much for joining us. Bobby Jacox, by the way, St. Charles, Missouri, July 30 through August 2 at the Funny Bone. And then the butcher tent at the gathering of the Juggalos August 20th.
Josh Arnold
Oh, nice.
Bobby Jacox
Yes.
Chick McGee
Good luck.
Jim Rome
Whoop.
Pat Godwin
Everybody.
Bob Kevoian
Wow.
Chick McGee
There's a. There's a hell gig if ever there was one. So excited.
Bobby Jacox
I'm gonna sign up for the rap battle. I'm signing. I'm gonna win 300 bucks.
Josh Arnold
I'm so excited.
Chick McGee
