Bob Kevoian
just can't get enough.

Chick McGee
so true.
Tom Griswold
So then he got hit in the bull.
Chick McGee
Ouch.
Tom Griswold
That'll wake you up.
Augie Smith
Good.
Tom Griswold
Good morning from the O'Reilly Auto Parts studio, it's the Bob and Tom Show. Jess H. At the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Pat Godwin.
Peter Frampton
Hey, Chick.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Josh Arnold.
Pat Godwin
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick Magee at the NHTSA sports desk. Do not speed. Slow down. You move too fast. Hello, Tom. Hello. Thanks for joining us.
Josh Arnold
You got to make the morning last.
Bob Kevoian
Ah, very good. A pat. Looking very festive today.
Show Announcer
Summer.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I had kind of a Hawaiian type thing.
Tom Griswold
Boy, it is summer, right? Well, geometric shapes.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Do you like a chick?
Tom Griswold
Me?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I do not.
Jess Hooker
Mid century modern to me.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Could be.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know what that means, but yeah. It's a nice shirt, though.
Tom Griswold
Maybe a real estate agent in Florida.
Jess Hooker
It's like an architecture.
Chick McGee
It's Goodwill, Aisle three.
Tom Griswold
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, good. Now, coming up, your letters of many are fascinating. A bunch of great guests today, including Peter Frampton.
Show Announcer
Yay.
Bob Kevoian
I got a chance to listen to his new collection, his new album, Yesterday.
Tom Griswold
Very good.
Bob Kevoian
God, there's some great guitars. And also we'll be joined by Drew Powell. He's part of a movie being made right now. Of interest, if you ever saw the movie Breaking Away. Great movie. Probably. I don't know, what is it, 40 plus years old. But they're doing kind of a. Not a. Not a sequel, but another version of a story about that particular famed bicycle
Tom Griswold
event breaking back in.
Bob Kevoian
In Bloomington, involving the ladies. So we'll find out about that coming up. Very exciting. And once again, I wanted to pick up where we left off yesterday. Just briefly, we were talking about. Yesterday officially was Gorgeous Grandma Day. And it has been that since 1984.
Tom Griswold
What is that?
Jess Hooker
Right?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, it's one of those official days
Tom Griswold
that had no idea.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. But the, The. The point is, it's celebrating grandmas. What was interesting to me was. And I never. I mean, I have technically grandparents. I never met them. They were deceased. Both my grandmothers were deceased when I was. By the time I was born, but so I didn't have the option of calling, you know, Nana, Meemaw, whatever. We kind of went around the horn here and there. There are some interesting names. And obviously Grandma, Nana, Grammy, Granny, Meemaw, G Dog, who knows, Mimi, Very popular. Gigi. But I guess a lot of folks now are deciding, declaring.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it's like a birth announcement. It's like a grandparent announcement. This is my name. Remember?
Josh Arnold
My grandma told us all to call her Silver. Bu. We didn't picture that.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I can see that would be rough.
Josh Arnold
We asked her.
Tom Griswold
You didn't know what it was that. Now you look back.
Drew Powell
Yeah.
Show Announcer
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, man, I wish we hadn't called my grandma Silver.
Bob Kevoian
Well, she was in the Rockettes in the panty free days.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah. It was pre code.
Bob Kevoian
Do you.
Tom Griswold
Are you aware if you have a hot grandma. Are you aware, Right. Your grandma's hot.
Josh Arnold
Do you think she's. Can you. Can you separate yourself enough to know that she's hot?
Tom Griswold
Because I know. I don't think you can with your mom.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tom Griswold
But maybe your grandma. You're enough. Removed.
Bob Kevoian
Or aunt. I made the point that if you
Tom Griswold
have a sexy aunt.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe if you. There's a correlation between having a really young, gorgeous grandmother and. And your level of white trashness.
Jess Hooker
Yes. Teenage pregnancy.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Show Announcer
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I would say there is some sort of, you know, when you're socioeconomic. Yes, we are. When you're.
Bob Kevoian
When you're 28 and you have a grandchild. You know, just. I'm just saying, typically, that would be. Which happens.
Tom Griswold
That doesn't. That doesn't speak to planning at all.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Which is fine. Whatever. But I was just wondering. We kind of went around the horn. What did you call your grandmother again?
Tom Griswold
Grandma. That was my mom's mom and my dad's mom. Her name was Helena, and I called her Lena.
Bob Kevoian
Nice.
Tom Griswold
Never. Never. Grandma. Never.
Bob Kevoian
Patty. G. Grandpa.
Chick McGee
Me. Mo.
Bob Kevoian
Mimo. Yeah, okay.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
That's. That's in. That's on the list, actually.
Tom Griswold
Mimo. You straight?
Bob Kevoian
Ms. Hooker?
Jess Hooker
We had Nana and Grandma Phyllis. Kind of boring.
Josh Arnold
Grandma Starkey and Grandma Arnold.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay.
Tom Griswold
So that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that's sort of. Kind of delineates who's who.
Tom Griswold
Ringo Starkey was your grandma. That's crazy.
Josh Arnold
Ringo Starkey apparently is like a fourth
Tom Griswold
cousin or something of some strange man.
Drew Powell
It.
Tom Griswold
It's. You should be curious enough to engage a lawyer and see if you can cash in on some of that.
Josh Arnold
Oh, man.
Tom Griswold
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
I'm sure Ringo would love to.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Throw some money your way. Now, we do have a letter.
Show Announcer
Oh.
Bob Kevoian
First of all, congratulations to Nick for deciding that we should play Trauma to the groin in honor of that baseball injury earlier this week in which the. The hitter had to have his. One of his testicles.
Tom Griswold
He found the ball.
Bob Kevoian
Rebuilt.
Tom Griswold
Fouled the ball right into his left testicle. Or was it the right? I'm not sure.
Bob Kevoian
One of them. One of them went down. He's out for a couple weeks. One of our letters, I want to get right to it. It's from Brett. He goes, I have an unusual grandparent name. My daughter calls my dad. When my daughter was born, I asked my father what he wanted to be called as a grandparent. He said, grandmaster.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's good.
Bob Kevoian
I took this to heart. When my daughter learned to speak, I told her to refer to him as Grandmaster Lee. To this day. She's 14 now. She only refers to my dad as such.
Josh Arnold
Good one.
Tom Griswold
I'm just remembering this now. I have always wanted my grandchildren to call me the Governor.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
So, you know, we. Do you know anybody who'll buy us beer? The Governor will get us a beer. Go call the Governor. See what. Yeah, you know, that'd be kind of cool, right?
Bob Kevoian
That's a good one.
Tom Griswold
Governor.
Jess Hooker
My kids have a strange name for my dad. It's Grandpa Tony. Because his name is David.
Tom Griswold
Right. Okay.
Josh Arnold
I like it.
Bob Kevoian
You want to run that by me again?
Jess Hooker
I don't.
Chick McGee
They.
Jess Hooker
They associated somebody else with my dad, and they thought and, yeah, so they called him Tony and they called him Grapple Toad.
Bob Kevoian
How does he feel about them?
Jess Hooker
They still call him. I mean, they don't really. They're adults now, but. Yeah, he didn't care. He thought it was funny.
Josh Arnold
That is funny.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. They call my mom Grandma Crazy because I jokingly said it when my son was learning to talk.
Drew Powell
Oh.
Jess Hooker
And it stuck.
Bob Kevoian
No. In all truth, how much? Were you kidding?
Jess Hooker
Not at all.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. That's what I have. Since that. That might be.
Jess Hooker
No jokes.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. So isn't there a. Some kind of a thing now, like you say, people, they'll send out a memo.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. It's like a Facebook post, like, yeah, my grandchild has arrived. And this is what. This is what she's gonna call me. Yeah. This is what my grandkids are going to call me.
Bob Kevoian
And this article seems to indicate that it's getting more and more away from Grandma and Nana.
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I know someone who just became a grandparent and she's going by Lolly.
Bob Kevoian
I like that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I had an Aunt Lolly, but. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Nope.
Tom Griswold
No, no, no, you don't.
Josh Arnold
Good. You know why? There's a second part to that.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, wait.
Jess Hooker
How do you want me to tell you the rest of it?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, the pop part.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Papa.
Jess Hooker
Oh, well, it's. It's. She's gonna go by Lolly, and then the grandpa is gonna go by Papa Pop.
Josh Arnold
Nope.
Jess Hooker
And so it's Lollipop.
Bob Kevoian
I'm out. I see. Sorry, Josh.
Josh Arnold
No, no apology necessary.
Bob Kevoian
It's my children. Call Kelly's mom and dad Papa and Nana.
Josh Arnold
And do those things happen naturally. Yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
They should call Papa and Umamau.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, the great lollipop. The great song by the Rivingtons of, of course.
Tom Griswold
Lollipop, lollipop, lollipop.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, you want that.
Chick McGee
What happened over there?
Bob Kevoian
You want that dreadful song? My boy Lollipop.
Josh Arnold
No, no, he wants. I thought you want Lollipop, Lollipop.
Tom Griswold
Oh, lollipop, lollipop.
Bob Kevoian
What is that?
Josh Arnold
Oh, you don't remember that one?
Chick McGee
Just the best song of all time.
Tom Griswold
Big time hit. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And then it had, like, a resurgence because of Stand By Me. They sing it and as they're walking
Bob Kevoian
and walking down the river.
Tom Griswold
Yep, you're right.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, how about this one? Oh, sorry. That's some Steve Ali. Thank you, Steve. Sorry.
Josh Arnold
All of a sudden, I was drunk in a hotel.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Trying to get the.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. This is no good.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, this is. This is a vomit inducing vocal.
Tom Griswold
Strong.
Chick McGee
It's annoying.
Josh Arnold
Wayne Newton.
Drew Powell
Help.
Tom Griswold
I really Thought it was pants are real time.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, God, that's just.
Chick McGee
Aw.
Josh Arnold
I would like it, though, if a girl called me her sugar dandy. Oh, that's kind of nice.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, that's better than Sugar Daddy.
Bob Kevoian
I've been close.
Josh Arnold
Yes. Sugar daddy would suggest I have a coffee air, maybe.
Bob Kevoian
Sorry, just kidding. By the way, my boy Lollipop, a big hit by.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, that's not. That's not that song.
Bob Kevoian
Millie Small.
Tom Griswold
That's a different lollipop.
Bob Kevoian
God, that is dreadful, though.
Jess Hooker
That's rough.
Tom Griswold
It's with the in it.
Bob Kevoian
I don't remember that.
Tom Griswold
When you hear it, you'll remember.
Josh Arnold
Those really are, like, the only lyrics.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And I, I. Yesterday I went out on a limb and I declared one of the most overrated foods is the banana split. Not good. Wrong with the pineapple one is awful.
Tom Griswold
You're pro banana split.
Jess Hooker
Pro banana.
Bob Kevoian
Let me continue. No, no. I also would say that when you're a kid, you think nothing would be better than one of those giant lollipops. They're awful.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You know the one the size of a frisbee on a stick? You take one of those, finally get one, and you go, this is not good.
Tom Griswold
You take one of those on it. You need a commitment out of somebody if they're going to do that.
Bob Kevoian
They're not good.
Josh Arnold
I think banana splits are good, but they're never as good as you think they're going to be.
Jess Hooker
No, that is. That should be. That should be a table dessert. Everyone gets a bit.
Peter Frampton
Eats.
Josh Arnold
I don't like any dessert that's shareable. Who does?
Bob Kevoian
No, but.
Pat Godwin
No, I do.
Bob Kevoian
Who's gonna eat the part with the pineapple on it?
Jess Hooker
I do. That's my favorite part. I like the chocolate and the pineapple together.
Chick McGee
Oh.
Josh Arnold
Oh, this is fascinating. I'm. I am happy to hear. This is the first person I've ever heard say.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I would. I would get rid of the strawberry. Half chocolate, half pineapple.
Josh Arnold
Really interesting.
Bob Kevoian
Wait a minute now. When you get Neapolitan ice cream, in what order do you eat the.
Jess Hooker
I eat all of them at the same time.
Bob Kevoian
That's wrong. I'm sorry. This.
Jess Hooker
I want a little taste.
Bob Kevoian
This is the influence of liberal.
Tom Griswold
Here, here.
Bob Kevoian
Liberal politics on food.
Jess Hooker
I have a drive in near my house that I can walk to, and I'm going to go get the pineapple and chocolate banana split this weekend.
Tom Griswold
You like pineapple dunkin? Dunkin chocolate with chocolate soft ice cream?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it is soft serve.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. No, I just think it's Overrated. Do they sell many of those?
Jess Hooker
I don't know. You know what? I'll ask them when I, when I walk up to the. It's a walk up and you order and you stand out there and you wait.
Josh Arnold
I love that. I love the summertime only ice cream joints.
Jess Hooker
Frosty boy.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, there are many people who don't pay enough for their hard work. Teachers for example. But also people that work at ice cream shops. Yes, that is such a tough gig.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And especially when you get there and they come up and they've got, you know, six booger eating kids and they. He wants to try the bubble gum. Oh God. They have to pass out those little sticks those people need. That should be tax free income. I'm Talking to you, Mr. President.
Tom Griswold
Have you ever, have you ever been for. You just can't stand it anymore. And they're still tasting. And orange.
Bob Kevoian
Come on.
Tom Griswold
Never done that. Come on, order something.
Bob Kevoian
I do think there should be a separate line for example at Starbucks for adults that want just coffee. As soon as you see the kids, about four or five kids in front of you, go get ready for the blender.
Tom Griswold
I was going to say that.
Josh Arnold
We're going to.
Bob Kevoian
We're going to be here for a while.
Chick McGee
Did you guys have the dusty Road?
Josh Arnold
No.
Tom Griswold
No.
Chick McGee
Malt malt palate powder on like chocolate and a banana.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay.
Chick McGee
That I liked.
Jess Hooker
No.
Bob Kevoian
And now do you call sprinkles Jimmy's?
Josh Arnold
Were you that east coast?
Jess Hooker
No.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Tom Griswold
No.
Zachary Spicer
Really?
Chick McGee
Sprinkles, I think.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What I thought that would be 10
Josh Arnold
miles away from the line, right?
Chick McGee
Yeah, it was sprinkled.
Bob Kevoian
Would you like to see a metal. When they're doing those political maps, wouldn't it be funny if they cut away and out for a break? Here's where they call them sprinkles. Here's where they call them Hardee's. Here's where they go.
Josh Arnold
Here's where inline becomes online.
Tom Griswold
And here's the pop soda line. Yes, I'll have a soda.
Bob Kevoian
Very, very interesting. As you can tell our program, we'd like to dig into the deep topics.
Tom Griswold
It's a mess. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
But I would vote down the banana split.
Jess Hooker
Sorry, I haven't had one this season yet. I need to. Yeah, I'm gonna go.
Bob Kevoian
And again, I am looking forward to a. This new state fair thing that every state fair always has some cool stuff. Now there's always the deep fried whatever. And apparently this, this summer it's going to be a butter dipped ice cream
Jess Hooker
cone that's the big one.
Bob Kevoian
Counting the days. Now, before we move on, I want to check in with Mr. McGee.

Peter Frampton
Lima.
Jess Hooker
How do you say where's the restroom in Spanish?
Bob Kevoian
Donde esta el bano?
Jess Hooker
Hey, Meta, Is a hot dog a sandwich?
Bob Kevoian
Technically, no. Spiritually, yes.
Tom Griswold

Bob Kevoian

Tom Griswold
Oh.
Jess Hooker
Because I'm going to be serving you guys something a little from the grill. No, it's not from the grill.
Bob Kevoian
Why are you going dessert?
Jess Hooker
Cuz I don't know how you guys are going to feel about it.
Josh Arnold
Have you tried, you tried it? Yeah.
Jess Hooker
There's a raw egg involved.
Josh Arnold
Okay, that's all right with me.
Jess Hooker
It's fresh though. It's, it's straight from, yeah, straight from the shoot.
Tom Griswold
Right. Straight from the chicken days.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you.
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So we have something to try at some point this morning. So. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Well we'll look forward to that. Once again, check it out at, at bob and tom.com.
Tom Griswold
when you were a kid and watching cooking shows, didn't it just amaze you that they would put the entree into the oven and then, and let's see what it looks like now. And boom, there it was all done. I had no idea how they were.
Josh Arnold
We need to get one of those super stoves. Yes.
Tom Griswold
You put it in and you yank it out. Done in seconds.
Jess Hooker
I did learn that the prep for a cooking show is about twice as long as the actual cooking show.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. You know what I'm trying to master and I, I'd like to know if any of you guys have the one handed egg crack.
Tom Griswold
I, I dabble, to be honest. I've, I, my hands aren't, my hands are wide, but they're not long enough. I think you need to have, maybe that's my issue.
Josh Arnold
I don't, I don't Necessarily have long hands.
Tom Griswold
Tom could. Pro is a great one handed egg cracker. If you'd want to.
Bob Kevoian
I can do it usually.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What I usually do is I will crack eggs into a, like a little small little pitcher so I can then pour them gracefully onto the. If I'm making fried eggs.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Tom Griswold
What did you say? Yeah, you depend on the word gracefully when you're cooking.
Bob Kevoian
You're not. Because eggs are delicate. I don't want the yolk to break. Break, sure.
Josh Arnold
Not especially a fried egg.
Drew Powell
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Or a poached egg.
Tom Griswold
How do you feel about folding? There's a lot of folding in that hoity toity cooking. You fold,
Jess Hooker
you incorporate.
Tom Griswold
Fold and incorporate.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, gracefully. And if radio were a poker game, I'd be folding this conversation.
Tom Griswold
All right, message received.
Bob Kevoian
I have a very unusual letter I wanted to get to. All right, sir, for Josh. I'm not sure how to take this. Josh, of course you are an avid fisherman.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I like to angle.
Bob Kevoian
And this, this letter comes to us from Zach.
Josh Arnold
Hi, Zach.
Bob Kevoian
He said a question from Mr. Arnold. Would you consider for your final wish to be cremated and have your remains turned into a fishing lure? If so, would it be a crankbait, a jerkbait, swim bait, or plastic worm?
Drew Powell
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I mentioned this as my last wish to my wife. Her look of disapproval was astonishing. So this guy wants to be cremated and turned into some kind of a fishing lure.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I wonder what kind of fishing lure he wants to be turned into.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, he does. He hasn't revealed that I'm going crankbait. No, I don't know what that means.
Josh Arnold
It's a hard plastic. Usually it has a square bill or even sometimes a rounded bill and all this stuff. And you. It's called a crankbait because you just crank it right back to you. It's just a simple throw out and a steady retrieve. Well, you can do.
Bob Kevoian
Does it look like a fish?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, a lot of times they do. And there can be different colors. I'm gonna go with a sexy shad crank bait.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah. Now how many of those could they make out of your cremated remains?
Josh Arnold
Oh, I don't know how many cremated are. Let's say. Would my cremated remains fill this coffee cup?
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
What?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Overflowing. Three, Three or four times over.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, so maybe three. Oh, geez. I mean, you're going to get a good, I'm going to say two dozen crankbaits out of that.
Bob Kevoian
Now I wonder if there's a place that I know there. There are places that do everything. I Wonder if there's a place that'll make your cremated remains into a fishing.
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
This could be a new business for somebody.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Well, there you go. A simple question, and we have a good answer. Thank you very much. I would say your cremator remains about the size of a tennis can. Is that.
Tom Griswold
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. Shoebox.
Bob Kevoian
Shoebox.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. My Eddie Gerk was a little bigger than a tennis cansworth.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, well, she was a. A slight woman. Is that. There you go. Yeah, there you go.
Josh Arnold
My dad was cremated, but we did not. I didn't see the remains. I saw the canister it was in.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I guess it was about a thermos size.
Jess Hooker
I saw the bag, and that was. And it was like half of a gallon bag. Does that sound right? Oh, yeah, about that much. Yeah. That last. The last remains I saw.
Julian Frampton
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Well, now, on a brighter note, do you have any other topic to bring up?
Tom Griswold
Dear Bomb and Tom Show. You'll know what the topic they're referring to as I continue. My gym teacher, my first year in high school would do what he called jock checks almost every day.
Jess Hooker
Man.
Tom Griswold
This process consisted of him standing at the locker room door having all the male students show that they were wearing a jock strap or had a cup. This means if you didn't normally wear one, you would have to change into a jock strap or a cup right in front of the teacher. To this day, I still wonder if this was actually wholesome and out of concern for the students. Well, being in their testicles or somebody was enjoying something, or both, possibly.
Bob Kevoian
We had a cup check thing you would never heard. You would line up and he would take a stick and wrap you in the groin. Yeah, absolutely.
Jess Hooker
I've heard of that.
Bob Kevoian
And obviously, as soon as it was coming, if someone didn't have one, they would immediately go get one, right?
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
But the guys would do it in the halls, too.
Jess Hooker
Yes, exactly. The football team. The guys would do it to each other, just say cup check in the middle of the hall, and they just
Josh Arnold
tap each other in the nuts.
Jess Hooker
Or bag tag.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tom Griswold
I remember. I vividly remember. Back tag. I don't remember. Cupcheck. Yeah. Wow.
Bob Kevoian
I've got another great letter here. We were talking about. About the swimming and the importance of learning to swim and that we got on the topic because we were talking about back in the day, the YMCAs. They were just for men, and there were no swimsuits. At many of them, you just swam naked, which is so weird. In retrospect. But we had a letter about the. The elder George Bush. President Bush.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Tom Griswold
A Yaley.
Bob Kevoian
He was at Yale University. And they. They required that you have to be able to swim to graduate. I was in a similar situation when I was in college. You had to be able to swim to graduate. The guy that lived next door to me senior year actually switched places with his roommate because he didn't want to learn how to swim. He was from Queens. Queens, greater New York, and had never learned how to swim.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
So when you'd go for the swim test, they'd ask what your Social Security number was, so no way. So his roommate had written it on his hand, and then his. His roommate.
Josh Arnold
Oh, wow.
Bob Kevoian
Because this was like.
Tom Griswold
When did it click in that? This is all to identify the body.
Bob Kevoian
No, this is the funny part, was it was. It was about, I don't know, two months before graduation. And you had. You had to be able to swim. So his roommate goes to take the swim test. They offer the swim test. You just go in then and check.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Anyways, his roommate dives in the pool and starts swimming. And then he realizes, wait a minute, I can't be this good at this. I've got to look like I'm half drowning. So then he kind of slowed it down. This letter somewhat similar. Dear Bob and Tom Show. Writes David, longtime listener dating back to the early 90s. You've been talking about swimming. I wanted to tell you about my dad. He was in the United States Navy and never learned how to swim. During boot camp in the late. In the late 40s, he convinced a buddy to take his swimming test for him. In return, my dad covered his buddy's guard duty that day. I guess verifying who was who wasn't so strict back then because it was like they were in McHale's navy. See this guy? This guy knows my sweet spot.
Tom Griswold
He sure does. Oh, I never thought I'd say this about a pickup solo. A flute. That's harsh.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, now they bring in the big horns pack pretty soon.
Julian Frampton
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
What do we put right there?
Jess Hooker
That's.
Bob Kevoian
That's the great scene. The great theme song to McHale's Navy starring Ernest Borgnine. What a great show. Gruber on that show. The great Carl Ballantyne. Tim Conway.
Tom Griswold
His face lights up.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, God, so good. By the way, my father made it through four years in the Navy. Honorably discharged, never learned how to swim. Well, thank you, David. I certainly appreciate that. Chick McGee, what do you got?
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob and Tom show, it seems there has Been a larger than usual amount of analysis on Tom's eccentricities as of late, which I've enjoyed immensely, by the way. This is from Carl, but they call him Bubby. In honor of this, can you please play the segment of the first time Tom met Augie Smith on the show? You guys, the first time you played it, it was unbelievably hilarious. I swore it was scripted, but I later found out it was total, all impromptu. Thanks for all you do. Your show makes life better. Well, thank you, Bobby. I appreciate that. We appreciate it.
Bob Kevoian
That'd be a nice slogan.
Drew Powell
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Although the. Our show makes life better. Is it the FTC that would come say, we had to prove it. We'll have to dig up the Auggie Smith segment. Yeah, yeah, that was true. You know the backstory on that. At the time, this studio was in a different part of the building, and it was right down the hall from the other studio.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, there's.
Bob Kevoian
There was another.
Tom Griswold
Another radio, another morning show.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
We got along with them. Okay. And they had. They had an intern. You got me.
Julian Frampton
I don't even know.
Bob Kevoian
I don't even know who they are anymore. They had an intern that was a complete idiot.
Jess Hooker
Oh, it wasn't me.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Jess Hooker
Okay, good. Because I was there. Intern, total.
Bob Kevoian
And she. I was in the hallway, and she said, well, we had this comedian. He wasn't funny at all. Okay. That means he must have been hilarious. So I invited. No, I invited him down the hall.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I didn't know that's how that happened.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it turned out to be Augie.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. And we had. And there was no. None of the usual, hey, give me some topics. What do you want to talk about? What's your. I didn't. I had never set eyes on him before.
Jess Hooker
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
And that's what happened. When we come back, we will feature that and what's coming up in sports.
Tom Griswold
By the way, the Los Angeles Dodgers were at the White House yesterday. Fernando Mendoza, the number one draft pick in the NFL, all signed, sealed, and delivered. He took care of that yesterday.
Bob Kevoian
I love the phrase, by the way. Guaranteed money.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Could we have that in regular life for everybody else? Well, could that happen?
Tom Griswold
Possibly. There's another Manning at quarterback. We'll talk about Mr. Arch Manning there in Austin, in Texas. And Mark Cuban is buying stuff. I'll tell you what and where. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
All right. Well, thank you very much, Cubes. Now, I want to tell you about a little bit about weight loss. Trying to lose some weight. How about some serious weight loss? Takelean.com Also coming up, some really cool stuff in the news. Did you by chance see the video that has been circulating about the orca
Tom Griswold
ramming another fish?
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The orca ramming a fish and the fish explodes. And they've got a really odd explanation for this. They think it may be that the orcs are doing this just for fun.
Tom Griswold
It's a game. Oh, it's a game to them.
Bob Kevoian
Remember, remember the story we had not too long ago about the orcas that were putting the sunfish on their heads and so on their foreheads and swimming around?
Tom Griswold
Like when they go, when they go to orca parties, they start instead of a lampshade, they put another fish on their head.
Bob Kevoian
Fascinating creatures. But a really cool story coming up about, about the orca also. I hope we get to it. We have emotional support. Chickens in the news.
Tom Griswold
Excellent.
Bob Kevoian
And for Ms. Hooker, we have a dessert that's gonna get somebody in trouble because it features ants, not sprinkles, but the critters, ants. We'll tell you about all that from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Show Announcer
Thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Catch any part of the show you missed. Later Today on our YouTube channel, Jim Rome takes on sports.
Bob Kevoian
I will always have a complicated relationship with this game, but people evolve. So do sports. Do not make me regret this dog. Do not make me devolve back to that guy that so many clones wish that I still was. And do not embarrass the entire country. Now I can go back. I can get there fast. Lose tonight, and you got a real problem. Do not blow it.

Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Pat Godwin.
Chick McGee
Hey, Chick.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh Arnold.
Chick McGee
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Ace Cosby.
Jess Hooker
Howdy.
Tom Griswold
I'm Chick. And hello, Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Hello, Chick Magee. We just had a letter from someone requesting the audio from the first visit by one comedian, Augie Smith. And again, by way of background, Augie was visiting another radio station in the building. I did not know him, did not know they had a visitor. And then the intern from that radio show I ran into in the hallway, and she told me that he was a terrible guest and wasn't at all funny based on her idiocy. I knew that whatever she was, whatever she was saying, the opposite was true. So I said, well, send down Dean. And said to Dean, go get this guy. I want to meet him. So he walks in the room. I've had no, I've never met him before, know nothing about him. And, well, here's what happened. Augie Smith is our guest from Montana. Do you ride horses and stuff?
Augie Smith
Oh, yeah. That's. Oh, yeah. I was. I was a gunfighter when I was younger. We all were in Montana. I remember riding away and a small child yelling, come back, Aug. Come back.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Augie Smith
But my destiny was out there.
Bob Kevoian
Is that why you're wearing all black and stuff?
Augie Smith
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I was a gunfighter. I was a gunfighter.
Augie Smith
I wasn't always a gun. My family owned the general store for a while, and that wasn't the life for me.
Bob Kevoian
Was your mom named Miss Kitty or something?
Augie Smith
She was the school mom.
Tom Griswold
He found out that you were from Billings, Montana, so naturally you ride.
Augie Smith
What I'm talking about is freedom, people Montana represents. You go to California, swear to God. It's illegal to smoke cigarettes in bars and taverns. I see. I don't know. Now smoking is bad for you, but who's concerned about their health in a bar? What's the complaint on this one? Excuse me, Mr. Bartender Man, I am trying to get drunk. So I can drive home and have unprotected sex with some chick I just met tonight, and this guy's blowing smoke in my face. John met in Montana. They'll shoot you with their cigarettes. I believe that we should abolish all bar laws in America. I believe in America, the land of the free, there should be no laws in bars. And if you don't like living under no laws, then don't go to the bar. For example, I don't like Bed, Bath and Beyond. I don't like what goes on at Bed, Bath and Beyond. You know what I do about it? That's right. I don't go there. I don't picket Bed, Bath and Beyond. I don't put Bed, Bath and Beyond in an Axis of Evil with Kitchen Caboodle and the Baby Gap. The Bed, Bath and Beyond should have to be 500 yards from elementary school. I just don't go to Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Bob Kevoian
I like Bed, Bath and Beyond. Doggy, I'm a divorce guy. I need them.
Augie Smith
And I'm okay with you going back.
Peter Frampton
Thank you.
Augie Smith
And I'm even okay with you smoking there.
Bob Kevoian
You know why?
Augie Smith
Because I don't go there.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you. Augie Smith in the early days. He remains a terrific comedian.
Jess Hooker
So good.
Bob Kevoian
He was a part of our Comedy Central special down the Road. But, yeah, that's what happens when I have no preparation. So you're from Montana. I assume that you lasso.
Chick McGee
Lasso.
Tom Griswold
Lasso. Lasso.
Bob Kevoian
Speaking of that, this is actually kind of a nice tie in. This comes to us from Custer, South Dakota. When I was a Custer Wildcat football player, we were instructed to pee on our feet to thwart athlete's foot.
Tom Griswold
Is that right?
Bob Kevoian
I am not kidding. This is from John. Of course, that led to some peeing on another. I, by the way, don't believe that treatment ever worked. I know. I'd never heard that.
Jess Hooker
I've heard that for jellyfish sting.
Bob Kevoian
Yes, I know. And we. We had. That is not. Yes, that is out there. But it doesn't work.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it doesn't?
Zachary Spicer
Really?
Bob Kevoian
No, it's been debunked. Yeah. Yeah, it's been debunked. And by the way, whoever thought of that? What kind of perv.
Jess Hooker
Yes. Hey.
Bob Kevoian
Finally an opportunity for me to urinate
Jess Hooker
all over, and I get to do it on the beach.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, God.
Tom Griswold
But it's. It's. It's perfect, though. People are gonna. And there's enough people saying, oh, it works to keep it going.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, there are a lot of.
Tom Griswold
Really give it a shot.
Bob Kevoian
A lot of really bad ideas in the history of pseudo medicine. The good thing is, in contemporary culture, they're all coming back.
Tom Griswold
Let's run her up the plate, Flag pole, see if it's. We can salute it.
Bob Kevoian
Just go to the Internet for your medical advice and you'll get all kinds of bad stuff. By the way, he says, chick, that World War II series is on PBS. Apparently it's also on Apple. Right. On Apple TV.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. I don't know how I got it, but, yeah, I pushed a button and
Chick McGee
watched one last time.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, it was great.
Bob Kevoian
He goes, there's also a series on machines. Oh, I see. Machines that change the course of history. Oh, yeah, it's a great chick. I think you'll like it. That's a Good one then. P.S. jess, if you have some tomatoes, please send them to me in Custer, South Dakota. We won't be seeing fresh tomatoes for another couple of weeks. I can't wait.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
If you can help me invent a fresh tomato that we can have year round, we'll all be rich. I love you, Jess. You're such a doll. Isn't that.
Jess Hooker
Oh, that's very nice. Thank you.
Bob Kevoian
Now, you got some fresh tomatoes, is that correct?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I. I pick them up at the farmer's market on Wednesdays. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Nice.
Jess Hooker
With some other produce.
Bob Kevoian
Have you had any good sweet corn yet?
Jess Hooker
I have not. I have not. Have you guys?
Tom Griswold
I had some a couple nights ago. Pretty good.
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I mean, from, you know, a standard grocery store. Real good.
Jess Hooker
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, we bought some and I haven't had a chance to have it yet, so. So. And I did this. Nothing is better than a great tomato in season.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
If you ask me, so. Well, thank you for the kind words, John. Now, we have another thing we had a news story about. The essence of it was a food truck is no longer permitted on state property in Indiana because the slow. What was the slogan again?
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Tom Griswold
You'll love our meat in your mouth
Bob Kevoian
or something like that.
Jess Hooker
I also learned that the lady who oversees that, the. The lady that went to them and said, hey, you've got to move. You can't be here anymore. Her last name is Woodcock.
Bob Kevoian
Like, yeah.
Jess Hooker
You think she'd have a little bit of an open mind, you know what I mean, about things like that?
Bob Kevoian
Sure, I would think so.
Show Announcer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
This is from Ron and Phoenix. Iran, you were talking about company slogans. There's a company that makes a very eclectic donut set called Voodoo Donuts. Anyone ever heard of that? I have heard of in Oregon, large orders are packaged in their signature pink boxes with the slogan good things come in pink boxes.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Bob Kevoian
That could be read many ways.
Jess Hooker
Many.
Tom Griswold
Are they trying to slip something biased there?
Bob Kevoian
Thank you very much, Ron. And Ron also has a long letter coaching me on how to not spill things all over my area. There may be issues that I have with coasters, etc.
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob at Tom Show. Hello, radio friends. This is from Adam in Grand Rapids. I thought I would share that I found a new way to experience summer camps as an adult since my days of school camp and Boy Scout camp with my my friends in Michigan is now over. A few years ago, I started volunteering on South Manitou island in Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Bob Kevoian
Been there. I've walked around South Manitou a few weekends. The entire, the entire, you know, there's a wreck, there's a shipwreck right offshore there.
Jess Hooker
I did not know that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, very cool.
Tom Griswold
I was there for several days to help out and during an evening I was looking over the titles as one does when one goes to a. I wonder what they have on the dvd. What's the DVD climate? I'm on the bookshelf looking at the titles and lo and behold, I find Bob and Tom Comedy Tour Live Event DVD Volume 1.
Peter Frampton
All right.
Tom Griswold
Starring Mike Armstrong, Greg Hahn, Drew hastings, Roy Wood Jr. And Bob Zany. It made a great weekend. Even better. Thanks for all the laughs.
Jess Hooker
Nice.
Tom Griswold
Thank you, Adam.
Bob Kevoian
Well, that's kind of a nice time. Coming up, we've got some sporting news for you. We have opened up the the drawer full of baloney sandwich suggestions.
Jess Hooker
Oh, no.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, there are a lot of them. I think some of them are pretty good.
Show Announcer
Really?
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Some, some alternative ways to prepare a quality baloney sandwich that is coming up among many other fun things, including orcas in the news in a big way. And a cool world record from Chick Magee over that at the NHTSA sports desk. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

Augie Smith
Hello.
Tom Griswold
She's at the news desk. Hello, Pat Godwin.
Julian Frampton
Hello.
Tom Griswold
He's at the music desk. There's Josh Arnold looking great over there.
Josh Arnold
Chickster.
Tom Griswold
Thank you. Right back at you. There's Ace Cosby Hello. Hello. Hello. I'm Chick at the NHTSA sports desk. Tom has some sort of. He's acting like he just gotten his hair cut and there's some hair under his shirt.
Josh Arnold
You having that feeling he's shaking his.
Bob Kevoian
I don't know.
Tom Griswold
Shirt out.
Bob Kevoian
I was. I gotta button a couple of these.
Josh Arnold
Isn't it funny that is an un. How uncomfortable that sensation is of the.
Tom Griswold
There's nothing worse.
Josh Arnold
The cut hair on your shoulders.
Bob Kevoian
When you get a haircut, don't you go home and take a shower and change clothes?
Jess Hooker
No, you take. You take a change of clothes with you to. When you get your haircut.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's interesting.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
Like, I take at least a shirt.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Josh Arnold
I typically plan it so that I can do what Tom said is I don't have anything after my haircut. I can go home now.
Bob Kevoian
We're thinking with me is my dogs have the same color hair that I do.
Josh Arnold
Well, that's good, though. You can always blame the dog.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, but. Yeah, that's true.
Tom Griswold
I was going to say, do you still have that sensation of having hair under your shirt even though already.
Bob Kevoian
How witty.
Josh Arnold
Watching back to the photo for you yesterday.
Bob Kevoian
Pardon me?
Josh Arnold
Now you're flashing back to the photo from yesterday.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, your. Your picture.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. A picture of me with long hair. That picture is. I was 20 years old.
Josh Arnold
I. I do occasionally get phantom hair pains.
Tom Griswold
Oh, really?
Josh Arnold
Hey, who's pulling my hair? And then I look. Oh, no, there's not.
Tom Griswold
I put the picture of me and you, Tom, up on my Instagram and twin sons of different mothers. It looks like we're. We're releasing a new album.
Bob Kevoian
When was that picture? Take it.
Tom Griswold
Just me in early mid-80s and you from. From Columbia in 70. Whatever.
Josh Arnold
Cool.
Jess Hooker
Oh, side by side by side.
Bob Kevoian
I see.
Tom Griswold
It looks like an album cover. Really?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, nice. Now we have to go through your letters. By the way, a new way to access us is@bobatime.com we've got a little thing you can click on and immediately send us your thoughts. A lot of letters about bologna sandwiches. I want to go. I want to go off topic for just a second. Meatloaf sandwiches. Do you fry up the meatloaf or do you eat it col.
Drew Powell
Cold?
Jess Hooker
I don't eat meatloaf sandwiches.
Tom Griswold
No kidding.
Jess Hooker
I have. I have bread and butter on the side of my meatloaf, but I'm not leftover meatloaf sandwich.
Tom Griswold
No cold meatloaf.
Jess Hooker
No cold meatloaf, no sandwich.
Josh Arnold
I'll do cold or I'll microwave it. I haven't tried frying it.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, that's the way to crisp it up. I like crisp up the meatloaf.
Tom Griswold
You put it in the microwave, slap a piece of extra sharp cheddar on there and put it on a sandal. A brioche bun.
Jess Hooker
I hate how you eat.
Tom Griswold
And there. And there you have it. Well, it's no wonder. I can barely make it up and down the hall. I don't hold these things dear. What? What's happening?
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom Show. Yes, this comes to us from the Yo. Which is Youngstown, Ohio.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I hadn't heard that.
Tom Griswold
They call Youngstown the Yo.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I didn't know that.
Bob Kevoian
Joe from the Yo.
Tom Griswold
You think I know that?
Bob Kevoian
He goes the Youngstown way to make a fried bologna sandwich. You cut the bologna half an inch thick, char and brown both sides. Put it on a thick toasted. Oh, Italian bread. Melted provolone with hot peppers. Oh, this is very nice. There are several bars and restaurants in Youngstown where you can get a sandwich this way.
Tom Griswold
Oh, by the way, Tom, next time
Bob Kevoian
you come to the yo, we'll seek you out and get you some sandwiches.
Tom Griswold
You're embarrassing yourself. Josh will back me up on this. It's Italian restaurant. Oh, I see.
Josh Arnold
You really got to hit that.
Tom Griswold
I. They like it that way.
Bob Kevoian
Dear Bob and Tom show, Tom is right. In construction, we refer to it as a man door.
Tom Griswold
A man door.
Bob Kevoian
Once again, I called it the human door. The garage door between my garage and my house.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
To distinguish it from the one that the cars can go through, there seems to be a. And then someone has put a sign on one of the doors here that says the. The human door. We also had an interesting news story about the lumberjack competition. Remember this?
Jess Hooker
No.
Josh Arnold
Wasn't it technically a lumberjill competition?
Bob Kevoian
Yes, that. Well, I was just gonna say that.
Tom Griswold
That is. That is. That is really hot, right?
Josh Arnold
I think it is hot.
Tom Griswold
Lumberjills.
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Flannel shirts.
Bob Kevoian
I was saying how incredibly dangerous it is. This comes to us from Wesley. He is a professional lumberjack competitor. By the way, in the chopping events, we wear chain mail socks and shin guards to protect our feet, I guess. Chainmail socks. Do you suppose anybody wears those as a fashion statement? That's one of those weird things that would catch on briefly among, like, listeners of a certain genre of music. And again, he's wearing chainmail socks. Likes that emo.
Tom Griswold
He's kind of a badass. Don't mess with him.
Bob Kevoian
By the way, with the chain mail socks. And guards. If you hit your foot, you might break some bones, but you won't get cut.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, they're doing stuff, so if you watch these things, they're pretty amazing.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Powerful axes.
Tom Griswold
If you're wearing chain mail socks, do you have to size up for your shoes?
Josh Arnold
Right, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Chain mail or how does that work?
Bob Kevoian
I would assume that the shoes are also.
Tom Griswold
I can't be comfy walking around on chain mail.
Bob Kevoian
I assume that the shoes have metal toes or something.
Tom Griswold
The seal toes, sure.
Bob Kevoian
Wouldn't you wanna. You don't want to take an ax to the foot.
Tom Griswold
We have that picture, me and you, Tom, from another century releasing our album. There we are.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that is funny. Yeah, man.
Josh Arnold
Have you heard the new twin sons of different mothers?
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, they're unbelievable.
Josh Arnold
That track, track number four, rocks.
Tom Griswold
We started out a tribute to Dan Fogelberg and Tim Weisberg, but we just. We decided to do our own as
Josh Arnold
soon as you guys found your own voices. That was the. Yeah, that's right.
Bob Kevoian
That picture is really funny. You look like you're 12.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, I know, I know. Well, you don't. Well, you've got that 70s gaunt look. I like that.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Tom, you actually look like Diane Keaton.
Tom Griswold
A little bit. A little bit.
Josh Arnold
Thanks, Jess. Now I have an erection.
Tom Griswold
Is a woman. Damn funny.
Bob Kevoian
Have you. We can put. Where is that found?
Tom Griswold
On your. The Chick McGee and all the Bob and Tom socials. I'm sure by now.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
The fried bologna letters. Continue. I'm surprised you guys don't know the proper way to make a sandwich. Caramelized onions.
Josh Arnold
I like the.
Tom Griswold
I like this guy.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
He knows what he wants right away.
Julian Frampton
Right away.
Bob Kevoian
You're doing it wrong.
Tom Griswold
I love that.
Bob Kevoian
Caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, mustard on toasted bread.
Josh Arnold
All sounds good.
Drew Powell
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Also a fresh slice of tomato if you're in the mood. Try it. You'll love it.
Tom Griswold
If you're not doing this, you're doing it wrong.
Bob Kevoian
Johnny in North Carolina, VIP member. Thank you, Johnny.
Jess Hooker
Check out.
Bob Kevoian
Check out the vip, by the way, by going to the all new Bob and Tom west website, where you can. We're linked. Right. Right to it. Dear Bob and Tom show, I'm Ben from Northern Indiana live on. Oh, Lake Wawesi. Every Sunday morning they have something called the Thunder Run. Between 10 and 20 wooden boats go around the lake. Everybody goes out in their piers and waves at the boat.
Tom Griswold
That's cool.
Jess Hooker
Every Sunday.
Bob Kevoian
Nothing like the sound of.
Jess Hooker
I've been on that, like, multiple times and it's Very cool to sit there with your coffee and watch all the.
Tom Griswold
Like, how many? 10, 20? Oh, half a dozen.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, maybe. No, like. Like two dozen. There's a lot.
Tom Griswold
There's a bunch.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, there's a bunch. Very cool.
Bob Kevoian
Sound of the Chris Crafts going by. Beautiful wooden boat.
Jess Hooker
And the smell, all of it so good.
Bob Kevoian
And I'm sure you're out there with your coffee. There's probably a couple guys on docks with that. That hair of the dog special.
Josh Arnold
Irish coffee.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Tom Griswold
No, no, no. You know what they've got. They've got their Irish coffee and their binoculars, and they're. They're checking out Jess over there on. On her deck. That's what they're doing. Because anybody. Anybody who lives on the lake has a pair of binoculars.
Bob Kevoian
I think this is. I do. I think you do.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Don't you dare.
Jess Hooker
No, I did.
Bob Kevoian
This is the first time.
Jess Hooker
This is the first time I'm hearing this conversation.
Bob Kevoian
They were asking me.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Because when I. Every summer I grew up on a lake.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
On Lake Michigan. And we had binoculars.
Jess Hooker
We did, too.
Bob Kevoian
I know. Dr. Kingsley, he had one of those ones on the tripod that you could.
Jess Hooker
Very cool.
Bob Kevoian
You could actually see the guys walking on the moon. I mean, these were nice binoculars, but.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I have binoculars. I have binoculars hanging by my door right now.
Julian Frampton
Really?
Jess Hooker
At my house.
Josh Arnold
What's that for? Why?
Jess Hooker
I'm a nosy neighbor.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Jess Hooker
There's a tree line in my backyard, and there's lots of pretty birds, and that's usually what it is. There's a groundhog that is just wreaking havoc on our. Our family right now. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
So groundhog trouble.
Josh Arnold
But I know.
Bob Kevoian
I think it's a truism. If you live on a lake, you typically have.
Jess Hooker
We always had. Yes. Sorry, guys.
Josh Arnold
Not everybody.
Jess Hooker
Not everybody.
Bob Kevoian
Most people.
Josh Arnold
I don't even know a majority. I don't know that that's true.
Bob Kevoian
If you don't work, you ask your ass to move.
Chick McGee
Right.
Josh Arnold
Right. Some neighborhoods you have.
Bob Kevoian
You want to look at cool boats, you want to look at the weather coming in.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I can see it all. I don't know.
Jess Hooker
What, you don't like binoculars?
Josh Arnold
I have nothing against binoculars, per se. I don't need them at. On my dock. I don't need them at a lake house.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Josh Arnold
At all.
Bob Kevoian
When you're fishing, you don't want to look and see what they're doing over there?
Josh Arnold
No, there's nothing. When I'm fishing, I'm not looking at.
Tom Griswold
What am I looking at what they're doing over there.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Well, how many times a day, average day at a lake house? You and the binoculars. How many. How many times do you pick them up and look through?
Bob Kevoian
Every once in a while they were on a post. When you'd first walk into the cottage, they were on a post on a hook right there hanging with a leather strap. They were. I think they were like Zeiss icon or something.
Josh Arnold
When I'm at the lake, I'm not dreaming about what's going on over there. I'm living right here in the moment.
Tom Griswold
That's what you're supposed to be doing, right?
Bob Kevoian
I have that written on watching masturbatory videos.
Tom Griswold
Masturbatory.
Bob Kevoian
If that isn't a word, I just made a one.
Tom Griswold
I like it. You're welcome. Coming up in sports, visit to the White House yesterday by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Man Mendoza is bought, sealed and all wrapped up. Real purdy for the Las Vegas Raiders and other stuff.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, I want to close off the Baloney hunk. All right. Dear Bob and Tom show writes Tom from Connecticut.
Josh Arnold
That sounds like a very gay move, by the way. I'm going to go close off the baloney hunk.
Tom Griswold
Are you now remember, are all the doors locked?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Are the lights out? Close off the.
Josh Arnold
Hey, look, you can come in, but I was just about to close off the baloney, so you'll have to be wait out here for a second.
Tom Griswold
Well, then you can come to bed.
Bob Kevoian
If you can't find me, I'll be behind the COVID
Tom Griswold
That's exactly right.
Bob Kevoian
You guys, again, the. The arrogance. This is the only way to do it.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
White bread, bologna, American cheese, mustard and peanut butter.
Tom Griswold
Oh.
Josh Arnold
I mean, but this person knows it's not the only way to do it.
Tom Griswold
You know, they're just.
Josh Arnold
That's just how they. They're saying it's better.
Bob Kevoian
Connecticut style. That's very Connecticut style.
Tom Griswold
In cafeteria. 6th. 7th. 8th grade, they had chili and they always served a peanut butter sandwich.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
With the chili. Did you have that?
Bob Kevoian
No, but I bet that.
Jess Hooker
Standard. Yeah, you're right.
Josh Arnold
Regionally standard.
Tom Griswold
Yes. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
And a cinnamon roll. We always had a cinnamon roll on chili day.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Tom Griswold
Interesting.
Bob Kevoian
Would you do a day where would you do. For me, just for nostalgic for my dad.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Peanut butter and bacon sandwiches.
Augie Smith
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, we can definitely.
Josh Arnold
What kind of bread? Like toast or.
Bob Kevoian
Typically he would have it on either white or wheat.
Josh Arnold
Was it toasted or just out of the bag?
Bob Kevoian
Toasted.
Peter Frampton
Oh, okay.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah. Peanut butter.
Jess Hooker
Was your dad Elvis Peanut butter and Bacon.
Bob Kevoian
My dad was so far from being Elvis. This is a true story. We actually were up in Harbor Springs at the cottage where at the time they had two TV stations. Barely to get the one station, you had to walk up to the TV and hold the rabbit ears. I'm not kidding. But Dennis Beauchamp with the news,
Augie Smith
the
Bob Kevoian
TV was on and my dad was watching the news and it was they announcing the sad death of Elvis Presley. And my dad goes, oh, that boy died. That just shows my dad was born in.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Bob Kevoian
1916, so. Or 17.
Tom Griswold
But really, 1917.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. But I mean, just for him, the perception that no, Elvis was this young kid that he. That, you know, that his eldest daughter had been a fan of. Yeah, it's kind of cool.
Show Announcer
Anyway.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Peanut butter and bacon, please.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Yeah, we could definitely do in honor
Bob Kevoian
of Bruce G. I'd love that. Now. Coming up, also today, very excited, Peter Frampton has a new record out there that he worked on with his son Julian, who's also a terrific musician. Peter's one of our favorite people. And I had a chance to listen to most of it yesterday and I'm trying to, during the breaks, listen to a couple more pieces of it also. Actor Drew Powell is part of a new project, a movie that is being filmed in Bloomington, Indiana over the course of the next couple of weeks. And we'll look forward to having Drew stop by right now. Homeowners, pay attention. Another. Another rough report yesterday on inflation.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, all you homeowners, pay attention.
Bob Kevoian
Yikes. If you're looking to grab some cash out of that house of yours, that's worth a lot more than it was when you bought it. You don't have to sell it. A chick was telling me about his friend that had. How long had he owned the house?
Tom Griswold
10 years, pretty close to that. Tripled his money when he sold it.
Bob Kevoian
And I'm not asking you to sell your house. I'm just saying if you want to get some of the equity out of that. One of the things that you might be interested in is talking to American Financing. If you're owned your house for about five years, it's probably worth 30, 40% more. It depends obviously, on your situation. Every situation is different. But American Financing specializes in doing a refi where they can get things organized in such a way that you can take advantage of that equity and get yourself a check, maybe pay off those high interest credit cards, et cetera, et cetera. They say their average right now, 800 bucks a month in savings for their average client on that mortgage. Payment. So see if this would work for you and your family. Check out American Financing. They have folks on standby. In about 10 minutes, they can tell you if this might work for you. There's no upfront fee involved. The details can be found@American financing.net Please do American financing.net BobandTom so they know that we sent you. And once again, they have salaried employees that'll walk you through this in just a few minutes, actually. So find out what I'm talking about by visiting american financing.net nmls182334 nmlsconsumeraccess.org average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.

There's Pat Godwin. Hello. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Hi. There's Ace Cosby. Hello, indeed. I'm Chick. And here's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
You know, Pat hasn't had to do much the last three or four weeks. Mostly it's just been suffering. I'm talking about us suffering. Listening to Pat, I apologize, complain about his incredible pain. Having surgery. Pat had major surgery.
Tom Griswold
I haven't heard much about it.
Bob Kevoian
It's like his shoulder gave childbirth without medication. Anyways, you can't play guitar yet.
Tom Griswold
That'd be weird if babies came out of your armpit. Wow. Right?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that would be. Sure would be odd. What's that goiter? Oh, she's knocked up.
Tom Griswold
Oh, hey. Okay.
Bob Kevoian
In any event, Pat, I thought this is an opportunity for you to actually sing. I know you can't play guitar, so I took the liberty of taking the great instrumental version of this by. Well, he can by Steve Ali.
Tom Griswold
He can play guitar, but he's injured, so he can't play. Now you made it sound like he can't ever play guitar.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think I did. But that point is, we had an interesting thing yesterday. It was officially a Gorgeous Grandma day, as declared in 1984 by Ms. Alice Solomon, honoring women of a certain age who happen to be grandparents. Although there are grandparents who are in their 20s. Just, you know, that, that just happens,
Tom Griswold
you know, great grandparents in their 40s.
Bob Kevoian
Sure, but, but the, the larger point here is let's. We are addressing the elderly grandparents right now for the purposes of this song. And, and by the way, gorgeous Grand Monday. Much more appealing than the term guilf.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I disagree.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I like gilf.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I like guilf. I like milf. I like dilf.
Josh Arnold
Because gils don't have to be gorgeous. They just have to put off a certain vibe that'.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I've said it before. I'll say it again. Enthusiasm makes up for a lot.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I see. Well, that's what this song is about, in fact. Pat, you ready?
Drew Powell
I am.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. Ladies and gentlemen, the man who currently is featured on the Dry Bar Comedy Special, which you can watch this weekend, go to drybar.com it's Patty Godwin. P A D D y. Patty Godwin. Mr. Pat Godwin.
Tom Griswold
Patty McGodwin. Patty Page.
Bob Kevoian
And it's a special. What's the word I'm looking for? Cursing Free alcohol free presentation. Pat, you ready?
Chick McGee
Yeah, Girl. The food was great. The company even better. Why sit her all night long Going on about the weather? I know it's our first date and good girls got away But I just turned 83 and you said you're 70. Hey. I'm gonna kill you.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. This is live.
Chick McGee
Come on, the moon is full. You know what I'm thinking? Let's make love we're old and we're shrinking the hours late let's just do it all now
Augie Smith
oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
Unhook your girdle and take off that face let's crawl into bed Cut to the chest, it'll be just great let's do it on our first day
Pat Godwin
I
Chick McGee
took Viagra an hour ago Put your teeth in a jaw by the bed Looky here who's poking out and waking from the dead point I want you right now so don't give me no left it's too late for your hyman But I might break your hair the hour is l let's get to it on our first day Our first date oh yeah. The hell with arthritis, arterial thrombosis, acute angina and your hollow toss this suit of the gray let's do it on another day we're too old to worry about moving so fast so if your ER and depends I'll just hose off your ass I may have Alzheimer's and repeat myself I may have Alzheimer's I repeat myself Good girls wait ol broad swing you can take off your clothes Cause I can't see a thing the hour is lit let's do it on our first date I may have Alzheimer's and repeat myself I may have Alzheimer's and repeat I may actually have Alzheimer's and Repeat myself. I may have of Alzheimer's and repeat myself. First date. You guys have been great.
Bob Kevoian
Patty G. And a great, great arrangement by Steve Ali.
Josh Arnold
I'm going for the joke. Old Broad Swing. They sure do, don't they?
Bob Kevoian
And that song swings, man. That is. That is the most awesome arrangement.
Tom Griswold
I like the hose off your ass. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Every once in a while, Steve Take takes the big band out. And if you ever get a chance, see Steve Ali in the big band. And Steve's got a bunch of new projects coming up, so he's also. You know, the weird thing about him, besides being unbelievably talented and incredibly modest, he's like the nicest guy on earth.
Josh Arnold
It's really.
Bob Kevoian
Wouldn't it be nice if he had a. If he was a. If he was a real dick. But no, he's also a great guy.
Tom Griswold
That's weird that you guys are from the Man. Yeah, I know.
Peter Frampton
It's amazing.
Chick McGee
No, he does not.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Nothing.
Chick McGee
Nothing.
Josh Arnold
No flaws at all, sir.
Bob Kevoian
He's unbelievable.
Josh Arnold
Well, he does hang out with us.
Bob Kevoian
Well, not in public. You ever noticed that?
Tom Griswold
I just love that.
Bob Kevoian
That one transition with the horns.
Chick McGee
But yeah, he's a genius.
Bob Kevoian
So nice. What a song. Celebrating grandma's out there.
Tom Griswold
Gil. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Again, gorgeous grandma days. Much more classy.
Chick McGee
I go feel the big note and Josh Arnold is goofing on me.
Bob Kevoian
What were you doing?
Josh Arnold
Well, before the song he had suggested, he. I think he was worried I wasn't going to pay attention. And I get why.
Chick McGee
You've heard it a million times.
Josh Arnold
I can't why.
Peter Frampton
But.
Josh Arnold
So while he was singing, I grabbed a magazine and pretended to be reading to try to.
Bob Kevoian
Which magazine was it? Anal Biker.
Pat Godwin
What's the one?
Chick McGee
But that was my. That was my showy moment. I hold the note so long.
Bob Kevoian
It's a Cosmopolitan.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, there you go.
Josh Arnold
Look, one of the headlines on this Cosmopolitan.
Tom Griswold
What are women doing wrong now?
Josh Arnold
Psychics. Celeb drama.
Jess Hooker
Huh?
Tom Griswold
Oh, wow.
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
But a chick nailed it, though. I mean, that magazine is just designed to make you feel inadequate.
Josh Arnold
Is it? I. I mean, I. That makes sense, but I've never looked at it.
Jess Hooker
Oh. It starts with Seventeen magazine and Teen Beat and all of them. Yeah, they get in our heads early.
Chick McGee
Now, my favorite Josh joke, when I
Bob Kevoian
perform by the voice in the headline there. Doctors say you shouldn't eat food.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Food bad for you.
Josh Arnold
You're ugly. Nothing will help.
Julian Frampton
Help.
Josh Arnold
Isn't that something?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. They must have a new editor.
Jess Hooker
They come right nailing it. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Pat, you Were saying my favorite Josh
Chick McGee
joke when I perform is, I'll start, he'll take his headphones off that I giggle. I screw up the opening line, but that makes me laugh every time.
Bob Kevoian
Very nice. Now talking now. Are you ready for Sporting News?
Tom Griswold
Well, hell yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Anything interesting?
Josh Arnold
The jukebox is off.
Tom Griswold
Actually, we need to revisit Lollipop. We were talking about how grandmothers and grandfathers prefer to be. It's almost like a birth announcement. Boy or girl? And they also say, well, being grandparent, I want to be referred to as.
Bob Kevoian
Well, there's so many. Meemaw, Granny, Nana. There's a whole bunch of them.
Tom Griswold
But in justice case, they have a grandma named Lolly.
Jess Hooker
And these people I know. Yes. Or the grandma goes by Lolly.
Bob Kevoian
And does the grandpa agree to go by Pop or Papa?
Jess Hooker
No, he does not.
Bob Kevoian
Oh. Oh, that was the.
Zachary Spicer
That was the.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Who does this? The cordette.
Josh Arnold
Remember? The cordettes?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. That's a song.
Josh Arnold
You admit, though, this is better than My Boy Lollipop.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it is better than My Boy Lollipop.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Let me give you a little taste.
Tom Griswold
Do you like My Boy Lollipop?
Bob Kevoian
No, I hate it.
Show Announcer
But here you go.
Chick McGee
Whoa.
Josh Arnold
No one. It's better.
Bob Kevoian
No, that's.
Tom Griswold
My gosh. I think I like that better than the Cordo.
Chick McGee
What?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, they're both deeply terrible.
Tom Griswold
Not deeply.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, no, no. They're awful.
Josh Arnold
What about the lollipop reference and $0.50 candy shop?
Augie Smith
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I haven't heard that.
Josh Arnold
I lick you like a lollipop.
Chick McGee
Oh,
Tom Griswold
yeah. Licking lollipops. Tom, you ever do any of that?
Bob Kevoian
Now, this all started when I said that the most overrated foods are A, banana splits. They're awful. And B, those giant lollipops. Every kid wants one, you get one, and they're terrible.
Jess Hooker
Well, yeah, The. The. The flavors that come together in that aren't good.
Tom Griswold
Banana splits sure are popular for.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think they are.
Tom Griswold
No one like.
Josh Arnold
I think they're good. They're just not what you. They're not as good.
Bob Kevoian
I'd like to see some numbers from Dairy Queen. I don't think they're very popular.
Josh Arnold
I bet they're a high margin item.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah? Guess how much I got in that. Nine cents. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
What about the Good Ship Lollipop? Do you guys like that song?
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I forgot about that guy.
Josh Arnold
Shirley Temple.
Tom Griswold
Did you find Shirley Temple attractive?
Bob Kevoian
Not at all.
Jess Hooker
Don't do that.
Josh Arnold
No, no. When she was in the 80s.
Bob Kevoian
Oh. When she was an ambassador to, I
Tom Griswold
think, the Mickey Rooney Mickey Rooney movie she made.
Bob Kevoian
But she did it right. She was a great child actress. And then she switches. Switches gears and becomes a. A brilliant ambassador.
Josh Arnold
Well, she could. Because she could afford it with all those drink royal royalties.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Bob Kevoian
She gets the taste.
Josh Arnold
Oh, every show she gets six cents.
Tom Griswold
Well, she has to have a taste.
Bob Kevoian
Does Arnold Palmer get any money?
Josh Arnold
His estate does, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
From the Arnold Palmer beverage?
Josh Arnold
Well, from that and Magnum, apparently.
Tom Griswold
I heard somebody sent us an email. I didn't read it the other day. That the Arnold Palmer is lemonade and iced tea.
Jess Hooker
But there's a. There is a branded one now, too. It's not just like the mix.
Tom Griswold
A guy was telling me a lemon iced tea and orange juice is now a thing.
Josh Arnold
Ah.
Tom Griswold
I. He doesn't have a name for it, but maybe. Maybe O.J. or something.
Jess Hooker
There's also lemonade, iced tea and vodka. And that's a John Daly.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, that's the joke there. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay. All right.
Bob Kevoian
But yeah, we were. I'm down talking with John. John Feinstein about arnold Palmer, because Mr. Palmer, who was a great American. American and a distinguished.
Tom Griswold
Certainly is. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, he's a great.
Tom Griswold
He was responsible for the space program.
Julian Frampton
He's.
Bob Kevoian
No, he was a great man. Absolutely. But were you afraid he was afraid
Tom Griswold
of the Arnold Palmer?
Bob Kevoian
No, no, I'm not afraid. I did. I, I had an experience with him. He was a great guy.
Tom Griswold
The.
Bob Kevoian
He was on. Purported to have a. Be very gifted. Let's just say his, His. His driver.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Was.
Bob Kevoian
Was quite.
Jess Hooker
He gives that vibe. I could see that was quite a
Bob Kevoian
wood, if you will. Yeah, yeah. But I had that verified by someone who actually witnessed it in the locker room with me.
Tom Griswold
You're skeptical about so many things.
Josh Arnold
Well, the president had come out and said it and everybody was like, what is that about? And then we asked John Feinstein. Tom asked John Feinstein.
Bob Kevoian
He said, yeah, Mr. Trump had obviously an avid golfer and he had witnessed. What was the context.
Josh Arnold
I think it was the only thing John and Mr. Trump ever agreed upon.
Bob Kevoian
I would know something.
Josh Arnold
Correct.
Bob Kevoian
That is true.
Tom Griswold
And speaking of President Trump, he celebrated with the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday in the White House. That's in Washington, D.C. oh, for now. He called the.
Bob Kevoian
I hear they want to move it to Florida.
Tom Griswold
President called the team one of the great brands anywhere in the world. Yesterday's event marked the Dodgers second consecutive World Series win. That's the way it works. You win, you go to the White House. They beat Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 last November. Trump expressed excitement about meeting Shohei Ohtani and compared Shohei to Babe Ruth. The Dodgers gave Trump a jersey and a replica World Series ring.
Josh Arnold
Does it always take place in the middle of the next season?
Tom Griswold
I think.
Bob Kevoian
Doesn't it depend who's where?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I guess so.
Josh Arnold
They. Based on their schedule, there's not a
Tom Griswold
hard and fast rule.
Josh Arnold
Hey, we're playing the nationals. Let's just go.
Tom Griswold
The President, right? I would think. There you go. And from the NFL. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza, the top overall pick in this year's draft is signed, sealed and delivered to Henderson, Nevada. That's right. That's where the Vegas Raiders practice a four years $57.27 million contract. Raiders hold a fifth year option. Mendoza, the last of the Raiders 10 draft picks to sign. He ran the third team offense and organized OTAs. Organized team activities in minicamp. Expected now to really dig his teeth into the offense for the Raiders and
Josh Arnold
see where like him as a player.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, he's got a. It's going to sound. I'll be serious for a second. He's got a good body. He's. He's angular. He's. He's very lithe.
Josh Arnold
So. Oh, he lies.
Tom Griswold
He's got a. He's got a whip like arm, I think.
Bob Kevoian
Is he spindly? That would be what you do on a lathe.
Tom Griswold
Not spin.
Josh Arnold
Ah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Not spindly at all. And he'll get in that weight room and he'll. He'll thicken up. You know what I'm saying? Oh yeah. I think he's so.
Josh Arnold
He's built for football.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely. Yep.
Bob Kevoian
Now coming up in sports.
Tom Griswold
He moves well. He moves well in the pocket.
Josh Arnold
Is he explosive?
Tom Griswold
He.
Bob Kevoian
He sounds like it sounds like you discuss discussing your morning call.
Drew Powell
Coffee?
Bob Kevoian
You better.
Josh Arnold
Oh, this morning. Oh yeah.
Peter Frampton
Terms.
Tom Griswold
I think someone's going to fly me out to see the Trinity site in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Josh Arnold
I do think you have to get out there at some point. It's such an interest of yours.
Tom Griswold
We're gonna make it happen.
Bob Kevoian
Is it still radioactive?
Tom Griswold
Oh, sure. Yeah. The. The Trinitite, the sand that was turned to glass. An instant, it's still there.
Bob Kevoian
You hold your hand to the ground and see the bones.
Tom Griswold
No, you can't.
Zachary Spicer
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Are any of the fake houses still there?
Tom Griswold
Oh, I don't know.
Josh Arnold
Some of those tests.
Tom Griswold
Well, you know, a lot of them were. They. They served their purpose. They were blown up.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Yeah. How is this going to affect us?
Tom Griswold
Know they have a nuclear cannon. The shell is a nuclear warhead.
Bob Kevoian
How many T shirts can you put in?
Tom Griswold
And you fire. I'M talking about Hot Topics Worth. Nuclear war.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, boy, the fun stuff when we come back.
Tom Griswold
Remember, nuclear war. Just duck and cover. You'll be okay.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
By the way, Peter Frampton, the great guitarist, singer and songwriter, will be our guest later today. Actor Drew Powell will be joining us talking about filming a interesting movie about the ladies in the little five. And we'll return to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker at the news desk. Hello, Pat Godwin.
Chick McGee
Hey, Chick.
Tom Griswold
There's the one, the only, Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby.
Josh Arnold
Hey, Chick.
Tom Griswold
Hi, man. I'm Chick McGee at the NHTSA sports desk.
Josh Arnold
And, Chick, do you even feel like you got a break just now? I. I talked to you the whole time.
Chick McGee
No.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
You didn't get to step away from not talking.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that's true.
Tom Griswold
No, no, no. I enjoy a simulating cover. There's nothing like a simulating conversation. And that was nothing like it, let me tell you. Oh, are we poison. Ready to go with?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. We have a. Apparently a special surprise guest joining us via satellite.
Josh Arnold
Oh, my gosh.
Jess Hooker
Hey, guys.
Tom Griswold
It's about time.
Josh Arnold
Well, it's been a while.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it's your favorite stepsister, plumber. Turd wrench. Tina.
Chick McGee
Hi.
Josh Arnold
Turd wrench.
Bob Kevoian
I like. I like the hat. It's got your initials on it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
TW
Jess Hooker
hey, so some Ed went on vacation and left me here alone during a natural disaster. In the plumbing community, We've got Category 5 toilet tornadoes striking porcelain bowls coast to coast.
Josh Arnold
That's right.
Jess Hooker
Yes. With the bacteria in the. In the. In the salad. And that's why I don't eat anything green. Yeah, so I've been on the phone with FEMA for days trying to get reinforcements. I don't mean to take advantage of your platform, but if you know anybody on the brown market that could help me get about two dozen plungers and a case of monster energy drinks. I gotta get these boys out in the field.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, the brown Market, Right, the brown market.
Augie Smith
Yes.
Jess Hooker
I've been at the shop a lot lately, and I've been listening to the show a lot. And Tom, I feel like everybody's been making a lot of fun of you, you know, having to. To swim nude and all that.
Bob Kevoian
Well, we had to swim naked when I was at boys camp as a small young man.
Jess Hooker
Well, yeah. I just wanted you to know that you're not alone. My PE teacher also made us get naked.
Bob Kevoian
Really?
Jess Hooker
Yes. It wasn't on swim days, but on the days that we had to run the mile, she had us line up outside her office topless, and she would selflessly apply Crisco to our nipples so that our sports bras wouldn't chafe us during the run. She was salt of the earth. I'm telling you, she's a damn fine woman. And I still think of her every time I fry chicken. I'm gonna let y' all get back to it.
Josh Arnold
All right. Thank you, Tina.
Bob Kevoian
Crisco on the nipples.
Show Announcer
Yes.
Josh Arnold
What a. What a thoughtful coach.
Tom Griswold
Turd ranch Tina, ladies and gentlemen.
Bob Kevoian
Crisco on the nipples. Yes, sir. Well, we are visiting the sports desk.
Tom Griswold
Is that correct? Let's see, one more. Did you give me a world record cuz I can't find it?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, I did. Once again, check Biggie at the. At the NHTSA sports desk. I didn't give it to you. The shark lady?
Tom Griswold
No, I do not. Oh, okay. Can you give me the precio.
Josh Arnold
Does she swim with sharks?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, she has the Guinness World Record concerning sharks. Yes, for the most sharks tattooed on her body.
Josh Arnold
Oh.
Bob Kevoian
But she's actually a scientist. She's a shark biologist named Emily Morrison. She has 106 tattoos devoted to sharks on her body. 71 different species are represented on her body, as well as 13 fossilized shark teeth and one fresh shark tooth.
Josh Arnold
106 tattoos on her body.
Bob Kevoian
Gets a new one whenever she interacts with a new shark. She started getting them when she was 19, when she began working with sharks professionally.
Josh Arnold
She's now 92.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Josh Arnold
Sharks call her Jerky.
Bob Kevoian
She's gonna keep.
Tom Griswold
He's too tough to eat. Tom.
Bob Kevoian
She wants to get all 58 shark families tattooed on her body. So, I mean, she has to interact with each one of these various types of sharks.
Josh Arnold
Would you watch Shark Family Feud?
Tom Griswold
Absolutely. And here's the shark. They're just standing. There they are.
Bob Kevoian
Good answer.
Tom Griswold
Good answer. Good answer.
Josh Arnold
Hi, Steve. Happy to meet you.
Bob Kevoian
Did you get the picture of her? Did we ever find that?
Tom Griswold
There she is.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, there you go.
Josh Arnold
You Know they don't all. They don't bleed together. They don't. They. They look. I think it looks cool.
Tom Griswold
I can't help but mention dad ass.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I didn't even know. You're right. And a wetsuit ass at that.
Bob Kevoian
She's got half. Half of her wetsuit pulled down there. Yeah, swimming with the shirt all the way down.
Tom Griswold
Is that a swimsuit or a bra she's wearing or.
Bob Kevoian
That's a swimsuit.
Josh Arnold
We should turn around so we can see those great whites.
Bob Kevoian
But quite the scientist. Very interesting. I guess you can see her more or less naked on her only fins page.
Drew Powell
Very nice.
Josh Arnold
Well, she is giving me a hammerhead.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, I've got a trivia question for you guys. I. I would not have gotten this, so I'll say right in advance. What do you call a group of sharks? Is there a. Like for example, you've got, you know the classics.
Peter Frampton
A.
Bob Kevoian
What is it? A murder of crows. Crash of rhinos.
Tom Griswold
Can I guess?
Josh Arnold
I have a guess too.
Tom Griswold
A congress.
Josh Arnold
No, I'm gonna guess a duh dunt.
Bob Kevoian
Da da da da da dun dun. Oh, I see. No, very good. No, no.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, thanks.
Bob Kevoian
I was hoping you taking this seriously. Oh, sorry, Pat. Do you have any guesses? Oh, geez.
Chick McGee
A fear of sharks.
Bob Kevoian
No.
Tom Griswold
How many? Yeah, there are 10 and a fear.
Josh Arnold
No, please guys, take this seriously.
Bob Kevoian
It's a. A shiver of sharks.
Tom Griswold
It is not. It is a shiver of timbers.
Bob Kevoian
Not sure. It's a shiver of sharks as you would do.
Tom Griswold
Tom. I'm gonna have to look this up on you.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, go ahead. I. I didn't believe it either. So I looked it up this morning. The. I mean, everyone knows murder of crows, pot of whales. Obviously crash of rhinos is cool. This one is. I hadn't heard before. This is really a cool one. A group of giraffes. A tower of giraffes.
Tom Griswold
Okay, you're. You're kind of half right and half wrong. What do you mean a group of sharks? It says here a shiver a school or a frenzy of sharks.
Josh Arnold
Oh, maybe it depends on what they're doing.
Tom Griswold
Yeah know, maybe that's got a lot
Josh Arnold
because feeding frenzy comes from the shark that. That world.
Tom Griswold
The piranhas maybe.
Bob Kevoian
No. Do you know what a group of owls is called?
Tom Griswold
A hoot.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, that would be great.
Josh Arnold
But no wisdom.
Bob Kevoian
No, that's all the congress close A parliament of.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's right.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, really good. But a shiver of sharks.
Tom Griswold
All right,
Bob Kevoian
now would you ever.
Tom Griswold
This is totally. They assure you it's totally safe. There's no way that a shark can get in there and bend the bars. They've already taken care of that. Would you get in a shark tank and have it lowered in the. Into the ocean knowing. Knowing you were going to encounter a shark?
Josh Arnold
I've already.
Bob Kevoian
I did a shark dive in the Bahamas.
Tom Griswold
You did do that? Yeah. Honestly? Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Were you in the tank little reef sharks?
Bob Kevoian
No, no. They were. I. I couldn't get out of the water fast enough.
Tom Griswold
But you were bobbing around and saw a shark.
Bob Kevoian
We were under. We were how big Bobbing underwater.
Josh Arnold
They weren't great whites right in the Bahamas.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. No, that's right.
Bob Kevoian
It could have been. They were.
Josh Arnold
I know they weren't.
Bob Kevoian
They were. It was very scary. There were several dozen. It was a shiver.
Tom Griswold
Plus several dozen sharks.
Josh Arnold
Baby sharks no bigger than iguanas.
Tom Griswold
I still say the funniest thing we could ever do is have on YouTube. We should put captions on what time explaining what he's saying and if it's fact or not.
Bob Kevoian
I can. I have witnesses.
Tom Griswold
I would.
Bob Kevoian
I was with several of our friends. Yeah. And it was with a story was we went out with a group called Dive. Dive. Dive.
Tom Griswold
I like that name.
Bob Kevoian
And it was a mistake.
Tom Griswold
Big mistake.
Chick McGee
Didn't have any fun. Fun. Fun.
Bob Kevoian
No, no.
Show Announcer
We had.
Bob Kevoian
We. But it. They offered license.
Josh Arnold
License. License.
Bob Kevoian
They. Oh, it was the Bahamas. Probably not. Not. Not. They were. They had confused the two groups and the boat we were on was not supposed to be a shark dive.
Tom Griswold
No kidding.
Bob Kevoian
The guy took us for the shark dive.
Tom Griswold
Oh my God.
Bob Kevoian
We were all kind of astonished when we went down there and they were circling us. There were probably at least 10 of us.
Josh Arnold
They had confused the two groups.
Julian Frampton
They.
Josh Arnold
They left us in the water and took the sharks home.
Tom Griswold
How embarrassing.
Bob Kevoian
I can't believe you don't know that story.
Tom Griswold
I know I would. I think I would have.
Josh Arnold
Would you do it?
Bob Kevoian
I wouldn't do it again. It was because they're the guy. Were you drinking?
Tom Griswold
I don't know.
Josh Arnold
I want to do the steel cage. I'm kidding with. With 20 foot gray whites swimming around.
Tom Griswold
I would go along.
Josh Arnold
I'd be horrified. But I would do it. I'd love to.
Bob Kevoian
If the sharks were they. We stood in a group and the sharks were circling us. There were a lot of them. And then I kept thinking because he's all. They know what? How do they know what if you get the one shark that didn't get the memo that day.
Tom Griswold
Did you know when I got certified, Patty. Certified to be a scuba Diver back in the 90s. That's still valid. And I could go down. Down. Fly to the Bahamas today and be 80ft down tomorrow with my scuba tank on. Wow. If I won.
Bob Kevoian
Well, they do that hotel certification, which
Tom Griswold
is not a refresher course. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
That's not really all that.
Drew Powell
No.
Bob Kevoian
If you're gonna do it, take the real course. Yeah. The one in the shallow end of the pool really isn't going to prepare you.
Tom Griswold
And even if you do that, be careful.
Pat Godwin
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Is that fun to do that?
Tom Griswold
It was, and I'm glad I did it. But, boy, I really would have trouble doing it today. I don't think. I don't think I would. I don't know.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, one of our friends, it was on it. We were on this big boat, and one of our friends, they. There's a certain. You're not supposed to go below a certain level. And this guy, very first dive, all of a sudden, I looked down and what is he doing?
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Are you talking about Ricky the Benz Johnson? Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
He did go far too then.
Bob Kevoian
But when he came up, he was really far from the boat. He almost drowned trying to get back.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my gosh.
Bob Kevoian
Didn't know how to do it.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
You want to have proper training. Trust me on this. But once again, you can see the tattooed lady on only fins with her lovely, hot. How did you describe her ass?
Josh Arnold
Oh, no, I said I wanted to turn around to see those gray whites.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I see. Very good. Coming up. Unless he's listening now, it'll be Peter Frampton talking about his new project. And his son Julian's gonna join us.
Josh Arnold
Are all rockstar sons named Julian?
Peter Frampton
I don't know.
Josh Arnold
You got a Julian Lennon. Julian France.
Tom Griswold
I think that is state law.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, good. Only in the uk. Also be joined by actor Drew Powell talking about a interesting project he's got going. And we'll also hear some news from Ms. Hooker, who seems to have disappeared.
Tom Griswold
She's taking care of Drew, I think, backstage.
Josh Arnold
Oh. She's thanking Turd Wrench. Tina.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, good. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.

Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. Really, really big show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Hello. There's Pat Godwin check.
Josh Arnold
Hello, Pat.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh, Armani, Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Ace Cosby.
Peter Frampton
Hello.
Tom Griswold
I'm Chick McGee and Tom. We have a special guest right here in the studio.
Bob Kevoian
Joining us in the studio with a big grin and big shoulders.
Drew Powell
You know what they say about big shoulders.
Josh Arnold
Big shirts, big shoulders to carry all that talent.
Tom Griswold
Hard to stand up.
Bob Kevoian
My publicist, everyone, actor Drew Powell has joined us.
Drew Powell
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And Drew is working on a special project we'll talk about in a few minutes. Minutes. Drew is almost always working, which is cool in the world of being an actor, huh?
Drew Powell
It is.
Bob Kevoian
Can you even talk about the. Yeah, the TV thing you just did?
Drew Powell
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
When is that going to start airing?
Drew Powell
I'm in the first and fourth episode of season 20 of Criminal Minds.
Josh Arnold
Oh, wow.
Bob Kevoian
And do you play a good guy or a bad guy?
Drew Powell
Y' all just have to tune in sometimes.
Josh Arnold
You think the good guys are good guys.
Tom Griswold
Are you gonna punch any of my favorite characters in this one?
Bob Kevoian
No, that's actually. That leads to my next point. I actually had occasion to text Drew just a couple weeks ago. I had Saturday Night Live on, and for at least the second time that I know of, Drew portrayed a character in the wonderful television show, I believe, nominated for more, yes, Emmys than any show in history called the Pit.
Jess Hooker
Wow.
Bob Kevoian
It's a kind of a hospital ER type. It's a great program. Really well done. And Drew plays a bad guy.
Drew Powell
Misunderstood.
Bob Kevoian
A brief scene where he punches out
Josh Arnold
one of the nurses who hasn't been there.
Bob Kevoian
And Saturday Night Live on two occasions has popped in a still picture of Drew. Was it during Weekend Update?
Tom Griswold
I can't even.
Drew Powell
No, they did a thing called Maha Hospital, so, you know, make America healthy again. So it was a sketch, a long sketch with Harry Styles, but that was
Bob Kevoian
the second time I've seen them use that program.
Drew Powell
They reran it. Yeah, it was the Harry Styles program. And it's funny because I was about to go on stage in Palm Springs at a charity event for St. Jude, and my phone explodes, and the first thing I read is, hey, you're on Saturday Night Live. And I'm like, aha. Yeah, I get mistaken for Harry Styles all the time. And then the next one, and then it was like, oh, this might be real. And then, thank goodness somebody sent a little clip of the show, and it's like, yeah, they use. My face is like, if your favorite character is the guy that punched out the nurse on the pit, you're going to love Maha Hospital.
Bob Kevoian
Now, do they have to call the producers of the Pit and ask permission or they.
Drew Powell
I don't think so. I think it's satire. They can do whatever they want. Because I don't think. I didn't call my agents. Like, do you get paid?
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Drew Powell
You didn't get a no.
Bob Kevoian
Big fat Chuck?
Drew Powell
No.
Chick McGee
No.
Drew Powell
Not even a little check? Yeah. But it was really fun. So I can now say that I've been on snl.
Josh Arnold
Don't do that.
Bob Kevoian
I'm gonna. You know. You've been on Broadway?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Drew Powell
That was with.
Bob Kevoian
With Pee Wee Herman.
Drew Powell
Pee Wee Herman. That I will never, ever. That is just an incredible. It was also, like, my son was born right after the fact. I was, like, hopping on a plane to get there before he was born. I'm like, hang in there, buddy. You know, don't pop out yet. Like, it was such an amazing time in my life. But that show was insane. The amount of people that came to see that show, because it was like, you know, imagine the playhouse came to life for the first time in however many years. And Peewee was coming out of exile from all of his scandals. And it was wild. Like, Prince came. And in very. Prince, like, fashion, he. He, like, moved seats, like, five times. Because here's the thing, I. Oh, he
Josh Arnold
wanted to see it from all angles.
Drew Powell
I think he's just. Just add or maybe on heavy drugs. But. But I was. I had a. I was a big dancing bear. And so I was like, you remember. Like, I know you remember the. Mr. What's the.
Tom Griswold
What's the Captain Kangaroo?
Drew Powell
Thank you.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
The dancing.
Drew Powell
The dancing bear. So it was like that. And I could look out of my nose, and so I could see. I. You know, when I'm sitting on stage, I could see everybody was there. And. And so, yeah, and just, like, Prince was here, and then he was there, and he was there. And, you know, everybody. I mean, so many.
Bob Kevoian
Did they come backstage to meet Peewee? Did you.
Drew Powell
Oh, yeah. And so I learned that there was one empty dressing room, and that's where they hold all the VIPs. So I would change quickly and go over there with my camera because I'm like, if I don't take pictures of these. That's why my favorite picture that I have is of me and David Bowie with Peewee over his shoulder looking in like, you're not supposed to be taking that picture. And I have a sign that says, hi, Veronica. Because she was. Had to leave. And my wife. And she was. She's a big Bowie fan. But it was wild because Bowie and her mom were there and we're staring at them and their kids are there and they're staring at us. It was just like. Nobody really talked about. It was really wild.
Bob Kevoian
Did Peewee stay in character?
Drew Powell
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, during the meet and greet.
Drew Powell
During the meet and greet, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a lot to get him in that suit. I think it took a lot.
Josh Arnold
How many performances did you do?
Drew Powell
We did. We did a month in la and then we did three months in New York, and then we did it. We shot it for hbo. I think it's back on hbo.
Josh Arnold
Max.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
So you were. You were in the Dancing Bear costume a lot. Yeah, And I played Foghorn Leghorn in the Six Flags for a couple years.
Bob Kevoian
And my question is slightly, slightly off Broadway.
Drew Powell
Can I hear.
Josh Arnold
It was slightly off Broadway.
Drew Powell
Did you do the Voice?
Josh Arnold
No, it was a tape. And so I would have to go out and. Because I was in full costume and just mime to it.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my gosh.
Josh Arnold
It took about a month for me to go, oh, I don't need to smile in this thing. How long before you realized, oh, I can just do this?
Drew Powell
Yeah, it took a minute.
Show Announcer
Yeah.
Drew Powell
You're like, hey, I'm doing these stupid dances. Like, what are you doing? Yeah, yeah, 100%.
Tom Griswold
But there's a relevant. An important part of the show where he takes his head off and talks with people.
Drew Powell
Yep.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah.
Drew Powell
And every single night I take my head off. And it's funny because there's this unwritten rule. You never see the mascot. And they go. The crowd would just. Absolutely couldn't believe it.
Bob Kevoian
Did Pee Wee ever come out of character around you?
Peter Frampton
You?
Drew Powell
Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. One of the most. I have a couple.
Bob Kevoian
Was that weird?
Drew Powell
Yeah. Oh, he's super weird. 2. Two of the most surreal Peewee experiences. And he's gone now, so I'm allowed to say whatever I want. One was when we wrapped in la, he had. He was. He had a big dressing room. We. We did it at LA Live. Downtown. Downtown at. It used to be called the Club Nokia, but. And we finished, and we're in his dressing room, me and one of the other actors. And his dressing room is filled with all of these gifts. So it's like peewee things and Terry the Pterodactyl Dolls and flowers and everything. Because the end of the run, he was back. You know, it was a big deal. And so he starts. He lights up a joint, actually, some kind of. It was any. Anyway. And I have enough, you know, in my own mind. That's not my thing. But he Was. But he was, like, smoking them plenty. And it was kind of like I was getting the secondhand smoke, and he's in character and he's talking, and then there's. Was. It was just so bizarre. It was like something from Cheech and Chong. I don't know. So that one. And then. And then the other was. We would do rehearsal, and we would go to Times Square and he would buy tchotchkes. He was obsessed with, like, buying stuff. And so he would go to the Times Square, you know, tour shop.
Josh Arnold
Like, tacky things.
Julian Frampton
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Drew Powell
The tackier, the better.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, yeah. Interesting.
Drew Powell
Yeah. And he always had a camera with him, and he'd always take photos of things and people and like an old school, you know.
Bob Kevoian
Did everybody recognize Paul Rubens as Peewee immediately?
Drew Powell
No. It's funny when he's not in the. In the suit.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah.
Drew Powell
They didn't. They didn't recognize him. Wow. And then he was on Gotham, so then we were on the TV show together, so that was pretty bizarre.
Bob Kevoian
We're talking with actor Drew Powell. His experience in the. On the Broadway Peewee show. You're part of a movie being produced right now. Yes, we'll get to that. Coming up. The essence of it is this is the. The women's version of the famous little Fox.
Drew Powell
Yes. The first ever 1988.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that. Okay. So it is. You're doing the first one.
Drew Powell
That's right.
Bob Kevoian
And there's a terrific movie about where the little five is a character, if you will, called Breaking Away.
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Drew Powell
Classic.
Bob Kevoian
It's like, what, 40 some years old. Great movie.
Drew Powell
Yeah. Nominated for an Oscar for screenplay and. Yeah. And you see all these people that are in that movie that you forgot were in that movie. I just watched it recently. This is like. There's echoes of that movie in this one.
Show Announcer
It's.
Drew Powell
It's really good.
Bob Kevoian
Dennis Quaid.
Drew Powell
Dennis Quaid. Daniel Stern.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Jack.
Drew Powell
Jack Earl Haley. Yeah. From Bad News Bears.
Tom Griswold
Paul Dooley. Your favorite Paul Dooley.
Bob Kevoian
We got to. We actually spoke to Paul.
Peter Frampton
Did you.
Drew Powell
Oh, great.
Tom Griswold
Did you tell him to hang down his head? Paul, hang down.
Bob Kevoian
He's got that great line. Refund.
Drew Powell
I loved him. And waiting for Guffman, he's like, I got. I got abducted by aliens. They probe different ones of them, then they pro.
Tom Griswold
Meaning.
Chick McGee
I love that movie.
Bob Kevoian
Coming up, we're also talking with Peter Frampton and his son Julian. Peter's got a great album out there, and I can't wait to talk to him again. He's one of my favorites. Okay, good. Drew can play a little guitar for the guitarless up, Pat Godwin. Also, as I mentioned, coming up, Peter Frampton, Drew Powell and today in History all on the way. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Jess Hooker at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Pat Godwin.
Chick McGee
Hey, Chick.
Tom Griswold
Hello, Pat. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Hi. There's Ace Cosby.
Peter Frampton
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Hello. I'm Chick McGee and Tom, very special guest in in the House.
Bob Kevoian
Joining us in the studio, we have actor Drew Powell. Drew is a part of a, a lot of different projects going on. You're going to be on the TV in Criminal Minds.
Drew Powell
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
And we have to guess if you're going to be a good guy or a bad guy. You do look like you. I know you have portrayed a cop in many shows.
Drew Powell
I've had my cop era.
Bob Kevoian
You do have that. When you, when you do the cop, you lose the beard.
Drew Powell
Yeah. A lot of times.
Tom Griswold
You did not see him in the Menendez Brothers being the cop with no
Drew Powell
beard, no beard and long hair. I don't know who that guy is, genuinely.
Tom Griswold
But yeah, gorgeous man.
Show Announcer
Thank you.
Drew Powell
Thank You.
Bob Kevoian
Your lovely, beautiful wife.
Drew Powell
Yeah, it's Veronica.
Bob Kevoian
Does she. Are there certain parts you take where she goes, I can't wait till you get rid of that mustache or something?
Drew Powell
Yes, but she's a makeup artist, so she. She really knows.
Bob Kevoian
She understands the need you have to do. But there has to be. I'm sure there's been a conversation, something like, I hope this is the last day of shooting, so that doesn't come off.
Drew Powell
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
I'm not going to be sleeping in the same room.
Drew Powell
Well, it's usually the other way around. It's like, what? I shaved it off for this really cool short I did about the Korean War, which hopefully will make into a movie, but I was. That was the first time I've been clean shaven in a while. She's like, look forward to that growing back. I'm like, okay, that feels weird to say about my face.
Jess Hooker
Imagine if you said anything like that to her. I think of the things I say to my husband, and I would, like. I would be in the fetal position if he talked to me the way
Bob Kevoian
I talked to him.
Jess Hooker
Honest.
Bob Kevoian
What do you say to him?
Jess Hooker
Like, you look like an idiot. Fix your hair, something. You know, stuff like that. Like, oh, my gosh, if you put any more, like, product in your hair, it's gonna make me crazy.
Drew Powell
You're so fat.
Jess Hooker
Okay, I don't say that.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
I think I'm being gaslit by Kevin Kelly.
Jess Hooker
Why?
Tom Griswold
Oh, God, Tom, these microphones are on and we're. We're spilling into people's homes and automobiles.
Drew Powell
She's probably awake.
Bob Kevoian
That's fine. No, no, she. She'll know this. I'll say. I'll say. For example, I've got these shoes on that you liked. I never said I like those.
Tom Griswold
Wait a minute.
Jess Hooker
Oh, no. You're gaslighting her.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. What are you.
Pat Godwin
No, no.
Tom Griswold
That's the way you start a conversation. Hey, I'm wearing that shirt you like.
Bob Kevoian
And I never said I like them. You were with me when I bought them. Well, I didn't say I liked them. The other day I had to kill an hour at the mall. I don't particularly like to shop, but I had. I was waiting for something to get done.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my God. He's loose in the mall, people.
Bob Kevoian
And so I. I thought, I think I like these shoes. And I was gonna. Wait a minute.
Jess Hooker
I.
Bob Kevoian
So I took a photograph of them and I sent it to Kelly. What do you think? I got a thumbs down.
Jess Hooker
Thumbs down.
Bob Kevoian
And then I got a text going, well, if you like them? You can get them. But now what. What would you do?
Jess Hooker
You don't get them.
Bob Kevoian
You don't get them.
Jess Hooker
You don't get them.
Drew Powell
No, you don't get them.
Josh Arnold
If you like them, you get them.
Tom Griswold
You get them. You like them, they're yours.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Be a man.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you.
Drew Powell
That came from two people that are unmarried, my friend.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Drew Powell
Do not listen to that.
Tom Griswold
Is happy.
Josh Arnold
Do what I want.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
When I want shoes, whatever.
Bob Kevoian
I want whatever style.
Josh Arnold
Like fish.
Tom Griswold
Not only are you happy, some would say delirious.
Bob Kevoian
Look at that outfit. And I'll go, are you kidding?
Tom Griswold
Well.
Bob Kevoian
But this is a Sid Mashburn shirt.
Tom Griswold
Hang on. In Kelly's defense, I've seen you cut quite the figure in cargo pants and a. And a sport jacket.
Josh Arnold
You know, in my experience, too, I've never had a. I've never had a woman turned off when I've put my foot down and said, you know what? No, I like it. I'm wearing it.
Jess Hooker
That's also true.
Josh Arnold
That actually kind of works in your
Drew Powell
favor, and that's why we can't figure it out. What the hell?
Jess Hooker
Sometimes I need you to be a little mean to me.
Augie Smith
Yes.
Show Announcer
Oh, God.
Jess Hooker
Like, in a safe way.
Bob Kevoian
This has really gotten weird. I'm sorry. Well, let's. Let's move forward here now. Pat Godwin can no longer. No longer temporarily cannot play guitar due to his.
Chick McGee
Right.
Bob Kevoian
Soon, though, surgical procedure.
Tom Griswold
He's gonna have to learn to play again. Right?
Chick McGee
All over.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Lose it now. Have you been using your left hand fingering techniques just to keep fresh or.
Jess Hooker
Don't say that.
Josh Arnold
We're still talking. Playing guitar.
Chick McGee
Oh, playing GUITARI Sorry. Yes, I have, actually. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Okay, so. But you can't strum, so.
Chick McGee
Yeah, not with the right.
Bob Kevoian
Drew is a. Is also a musician.
Tom Griswold
Actor.
Bob Kevoian
And he's got his good guitar. You guys are going to play a song for us. Not live right here.
Chick McGee
Now.
Tom Griswold
What the heck?
Chick McGee
Let's give it a shot.
Drew Powell
I mean, it fits. This is kind of, you know what you were saying, Jess, about, you know, being so. It's like, you know, this is a great song to say to your honey.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Drew Powell
Like, listen, I'm going to put my foot down. I got a great suggestion for you, which I always thought this was a Bob and Tom song anyway, but it's by the great Jimmy Buffett. Shall we?
Chick McGee
Let's give it a shot.
Drew Powell
It Play. I really do appreciate the fact you're sitting here. Your voice sounds so wonderful. Put your face. Don't look too clear.
Chick McGee
A bar may bring A picture. Another round on the brew, Honey, why
Bob Kevoian
don't we get drunk and screw?
Chick McGee
Come on, everybody why don't we get drunk and screw?
Drew Powell
I just saw water beds build up
Chick McGee
on me and you they say you are a snake love queen. I don't think that's true.
Drew Powell
So why don't we get drunk, screw? Take it. Pack Godwin.
Chick McGee
I can't play guitar, Drew.
Tom Griswold
Let's take it anyway.
Augie Smith
Hey.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's so beautiful.
Drew Powell
Chicks love a mouth trumpet.
Chick McGee
That's nice.
Bob Kevoian
That's nice.
Drew Powell
Yeah, take it, chick mcgee.
Chick McGee
Oh, my God.
Drew Powell
All right, bring it home.
Bob Kevoian
I know you're sitting in your car
Chick McGee
now why don't we get drunk and screw? I just bought a water bag filled up for me and you they say you are a snuck Wayne.
Bob Kevoian
Honey, I don't think that's true why
Chick McGee
don't we get drunk and screw? Hey, now, baby I said why don't
Bob Kevoian
we get drunk and screw? Oh, they're kissing. They're kissing.
Chick McGee
Oh, God,
Pat Godwin
yes.
Tom Griswold
My God, I'm so turned up.
Josh Arnold
Jess has never been hotter.
Tom Griswold
Zowie.
Bob Kevoian
Snuff queen. Kind of.
Drew Powell
That was wet.
Bob Kevoian
Kind of a New Orleans term for a prostitute. Okay, Snuff queen.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's not snuff pictures, right? Snuff movies.
Bob Kevoian
No, it's not snuff film.
Josh Arnold
That really adds a darker element to that.
Bob Kevoian
Not snuff films.
Josh Arnold
You can only be a snuff queen once. Yeah, if you're a true.
Tom Griswold
I was gonna say yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Great song from Jimmy buffett. Well, thank you very much.
Chick McGee
Hell of a kiss too.
Zachary Spicer
I know.
Josh Arnold
Actually, written by Helen reddy. A lot of people don't know that.
Bob Kevoian
Now, Jess hooker's over there at the Bob and Tom news desk. Anything worthy of.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
A new poll of 2,000Americans show how sleep habits affect relationships. Over a fifth of U. S. Adults have ended a relationship solely due to their ex partner's disruptive nighttime habits.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, wow.
Jess Hooker
Snoring. Yeah. Obviously snoring was a common complaint with 60 of responses mentioning it, including one person who said their ex snored like a chainsaw.
Drew Powell
But you know what fixes that? A CPAP machine.
Jess Hooker
That's what I hear.
Drew Powell
Nothing more sexy than a CPAP machine.
Bob Kevoian
Are you a CPAP guy?
Drew Powell
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So's Godwin.
Drew Powell
Saved my life. I mean, not really, but I'm telling you, like I like my Spanish teacher in high school. He almost died from sleep apnea. Like, was in a coma for three months. Well, mess around with that, man, it is the ugliest thing you feel like such A loser. It is the worst thing on your face.
Josh Arnold
Your Spanish teacher was a C. Poppy. Yeah, that's what they call him. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So do you take one on the road?
Drew Powell
Road what? Yeah, there's a travel one.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
You have to.
Drew Powell
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And you. You have the. I've always said it's the Steve Canyon mask. That reference of Steve Canyon, more like.
Drew Powell
What's the guy from.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe. Maybe go Top Gun or the one from Mad Max.
Drew Powell
Who was that guy? Oh, yeah, yeah, the bad guy in Mad Max. It would be painful for you.
Bob Kevoian
You carry that thing around.
Drew Powell
Yeah, but. And I had to. The insurance, of course, doesn't cover the mini one, so I had to pay a lot of money for it. But it's like this big in a little sack.
Bob Kevoian
So it's the size of a football.
Drew Powell
Yep. Less like a mini football.
Bob Kevoian
And then you have to carry the. The headgear. Does it make a noise? Is it like, go pocket? No, no, it's a little.
Chick McGee
Like a little wearing.
Tom Griswold
I like pocket.
Drew Powell
A pocket that puts you right to sleep.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Do you feel completely different?
Drew Powell
Absolutely.
Jess Hooker
Like, rested?
Bob Kevoian
Absolutely, yeah.
Drew Powell
Yeah. The weird part is when you do the sleep study. Did you do this?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Drew Powell
You go into an office building and at night and they put you in a bed and they work all this stuff up to you. And I think I was asleep for, like, 30 minutes. Like, nope, Nope.
Chick McGee
Yeah, same here. They said your numbers are too high. Let's put that on you now.
Drew Powell
Put that on you now.
Bob Kevoian
So does this force air down your lungs?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So it's kind of like an iron lung.
Drew Powell
Yeah. Actually, I found out I had it when I had a physical for a movie. So I don't know if you know this, but if you do a movie, especially a big one, usually, that you have to take a physical to make sure you're not going to die on him. And so the guy's like, you know, you have a narrow passageway down there. You do snore. I'm like, oh, yeah. And he's like, you might want to check that out. So. But it, like, the difference that you feel like I should really. I really should get money for this.
Tom Griswold
What am I doing?
Bob Kevoian
But when it comes to being in bed with one significant other, I assume that the. The visage of you with this gear all over your face is less than sexy.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's the worst.
Drew Powell
Yeah. You got to be married for at least, like, 10 years for you.
Bob Kevoian
Do you, like. Do you have some kind of. Some kind of romantic move where you throw it off your Face. She knows it's go time. Nothing romantic.
Josh Arnold
You can either.
Zachary Spicer
Let's go.
Josh Arnold
You can either marry a blind woman or you can marry a deaf woman and not have to worry about the cpap.
Tom Griswold
That is a great point.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. But it does make you feel better, which is great. I noticed a difference.
Chick McGee
Difference?
Josh Arnold
Because I. You were here, Pat, when you started doing it.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And after a couple weeks, you were like, dude, big difference.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
It's a game changer.
Josh Arnold
I got tested. No, I'm not a. I'm not a candidate.
Chick McGee
Huh.
Bob Kevoian
Were you able to sleep when they did? You have to go to that. Some downtown building.
Josh Arnold
I did not do a sleep study. They did a physical.
Bob Kevoian
They did a.
Josh Arnold
Some sort of scoppy.
Bob Kevoian
Now, what is your policy on this, my sweet Kelly? Yes, occasionally I'll wake up in the middle of the night and there's a. A delicate little snoring sound.
Jess Hooker
Sure. Well, you guys heard my snore. We have it on recording here. And that was recorded for the purposes of my family was like, I. We think you need a CPAT machine. And I was like, oh, it does
Tom Griswold
remind one of chainsaw mine. Your snore. Yeah. Here. Here it is right now. Oh, boy.
Chick McGee
Oh, sit that.
Drew Powell
Get this girl hooked up.
Jess Hooker
Whoa.
Bob Kevoian
You know, I. I've got the better recording over here.
Tom Griswold
Almost un otherworldly.
Bob Kevoian
Here's the better, better recording of it.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, Jess.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah.
Jess Hooker
You need.
Josh Arnold
That's. There's mucosa.
Bob Kevoian
There's a lot going on.
Drew Powell
It's in harmony right now.
Josh Arnold
You may have a deviant,
Chick McGee
Dev. Now, Tom, you used to snore because I went on vacation with you. We were all downstairs, all the boys and I in different rooms.
Tom Griswold
Obviously Tom would get fan mail from the airport. He was so loud.
Chick McGee
Is that gone away?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Chick McGee
With the weight loss.
Bob Kevoian
You think? Yeah, probably. Maybe when they did my. My surgery in my heart, they took
Josh Arnold
out a couple of.
Bob Kevoian
Scraped out a little flanges. I don't know what happened.
Tom Griswold
You had surgery on your heart? Well, Pat has surgery on his shoulder.
Chick McGee
Yeah, it's much worse.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Jess Hooker
So when Kelly snores, do you say anything?
Julian Frampton
No.
Jess Hooker
Okay, good.
Bob Kevoian
It's good, man. It's very light. It's not.
Tom Griswold
Don't you.
Bob Kevoian
It's not like yours where it sounds like you're taking a break from your cross country truck driving run.
Tom Griswold
Don't you try to move the bed and kind of shake her, but don't shake her.
Bob Kevoian
You know what I mean?
Josh Arnold
Oh, sure.
Jess Hooker
Roll over.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Aggressively, maybe.
Tom Griswold
Maybe throw one of these in something like that no. Wake her up just enough.
Bob Kevoian
I just only notice it when I'm getting up to leave. And I could be a cat burglar. When I get up in the morning, there is no sound at all.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, but when you get up in
Bob Kevoian
the morning around the house. I don't want to wake up the dogs.
Tom Griswold
When you get up in the morning, does she ever. You'll notice every now and then she goes, yay. Or that's the best sleep I get from.
Josh Arnold
There's nothing better than when the. The other person gets out of bed and goes to work.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely.
Josh Arnold
And you just stretch out. Their warmth is still kind of there. That can be nice in your house.
Bob Kevoian
Technically, the women there are coming to work.
Josh Arnold
Uhhuh. Only snuff queens.
Drew Powell
Excuse me?
Josh Arnold
In fact, that's what my welcome at says. Only horse.
Drew Powell
Only snuff queen.
Tom Griswold
We have another. We have another angle on Jess snoring. Everybody ready?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You should get two seatbelts, man.
Jess Hooker
Jess, that wasn't all me. That was my snore.
Drew Powell
What was that?
Jess Hooker
That was my snore. Yawn.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
And my impression of any Arnold boy, me, or my. One of my three brothers vomiting. We're the loudest vomiters. I mean, that's no ex. That is.
Jess Hooker
That's wild.
Drew Powell
We're a bunch of loud volumes.
Tom Griswold
That is absolutely dead on.
Bob Kevoian
I want to say a special hello to our friend Art. He is currently recovering in a hospital bed in Wellington, Washington. Listening in real time in Wellington right now. Art, start feeling better immediately.
Josh Arnold
Hi, Art.
Drew Powell
Feel better, buddy.
Josh Arnold
Well, the transition went well.
Drew Powell
Shout out to the guy. I went to see the Odyssey yesterday. Oh, it is good. Oh, so good.
Josh Arnold
Oh, really? I've heard nothing but bad things.
Bob Kevoian
People are dumb.
Drew Powell
People are dumb.
Tom Griswold
People are dumb.
Drew Powell
People are dumb. Yeah. Do you know that this is one of only 25 in the country right here in Indianapolis?
Bob Kevoian
How'd you get tickets?
Drew Powell
Zachary Spicer.
Jess Hooker
That's what we wanted.
Drew Powell
You know, he bought him three months ago. No. Some people plan in their lives. I do not. So we were very lucky. But at the end, we were walking out, and I was with two of the young actresses in this movie who are really, you know, beautiful and famous, and they didn't know who I was. They thought I was just some dude sitting next to them. And then we're leaving, and they. Thanks to the dude who's listening right now who said, hey, Drew Powell, love you on the Bob and Tom show. I'm like, thanks. Because then the girls are like, oh, this guy might be famous. So I Got some street cred because of you, pal.
Tom Griswold
Thank you.
Bob Kevoian
You're very welcome. Coming up, we're gonna talk a little about this movie you're working on. We're also gonna talk with Peter Frampton. Are you kidding me? What's going on over there?
Tom Griswold
Chick McGee, let me tell you about NHTSA. When you speed while driving, you have less time to react whatever comes across your path. A sharp turn, a turn could take you by surprise. Another car could bang out in front of you, leading to a fender bender. You don't know you got this. A truck could break, suddenly injuring you and the other driver. A bicyclist could enter the road ahead and your impact could send them to the hospital. A pedestrian may be walking their dog. You need to slow down. You may not think any of these things could happen to you, but you won't see them coming until they happen. When you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. It only takes an instant. Destined for a disaster, speed limit isn't just there to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers. Other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and everyone share the road. So slow down, obey the law, and help keep everyone around you safe. Speeding catches up with you. Paid for by nhtsa.
Bob Kevoian
Thanks, Chickster. Thank you, nhtsa. We're going to come back with Drew Powell. We're going to talk a little bit about the movie he's working on with his buddy Zachary. Zachary Spice. Spicer. Now, do you remember the name Spicer from a movie? Anyone? Anyone? Spicer. Spicer.
Tom Griswold
No.
Jess Hooker
No.
Bob Kevoian
I had a teacher, Five Easy Pieces. I thought someone would know it, a cinephile such as Josh. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Show Announcer
Hey, thanks for listening this morning. Got something to say? Send us an email. Bob and Tom at Bob and Tom, Tom.com.
Bob Kevoian
thank you very much.
Show Announcer
I love.
Tom Griswold

Josh Arnold
Hi.
Jess Hooker
Jesus.
Tom Griswold
Perfect. There's Ace Cosby. He's got the bullhorn. I'm Chick McGee. Hello, Tom. We have special guests.
Bob Kevoian
Roger that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, take your. Take your time.
Bob Kevoian
Because I was just thinking about. We were talking about. About that sleep machine. What's it called again?
Jess Hooker
CPAP.
Bob Kevoian
The CPAP machine. Because both Mr. Godwin and actor Drew Powell have to wear a sleep apnea machine when they go to bed.
Drew Powell
Yeah, buddy.
Bob Kevoian
And it's. And you said it's kind of like the thing that pilots wear, huh? Yeah. And I was asking about how this would. Might affect your romantic life, and I got thinking about it, and I. I'm assuming that you do something. He's cracked himself up. Roger that. Coming in for some striking. Like two elephants trying to make out a vigorous rogering. Coming up. Do you take the thing off?
Drew Powell
Oh, no. It's way hotter if you leave it on.
Zachary Spicer
Just a long tube.
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Drew Powell
Oh, it's hot.
Josh Arnold
I think for me, it would depend on if I were on top or not. I would. I would want the extra oxygen if
Bob Kevoian
I were on top. Now, do we know if. Do more ladies than. I mean, do more men than ladies have this issue? Do we know?
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, I think.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I think men.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I would assume. I haven't met a woman that uses a CPAP machine.
Bob Kevoian
I guess my. And my question would be, do they have a ladies version of the thing that goes over your face that's.
Tom Griswold
Oh, you mean like it's pink or something?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. I'm serious. I wonder if they have, like a decorative.
Jess Hooker
I thought they were fitted for each individual person, though, right?
Drew Powell
No.
Jess Hooker
No, it's not.
Drew Powell
I mean, they're. There's like sizes.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Drew Powell
Like earpods.
Bob Kevoian
You know, somewhere there's someone out there that has knitted a.
Drew Powell
Yes.
Tom Griswold
There's like a what, a.
Bob Kevoian
A crocheted box.
Drew Powell
Rhinestones on there.
Show Announcer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I have your CPAP cozy.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. I had the aunt that.
Julian Frampton
On her.
Bob Kevoian
On her toilet. First of all, there was a thing that she had crocheted. No, Kleenex and toilet.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Because it was a septic system that was crocheted. Oh, yeah. Oh, there was a little thing. Needlepoint, like a doily, whatever.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. That was probably cross stitched.
Bob Kevoian
Whatever it was, it was a permanent. And then we had the. She had the. The matching little thing at the bottom of the toilet. A little rug, the throat. And then there was the matching thing on the toilet seat cover. And if. But of course it wouldn't. That meant that the seat cover wouldn't stay up.
Jess Hooker
You had to hold.
Josh Arnold
So if you were.
Bob Kevoian
If you were peeing, if you were paying, but the result was if you were peeing, at least in my case, with the confusion going on, there would always be a little extra on that piece of harp. I wanted to install, like a Velcro hook.
Drew Powell
Enough about me, but it's better Than snoring.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Drew Powell
Hey, Chick, will you. Will you play Jesse snoring one more time? I want to pitch this to Peter later. Ready? Ooh, baby, I love you way every day Want to tell you I love. I mean, I think that's got real potential.
Tom Griswold
That's something else.
Bob Kevoian
We're going to be talking to the great. We'll be talking to the great Peter Frampton. Unless he heard that.
Jess Hooker
Sorry, Peter.
Bob Kevoian
We'll be talking to Peter Frampton in a matter of moments. You guys are working on a special project. You're making a movie.
Augie Smith
And.
Bob Kevoian
And I'll. I'll reference it by saying there was a terrific movie made 40 some years ago, I think came out in the late 70s, right.
Zachary Spicer
It was like 77, 78.
Bob Kevoian
Breaking away.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
With Dennis Quaid. That was. That his first movie?
Zachary Spicer
That was his first movie, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Dennis Quaid, Daniel Str.
Zachary Spicer
What's the other guy's name? The shorter guy?
Drew Powell
Jackie Earl Haley.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Terrific movie. Yeah, just a great movie. I mean, like, we watched Dennis Christopher and I. It's interesting that Dennis Christopher kind of disappeared for a long time. He showed up in a Quentin Tarantino movie a couple years ago.
Drew Powell
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, no kidding.
Drew Powell
He was great. Yeah, yeah. He was in the Carpio DiCaprio.
Tom Griswold
Kill Bill.
Zachary Spicer
No, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Drew Powell
No, the other one.
Tom Griswold
We could spend all day, you know, what the hell? I mean, we. We got the radio show here.
Drew Powell
That was something.
Bob Kevoian
Previous segments over.
Tom Griswold
We got the mic.
Bob Kevoian
So you're making.
Pat Godwin
You're making.
Bob Kevoian
You're making a movie about the Little Five. Also the bicycle race at Indiana University. And what's it going to be called?
Zachary Spicer
You know, it's called Little Five.
Bob Kevoian
Ah, good idea.
Zachary Spicer
Just get straight to the point, you know, that's got. No messing around.
Drew Powell
Around.
Tom Griswold
No messing around. Plain, simple, to the point.
Bob Kevoian
My kind of title.
Tom Griswold
There you go.
Bob Kevoian
I like that very much.
Josh Arnold
Are you spelling out 5 or going numeric?
Zachary Spicer
We're spelling out 5.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's good for good for box office. That way people don't think it's a sequel.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, exactly.
Zachary Spicer
It's not the fifth. The little series.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
That's what happened with Part six. That's why that was such a failure.
Bob Kevoian
I see. I'm glad I said now. Did you write this movie?
Zachary Spicer
I developed it for like the past five years. So I grew up. I grew up in Indiana and I got inspired by. I mean, like, we would watch Breaking Away, Hoosiers and Rudy, you know, just on a rotation every single year in my household. And we've Been making movies here for the past 10 years. And we were talking about it recently, and we were like, like, when was the last great sports movie that anybody remembers?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it feels like it's been a while.
Zachary Spicer
It's been a while. While we were on a run there in, like, the 80s and 90s, like, they were just churning out sports movies that. That everybody loved and wanted to go
Bob Kevoian
see is the last good one. Friday Night Lights.
Josh Arnold
I would probably.
Jess Hooker
Any given Sunday.
Zachary Spicer
Any given Sunday.
Jess Hooker
That's late 90s.
Zachary Spicer
That was late 90s. It's been. It's been almost 30 years since you've had a great sports divisive.
Drew Powell
What about basketball? I mean, right.
Josh Arnold
I'll defend that movie to the hills.
Bob Kevoian
Well, those guys are geniuses. Have you ever seen the Book of Mormon? Oh, yeah, yeah.
Drew Powell
I took. I took my son Leo to see it last year. Yeah. People were like, are you sure? I'm like, he can handle it.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, when I went to see the Book of Mormon, the actual. In the playbill, there was an actual ad for the real. Not. How do I even explain it? For the Book of Mormon.
Zachary Spicer
The Book of Mormon was advertising the Book of Mormon.
Augie Smith
The Church.
Zachary Spicer
The church took out an ad.
Bob Kevoian
Genuine.
Julian Frampton
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
I'm totally serious. Totally serious.
Zachary Spicer
Well, you got to get your audience.
Bob Kevoian
So, I mean, they got it, but they got a sense of humor about it.
Drew Powell
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Bob Kevoian
That's one. That's. That play is genius.
Drew Powell
It really is. And I got to tell you, this script is genius. Like, it is. It is a great script. Like these guys. I'm a proud Hoosier, so this is the first time I've ever shot a movie.
Bob Kevoian
I assuming you're not playing one of the ladies on the bike.
Drew Powell
Yeah, I got to shave my legs.
Zachary Spicer
He's a fabulous actor. He's a transformative actor.
Drew Powell
Transformative.
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
I could just see some guy going, you know, we could all do so much with AI we don't have the technology to make Drew look like a slender co ed. So you play what, the daddy?
Drew Powell
I play the dad of the main dad.
Josh Arnold
Are you an encouraging father or are you a hey, maybe this isn't for you type dad? Like, hey, girls, don't do this.
Zachary Spicer
It's kind of a journey.
Drew Powell
Yeah, it's a journey.
Zachary Spicer
I mean, like, he's solely focused on IU basketball, which is like, when I grew up here. When I grew up here, like, no one was even paying attention. Attention to women's sports. It was just like, you have the IU calendar on the fridge and you are living and dying by that IU calendar of all of the games. And so it's just like an obsessive culture, because back in 1987. So the movie starts in 87, and in 1987, in Indiana, it was the wildest time. You know, around, you've got. It was the last national championship win for the men's basketball team. The soccer team won a national championship. The movie Hoosiers comes out.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Zachary Spicer
MTV lands in Bloomington for the first time to cover the world's greatest college weekend. And John Mellencamp sells out Memorial Stadium, you know, before he goes on his tour. And so in the background of all of this, these two women. This is all. This is all true. These two women attempt to qualify for the men's little 500.
Bob Kevoian
Sure.
Zachary Spicer
And one of them has one of the fastest lap times around the track of anybody there that day, but they don't end up being able to race. And so those two women put together 33 teams of four riders apiece over the next year, and they hold the very first one the next year. And back then again, like, you know, there's no Indiana Fever or anything. People. People aren't paying that much attention. They don't think anybody's going to show up. The stadium holds 17,000 people, and the day of the race, over 22,000 people showed up, including MTV. And this time, Adam Sandler is the very first guest host of the women's little 500. It's his first gig after Saturday Night Live.
Drew Powell
I forgot that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Zachary Spicer
And he's there on the ground, and the New York Times is there, and they write this article. Then that's what led us to the story. It was the breakthrough event in women's athletics.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, Zachary, you're violating two of my rules. A, you're not allowed to have a better voice than all of us,
Drew Powell
and
Josh Arnold
B, this is all I ever wanted.
Bob Kevoian
And B, you actually told that story succinctly, in a linear fashion, bottom to top.
Drew Powell
I have no idea what we're not saying.
Josh Arnold
It still wasn't boring, by the way.
Tom Griswold
And once again, we're all here.
Bob Kevoian
I'm not capable. I would not be capable of doing any of those things. It would have taken me an hour and a half.
Drew Powell
Yes. That's why we don't produce movies.
Bob Kevoian
No, he's never not allowed in our radio show. We'll come back with them. I guess I'll give them another chance. This is. What is this? Oh, These are the O'Reilly Auto Part Studios. The O'Reilly Auto Part Studios, this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Show Announcer
Hey, thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. Get a look at today's show on our YouTube channel,
Bob Kevoian
t@ the Speedway.
Tom Griswold
Welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the Oreillo Auto Parts Studios. At the news desk, it's Jess Hooker.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Pat Godwin.
Chick McGee
Hey, Chick there.
Tom Griswold
He's way over there. No DDL there. There's Ace Cosby. You know, we got the mics and everything. Okay, Chick McGee. And here's Tom Griswold with our special guest.
Bob Kevoian
Got a couple special guests here, by the way. Down the road a piece, we're going to talk with Peter Frampton. And if it works out, Julian Frampton, his son, they've been working on a project, and they've got a great album out there right now. We'll talk to him about that. Joining us the studio, we have actor Drew Powell, longtime friend of the show, always working on something, showing up on all kinds of things. He is. If you're not familiar with him, if you watch the show the Pit he plays.
Josh Arnold
Oh, you must be talking about season two because. Because it's missing one important.
Peter Frampton
Thank you.
Tom Griswold
Thank you.
Drew Powell
And by the way, all these guest stars from season two are getting Emmy nominations. I'm like, oh, that now, now. Thanks a lot, guys.
Bob Kevoian
Didn't they break the record for the most nominal.
Drew Powell
Yeah, whatever.
Bob Kevoian
I'm sorry.
Tom Griswold
Thank you. Last somebody said it. Yeah, whatever.
Bob Kevoian
The OG season. Is that the word?
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, you got. You're the one that got people hooked.
Drew Powell
Yeah, thank you.
Zachary Spicer
Exactly.
Bob Kevoian
Drew is the guy that does, does the punching. That's very good. Very good. And which is thus gotten him onto Saturday Night Live a couple times.
Tom Griswold
Well, sort of.
Drew Powell
Take it easy.
Tom Griswold
It's not like.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, I, I.
Tom Griswold
It's not like he hosted.
Bob Kevoian
I quite.
Drew Powell
Hey, I was on Saturday Live.
Bob Kevoian
I texted you immediately.
Drew Powell
Yes, I appreciate it.
Bob Kevoian
A few weeks ago, I couldn't stand it.
Tom Griswold
Kelly, look, she missed it. Bless her heart. Can you imagine being Kelly? My God. Oh, here he comes again.
Josh Arnold
And we're also joined by Zachary Spicer, who's the director of Drew's latest project.
Bob Kevoian
Producer.
Josh Arnold
Oh, producer. Oh, you don't direct.
Tom Griswold
No, no, no, no.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Zachary Spicer
Oh, I'm not talented.
Josh Arnold
Do you have any sway with casting and stuff like that?
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Oh, interesting. Yeah. Now, I don't know if you know this. Not just me, Pat Godwin.
Peter Frampton
We.
Josh Arnold
We've had our daily with lady celluloid.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Josh Arnold
Isn't that right, Pat?
Chick McGee
The Theater. Yeah, of course.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Drew Powell
Did you tread the boards now?
Josh Arnold
I imagine you wouldn't be. You're not feeling up to. We're not trying to suggest that we. We should be in this too.
Zachary Spicer
Well, I think you should probably. You should probably try to audition for it right now. We only have a brief amount of time, so I don't know if I could do that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, you could.
Josh Arnold
You could.
Chick McGee
Should I go with a dramatic monologue? Yeah, go ahead.
Bob Kevoian
What do you got?
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Drew Powell
Is it strange I keep asking where she is? I know.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, I know she's not here.
Chick McGee
Logically I know.
Drew Powell
Know that. But it's just the bigger things. Like I'll be sitting at the kitchen
Chick McGee
table, I'll look at the empty chair and I'll say out loud, where are you? Elizabeth.
Bob Kevoian
Elizabeth, my ex wife who died. Unbelievable.
Zachary Spicer
Unbelievable.
Drew Powell
That's a slow clap right there.
Chick McGee
Wow.
Tom Griswold
That is. Wow.
Josh Arnold
Your thoughts?
Julian Frampton
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's nice.
Tom Griswold
What a ham fisted portrait.
Drew Powell
Were you. Were you thinking about our kiss in the middle of that scene?
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Oh my God.
Zachary Spicer
Ms. Drew.
Bob Kevoian
And now being back here, Zachary Spicer is producing this movie. It's called Little Five. It's about the ladies first. Actual genuine Little Five down in Bloomington. And it reflects a little bit of the. The great movie Breaking Away. We were talking off there a little bit and you were mentioning that when they did have the. The women's Little Five, that among other things, the. The host was Adam Sandler.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
So he's gonna have kind of being. It sort of.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, he's gonna have a little spot in. It might add the crazy thing student at iu. My roommate ends up. He lived in Chicago and he got. He got picked out. Adam Sandler came to see a show that he did in Chicago. So my college roommate is Adam Sandler's head writer. Whenever you go around and see Adam on tour and everything, there are two people on stage. Adam and Dan Bulla, my roommate. So the fact that. The fact that like this whole movie is just a massive Full circle episode
Bob Kevoian
and there's another John Mellon camp had something to do with the original event back in 80.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Zachary Spicer
He sold out Memorial Stadium.
Bob Kevoian
So can you explain the connection now? When. When you make the movie, there's an odd.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, we've got. We've got. I don't want to give anything away, but we've got a massive scene of everybody singing one of. One of his.
Drew Powell
Okay, there we go.
Jess Hooker
Awesome. Yes.
Bob Kevoian
Sounds like it's going to be really cool. Now since you're our guest, Victor, I mean Guest.
Jess Hooker
We like to feed our guests. Right?
Zachary Spicer
Oh, God.
Tom Griswold
So no, no, no.
Zachary Spicer
Out there, I was like, surely she's
Bob Kevoian
going to be eating it.
Jess Hooker
No. So I don't know if you guys know, but this summer is a summer of wiener maxing.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Jess Hooker
So anyway. Anyway. We can do a hot dog. We're gonna do a hot dog.
Show Announcer
Oh, my God.
Augie Smith
Yes.
Jess Hooker
And I got this idea from small town mayor on Instagram. This is hot dog tartar.
Josh Arnold
Is that right?
Jess Hooker
This is.
Josh Arnold
Remember being a kid and just pulling
Bob Kevoian
a raw hot dog.
Jess Hooker
One of my favorite. We would be home alone for 10 hours on in the summer, and so you had to feed yourself. You'd open the refrigerator, you pull out a cold hot dog.
Drew Powell
No. Nobody did this. Nobody did this.
Bob Kevoian
No, I did that on a spot.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely.
Jess Hooker
So I prepared.
Zachary Spicer
It didn't look like that.
Jess Hooker
No.
Bob Kevoian
It looks like one of those gelatin. Gelatin things you'd see at the cafeteria.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it does.
Josh Arnold
But luckily, Jess has prepared it in classic tartar style.
Julian Frampton
Yes.
Jess Hooker
This is. This is how you would have beef tartare.
Bob Kevoian
Is that an egg on top?
Jess Hooker
It is. It's served with chives and a raw egg yolk on top and then no diced onion.
Bob Kevoian
Is it just ground up hot dog?
Jess Hooker
It is. Well, I chopped it fine. It's gherkin also, which is considered a Japanese pickle. I didn't know. It's like a clovey pickle, which is weird. And shallots, garlic mustard, all the things. Mayonnaise.
Zachary Spicer
That's what you want for breakfast in the morning.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, that's. That's how you start your day.
Josh Arnold
Now how do you serve this? Forkful or.
Jess Hooker
No, I brought my favorite potato chips, which are extra dark russets. Oh, yeah.
Drew Powell
So we're extra dark.
Jess Hooker
So I'm going.
Bob Kevoian
Is that a brand?
Jess Hooker
And no uts. Is the brand Utz?
Josh Arnold
Oh, sure.
Tom Griswold
Utz.
Jess Hooker
But the type of chip is extra dark russet. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
They look like you're kind of a kettle chip, almost a dark. They look like homemade chips.
Jess Hooker
They do.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yes. So who's in? I know this is a lot of flavors.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I'll try it.
Bob Kevoian
You'll try it.
Zachary Spicer
Good for you.
Tom Griswold
I haven't had any and I want more.
Bob Kevoian
What kind of hot dog?
Jess Hooker
It's a Nathan's hot dog.
Josh Arnold
Okay. So we didn't skimp.
Bob Kevoian
Have you tried this yet?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I did. So the video of me making it is available on Bob and Tom's YouTube channel right now. You can go watch it and I break down the rest.
Josh Arnold
Would you prepare a properly Served chip for me. Are not meant to create.
Jess Hooker
I've gotta bust the yolk. Do you want some yolk?
Tom Griswold
Please.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
So it's raw egg yolk.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I love st. Have you guys had steak tartar?
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I'm a big fan.
Bob Kevoian
Is it just the yolk, or is the rest of the egg on there, too?
Jess Hooker
No, no egg white. Just the yolk.
Bob Kevoian
Just the yolk.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And you put it on a potato chip like, thing and.
Drew Powell
Nope.
Josh Arnold
Thank you. I'll try.
Drew Powell
Nope.
Bob Kevoian
Okay. No, I don't think it looks like ham salad.
Tom Griswold
I don't think Drew wants it.
Augie Smith
No.
Drew Powell
I can't even look at it.
Bob Kevoian
I'll try it.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
This is.
Josh Arnold
Tastes really good.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure.
Bob Kevoian
Does this. But this is an exotic way to prepare a hot dog.
Josh Arnold
It does not have. Very complicated, and it does not have an unpleasant mouth feel.
Drew Powell
Guys got barf bags around here?
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, Seriously, that's good.
Drew Powell
Oh, here he goes.
Zachary Spicer
Absolutely not.
Josh Arnold
And it's a good summer treat because it's.
Drew Powell
It's gone. It's cold.
Zachary Spicer
Summer.
Augie Smith
All right.
Josh Arnold
It's good. Good.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, it is.
Drew Powell
Tastes good.
Bob Kevoian
I don't taste any hot dog.
Josh Arnold
Mild, isn't it?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, no.
Drew Powell
God, no.
Pat Godwin
God, no.
Jess Hooker
The hot dog flavor is mild.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
All right.
Bob Kevoian
What do you think?
Josh Arnold
The extra dark russet is a terrific
Jess Hooker
compliment, I have to be honest. It sounds. It is. And it. It's. It's. It's ham salad, essentially. In this form. It is ham salad.
Tom Griswold
I think I'd do better with a little mustard, but it's okay.
Jess Hooker
Okay. Mustard instead of. Of. Oh, in addition.
Tom Griswold
In addition to mustard. Hit it with.
Josh Arnold
Why not? Okay.
Bob Kevoian
Probably a lot of work.
Jess Hooker
It is a lot of work to get to.
Bob Kevoian
I'd almost rather just have you fry up a hot dog.
Josh Arnold
Well, yes. Yeah. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Hot dog in its original form is the only way to go, but.
Tom Griswold
Did you put that in the food grinder?
Jess Hooker
No, I chopped it all by hand.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Josh Arnold
Drew Powell, are you a picky eater? This is really bothering you.
Drew Powell
Yeah, I. This is.
Zachary Spicer
He's not a seafood man.
Drew Powell
Cold meats.
Jess Hooker
Oh, Are you a texture guy?
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Can you smell. Can you smell the hot dog?
Drew Powell
The cold cuts look good.
Josh Arnold
So you've never just opened up a hot dog smell? You've never just opened up a can of Spam and take a smell.
Drew Powell
No, stop.
Tom Griswold
You know what I like about the Spam is that gelatin that gets in there.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, yeah, yeah. Put that on a. Put that on a cracker.
Zachary Spicer
Call that au jus.
Josh Arnold
I rub it on My gums.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Put it on my cornflakes.
Drew Powell
You know, last night, this wonderful human being took a few of us to St. Elmo's Trademark.
Josh Arnold
Oh, a famous steakhouse.
Drew Powell
Yeah, famous steakhouse. And one of the young actresses asked Leo if he would like to try caviar for the first time.
Bob Kevoian
Your son?
Drew Powell
This is my son, Leo. 15 years old. So, you know, he's not gonna say no to that. So she puts the stuff on and she gives it to him. I got a video of this. And he eats it, and he's like. We get in the car about an hour later, he's like, that was the worst thing I've ever. I'm like, you might be a better actor than me. Respect.
Josh Arnold
He's a polite kid. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Quite the young gentleman.
Bob Kevoian
If they don't tell you you're supposed to like caviar, you're not gonna like it. You're not gonna like caviar. Yeah, it's fake. It's a fr. I want to say hello to our friends at Hyundai. It's the Hyundai getaway sales event. You're gonna get away with the deal so right, it feels wrong.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's the whole point of this is. Christy Lee right now is driving her Hyundai somewhere on the east coast, somewhere
Tom Griswold
very far away from us.
Bob Kevoian
Most popular models out there that are on sale right now include SUVs like the Santa Fe and the amazing Santa Fe hybrid. Also the Tucson and the Tucson hybrid. Plus the bold and stylish Elantra with all kinds of great technology, and the Ioniq 5 Electric and the also electric Ioniq 9. So get down to your local Hyundai dealer. Get away with a deal you'll love during the Hyundai getaway sales event. Visit HyundaiUSA.com for all the details. Just head over to that dealer, check it out. Take a test drive. I know you're gonna love it. Coming up, we're gonna talk with Peter Frampton and Julian Frampton. Peter's got a great new album out there, and it's always a great pleasure to speak with Mr. Frampton Hampton. We are huge fans, and we're going to return to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
Welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Jess Hooker at the news. Yes.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Joshua. Hi, Ace Cosby. Hey, I'm Chick McGee. Hello, Tom. We've got guests coming out of our ears.
Bob Kevoian
Actor Drew Powell is here. Producer Zachary Spicer is here. And we're trying to get hooked up on the video. Look at this. We got more handsome people than we
Josh Arnold
know what to do with. Oh, I see Peter Frampton's wearing a humble pie shirt. Are you a fan of that band?
Bob Kevoian
You know, I liked. I. I liked it after that little guy left. We're joined by.
Peter Frampton
Well, me too.
Bob Kevoian
Peter Frampton and Julian Frampton. And if I'm not mistaken, taken to your right. Is that a dog?
Peter Frampton
That's Bigsby.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, Bigsby. Good boy. What a good boy he is. And Peter Frampton. I've been listening to your album a lot. The Last, last day or so, and it's great. And now, which one. Which cuts. Is Julian in there on everything.
Peter Frampton
I mean, he was when we first. When I first called him. We'd written before stuff that went on record, but just isolated here and there. But I got to the point where I've been working for six years on. On the material. And I mean, I had in the twenties of ideas and songs and everything, and it was time to finish them. And so when Julian came over, I don't even think he came, correct me if I'm wrong, Julian, but just a visit. And you said, well, well, let's. Let's have a look at one of these songs, if you. And then, bingo, he helped me finish one. And then it was just this. The sluice gates opened and we. We just worked together, wrote new things that hadn't been started. And Julian. Then I realized that all these ideas, as we were recording them in this room, putting down the templates of the songs, that Julian's ideas for production were different things I hadn't thought of. And probably if he'd have been a regular producer guy, I wouldn't have agreed. But because he's my son and. And I. You know, he. I just love his way of working, and we work so well together. I made him one of the. So there's three producers. So it's me, Julian and Chuck Ainley, the incredible engineer here in Nashville.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, it's. It's great stuff. Lots of guitar sounds. And every once in a while I'll say, wait a minute. Oh, that's that Peter Frampton touch. You know, they're. I mean, I. There's certain guitar players. You hear him and you go, oh, wait a minute. Yeah. And there's. Wait, there's Peter. I can hear him there now does.
Julian Frampton
He's one of them. You can immediately tell it's him.
Tom Griswold
It's.
Bob Kevoian
That's pretty cool, though. Do you have your own touch already now? Julian, can your dad go. Wait a minute. Yeah, that's. Can he listen to the record and go away? Oh, that. That's Julian doing that.
Julian Frampton
Not playing. But I definitely have a stamp when it comes to my writing and my production style. But when. When it comes to playing, you know, I get by. But I definitely don't have a. You can't tell it's me immediately.
Peter Frampton
Well, I can.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, thanks. I don't know if that's a good
Josh Arnold
thing or a bad thing.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Turn that fade. Turn that fader down. That's not enough of me.
Josh Arnold
Hey, Julian, growing up, did your dad ever yell at you using the Framptone?
Julian Frampton
No.
Bob Kevoian
I wanted him to, but he never did.
Josh Arnold
Go to your room.
Bob Kevoian
Do you feel like going to your room?
Peter Frampton
Most people want to get right on my tube.
Drew Powell
I tell you about a nickel.
Bob Kevoian
Peter Frampton is our guest and his son Julian. And Julian has been doing a lot of his own music, and they got hooked up for this project, which is out there right now. And, Peter, you have been dealing with some health issues. I know. And how are things going? You seem to be nimble with your fingers. You're holding up a copy of the album right there.
Peter Frampton
Yes, I am.
Tom Griswold
It's called.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, it's called Carry the Light, and I love that song. And it's got kind of a. It sounds like the Lion King there at the beginning. You know what I mean?
Josh Arnold
You know what I'm saying?
Bob Kevoian
There's like this weird. Weird, you know, like a hookah hug. What's going on there? And then all of a sudden, it segues into this awesome song.
Josh Arnold
Gentlemen, Is Tom. Is Tom helping?
Tom Griswold
I was weird.
Show Announcer
In a good way.
Peter Frampton
That's what we were going for.
Tom Griswold
Dear God. He means well.
Peter Frampton
Have that happen.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
But it's just. It's just fun. But anyway, I'm sorry, I had a serious question. Your health. You doing okay? Your fingers nimble?
Peter Frampton
Sorry. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
No, I.
Peter Frampton
You know, it's. I'm very lucky that it's. The progression is. Is very slow.
Drew Powell
Hey.
Peter Frampton
You know, it's affecting my hands and my arms and my feet and everything. But. But you know what? I've had the best career, and I have the best family, and life is good. This is kind of the best time of my life. I mean, I wish. I wish when I was 20 that I had the. The. The way that I felt the way I do now. Obviously, we don't. But we grow up and. And this. This really has been. Especially the last year with. With working with Julian and all. The things that have happened, it's been like a whirlwind. And I'm so grateful that I'm still here making music, and. And I plan on doing it for as. As. As long as possible.
Bob Kevoian
Any. Any live dates coming up? I saw you live. I guess it was last winter. It was a great show. Are you going out live to play any of the stuff from Carry the Light?
Peter Frampton
I would love to, but right now we don't have anything booked. I'm kind of backing off this year a little bit. I wanted to just spend more time. We've got to. Actually, Julian's coming in August. Last couple of weeks of August, we're going to start finishing the second record because we had so much material that we had to choose 10 for this record. So we're like. We have half an album already in the can, so.
Josh Arnold
Yes, we do.
Peter Frampton
We want to finish it off now.
Bob Kevoian
Do you guys ever play live together? Have you done any?
Julian Frampton
I've sang with him on the road over the years, and my band has opened for him. I've opened for him, you know, when we've done, like, an acoustic gig and stuff like that. So, yeah, we've done it quite a few. Quite a few times over the years.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, that'd be kind of. I mean, that'd be really great if you got to do some of these songs live with each other on a stage.
Julian Frampton
Oh, yeah, Yeah. I hope there's an opportunity down the road for something like that. I really do. I think it would be a lot of fun.
Drew Powell
Hey, Tom. My name is Drew Powell. You've never heard of me, but I love the concept of playing with your son, because I've done that with my son. What do you remember the first time you guys played together? Like, how old were you?
Peter Frampton
Oh, God.
Julian Frampton
Oh, we. I think I started playing drums when I was, like, 8. So the first time we ever jammed, it made it easy to jam since he was playing guitar. So me. I mean, maybe by the time I was like, 10, we were jamming together and stuff. I mean, he was, you know, he was nice enough to let me jam with him, but I'm sure it was
Peter Frampton
Park's friend very quick. And. And we actually. He actually wrote a song while we were. When you. Before you'd even started playing guitar, right? Yeah, yeah, we were playing drums and we worked on it. That's the last time I was living
Tom Griswold
in Nashville, which is very hard, by the way, writing.
Drew Powell
Don't.
Tom Griswold
Don't do it.
Julian Frampton
Don't switch to guitar like I did.
Peter Frampton
No more Room on the skins.
Bob Kevoian
Do you remember the first time you saw your dad live in concert? Were you at the side of the stage or were you out there in the audience?
Julian Frampton
It blends. I just remember it always. Him being on stage, always being on a bus. That's kind of like how I grew up. I don't separate the two. I just, like. That was, you know, that's your love, remember? Yeah, that's it.
Bob Kevoian
Every time I talk with Mr. Frampton, I insist on doing something that's really annoying, knowing and. But I'll do it in just a second. But when I saw Peter Frampton live last time, he did it. And that is the first. The first time I saw Peter Frampton, he was in Hyde Park, London, with Humble Pie, opening for Grand Funk Railroad. I was in high school, and I happened to be in London visiting my sister. And it was the great Steve Marriott. And then, of course, there's a live album live at the Fillmore, where Mr. Marriott goes. I'll try my best.
Jess Hooker
Best.
Bob Kevoian
We go home on Monday. I just want to say this time
Jess Hooker
it's been a gas.
Bob Kevoian
It's really been a gas. And then they go into one of the greatest riffs of all time in the history of rock. I lose my mind.
Tom Griswold
Julian and I are rocking, ladies and gentlemen.
Bob Kevoian
So I just.
Show Announcer
I mean, it's.
Bob Kevoian
I listen to that record all the time. And when I'm on my way Walks with my Dogs or whatever, I'm singing out loud. So I went to see Peter, and I'm not giving anything away, but he plays the actual audio of. And he does a tribute to the great Steve Marriott. I. Peter, I lost my mind. I couldn't stand it. It was so great. But I just wanted everyone to check out the fact that Humble Pie has a bunch of great records out there, too. And of course, Mr. Frampton has some of the best albums ever made. And he's got a bunch of great new stuff and new music, and he's still going strong, which is so great, and we're so glad. And you've got a Humble Pie T shirt on, I've always wanted to know. Every once in a while, I'll see an artist that wears their own material. But the fact that you're kind of once removed from Humble Pie, I guess it's okay. Which I don't think you'd wear a Peter Frampton T shirt, would you?
Peter Frampton
No, no, no. And I wouldn't wear this out. It's just around the house.
Bob Kevoian
Well, if you're not familiar with the great Humble Pie. You should get familiar with it. Peter, real quick. There are some other guests on your record. Cheryl crow, Tom Morello, etc. Etc. Did they actually come in or was that all done digitally on the. Via email?
Peter Frampton
Cheryl was. Cheryl. Cheryl did like three minutes from me. And so it was easy to. Once she was excited to come and do the track. Track. I have a studio in Berry Hill here, apart from this. The. The sort of. The writing room here. And so I sent her a couple of tracks. And she chose that one and Breaking the mold. And she came down to my studio. I think it took her about 40 minutes. She's so good. And I can't thank all the people enough. I mean, Tom Morello, Graham Nash, her. You know. Who have I missed out?
Bob Kevoian
Ben Mon Trench, Tench and Bill Evans.
Peter Frampton
Bill Evans, sax player. Right. Yeah. I played with Miles.
Julian Frampton
This is why he needs me. You see,
Drew Powell
I really. I know how that.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, the old man forgets all the words. I know this. I remembered them.
Peter Frampton
So, you know, it's. I've been making them up in different words every night. No, no, no, he does. He completes me.
Julian Frampton
Thanks.
Peter Frampton
What is this?
Bob Kevoian
Jerry Maguire? Well, I'm glad that Julian not only has your musical skills, but your great sense of humor.
Drew Powell
Yes.
Bob Kevoian
People always ask me, who are the nicest guys you've ever talked to? And I always say the same. It's the same group of guys that are just amazing. One of Mr. Peter Frampton and I. I hope you get back on the road, Peter.
Peter Frampton
Me too.
Bob Kevoian
And if you do, wherever you are, we're gonna come see you.
Peter Frampton
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
And bother you. And bring Bigsby and bring Julian. Get him up there.
Julian Frampton
Yeah, bring me too. Yeah. Why are you bringing the dog?
Josh Arnold
First,
Peter Frampton
the favorite child went to sleep, so maybe I should ask him.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, one.
Drew Powell
One.
Bob Kevoian
One other oddball thing. I was on an airplane not too long ago. And I was trying to find something to watch. And I ended up watching this documentary about finding the original bass that Paul McCartney had. Had stolen. Have you seen that, Peter? No, I haven't. Well, it's. And it made me think about the great story of Peter Frampton's famous guitar. From the COVID of Frampton Comes Alive. And there's an amazing story about that guitar actually returning. Turning to Mr. Frampton's hands after being in a plane crash. And maybe, or maybe not getting nicked, as they say.
Peter Frampton
Oh, I got nicked.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. Yeah. This. The thing about. Of this. I know this sounds incredibly boring. The story of finding Paul McCartney's guitar is amazing. And you and you can. And a bunch of real casual backstage Paul McCartney stuff. You realize what a great guy he is and what a cool guy he is when not, you know, not being bothered by. Hey, were you in the Beat Beatles? I highly recommend that documentary. And also do a little research. Find out the story of Peter's guitar. Peter, Special hello to Bigsby, and so glad you're doing well. It was a great pleasure meeting you, Julian.
Julian Frampton
Yeah, it's good to meet. It's actually good to see you. I was on the show, like, 15 years ago,
Bob Kevoian
but it's, you know, it's good.
Julian Frampton
I'm glad everyone's doing the research.
Bob Kevoian
He's a comedian.
Augie Smith
Yeah.
Pat Godwin
All right.
Bob Kevoian
Thank you. Gentlemen, the Framptons, ladies and gentlemen.
Augie Smith
Thank you.
Julian Frampton
Thank you so much, guys.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. New album available everywhere.
Bob Kevoian
It's called Carry the Light.
Jess Hooker
Awesome.
Bob Kevoian
Great stuff.
Drew Powell
That's fantastic. Come on, man.
Bob Kevoian
I mean, what a nice. Can't you. How do you stand it when someone's that nice?
Drew Powell
I know. And, like, loves their son and that's cool.
Jess Hooker
And their kids cool, too.
Drew Powell
Kids cool.
Bob Kevoian
Very funny.
Zachary Spicer
That's the dream, right?
Bob Kevoian
Yes.
Jess Hooker
That's the goal, man.
Drew Powell
Hell, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Now, who you've worked with? Some super famous people.
Drew Powell
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Any that are especially, I love.
Drew Powell
I. I just worked with Mark Ruffalo. That dude was really great. He was.
Bob Kevoian
Did you see the TV series Task?
Show Announcer
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Drew Powell
That was really good.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah. The guy in that. That plays the kind of the good bad guy.
Drew Powell
Tom Pelfrey.
Bob Kevoian
That guy. I was terrified of him watching the tv. Tv, yeah. God, is that guy. That guy is scary.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Now, would you be a good scary guy?
Augie Smith
Are you.
Drew Powell
Oh, I've had some practice doing that. Yeah. Yeah. I just worked with the. Jamie McShane, who was the older biker in Task, you know, terrifying in the thing in the river.
Bob Kevoian
Yeah, yeah, that guy.
Drew Powell
But he's the sweetest guy, too. Like. Like. Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean, be a bad guy?
Tom Griswold
He punched a nerd.
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean?
Tom Griswold
Of course he can be a bad guy.
Bob Kevoian
Maybe she deserved it.
Zachary Spicer
Can he be a good guy?
Jess Hooker
Didn't you play a preacher?
Drew Powell
Yes, I played a preacher.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. That's what I thought.
Drew Powell
Yeah. And I've played. There's nothing. I have the character actor. That's what you do.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Drew Powell
I'll play it, whatever it is. Let's go. Yeah. Are you gonna pay me in real money?
Bob Kevoian
Okay, let's go. Okay. We're gonna come back and talk to these guys about their movie project they're working on. A movie. It's called Little Five. It looks like a great, I mean, just a great show, a great idea, a great story. And we'll find out a little bit more about the inner workings of making a. Making a big time, big time movie.
Tom Griswold
But first, simply safe. That's right. You know, in the United States there's a break in every 26 seconds. That means somewhere right now an intruder is getting closer to your stuff. Traditional home security only alerts you after a break. INS already happened and that is too late. Simply safe change and all that. Using advanced AI alerts, US based live agents identify threats on your property and help deter them so the intruder never gets into your home. The crime has stopped before it even stopped before it even starts. And I use SimpliSafe at the compound at home and we use it here at the Bob and Tom studios. There's no long term contract, no lock ins, no hidden cancellation fees. And SimpliSafe's affordable pricing, monitoring and deterrence plans starting at around a dollar a day. And the same setup experience. I've done it two or three times. It's oh so easy. If I can do it, you can do it. And we'd like you to experience the same peace of mind we all do. Which is why we have partnered with SimpliSafe to offer Bob and Tom listeners an exclusive discount. Right now you can get 50% off your new system just by visiting simplisafetom.com that's half off. 50% off. Just go to SimpliSafe tomorrow. There's no safe like simply safe.
Bob Kevoian
And by the way, I was talking about documentaries. There's a great documentary about Peter Frampton and it's called Frampton. It's out there right now. I'll give you some details that when we come Back to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Show Announcer
Just gotta get a hold of us. Call, text or email. Get all the contact information you need@bobandtom.com this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios at the news desk. It's Jess Hooker. Hello, there's Josh Arnold. Hi, There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick McGee. Hello. Tom, we've got guests in the studio.
Bob Kevoian
You got Godwin through the glass there.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, Pat Godwin. Hey, man.
Bob Kevoian
Hey, dude.
Tom Griswold
And here's Tom.
Bob Kevoian
Thanks very much. We just got off the phone with Peter Frampton. Once again, there is a terrific documentary out there called Frampton. I highly recommend it. It's about Peter and the heyday and then a bunch of stuff that happened to him afterward. And now he's doing great, dealing with some stuff and got a great new album out there and more. It's always a great pleasure to talk with Peter. Joining us in the studio, we have actor Drew Powell.
Drew Powell
Hello.
Bob Kevoian
Yes. He's the guy that punches the nurse.
Augie Smith
Nurse.
Bob Kevoian
If you've been watching the pit, if
Josh Arnold
you haven't, sorry for the spoiler.
Peter Frampton
Yeah.
Julian Frampton
Why did we need to.
Zachary Spicer
Do you have a hard time in hospitals now?
Drew Powell
No, because I've become a nurse advocate. I like that is my new thing, the number of stories where women. These nurses have come up to me and said, oh, I've had much worse than that.
Zachary Spicer
Really?
Drew Powell
Yeah. It's like, okay, enough of this. We gotta fix it.
Bob Kevoian
That's the voice of Zachary Spicer. This show, Zach. We like to mention incredibly obscure things. So I mentioned this earlier and got nothing. I thought a couple of our cinephiles. Is that what you call yourself, Josh?
Tom Griswold
Well, let's see. Continue. I know what you're going to say, but go ahead and.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I don't even think Jack Nicholson would have gotten this.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
There's a scene in a movie where the woman's going, spicer. Spicer.
Tom Griswold
Oh, well, it's a prominent line like that. What were we thinking?
Josh Arnold
The movie is Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, great movie.
Drew Powell
I love that movie.
Bob Kevoian
Remember the.
Josh Arnold
Do you remember?
Zachary Spicer
It's my last name, and I don't
Tom Griswold
even remember that it's his last name. And it just came out 56 years ago. Yeah.
Zachary Spicer
So it's hot off the.
Bob Kevoian
I just thought if it.
Tom Griswold
If top of mind.
Bob Kevoian
If my last name was Spicer, I would have remembered it anyway. It's a great scene.
Tom Griswold
Well, you know, who was it? Somebody versus Griswold. Griswold. It's a landmark. Supreme Court.
Bob Kevoian
Oh, Griswold versus Connecticut.
Tom Griswold
There it is. Right.
Bob Kevoian
Who can forget the whole state of
Tom Griswold
Connecticut can't stand you
Bob Kevoian
guys are making a movie called Little Five and it's
Josh Arnold
about Johnny Five as a baby prequel to Short Circuit.
Tom Griswold
Little Five is alive
Bob Kevoian
and it's about the little 500 kind of made fame famous in the movie Breaking Away.
Zachary Spicer
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
That's the only for the first time.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
When.
Zachary Spicer
Whenever you talk to people from not Indiana and you say you're from Indiana, they're like, oh, Breaking Away.
Drew Powell
It's like.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, it's a large.
Josh Arnold
So for those that don't know. What does little five refer to?
Zachary Spicer
It refers to the little 500, which was a bicycle race that got started down there in Bloomington in 1954. And you know, it's set off of the Indy 500. So, you know, they, there's 33 teams and they race around the track. The men race around for 200 laps, the women race around for 100. And it's this massive cultural event and it's turned over the years. In the 80s, it was dubbed as the world's greatest college weekend because it is literally a week long party. The city just shuts down.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Which is awesome.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
And your movie is going to feature. You mentioned there's some cameo stuff involving Mr. Mellencamp.
Tom Griswold
Uhhuh.
Bob Kevoian
And at that first one, I think this is really cool. Adam Sandler.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Was down there. Was he. Was he working for mtv?
Zachary Spicer
He was working for mtv, yeah. MTV used to go down there, cover the world's greatest college weekend and all the spring break antics that would be happening around town.
Bob Kevoian
That was the heyday of mtv.
Zachary Spicer
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And so we got in touch with them before they, you know, before they closed shop and licensed all of their footage and everything. Everything from when they were down there. It's really amazing. It's. It's transformative. You just get thrown back into the mid-80s. It's the coolest thing.
Bob Kevoian
So do the, do you have to. Obviously everybody's got to be wearing the appropriate clothes.
Zachary Spicer
Oh yeah.
Drew Powell
I can't wait to see what my 80s looks gonna be. I haven't met with.
Zachary Spicer
It's a dress.
Bob Kevoian
Are you gonna. I was just gonna say, are you gonna have the beard?
Chick McGee
I don't know.
Drew Powell
You gotta ask the producer.
Bob Kevoian
Is that an 80s?
Zachary Spicer
I think so.
Bob Kevoian
Really?
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Drew Powell
He's kind of a. He's a. A Indiana. I don't know about blue collar, but like, he's an Indiana guy.
Jess Hooker
And.
Drew Powell
Yeah, it's really, it's a, It's a very. They've written this really cool thing because it's, you know, it's. There's a lot of layers to it. The family thing. My, My wife has passed and so I'm living with her dad.
Bob Kevoian
This is your character, by the way.
Drew Powell
Yes, hello.
Bob Kevoian
Your wife.
Tom Griswold
You killed me off.
Drew Powell
Yeah. She still talks about you guys doing the freaking Charlie Brown.
Tom Griswold
I don't know what you're talking about.
Bob Kevoian
It was a joke.
Drew Powell
It was a joke. It was a joke. She loves it. But yeah, it's really, it's. It's Great. And the. And the. There's. There's another character in there that's going to be played by an actor to be named later. That is really cool. There's just a lot of great surprises.
Josh Arnold
An actor to be named later. Pat Godwin. I heard that.
Drew Powell
We loved your audition, Pat.
Chick McGee
Thank you. It was a little much, but, yeah.
Zachary Spicer
No, there's a lot of crying in this uplifting sports movie.
Josh Arnold
Is the most expensive thing in a production like that, making sure everything's period correct.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, 100% the way that we're doing this movie, we're filming it like they would have filmed it in the 80s. So we're shooting on film and. Yeah, yeah, we are. And we've got. So tomorrow when we're at assembly hall, we're actually bringing in a VistaVision camera.
Josh Arnold
No kidding.
Zachary Spicer
Which is never stepping foot here in Indiana. It's what they used to. I mean, the Searchers. The Searchers was like one of the original movies on VistaVision. Vertigo.
Tom Griswold
How cool is that?
Zachary Spicer
And the one that we're filming with was one of the cameras on one battle after another that they filmed on.
Josh Arnold
And they brought that. That whole sequence is amazing, that whole thing back.
Zachary Spicer
So we're doing that. And then the cool thing is, is like anybody that's ever been to Bloomington, it doesn't look anything like it did now, you know, back in the 80s. And so what we're doing doing is. Is we're building all of the model sets like they used to do in the 70s and 80s, like for Star wars and everything. You know, they would shoot these tiny miniatures and then, you know, and make it. Make it look like a massive set
Bob Kevoian
and so you're gonna shrink, Drew?
Drew Powell
Yeah, People have tried.
Josh Arnold
It's hard.
Tom Griswold
Just like the Fantastic Voyage.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, but it's so. I mean, that's where. That's where it sinks all the money. Funny, you know?
Show Announcer
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
But it's gonna look amazing.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, it's gonna be incredible.
Julian Frampton
Yeah.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah.
Drew Powell
It's cool to come on here. We got some people that really know ball in here when it comes to movies.
Zachary Spicer
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Drew Powell
These guys know what they're talking about.
Bob Kevoian
No, I got Five Easy Pieces. Yeah, other than that I want to do. I want to. I want to see. I want to give you guys more obscure stuff. So you.
Drew Powell
You.
Bob Kevoian
You'll leave here with something to remember.
Tom Griswold
What the hell was that?
Julian Frampton
You're.
Bob Kevoian
You're gonna go watch Five Easy Pieces and go, oh, the Spicer scene is crazy. Now this is. This is an obituary kind of. I'm gonna play something. I want to see if you recognize what this is.
Zachary Spicer
Okay?
Bob Kevoian
This is from Hollywood.
Tom Griswold
Just push the button.
Bob Kevoian
Here we go. I'm Dick Black.
Josh Arnold
You're doing a porno movie, right?
Jess Hooker
Right.
Drew Powell
Then I'm the man for you.
Peter Frampton
I'm glad to meet you, Mr. Black,
Bob Kevoian
but I'm afraid you're not exactly the type. We're looking for George C. Scott.
Drew Powell
You mean because I'm.
Chick McGee
No, he's just not the type.
Bob Kevoian
What do you mean not the type?
Drew Powell
Man, don't you know who I am?
Chick McGee
I'm Big Dick Black.
Drew Powell
I've done more porno movies than you ever saw.
Bob Kevoian
I work with Harry Reams, Johnny W. Not the type.
Josh Arnold
I'm a woman's dream.
Peter Frampton
I'm sorry, Mr. Black, I'm sure you're very good, but at the moment I
Bob Kevoian
just don't have anything for you.
Peter Frampton
Something comes up, I'll be happy to
Show Announcer
give you a call.
Drew Powell
I knew this was a scam.
Josh Arnold
This is bull.
Bob Kevoian
No, it is.
Zachary Spicer
No.
Drew Powell
Was that Mr. T?
Bob Kevoian
Good guess. That was actually the great actor Hal Williams, who passed away last week. You may remember him from the Waltons.
Zachary Spicer
Oh, yeah.
Bob Kevoian
Private Benjamin227.
Josh Arnold
At this point. At this point, he's most famous for this show.
Bob Kevoian
I'm slowing it down.
Show Announcer
That's.
Bob Kevoian
That's the movie Hardcore.
Zachary Spicer
Okay.
Bob Kevoian
The great scene with George C. Scott where he comes in auditioning. Cuz you've been to auditions?
Drew Powell
Oh, yeah. I auditioned for freaking the Odyssey and it was hard to watch that yesterday. I'm like, oh, it could have been meat him out.
Bob Kevoian
I don't think you could have been Big Dick Black.
Drew Powell
Yeah, right.
Bob Kevoian
That'd be a lot of makeup. Very controversial. Best of luck with Little Five. I want to keep hearing more about it. Sounds like fun. Thanks for joining us today. These are the O'Reilly. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
