Tom Griswold
It's the bob and tom show.
Christy Lee
Hurry up and wash for dinner, Billy. We're having your favorites. Sloppy Joe's, corn on the cob and chocolate fudge cake.
Jess Hooker
Aw, mom, that stuff blows. Why can't we have fried dough or elephant ears like when the carnival's in town?
Christy Lee
I've told you before, Billy, making carnival food requires special equipment that I don't have here in the kitchen. We just can't make it at home.
Tom Griswold
Now hold on there, Mrs. Petowski. Thanks to the all new grease and art, you can enjoy your favorite midway foods in the comfort of your own home.
Christy Lee
A greasy nart?
Tom Griswold
Yes, the good people at Frigama all industries have designed a single appliance that prepares all the delicacies you normally associate with circuses, carnivals, county and state fairs. Just think, now you can prepare fried dough, fried cheese, cheese on a stick, dough on a stick, corn dogs, dough dogs, fried dough poppers, fried weasel on a stick, and so much more right here at home.
Christy Lee
But how is that possible?
Tom Griswold
The Greasenart is a combination dough processor and deep fryer with hot grease fat and top mounted hot grease trays with built in grease injectors. The problem you have cooking at home is that you can get your grease hot. But not hot enough. Not disfiguring hot anyway. And that's what sears in that special carnival flavor.
Jess Hooker
Mommy, this corn dog burns and it tastes like tattoos.
Tom Griswold
Sure it does, Billy. The smell of the midway oozes out of every bite.
Jess Hooker
It's perfect.
Christy Lee
But aren't all those foods deep fried in hot grease awfully fattening?
Tom Griswold
Just ask yourself this. Have you ever seen a plump carnie?
Christy Lee
Now that you mention it, no. They all have a stringy drifter's build with sharp inbred rat like features.
Tom Griswold
Exactly. And this product is 100% Kearny tested and Kearny approved the same technology which Kearney folk harness to become pioneers in the field of stick mounted foods. In is perfected in the Greasenart. And the Greasenart's handy size means it fits in any kitchen. Why, it's no bigger than freak show veteran Bugzo, the human torso, the famous legless armless dwarf. And just look how little counter space he takes up. Right, Bugzo, huh?
Christy Lee
Yeah, right.
Jess Hooker
I'm laying in something really sticky up
Chick McGee
here and I don't think it's me, lady.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Christy Lee
He takes up almost no space at all on my kitchen shelf.
Tom Griswold
Order your grease and art today and you'll win this giant stuffed dinosaur associated with Barney and Barney Enterprises Incorporated. Come on, what do you say? Nobody's a loser. Step right up, give it a try. Hurry, hurry, take a chance.
Jess Hooker
Gee, when I grow up, I want to be a carny.
Tom Griswold
Why wait, Billy? You can drop out of school and join now. I know they're looking for someone to comb the fleas out of Gabora the Gorilla Girl and to sell bootleg cigarettes from the back of the ring toss game.
Jess Hooker
Oh, boy.
Christy Lee
Can I, Mom? Please, can I? I guess it'll be all right. You just be sure to eat up all your deep fried vegetables on a stick and do whatever the carnies tell you to do.
Tom Griswold
Come on, Billy, I'll drive you over myself. We just have one quick stop. Have you ever shoplifted porno magazines while the liquor store clerk is being distracted, Billy?
Chick McGee
Not yet, I haven't.
Tom Griswold
The grease and art available now from Frigatemall Industries or wherever carnies congregate. Oh, yes, it is that time. Oh, state fairs, county fairs. Hey, from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, it's the Bob and Tom Show. Christy Lee at the news desk. Hi, there's Josh Arnold. Oh, there's Ace Cosby. Hello, Tom. Taking his preoccupied outlook sort of a new level today.
Chick McGee
Sanitizing.
Tom Griswold
He was blowing and sanitizing. Sanitizing. Right before we go in the air, you're blowing stuff.
Chick McGee
Clean show, huh? Got everything ready over here.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Chick McGee
All is well. Got my band aid. Ready to move forward.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, he cut his arm in the Bahamas somehow. Oh, I'm sorry. There's a huge gash in his arm is what he says. Oh, hold it up. Can you.
Chick McGee
No, no, no.
Tom Griswold
Show us the huge gash.
Chick McGee
It was a huge gas. Now, I've seen a huge gash in my day.
Tom Griswold
I think we've all usually accompanied with
Chick McGee
an odor, but let's just move forward.
Jess Hooker
Say it twice, you know why you got that? Here's our letter. First one from Joel. What do you expect when you vacation in the Bermuda Triangle, Tom?
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah. All kinds of weirdness.
Chick McGee
Are the Bahamas in the Bermuda. Bermuda Triangle.
Josh Arnold
Close enough.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, kind of, sorta yeah.
Chick McGee
Is it in Bermuda, like a thousand miles?
Josh Arnold
Never mind all that triangle big, my friend.
Chick McGee
Okay, okay, good.
Tom Griswold
All right. Oh, well, just not in Bermuda.
Al Jackson
No.
Chick McGee
Good to be back. I've been to Bermuda. It's a great place. Really? Oh, yeah. Hottest I've ever been in my life. Except for Vegas.
Tom Griswold
Bermuda.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Chick McGee
Well, the one. I've been there a couple, three times. But the one time I was there, it was, I mean, over a hundred and very humid that one particular day. Well, no wonder they always wear shorts in Vegas. One time we were there, it was 107, and I remember we decided we were gonna walk the Strip, and for some reason, it looked like, oh, we're just going to that one right there. That casino. And it is a lot farther away than.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yes. The Vegas Delusion, we call it.
Chick McGee
Yeah. And that's a.
Tom Griswold
Well, it's right over there. No, it's just so damn big. You think it's right over there?
Chick McGee
Yeah, it was very, very hot. It's gonna be hot in a lot of places. But I have a question for you.
Josh Arnold
Yes, please. Are you a.
Chick McGee
Just. Let's just say you're on a nice weekend with a lady friend.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Are you a talker first thing in the morning, or do you like to be left alone?
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, no, I like to be left alone.
Jess Hooker
I think we all knew that.
Chick McGee
Yeah, No, I. And I. My association with my wife now. Yeah. She does not. She's not a talker first thing.
Tom Griswold
Not. Not a morning person.
Chick McGee
Well, she might be a morning person, but that. That first. That first few minutes, I'm not.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. I'm. Well, I'm totally quiet. Yeah, I don't.
Jess Hooker
Me too.
Tom Griswold
Ideally, I don't say anything to anybody except the puppy dogs.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Let's see. That's the thing.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So while you were on vacation, you wanted to chat right away.
Tom Griswold
Is that what happened?
Chick McGee
Oh, no, no, no.
Tom Griswold
Were you told to shut up at any point?
Chick McGee
No, no. I've learned.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
There's no.
Tom Griswold
I understand there was an incident involving you and your gum chewing. I heard something about that. You might have been.
Jess Hooker
You do chew your gum pretty loud.
Chick McGee
Well, yeah, I have to chew, Tom. Doctor's orders.
Tom Griswold
He.
Jess Hooker
There is a way.
Tom Griswold
I say I like.
Josh Arnold
He chooses gum lustily.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Josh Arnold
You can tell the man is enjoying it. He.
Tom Griswold
He eats like he's in prison. You got 10 minutes to finish it. That's the way he eats.
Josh Arnold
I say chew away.
Chick McGee
Oh, thank you.
Tom Griswold
His. His background, family, beyond reproach. My goodness. But he eats like a homeless person who's never had a meal. It's unbelievable.
Chick McGee
How about you, Christy? First thing in the morning? Do not. Not like a work morning where you're up at 3 in the morning. But no, you're.
Christy Lee
You're.
Chick McGee
You and your man are on a little vacation. Do you say something to him first thing, or do you not really go about your business and.
Jess Hooker
No, I'm. I'm quiet in the morning.
Chick McGee
He doesn't come over to you and smother you with kisses and tell you about what he's got planned for the day or.
Jess Hooker
No, not that I recall.
Tom Griswold
Time to play hide the shillelagh or something?
Chick McGee
No, no, I didn't mean. I didn't mean to get into a romantic thing. I just. Just. Just curious about the. Yeah. Not everybody likes to chat. My dogs enjoy a nice chat, though. That's the good thing.
Jess Hooker
What do you have to chat about first thing in the morning with a
Chick McGee
dog, with your wife?
Tom Griswold
All kinds of things.
Jess Hooker
What do you want to do?
Chick McGee
Oh, no, I've learned I don't chat about anything.
Jess Hooker
But if you could, what would you say? Like, wake up and go, hey, what are we going to do today? What do we got planned? I mean, is that.
Tom Griswold
Sure, I don't know how you sneak around and don't wake up.
Chick McGee
Anyway, I'm great at it.
Tom Griswold
Because when he's in here in the morning, he sneezes louder than anybody ever on earth. He yawns. Once again, lustily yawns. Everything's like a big noise. He just loves it.
Chick McGee
I don't. I don't flush the toilet in the morning.
Jess Hooker
What?
Tom Griswold
Wow. What if it's a major.
Chick McGee
If it's going to be a major transaction, I go to a different room.
Tom Griswold
Is that right?
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I hope there's a toilet in there.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, my God.
Josh Arnold
On the centerpiece again.
Tom Griswold
Oh, boy. Oh, boy.
Chick McGee
I shouldn't have gone in that way.
Tom Griswold
But anyway.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
You don't flush the toilet. Is it that loud?
Chick McGee
I'm just. I just creep around.
Tom Griswold
Well, flushing a toilet. Flushing is kind of loud. Yeah. So.
Chick McGee
Yeah, well, yeah, I just. I'm very respectful and I. I can open the door like a burglar.
Jess Hooker
After you. When she gets up.
Chick McGee
I'm not there. I don't know. I assume.
Jess Hooker
Well, is it still there when you go back home?
Chick McGee
It's just urine. It's not going to kill anybody. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
If you leave it, there'll be an odor and a smell from the urine.
Chick McGee
Well, I haven't had any complaints about that. I'm sure if it did not meet the standards she ascertained, I would have received a mem.
Josh Arnold
Okay. You would have heard about it.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Okay. I'm just.
Tom Griswold
No way to live. Boy.
Christy Lee
Just.
Chick McGee
Just creep around. Well, for those listening early. Thank you.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. And I hope you out there, you don't have to talk, just listen to us.
Chick McGee
But there's probably someone with a muffled radio so they don't wake up their significant other.
Jess Hooker
Do you talk to the kiddies when you wake up?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I do. Because they. They're raring to go.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. They see you. It's. It's party time.
Josh Arnold
They don't respect you.
Jess Hooker
I move when I get up. They lay there and look at me like I am not moving. Crazy lady.
Josh Arnold
My gravy typically wakes me up. Oh, yeah, she's.
Jess Hooker
She's on your schedule, ready to go.
Josh Arnold
Jumps right on my chest. Scares me. It's very alarming. Hurts a little bit.
Chick McGee
So when. When they perform the autopsy, they're gonna go. It's interesting.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yes. Cardiac arrest. But apparently, you see these cat claws. I'm not sure what. What caused that.
Tom Griswold
What happened?
Chick McGee
Well, coming up, we have a lot of interesting things, including one of my favorites. Comedian Greg Hahn will be joining us in the studio.
Tom Griswold
Goodness.
Chick McGee
And then tomorrow we're going to have a very extra special duo of bluegrass players, and they're going to be accompanying Mr. Pat Godwin. Pat still can't play guitar because he's recovering from shoulder surgery. So we are bringing in a very fine guitar player and a world class. World class fiddler. Yes.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
He does. He does know.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
And he will not be here today. He's still recovering from his surgery. Had to have a. Some kind of procedure yesterday.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Some sort of bump in the road yesterday.
Chick McGee
But he'll be here tomorrow singing and dancing.
Tom Griswold
Oh, we're not sure about dancing. Okay.
Chick McGee
Okay. And also while coming up today, a strikingly shocking story in the world of news.
Tom Griswold
Shocking.
Chick McGee
Yeah. I mean, just. You know what I'm talking about.
Jess Hooker
Of course I do. And I went, oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
At first I thought, oh, we can't do this. This isn't. Oh, it's rough. But we'll warn you, you know, they do that all the time now.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Chick McGee
The following story may contain gunshots.
Tom Griswold
This might be hard.
Jess Hooker
Disturbing. Disturbing.
Chick McGee
Yeah. This is. We have a truly disturbing story. A little bit. It's not coming right now. So you're okay. I don't worry about that. Also, we have something new from Reese's.
Tom Griswold
Reese PC.
Chick McGee
Their first new product in more than a decade.
Josh Arnold
No kidding. Huh?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Do they count, like, Nutrageous as a new product or.
Chick McGee
I don't know when that came out.
Tom Griswold
The candy.
Chick McGee
According to this press release, we also have a great world record. I thought you'd like this one. Well, right up your alley. It's one of the things you do all the time. We have.
Tom Griswold
All the time.
Chick McGee
We have sideburns in the news.
Tom Griswold
Well, I'm going to now, though.
Jess Hooker
Sideburns in the news. Yeah, I wrote that for you, didn't they?
Chick McGee
Huh? And then we have a cool, cool sheep story coming up
Tom Griswold
that you're fascinated by.
Chick McGee
Oh, I think it's amazing.
Tom Griswold
It's amazing.
Chick McGee
It's a scientific study involving sheep that is going to blow your mind.
Tom Griswold
Did they clone another one?
Chick McGee
No, it's not a clone. It's something that they didn't know sheep could do. That they can do. That's quite surprising.
Jess Hooker
Taxes.
Tom Griswold
Did you know that take messages over the phone?
Chick McGee
Just about. Yeah. This is all some of the fun stuff that's on the way. A sports preview.
Tom Griswold
Well, the World cup idol yesterday, we got matches tonight and Friday and Saturday and there's a fairy tale brewing at Wimbledon. Arthur Ferry grew up five minutes from the all England Wimbledon Tennis Club.
Chick McGee
And that's great.
Tom Griswold
He's 114th ranked player and now he's a wild card invitation and beat 9th, 9th seed Flavio Cabali on center court last night. And he's into the. He'll play Alexander Zverev in Friday semifinals. It's a storybook story in England. One of. One of their own grew up shadow of Wimbledon.
Chick McGee
That'd be great.
Tom Griswold
Yes. Fascinating.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Now let's see. Also coming up we have a really cool elephant story that I mentioned that.
Josh Arnold
No, no.
Chick McGee
Yeah, really a really, a great wild elephant story on a T. Rex story. So there's a lot.
Tom Griswold
Are they fascinating elephants and the fascinating sheep. Are they. Do they meet somewhere or.
Jess Hooker
No, no.
Chick McGee
But what they have found out about sheep I think may also be true of elephants.
Greg Hahn
All right.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Chick McGee
So.
Tom Griswold
Well, we're not going to skin elephants and use them for sweaters, are we?
Jess Hooker
No, it would be stiff.
Tom Griswold
All we do for sure.
Greg Hahn
That's nice.
Josh Arnold
Is that real elephant?
Tom Griswold
Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
Do they make like elephant vests?
Josh Arnold
I sure hope not.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
No, it's hide though, I think.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. I mean, it's got to be thick, right?
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Because you know, you know, Bezos probably has a wallet made out of what, baby seal, an elephant, unborn pandas. There has to be a point at which, you know, what do you get the guy? Well, we, we got him a baby, A baby seal wallet. It was $8,000.
Josh Arnold
Oh, it's. It's plush.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Right. Now, speaking of money, money is a little tight and judging by the way things are going, may get a lot tighter. Gas prices are up there. They were going down. That may be over groceries. Up, up, up. Insurance. I paid an insurance bill the other day is like, whoa. So you may have noticed that. I hope things are going well for you, but perhaps you're getting through all this stuff by putting a lot of money on a credit card. You've got a lot of credit card debt. You probably hear a lot of commercials about, do I have credit card? Well, here's something you may not know about. You may have a lot of equity in your home and you may be able to refinance it and grab some of that cash and maybe pay off those credit cards, whatever it might be that you could use money for. And you're saying to yourself, wait a minute, interest rates are higher than they were when I got my mortgage, blah, blah, blah. Well, the way things are going, if you're paying off a lot of credit card debt, you're probably paying 20, 25% interest. So that's some serious, serious money you're throwing away. This is where American Financing comes in. They can do a refi on your home. And right now their average customer is saving about 800 bucks a month on that mortgage payment. So the way that works is they're pulling out some cash and using that equity to pay off credit cards or whatever and they're just doing a refi. So this might suit you. It depends on your situation. Depends how long you've owned your home. If it's maybe five years, it's probably worth 30, 40% more than it was. If it's 10 years, you've had it, it's probably doubled in value. So see what's going on. They can walk you through this. No obligation, of course. Call American Financing and they have salary based mortgage consultants that in about 10 minutes can tell you whether or not it might work for you. So give it a shot. If you're thinking about trying to grab some cash out of that equity and take advantage of it without actually selling your house, you can call them at 866-889-2611. Once again, that's 866-889-2611. Hard to remember the phone number. Then just go to the website. It's American financing.net Do me a favor, put Bob and Tom so they know that you heard about it from us. Chick McGee
Yesterday we had a, we did our Today in History segment and the name Rockefeller came up because oddly enough, it was the, the birthday of John D. Rockefeller, born in 1839, the founder of Standard Oil. And at one, at one point, I think he was considered to be the richest person on earth.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And then his grandson, Nelson Rockefeller, Nelson Rockefeller, famous politician and he was vice president. I, I want to say he was vice president under Gerald Ford in that kind of weird post Nixon era.
Tom Griswold
And there was a time that all stand up comedians had to do a Nelson Rockefeller impersonation to get on stage. Actually. Yeah, just very wild time.
Chick McGee
Just before the Jack Nicholson era.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, just before, you know, holding your hair back.
Chick McGee
And then that was before the see who was next?
Josh Arnold
Hannibal Lecter was big for a while there.
Tom Griswold
Hannibal Lecter, Yes.
Jess Hooker
Clarice Rockefeller served from 74 to 77 under Ford, died in 79.
Chick McGee
Well, then.
Tom Griswold
And then.
Chick McGee
Yeah. So Nelson Rockefeller, it was also his birthday many years in 1908. So. But the reason it came up is that Nelson Rockefeller famously died under sort of odd circumstances at the age of 70 with his aide, a young Megan Marshak.
Tom Griswold
Maybe she was
Josh Arnold
Megan Marshak dead body.
Chick McGee
And she. She never dead. Robbie. There were a lot of jokes about how long. How long did it take her to dress a dead guy, but maybe he was just work.
Tom Griswold
She was just putting in some overtime, huh? You don't know.
Chick McGee
In any event, I got this letter from Mr. Lennon in Piedmont, S.C. in Golf. A Rockefeller in golf is a pup that dies in the hole.
Josh Arnold
Oh.
Chick McGee
So for those of you of a certain age, that's one of the classic golf slang terms.
Tom Griswold
So every shot that goes in the hole is a rock.
Jess Hooker
His death was quite. Apparently that happened in the late evening with Megan Marshak. She called her friend, who was a news reporter to the townhouse. They didn't call for an ambulance until approximately one hour later.
Chick McGee
Well, again, how long does. How long does it take two young ladies to dress a dead guy?
Tom Griswold
Had to get the leather off of him and then they got the smile off his face and put the animals back in the barn.
Josh Arnold
That gimp mask really sticks.
Jess Hooker
You gotta help me.
Chick McGee
Now, I know you play golf a little bit, Christy. Now you know you've got your Mulligan and you've got your Rockefeller.
Jess Hooker
Yep.
Chick McGee
A lot of great. A lot of great slang terms in the world of golf. You got a letter over there, Chick McGee.
Tom Griswold
Dear Bob and Tom Show. This is from Jackie. Jackie in Nebraska. J, A, C, K I. So I'm guessing a female Jackie. I don't want to bother you guys, but did we need to know, did Tom wear Kelly's underwear on this vacation?
Chick McGee
A fair question.
Tom Griswold
No, I did not start before.
Chick McGee
I think I did take my linen beach pants.
Tom Griswold
Your beach pants? Your cabana wear.
Chick McGee
And as you may know, on my prior trip, I had my traditional black underwear and I had to wear Kelly's underwear. So they didn't show through? No, I purchased. I went online and purchased a pair of my flesh tone Jockeys.
Tom Griswold
Your flesh tone?
Jess Hooker
You mean white?
Chick McGee
That's very funny, Chris. You know, they're a kind of a beige parchment ivory.
Tom Griswold
A little bit of color.
Chick McGee
Yes, that certainly is a fair question.
Tom Griswold
Do dark hair people, when they have dark pubic hair, when they wear a linen, will it show? I bet it does. Right.
Jess Hooker
And wear underwear yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Josh Arnold
Even a linen shirt, you'll see the chest hair. So you must. That's true.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
A lot of linen pants are lined though, especially the white.
Tom Griswold
What is the purpose of linen? I kind of got into linen a
Chick McGee
little bit, but it's. It props up the ironing industry.
Tom Griswold
Yes, I think it does.
Jess Hooker
No, you just wear. It wrinkles.
Tom Griswold
You just look at it and it wrinkles.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
But then you're told, oh, no, it's. Look, it looks good with a little wrinkly. No, it's still wrinkled. Yeah.
Chick McGee
I don't know, it breathes. It's very nice. But certainly a fair question and thank you for asking. No, I have a. I bought two pair of. Yeah, I'm only going to wear them
Jess Hooker
with the linen pants.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Why don't you wear your linen pants in here one day for us as a treat.
Tom Griswold
Wouldn't that be fun?
Greg Hahn
Do.
Jess Hooker
Do a beach wear day. We'll all do a bear.
Josh Arnold
See if we can see the imprint of that hog.
Chick McGee
Happy to. Happy to help.
Tom Griswold
Triangle of fun.
Chick McGee
Yesterday we had a. A very odd story about breast implants. The essence of the story is I remember in Russia breast implants have become much less popular and apparently women are selling the used ones once. The. What are they? What do you call them? The, the, the bags. Whatever they're called.
Jess Hooker
Breast implants.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, fun bags.
Chick McGee
No, no, but when the hammers, when
Josh Arnold
they're removed, I think those are called the implant.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, the implant.
Chick McGee
They're being sold in the black market. We found out that that's not legal in the United States to reuse them. But the. What would. You found out how much a fake boob cost?
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Wasn't it like twelve hundred dollars for the set?
Tom Griswold
Well, I've got eighteen to twenty five hundred, I thought.
Chick McGee
And that's without the installation.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, without the install because you got.
Chick McGee
It's like buying a car. You got. You got to do the get ready.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
The undercoating. But yeah.
Jess Hooker
And again, I don't want a good installer for that.
Chick McGee
I certainly don't have. If. If that's what your thing is. Ladies and gents, whatever you want to do is okay with me. I understand that plastic surgery can be very helpful.
Jess Hooker
A little lift.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Whatever it might be. Just don't go too far. Ladies. Again, as I. Yeah. I can only imagine being a plastic surgeon. You've got the. The guy in there with his girlfriend. The guy's going, go up. No, no, honey, get, get, go. You want to go a little bit bigger.
Tom Griswold
Oh, this guy's back. I love it.
Chick McGee
No, yeah, get them bigger. That's what I like. But we found out that there's a. There's a very large market for them in Russia, that you buy them used, and I guess then you go to. If you find. I help a qualified surgeon to stick them in. If that's your thing anyway.
Tom Griswold
Stick them in the place.
Chick McGee
But I'm sure it's very tricky. I'm not trying to belittle this.
Tom Griswold
This is Tom saying something about something.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Give you the big ones.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. All right.
Chick McGee
This comes to us from Charleston, South Carolina. Patrick writes, I heard you guys talking about breast implants. We happen to have an unusual breast implant in our freezer. I'm sorry. Excuse me? We happen to have an unused breast implant in our freezer.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
We use it as an ice pack when the kids need one. It's perfect because it never totally freezes.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Chick McGee
That's really interesting.
Tom Griswold
Now, why does it never.
Chick McGee
The saline doesn't freeze whatever it's made of. Yeah. I mean, think about it, chick. If you had fake boobs, if you were out skiing all day, it freeze if it was water in there.
Tom Griswold
Well, I mean, ideally, you're covered, though. You're not gonna.
Chick McGee
No, but I think, just in general, I don't know anything about the chemistry of this, but.
Tom Griswold
Well, maybe. Maybe there's silicone, and silicone doesn't freeze. Maybe that's. Maybe.
Josh Arnold
Usually, the only boobs that would freeze would be a witch's.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. That's true. And most often when they used to make bras out of tin.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Huh.
Josh Arnold
Which never really made sense because witches boobs are dangling over a bowling cauldron a lot of the time.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
You think they'd be nice and warm, right?
Chick McGee
I love it when we apply logic and scientific logic.
Greg Hahn
Oh.
Chick McGee
And on the world of physics, this witch thing is completely fraudulent.
Josh Arnold
Really? You're kidding me.
Chick McGee
So that's really kind of cool to know.
Jess Hooker
I wonder why they have an extra one. I don't. Well, I don't want to know.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, he didn't. He didn't know that Bob had one
Chick McGee
lying around here for the longest time.
Tom Griswold
Somebody. Somebody sent us a pair a long time ago.
Chick McGee
He called it his stress bag or whatever.
Jess Hooker
I guess if people work in the business, they probably.
Chick McGee
You could probably get samples. Yeah, I'm sure we could get one sent here. I mean, we have the.
Jess Hooker
No, that's okay.
Chick McGee
The erection have to be close.
Josh Arnold
I have an Elvira mouse pad, and she has two.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. Give that a Squeeze, Tom. See that?
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah, I've seen that, but I actually popped it.
Tom Griswold
You squeezed it so hard it popped like it.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it sort of came. Came off.
Chick McGee
So back to our letter from Patrick. Once again, they have the unused breast implant. They keep it in the freezer. So when the kids need an ice pack, it's because it has a certain flexibility.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Chick McGee
That it would conform to your, you know, skull or what.
Josh Arnold
Got to work. Great.
Chick McGee
He goes, there's nothing funnier than hearing your 4 year old say, hey, dad, can you get the boob? The boob. Wow. And he's P.S. we got it from a medical professional. Well, thank you. Thank you, Patrick. Thanks for. Thanks for listening. I was just in your town. Yes. No, wait a minute. What is that? I was in your town Tuesday.
Jess Hooker
I'll be there Saturday. Look for me.
Chick McGee
And I was in Charleston a few weeks ago, walking around downtown.
Tom Griswold
Really?
Chick McGee
Went to a couple of my favorite stores that are your favorites as well, Chip.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Jess Hooker
Second Sunday in Charleston. Be their Sunday.
Chick McGee
Okay, now let's see. Oh, I don't understand this. You'll have to help me here.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Chick McGee
We were talking about wedding songs.
Tom Griswold
We're here. We're here to help.
Chick McGee
What are the songs that are played at weddings these days? At the reception?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You know, the ones that get people dancing and.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that one.
Chick McGee
The Hokey Pokey.
Tom Griswold
Not the romance.
Jess Hooker
Hokey Pokey is not one.
Chick McGee
Are you kidding?
Jess Hooker
I'm. I'm. I. I bet I've been to a lot of weddings lately. I don't recall.
Josh Arnold
Probably not as popular.
Jess Hooker
No.
Josh Arnold
As it once was.
Al Jackson
No.
Tom Griswold
The Hokey Pokey.
Josh Arnold
No, I'm not saying it's never played, but it's just.
Tom Griswold
I don't want you to come in here Monday. Thought I was lying.
Jess Hooker
We have a letter.
Chick McGee
So we got into this discussion because we were talking about the song ymca, which I think is a great song.
Tom Griswold
No, it's not a great song. It's a great cheer.
Chick McGee
It's.
Jess Hooker
It's fun.
Chick McGee
It's gonna live forever.
Tom Griswold
Let's put it this way. If they have a Songwriters hall of Fame, and I think they do.
Christy Lee
They do.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
It's not gonna be in.
Chick McGee
It should be in there.
Tom Griswold
Well, it shouldn't be.
Chick McGee
There are different types of songs.
Tom Griswold
Not a song. Yeah, and this is a bad one.
Chick McGee
I mean, it's not.
Christy Lee
It's.
Greg Hahn
It's not.
Chick McGee
It's not in the sort of same sphere is Stairway to Heaven or LA Woman by the Doors or the Allman Brothers or 20 Cigarettes by Morgan Wallen. My new favorite song. Love that song. Could we get to our letter?
Tom Griswold
I would love to.
Chick McGee
Spencer is kind enough to write. Was it just a Cincinnati thing to do? The so called white line Slide to White Lines by Grandmaster White Lies.
Tom Griswold
I don't remember that.
Jess Hooker
I don't remember that either.
Tom Griswold
White Lines.
Josh Arnold
It's about cocaine.
Tom Griswold
Oh, okay.
Jess Hooker
Well that makes sense.
Josh Arnold
You guys don't remember that song. I. We never did it at a. I've never heard it at a wedding. But I know the song.
Tom Griswold
Grandmaster Flash or something.
Chick McGee
Just he says Grandmaster Mel. Mel.
Tom Griswold
Melly. Mel.
Chick McGee
Mel. This is out of my musical. I'm sure it's a fine song. Probably should be in the hall of fame.
Tom Griswold
Probably.
Josh Arnold
I wouldn't put it in there.
Chick McGee
But he goes. Also freestyle Don't Stop the Rock is a roller skating staple.
Jess Hooker
Freestyle Don't Stop the Rock.
Chick McGee
Christy was our roller.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I love roller skating.
Chick McGee
Well, I would like a comprehensive list of the go to wedding songs. So if you're a wedding dj.
Tom Griswold
Because you're gonna have. You're gonna have problems with each and every entry.
Greg Hahn
No, I'm just.
Tom Griswold
You're going. That's exactly what. Well, this is. No.
Chick McGee
As someone writers on the storm. No, I. I used to DJ weddings.
Tom Griswold
Yes, yes, you did.
Chick McGee
And I bet. And I can remember there were certain things you had to play.
Josh Arnold
Sure.
Jess Hooker
Do you remember what. What were they?
Chick McGee
Hokey Pokey number one.
Tom Griswold
Number one. The Hokey Pokemon.
Josh Arnold
I have been to a wedding where they've played the Hokey Pokey. But I was a kid.
Chick McGee
But what's the. Yeah, the conga thing. I forget what the names of that was that. That's. You got to get people out on the floor. That always did it.
Greg Hahn
You know what?
Tom Griswold
I bet you. I bet you turned that mother out, didn't you? I bet you did.
Chick McGee
You can pull fat ass from the buffet. If we get that conga thing going the last 20 years, she'll put down that cake.
Josh Arnold
You hear a lot of friends in low places. You hear a lot of Brown Eyed
Jess Hooker
girl scooting boogie song.
Josh Arnold
Besides the ones we. You know. The Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle.
Chick McGee
There you go.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Chick McGee
How about the. How about the Curly Shuffle?
Josh Arnold
I have not heard that at a wedding.
Tom Griswold
Not. Not at a wedding.
Josh Arnold
I'd love it would be played at mine. In fact I might hire Jump into Saddle to.
Chick McGee
Are they still doing gigs?
Josh Arnold
We'll find them.
Chick McGee
Well, if they're for those of you not familiar with the Curly Shuffle. Perhaps when we come back we can
Tom Griswold
play play a little bit of it for you.
Chick McGee
Such a great song. You guys don't appreciate.
Josh Arnold
I love the curly shots.
Tom Griswold
That should be in the Songwriters hall of Fame.
Chick McGee
Oh, I have it right here.
Tom Griswold
Are you kidding me?
Chick McGee
No. Here it is.
Tom Griswold
Well, if we do it now, we don't have to do it when we come back. Here we go.
Jess Hooker
Hey, Mo.
Greg Hahn
Hey, Mo. Hey.
Chick McGee
Moving.
Josh Arnold
Never miss a chance. We get up and dance, do the curly shuffles.
Chick McGee
Everybody sings.
Jess Hooker
You see the curly shuffle dance, though. Is there an actual.
Tom Griswold
Oh, you gotta go up and.
Chick McGee
Yeah, Josh is not doing it.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, that thing.
Chick McGee
Yeah, it's much sexier than moonwalking.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Really?
Chick McGee
And it's got the thing where you click your hands. And I used to love the thing where he'd get down on the ground and do that spin around thing.
Josh Arnold
Right, right.
Chick McGee
That is just great.
Tom Griswold
That's just solid comedy.
Chick McGee
It's some great art.
Tom Griswold
It's better. How are we gonna end this bit? Well, just have curly bark. Yeah. All right.
Chick McGee
Man was a comic genius. Now, we'll be getting to letters in a matter of moments, but right now, the Sports Desk, brought to you by nhtsa.
Tom Griswold
That's right. When you speed while driving, you have less time to react to whatever comes across your path. A sharp turn could take you by surprise. Let's say a truck could break, suddenly injuring you and the other driver. A cyclist might pop up out of nowhere. A pedestrian could be walking their puppy dog, and your foot on the gas might lead to a tragedy. You may not think any of these things could happen to you, but you won't see them coming until they happen. And when you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. It only takes an instant for disaster to strike. The speed limit isn't just there to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and everyone sharing the road.
Al Jackson
Slow.
Tom Griswold
Slow down. Obey the law and help keep everyone around you safe. Speeding does catch up with you. Paid for by nhtsa.
Chick McGee
I have an incredibly weird trivia fact about the Hokey Pokey.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
I mean, really odd that. I think Chick Magee will appreciate Billy
Tom Griswold
Idol played drums on it. Right. Am I close?
Chick McGee
You know, funny enough, you are.
Tom Griswold
I bet I am.
Chick McGee
We'll find out what it is when we come Back to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold

Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
She's wearing a dress today.
Jess Hooker
I am. I have a ladies lunch.
Tom Griswold
And doesn't that look like the pattern that's on plates and dinnerware?
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, that Corning wear.
Tom Griswold
Corning wear blue sprigs. Yeah. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Hey, man, I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
We were talking about great wedding songs and I brought up the Hokey Pokey, of course.
Tom Griswold
Always played at wedding.
Chick McGee
Did you know that the version that they sing in England is different?
Josh Arnold
Yes. What? I forget what it is, though.
Tom Griswold
I don't know.
Chick McGee
Yeah. It's obviously more or less the same notion of putting one's arm in and then.
Tom Griswold
So they don't use feet, they use meters.
Chick McGee
That's a fair question. It's called the Koki Cokey.
Tom Griswold
Cokey Cokey. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Or the Hokey Cokey.
Tom Griswold
What?
Chick McGee
Yeah, we call it the Hokey Pokey in the uk it's typically called the Hokey Cokey. The earliest documented versions of it called it the Cokey Cokey with written by an Irish guy. There's. The American version was copyrighted by three guys that developed it in Sun Valley, Idaho in the late 1940s. It's apparently a traditional song that's been passed along through the years. But, yeah, if you're in the uk, it's the Hokey Cokey. Oh, how about that? There you go.
Tom Griswold
So isn't they're wonderful skiing in Sun Valley? Oh, yeah, yeah. World class, right?
Chick McGee
Very, very nice.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And it's nice to know that skiers develop something as cool as the Hokey Pokey.
Jess Hooker
Well, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Or one could say stole it from this again.
Jess Hooker
Be hard to do on skis.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah, yeah. You put your left pole in. Yeah, that would be.
Jess Hooker
You put your left ski. Whoa.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
There you go. Well, that's certainly good to know.
Tom Griswold
Oh, we lost another one.
Chick McGee
Now, we are going through some of your letters, if you want to, Christy, tell people how they could reach us.
Jess Hooker
Bob and tomobandtom.com. it's pretty easy.
Tom Griswold
Just that simple. Okay.
Chick McGee
Now, this is a letter regarding my travel experiences. If you're just joining us. I got stuck in the Bahamas, which people go, oh, that must have been great. An extra day in the Bahamas. Well, no, it was an extra day in a trailer with no windows for seven hours, waiting to just find out if our plane was going to go, which it didn't. But the problem I had was I timed everything out so that I, I. All my clothes were dirty. I'd thrown away my razor. I'd. I'd put all my clothes in with a wet bathing suit in my suitcase.
Tom Griswold
We're getting a lot of static, a lot of pushback that you didn't know to take a plastic bag with you to put your wet swimsuit in.
Jess Hooker
That's travel 101.
Tom Griswold
What the hell are you thinking a lot of that?
Chick McGee
That's a very fair question. Yeah. Lesson learned.
Jess Hooker
Okay?
Tom Griswold
Life's lesson.
Josh Arnold
Now, I have had to. I went, oh, I forgot a Ziploc or whatever the heck, and I have used the cleaning bag, the laundry bag that hangs in the closet of a hotel. Okay, that worked. Okay.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Well, it. It wasn't soaking wet, but it was just wet. Anyways, so I had to go back to the. We had to, you know, taxi and then boat and then taxi and get back. And then I ironed the stinky shirt I was wearing, and I found out
Tom Griswold
that it bakes the smell.
Chick McGee
Yes. It just makes it stink even more. Anyway, after hearing Tom describe his recent travel experience, I'm going to pass along a tip from my, quote, travel Nazi wife. Oh, she always packs my oldest underwear and socks. Once I wear them, she has me toss them in the trash. So I don't have to bring them home with our luggage.
Jess Hooker
That's a good idea.
Chick McGee
By the way, the swimwear you purchased during the Reagan administration is a prime example. That's Keith in Hillsborough, Ohio.
Josh Arnold
What women consider old underwear and socks, though guys don't consider them nearly as old.
Greg Hahn
Really?
Tom Griswold
You think they're just about right for wearing.
Chick McGee
I mean. I mean, I think. Let's. Let's all be honest here. Ace has. Has underwear from the Carter administration, if I'm not mistaken. I've heard
Jess Hooker
you don't race. You don't replace your underwear, like, every couple years or year or so.
Josh Arnold
I mean, I don't. I wait until there's a significant hole.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. All right.
Josh Arnold
And then sometimes when I'm sitting there, I'll just Incredible Hulk them off and then throw. That's when they go in the trash. I mean, I don't. Yeah, no, I'm not. I'm not proactive about changing out my underwear until they fall apart.
Chick McGee
Now, so do you on trips just toss clothes and leave them behind?
Jess Hooker
No, not generally. I have no.
Chick McGee
Kelly wanted me to leave behind my. My beach pants and my water shoes.
Tom Griswold
Your. Your water shoes? What are those, Tom?
Jess Hooker
You wear water shoes?
Chick McGee
Well, I wore them one day. Then I realized I didn't really need them.
Tom Griswold
How about a flip flop, maybe?
Jess Hooker
Your beach. You mean the linen beach pants You.
Chick McGee
No, no, no, no.
Al Jackson
The.
Chick McGee
The striped ones. What are those called?
Jess Hooker
Oh, seersucker.
Chick McGee
Seersucker? Yeah.
Tom Griswold
They're.
Chick McGee
She doesn't approve of. There may be a photograph of me worrying. I have to be very careful getting sun on my skin.
Jess Hooker
I want to see you in seersucker pants. My husband has a seersucker suit. He looks very dashing in it.
Chick McGee
Apparently. Apparently. I don't.
Tom Griswold
I want to know who the seersucker people are that decided to name it Seersucker. That's what I.
Jess Hooker
Now, that's interesting.
Josh Arnold
Hurt sales a little bit like sheer soccer.
Tom Griswold
It has to be.
Jess Hooker
Big New Orleans deal.
Chick McGee
Now, let's see. My son was pulling my car in the garage. He couldn't find my keys. He asked me where they were. I couldn't think of the word. I said, they're on the key leash by the back door.
Tom Griswold
The key leash.
Chick McGee
Okay. Thank you, Kathy in Illinois. We appreciate your writing us. And do you have any more over there?
Tom Griswold
My dear Bob, at Top Show, I moved to Myrtle beach, and you guys were talking about Hooters and Hooters Airlines yesterday. Yeah, right. Well, Hooters is a huge presence in Myrtle Beach. I flew on the Hooters airline several times. The Hooters girls would play bingo and other crowd participatory games. Guys could win golf balls and sometimes rounds at a golf course. Oh, oh, there was a lot of drinking. Oh yeah, that's from Tracy.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Hooters Airline, South Carolina was launched in 2003 and only lasted a couple of years as far as I can as I remember. But it did did feature a traditional properly trained flight attendants as well as.
Tom Griswold
And the Hooters logo on the side
Chick McGee
of the Hooter girls as well as the so called Hooter Hooter girls.
Jess Hooker
And they advertised mainly to golfers. Right. Golf trips and men.
Chick McGee
But it is no longer. It is no longer out there.
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
And I understand the. Someone wrote us in and said the interesting thing about it was when they would do those traditional announcements at the beginning. The oxygen mass will drop, etc.
Tom Griswold
Etc.
Chick McGee
In the event of a water landing, you could use the. One of the Hooter girls as a flotation device due to her massive breastwork.
Tom Griswold
Is that right?
Chick McGee
Yes. Here your protruding. Your protruding attributes have served you well. That's a poem I once.
Tom Griswold
Do you think the guy.
Chick McGee
Hey, Bunny.
Tom Griswold
Well met the people who wrote Petticoat Junction knew. Do you think the guys who came up with Hooters. Hooterville. That's a perfect name for a restaurant. Hooterville.
Al Jackson
Oh yeah.
Chick McGee
I wonder if that was Hooter a slang term.
Tom Griswold
I think it's always been for the
Chick McGee
boobs and even back. Oh, I didn't know that. A good point. Now, while coming up with sports never made the connection.
Tom Griswold
World cup action and Wimbledon action and also we have a world record. That's. That certainly is a world record.
Josh Arnold
I never made the connection. I promise you there's zero connection between Petticoat Junction and Hooters.
Jess Hooker
No Hooterville. No Hooterville. Iuterville was the name of the city they lived in. I never made the connection.
Josh Arnold
Lots of curves, you bet.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, lots of curves, you bet. That was in the.
Chick McGee
I think you may have. You may have.
Josh Arnold
No, bad.
Chick McGee
Of course, I have no idea. Very good, Chick. Now well done, Chick.
Tom Griswold
I said it to be funny. I don't. Okay, never mind.
Chick McGee
It's an important.
Tom Griswold
I don't think it is.
Chick McGee
It's an important point in cultural history.
Tom Griswold
No, I feel I'm going to go to my car and sit and think what I'd done. No, no, it's fine. I'll think it over.
Chick McGee
I'll be back and we May have an update on pubic hair food.
Tom Griswold
Oh, Lord.
Jess Hooker
Oh, not that again.
Josh Arnold
Boy, that was really something. That was a croissant covered in what looked like pubes.
Jess Hooker
Oh.
Tom Griswold
And it, as Josh put it, it's worse than you can possibly imagine.
Chick McGee
Okay, that's all coming up from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
More of the show is on the way.
Chick McGee
You can find us on X at
Tom Griswold
Bob and Tom or you can email us at Bob and tom. Bob and tom.com Jim Rome takes on sports.
Chick McGee
I will always have a complicated relationship with this game, but people evolve. So do sports. Do not make me regret this. Do not make me devolve back to that guy that so many clones wish that I still was. And do not embarrass the entire country. Now I can go back. I can get there fast. Lose tonight, and you got a real problem. Do not blow it.
Tom Griswold
The Jim Rome show podcast.
Chick McGee
You've been warned.
Josh Arnold
Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
Tom Griswold
Welcome Back to the Bobbitt Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studio. Christy Lee at the news desk. Hi, there's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
You guys know what time the big boss man next door arrives? I got. I have boxes to throw in the dumpster.
Tom Griswold
I don't know.
Jess Hooker
Oh, you're safe for an hour at least.
Chick McGee
No, you. Is that. Is that a.
Tom Griswold
That's a. No, no further.
Chick McGee
No, no boxes. You got to put in the dumpster.
Josh Arnold
I get why you're saying that. And.
Chick McGee
And we prefer that you go to the back.
Jess Hooker
First of all, is there a big box? Is there a big boss next door? Well, she might be here early, actually.
Josh Arnold
Okay. Yeah, I gotta get on it.
Chick McGee
They got the camera going.
Tom Griswold
There was a memo and stuff. There's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick. Hello. Tom.
Josh Arnold
I broke them down. Does that help?
Chick McGee
The most attractive things in our culture.
Christy Lee
Culture.
Chick McGee
It's odd. The most attractive things in our culture are pushing babies around, having puppies on a leash, or owning a dumpster.
Al Jackson
Yes.
Chick McGee
These are things that attract people.
Jess Hooker
True.
Chick McGee
I remember the very first time I built a house. Remember, we put the first thing we did, they brought a dumpster in. And my friend Mark goes, don't worry, it'll be full in a week. With what? We haven't even started yet. And by God, we put it there that afternoon. There was a couch in it. People see a dumpster and it's, oh, this is great. Well, I don't. I think we're probably okay for a while. Welcome to the Babaton program. It's great having you here and we certainly appreciate your attendance. We do have some interesting stuff coming up today, including a story that is so disturbing.
Tom Griswold
Oh, no. Really?
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, it's. Yeah. I don't think you've seen it yet.
Greg Hahn
It's.
Chick McGee
It's very rough but disturbing images.
Jess Hooker
There are no images that I know of.
Josh Arnold
Will they be making a Netflix documentary about it? Is that disturbing?
Jess Hooker
Maybe a short one.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Boy, every day there's a new one that you can't believe.
Jess Hooker
I know, right?
Tom Griswold
Man.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Sometimes I look at Netflix. You guys are despicable.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Would you want to. You want to get it out of the way?
Tom Griswold
I'm not going to stop watching, but this is reprehensible.
Jess Hooker
Disturbing content. Notice a 36 year old Fort Wayne man facing a felony arson charge after he allegedly cut off his genitals and set them on fire.
Josh Arnold
Oh, you know, I get this surge
Chick McGee
every now and again.
Josh Arnold
That guy's never going to have. He's going to get more done this month than he ever has in his whole life.
Tom Griswold
Exactly right. Think of the free time he's going to have.
Jess Hooker
Mr. Christopher Petten is charged with one count of arson, which carries a potential prison sentence of up to 12 years. The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a garage fire in May just as the police department officers were dispatched to reports of a stabbing. According to court records obtained by 21 Investigates, Patton told police he was stabbed somewhere downtown and that someone had threatened him the day before while at the hospital. Though Peden told an officer he was dishonest about the stabbing and wanted to be truthful. He said that at about 2am he went to the garage, used a kitchen knife to cut off his genitals and set them on fire.
Chick McGee
At least he was. He was singing. What's his name again?
Jess Hooker
Christopher Petten.
Chick McGee
P E D was singing Chris Nuts
Tom Griswold
roasting on an open fire. His name, his name's Chris. See? Chris Nuts man.
Jess Hooker
Wouldn't they notice in the hospital that his peen was gone?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, but he said he got stabbed.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
And they stabbed me in the groin and what's going on down there? And then he went, you know what? I lied. I did it myself.
Tom Griswold
And you know there's gonna be a lot of blood.
Josh Arnold
So much, so much blood.
Jess Hooker
I would think.
Chick McGee
How much did he leave? Anything?
Josh Arnold
Unless he cauterized it himself too.
Tom Griswold
You think a head wound bleeds?
Chick McGee
Would that smell like barbecue?
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh, I don't know.
Tom Griswold
It would smell like a big pork barbecue.
Josh Arnold
I mean, what if it smells delicious.
Tom Griswold
That's all. Absolutely.
Josh Arnold
A weenie roast?
Chick McGee
Depends on what he cut off.
Tom Griswold
Say what you want about can.
Jess Hooker
I'd rather have a hot dog.
Tom Griswold
They had great smells at their barbec.
Josh Arnold
Oh, so you think maybe he only cut off the nuts? Or the. Or the. He may have left something. Who knows? Boy, oh boy.
Tom Griswold
You got a pee out of something at some point, right?
Josh Arnold
Hopefully.
Tom Griswold
Maybe he didn't consider that your urethra.
Josh Arnold
I don't think I'll just sit like ladies do.
Chick McGee
I don't think he was thinking Dory.
Jess Hooker
I read said he actually cut off his penis. So I don't know.
Josh Arnold
Maybe any. No. No motive. He didn't explain.
Chick McGee
Wow. Well, I'm not sure if he was.
Josh Arnold
Can we get him on the phone?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Hello? You know, I bet he's still screaming is what I would. Can't talk.
Josh Arnold
So he also got charged with arson.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Boy, I don't know.
Chick McGee
Set the garage.
Tom Griswold
What a day I'm having. Good Lord.
Chick McGee
I think the penalty.
Jess Hooker
How big was it that it caught
Josh Arnold
the garage on time served, I'm gonna say.
Tom Griswold
But don't you think. Don't. Don't you guys think.
Christy Lee
Think.
Tom Griswold
Don't you guys think that woman's at the bottom of this somewhere? Probably pissed him off. You're no good for nothing. Why don't you just go cut it off and set fire to it? Well, I could just see that happen.
Josh Arnold
I'll show you.
Tom Griswold
I'll show you.
Josh Arnold
You know what? And then he thinks maybe I shouldn't have shown her.
Al Jackson
This is.
Tom Griswold
Well, first of all, this hurt me
Josh Arnold
more than it hurt her.
Tom Griswold
Chris, let me tell you. You indeed showed her. Okay, but my goodness, that's awful.
Chick McGee
They're has to be.
Tom Griswold
There has to be.
Jess Hooker
There's more to this.
Chick McGee
Perhaps an intoxicant was involved. I won't have what he's having.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, there has to be a list
Tom Griswold
or something where cutting your genitals off is way down the list. Right. Of stuff you're going to do to get back at your.
Chick McGee
But don't forget.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
Then you got to set him on fire.
Tom Griswold
Oh yeah. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
To hide the evidence. Or was he that mad at them?
Tom Griswold
Probably hide the evidence.
Chick McGee
Severe, severe mental illness, I would guess.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Speculating.
Josh Arnold
Not in his right mind for sure.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Well, about that.
Jess Hooker
Oh, it wasn't even his garage. What?
Chick McGee
Hey. Well, see that's. Now. Now we have a problem.
Josh Arnold
Hey, John, can I borrow your garage?
Chick McGee
Hey, honey, I gotta set my nuts on fire.
Tom Griswold
Honey, did you tell Chris from next door he could borrow something in our garage.
Chick McGee
Shits.
Josh Arnold
What's that smell?
Tom Griswold
Honey, it's on fire.
Jess Hooker
Oh, I'm sorry. He was living in the home of the people that owned the garage.
Josh Arnold
I guess He's a renter.
Jess Hooker
36 years old, family member. 36 year old living.
Tom Griswold
I'll be the first to admit I was a rotten renter.
Josh Arnold
I. Oh, that's a couple with a story, isn't it? Oh, yeah, well, we rented out an Arab our house for an Airbnb and you know, they stained the carpet. You don't say. Well, let me tell you something.
Chick McGee
Chris is not roasting on my garage on fire. Okay?
Tom Griswold
We're standing where the garage used to be.
Chick McGee
There's more.
Jess Hooker
He said he told police he went to the garage, harmed himself by cutting off his penis with a kitchen knife, then poured gasoline on it and set it on fire on the floor of the garage just inside the door. He then walked away. I bet he limped.
Josh Arnold
I hope it was one of those badass walkaways too, where he slow motion,
Chick McGee
he doesn't look back. That's become such a trope.
Jess Hooker
Yikes. I hope you get whatever it is you need.
Tom Griswold
Oh, a new penis, I think is
Josh Arnold
what he changed his name to Ken because he is smooth down there.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Chick McGee
Okay, well, and so there. We got that out of the way.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So everything.
Josh Arnold
Oh, we need to revisit it once an hour.
Chick McGee
Everything goes uphill from here.
Josh Arnold
That's our new traffic and weather.
Chick McGee
So is that worse than yesterday's story about the so called pubicare croissant?
Josh Arnold
That is worse.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, yeah, but just barely. That Cuban pubic hair croissant was.
Jess Hooker
That was a bakery in Thailand going viral for its pubic hair croissant. According to the Bangkok Post, the Saiwan Bake House in Pattaya offers what is locally called the more more aoi. I don't know how you pronounce that.
Josh Arnold
Who knows?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, the more oil croissant.
Tom Griswold
Well, that's not a word.
Jess Hooker
Oh, it's slang for pubic hair. Whatever. M O R A.
Chick McGee
But to be clear, it's not actual pubes.
Jess Hooker
No, no, no, no. It's actually a hair like topping stuck to the pastry's cream. It's finely shredded dark seaweed which they call fat choy. And when dried, fat choy looks like black hair. And when soaked, it becomes soft and vermicelli like. And boy, the picture was very disturbing. It looked just like.
Chick McGee
And there's a ton of it.
Jess Hooker
A ton of it.
Chick McGee
It. It's.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they're generous with it.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
70s bush like.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So there you go there. Now we got the two disturbing stories out of the way.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Now we can move forward. And now, Christy, what's the best way for you to move forward?
Jess Hooker
The best way for me to move forward is in my Tucson Hybrid. That's right. The great folks at Hyundai are having their getaway sales event right now. You could get a deal so. Right. It almost feels wrong. Yes, great deals are on most, their most popular models. I can't talk today. Including their SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe or Santa Fe Hybrid. A bit tad burger than my Tucson, but the Tucson and the Tucson Hybrid, also on sale. Plus you could get the bold and stylish Elantra that's loaded with the latest in tech or go all electric with the Ionic 5 or Ionic 9. Get down to your local Hyundai dealer and get away with a deal right now. You're gonna love during the Hyundai getaway sales event. Or visit HyundaiUSA.com for more details.
Chick McGee
Thanks, Christy. By the way, if you go to this, this bakery in Thailand and you don't want the pubic hair all over the croissant, you order the Brazilian.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
Just something ever gets disgusted if they order this thing and they find an actual hair in it, how would you know? Good point. The taste. Okay, well, thank you. Everything from here on up is going to be nice and pleasant. Is that correct? No, no, no, don't look at me. Self mutilation. No. Cooking of the.
Tom Griswold
Not that I know of.
Chick McGee
The gym.
Jess Hooker
We have some fun video clips people are looking at. We have a new Reese's Species flavor. The first time in 10 years Reese Cup.
Chick McGee
Well, good. We'll look forward to finding out all that. We got a great world record.
Jess Hooker
Although we do have to talk about sideburns. So hair is still in the news, I guess.
Tom Griswold
And don't you dare touch yours. They are mag.
Josh Arnold
Oh, thank you.
Chick McGee
One of the finest ever coming up, also one of my favorites, comedian Greg Hahn joining us in the studios, comedian Al Jackson. We'll talk with Al via satellite. Looking forward to that. From the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom show in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Think O'Reilly Auto Parts for all your car care needs. Get the parts and service you need fast from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Christy Lee at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Howdy chick.
Tom Griswold
Howdy do. There's Josh Arnold.
Greg Hahn
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Hi. There's Ace Cosby.
Josh Arnold
Howdy.
Tom Griswold
Hello. I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
Hello, Chick McGee. I'm trying to get some. Over here. I don't know if I can get this to work. There you go, Ace. You recognize this?
Josh Arnold
Except Balls to the Wall.
Tom Griswold
Balls to the.
Josh Arnold
The wall.
Chick McGee
The band is Accept.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I don't know this.
Chick McGee
No, no, it's a good song.
Tom Griswold
Exc.
Josh Arnold
Or acc.
Chick McGee
Now I'm playing.
Jess Hooker
I'm very 80s. Why are we playing this?
Chick McGee
Because we just had that story about the guy who cut off his own balls and set him on fire.
Tom Griswold
Our balls on the floor, Balls on the ground. Ball.
Chick McGee
It's a great song.
Tom Griswold
Boy, listen.
Josh Arnold
Sounds like Lemmy gymnastics. Who's that?
Jess Hooker
I don't remember this.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah, it was cool. I know. Ace. Ace is the one that turned me on.
Josh Arnold
Not 83. 83.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
Except.
Josh Arnold
Wow, radio play and all that. Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Chick McGee
But you got to say it like. You can't say it's acceptable.
Jess Hooker
Accept. You can't say, oh, here's accept.
Chick McGee
You can, but you'll be fired.
Greg Hahn
Accept.
Josh Arnold
I think I would give it the accept. So people didn't think it was accept.
Chick McGee
Once again, we're playing Balls to the Wall in honor of the story about the guy that cut off his own nuts and then set him on fire. Well, that's. That's commitment. You know what I like about the guy? He stuck to the bit.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, he did. He did.
Chick McGee
Yeah. He committed to the thing.
Josh Arnold
Right?
Tom Griswold
You would think when he starts cutting it off, he would. He would have stopped at some point. Wow, this really hurts.
Josh Arnold
Paulie, what kitchen knife do you think he went with?
Jess Hooker
I don't know, but I hope serrated.
Josh Arnold
Hopefully not a butter knife.
Chick McGee
I'm dull. You don't have to hammer it.
Josh Arnold
A paring knife will do it, but.
Tom Griswold
Ooh, I guess one. One whack with one of those cleavers.
Jess Hooker
I guess he held it like a candle. Did he? When he was done.
Chick McGee
So you're suggesting he cut off his
Jess Hooker
penis and set it on fire? Do you think he held it up like a candle?
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Did he try to light it like that?
Chick McGee
I just hope he. When he took the knife.
Jess Hooker
Knife?
Chick McGee
For my boy Scout training.
Al Jackson
You.
Chick McGee
You have it go out. You. You don't. You don't want to cut towards yourself because you might cut your stomach.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, you don't want to get terrible.
Chick McGee
You don't want to get a paper cut in your belly button while you're slicing off your schlong. Yeah, this is a.
Josh Arnold
Did he set it on a workbench
Jess Hooker
and then sat on the floor, he said. No, I mean cutting it off while he was cutting. Yeah, I guess he would have to, right?
Chick McGee
Oh, wow.
Josh Arnold
That mean. That is willpower, man. Yeah, talk yourself into it.
Tom Griswold
And then keep going.
Chick McGee
And then again. And then he threw it in the floor, put. And then set it on fire.
Jess Hooker
The kitchen knife.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, like you said, Chick. The first hint of pain to not, not stop. Yes, he really.
Jess Hooker
And not just like an axe blow, I think.
Chick McGee
I imagine though, you'd be in shock.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, he had to have been high or something.
Chick McGee
Well, it actually reminds me of a true story. Oh, another true story.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Okay, that's it. Well, you'll hear Yours truly, Arty Whiskey, frontier golfer with another true tale from the old West.
Tom Griswold
Really? As you know, I'm quite the avid golfer.
Chick McGee
I go out just about every day and play 18. One afternoon I decided to head on home after nine holes.
Tom Griswold
Well, much to my surprise, I mosey
Chick McGee
up to my house and I see
Tom Griswold
another buggy in the driveway.
Christy Lee
Mm.
Tom Griswold
Well, I gotta sneak in the house and I find my wife in bed with another fella. I was rather upset.
Chick McGee
I can see that.
Tom Griswold
I grabbed the guy, got him in a headlock, dragged him down to the garage, grabbed him by the manhood, stuck it in a vise and squeezed it real tight.
Christy Lee
Uh huh.
Chick McGee
He started screaming.
Greg Hahn
Oh, Artie, you're not gonna cut it off, are ya?
Tom Griswold
I said, no, you are. I'm gonna set the garage on fire.
Chick McGee
Johnny Whiskey. Similar.
Jess Hooker
Maybe our guy in Fort Wayne liked the joke.
Josh Arnold
That joke is so good.
Chick McGee
Thank you, Bob. We miss you. Oh, well, in any event, this. This poor guy's got some pretty serious issues. Not to mention the fact that he's been charged with arson.
Jess Hooker
Sure.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Al Jackson
So.
Josh Arnold
Boy, talk about kicking a man when he's down.
Chick McGee
Yeah, and what was your phrase if you were the judge? Time served. Yeah, okay. All right, all right.
Josh Arnold
Well, I have a manly question. Well, it's for anybody really, but I think women would do the right thing here. I don't know about we guys. Okay, I had to assemble three office chairs yesterday.
Tom Griswold
Three?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I got three new desk chairs because I have three places that I want them and.
Chick McGee
Wait a minute, wait a minute. Your office here?
Josh Arnold
No, no, no, home.
Chick McGee
You have an office at your house?
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
What do you do there?
Tom Griswold
You know, chicken, we're just talking about you and, and how you. You are. Are mystified that we have anything going other than the four hours that we're in here. What does he do?
Josh Arnold
Right? We were literally just saying that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, we were just saying when we leave the building. No, no, no, you're right.
Josh Arnold
We just sort of.
Tom Griswold
Don't say you're sorry.
Josh Arnold
We're like androids in your mind, aren't we? When you're done with us, we go home and just shut off. We just sit in chairs.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
And wait till I talk to us
Josh Arnold
until the next morning.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Chick McGee
I'd be curious to see what you have in your office.
Josh Arnold
Oh, okay. Well, you're welcome to come by and.
Tom Griswold
It's all right. What do you have in your office, Mr. Big Time?
Chick McGee
A couple computers.
Tom Griswold
Do you have your office? You have an office?
Chick McGee
I've got a nice two sliding glass doors.
Josh Arnold
I love that. That's. That's great.
Tom Griswold
So you can slip outside.
Josh Arnold
That's the kind of office I would like.
Chick McGee
And what do you call. They're like those barn doors. What do you call those, Chris?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Barn doors.
Chick McGee
No, they're. They're on wheels and they go.
Josh Arnold
Right. They do actually call them barn doors, but they're glass.
Chick McGee
And then the dogs come in with me and we. We work.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. I love that.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
Then if I go take a break or get a nice tea, they follow me because I don't know what that. I don't know what they think they're gonna miss.
Josh Arnold
Right, right.
Chick McGee
You know, fellas, I'm gonna go get a nice tea. I'll be right back. Oh, no, we're gonna follow you.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Josh Arnold
That is sweet, though.
Jess Hooker
Do you have any memorabilia on your walls? Do you have. You have ask people this all the time.
Chick McGee
What's, like, the most famous, very fair? No, no. I might have. I may have. There's no Bob and Tom stuff.
Jess Hooker
There's no signed baseball or Zappa poster. Yeah, I don't have.
Chick McGee
I'm gonna know. That would be in my office here. No.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Chick McGee
I mean. I mean, I might have a couple, like, things. Oh, yeah.
Tom Griswold
I will never forget the look on his face and the pure joy when you told him that you put these office chairs in your office. You have an office? What do you do there?
Jess Hooker
Not only that, he has three different places. He needs an office chair.
Chick McGee
It's room for the seat three. So I assume there's a dining room table and a conference chair and a refrigerator in there.
Josh Arnold
The dining room table is a separate entity.
Tom Griswold
That's exactly right.
Josh Arnold
And, of course, I couldn't just buy a dining room table. I bought. It's round. It seats four. That's what. And you can flip the top over, and it's a poker table.
Jess Hooker
Nice.
Josh Arnold
So. Yeah. Because why? I'll use that more than I will just a dining room.
Chick McGee
Because I have a rule that I like to live by. A dinner party should never be more than eight, preferably six. And it should be a round table.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
And I get that. I hate it. When we were having dinner the other night and there was whatever, a table for 16 next to us, and so everyone's screaming and shouting the whole time.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that can be tough.
Chick McGee
A nice round table. That's exactly what I wanted at my house.
Jess Hooker
Did you get one?
Chick McGee
Shut up, Christian.
Josh Arnold
So I have. I put together three new office chairs.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Chick McGee
How long did it take?
Josh Arnold
Oh, maybe an hour, hour 10, something like that.
Chick McGee
Allen wrench.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Yeah. But I ended up using. For. For a lot of the Allen wrenching, I used a smaller drill with the bed.
Tom Griswold
And.
Chick McGee
Are these chairs identical?
Josh Arnold
They are, yeah. Yeah. And they're nice. Oh, no, no.
Chick McGee
I have questions.
Tom Griswold
He is absolutely.
Josh Arnold
It's kind of important to know that they are identical because. So the first one I put together using the directions.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Josh Arnold
Went fine. The direct. I was. This was one of the rare cases where I was smarter than the directions.
Tom Griswold
Oh, okay.
Josh Arnold
The directions wanted you to assemble a few things on the wheels, and that made. That ended up being completely problematic because everything. It kept moving around when I was trying to. And so I went, no, no, I can just assemble this top part first and then put it on the wheels. That worked perfectly. Anyway, the first one. Follow the directions to a T. Or, you know, it went great. So the second one. I don't need the directions. I just did it.
Jess Hooker
Right, right.
Josh Arnold
Well, there was a step where four of the screws required washers. I put the four screws in. No washers. I totally forgot about the washers. I realized this after the chair is assembled. Would you guys go back, take those four screws off, put the washers on, or would you just say I. Forget it?
Jess Hooker
I'd say, forget it.
Chick McGee
Do the washers prevent the screws from coming out?
Josh Arnold
No idea.
Jess Hooker
Do they prevent the screws from going all the way into the wood or.
Josh Arnold
There was nothing like that.
Tom Griswold
I've always been. I think washers are the single greatest hoax ever pulled on. What is the American pump? Yeah, I mean, they can say it's. Oh, yeah, it helps keep the screw. No, it just.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tom Griswold
I. I'd leave it if I did
Josh Arnold
not go back and put the washers on. No, I went. It's done. I'm not gonna.
Chick McGee
Like. I can see the. I can see the video now. It shows this scene Then. And then. Then the. The chiron says a few weeks later. That shows Josh in a hospital bed.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
The chair collapsed and I broke my clavicle.
Josh Arnold
Your insurance won't cover it because you didn't assemble it correctly.
Chick McGee
You didn't put the washers on. We've got it on video.
Josh Arnold
You don't even get the money back because you clearly.
Chick McGee
But don't you hate it when you do put something together and then there's what is obviously a critical part and it's lying on the floor and you go, oh, wait a minute. Where's that supposed to go?
Jess Hooker
Just put that chair in your least used room.
Josh Arnold
That is exactly what I. The one. The chair that I'm gonna use the least. That's. That's exactly what's going on. So that's a great idea.
Chick McGee
And the room you use the least, of course, is your office.
Josh Arnold
And so the third one, everything. You know that I remember the washers and everything. And then it did. They did send extra parts.
Tom Griswold
Oh, that would drive me a little crazy if two of the chairs had washers in the one.
Josh Arnold
That's the thing.
Chick McGee
Did you consider hiring out?
Tom Griswold
It would not.
Josh Arnold
Oh, gosh, no. That. Not for this.
Tom Griswold
No.
Jess Hooker
You can always go. You can always, on a rainy Sunday, go back and do it.
Chick McGee
If it's screws, as they went in, maybe will they come out and go back without stripping?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they will. There was no Allen wrench.
Chick McGee
Screws or Phillips or.
Josh Arnold
Those were also. Allen wrench. Yeah.
Chick McGee
You ever noticed there's a law that if you're. Especially if you're doing work up high, if you climb up a ladder and you need a screwdriver, if you get up there, if it's a Phillips, you've got a flathead.
Tom Griswold
Ah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
It's just the law of the.
Josh Arnold
Solved that issue.
Chick McGee
And if. Or if you get up there and you're plugging something in, it's going to be a three prong and you've only got.
Josh Arnold
It's always prong out. Yeah, right.
Chick McGee
Yeah, exactly.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. The screwdriver dilemma I've solved by getting is. I have those screwdrivers with the reversible hand. That's great. Yeah.
Chick McGee
That man should be Nobel Prize.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
I bought one of those too. Those are fantastic.
Josh Arnold
I shouldn't feel too bad for not adding those. And then I took the extra parts. They're in a tiny little Ziploc and with. With the Allen. The original Allen wrench. And those go near office desk and
Jess Hooker
you label them and say office chair parts.
Chick McGee
That building In New York. That's collapsing.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Seen that.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
You know why that? It's because they didn't use the washers. Ouch.
Tom Griswold
That's what I heard.
Josh Arnold
That's what I was worried about. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Who.
Chick McGee
Who, by the way, who issued that permit? We're going to take this giant building and put another building on top of it. Everything will be just fine. Really?
Josh Arnold
I saw like the ultrasound or whatever it was.
Chick McGee
We've just seen the collapsed posts. Yeah, I. Yeah, I don't think I'll be moving.
Jess Hooker
How are they going to sell those now? Oh, luxury apartments. Wouldn't you want to live here? No.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Even when they redo them, do you
Chick McGee
want to live the one floor below where the posts were collapsing?
Jess Hooker
Wait a minute.
Tom Griswold
So they.
Chick McGee
They put a heavy building on top of this building? Yeah. If you haven't seen some of that video, do yourself a favor.
Jess Hooker
The old Pfizer building in midtown Manhattan, and they're turning it into luxury apartments.
Chick McGee
But, yeah, apparently that's really difficult. By the way, these. I was talking to a friend of mine that does this sort of thing.
Josh Arnold
Like, the conversions are different.
Chick McGee
Convert. Converting an office to individual units because,
Josh Arnold
well, the piping has to be.
Chick McGee
Yeah, Think about it. An office, usually there's. You're not gonna have individual air conditioning units. You're not gonna have toilets.
Jess Hooker
Right.
Chick McGee
So it's not as easy as it sounds, but that may be the future. But very expensive. And again, in this case, when I heard. First heard about it, I wonder. I wonder why it's collapsing. And then I saw the video. Oh, they put a new building on top of the old building. That's smart. Okay.
Josh Arnold
And those places can be cool, though. Like the old ballparks. They convert into apartments.
Jess Hooker
They did that here.
Josh Arnold
Isn't that sweet?
Chick McGee
Yeah. Oh, it could be fine.
Josh Arnold
But. Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
No, I wouldn't.
Josh Arnold
Don't you like putting things together?
Chick McGee
Oh, sure.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I put together a warbler yesterday.
Josh Arnold
What?
Jess Hooker
A warbler. You can ask me what a warbler is.
Josh Arnold
I know the warbler is the bird. I know the bird. Was it a giant wooden bird?
Jess Hooker
No, a warbler is your clothes.
Chick McGee
Please tell me it's a sexual device. No, please tell me that the. The Warbler 3000 oscillates. Oscillates. Oscillates so fast that hummingbirds can't hear.
Jess Hooker
Does.
Chick McGee
It's guaranteed to deliver an orgasm within 30 seconds or your money back. The Warbler 3.
Josh Arnold
Oh, that's not oscillos.
Jess Hooker
It does oscillate, though. It's A dome shaped object that has three feet on it, kind of looks like a little spacecraft. And in the center of it, it has this oscillating thing and you stick it in your bird bath and it keeps the. So that mosquitoes don't lay eggs. And the birds, when you told your
Chick McGee
husband about this, did he take a shotgun to his head or a revolver?
Jess Hooker
No, he didn't have anything to do with it. But I had to use D batteries. Nobody has those lying around. Yeah, I had to go to the
Chick McGee
store because all these new dildos are what? They're all plugging rechargeable.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Small enough to keep purse, I think.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I mean, I had birds on the bird bath within probably a half hour. And a chipmunk, he liked it too.
Tom Griswold
Well, I got a menagerie over there.
Chick McGee
Animals are taking over the world. I got a memo yesterday from or a copy of something from the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
And in a place not too far from where I grew up, which is suburb, suburb, suburb. It's not like any even remotely rural. There was a black bear behind the Trader Joe's.
Jess Hooker
Well, he knows what he likes. Yeah, they have good stuff.
Chick McGee
And we've been getting all these stories out of Japan with bears everywhere, you
Josh Arnold
know, that is some of the finest customers.
Chick McGee
And then bears, bears in Nashville, they're. They're really everywhere.
Tom Griswold
I will visit again.
Jess Hooker
We have a great bear story in the news today. If you have not seen this video, dog is man's best friend for sure.
Tom Griswold
Ah.
Chick McGee
And then so I was, I sent the article to my sister and she goes, they had to get someone over to her house to get the owl out of their house.
Tom Griswold
House in the house.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Did she at least get her invite to Hogwarts?
Chick McGee
Yeah, I hope so.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, she lives there.
Tom Griswold
She might be a wizard.
Jess Hooker
And then I told you about the time the owl came and swept the dove right off my bird feeder last week, didn't I?
Chick McGee
What?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Did he eat it?
Jess Hooker
Yes. I had no idea owls ate doves, but apparently I served.
Chick McGee
Our show today is just terrible. Yeah, we've got doves being eaten. We got a guy cutting his nuts off and roasting them.
Tom Griswold
And now, aren't doves a universal sign of peace?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Greg Hahn
Not today.
Josh Arnold
Peace, boys.
Chick McGee
Hey, Peace Queer. It's time for you to leave. By the way, Peace Queer is the title of a Todd Snyder album. Another. Another guy that I miss so much. Well, now.
Tom Griswold
And that's sports.
Chick McGee
Oh, that's my favorite sports cast of all time.
Josh Arnold
I don't think we did the world record.
Chick McGee
We got into the world record.
Josh Arnold
Teacher. You didn't give us homework.
Tom Griswold
Teacher. What about you?
Chick McGee
I think this why I saw this world record and I specifically grabbed it knowing you'd like it and you don't.
Tom Griswold
Oh, it's fine comedically.
Josh Arnold
He can't. He's not allowed.
Tom Griswold
No, I'm not.
Josh Arnold
If you got it because you knew he'd like. It's a deal.
Al Jackson
He just can't.
Tom Griswold
But you act like that's all I do is. But that's how we started talking about. You don't really think we're people. We don't exist.
Josh Arnold
Other than we disappear into the back room.
Chick McGee
You have a handful of interests.
Jess Hooker
I really, really, really believe we would get so many viral hits if we did a home tour of all of our homes one day. We all went to each other's houses. I think it would be interesting.
Josh Arnold
Here's the thing I already wrestle with. How public do I want to be?
Jess Hooker
No, there's that.
Tom Griswold
That's not ever going to happen. Okay? That's the only problem.
Chick McGee
I mean, the only thing unusual about my house, I guess, is the urinal and the. The in the master. Or what are you calling in the primary. The primary bathroom.
Tom Griswold
No, I believe it's the owners.
Chick McGee
I think we've posted a picture of my urinal, didn't we?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, we did.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
With a picture of Mark over it.
Al Jackson
Yes.
Tom Griswold
We've all seen your urine.
Josh Arnold
Now, we would have preferred a picture of you not using it at the time.
Jess Hooker
So when you get up and pee and you're quiet, you pee in the urinal and don't flush it.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Jess Hooker
You have a urinal cake?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
What do you have in there? Do you have the mat or do you have a cake or do you pour ice in?
Chick McGee
Ace was kind enough to get me some urinal cakes. Very thoughtful gift.
Tom Griswold
I bet you spray everywhere.
Josh Arnold
Do they have your face on?
Chick McGee
You gotta. You gotta lean in.
Tom Griswold
You and that massive hog with the urinal.
Chick McGee
You've really got to lean in and hug the thing. Because of the blowback.
Tom Griswold
There's a lot of blowback.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yes, There it is.
Chick McGee
Well, we've had an exciting morning. We got a guy roasting his own nuts.
Josh Arnold
Boy, that is.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Isn't that rough?
Tom Griswold
And doves being killed.
Josh Arnold
And I think that will be a Netflix documentary at some point. I think so, yeah.
Tom Griswold
Have you seen the one? The high school one with the. The lovers and the crash.
Jess Hooker
Crash. It's terrible.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. No, those aren't for me.
Chick McGee
Coming up. Happy news we have a sideburns in the news. We have a bizarre story about.
Tom Griswold
And this swell world record post.
Chick McGee
One of the oddities of the post, Taylor Swift New York marriage experience. We got a happy elephant story, a happy dog story, and a cool T. Rex story. Oh, and a bizarre story about sheep.
Josh Arnold
Who needs TV when you've got T. Rex?
Chick McGee
Oh, one of my favorite lines ever in a song.
Tom Griswold
Who did that? Bowie did. Bowie.
Chick McGee
Right there. Bowie wrote it, but it was not the Hoople.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Chick McGee
Great song. Great song. Now, that's all on the way. And I'm very excited about that and excited for you for being kind enough to listen to us.
Tom Griswold
Here we go.
Chick McGee
I'm excited to find out that we're
Tom Griswold
out in the field.
Chick McGee
Josh has an office
Tom Griswold
and we have homes.
Chick McGee
Josh's. Josh is composing his.
Tom Griswold
And we have epic. We have electricity and running water and all sorts of things.
Chick McGee
Read the article I sent you yesterday.
Josh Arnold
I did, yeah.
Tom Griswold
It's.
Josh Arnold
It's. It wasn't surprising, but still very sad.
Chick McGee
Yeah, we might. We might want to discuss that on the radio. Yeah, no, it's a shame we don't have a radio show. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studio, and we love O'Reilly Auto Parts. Thank you so much. And this is the Bob and Tom Show. Got a comment to share?
Tom Griswold
Text us at 888-262-8661. This is the Bob and Tom Show. Oh, hey. Welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Jess Hooker's here.
Jess Hooker
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh Arnold.
Greg Hahn
Yes.
Al Jackson
Yes.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Hello. I'm Chick and hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
Coming up, more rules about what you have to do if you want to travel with me.
Greg Hahn
Okay.
Chick McGee
But first, I thought all you did
Tom Griswold
was obey the rules.
Chick McGee
Yeah, that's what. That's the essence of this. It's my understanding that we with Godwin is suffering with some issues involving his surgery, but he'll be back tomorrow. And I understand we have a special guest coming in to.
Josh Arnold
Oh, well, look at this guy.
Chick McGee
There we go.
Josh Arnold
It's not Jeff. He looks like him. Oh, it said septic.
Tom Griswold
Right here in the studio.
Josh Arnold
I'm in the big studio with all you radio legends.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Stuff between Jess and Christy, you kind of smell it.
Greg Hahn
Yeah, I know.
Josh Arnold
I'm in between two pieces of sexy bread. Sexy bread.
Tom Griswold
Sexy brand.
Josh Arnold
I. I listen to you guys a lot. I know Pat's been out a lot, and I don't mean to kick a Man.
Greg Hahn
When he's down.
Josh Arnold
But I would like to audition for Pat's role on the show.
Chick McGee
Can you sing?
Josh Arnold
Well, we're about to find out. I know you guys like. I know you guys like parodies.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
So how about a little Ed Zeppelin
Tom Griswold
to kick it off?
Josh Arnold
There's a lady who's froze. Cause she's clogged the commode. Just reach for the phone, call it Sept.
Chick McGee
That's very nice.
Josh Arnold
When it gets there, she knows there's more. Her drains will soon flow. For all that was needed was a snake. I'm getting the head out.
Tom Griswold
Oh, my God. Beautiful.
Greg Hahn
Get the.
Chick McGee
Get the head out.
Josh Arnold
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. That clog has got to go. Go, go, go, go. Just don't use Drano. Don't you use Drano?
Chick McGee
Ed Zeppelin.
Josh Arnold
Got a cloth like.
Greg Hahn
Got a cloth like.
Josh Arnold
Better call Ed this time.
Chick McGee
And Septic. Ladies and gentlemen, as Ed Zeppelin.
Josh Arnold
Tom, I know you're more of a traditional standards kind of guy.
Chick McGee
I am indeed.
Josh Arnold
So I got something for you. Regrets. I've had a few. A poo or two. The Large Dimension.
Greg Hahn
Get it?
Josh Arnold
I'm old Brown eye. Snakes and plungers. Snakes and plungers used together. And they'll work wonders.
Greg Hahn
Yay.
Josh Arnold
I know you're a Dean Martin fan, so how about a little something from the King of Scott stool? When the poo liquefies and it shoots between your thighs. Diarrhea. And the toilet won't flush and it's starting to gush. Call up Mia.
Greg Hahn
All right.
Josh Arnold
Did I pass the audition? Oh, I don't mean to take your
Tom Griswold
job, Pat, but you can stay home.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I think Godwin might. Might have. Have some competition there.
Tom Griswold
Absolutely.
Chick McGee
Get the ad out a little. A Led Zeppelin tribute.
Josh Arnold
Very nice.
Chick McGee
I'm not sure if Mr. Page and Mr. Plant would be that keen on selling it, but if he can get the rights.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Chick McGee
That is. That is very nice. Well, a couple things we need to get to here. We have been joined by our resident chef, and Jess Hooker is here with us. Good to see you again, Jess.
Jess Hooker
Hi.
Christy Lee
You too, Tom.
Chick McGee
A couple quick things you missed yesterday. We had a unusual dish emerging from. Was it Korea?
Josh Arnold
Oh, Thailand.
Tom Griswold
Thailand. All happens in Thailand.
Jess Hooker
The Pattaya Bakery's hairy croissant that looks like pubic hair.
Christy Lee
Oh, no.
Chick McGee
We have a shot of this Joy.
Tom Griswold
Oh, have you not seen it?
Christy Lee
No.
Jess Hooker
Oh, yeah, there it is. Yeah, It's a croissant with a cream inside. And then this. It's called Fat Fat Choi, which is actually a seaweed product.
Josh Arnold
Here comes Old fat choy.
Jess Hooker
It looks like pubic hair.
Tom Griswold
Slowly.
Chick McGee
It's not like a little bit. It. It's. There's as much. There's as much of the pubic hair looking vegetation as there is the quaff.
Josh Arnold
It's like they took Mr. T's mohawk and put it on the croissant.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, it looks exactly like.
Jess Hooker
I know you do a lot of great things for us, but do not make this for us.
Christy Lee
I. I'm curious if I could find the seaweed.
Jess Hooker
I don't know if you could find that finally shredded.
Chick McGee
Yeah, well, I.
Greg Hahn
Maybe.
Christy Lee
Because when you say it, I bet you eat.
Chick McGee
I'm like, okay, I bet you can find. Because you can find. There's a. Yeah. There's a place around the corner from here that has everything.
Al Jackson
I also.
Josh Arnold
I love seaweed and I love croissants. I don't want to. Seaweed croissant.
Jess Hooker
No.
Chick McGee
But it's. Again, it's one of those. It probably it.
Josh Arnold
You think it's better than we think
Chick McGee
because they soak it in some flavor of some sort. It's. It's probably the mouth feel would be weird.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
It just says when soaked, it becomes soft and vermicelli like absorbing flavors from dishes like stews and braises. That's how it's usually used.
Chick McGee
So it probably tastes amazing. It's just that. That the mouth feel would like tickling your. I'm not sure what it would be like.
Christy Lee
You guys don't like coconut, right?
Josh Arnold
I love it.
Tom Griswold
I don't like. Yeah, I like the taste of coconut, but that's.
Chick McGee
I can't stand it.
Christy Lee
Yeah, the feel.
Tom Griswold
It feels like it. The mouth feels hair in your mouth, but who knows?
Jess Hooker
I don't think you would care for that. No.
Chick McGee
But it is very 70s bush.
Tom Griswold
Like.
Christy Lee
Wow.
Chick McGee
Looks like Penthouse magazine. Bob Guccione, about 78. You know, he liked it when it went all the way up to the belly button.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Yeah. He got gynecological.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
That was the old honey trail.
Chick McGee
There you go. So.
Josh Arnold
Oh, we like the bush all the way to the belly button.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Chick McGee
It'd be fun to see if you could find a way to make this.
Christy Lee
Yeah, I. Yeah. I don't know about a croissant, but what else could I put?
Greg Hahn
Making.
Josh Arnold
Making croissants have to be difficult.
Christy Lee
It is. It's very.
Josh Arnold
To really master it.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
There's a lot of flavor involved.
Christy Lee
Yeah. Lot of butter lamenting a lot of. Is that the white?
Chick McGee
And that's. That's why it's so incredibly delicious.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. I lament you add lemon to it as well.
Christy Lee
It's whatever you do where you make the layers on top of layers and it's over and over and over again
Chick McGee
and we're not paying the people who make them.
Christy Lee
Enough.
Al Jackson
Enough.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they are delicious.
Christy Lee
So good.
Tom Griswold
You like a croissant? Don't. Oh, my.
Christy Lee
The cronut. That's a thing where it's right.
Greg Hahn
I've never.
Josh Arnold
I never did try that.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I just find the word offensive, so I won't eat one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't like those. What do they call those?
Tom Griswold
Would you prefer dant or, I guess donut?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
What are those called again?
Josh Arnold
Portmanteaus.
Chick McGee
Yeah, Portman. No, no. Can't stand those words now.
Tom Griswold
And that's sports.
Chick McGee
It is.
Al Jackson
Oh, no.
Tom Griswold
We'll be back with the world right now.
Chick McGee
Coming up, we have a. And I believe we're going to be joined by comedian Greg Hahn and comedian Al Jackson. Looking forward to talking to the guys this morning. And we'll have to update Ms. Hooker on a couple of other interesting things going on. Did you hear about the guy frying up his own nuts?
Christy Lee
I did.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
We'll get. We'll get to that again.
Christy Lee
That's disturbing.
Jess Hooker
No, you said we could do it once and we'd be done.
Chick McGee
I got to explain it to our new visitor. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, and this is the Bob and Tom Show Show.
Tom Griswold
Thanks for listening to the Bob and Tom show this morning. The show is also out there for you on our YouTube channel. Watch and subscribe. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Jess Hooker
Likes any of this?
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee at the news desk.
Christy Lee
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Jess Hooker.
Christy Lee
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Ace Cosby here. I'm Chick McGee and Tom. We have a very special guest.
Chick McGee
The handsome factor is going way up in the room. It's Greg Han. Oh, wow.
Greg Hahn
Well, it's nice to be back here. Yeah, it's cool getting older, isn't it?
Al Jackson
It's cool.
Tom Griswold
Oh, great.
Al Jackson
You know what I mean?
Greg Hahn
I don't mind at all. You know, people say, let's make a day of it.
Jess Hooker
I'm out,
Tom Griswold
right?
Greg Hahn
I'm not doing that.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Greg Hahn
You know, fomo. I don't have fomo. I have faux hat. Yes. Fear of hating every second.
Tom Griswold
I know. I've got that.
Chick McGee
Greg, it's great to see you. It's great to see you. Now A couple quick things here before we get back to the action. First off, Mr. Hahn, am I correct in saying it will be the Dayton Funny Bone tomorrow evening?
Greg Hahn
Back in the wild. Funny bone going crazy. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Is that just a one night thing?
Greg Hahn
Yeah, one show, one night.
Chick McGee
Perfect. That's all I can tolerate. Oh, that's gonna bring so much joy to so many. Many.
Greg Hahn
Well, thanks.
Chick McGee
Now, many other gigs coming up, including Erie, Pennsylvania, Royal Oak, Michigan, Toledo, Ohio, Lowell, Arkansas, and then New Year's Eve in Waterford, Michigan at the famous. At the famous one night stands.
Greg Hahn
Guess what I'm opening for. Guess who? Nobody. I open for nobody. It's my show. It's in Waterford.
Josh Arnold
You're opening for 20, 27?
Greg Hahn
That's right.
Chick McGee
Well, I'll tell you what. If you've got a. If you've got a corporate party where you want the man.
Christy Lee
This.
Chick McGee
This. Because the corporate party season begins today. For Christmas, you gotta call Mr. Greg Hahn. I'll tell you how to do that in a few minutes. Speaking of cool things, we've got Bob and Tom shorts, We've got hats and a bunch of new T shirts. And look at that.
Tom Griswold
Look at that hoodie, Tom. Yeah, I love that hoodie.
Chick McGee
Yeah. And I'm not really a hoodie guy, but I did wear a hoodie when I was on my little vacation.
Tom Griswold
It's one of those cover you from the sun.
Chick McGee
It's a swimming hoodie.
Tom Griswold
Oh, so it's a shitty.
Chick McGee
I don't know that. What the.
Tom Griswold
My.
Jess Hooker
A sun shirt with a hood.
Christy Lee
There you go.
Tom Griswold
There you go. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Greg Hahn
You're on vacation.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
Did you get one of those pictures drawn of you playing tennis with a gigantic head?
Tom Griswold
A caricature? Yeah.
Chick McGee
Oh, I love those.
Tom Griswold
Those are my favorite things.
Greg Hahn
That was a joke.
Josh Arnold
How much. How much do.
Tom Griswold
Wait a minute. Are we counting that if I joke?
Josh Arnold
If I buy, can I take you to like a theme park or a fair and have you sit for a caricature? Would you even be.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Quietly?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, those are silly.
Greg Hahn
It'll be a good job. You ever been to one of those things and they've got the. The entertainers that can do things. I'd like to. Wouldn't you love to be a hold still guy? You paint yourself silver and sit there.
Josh Arnold
Oh, man.
Greg Hahn
That's the job. Did you see comedy to whole still guy?
Chick McGee
Did you see the whole steel guy at the. At the World Cup?
Greg Hahn
No.
Tom Griswold
Well, no, he had. That's a trick. That's a magician's trick. It looks like he's floating in Midair, but he's holding a camera.
Josh Arnold
The guy who was holding his.
Chick McGee
The guy who was standing, he was
Josh Arnold
doing an impression of a statue, a famous statue in, like, Bogota or something.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, the Congo.
Chick McGee
And he stands up the entire game and never moves.
Greg Hahn
Yeah, the whole game.
Chick McGee
Yeah, and never move.
Josh Arnold
His arm has to fall asleep.
Christy Lee
And he's in the crowd.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, he's in the stands. Like, the people behind him are pissed.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Hey, it's a Saluter tradition. Rodin.
Chick McGee
You want to sit down, Mr. Sculpture? That. That guy.
Josh Arnold
So, Greg, you want to be a living statue?
Greg Hahn
It'd be fun, right? What is this, a podcast? I want to start a podcast.
Chick McGee
Well, no, no. I mean, if I start a podcast
Jess Hooker
right now, you can't keep quiet that long.
Greg Hahn
I thought of this. I thought I'd like to.
Al Jackson
What?
Greg Hahn
No, I checked my phone or something.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Chick McGee
There's no way I'm going to be, like, your ex girlfriend. No movement at all.
Tom Griswold
Oh, there you go.
Greg Hahn
What are you talking about? Francine Farwell
Tom Griswold
was a lovely girl.
Chick McGee
I can see why you dumped her.
Greg Hahn
No, I like those guys, the entertainers that can't do anything. They're. They're my favorite. You know, there are guys that can dance and whatnot. I like the guy, like, with the plat. With the box.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
And he stands on a piece of cardboard and shuffles around, and you realize that, oh, this guy can't do anything. He's just shuffling.
Jess Hooker
Don't you feel kind of sorry for him?
Greg Hahn
No, I love. Well, no.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. You know, that silver paint's got to get everywhere, and it's all over sheets and everything. You know, it is.
Chick McGee
It creeps me out. Me, too, because, you know, they're not allowed to talk, and then they've got, you know, some people coming up to them and saying stupid stuff, trying to
Tom Griswold
get them to laugh.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
They are weirdos.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
What's. What's your angle?
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
What are you really doing here?
Chick McGee
You're hoping. You're hoping a pigeon comes by, you know, because they.
Jess Hooker
They know you think they're, like, wanted by the FBI or something.
Chick McGee
No.
Tom Griswold
I mean, there was a guy in Chicago that was painted gold or something, and he was really good.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, they can be amazing.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Did he move?
Tom Griswold
No.
Jess Hooker
That seems like a hard way to make a loop.
Chick McGee
So he was good at not moving.
Tom Griswold
It looked like all he had was a cane, and he would sit balanced. It didn't look like. He looked like he was floating and the cane was touching the ground, but that was it.
Josh Arnold
I was lucky. Enough to see one of those guys pack up.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Where all of a sudden he broke. Took his little case, his money, like his little cash box or whatever, and
Tom Griswold
then walked off, broke it down.
Chick McGee
It's always weird, like when you see a Santa Claus putting gas in his car. You need a roadie to do that.
Jess Hooker
They pay taxes on that money, do you think?
Josh Arnold
You know, I. I would hope not. And I would hope the IRS wouldn't chase those guys.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah, that'll solve our economy problems. Yeah, get all the mime guys, get their big money and go after them. Okay, well, let's see now. We have managed to go more than two hours without squeezing in any sports.
Al Jackson
Our.
Chick McGee
Our sportscast.
Tom Griswold
That's right. It's time for Stupid World Records.
Chick McGee
Well, we gotta. I gotta say before we get to that, that you're not just broadcasting from any desk. That's the NHTSA sports desk starring Chick McGee.
Tom Griswold
That's right, because speed will catch up to you. Don't speed. This message brought to you by Nitza.
Chick McGee
Thank you.
Tom Griswold
World cup games real quick, tonight at 1600. Oh, that's 4.
Jess Hooker
4O'.
Tom Griswold
Clock.
Chick McGee
4.
Tom Griswold
4O'. Clock, that's right, 4.
Chick McGee
What countries use the 12 hour clock from?
Jess Hooker
A lot of them.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, many, many. There are Patriots Stadium, Morocco and France. France, one of the favorites, of course. Spain and Belgium at 1500 tomorrow. That's 3. 300.
Greg Hahn
300, that's right.
Tom Griswold
And then Saturday, two games. Norway and England. Of course, I'm still cheering for England, but Norway is looking like they are
Chick McGee
Norway in a bottle, Mr. Hahn. Norway. Those are the guys. Did you see the video of the guys on the escalator rope rowing?
Greg Hahn
No, I didn't see that either.
Chick McGee
The fans, they sit 2 by 2 by 2 by 2 on an escalator and then they pretend that they're rowing a boat.
Greg Hahn
Okay.
Chick McGee
And it looks incredibly cool.
Jess Hooker
Then after they won, the whole stands was rowing. It was so cool. It was really cool.
Tom Griswold
And now I think. Swiss. No, Scandinavian Airlines has a commercial where a plane's flying through the air and it has oars out the side of it.
Chick McGee
So cool.
Tom Griswold
And it's moving the plane. Yeah, that's fun. Really. And then tomorrow afternoon at 2100.
Jess Hooker
That's tough math.
Tom Griswold
900? Yeah. Oh yeah, you're the marine. Give me hundreds, will you? Nine hundred. Okay. Argentina. Yeah, Argentina and Messi and Switzerland in Kansas City. And that brings us to our stupid world where a group of aerospace engineering students.
Josh Arnold
What do they know?
Tom Griswold
In Bologna, Italy. Is it art? Bologna has first they've claimed the Guinness world record for the largest paper aircraft.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Chick McGee
You can see why I would think Chick would like that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Because he's always making paper airplanes and heaving them at us. In this room I try to lighten
Tom Griswold
the moon some mornings you need a good paper airplaney.
Chick McGee
You don't know and you're pretty good at it. He's very, very good.
Tom Griswold
Benefits of being an only child. That's right. The aircraft dubbed Icarus. The students aircraft measured 23ft long with a wingspan of 65.75ft.
Josh Arnold
Wow.
Chick McGee
Let's see now that I took the time and trouble to do a little homework on this. The original Wright brothers Wright flyer had a wingspan of only 40ft. So this is quite the feat.
Josh Arnold
But did they get it airborne?
Tom Griswold
It was made entirely from paper and glue and successfully flew the required 49ft.
Josh Arnold
How do we feel about the glue?
Chick McGee
I see to me that takes it out of.
Josh Arnold
It's got to be all folding.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Paper and glue. Glue opens up a hole. But it's.
Chick McGee
But it is supposedly the world's largest paper airplane.
Jess Hooker
Do we have a video? Oh, there it is. Oh.
Greg Hahn
Oh.
Josh Arnold
It doesn't look like your traditional paper.
Tom Griswold
No, not at all.
Chick McGee
It looks kind of like the Wright brothers original plane.
Jess Hooker
So it's kind of just a paint. It's an airplane made out of paper. Not.
Tom Griswold
But how do they get it off the ground?
Chick McGee
And I. Are those. What are those struts? Are those poles? See that's.
Josh Arnold
Well, even if they're made they're like paper mache and I don't care for that. I think that's too strong.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Josh Arnold
This doesn't count.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Al Jackson
Sorry.
Josh Arnold
Nice try fellas.
Christy Lee
Bogus.
Tom Griswold
Just paper. Paper and folding. That's all.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Is there a classification for that? I wonder. Just a classic.
Chick McGee
I hope so. Folded paper. I mean they're engineers and it's kind of cool. But I mean if they're using glue it shouldn't count. You know where you. That when they did they did fly it.
Josh Arnold
Right?
Chick McGee
It flew.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. It did fly the required 49ft.
Chick McGee
Landed on a legal pad by the way.
Josh Arnold
Sure. Yeah.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Nice.
Chick McGee
Nice big piece.
Josh Arnold
And it had the lanes so you could. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Lines of course.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Chick McGee
So basically legal pads. Big piece of paper. Craig.
Greg Hahn
Yes.
Chick McGee
I'm sure you're familiar with the law.
Greg Hahn
Sure.
Tom Griswold
The legal landed on a legal pad.
Chick McGee
You see the whole.
Josh Arnold
Okay.
Chick McGee
I thought you'd like that one.
Tom Griswold
I do. I like it very much.
Greg Hahn
You're good at the paper.
Chick McGee
Is there make the paper.
Greg Hahn
You should make one maybe. When you get a chance. Let's fly it around a little bit.
Tom Griswold
No, actually someone came into the studio and bald my latest one and threw it in the trash.
Josh Arnold
I was gonna say JFK Junior over there. Yeah, crushed it.
Jess Hooker
Sorry.
Christy Lee
There's 10 of them laying around. We'll find another one.
Chick McGee
We need to find if there's a record for a paper. Only paper. Erro Airplane. Yeah, without the glue.
Josh Arnold
Right.
Tom Griswold
I think they do something like that at Purdue. Engineering school later they do the thing
Chick McGee
where you have to throw an egg off a building.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, they do that.
Chick McGee
That's so cool.
Jess Hooker
Did that in fifth grade.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, we had to do that too.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, we had to do that.
Chick McGee
I'll explain. The idea is to take an uncooked egg.
Greg Hahn
Yeah,
Tom Griswold
walk us through this, will you, Tom?
Chick McGee
Look what I'm dealing with. It's like talking to my dog. You have to throw it off a building, have it land without breaking the egg. So the engineers, the geniuses is. They figure out ways to do that. It's pretty cool.
Josh Arnold
Geniuses.
Jess Hooker
Like you said, like in fifth grade.
Greg Hahn
Yeah, like my balloon flinger that I fire at boats I don't like as they go by. Yes. The Greg Han straight.
Jess Hooker
Are they. Are they water balloons?
Greg Hahn
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
You got your own.
Josh Arnold
Straight ahead over there.
Greg Hahn
A lot of people call it the Intercoastal, but not me.
Chick McGee
You got gators in that thing?
Greg Hahn
Yeah, we got some gators. Sharks. We got it all over there. Yeah, we've good time. It's the condo on the Intercoastal with the hoa.
Tom Griswold
That's right.
Greg Hahn
We have the big HOA meeting, you know, we kick it off with a pledge of allegiance and at the very end, Carol does a flyby in her scooter.
Tom Griswold
Way to go, Carol.
Greg Hahn
She times it perfect. Yes.
Chick McGee
Are you. Are you in the penthouse?
Greg Hahn
Yeah, I'm in the penthouse. Yeah. It's good up there. Nice.
Chick McGee
What city are you in, technically?
Greg Hahn
North Lauderdale.
Tom Griswold
Okay, there's no need to answer any of this.
Josh Arnold
Do you have the elevator that opens right into your penthouse?
Greg Hahn
No, I don't have that yet.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that's the goal, right?
Greg Hahn
Is that it?
Josh Arnold
Okay, I'll do it.
Chick McGee
That always scares me.
Jess Hooker
Me too.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
What if.
Chick McGee
Yeah, what if someone hits the wrong button and then all of a sudden,
Tom Griswold
oh, look, you're there.
Chick McGee
Look at this loser.
Tom Griswold
Naked, brushing your teeth. You're looking for the floor below.
Chick McGee
Well. So can I come visit you in Lauderdale?
Josh Arnold
Oh, sure.
Greg Hahn
Come on down. It's great.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
Yeah, we'll walk.
Tom Griswold
You got the. You Got the drums, and I did
Greg Hahn
bring the drums up. I just bought a big electric set up there.
Christy Lee
Nice.
Greg Hahn
I spent a bunch of money on soundproofing for the wall between me and Carol.
Chick McGee
That's the HOA lady.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
You got the copter going. The mini remote control copter.
Greg Hahn
Not yet. Good idea.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, you got to do that.
Greg Hahn
I forgot about that.
Tom Griswold
Fly that around. Those big high ceilings.
Chick McGee
So does your balcony face the Intercoastal?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, no. Why not? Gorgeous view.
Greg Hahn
And the Goodyear blimp.
Chick McGee
I love the blimp, you know?
Greg Hahn
Yeah, it's nice.
Tom Griswold
I've been in it so high up. He just looks right straight at him.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Waves in the penthouse. Yeah.
Chick McGee
I had to. I had to fly into Midway a couple of weeks ago. You ever notice when you're flying into Midway, at one point you look out your window and you can see in some guy's apartment?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Wouldn't want to live there. Because I'd be thinking, one of these days somebody's going to have a little issue. What do you mean it's foggy? Well, as a wing. Wing comes through your dining room.
Greg Hahn
It is funny, though. I sit there, I am on the end of a private Runway, private airport, you know, jets taken off and planes or whatnot. And I do, many times I've been talking to somebody and I'm like, this guy needs to pull up.
Chick McGee
And I Way I've been on that plane.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Hey, isn't that a mountain in front of us? Well, right now, I want to talk to you about your money. Money, money, money, money. Right now, as you know, a lot of things are going up in price. I know. Gas just went down. 3, 2, 1. Oh, going back up again. Maybe you're having some serious credit card debt, whatever it might be. If you need to grab some cash and you own your own house, you may be able to grab some of that equity, especially if you've owned it for a while. They say the average house, if you've owned it for five years, has gone up between 30 and 50% in value. It depends on the situation. Obviously, if you've owned it for 10 years, a lot of houses have more than doubled in value. The idea here is you can refinance that place and grab some of that equity. Even with the interest rates higher than they were when you perhaps bought the house, you can still take advantage of this. Right now at American Finance, of course, they specialize in this. Their average client, 800 bucks a month in savings. So find out what I'm talking about. You can Talk to them and see if this fits your situation. In about 10 minutes they can go over some numbers and see if it might work for you. Obviously it depends on your situation and you know it better than I do. So give them a ring. By the way, no pressure, no upfront fees or anything. The idea is to refi and grab some of that equity in the form of cash. So call American Finance. You can do it today. 866-889-2611 Once again, I'll go slow here. 866-88926 11. I know it's hard to remember that if you're driving. So just remember this, American financing.net this is what they specialize in, trying to help you out and grab some of that cash. No upfront fees, no pressure. They have salary based folks that'll be happy to talk to you. And once again, in a few minutes they can probably sort you out. Once again, it's American financing.net add a slash, Bob and Tom. So know that we sent you. That'll help us and that'll help them too. Once Again, it's American financing.net nmls182334 nmlsconsumeraccess.org Average savings based on borrowers who save over $200.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. Christy Lee at the news desk. Hi, there's Jess Hooker.
Christy Lee
I have a couple question.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Christy Lee
For when you're done.
Tom Griswold
Okay. There's Josh Arnold. Hi, there's Ace Cosby. Hello, I'm Chick McGee. Also, Tom, we have a special guest
Chick McGee
in the studio that is one handsome man. It's comedian Greg Hahn.
Greg Hahn
I'm auditioning a new hair color. Rainbow trout.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
And I believe Jess had a question, Tom.
Christy Lee
I do. I need your guys help. I have, I need to know what kind of shoe I'm wearing. Okay. Because I want to look it up and I want more of these.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Christy Lee
What is this called?
Jess Hooker
It's a mule.
Christy Lee
It's a mule.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Christy Lee
It's not a slide. It's not a.
Jess Hooker
No, it's a super mule.
Chick McGee
It doesn't have a back.
Christy Lee
Right.
Chick McGee
It's like a tennis shoe that you slip on.
Josh Arnold
They're cool.
Tom Griswold
It's an Asics, I believe.
Jess Hooker
A six mule.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Okay. That's what I needed to know.
Chick McGee
Like the donkey.
Jess Hooker
Just ask your girlfriend. Girl. Come on. He's got.
Chick McGee
Does that slap your your heel as you walk?
Christy Lee
It does. And that's what I don't like. It sounds Like a flip flop when I'm walking through the hall. Yes, like that.
Josh Arnold
I might be able to fix that. Give me your shoe and I'm just gonna huff it real quick.
Jess Hooker
Or you can velcro your foot to the back. Tape it down.
Christy Lee
Some boob tape.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, there is boob tape.
Chick McGee
Really?
Tom Griswold
Yeah, they use boob tape, Tom, all the time.
Josh Arnold
How do you do it all the time? Fashion shows and.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, it's all tape.
Josh Arnold
But many regular. Regular brads use the boob tape to tape what?
Chick McGee
To tape their clothes on.
Jess Hooker
Kind of clothes on.
Chick McGee
Oh, so they don't fly off.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Is it.
Jess Hooker
I can bring you in some.
Chick McGee
I have it called boob tape. Or did they go with a more alliterative. Alliterative body adhesive.
Tom Griswold
You mean mine's actually.
Jess Hooker
Actually called boob tape?
Josh Arnold
Yeah. They recalled the Janet Jackson Brad brand faulty. A joke would have killed 20 years ago.
Chick McGee
I enjoyed it a lot.
Jess Hooker
He still hates Justin Timberlake.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. To this day.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Single handedly ruined radio for a while.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I.
Chick McGee
When. When I travel, I. I really prefer that. I would really prefer if my girls and Kelly if they wore regular shoes.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Jess Hooker
What do they wear?
Chick McGee
They wear flip flops.
Al Jackson
Flops.
Chick McGee
This little. It just. I don't know.
Jess Hooker
Those are nice. You can slide them on and off.
Chick McGee
Then you get to the airport, you got to walk 80 gates. And I like to wear real shoes.
Christy Lee
I don't like that noise either.
Jess Hooker
Is this part of your rules for traveling with Tom? No flip flops?
Chick McGee
Yeah, unfortunately they don't obey any of my rules. My key rule. Yeah, I like to get there super early.
Jess Hooker
Hate that.
Tom Griswold
I'm right there with you, Tom. Absolutely.
Christy Lee
No, I'm the last one on the plane.
Tom Griswold
Earlier the better.
Chick McGee
You know, her logic is if everything goes right, we'll make the blank.
Josh Arnold
Greg, you probably.
Greg Hahn
When I travel with a girl, I got boundaries. Yeah. I mean, never, never look me in the eye.
Josh Arnold
Always walk two steps behind me.
Tom Griswold
So now you don't like the flip flop sound. And somebody doesn't like the way you chew.
Chick McGee
You chew you guys up. So maybe you put the two together.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Somehow be like a nice rhythm bed.
Josh Arnold
Put your gum on her heel. Now you're not chewing it. Now her shoe's stuck.
Chick McGee
See, I have.
Greg Hahn
You're a good traveler, Tom. You like to do. You like to go on like the tours and whatnot? No.
Chick McGee
Hate him.
Greg Hahn
Right.
Tom Griswold
Good.
Greg Hahn
My man. I always say the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. You just took the tour. Yeah, that's it.
Chick McGee
Yes.
Greg Hahn
You know, people like we're gonna go see this. I'm like, doesn't your room have a window? But it's Frank. Whatever.
Tom Griswold
We're in India.
Greg Hahn
Oh, we're gonna stomp around in garbage. Perfect. Hey, some of these beaches might not have raw sewage.
Chick McGee
Hey, speaking of garbage, we've got garbage in the news.
Jess Hooker
Oh, we're gonna do that again.
Chick McGee
This is a weird story.
Jess Hooker
Garbage story. I thought we were talking about.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, this is.
Chick McGee
This is kind of interesting.
Jess Hooker
Proclaimed artist is selling cubes of garbage he collects from around New York City.
Christy Lee
And they're.
Josh Arnold
There's no one I love more than a self proclaimed artist.
Jess Hooker
His name is Justin Gignac. He sells what he describes as sculptures on his website called New York City Garbage.
Tom Griswold
Hey, Gignac, line two for you.
Jess Hooker
The meticulously curated cubes offer a glimpse into and around the city through its refuse, including crushed cans, balloons, candy wrappers, subway cards. Mr. Gignac has even collected trash from recent historic events like Taylor Swift's wedding and the Nathan's hot dog eating contest. Each item described online as a quote unquote sculpture is sealed inside a tiny plastic cube. I saw these on the New York Post yesterday, and they won't apparently smell or leak.
Chick McGee
So you can get a cigarette butt that was in front of Madison Square Garden in a plastic cube.
Jess Hooker
That's what he uses. I saw, like confetti and the night
Tom Griswold
the Knicks won the championship.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Prices range from $25 for pocket garbage to $125 for, like the special edition Taylor Swift wedding garbage.
Chick McGee
And it says it's embossed on it. New York City garbage.
Jess Hooker
Yep.
Josh Arnold
Does it look kind of neat or.
Chick McGee
There you go. It looks like.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, like that.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Greg Hahn
What is it? What am I looking at?
Josh Arnold
You are looking at garbage and plastic.
Jess Hooker
Plastic cubes of garbage.
Greg Hahn
Where do you put that?
Jess Hooker
On your desk right next to your.
Chick McGee
Right next to your money shredder. Garbage.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. I mean, they're big enough to where that one has a full beer can in it or something and the other one looks like it has a hockey puck.
Tom Griswold
They are a lot bigger than I thought they'd be.
Chick McGee
Yeah, I guess it's.
Tom Griswold
Is that a Frisbee in that one?
Chick McGee
Conversation starter.
Josh Arnold
A puck.
Tom Griswold
Is that a puck?
Jess Hooker
Okay, what about this one? More than 800 pounds of peanut butter have been spread across a museum floor in the Netherlands. Did you see this story?
Greg Hahn
No, but now we're talking.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
The tribute honors Dutch artist Wim T. Shippers, who died last month. He was known for his conceptual art, first created the peanut butter floor way back in 1969 as part of his floor covering series.
Chick McGee
Peanut butter floor.
Tom Griswold
Someday I'm gonna use chocolate syrup.
Jess Hooker
He's used glass shards and salt in his other coverings.
Chick McGee
The peanut butter man's an artistic genius.
Jess Hooker
Is now on display at a museum. I'm not even going to begin to pronounce Rotterdam.
Tom Griswold
This.
Chick McGee
Probably can't draw a stick figure, but he's an artist.
Jess Hooker
After two months, wouldn't the peanut butter start, I don't know, Molding after two months?
Josh Arnold
I sure hate it.
Chick McGee
Who's the curator of this?
Jess Hooker
It's a big. It's a big art museum in Rotterdam.
Tom Griswold
So all of the biggest.
Chick McGee
You know, Greg, if you and I were in Rotterdam and I said, hey, you want to go see the peanut butter floor with me this afternoon?
Jess Hooker
No.
Tom Griswold
No.
Chick McGee
They got TV here.
Greg Hahn
Yeah. Put a fireplace on it.
Josh Arnold
That cuts down on field trips, though, doesn't it?
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
You spread peanut butter on a museum floor.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Half those kids can't get near it.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, that's right. What do they do with people with peanut allergies?
Jess Hooker
Well, they must tell them at the beginning.
Chick McGee
Maybe have a big sign out for.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Speaking of that, Hershey is releasing the first new Reese's pieces flavor in 10 years.
Josh Arnold
I should get together with that artist. I've been working on my jelly ceiling.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Really? Object. Priceless.
Josh Arnold
The hardest part, getting the jelly to stay. I haven't quite figured it.
Jess Hooker
You could use pieces of bread, sort of like.
Chick McGee
Like the Cysteine Chapel by Smuckers.
Josh Arnold
Right. Right now, Christy, it's Reese's Pieces.
Jess Hooker
What? I say Reese's Pieces.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Tom Griswold
Reese's.
Josh Arnold
Like the true hill Jack.
Jess Hooker
That's exactly right.
Tom Griswold
Reese's.
Jess Hooker
Reese's Pieces releasing their first new flavor in 10 years, launching on July 17th.
Josh Arnold
You guys want to guess? Well, we would. You think we'll guess it, or is it insane?
Tom Griswold
Is it a shape or different from peanut butter?
Jess Hooker
It's just. It's. It's another flavor.
Josh Arnold
So it's not a cup. It's the.
Jess Hooker
No, it's the Reese's is pieces. So the little.
Josh Arnold
I'm gonna say they're going with turmeric.
Tom Griswold
That's an odd choice.
Jess Hooker
Turmeric cinnamon chocolate cookie. A crunchy chocolate cookie piece surrounded by peanut butter and the traditional Reese's Pieces shell.
Josh Arnold
Doesn't sound bad.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Josh Arnold
But I'd rather just have the. Right.
Jess Hooker
There you go.
Tom Griswold
I. I'm sure I'd be able to.
Chick McGee
So are they doing this because. Because their competition is changing things up Constantly.
Jess Hooker
You mean Oreo? What? Who's their competition?
Chick McGee
Oreos. They're doing new stuff all the time.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I mean, this is kind of a state fair feel to me. Let's do something different. Because they've been so consistent. I mean, M and M's, they're doing all kinds of stuff.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. M and M's has always got a new flavor out, which I don't care for.
Christy Lee
No.
Al Jackson
God.
Josh Arnold
Isn't that funny? That's like a classic taught in every marketing class now about how Eminem said no to E.T.
Tom Griswold
yeah, right. Yeah, they.
Chick McGee
Oh, the product placement.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Oops. Yeah, right, right.
Chick McGee
What that guy's doing now.
Greg Hahn
Don't you love the snacks, though, from the road, Josh? You know what I mean?
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
I've got only. I've got snacks. I'm sure you do, too. That you only eat on the road.
Greg Hahn
Well, you go into the store late, like you find one of those 1am Grocery stores.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Greg Hahn
Some of that scratch and dent food.
Al Jackson
Right.
Tom Griswold
You know what I mean?
Josh Arnold
Right.
Greg Hahn
Get some of that roast toast, whatever it is. Boston beef shoulder butt, 80% off, lightly stepped on.
Chick McGee
That's Greg Hahn.
Greg Hahn
Some expired chuck.
Tom Griswold
The girls over.
Greg Hahn
Come on over. I got some fresh expired chuck.
Chick McGee
Thank you, Greg. Greg is gonna be. Oh, you're. You're on the road here. Dayton, Ohio. The funnymount tomorrow night only. This is very exciting. One show. This is very exciting. And you can find. I'm telling you, if you've got a corporate gig, a corporate event coming up, I should say this guy is your man. He can do it nice and nice and clean and confusing all of your employees. What the hell's going on?
Greg Hahn
If they have a message that they want to convey, I'm not the guy.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. If you want a team building exercise. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
I'm intrigued by your road snacks. I have a long road trip coming up this weekend. What do you usually eat on the road?
Josh Arnold
The only time I'd ever eat a combo is on the road.
Jess Hooker
Okay.
Josh Arnold
Or a corn nut.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Even Bugles now are just road. I wouldn't go buy a bag to have in my home.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Chick McGee
Interesting.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
Bugles.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
They're still around, huh?
Josh Arnold
They are, man. They are delicious.
Christy Lee
Spray cheese in those.
Tom Griswold
When we were.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. Yes.
Josh Arnold
Hillbilly cones.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Christy Lee
They were delicious.
Greg Hahn
I'm doing all the of this today.
Tom Griswold
Okay.
Chick McGee
Thank you very much. Now, coming up, we have a little bit of history for you. We're going to talk with comedian Al Jackson. We may want to update you on the guy that cut off his genitals and set him on fire. That's a true story. What can I do? What can I tell you?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, what do you want? I'm just giving you the facts here.
Christy Lee
Was it in the States?
Chick McGee
It was in the United States of America.
Jess Hooker
A neighbor from the north.
Chick McGee
North, yeah. Right now though, we're going to check in with with Mr. McGee across the way.
Josh Arnold
And don't worry, I don't think it's going to catch on.
Jess Hooker
No, I don't think you have to worry about your neighbor setting their garage on fire with their penis.
Tom Griswold
This message from nitsa. When you speed while driving, you have less time to react to whatever comes across your path. A sharp turn could take you by surprise. You veer off the road, another car could turn out in front of you. A truck could break, suddenly injuring you and the other driver. A cyclist could enter the road ahead of pedestrian, could be walking their dog. You might not think any of these things could happen to you, but you won't see them coming until they happen. Especially if you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. And it only takes an instant for disaster to strike. The speed limit isn't there just to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and everyone sharing the road. Slow down, obey the law and help keep everyone around you safe. Speeding does catch up with you. Paid for by nhtsa.
Chick McGee
Thank you very much. Chick Magee. A little bit of balls to the wall, ladies and gentlemen. Except balls to the wall. Set him on fire, Clem. Okay, sorry. We'll come back with balls and a little bit of history for you here in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
Thanks for listening Bob and Tom show this morning. Catch any part of the show you missed later today on our YouTube channel.
Chick McGee
I cannot wait.
Tom Griswold
Hey, welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's Christy Lee at the news desk.
Jess Hooker
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Jess Hooker.
Christy Lee
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh Arnold.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Howdy, howdy do. I'm Chick. And hello, Tom. We have a special guest.
Chick McGee
He is joining. That is Mr. Greg Hahn.
Greg Hahn
Thank you, Tom. Professional standup comedian dating is a two step process. It is, yes. How am I going to meet her and then how am I going to get out of this?
Chick McGee
Mr. Hahn. A very handsome man, single man, a former member of the United States Marine Corps. What was your, what was your rank again?
Greg Hahn
I ended up being a captain?
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
Yeah. Oh yeah, great, great.
Chick McGee
I read something the other day. Oh, I don't have it in front of me. Did you that human beings apparently in, in all cultures tend to veer to the left when they walk.
Josh Arnold
No kidding. Did they explain it at all?
Tom Griswold
Wait a minute, did you say all cultures? Yeah, they all veer to the left. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Which reminded me of course, when you were in the Marine Corps.
Jess Hooker
Core.
Greg Hahn
To the swamp.
Chick McGee
Yeah. I'll find the article. I, I one of the odd things I read on the plane the other day. Right now it's time to educate everyone. A little bit of history which will require me looking it up actually.
Josh Arnold
Like history. Huh? Were you good at it in school?
Greg Hahn
No, I wasn't. But now I'm fascinated by it.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, things change.
Greg Hahn
And in school I was on, you
Tom Griswold
know, not like now, you know.
Chick McGee
No.
Greg Hahn
When I was in the Marines. Back to the Marines, honestly, they called me, we took a bunch of IQ tests and stuff and they called me down and they're like, wow, you are dumb. They gave me a big warning. You scored like a chimp. You're going to have a tough time. I did really well, you know, but that was an interesting warning.
Tom Griswold
Gonna have a tough time.
Greg Hahn
Yeah. He was taken aback, like woo.
Chick McGee
Now in history we have. Oh, this is interesting. In 1762, Catherine the Great seized control of Russia from her husband Peter iii. That had to be awkward.
Josh Arnold
Boy, he had a bad lawyer.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Wow. He's got him right by the Peter and the Horseshoe rode in on. And by the way, that Catherine the Great thing. That's not true.
Josh Arnold
Well, let's pretend it's funny.
Chick McGee
I wonder how that started.
Jess Hooker
What is it that she had that
Chick McGee
she would have them the attendants would
Josh Arnold
bring horses for her to make love to.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You never heard that?
Jess Hooker
Horses never heard that?
Christy Lee
No, never heard that.
Josh Arnold
In fact, isn't the full rumor that she died that way?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I said horse fell on her or something.
Tom Griswold
Didn't she really just take the horse semen and use it as a moisturizer?
Josh Arnold
I'm not sure what the truth.
Chick McGee
None of that is true.
Josh Arnold
I don't know.
Jess Hooker
I wonder what she did to cause that rumor.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, her and Richard Gere pissed off the wrong people.
Chick McGee
Okay, let's see what else happened. Oh, this is, this is a two parter.
Tom Griswold
Oh, good.
Chick McGee
This is very odd. In 1869 the corn cob pipe was invented. Ah, I, I just hope it wasn't invented by a guy in the outhouse.
Tom Griswold
Oh, hey, you know these corn cobs, we should Find something else to do with these.
Chick McGee
The word invented, I guess it seems a little bit. Well, maybe kind of stumbled on. Okay. No, that'll be coming back. So hang on to that thought.
Tom Griswold
Corn cobs will be coming back.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Do you think that guy was the same. Was the great, great, great grandfather of the guy who invented the apple bong?
Christy Lee
Yeah, I think so.
Chick McGee
1877, the first Wimbledon tournament begins. It's going on, of course, right now in England and it's very exciting because one of the. There's an Englishman in what, the quarterfinals.
Tom Griswold
Arthur Ferry. Very cool.
Josh Arnold
Oh, this year it's in England.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. This year they're having it in England.
Chick McGee
Now this is what's interesting. 1878, the improved corn cob pipe was actually patented.
Josh Arnold
Oh.
Chick McGee
By Mr. Henry Tibby.
Josh Arnold
Oh, is that, Is that an original Tibby? People would say, oh, what do you
Chick McGee
got there, Tibby from 1878. A Tibby be probably worth a fortune.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
His famous phrase was these early ones make us look like dumb hillbilly. These.
Josh Arnold
I don't know anyone who's actually smoked with a corn.
Tom Griswold
Come from the hills, hollow it out and then that's where your tobacco goes.
Josh Arnold
I guess. Yeah.
Tom Griswold
There's a rod that goes into the hollowed out stick. I guess.
Josh Arnold
I, I mean, but we all know that Frosty's got to be the biggest perpetrator.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Greg Hahn
When is somebody going to invent soundproof pants? Can we stop the madness?
Tom Griswold
This is not just corduroy. No.
Chick McGee
The corn cob pipe once again patented in 1878. And it wasn't until three or four years later that Frosty developed the. The nose.
Tom Griswold
Do you like the Christmas Frosty the Snowman with. What is it? Jackie Vernon?
Josh Arnold
Very much so. I am a fan. Care for it because I like the villain a lot.
Tom Griswold
Happy birthday. It's very odd for the voice. I don't know why they chose that guy.
Josh Arnold
Have you ever seen any of Jackie Vernon's old standup? There are clips out there.
Tom Griswold
No.
Josh Arnold
Hilarious.
Chick McGee
Yeah, he's very funny.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Chick McGee
Okay, let's see.
Tom Griswold
I didn't know you guys were related to him.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, so why don't you shut up about it?
Chick McGee
So speaking of inventors, we'll do some birthdays. Christy Lee, this is. This question's for you. In 1819, the wrong side of that. Elias, Elias how h o w e
Josh Arnold
was born and he invented the native American greeting.
Tom Griswold
Cotton Cotton gin. The sewing machine.
Chick McGee
Very good.
Tom Griswold
Chicken or the sewing machine.
Chick McGee
Yeah, that's exactly correct.
Josh Arnold
And a Whitney Brown invented the cotton gin.
Jess Hooker
I Thought Singer invented this.
Tom Griswold
Well, Elias, how had a. An assistant named Billy Singer
Jess Hooker
idea, huh?
Tom Griswold
The dark of night one night.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Let's see. A great actor. Sadly gone in 1938. Happy birthday. Brian Dennehy.
Josh Arnold
One of my favorites. I got to see him live twice. I saw. I loved it. And I went back to see him do Death of a Salesman.
Chick McGee
What's he most well known for? Mr. Tommy Boy or.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, he's Tommy Boy's dad.
Chick McGee
And then he's the bartender. And
Tom Griswold
just a tiny part.
Josh Arnold
He is the bartender.
Tom Griswold
He's in Rambo. Isn't he around?
Josh Arnold
Yes. Yeah. First Blood. And then he's in fx. The FX movies. Which are great.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, those are great.
Chick McGee
Brian Brown, 1946. Bon Scott.
Jess Hooker
ACDC.
Chick McGee
The most famous.
Jess Hooker
I know that one.
Chick McGee
Most famous bond. Unless you count Jovi. Jovi Diet. I don't know.
Josh Arnold
Or the famous twins who invented the ice cream treat, the Bon Bon.
Tom Griswold
They named them both Bonds, huh?
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
I see.
Josh Arnold
Or the guy who invented the highway with no Speed Limit. That's Auto Bond.
Greg Hahn
Okay.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Greg Hahn
Are you just coming up with these?
Chick McGee
Is the ice cream product. Is it.
Josh Arnold
That's magnesium.
Chick McGee
Is it Bon Bon? Or is it Bon Bomb?
Josh Arnold
Oh, like Pom Pom. Yeah, it's Bonbon.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, because. Yeah, because Pom Pom is one of them's an end. Yeah. Not sure which one.
Chick McGee
Yeah, Very confusing.
Josh Arnold
Very odd.
Christy Lee
That.
Josh Arnold
That. Yeah. Nobody.
Chick McGee
Okay. This one's for you, Ms. Hooker.
Greg Hahn
I'm.
Chick McGee
I'm counting on you to not get this.
Christy Lee
That's a mistake.
Chick McGee
Actually, I. I think Christy would get this one. Ace, be quiet. It's 1947. Happy birthday, Mitch Mitchell.
Christy Lee
Mitch Mitchell.
Chick McGee
First of all, how lazy are your parents?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, that's right.
Christy Lee
Mitch Mitchell.
Tom Griswold
I didn't think that was his first name.
Christy Lee
It must be a rock and roller nickname. Yes. 19. What did you say?
Chick McGee
47.
Jess Hooker
I have a guess deceased, by the way.
Christy Lee
Oh, he's dead.
Greg Hahn
Oh.
Chick McGee
Oh.
Josh Arnold
47. He was born.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
That wouldn't be purple.
Christy Lee
Think who?
Jess Hooker
I don't know.
Josh Arnold
Do you also think Minnesota?
Christy Lee
No. Yeah. I thought Prince.
Chick McGee
No, Mitch, he was the drummer for Jimi Hendrix. Great drummer, by the way. Yeah, but. Yeah, but they. And then their manager made them. The two white guys get big froze.
Tom Griswold
It wasn't Buddy Miles a drama there for a bit.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, Mitch Mitchell was fine with Jimi Hendrix.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And then Hendrix died, and then he went on to form the Foo Fighters and he became the front man.
Chick McGee
Very helpful. Oh, another bad one here. Sorry. O.J. simpson, 1947.
Jess Hooker
He's dead.
Christy Lee
Another big Crush. Well, I know, I know, I know.
Tom Griswold
The bad boys. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Not a bad actor.
Christy Lee
Very funny. Beautiful voice.
Josh Arnold
And a pretty good butcher.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah. When he was putting those gloves on.
Greg Hahn
Yeah,
Chick McGee
that was the most transparent. He's got his standing fingers all splayed out.
Josh Arnold
I wanted Ito to go, hey, try better.
Chick McGee
Yeah, dude, they told. They me told. Told Darden, don't tell him to put the glove right. Nice. Nice work.
Christy Lee
That's crazy.
Chick McGee
Jimmy Smits, born in 55. I don't know where he lost the H. As opposed to Smith. I'm not sure what the distinction, actually.
Tom Griswold
Here's Josh with a limerick featuring Jimmy Smith.
Josh Arnold
Are you guys fans of. Are you guys part of the fan club?
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah, the Smitheads. I'm a big Smith head.
Greg Hahn
Yeah. Is he an actor? What are we talking about?
Chick McGee
He's good.
Tom Griswold
All right.
Josh Arnold
Was he LA Law and then Miss Congeniality?
Tom Griswold
I think he's in Sons of Anarchy.
Josh Arnold
I think Dexter a little bit.
Chick McGee
Mr. Everyman in Hollywood. Tom Hanks, born in this date in 1956.
Josh Arnold
Well, he's overrated, huh?
Jess Hooker
Can't do anything, can he?
Tom Griswold
From what I understand. Unapproachable.
Josh Arnold
Just one of the notorious jerks.
Chick McGee
By all accounts, the nicest guy. He's also a collector of typewriters.
Jess Hooker
He is.
Tom Griswold
What a weirdo.
Chick McGee
He's got all kinds of typewriters. Happy birthday, Courtney Love. The.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I like her. I can't help it.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Can you. What's your favorite whole song?
Josh Arnold
Well, there's. I like. I mean, Doll Parts is the biggest hit, probably, and I like that one, but what's the one where she talks about demonology?
Chick McGee
I forget, but okay, you know. 1966, born Pamela Adlin.
Josh Arnold
Wonderful. Yeah.
Chick McGee
She's a voiceover lady. Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And she played Louis CK's wife on.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
Lucky Louie Love.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Chick McGee
The great Jack white, born in 75.
Tom Griswold
If you haven't seen Jack White's video of him naming every Beatles song you can come up with, he can name him in one second.
Chick McGee
Second.
Josh Arnold
He's kind of a savant, isn't he?
Tom Griswold
And he absolutely does it.
Josh Arnold
I. I like him a lot. He's cool.
Tom Griswold
It's amazing.
Chick McGee
And that'll pretty much do it for our little history lesson today. Coming up, we're going to get a language lesson from Al Jackson. We're hanging out with comedian Greg Hahn. Greg is doing one night only at the Funny Bone in Dayton. That'll be tomorrow evening for a great evening of entertainment. I highly recommend it. The man is full of joy and confusion. At the same time. Also coming up, we're going to learn a little bit about sideburns in history. And we have a great story about sheep coming up. We got a T. Rex up for auction. This is all so exciting. And elephants are in the news and dogs. I can't wait. These are the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios, and this is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
Add to or continue the conversation. Check out the Bob and Tom show on, on Facebook. Get the link@bobandtom.com this is the Bob and Tom Show. Welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. There's major right at the news desk. There's Jess Hooker.
Christy Lee
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
Ace Cosby's here. Hey, hey, hey. Greg Hahn is here, by gosh.
Greg Hahn
Happy to, to be here.
Tom Griswold
I'm chicken. Hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
Comedian. That's one handsome man that Greg Hahn.
Greg Hahn
Should I, should I, should I be a boat act? Should I just wind it down, maybe do the boats? Or should I go hardcore, start to get the. Really work with the Instagram, start the podcast. I like to practice right now. Chick, what brings you into town?
Tom Griswold
Well, I, My home is here. That's why I'm in town.
Greg Hahn
Josh, you used to be a comedian.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I had to get out, man. Tough racket.
Chick McGee
Well, speaking of comedians, I think we're. There we go. Oh, you talk about, you talk about the handsome factor. There's, there's Al Jackson and we got, let's see, you got your Greg Hound over here. Dayton, Ohio, tomorrow night only at the Funny Bone. That's unbelievable. Then we've got your Al Jackson. Are you in the hallway?
Christy Lee
What?
Josh Arnold
Where are you?
Chick McGee
Al?
Christy Lee
You.
Al Jackson
No, no, I'm in my living room. Do you see my friend asleep over my right shoulder?
Christy Lee
I do now.
Chick McGee
Is he naked?
Al Jackson
No, he's just sleeping in a nice. Yeah, where's. I'm still a real old school comic. Comics still crash, baby.
Chick McGee
I see.
Jess Hooker
Oh, nice.
Chick McGee
You got a little soul patch going there.
Al Jackson
I, I do sometimes, you know, I just don't shave this. And then I'll notice it in pictures. I'm like, oh, you look like a guy that hits on art students that are taking a class over the summer where I'm like, I really like your vision here. We should come to my apartment and we should talk about it. It's just a real, real creepy vibe. And let me just say this, Tom and I think I speak for everybody listening and everybody that's in that studio, I would listen to Greg Hahn and his podcast, what brings you into town? The hook of it is you get a listers, bro, but that's the only question you ask him. Sylvester Stallone, 90 second answer, end of show, no follow up, up, no nothing. And everybody's like, what is that? We're like, this is just what brought you into town. Don't ask questions. And I would be all, I'm all for it.
Josh Arnold
Perfect.
Chick McGee
Very good. Now, the way this show works, I should explain to Mr. Han, is that Mr. Jackson will provide me with a word that is a contemporary lingo, if you will. Oh, yeah, the language of the street. Because as you know, I'm trying to upgrade my hypnos factor. So, Al, what have we got for today?
Greg Hahn
I need this class too.
Al Jackson
Tom. I wanted to. To bring this up because I heard this one in irl. Tom, tell everybody what that means. What is that acronym?
Chick McGee
Irl. Give me a hint. I forgotten.
Tom Griswold
In.
Chick McGee
In real. Real life. Oh, wow. Okay, good.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
All right.
Chick McGee
I know it used to be.
Josh Arnold
Nailed it.
Chick McGee
I was thinking indie racing league. No, but that's. That's gone.
Al Jackson
Feel better. I was like, oh, that could be Indiana Racing League. And you said the same thing. I was like, okay, we're met. Of a certain age. All right, Tom, in real life, I heard this phrase, Tom, and I. I'm gonna exclude the ladies, because I bet you they've probably heard this term. Tom, what's an almond mom?
Jess Hooker
Whoa.
Chick McGee
Almond mom.
Josh Arnold
Oh, I have a guess. I.
Chick McGee
Well, I don't want to throw, and
Al Jackson
if you don't know, throw. Yeah, any.
Chick McGee
Is anything food related?
Christy Lee
Kind of, but it's a whole sphere of.
Al Jackson
Yes, it's. What is. Josh.
Chick McGee
Josh, what do you think?
Josh Arnold
My guess is it's the mom who, instead of bringing to the party or the soccer game, cupcakes for everybody or cookies, she brings almonds and apple slices.
Al Jackson
Yes. Now take that and expand that to the, like, the Marvel Universe. Think about, like, how that. Jess, what do you think?
Tom Griswold
Oh, my.
Christy Lee
Tom, I'm gonna give you one big hint. You're married to an almond mom.
Tom Griswold
Oh.
Chick McGee
Oh. Is this a health food? Organic. Yes, organic everything.
Christy Lee
Very conscious of it. Yes.
Chick McGee
Super fit.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Chick McGee
Just lattes with oat milk.
Christy Lee
You. Yes. You are married to an almond milk.
Josh Arnold
Gotcha.
Chick McGee
I have to order them. Yeah, I'll go. I'd like an a latte with oat milk, and then I'd like a real one with American dairy products. No, no, this is me talking to the barista. She doesn't. She doesn't hear me doing this. You kidding?
Josh Arnold
Al, would you say almond moms are too strict in their.
Al Jackson
Yeah, you know what?
Tom Griswold
And.
Al Jackson
And just to take it a step further, because Jess is exactly right. Yeah, Josh, it's. It's. It's like, not a great thing, because we were at a friend's house last week. She just had a baby, and we were just talking about our childhood, and she was like, I had an almond mom growing up. And she just said it. And I was like, oh, I've never heard somebody. But apparently an almond mom is like, josh, should you be like, you're having a. A cupcake. Like, you've got, you know, know to fit in your band uniform, like, three days, like, just everything you eat. Yeah, measured, bro. Measured.
Christy Lee
So the moms that we had that were almond moms were very critical of your weight. They were like slim, fast moms, like, hey, we're gonna count calories. And. Yeah, it was.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, that does. That wreaks havoc on the brain.
Christy Lee
Right?
Al Jackson
Can you imagine?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, it's. It's a real thing.
Al Jackson
She said her mom is, like, still, like. She said her mom is in her mid-70s. And weirdly, if we. You know, because I think every. I think the comics mind, we see good and bad in everything, even things that are just supposed to be looked at one way. She did say that her mom did diagnose herself with a rather severe medical condition because she is so in tune with her body weight and how to lose weight, like, on an unhealthy level, that she was like, I cannot lose this weight. And she had, you know, something that needed to be removed, and I'll leave it at that. But, yeah, like, she was able to be like, I can always lose weight because I control my body weight that much.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Al Jackson
And the doctor was like, yeah, there's something on the X ray. So, yeah, it's. It's. It's good and bad, but I just didn't know that this was, like, so many, especially. I think women are just like, oh, my mom would. She would weigh. She would count how many M M's I had in Halloween, and shame me for it. I'm like, oh, my God, mom just called me fat.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
So that's a.
Chick McGee
That's a whole different thing. That's a whole different thing. My situation.
Christy Lee
No, it is. That's what I'm saying. So our gener, like, the generation we grew up with, your almond mom is more of, like, an ingredients household. They call it that, too, where it's like, you don't have snacks, but we have lots of things where we can make food. And so it is. It's called an ingredients household.
Al Jackson
I have never heard that.
Christy Lee
Yeah, so my kids told me about it because that's. They grew up in an ingredients household where it was like, we didn't have candy, but we ate chocolate chips. Chips. When we wanted something sweet and didn't want to eat something because that's all we had was a bag of chocolate chips.
Chick McGee
What do you call when your kids get with a new babysitter and Conor into going to the fast food place you won't take her to? I love that.
Josh Arnold
I love when kids do that.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
What did they discover?
Chick McGee
McDonald's french fries.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Al Jackson
Do you guys think that that. Does that backfire, like, when, you know, you meet, you run into somebody, like, in college or, like, post high school, where you guys are all kind of on your own for whatever reason, and the kids whose parents, like, did not let them have, like, white bread ever or anything like that, they were super like, no sugar. No sugar. When those kids went to college, they were like, I am having Lucky Charms.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Al Jackson
For lunch and dinner. Like, it just goes. And I'm like, I always wonder, is it almost like the Preacher's Kid where like, when you withhold for so long, it's gonna. Like they're gonna Rebel Bell?
Christy Lee
Yeah. Yeah, probably. Until they go back home for Christmas and their parents shame them for all the weight they've gained.
Al Jackson
And. And just to your point about the chocolate chips, my mom was. My parents were obviously divorced, and only people that had divorced parents in the 80s know this isn't like a funny, joke premise I'm throwing out. My mom would keep so few sweets in the house that that's when I realized that that semi sweet chocolate is disgusting.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Al Jackson
Because you're like, guess who messed up and left chocolate chips around. And then you just are eating whatever is lining your chimney. It is so disgusting.
Chick McGee
Al, it's always a great pleasure. Now, are you on the road at all this week?
Al Jackson
Not this week. Next week I am not going to be on because I am taking my first cruise ever. Speaking of working the boats as a passenger, I would rather be a boat act.
Chick McGee
Where are you going on the boat side?
Al Jackson
I am going on my first cruise. I'm going on an Alaskan cruise.
Tom Griswold
Oh, cool.
Josh Arnold
Nice.
Al Jackson
Yes. They. They have nine black people up there that need a temp and they're like, send them the slow way. So, yeah, I'm headed up that way. So it's my first cruise. I heard it's cold, but I'M excited. I'm excited, man.
Chick McGee
Well, Pat Godwin, who's cruised on. Who's worked on every one of the ships, and he's been everywhere. I mean, Hawaii, Europe, you name it. He says the Alaska cruise is the best. Best one.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Al Jackson
Really?
Chick McGee
Yeah. He's been on all of them.
Jess Hooker
Kostaki was on one last week. Yeah.
Al Jackson
Okay. I'm gonna give it a chance. I've heard good things, and, you know, I'm gonna be like. You know, I've never. I. I'm a lot like you, Tom. We're broken men. I don't know how to relax. I don't know what to do. I feel guilt and shame by, like, sitting. Like, when I see somebody reading at the beach, I'm like, you don't have anything to do. I don't know how to relax. So I'm going to really. I have people on my podcast, like, writing suggestions on how to. Because, I don't know, I'm. My dad, he worked till he died, and so I got to learn how to just, like, sit. Sit and be like. That is a nice piece of ice.
Chick McGee
Maybe. Do they have a comedy club on the ship? Maybe you can do a guest set. Nobody.
Tom Griswold
I don't think they would.
Al Jackson
They wouldn't let you just. I would think for legal reasons, because if I got up there and I'd be like, let's talk about the Titanic. Anything. Like, yeah, we're not even paying this guy who offended our customers.
Greg Hahn
Don't you drink coffee, Al? You drink coffee? Yeah.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
There you go.
Greg Hahn
There's your time where you sit there with your big cup of coffee and look straight ahead. That's it. Then you get another cup of coffee.
Al Jackson
But then I'm my dad again. That's my dad up at. At 5, 10 in the morning, drinking a black coffee, reading the. The Cleveland Plane dealer. So, yeah, I mean, that. I could. I could do that. But, I mean, I'll figure. I just don't know how to relax. It's just very weird to me. You're just not doing anything that's relaxing to you.
Chick McGee
I don't get it, Al. A quick inside joke. Not joke, inside story, just for you. You mentioned the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the newspaper for Cleveland, Ohio.
Al Jackson
Shout Out.
Chick McGee
Someone sent me an article. You remember you grew up about 10 miles from a place called Pepper Pot?
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Al Jackson
They did a girl from there for years.
Chick McGee
The Trader Joe's there. There was a bear. A bear. A real live bear in back of Trader Joe's the other day. And that's and that's in the suburbs, ladies and gentlemen.
Al Jackson
So that's fancy pants area.
Chick McGee
Yeah, yeah. But so just watch out for bears. And you're in Colorado, so, I mean, you got the real ones there. The scary one. Yeah, it was real. Yeah. So just watch out for bears, theirs. I'm not sure if this applies to all Trader Joe's or just that one. We'll see you later on that kind of cruise, Tom.
Josh Arnold
Thank you. Good luck.
Greg Hahn
Yes.
Al Jackson
All right, love y'. All.
Chick McGee
Give us a photo. Sounds good. Yeah. That's the cruise that Godwin says is the very best.
Christy Lee
That would be fun.
Chick McGee
And he's been on every one of them.
Greg Hahn
He's doing boats.
Chick McGee
He did them for years. He's done the boats.
Tom Griswold
Did you notice it bothered you so much that Al wasn't going to do anything? You tried to get him hired on the cruise to do stand up. It was just. You were like, no, no, you need to go do stand up.
Chick McGee
He'll be bored.
Christy Lee
Have you been on a cruise?
Tom Griswold
He wants to learn to relax. He already said that.
Jess Hooker
He's been on, like a three day one.
Chick McGee
Oh, no, no. I've been on a bunch of them. I took the Disney cruise with my kids. That was great.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Chick McGee
There's a lot to do on that one.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Chick McGee
But I've gone. I've gone to Bermuda on a ship twice.
Christy Lee
Okay.
Chick McGee
That's a long haul.
Christy Lee
I'm nervous.
Chick McGee
I was on the QE2. I crossed the ocean.
Christy Lee
Really?
Chick McGee
It was a long haul. After a while, you look at, you go, I wonder how cold that
Jess Hooker
they're not for Tom. Because it is all about relaxing.
Chick McGee
I'd rather be working on the boat.
Greg Hahn
I was on a cruise once in Bermuda, and our stabilizer was broken and a hurricane was heading our way, so we're bouncing all around. We were the only boat in the port because they're trying to fix the stabilizer. Then we finally headed out. Hurricane's getting closer. We're bouncing all around. Then we headed back in because the guy had a heart attack.
Jess Hooker
Oh, my gosh.
Greg Hahn
Oh, it was very exciting. It was the best cruise ever.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Greg Hahn
Yeah. People were flipping over the stairwells. I had to lock myself in. The room was thrown up everywhere.
Chick McGee
Oh, nice.
Jess Hooker
Sounds wonderful.
Chick McGee

Josh Arnold
Hello there.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby. Hey, Greg Han is here.
Greg Hahn
Thank you.
Tom Griswold
One of our favorite comedians, I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
Greg Han, the man.
Tom Griswold
He's on the road.
Chick McGee
He's going to be doing a special one nighter, as they say. And in Dayton, oh, with the famous funny bone. That's tomorrow evening. It's gonna be a Friday nighter. That's awesome.
Greg Hahn
Love it.
Chick McGee

Chick McGee
You're not going to get it. You're not going to offend anybody.
Greg Hahn
Oh, no.
Chick McGee
Now we have Christy Lee over there at the news desk with some inoffensive news after some pretty rough stuff this morning. We had the guy who cut his genitals off and set them on fire.
Greg Hahn
I say one, one thing with Christie, also with Jess. I've learned how to handle any argument with a woman. Woman, how to wrap it up, how Was that. Seriously? I know how to. To wrap it up on a positive note.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
Here you say, why didn't you call? Hey, apology accepted.
Jess Hooker
That.
Tom Griswold
That just might work.
Josh Arnold
Greg, do you think having money would change you at all? If you were a rich.
Greg Hahn
We got to do that. I don't know.
Jess Hooker
Hold on.
Greg Hahn
Where's the notes? Hold on a second. I don't. I don't know. I don't. At 4 million, I could be pleasant. At 6 million, I could be affable. Oh, at 10 million, I'd be furious. Again, it's not there yet, John.
Josh Arnold
Interesting.
Greg Hahn
You just wrote it 20 minutes ago.
Josh Arnold
It's working.
Chick McGee
There's something there. Yeah, I liked it very much.
Tom Griswold
I shall flesh that out now, Christy
Chick McGee
Lee, I know you had to. You've had to read some rough stuff today.
Jess Hooker
Here's something kind of weird. The sideburn facial hairstyle, which our boss likes to wear, was once so popular that 19th century British men and women.
Tom Griswold
Oh.
Jess Hooker
Took to wearing fake whiskers to get in on the craze.
Chick McGee
It's weird that the ladies would want.
Josh Arnold
It is weird.
Jess Hooker
Dr. Alune Whitney the University of Exeter said whiskers alune a L, U n.
Tom Griswold
And another thing, Daffy.
Jess Hooker
Unless that's a typo, and it should be Alan, but I'm gonna say Dr. Alun said whiskers quickly became an essential accoutrement to any young man with social pretensions.
Christy Lee
Ah.
Jess Hooker
By 1812, the trend was apparently in full flower. Not only did various lotions crop up, purporting to help men grow and care for their facial hair.
Christy Lee
Yes.
Jess Hooker
But false whiskers were even sold, some of which were attached to wigs via a system of strings. Women also got in on the trend, with some ladies training their hair to fall down the sides of their faces in imitation of whiskers, while others drew in whiskers on their cheeks using pencils. It petered out by the 1820s.
Josh Arnold
Thank goodness for that.
Jess Hooker
Yeah. God, no. Anybody wouldn't wear facial sideburns anymore, would they?
Josh Arnold
No, woman, I wouldn't think.
Chick McGee
And it was. I'm sorry, it started 1812. Do you think this was to distract from the BO?
Christy Lee
I mean, you're still in the vicinity.
Josh Arnold
I don't think so. I don't think they. I don't think they walked around going, oh, we all have bo.
Christy Lee
No, they just all smelled the same.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
They were all just used to stinking.
Tom Griswold
You get used to it. Yeah.
Chick McGee
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And perfume was still. Was around.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah.
Josh Arnold
But.
Jess Hooker
So, Tom, you could be re. Birthing a trend. The sideburns could be all coming back now.
Chick McGee
Do you know the origin of the name Sideburns?
Josh Arnold
Wasn't it an actual guy, a general?
Jess Hooker
Wasn't it, Admiral?
Tom Griswold
But his last name wasn't Sideburn. It was.
Chick McGee
Was Burnside. I mean, really? Ambrose?
Josh Arnold
I believe it was, yes.
Tom Griswold
I think Ambrose.
Chick McGee
Ambrose Burnside.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Oh, I had such thick peach fuzz on my face as a kid. And.
Josh Arnold
Well, you're an Italian broad, right?
Christy Lee
And so it was dark and the boys would make fun of me. And so I went home and I shaved the sides of my face. And then I kept shaving and I kept shaving and I got up over my ear.
Greg Hahn
Oh.
Christy Lee
And so I literally. I had to. My dad had to take me to a stop stylus and style my hair because I had, like, an undercut before. It was an undercut because I was so embarrassed what you end up doing about it. I had to wait for it to grow out. Like, essentially, I shaved up into what would be sideburns.
Greg Hahn
I actually.
Josh Arnold
I actually mean your whiskers, because we didn't.
Greg Hahn
She grows it back she comes. Look at her. It's nice.
Josh Arnold
You don't have them now.
Christy Lee
I mean, I have peach fuzz, but I use one of those microplane. What do they call?
Jess Hooker
Thermal planes?
Christy Lee
Yeah. And I dermaplane my face.
Josh Arnold
Well, you do a good job. None of us.
Al Jackson
Thanks.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
So.
Chick McGee
Oh, yeah. What about the stash?
Christy Lee
I pluck that, actually.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Christy Lee
I.
Josh Arnold
What, do you take a whole Sunday
Tom Griswold
slow time to work on the stash?
Josh Arnold
That's also something I don't.
Christy Lee
You've never noticed? No. Oh, man.
Josh Arnold
So you do a good job with that, too.
Christy Lee
Thanks. Yeah. I appreciate it. Not a compliment. I was expecting to get this.
Chick McGee
No.
Tom Griswold
And she cleans up her mustache real nice.
Chick McGee
Do you mind if we go straight south with our discussion?
Christy Lee
I don't care. Yeah, yeah. It's just.
Chick McGee
It's regular, though, right?
Christy Lee
No, I don't pluck. I don't. I. No.
Jess Hooker
Oh, my God.
Christy Lee
I did try the electrolysis. I think that's an outdated term now. They don't even call it that anymore. But where you.
Jess Hooker
Laser hair removal?
Christy Lee
Yes, I tried that for a little bit. Got through one session.
Josh Arnold
Yes, I've heard it. My buddy got that done on his back.
Christy Lee
Yeah. So I have a bald spot. Like, not kidding, because I was like, I can't go back.
Tom Griswold
I'm.
Christy Lee
I'm never going back.
Chick McGee
Too painful.
Christy Lee
It was so painful.
Chick McGee
Was it as bad as the tattoo reminds me removal?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, it was worse.
Chick McGee
It was Worse.
Christy Lee
It was way worse. Yeah.
Chick McGee
How's the tattoo removal going?
Christy Lee
It's. It's good. I have an appointment today. Yeah, I go. I go every six weeks because my arm swells up like Popeye on the bottom after a session.
Chick McGee
Oh, wow.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
So, yeah, this is the laser thing.
Christy Lee
This is the laser.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Is there an odor as they burn
Christy Lee
the ink off there? There can be, but more. I take taste pennies when I. When they start to burn it and they say that that's because there's there. It could be toxic ink. There could have been something in the ink that you weren't aware of and
Josh Arnold
it gets into your bloodstream.
Greg Hahn
Yeah.
Christy Lee
And you taste it. Yeah.
Greg Hahn
Huh.
Josh Arnold
Do they have you drink a bunch? Do they say, hey, drink more water today than you normally?
Christy Lee
Yeah, yeah.
Chick McGee
So you see, I taste pennies. It reminds me of.
Christy Lee
It's a very metallic.
Chick McGee
I see dead people.
Christy Lee
Yeah, right, right.
Tom Griswold
Hello.
Chick McGee
I taste pennies. Oh, yeah.
Christy Lee
I could record it today. Today, Let you guys know how it goes.
Greg Hahn
Isn't this tattoo kind of new?
Christy Lee
It's like five years. Yeah, like 10 years ago probably.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. So.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Chick McGee
How much of it is gone?
Christy Lee
It's significant. I'm, I'm. It's faded a lot.
Chick McGee
Oh, wow.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, yeah.
Christy Lee
So. Yeah, we'll get there.
Greg Hahn
Well, we're all calming down. This is sad.
Tom Griswold
Yeah, I know.
Greg Hahn
Chick's not drinking so much. You're getting tattoos taken off.
Josh Arnold
What?
Chick McGee
Hey, what do you got going?
Greg Hahn
What a nightmare. I want to drink too much and call everybody we dated in the 90s. Yes. I'd like to know why there was never a date.
Josh Arnold
Number two.
Chick McGee
Christy Lee is at the news desk. What else have you got over there?
Jess Hooker
Oh, this is a scary but sweet story. A dog went potipaw with a bear to protect a young boy in Connecticut recently. Home security footage captured the little guy playing in the driveway of his Torrington home when a bear sprints into the frame. Seconds later, the family's 11 year old husky named Bella. She's a good girl. Jumps in to chase the bear across the driveway and away from the child. Bella's owner, Jeffrey Tazara told USA Today that there were no injuries to the 6 year old child or to Bella the dog. Do we have this video, Jason? Here we go. This is scary. I mean, yeah, the dog takes that bear and just. Wow.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, really make. Get out of here, pal.
Jess Hooker
Get away.
Josh Arnold
We don't want you.
Chick McGee
Yeah, my golden retriever probably be trying to mate with it. Good boy, good girl.
Tom Griswold
In this case, husky bit her, bit the Bear on the butt.
Josh Arnold
Really did.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. You don't take my kid.
Greg Hahn
No.
Tom Griswold
Right.
Chick McGee
Where was this again?
Jess Hooker
In Connecticut.
Chick McGee
Wow, these bears are getting everywhere.
Josh Arnold
Yeah, I saw one recently at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
And a dog was kind of shooing it away from the house.
Jess Hooker
Oh, wow.
Josh Arnold
And they run weird. Black bears. They're more hunched than you think.
Tom Griswold
It could have been a guy in a suit. Now that I think about it, it may in fact. Yeah, yeah.
Greg Hahn
Man in a bear suit.
Josh Arnold
Harvey. Harvey the Bearman, we call him. Yeah, he runs rampant.
Greg Hahn
I'm at the dog show.
Tom Griswold
Until he got shot last year was an elk. This year's is a bear.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Conservation authorities in India have rescued a wild elephant that fell into a well.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Jess Hooker
According to the New Indian Express, the roughly 20 year old male elephant was found trapped in a well on a residential property.
Chick McGee
This is like, by the way, the, the. The in India. This is the show Lassie.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Josh Arnold
Yes.
Chick McGee
Remember Lassie? I don't know where. I don't know where Lassie lived in that TV show, but every week it was either a mine, a forest fire, or a well.
Josh Arnold
Well, what are you trying to tell us, fella?
Jess Hooker
Forest rangers used an excavator to build a mud ramp and help the elephant climb out of the well. They are monitoring now his health via a drone.
Chick McGee
I have a question.
Jess Hooker
Yes.
Chick McGee
Let's just say that's your well. I'm saying I'm gonna pass on the water for a month or two.
Josh Arnold
Who knows, Maybe there's less poop now.
Tom Griswold
Still tastes like elephants.
Jess Hooker
And scientists at the University of Cambridge have shown that sheep can recognize human faces.
Tom Griswold
Uh huh.
Chick McGee
Boy, this is. This is. There are farm boys out there now going, oh, yeah, I gotta start wearing a fake mustache.
Jess Hooker
Researchers trained the animals by displaying a celebrity's photo alongside a stranger's on a computer screen.
Josh Arnold
Well, that's Tom DeLuise.
Tom Griswold
Is he still out there?
Jess Hooker
Choosing the celebrity earned the sheep a food reward, while a wrong choice triggered a buzzer. After training, the sheep correctly identified familiar faces 80% of the time. Celebrities did include Emma Watson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and former President Barack Obama.
Josh Arnold
How strange.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I wonder if they can recognize sweaters
Jess Hooker
that used to be mine.
Josh Arnold
That's Kevin.
Tom Griswold
I wonder what happened to him.
Christy Lee
That's.
Josh Arnold
That's really weird.
Chick McGee
I wonder why they're doing that. I don't know why they're looking into that. I mean, yes. I mean, horses can recognize people, of course.
Tom Griswold
Why is that? A study.
Jess Hooker
Chimpanzees can Recognize people, orangutans.
Chick McGee
It's the visual though, not the with dogs. I'm off. I often wonder if it's the aroma. Aroma.
Josh Arnold
Oh, sure, yeah. They can pick out the smells.
Chick McGee
This is done with photographs, right. And you have to wonder what the sheep are saying though. You said one of them was was former President Obama. It's kind of hilarious.
Josh Arnold
He was the black sheep.
Chick McGee
Thank you.
Tom Griswold
That's very good.
Greg Hahn
Well, let's just make that up. That right that fast.
Josh Arnold
I'm telling you, man, this guy's good.
Greg Hahn
I'm telling you.
Josh Arnold
Creatine and magnesium every morning.
Greg Hahn
Magnesium.
Tom Griswold
His brain can overload.
Greg Hahn
Rose hips. Horny goat weed. Guys fired up Rose.
Tom Griswold
Oh, yeah. Doubled up on the rose Ashwagandha.
Greg Hahn
Now we're gonna caffeine and red dye six.
Chick McGee
What's coming up, Christy Lee?
Jess Hooker
Coming up, we have a great story about a 96 year old who was having some fun in her retirement center. Oh, that's fun, actually. And they wanted to kick her out. But we'll talk about that.
Tom Griswold
All right, grandma, you holding?
Chick McGee
We're gonna talk about her, but right now we're gonna go back over to that NHTSA sports desk with Chick Magee.
Tom Griswold
That's right, Tom. When you speed while driving, you have less time to react. Maybe a sharp turn could take you by surprise. Another car pulls out in front of you. A truck could break suddenly, a cyclist could enter the road ahead. A pedestrian could be walking their dog. And your foot on the gas might lead to a tragedy. You may not think any of these things could happen to you, but. But you won't see them coming until they happen. That's why when you're speeding, you don't have time to course correct. You don't have time to stop. And it only takes an instant for disaster to strike. The speed limit isn't there just to protect you. It's there to protect your passengers, other drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and everyone sharing the road. So slow down, obey the law and help keep everyone around you safe. Because speeding catches up with with you. Paid for by Nitza.
Chick McGee
Thank you, Nitza. We are coming back. We have more delights including a visit with our friend comedian Greg Hahn. And I'll tell you this. Mr. Greg Hahn is doing a special one nighter at the Funny Bone in Dayton. That's Friday night. We are in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios. This is the Bob and Tom Show.
Tom Griswold
This is the Bob and Tom Show. Reach us toll free at 1-88-8-BOB-TOM1 or at Bob and Tom and Tom dot com. This is the Bob and Tom Show. Welcome back to the Bob and Tom Show. We're in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Studios at the news desk. It's Christy Lee.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
There's Jess Hooker.
Jess Hooker
Hello.
Tom Griswold
Great. Han is here.
Greg Hahn
Hello.
Tom Griswold
A Bob and Tom legend, comedian. There's Josh Arnold.
Josh Arnold
Hi.
Tom Griswold
There's Ace Cosby.
Al Jackson
Hello.
Tom Griswold
I'm Chick. Hello, Tom.
Chick McGee
Hello, Chick. Hello, Grace, Greg, Josh.
Josh Arnold
Hi, Tommy.
Chick McGee
Ladies, it's always a pleasure.
Jess Hooker
Thank you.
Greg Hahn
How about when you go to the eye doctor and he looks at your eyes and diagnoses you with halitosis? Then you go to the podiatrist. He says you need arch supports and a breath mint.
Josh Arnold
There's a pattern.
Greg Hahn
I tagged it.
Tom Griswold
Wow. Wow, indeed.
Chick McGee
Then where do you go? I'm sorry, Christy Lee is.
Jess Hooker
You can go over here to the 96 year old social media influencer. I know how much you love those, Tom. She's living in a Connecticut retirement community. Says she was threatened with eviction for throwing her late night parties.
Josh Arnold
Oh, boy.
Jess Hooker
Lillian Droniac, known online as Grandma Droniac.
Tom Griswold
This is the Droniac 9000 shared the
Jess Hooker
warning letter that she received onto her social media account. It states the staff had received, quote, many noise complaints about her room, reminding Ms. Dronak that parties are not allowed and you cannot serve alcohol to other residents. After reading the letter, the nonogenarian whatever tore it up and said, Definitely, I pay $12,000 a month to live here. I can party if I want. You can't stop me.
Tom Griswold
12,000.
Al Jackson
Wow.
Jess Hooker
12,000amonth?
Christy Lee
Yeah, yeah, it's, it's, it's like a senior living facility.
Jess Hooker
So kind of it's everything. Take care of all your meals. They do all the cleanup.
Greg Hahn
Roniac the Maniac. You're not going to stop her. 90. 96.
Jess Hooker
96.
Greg Hahn
You already made it.
Jess Hooker
You guys haven't had to put somebody in a facility.
Greg Hahn
You don't tell her anything.
Chick McGee
She's hot, though. I saw the picture. She's got a tramp stamp under her diaper. She is hot.
Jess Hooker
A representative for the Influencer told people the matter has since been resolved. The retirement home, she's gonna allow, they're gonna allow her to stay, but she can't serve alcohol at her parties anymore.
Christy Lee
That's hilarious.
Josh Arnold
Bring her buzz kill.
Jess Hooker
Well, she doubled down on that.
Chick McGee
Isn't Clint Eastwood 96 or so now?
Jess Hooker
Yeah, he's up there.
Tom Griswold
He's been alive for every World cup they've ever had since 19.
Chick McGee
How old is Mr. Shatner?
Josh Arnold
40.
Chick McGee
Mr. Shatner.
Tom Griswold
Is he Shatner's in his 90s, I think.
Jess Hooker
I think Grandma Droniac said my nursing home can't stop me partying through the last chapter of my life.
Christy Lee
Life.
Chick McGee
She's a droney act.
Tom Griswold
Droney. How's that song go? That's exactly how it goes.
Jess Hooker
There she is.
Greg Hahn
Oh, there she is. Look at her.
Christy Lee
Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Ah, she's great for 96.
Tom Griswold
I mean, don't you think that she has one of those T shirts that has an arrow?
Josh Arnold
I know, but we can't see what it says.
Tom Griswold
I can only imagine it says eyes up here.
Josh Arnold
That's funny. Shouldn't she be wearing those on her pants?
Chick McGee
Oh, that's hilarious. Does it really say that?
Christy Lee
Yes.
Chick McGee
Oh, that's funny.
Jess Hooker
She's a partier. I love her.
Greg Hahn
She looks very good. 96, doesn't she?
Christy Lee
4 million followers.
Tom Griswold
I bet she tells everybody she doesn't color her hair. And I bet she does.
Jess Hooker
That's exactly the same color my mom had.
Tom Griswold
Real cat.
Chick McGee
Your mom's hair Was. Was it dyed?
Jess Hooker
Yes. That color.
Chick McGee
Okay.
Jess Hooker
Oh yeah. There's no way that's.
Chick McGee
It's like Margaret 96.
Tom Griswold
No, it's a red. The russet potato look.
Greg Hahn
She looks like Mrs. Firebird Ball.
Josh Arnold
Looks like if Bruce Valiant shaved his beard.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. And you know what? Every now and then he will shave his beard. And it's horrible looking.
Chick McGee
If you don't like the music, take out your hearing aid. Dolores, you.
Josh Arnold
More vodka. Metamucil.
Chick McGee
12k a month. Seems kind of steep.
Josh Arnold
I think that's probably. That might be somewhat on the higher end. But those are pricey. Those are pricey places.
Jess Hooker
Mom was at 10. Yeah, boy.
Josh Arnold
And she didn't deserve.
Chick McGee
What happens when it starts? When the money runs out.
Jess Hooker
What happens when the money runs out?
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Christy Lee
Kick them out.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, I guess.
Tom Griswold
Turn her out on the street. Make her earn her money.
Josh Arnold
Yeah. Tricks baby.
Chick McGee
Is that a category?
Josh Arnold
Oh, I.
Tom Griswold
Erotic.
Josh Arnold
Now for her. I don't know if good guilf is a category.
Chick McGee
Yeah. Nana. Nana.
Jess Hooker
That's a mouthful, isn't it? Well, she would be.
Tom Griswold
Oh, she's got a mouthful. I'm sure.
Christy Lee
One of her other T shirts said to do list and then marked off it says your dad.
Chick McGee
Oh, funny.
Al Jackson
Wow.
Josh Arnold
Hey, did you. Did you really sleep with my cat?
Al Jackson
Lady.
Jess Hooker
One of the most complete T. Rex skeletons is going up for auction. Sotheby says the approximately 67 million year old fossil dubbed Gus is one of the largest T. Rexes ever found. Gus, measuring 38ft long, almost 13ft tall. Well, you're gonna have to take out the top floor for this one, aren't you?
Josh Arnold
Yeah, but 13ft tall. Is it a baby?
Jess Hooker
The skeleton is approximately 61% complete, boasting 183 fossil bone elements. You can check out, Gus. At a presale estimate, 20 to 30 million dollars. It'll go up for auction on July 14th.
Josh Arnold
I think if I were Bezos or somebody, why not give me a T. Rex skeleton?
Tom Griswold
It's not entirely T. Rex. This is good for 14 million. I want 100% T. Rex.
Josh Arnold
I'm with you.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
This is going to end up like an Elon Musk's Lake Tahoe cottage.
Josh Arnold
Sure.
Jess Hooker
Would you fill in the missing parts
Josh Arnold
or would you do. Yeah, I would.
Jess Hooker
You fill in the missing parts like an erector.
Chick McGee
No, it's ruining. It's like buying a classic car. Car and putting in an aftermarket radio.
Tom Griswold
Well, you want to listen to radio.
Jess Hooker
They still. If you buy a classic car, they still. They'll fix them up.
Chick McGee
I mean, but I would don't. They would put like little spanners in and stuff where the.
Josh Arnold
That's what I would do with this. Yeah. I would make it look. The fake would look like the real.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, right.
Josh Arnold
But you know. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
Yeah.
Greg Hahn
You're gonna buy one of those.
Josh Arnold
A T. Rex. Yeah.
Al Jackson
House.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
Ideally, doesn't the name Gus seem a little bit.
Josh Arnold
That's what's funny to me.
Greg Hahn
Casual.
Josh Arnold
Casual.
Al Jackson
Yeah.
Chick McGee
I mean, it's. It's supposed to be like a really evil.
Josh Arnold
I like that dichotomy, don't you?
Chick McGee
Big tooth.
Greg Hahn
They took the edge off.
Tom Griswold
Yeah.
Chick McGee
You want it that way.
Jess Hooker
Yeah, like a little.
Josh Arnold
Like, I'd probably go like Lucy or something. You know what I like even Dorothy.
Chick McGee
But you want a villain name.
Tom Griswold
Isn't that the one?
Josh Arnold
No, because that's what everybody would expect.
Greg Hahn
I'd name him Slippery Joe Butterman.
Josh Arnold
Dude, that is absolutely the name.
Tom Griswold
And if you're asking was he in politics. Oh, yes, Slippery Joe was in politics,
Chick McGee
but in reality, to be. Shouldn't this be in a museum so kids can enjoy it instead of in some billionaire? You get on the yacht and they've got a lobby in the yacht up front. Yes, yes, we have. We have a T. Rex on the boat.
Tom Griswold
Yes.
Josh Arnold
But what if selling it keeps that museum open for the next 50 years?
Christy Lee
That's true, too.
Chick McGee
Now you're giving me a moral dilemma.
Josh Arnold
It is a moral dilemma.
Chick McGee
What if we take the billionaire, put him in a cage? Cage in the museum.
Jess Hooker
Now you got it. Doesn't say who's selling the T. Rex. So we don't know who owns it, so I don't know where.
Josh Arnold
The money's going to be a private.
Chick McGee
Here's the thing. This is a. This says Nick Cage once outbid Leo DiCaprio for a T. Rex skull.
Tom Griswold
Wow.
Chick McGee
He bought it for $276,000. The skull was later found to have been smuggled out of Mongolia and had to be returned.
Josh Arnold
Leo didn't want to buy it after he found out it was older than 26. Thank you very much.
Tom Griswold
Ginkgo, you're on fire over there.
Chick McGee
So I wonder. I wonder who did he get his money back?
Josh Arnold
Well, the. The bidder or Nicholas Cage.
Jess Hooker
Because they found it. It was stolen. I don't know.
Josh Arnold
Oh, yeah, he probably. Yeah. Yeah.
Jess Hooker
They probably.
Josh Arnold
I don't know. Maybe he didn't get his money back. There's a reason he did. Ghost Rider 2 and Spider Noir or
Chick McGee
whatever the hell it is.
Josh Arnold
Is it good?
Tom Griswold
I haven't. I'm gonna. I'm gonna make. I'm gonna check it out.
Josh Arnold
I. I think I'd like to.
Tom Griswold
Also trying to keep an open mind.
Chick McGee
This is the TV Spider Man.
Tom Griswold
Yeah. He's on Amazon. There's a series on.
Josh Arnold
I love Cage. I love Nick.
Tom Griswold
He gets it bit by the spider.
Greg Hahn
I guess he's still acting. He is, yeah. Okay. And it's great, huh?
Josh Arnold
Yeah. He's doing some really good stuff as of late. Watch the movie Pig.
Greg Hahn
Pig. Okay.
Tom Griswold
Pig's really good.
Chick McGee
Now I want to remind everybody that we have some cool stuff in the pop up store.
Josh Arnold
Store.
Chick McGee
It's the Babaton Pop up store. It's going to be open until what? Friday.
Christy Lee
Sunday.
Chick McGee
This Sunday.
Christy Lee
Okay. See that sign right there that says
Chick McGee
Sunday Pop up store closes Sunday, July 12th.
Al Jackson
Yep.
Chick McGee
I was looking at my sheet. Is it on here too? We've got your.
Tom Griswold
It's okay, honey. There's somebody else's.
Chick McGee
Your fleece shorts.
Josh Arnold
Pick one of those.
Chick McGee
Take it home with your Pat Godwin shirts, your Bob and Tom hats and a bunch of cool. Even that.
Tom Griswold
Cool. You want a hat? I'll sign it for.
Jess Hooker
For you.
Chick McGee
Okay. It's once again the Bob and Tom store. Including the Camp Radio Wood T shirts. They're very fancy. They're very nice. Thanks so much for joining us, Greg Hahn, one of my favorite human beings and a terrific comedian. And I'll say this sincerely. If you have a business you're looking to do a Christmas party, this is the best guy you can get. And he's not going to offend anyone. And he might even. This episode of The BOB & TOM Show blends signature absurdist comedy, offbeat news, banter about everyday life, sports stories, listener letters, and interviews with comedians Greg Hahn and Al Jackson. The show’s hallmark is irreverent humor, with the hosts and guests riffing on topics including carnival food gadgets, questionable world records, travel mishaps, body modifications, bizarre news, and pop culture oddities.
The July 9, 2026, The BOB & TOM Show episode is a quintessential installment: unpredictable, rapid-fire, and filled with original sketches, lively conversation, comedic guest takes, and shocking but hilarious news stories. Whether riffing on the perils of modern travel, dissecting culture’s weirdest trends, or auditioning Led Zeppelin-themed plumber jingles, the hosts maintain relentless (and sometimes ruthless) humor—all in the show’s original, unapologetic style.
If you missed this episode, you missed jokes you never knew you needed, a bevy of useless trivia, and some side-splitting (if slightly tasteless) laughs.
