I had a dad come up to me at basketball practice and be like, are you keeping up with the draft? I'm like, nope. All right.

And so he ended up going four to Colorado, which Matt played for Colorado, so it's super cool. So, I mean, that is cool.

Yeah, he got drafted by the Rockies. Right, Matt? Did you.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, like Seventh round. Matt was also like a four star quarterback in high school back in the day. Yeah, he was seventh round in 1998, I believe. And so Ethan, fourth overall.

[Eddie]

That's cool.

[Bobby Bones]

Pretty cool. It's like six foot four. He's four inches taller than his brother. Maybe three inches taller than his brother who got drafted number one overall two years ago by Baltimore. Yeah, yeah. So that is a bloodline.

[Eddie]

Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

Seriously, like two boys, both the number one high school player when they came out, one went number one overall, one.

[Kevin]

Number four overall and their entire family.

[Bobby Bones]

Right.

I remember, if I remember correctly, like grandpa and everybody played like high, like football or baseball players from back in the day.

[Eddie]

And was Ethan at Oklahoma State?

[Bobby Bones]

No, he was in high school. Oh, still water.

I saw Stillwater, so I thought, okay, got it.

[Bobby Bones]

Started a high school, so that happened. There's nothing though. And Eddie and I go through in a few minutes, like all my favorite videos from TikTok. We kind of walk through that. That's where we are in sports right now.

[Eddie]

There's a lot of TikTok.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, yeah. I'm so entertained by there.

[Kevin]

Always a lot of tick tock.

[Bobby Bones]

Yes. I sent Eddie a video last night. It's a kid, he's like 7 years old and he's learning how to hit a ball off a tee. And the coach is like, okay, look what you want to do when you swing, you want to make sure you get your chest out in front and you follow through. And the kids like, got it. Whack. Nails it, hits it right into the coach, like, just hits while the coach is standing in front of the tee.

[Eddie]

But that's what I understand. The coach knew, like, he was facing right towards him.

[Bobby Bones]

But the coach wasn't like, hit now. He was just saying, like, when you want to do it. He was standing by the tee, just showing him. And the kid just goes, okay, whack. And just drills him right in the chest, hits it hard.

[Kevin]

How old was the kid?

[Bobby Bones]

Probably seven or. Oh, yeah, he's little, but I'm talking about at least it wasn't nutshot.

[Eddie]

It was close. It was close.

[Bobby Bones]

Maybe right above him, right in the chest.

[Eddie]

Yeah, it was crazy. So you seen those videos where. So you turn but don't move your shoulders very much. Oh, dang.

[Kevin]

Oh, that was a loud pop.

Yeah, man, I'm telling you, I could have ripped it right into him. What were you saying?

[Eddie]

Those videos were like, they just show, like, they're shown just like a regular baseball play, but the ball fall, flies right into the lens where you're watching it freaks me out every time.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, yeah. No sports. The Office spun off. The paper will premiere on Peacock September 4, which I think it's going to be good because most people don't expect it to be good. Yeah, it can't possibly be as good as the Office, because the Office was a part of our lives for not only the years while it was on, it's remained in our lives. We formed a relationship with it. That's why it's so good. It's the same reason a movie is never as good as the book. Because the book has time. The book. You're able to read on your own pace. You're able to get to know the characters. The book has 400 pages. The book. A movie has three hours. So people are like, man, the movie's never as good as the book. Of course, you had three hours with the movie. You spent two weeks with the book thinking about it. In between. It's the same thing when shows. There's no way the show is going to be any good. Except I just don't think they'd put it out if it wasn't really good. Like, I'm going to go, I'm going to zag on this. Most people are going, there's no way this show is going to suck. I think it'll be good.

[Kevin]

Are you going to be locked in or just kind of see how it goes?

[Bobby Bones]

I'll have to see how it goes because I don't think there's a whole lot of continuation. There may be a character or two. I don't really know what's happening. There have been rumors about other characters, like, showing up in the paper, but. So I'm only going to be locked in if the sense of. If I think it's funny by itself. I'm not really going to lock in because it's just a derivative of the Office or it's a spin off of the Office.

I mean, they should throw chit in there.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah.

I mean, Chit is so funny. It seems like he'd be perfect for an Office kind of show. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Two of those guys did. They created chit. He just does the sketches. And his. His whole profile has like 18 videos on it, and it's only chit. And all the videos have millions of views. Yeah, because, like, when we play golf, it's. It's recreational to me. It's just a good time. But every time, like, we get to about hole 14, 13, Bobby's like, what do you got? And then I'm like, oh, we Count him up. He's like, all right, I got you by one. And then I'm like, oh, okay, here we go. Now it's a competition. And then we start, like battling it out when like one person has a stroke lead. And I feel like if we're going to do this, let's just play dude. Let's just do a four round tournament. And whoever wins it is just the better golfer.

I don't know. They've sold it yet. But I would assume it's like a Netflix. A streamer, probably.

I bet they sell it bigger than that, though. I bet you Netflix buys a series or a movie. I think it's such a big story. I would think, like, a Hulu or Netflix would get in the. On the jump instead of, like, the Britney Spears tell. All right. Which was life.

Yeah, he's amazing. I feel like Jesse Plumage is that to me now, where there have been a couple roles that have actually shined the light back on how good he's been in other stuff, too. Yeah.

So what you See is a sea turtle that crawls up on the side, on the side of a boat. It's a big turtle, big turtle. And puts his arms over the boat. Now the turtle opens his mouth and he has all of like these shards of metal and aluminum in between his teeth. So he's in pain litter. And he comes up and puts his arms over and opens his mouth and lets the human pull it all out of his. Out of his mouth.

[Eddie]

That's amazing.

[Bobby Bones]

And so they're playing this emotional music as the sea turtle is sitting there with his mouth open and this human who's in the boat is aware enough to one, not go get off turtle. Or two, not go, like, we got us a sea turtle, pull it in, look in the mouth, start to pull it. And as he's pulling out, the sea turtle opens his mouth even more.

[Eddie]

That's amazing.

[Bobby Bones]

And when he's done, sea turtle just lets go and goes into the water. Wow. I think I saved that too cuz it was kind of emotional.

This is a little different. But did you see the guy that got bit by the shark that he caught?

Is like in Nantucket and he caught like I want to say maybe six foot shark. It was a monster, dude, huge. And there's people on the beach all watching and him and his buddies are like trying to get the hook off, which at that point just cut it, cut the line and let him go. Right. But no one dude's on top of it. He's got the nose, you know, pulling the nose up. And the other one's trying to get the hook out. And they finally get the hook out and then the guy that caught it grabs the fish, grabs the shark by the tail and pulls it in the shallow water. And as he puts in the shallow water, he lets it go. Shark turns around, bites him in the foot.

Probably because he's so scared.

[Eddie]

Yeah, well, yeah, I mean like he.

Just went through a traumatic experience. Yeah. Doesn't understand the intention of what just happened to it, but yeah.

And then the guy, you can see the guy get bit and then he kind of like lets the shark go, acts cool and then he just kind.

Of like how, how was he injured? Like bad.

You know, I. I see what you're saying, but like I just saw Pearl Jam and I know they're old and I know they're way older, but. Yeah, but I don't see it that way. Like you go and you're live, you're. You're as old as they are now. Like whatever age you were when they were big, you're that same age. So nothing really changed except all you guys are a little older.

[Bobby Bones]

I disagree because like Adam Durtz is 61 now and it's like, yeah, he's looking older. So are we. We're all getting older and it kind of sucks. Let me think about my. Yeah, I think it would be fun. I do think.

I think it'd be awesome.

But I think it'd be a constant reminder too. It would. It would be fun because it's blast from the past. Everybody loves, you know, reliving their glory days. But it also Reminds you you're not in your glory days anymore either.

That's true, too. But if that's all there is on the boat, you have no reminder that there's anything younger except lie. Except when you get off the boat.

I don't know how true this is, but I saw someone else was talking about Gin Blossoms. How. What's the other band? And I don't know why. Maybe I'm not the only one. But I always get them confused with Johnny Resnick's man. What's his. What's that?
