Bobby Bones
This is a podcast called 25 Whistles.
Eddie
Talking football and they all wear a whistle yet Stupid.
Bobby Bones
But what did you expect? It's a podcast called 25 Whistles. 25 Whistles. Hey, Jason Campbell. Coming up, former Redskin quarterback, former Auburn quarterback. We'll talk to him. We can do all our favorite teams real quick.
Kevin
Eddie's dying.
Bobby Bones
Oh, sorry.
Eddie
I was. Kevin, I couldn't talk.
Kevin
He was going crazy over there.
Eddie
I was turning blue.
Bobby Bones
I got all my notes. That's ready to go. You're good, dude. I got two pages of firing up. Okay, I'll go first. Arkansas did not play. We do play Tennessee this week in Knoxville.
Eddie
Was that a relaxing weekend for you?
Bobby Bones
No, I hate it. Oh, I hate it. Because what am I looking forward to then? I watch for other random teams, right? Yeah, it sucks the Cubs got crushed that Saturday game, one o'. Clock. I at least had that because Arkansas didn't play. But the Cubs played at one. They're playing Milwaukee. And Milwaukee scored nine runs in the first two innings. So I didn't have that. Yeah, it was over quick. So my two teams, one didn't play, one lost. So there you go. That's it. Now if we go over to Eddie with the Cowboys.
Eddie
Hey, we back, baby.
Bobby Bones
I mean, honestly, I think Dax probably one or two in the MVP race right now.
Eddie
I mean, he is playing out of his mind, which I love. I mean, we went into this game with again, CD Lamb still out, Turpin's out. We've got a couple people just out. But they played great. The defense stepped it up. Whatever Eber Fluz is doing, he's doing great things. They're shifting, baby. I know they're playing the jets, but.
Bobby Bones
That was going to say, you know what they're doing playing the Jets.
Eddie
I know, but.
Kevin
But people.
Eddie
People always say, like, oh, man, don't you want like a. A more a close game? It's like, no, no. Exactly what happened Sunday is exactly what I like.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, good. Cowboys win.
Eddie
It was fun.
Bobby Bones
Two, two and one now and one. That's considered a winning record, though.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Two, two and one.
Kevin
Crazy Patriots.
Bobby Bones
The big win last night.
Eddie
Good job.
Kevin
Talk about Being back boys.
Bobby Bones
I stayed up late last night. Well, we have a bunch of money on it because we have them in our league. Yeah, but I stayed up late watching that game. That's a huge win for them.
Kevin
Huge. I thought they were going to throw it away for sure.
Bobby Bones
They went, tried how many stupid penalties.
Kevin
I know they're doing. I could not believe it. I was like, get this guy off the field right now. Both of them. And then somehow they still pull it off. Drake May is the next coming of Josh Allen. And I love to watch it, love to see it on his.
Bobby Bones
You can't say he's the next coming of Josh Allen.
Kevin
I mean, he looks pretty dang close. Doesn't he though? I mean, how much he runs and gets out, that's famous.
Mike
He looked great, though.
Kevin
He did look great. That's what I'm saying. On Josh Allen's turf. Come on.
Bobby Bones
Not going to argue he didn't look great. But to say he's the next coming of Josh Allen.
Eddie
Come on, man.
Kevin
You got to start somewhere.
Bobby Bones
Yes. By not saying he's the next coming of Josh Allen.
Eddie
And your guy Stevenson fumbling again.
Kevin
Oh, don't get me started, dude.
Bobby Bones
The penalties.
Kevin
Oh, it's too much. Luckily Buffalo might have been even worse as far as like penalties. I think they had a little more yards. They had another turnover. Couple bad turnovers for them. So that saved us. Thank God.
Bobby Bones
Another one of my teams won. I forgot.
Eddie
Oh, the Panthers, man.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah, I forgot about that.
Eddie
That's not who you're talking about.
Bobby Bones
They came back Now Florida Gators because my team's anybody who plays Texas. Mike. It's terrible. That is terrible. Arch is buns, man.
Kevin
He's.
Bobby Bones
He is pure butt cheeks. It looks like you're right. He can't even throw the ball. Yeah. And when he does, because I saw them post a clip because I didn't. I was flipping back and forth. I saw I missed the long touchdown he threw, but I watched it like seven times. The, like arches back even. It's like an underarm fling.
Kevin
Yeah, he's.
Bobby Bones
His mechanics are weird. And then for that one player, backup quarterback came in, throws a dart. Oh, my gosh. Why can't we have that Helmet came off, so the backup guy has to come in. Freaking.
Eddie
That's funny.
Bobby Bones
Like a 16 yard out. Boom.
Kevin
On the money.
Bobby Bones
On the money. It's number one and number two. Preseason are now not ranked.
Kevin
Crazy.
Bobby Bones
Penn State and Texas. That was an ugly Penn State game. Like when we had them my parlay and they didn't hit. But I liked watching them lose more than I want to hit the parlay. Yeah. Yeah. It's kind of fun because we hit the other two.
Kevin
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
But. Yeah, that's crazy. But that's probably.
Kevin
I mean, UCLA's got to be bottom five schools in the power four.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, they're bad. Yeah.
Eddie
They're not good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I say that. I'm like, yeah, Arkansas. Yeah.
Kevin
Well, no, Arkansas is like seven or so.
Bobby Bones
So. Yeah. Preseason Number one, Texas. Number two, Penn State. Number four, Clemson. Or a combined eight and seven. After week six, I watched a lot of the Clemson, North Carolina game.
Eddie
Oh, North Carolina.
Bobby Bones
It was like watching two villains fight. You know, either way, you're going to feel pretty good because one of them just lost.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Belichick's not a villain to me, is he?
Kevin
I was going to say, is he a villain?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Kevin
I honestly forget he's even coaching.
Bobby Bones
That's better that way. If you're, like, a Patriot fan.
Kevin
Yeah. I don't even think about it. We got the North Carolina quarterback on the Patriots now with Mike Vrabel. Let's go. Now. I'm ready.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it was bad. Clemson just lined up and they were bigger and faster in every way.
Kevin
I saw the first play. Didn't they score in, like, the first play?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it was. They threw it as a wide receiver pass. So Clemson gets the ball. They throw it out to the. Like, the wide receiver or the running back, like, on a screen. I was watching it. I was working out. And then he throws, and it was just.
Kevin
It was over from there.
Bobby Bones
They never got their bearings back.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So, yeah. Okay, let me just go through some notes here. Okay. I have Jackson darts. Necklace looks freaking ridiculous. I've made fun of it every week.
Eddie
Oh, I thought you'd say awesome.
Bobby Bones
No, it's not awesome.
Eddie
It's loud.
Bobby Bones
It's like a perfectly shaped necklace. So it's not even like a hanging chain. Yeah, like a hanging chain. I would be like, okay, I'm too old. But even I like hanging. I don't mind chains. I like when players play in chains. That's cool. His is like something you go to Zales, it's just around his neck, and he's wearing, like, a choker over his turtleneck. It is not cool. Yeah, it was not cool before he started. I remember seeing it when he was coming in for packages with Russ, and I thought, that necklace is not good. Like, he. It's. It's literally a necklace, not a chain. There's a difference.
Mike
Sister's necklace.
Bobby Bones
You're lying.
Mike
That's what it says.
Eddie
Oh, really?
Mike
Jackson Dart took sparkling heart necklace from sister's room.
Bobby Bones
Are you sure that's not a joke?
Eddie
Is it because she's, like, not doing well or something?
Mike
No, it's.
Bobby Bones
Sorry. Are you sure that's not written like satire? You just got onion.
Mike
What's on Fox Sports.
Eddie
Okay, they don't.
Bobby Bones
They don't jump around. But why would you wear it outside your clothes? No way. That thing looks. I believe. No, no, I believe you, but that thing looks like it's worth $100,000 or more.
Kevin
Oh, yeah. Like a little sister wouldn't have sentimental diamond heart sentiment.
Bobby Bones
No, no, it's a. No, no. He may have that on, but I'm talking about the whole necklace. Chain. The chain thing he has on, there's.
Mike
A. Oh, it's like jewels. Wait, I'm sending.
Bobby Bones
Let me see what it is.
Kevin
Yeah, it's like his good luck charm.
Bobby Bones
No, I need to see. Well, then we're under your shirt because it looks ridiculous. I'm not falling off this one.
Kevin
Hey, we were right there with you.
Bobby Bones
Hold on.
Kevin
At least it makes sense.
Eddie
No, I know, right?
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
His dead mother and dead dog are both in a diamond.
Eddie
Then you're like, okay, man, you can wear that.
Mike
Makes sense.
Bobby Bones
No, that is it. Wear it under your clothes, though, right, dude.
Eddie
And do you even wear it after this game like it's not your good luck charm?
Bobby Bones
Well, he's worn it every game.
Eddie
Okay.
Mike
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
The first. She's alive, right?
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
Oh, man. She's healthy, right?
Mike
Sentimental diamond.
Bobby Bones
Like, she's not dead, so take it off.
Eddie
Sentimental. Is that the name of the style of necklace or is it a sentimental piece of jewelry?
Bobby Bones
I don't know. He needs to stop wearing it, though. Yeah.
Eddie
Either way.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. No, I'm not backing off this one. I'm double down.
Kevin
You like a little, like, bracelet, Rubber bracelet or something like that? Or wear it under your shirt or wear it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, because it looks like a choker. Looks like you're wearing a bling choker. Anyway, he had a bad game. He looked really good. He reminds me you can do both. You can look really good and have a bad game as a rookie. Sure. He reminds me of what Bo Nix was doing last year when I was like, dude, I know he sucks right now, but he's going to be really good. I think Jackson's art's going to be good. He just does not know how to get down. He was way aggressive. He threw some bad picks. But the Giants, like, five possessions in A row. It was like, punt, punt, fumble, fumble, interception.
Kevin
Yeah. Their whole offense just didn't.
Bobby Bones
Didn't look the same with no neighbors.
Eddie
Oh, it's funny that rookie quarterbacks do act like that. Like, they just don't. I would think the first thing the coaches do, like, preseason, like, all right, here's the first thing. You're going to slide. We are going to protect you. You're not going to be an idiot. This is the NFL.
Ad Read Voice
But they always do it.
Eddie
They're just like, I'm not sliding.
Bobby Bones
I don't think it's a rookie thing. I think it's how aggressive they are as runners. More so than it being a rookie thing, because I think Josh Allen did that for two years, almost three. And I think they tell them, they tell them, but it takes usually a couple of hard hits to realize, oh, this is better.
Eddie
They're like stubborn kids.
Kevin
But think about, like, growing up your whole life in high school and college.
Bobby Bones
Like, you are the dude, and you never slid.
Kevin
And you never slid. Like, you're running people over in high school, college, not so much, but still, like, you're the dude I know kind of running people over. And you get to the NFL, and it's probably like, oh, I really can't do this.
Bobby Bones
Nope. But you have to do it to know it. Especially if you've always done it, because instinctually, it's in you. I don't think you just go, right, I'm gonna start playing, and I'm just gonna slide all the time, naturally. Especially if you're going for first downs. Because your idea has always been, I gotta get the first down to get the most yards possible instead of the NFL. It's a lot of times live to play again.
Kevin
The guys that look the most natural, or the baseball players, the Kyler Murrays.
Bobby Bones
It looked like a small kid had escaped.
Eddie
Oh, my God.
Bobby Bones
Yesterday when Kyler Murray. I saw him running around the right side. I thought it was a. I thought it was a child. He looked like a child running.
Eddie
He does. He does. He does. With a big head.
Bobby Bones
He's so small, and I know he's small. That's always the joke. He. But he was like. He broke into. He was around the right side and he was running. It was like I was rooting for the little child to get away from the big man that was chasing him.
Eddie
Don't hurt him. What about when he got hit in the head with that snap?
Bobby Bones
He had to go into, like, concussion. The boss hit him so hard in the helmet. That's what Happens to a kid.
Eddie
That's what I'm saying.
Bobby Bones
They were like, kyler Murray might have a concussion. And they showed the clip and I thought it was going to be of him, like, not sliding. No, it was a shotgun snap to hit him in the head.
Eddie
I mean, how hard was that snap?
Bobby Bones
You can't hit a child in the.
Brian Bosworth
Head with the ball.
Eddie
Okay, that's pretty funny.
Bobby Bones
More notes. I do have a note about that.
Eddie
The head?
Bobby Bones
No, they. The Cardinals running back who flipped the ball.
Eddie
Oh, my God, another one. Guys, how does this cross it? Just cross the line.
Bobby Bones
Every year there's somebody who does this. Yes. College or NFL.
Kevin
Yep.
Bobby Bones
Who flips it. And they have to go to replay and see if they started flipping it right before they crossed the line.
Eddie
It's not like the line is. It's just like, get across and do whatever you want. You do Row, row, row your boat. You can do a snow angel, whatever you want. Just get in the middle of the end zone.
Bobby Bones
It always happens, too. And there's a lot of time to think about it. It never happens. If they're like three yards out or it's a quarterback bootleg, you know, from seven yards out. And they're. It's always something with a 35 or 40 yard catch or run, which was this case. And they have a long time to be like, oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, they toss it. It's real stupid.
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
But even like, was it Jamar Chase or somebody, like, scored and just walked in backwards. Did you see that? Like, even that, like, just get across the line.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I don't mind that. I don't mind, like, like the. Sean old school, like, catch it until.
Kevin
He actually did it, though, Hank.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, he did flip it, though.
Kevin
This is probably the worst one.
Bobby Bones
But.
Kevin
Yeah, no, I don't mind that either.
Bobby Bones
I don't mind you going in backwards, sideways. Just go in sideways. Who cares?
Eddie
But even the walk, like.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Even like Justin Jefferson, like, he did a thing where he caught it.
Kevin
Oh, yeah. Back foot.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Just slowly walked in.
Kevin
I think that looks cool when they do.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. That means you're so far ahead of.
Kevin
Everybody, but if you're running full speed and you still drop, it's like you made it all the way there and this is what you do with it.
Bobby Bones
The funniest one. And I'm glad it's not my team that's doing it. But the funniest one is whenever they do the. I pull my hamstring.
Kevin
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
They run it in, they grab their hamstring and it turns into a dance.
Eddie
You wait for the dance.
Mike
Didn't Jalen Ramsey. Jalen Ramsey did that? Yeah, Last week.
Kevin
Yeah. Against the. The Vikings in. Yeah, Germany, I think it was.
Bobby Bones
That's the last one that I saw. Yeah. Yeah.
Mike
Did you see what Jonathan Gannon did to Demarcato after that happened?
Bobby Bones
No.
Mike
He walked up to him. I mean, it's. I saw it in the news this morning. He walked right up to him, was yelling at him, and punched him. Like, like in his arm or his chest or something. It's like becoming like, really?
Kevin
I saw a video of him yelling at him. I didn't see a punch.
Mike
Like, he. Right. Right after he got done yelling, he, like, hit. Hit him in the chest or the arm. Like, punched him.
Bobby Bones
You know what I mean?
Eddie
He's got shoulder pads on him.
Bobby Bones
He deserved it. No, I don't know.
Eddie
I didn't see it. Like, a punch in the face would be different. Well, a punch in the pad, he.
Bobby Bones
Makes him take his helmet off so he can punch him in the face. Take it off. Take your helmet off because I'm going to punch you.
Eddie
That's different.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Eddie
Punch in the arm. Come on.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Let's see some other stuff here. I have Mark Sanchez. What the crap that went from pure sympathy to wtf?
Eddie
As the news came in more and.
Bobby Bones
More, because everybody was like, prayers for Mark Sanchez. Prayers for Mark Sanchez. And I get it. Mark Sanchez, stabbed late at night. You're thinking he probably got mugged. Probably had a nice watch on. Yes. Something happened and. Nope. Some dude with a truck. Sanchez was drunk, tried to get in the truck. Yeah, because at first you hear the guy was parked in a place and Sanchez, like, you can't park there. And then Sancho tried to get in the truck and the guy pepper sprayed him. And then Sanchez continued. So then he stabbed him.
Kevin
Yeah. The guy said he felt like he was fighting for his life.
Mike
That's.
Bobby Bones
And the guy was like 70. Yeah.
Kevin
69 years old.
Bobby Bones
Why is Santa trying to beat up a seven year old? Right.
Kevin
And what are you doing in the alley of a bar at 12:30 at night?
Eddie
Yeah, so that's a good question. Like, so was it like trying to find a parking space and that guy was delivering something?
Bobby Bones
Sanchez, I don't think was trying to find a parking space for himself, from what I read.
Kevin
I couldn't even. I don't even know if this was true because so many things keep coming out, but, like, they were literally in the back alley, like running sprints or like doing something back and the truck.
Bobby Bones
Was in the way and they couldn't run.
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
Okay.
Kevin
All right. They were just.
Bobby Bones
So now you get it.
Eddie
Well, so when you're drunk, sometimes you're like, I can race you.
Bobby Bones
I can beat you.
Eddie
Or maybe you're doing like little sprint races back there.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's what they were doing.
Kevin
Yeah, I think that's what they were doing.
Bobby Bones
But then the truck parked in the way of the sprints.
Kevin
Yeah. So he told the guy to move his truck, and the guy was like, no.
Eddie
Oh, boy.
Kevin
And that's what it led to, which is just. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And also imagine you're like a small 70 year old man and there's a 6 to 230 pound mark Sanchez trying to get in and beat you up. You know what you do? You spray on pepper spray. And then when that doesn't stop him, you know what you do? Anything. Yeah, because he got the crap. Not Sanchez, the truck driver. He looked terrible in the hospital. Had gashes on his face.
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
So he get stabbed, too?
Bobby Bones
Like, I think he got beat up. Like I think Sanchez. God. Again, this is just me seeing pictures and then reading little news sections because it's all the same. Except a news story will have slightly different variation of what we read. Yeah, it was a crazy one.
Eddie
And that was Friday night.
Bobby Bones
Saturday night.
Eddie
Saturday night.
Bobby Bones
Oh, no. I don't know.
Jason Campbell
Friday night.
Bobby Bones
I don't know.
Kevin
Technically, Saturday morning. Yeah.
Eddie
Yep.
Bobby Bones
Because it wasn't the morning of the game.
Kevin
And then they had to fly Brady Quinn in to do the game.
Bobby Bones
Oh, they had to fly him in.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I believe I know he did it. I didn't know if he was. Yeah. Dang.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So you know what? I feel terrible for the old man because. Yeah, in this, nobody was praying for the old man. It was all prayers for Sanchez. I said this on the show. If I had to, like, tear my prayers, I go old man first. Yeah, I know. Saint just gets it, you know, Hope he's okay. But I don't waste any prayers on him. I've got a double prayer up on the old man.
Kevin
Can't be doing that, man.
Bobby Bones
Old man didn't do anything.
Eddie
Just trying to work deliver his truck.
Kevin
Yeah, there's gonna be video. It comes out at some point.
Eddie
Yeah, they said that there's video. They just haven't released it.
Kevin
Yeah, right.
Mike
So I just sent it to you guys.
Bobby Bones
Video. I'm joking. Brandon has everything the old guys wanted. Jackson dart, sister's necklace.
Eddie
He's got the backstory on all of it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, and we don't even know. We just know what we've read. Football is back and so is your shot at big wins with DraftKings Pick Six, the official daily fantasy partner of the NFL. Bobby Bones
How about the the Karen Lacy or the Not Karen Lacy? We find it here. Yeah, the Karen Lacey.
Kevin
Karen Lacey. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
He wasn't in the accent. I know and I don't know about this. They freakin torched him. He was a LSU player who supposedly was in the created the car accident killed a person. He ended up. He ended up killing himself. He didn't even do it. Now the footage has come out and he was like 70 yards behind. Yeah, I can give you some of this. It's just how the world, how the Internet treated Kyron Lacey when the story first hit. I mean, he was villainized quickly. They said he caused a deadly crash. He was flying down a highway in Louisiana. He was passing cars in a no passing zone and then drove away from the scene while a man lay dying. That story was everywhere, all over social media. People were commenting on the story. People piled on. They were calling him a killer. And then it was proven that he didn't cause the crash. His lawyer released footage showing his car was about 70 yards behind when the impact happened. He didn't hit anybody. He didn't touch another car. And there's now I watched the body cam footage from the cop. There's now evidence that some witnesses may have been coached in their statements.
Eddie
Oh my goodness.
Bobby Bones
Even prosecutors were unsure that he had done anything. But everybody the Internet had completely attacked.
Eddie
So he killed himself in April.
Bobby Bones
Yep, because he was about to go. By the way, he was a LSU football player who was about to have a real shot at the NFL.
Kevin
Yeah, he was good.
Bobby Bones
And the draft stock just took. He was scheduled to face a grand jury in April. Oh yeah. There was no way he was getting drafted. Yeah, he was scheduled to face a grand jury in April. He Never made it. Days before that hearing, he died in a suicide during a police chase in Houston. 24 years old. The guy was labeled a criminal. His name, his future, everything. So that was a terrible story.
Kevin
Yeah, awful.
Bobby Bones
He didn't do it. I watched the footage of the wreck when they showed where his car was, and I watched the copy on body cam coaching the witness.
Kevin
I didn't see that. That's.
Bobby Bones
You see, like, the clipboard.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
In the paper, and he's like. You saw crazy.
Kevin
Jeez.
Bobby Bones
Kid. Kid killed himself because of how everybody was portraying him when he didn't do it. Yeah. That's wild. That sucks. Yeah, that sucks. All right, let me see. What. I didn't have that as a note. I just was, like, following that story. I was preparing it for something else I was gonna do.
Kevin
But, yeah, and his lawyer said, back when he killed himself, the truth will come out. Indeed.
Bobby Bones
And here it is.
Kevin
Yep.
Bobby Bones
All right, so I have Mark Sanchez. I have. Dart's necklace. Looks ridiculous. Hey, Eddie. Yo. Did you know that Troy Eggman went 0 and 11 his first 11 starts? Yeah.
Eddie
You learned that in the documentary?
Bobby Bones
Oh, I didn't watch documentary.
Eddie
They. They were terrible, dude. I did. I didn't know that. Like, looking back at history, like, remembering that part of the Cowboys. I didn't remember that. And I didn't remember Emmett Smith sitting out three games when they were doing contract negotiations. He set out for three games, and they lost all three of them.
Kevin
Yeah. And Jerry said, ah, let's bring him back.
Eddie
Let's pay him. And then they started winning.
Bobby Bones
I bring up the Troy Aikman thing because that was Spencer Rattler's first win Yesterday. He's now 1 in 10, 11 starts. Oh, wow.
Mike
Crazy.
Bobby Bones
He looked pretty good.
Kevin
He.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, he's always kind of looked okay on a terrible team.
Kevin
He fights, man.
Bobby Bones
He does. And he moves well.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And he's got a good arm. His arm has always been strong. Like, that's always been his thing. But, yeah, I was rooting for the Saints yesterday.
Kevin
Yeah. Yeah, he needed that. He kind of felt every week watching him, you're just like, God, this guy needs a win. I'm GLAD they got one for him.
Bobby Bones
He was 0 and 10 in his first 10 NFL starts, so I had that.
Eddie
He can be the next Troy Aikman. What do you say? The new coming. What'd he say?
Bobby Bones
New coming to Josh Allen.
Eddie
Coming to Josh Allen.
Kevin
Second coming of Josh Allen.
Eddie
Maybe second coming to Drake Moon.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, whatever he said. I thought the. I had a big statistical parlay going With. I had like, those are the best three money line games. I had two. Anytime to score touchdowns, I had another and I was in. It was like, I bet like 100 bucks to win, like eight or nine hundred dollars. And the Eagles, all they had to do is win. But I cashed out while they were winning, by the way.
Kevin
Yeah. They're up 17.
Bobby Bones
3. I cashed out something in me. Wow. And then Eddie's like, I was just kidding. You have to cash out. I was like, no, no, no.
Eddie
I said cash out, man.
Bobby Bones
We're.
Eddie
We're approaching the witching hour.
Bobby Bones
And usually. And listen, if Eddie says no offense, I tend to go the opposite way. But I was already feeling. I was already feeling like, I'm going to jump out of this. And thank God I did. But the Eagles did lose. There are no undefeated teams anymore with the Eagles and the Bills losing.
Kevin
Yep.
Bobby Bones
But the no call on the. This is what I wrote. Terrible personal foul call for the Eagles at the end of the game.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
And then no call on a PI. I think that happened there.
Kevin
Goddard. I think.
Bobby Bones
I don't know.
Kevin
Yeah, yeah, they didn't call that. I don't know about the personal foul, though. I remember the no call in the PI though.
Eddie
Sirianni was pissed about that.
Bobby Bones
Well, I wrote it, whatever it is, so somebody else knows.
Eddie
So it happened.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I wrote that. The preseason number one or two teams are both unranked in week seven. Texas and Penn State.
Kevin
Oof.
Bobby Bones
Texas is in no fear of firing their coach. Penn State.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
After that loss.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Another one. I think they think about it.
Mike
Oh, yeah, it's.
Kevin
But that buyout is a 50 million.
Bobby Bones
It would suck to play football at UCLA.
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
I don't know, man.
Bobby Bones
LA, that stadium is massive. And it's never full.
Mike
Right.
Eddie
Is that the old, like, Olympic Stadium?
Bobby Bones
Coliseum.
Eddie
Coliseum, yeah.
Kevin
The Rose Bowl. No, they played the Rose bowl, whatever it is. Yeah. USC plays at the Coliseum.
Bobby Bones
Oh, it's. They blew it out. They blew out. UCLA did. And it was only, like, the main parts in the middle.
Mike
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I thought.
Mike
I thought. I was like, why wasn't there anybody there?
Kevin
Yeah. I mean, the only time you watch the Rose bowl is during the Rose bowl. But they play there every home game.
Eddie
That's tough.
Bobby Bones
Does that stadium hold 100,000?
Kevin
Yeah. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
You can tell. Yeah. It's huge. And in LA, nobody cares about anything enough for there to be 100,000 consistently.
Kevin
No.
Bobby Bones
Just because there's so much. Yep. Vandy. Hey, listen. They played pretty good. They lost. Yeah, they played pretty good. They Went down to Alabama, and it was for sure a game.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
They were running that shovel pass option to perfection. It was awesome.
Kevin
Oh, yeah. I like how the. The announcers talked about, like, last year they ran it this way, and then this year they did this, but then had this little pivot on it.
Jason Campbell
It was awesome.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I wrote that.
Kevin
Diego, he just tried to see Johnny Menzel getting into it with the spin.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Eddie
And then go up to Diego and give him a little hug.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Okay, those are. I have one other note where Eddie thinks he might be a food influencer now. Oh, did somebody repost your video or something?
Eddie
Huge, dude. This is a huge, huge moment in the influencing world. I posted my popcorn video.
Bobby Bones
Influencing world.
Eddie
Huge, man. And I got reposted by Blackstone. The people that I. The owners of the griddle, the people that make the griddle, they reposted my post.
Bobby Bones
Well, yeah, that's huge. Did they pay you or send you anything?
Eddie
Nah, nah. But, I mean, all their followers are like, hey, look at this Eddie guy.
Bobby Bones
Cooking popcorn on the griddle.
Mike
I assume it's like you're the second coming of Guy Fieri.
Eddie
Second coming. Some may say.
Bobby Bones
Did you tag them?
Eddie
Yeah, I tagged them in all my videos.
Bobby Bones
I think that's brilliant. I think you should follow up on that, though, with them. Be like, hey, I saw you shared my video. Do you want to collab on some stuff?
Eddie
Ooh, send them a dm. Yeah, today.
Kevin
Can I. I know it's. It's your influencer world, but can I just offer one.
Bobby Bones
Oh, dang advice.
Kevin
Can I? Because I follow. You know, I get. I get recipe accounts from other guys that I follow for, like, meal prep and all that stuff. And the. Only. Because you made. What was after the popcorn?
Eddie
My acai bowl.
Kevin
Yes. That looked delicious.
Eddie
Thank you.
Kevin
But what about needing, like. Like the. The amount that you're putting in of peanut butter or of whatever it is? You know what I mean?
Eddie
So the video of the amount that I put in is not enough?
Kevin
No, you got to put in the description. Because. Because when I make. When I do the meal prep.
Bobby Bones
Just write it down.
Ad Read Voice
No, it's not.
Bobby Bones
Write it down in the bottom.
Kevin
Yeah, write it down on the bottom. Tell me the description I make. Oh, you got to do two cups of this, three cups of this, a tablespoon of this. Because you just say a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and, like, a little bit of this. A little. I'm just saying. I think it would help.
Bobby Bones
This is like, he's just giving you Some tips.
Kevin
Me giving tips.
Eddie
I don't even want to take these tips from the drink station guys. See, the reason I don't do write it out is because they'll keep watching it to get the ingredient.
Bobby Bones
No, that's.
Eddie
Oh, dude, I've seen my wife do it.
Bobby Bones
I'm going to tell you, though, for the most part, people take in social media, they don't keep watching. But if you don't tell them everything they want to know quickly, they don't even stay.
Eddie
No, no, no. What I'm saying is, say you want to make the acai bowl, right? If it was written out, you just screenshot it and boom, that's my re. That's my recipe.
Bobby Bones
That's not true.
Eddie
Or then you can just watch and be like, okay, he put a scoop of the. A little bit. Ooh, let me rewind that. Watch it again. One more view.
Bobby Bones
That ain't happening. Rewind the views. It doesn't. It's not people that consume social media. I think he's got a point right down at the bottom.
Kevin
But you get. People would save it. Like I saved some, you know, that save tab or whatever. And then so you can. So you'll go back and watch it again and also read how much of whatever you're putting it in.
Bobby Bones
And they promote things that have been saved and shared more than they do comments anymore these days. I think you can learn something from him.
Eddie
Drink station guy over here. I don't know.
Kevin
I'm just saying. Hey, I'm trying to help you out, okay? I'm not criticizing you.
Eddie
You know what? I should accept that. You're right.
Kevin
You're right.
Eddie
I should be like, hey, thanks for helping me, man.
Kevin
I don't take shots at you like you do to me all the time, just randomly. I'. I'm just giving you some suggestions.
Eddie
Thank you, Kevin.
Bobby Bones
I think you both can learn from.
Eddie
Each other, from one influencer to another.
Mike
What if you guys collabed on something?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Oh, like can I make you a drink that you can use at the drink station?
Kevin
Yes.
Bobby Bones
You know what?
Kevin
I.
Bobby Bones
About your video. Yeah. You didn't have pedo voice. I'm working, I'm working. I know.
Kevin
I turned the volume all the way up.
Bobby Bones
The first thing when I see it, dude, I cringe whenever you make a new one because I'm like, I can't take pedal voice. And I turned and you did your thing and I was like, oh, no. Pedal voice. Awesome.
Eddie
You're talking about when you first see a post. Oh, Eddie posted a video like, oh, do I really want to watch this and see, I know where the pedo voice came from. Where? In my. In my office where I voice. Sometimes I don't want to do it too loud because people are still sleeping or something.
Bobby Bones
Do it for us.
Eddie
So, like, okay, so say I'm making the acai bowl. Like, here's my acai.
Kevin
Oh, no, no.
Bobby Bones
But now.
Eddie
But now I'm like, hey, I got an ac. And now it's, like, more exciting. Not so much pedophile.
Bobby Bones
Like, how you talk right now. Perfect.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah. No, I'm getting more comfortable with it. I am, I am. But now I guess I gotta write up.
Bobby Bones
Kids, you ever wanted an acai bowl in a van?
Eddie
Don't eat your ethereal.
Bobby Bones
Get it. Get in my white van for the acai bowl. I have ingredients.
Eddie
Thanks for the support.
Bobby Bones
No, I. I'm giving you support. There was no pedo voice.
Eddie
I'm saying thank you.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Can you take a tip?
Eddie
I just took it.
Bobby Bones
I'm gonna give you another one.
Eddie
Oh, gosh.
Bobby Bones
No, I'm just kidding. The tip was keep doing non pedo voice. If you gotta wait five minutes for everybody to wake up, do it louder.
Eddie
Do that. No, no. I'm DM the company today.
Kevin
Yeah, nice.
Bobby Bones
Like, hey, I saw. I love working with you. Do you guys want to collab on something? And all that means is, do they want to send you free stuff?
Kevin
Oh, yeah, that'd be cool.
Bobby Bones
And then eventually you can work, you know, do money.
Eddie
So if they say. If they say, like, yeah. What do you have in mind then?
Bobby Bones
Have something in mind. Present something. Say, what's your next thing?
Eddie
Oh, I'm gonna do a drink next.
Kevin
Oh, there we go.
Bobby Bones
On the griddle.
Eddie
No.
Bobby Bones
Okay. No, there you. No, no, for them. No, you need to have something for them.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was thinking about doing salmon on the griddle.
Bobby Bones
I was great. I was thinking about doing salmon on the griddle. Here's what I don't have. If you guys will provide me with this, another griddle. And I could have. I could use a second griddle for shooting. If you guys could provide one of those, I'd be happy to tag you.
Kevin
I love that.
Eddie
That's good stuff.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Then sell it on Craigslist or whatever. Facebook, marketplace.
Eddie
I look like a big drummer with a bunch of griddles around me.
Bobby Bones
There you go.
Mike
That's actually really funny.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you're good. You have to sell it. You just have it now.
Eddie
That's a good tip. Thank you, man.
Bobby Bones
And then as You're. No, yours was good, too, Kevin.
Kevin
Yeah, thanks, guys.
Bobby Bones
Yours was good, too.
Mike
Thanks. Just chop liver over here.
Eddie
I like that one.
Bobby Bones
We got Tex Tech helmet.
Kevin
Sweet.
Bobby Bones
There it is.
Kevin
I watched them play for the first time this weekend.
Bobby Bones
They're good.
Kevin
They're so good.
Bobby Bones
Watch them play. Houston. Houston was undefeated. Yeah, I bet them and took and gave up points and they still covered. I think it was like 13 and a half or something.
Kevin
I know. It's 11 and a half at one point.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Their colors were cool, too, this week. They look like the Oilers.
Kevin
Yeah. Houston.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Mike
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
I noticed that there are a lot.
Ad Read Voice
Of cool uniforms this week.
Bobby Bones
I didn't notice that. And I watched that first half of the game because I bet it. But I didn't know.
Eddie
You didn't think you were watching the Oilers for a second?
Bobby Bones
I didn't.
Mike
I'm trying to, but he's also colorblind.
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's true.
Eddie
That's true.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Yeah. It's like. It's a baby blue with a little bit of red.
Kevin
Yeah. Almost like an Ole Miss.
Bobby Bones
I hear you guys. I know. I just don't remember.
Eddie
We're explaining what colors.
Bobby Bones
I just don't remember. I got Texas Tech workout gear. You guys can grab whatever's in there.
Kevin
Whatever fits down.
Bobby Bones
Because they sent us a bunch work out in that. Dude.
Mike
What about the Seahawks? Bucks uniforms?
Bobby Bones
Throwback.
Eddie
Throwbacks. What I told my kids is like, right there. That's exactly what they look like when I was your age.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, they're all like, no craps.
Eddie
They're all like, whoa, like black and white days. No, I'm not that old.
Bobby Bones
I did see Sean Alexander because they were doing like 25 years or whatever it was since something. John Alexander was there in his black jacket because they were all. And Mike also was there.
Kevin
Oh, okay.
Bobby Bones
Very cool. Yeah. And they both look great.
Kevin
Oh, I thought you're gonna say something about 17 kids.
Bobby Bones
No, not that. But he looks good.
Kevin
Yeah, he looks young. Or Sean.
Bobby Bones
Sean looks great. Also looks strong still. Yeah. Yeah. But John Ogden doesn't look any older.
Eddie
How do they do that?
Bobby Bones
You know how. Go on and say, ah, they stay fit. No, you know how.
Mike
You know.
Eddie
Oh, I got you.
Kevin
I got you.
Eddie
I got you. I know what you're saying.
Mike
I wish Reed was here.
Eddie
Yeah, he would definitely do. You mean no rain.
Kevin
Don't.
Eddie
He turns.
Bobby Bones
Okay, I'm gonna play this. And then we're gonna get to Jason Campbell. I had Brian Bosworth on the Bobby cast. And so legendary football player in the 80s for Oklahoma. He's the only person to ever win the Butkus Award twice. He won a national championship with the Sooners. He was his own brand before nil and college brands ever existed. A lot of people, which I'm finding, did not know he was the sheriff in the Dr. Pepper Fansville commercials. Yeah, I get more people going, what? I didn't know that. Did you know that?
Eddie
Yeah, of course I knew that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I knew that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Back to it. Then I asked him if he knew just how famous he was when he was at Oklahoma. So we talk about that. And then his haircut at the time and the reason behind it.
Brian Bosworth
It got to the point where I felt kind of famous. Yeah. Because every school that we would go to on the road, all of their players, even. Even when we got to, you know, when we played in the Orange Bowl, I remember Washington's players, we. They'd get us together on these little, you know, Orange bowl, like, trips and stuff, and we were on some cruise and. And I think that's when it first hit me. All of the players from. From Washington were going, hey, man. Hey, boss man. I'm gonna get a picture with you. You know, and they gave us those little Kodak cameras and stuff. I guess it's like the little freebie stuff that they would give you in the swag bag. And I'm thinking, is this weird? Why am I taking pictures with the opposing team? I don't know how my teammates are going to feel about that. But the team. My teammates were also.
Bobby Bones
They.
Brian Bosworth
They kind of enjoyed the ride, too, because, you know, I would just say because I felt like we were good enough, we could back it up, you know, and. And it was just all organic. I wasn't doing it to, like, you know, you know, market myself. I was just, you know, living my best life in. In the best, you know, school possible. And everything was working. All the stars were aligning. So I was along for the roller coaster ride, but I was bringing everybody along with me, and we were all having such a blast. And then it just kind of. Everywhere we went, you know, we'd, you know, at the end of the game, the cheerleaders would come over, hey, we want to get a picture. And I'm going, you know, I don't sing, I don't dance. I just play football. We're really good. I'm not as good without these guys. But it just seemed like all the notoriety was. Was. Was coming down on me. I mean, I helped a little bit because I, you Know, I cut my hair weird. You know, I didn't think it was weird. I just cut it because my old man wouldn't let me cut it in high school. And I was just like, well, he's not, he's not, you know, here now, so I can do whatever I want to.
Bobby Bones
So that wasn't like a big statement when you cut your hair the first time, like, to the world.
Brian Bosworth
No, I mean, it was more of a. To my dad, because my dad was like, you know, you're not cutting your hair. I pay $7 to get that bowl cut. And that's, that's the cut you're getting. I said, but, dad, everybody in this, you know, in high school, ball, ball, they all go get their hair buzzed and, well, you're not doing that. You're going to get your, your bowl cut and that's what you're getting. So, I mean, my dad was one of those, you live by his rules or you don't live. And I appreciated that. I mean, I, I would rather have a dad that was that way than a dad who was trying to be my friend. Because I see the consequences of parents trying to be their, their kids friends instead of their parents. And they're not supposed to be their friends. They're supposed to be their. To make them hate life so they can get the hell out of the house and grind their own foundation and build their own house with the tools of hard love, tough love, you know, And I thank God for, For that kind of relationship. I mean, I wish he was a little more warm. Warm and fuzzy and, and happy, but I know that that was what he was capable of. He gave me as much as he had. And, you know, it, It. You know, it was what it was. I wish it was more, but I appreciate what I did get from him. But, you know, it. All of the stuff that really happened really was. It just really happened organically. I remember when we were going to the Orange bowl that first year, I went and got the haircut. I want to say I got that haircut about halfway through the season. It was after. I know it was after the Texas game because I've seen pictures of, with me with just long, scraggly hair. So sometime during, during that season, and I remember going to their Orange Bowl, I asked the girl said, I used to be a towhead. I'd love to be a towhead again. Can you do that? And she goes, yeah, just sit down. And we were leaving that day to go on the bus to the plane to get to, you know, to go to, to Miami. And I was already packed. So I had made the appointment so I had, I could get trimmed up nice and clean and then get on the bus and then go and back in those days if you missed a bus, you're paying your own way. I mean they might be upset with you, but to get down there you got to pay your own way. And I'm sure you'd have to get up and do some stadium stairs at 5:30 in the morning. But I remember sitting in the chair and I'm looking at my watch and I'm going, holy, I'm gonna miss the bus. You got to get this stuff off, man. I gotta go. So she washed it off. I didn't even look at it. And I, I got to the bus, walked on the bus and the guys just started donkey laughing. I mean I'm just. What, what's, what's the matter? Your hair as. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
What do you.
Brian Bosworth
What's wrong with it? It's orange. It's orange and looked in the, like the reflection, I can't see it. Is it orange? Really? She's.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Brian Bosworth
Well, we're going the orange bowl. That's why. That's right. I'm going to the orange Bowl. I'm just trying to get everybody fired up. How do we feel?
Bobby Bones
Know?
Brian Bosworth
So it was like everything happened, you know, accidentally, you know, with a slight bit of on purpose. I corrected it later after I got back but you know, it was like, you know, everything that I did was like, how outrageous. Can I push this? How much further does. Is there really a line in the sand or is it just kind of an imaginary. Just keep pushing it, keep pushing and keep pushing it. And I think that was, I was always like that.

You just pick more or less on two or more player stats. So there's no gimmick, no crazy rules, just your player reads and your shot big returns. Okay, now over to Jason Campbell. He was the 2004 SEC Offensive Player of the Year. He was drafted 25th overall by the Redskins. Now commanders. He went on to play 10 years in the NFL playing for the Raiders, the Bears, the Browns, the Bengals as well as the Redskins. Jason is an SEC analyst now and you can check out his podcast SEC State of Mind wherever you get your podcasts. Jason Campbell. Follow him on Instagram Campbell17. Here he is, Jason Campbell. Jason, appreciate you coming on man.
Jason Campbell
I appreciate it. Thank you for having me on.
Bobby Bones
Hey, so I saw you tweet that the SEC is wide open. Yeah, I don't even know where to start. Except for Texas probably sucks. Like, let's start there. Texas kind of sucks, right?
Jason Campbell
Man, I tell you what, I knew that was going to be a tough game for Texas. When you think about how they went to Ohio State and you know, that first game they weren't able to score many points again. Matt Patricia's defense, who kind of, kind of laid a blueprint for a lot of SEC schools as far as like doing the zone blitzes and how to hide blitzes that you see in the NFL. He's kind of brought to college a little bit, but I knew Florida played great defense all year. They've kept him in every game they've struggled offensively and I just kind of figured that once they got a bye week and opportunity to work on their, on their passing game and fit some things there, that they could be a good football team and it would be a dangerous team for Florida. I mean for Texas to go in there and play.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. With Texas next week and they do have to play Oklahoma. Were we unfair on the expectations onto Arch Manning? Yeah.
Jason Campbell
On my first show of podcast I did with Taylor Davis, I told everybody, I said, you know, you have to pump the brakes and awarding kids you know, trophies before they actually play. And will he be an extreme talent in the future? He probably will, but as of today, I was just like, you can't put that much pressure on a kid that haven't started in college yet. And his first two games that he played in in college was against, you know, lesser opponents. And he came in and sparing time, so it wasn't like he was full time starter and having to play this schedule, you know, once you become the target now, everyone shoots for you. And unfortunately for him, he was a target before his career even started at Texas. So I just think, you know, you carry a lot of pressure on his shoulders. You know, you feel like he has to live up to, you know, his uncles and everybody, because that's what everyone is, expects, what everyone expects. And I don't think it was fair for him to have to deal with all of that, you know, noise in the beginning as far as, you know, everyone saying he's the top Heisman candidate, he's the first pick in the draft next year and all these different things. It's almost like the media was kind of building him up, you know, just waiting for him to mess up so they have opportunity to, you know, to have bigger stories.
Bobby Bones
Oklahoma's undefeated. They'll play Texas next week, but they don't have John Mateer playing. I mean, he was a Heisman favorite until he had to go in for hand surgery. Hawkins looked pretty good last week. But how do you see this game happening?
Jason Campbell
Oh, Red river rivalry. It's always a tough game, right? If John materials in that game. I lean towards Oklahoma heavily. Not, you know, I say heavily in rival games. Seven points is heavy, but, you know, because of what he brings to the table. And I saw him play against Auburn defense and I figured our defense, one of the better ones, you know, in college football, you know, he made the plays that he had to make when they was there. And to me, that's the true testament of a quarterback. When they had to go down and win the game, he took them down to drive. He stood in the pocket, you know, took some hits to the chest, and he was still delivering balls accurately when he had to. And I thought we put a lot of pressure on him from a defensive standpoint to get him off his mark. And he just kept chopping wood and kept chopping and eventually they ended up beating us at the end. But, you know, Oklahoma's going to lean heavy on their defense. You know, Mason Jr. Is a beast. He's probably the best pass rusher or One of the top three pass rushers in college football. Now, he has speed, he has size, he can come off the ball with power. And so I know Tess is going to have to try to chip block him with the running back as well. But I think in this game, again, Arch is about to go against another top defense. And the difference between Florida and Oklahoma. Oklahoma has young corners. You know, they had a true freshman that they're starting that they had on Cam Colburn. I thought we was able to take advantage of that. I think Sharp will try to do the same thing this week against Oklahoma.
Bobby Bones
Speaking of your school, Auburn, Jackson Arnold feels like he's like 25 years old because, you know, he's a five star kid. He's a freshman last year at Oklahoma, but it feels like he's lived a long life. How do you see his development so far this year?
Jason Campbell
I think for Jackson is the biggest thing when you play for defensive coordinators, right? And I think when he was at Oklahoma, it's all about, you know, I don't want to turn the ball over because we have this great defense and we don't want to get off the opposing team something easy. I think the hardest thing for him right now is, you know, just cutting it loose. You know, he doesn't want to make the mistakes, he doesn't want to throw an interception. And I think sometimes you may need to throw one, you know, just to kind of feel, you know, get, get, get it off your back a little bit and just, you know, being able to take chances sometimes because, you know, he's a dual threat quarterback, he can run, he can throw. And I think the thing right now is just trying to figure out an offensive line up front. I think that's where everything starts at, is getting better pass protection. And I think for him is just trust what you see and when you see it, just let it go. You know, in this league, guys are not going to be wide, wide open. Often if a guy's two to three yards in front of someone that's open, you know, and just trust your arm and trust what you see and just let it go. So I think to get him to the next level, he has to start trusting his eyes a little bit more and just, and just let the ball go.
Bobby Bones
Who do you think's the best team in the SEC right now?
Jason Campbell
Ooh, man.
Kevin
Oof.
Jason Campbell
That's a tough one because every week it's like, you know, at one point everyone's saying the LSU looked good. I think beat Clemson. Then once you saw a Couple of weeks of Clemson, you like. Okay. And that LSU offense is sputtered. And then, you know, Tess's offense, you know, everyone was waiting to see who they play after they played Ohio State because, you know, they beat some, some other teams, but it wasn't the same S size value as SEC or Big Ten. And now they lost two of those big games. You know, Alabama is trending in the right direction. I thought Vanderbilt could have won that game this weekend. They don't turn the ball over twice in the red zone. I hate to say it. I guess right now it has to be Alabama.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. To look at the AP that came out Ole Miss, Texas A and M, Alabama, Georgia, you got all these teams up. And the great thing about the SEC is also the worst thing about the sec. It'll all shake itself out, but, man, they're just eating each other up every week.
Jason Campbell
Yeah, it's the NFL in college. Yeah, that's the, that's why I tell everybody next year we go to nine SEC games. So on any given Saturday, anybody can be beat. You saw Mississippi State, you know, could have beat Tennessee two weeks ago. They gave up two touchdowns to the defense for Tennessee's defense. So they spared him 14 points and still went in overtime. You think about, you know, A and M, they look really good defensively, but offensively they struggled a lot. I know they kind of pulled away from Mississippi State a little bit in third quarter this week, but overall they're still struggling a little bit offensively, except for the Notre Dame game. When I think about Ole Miss, Ole Miss, to me is the. That's the, that's the team you got to keep your eye on. Coming into this year, everyone knew they had to replace a lot of defensive players, had to replace Jackson, Dart some of the receivers, and, man, they found something. This kid is shameless. You know, this kid come from a, you know, basically D2 level and D1 double A. He's, he's shining right now like he's throwing over 300 yards. He's rushing the ball. You know, Austin Simmons was a good talent as well, but, you know, Austin, you know, had a couple turnovers, but this kid protects the football and he. And he's leading his team pretty good and team believe in him. And defensive, I think Pete and Goldberg got these guys, Pete golden got these guys playing, you know, higher level than what they expected. So. So to me, their schedule gets a little hard, so we're going to find a little bit more at the Ole Miss as we get rolling here. But to beat lsu, I thought in their backyard was a big, big win.
Bobby Bones
For them when you were playing. And I want to take Tuscaloosa out because that was a rivalry game. But when you were playing at Auburn, what was the craziest, loudest stadium you played in?
Jason Campbell
Oh, as you know, LSU at nighttime, anytime you went to Baton Rouge at nighttime, you gave everybody all day to get and get hammered. So by the time the game started, they had this big tiger that would sit beside your, like your locker room. You come out and you're like, man, you know, trying to intimidate. You know, as long as things stay in the cage, we good. But. But I tell you, man, it's. It was loud. But I tell you what, Auburn at night time, and we play Georgia this week at night. I'm not being biased, but Auburn's probably one of the loudest places I've heard it or seen it at night time in a home stadium outside of, outside of Baton Rouge.
Bobby Bones
You don't think there's a little bit of bias there?
Jason Campbell
I'm just saying, you know, it gets rocking, man. I'm talking about it gets rocking. They'll swag, surf, come on. And at the end in the fourth quarter, you know, people get intense and you know, especially if it's a big game like Georgia, Obama, lsu, you know, all these big teams, like, it gets really, really loud. I would say this. I played in Florida at nighttime, the Swamp gets loud. I really like the Swamp. Texas A and M, they like to sway back and forth. But I haven't been there at a night game. Both times Auburn played has been daytime that I've been calling games. But Tennessee is loud. I played in Tennessee in 04 and they had 110,000. And you know, when they get to singing Rocky top. So SEC has a lot of premier stadiums that even in the NFL they can't even compare to because just the loudness and high intense they get. It is fun to play in.
Bobby Bones
You mentioned 04. I think of 04. I think about how you guys got screwed. You know, you undefeated, you don't get to play for a national title. Does that still bother you?
Jason Campbell
Yeah, it always will probably. You know, just the fact that you realize how hard it is to play in this league and I think we kind of set the run after us. I think the SEC went on like a 7, 8 game winning streak in the national championship run. So bothers you a little bit. But I always tell people, man, no one can take away the undefeated season. No one can take take away what you accomplish and all the different things that, you know, we was able to do that year, I think started a conversation about the playoff system, right? When you think about as a whole these guys having a chance to now go out there and compete and now you get into the dance where before you have to let a computer system decide, you know, who gets to play the dance.
Bobby Bones
Do you have a favorite drive? When someone asks you that question from back in Auburn, like a drive maybe late in the game that you're like, man, that was the one.
Jason Campbell
Oh yeah. I can always go back to the LSU game that year. Like we're down nine to three and it's like we went for it on the one yard line one time and we didn't get it. So we only had three points on the board at that time. It was a, you know, jugging out just defensive battle, like I think over 30 some players, when people went back and looked at it on both of those teams together played in National Football League. And it was one of the hardest hitting games I ever played in. And you know, five minutes to go in a game and you know, Nick Saban was the head coach much champs, the defensive coordinator at that time and you know, he was defending national champs. And we got to go down to go down and we know this may be our only shot. And we go on a long drive and I remember getting 4th and 12. Coach, Coach Borges, who's our offense coordinator, said, hey, we're going to do a rollout to the right because we got to get you away from the blitz because we know saving the Mustang, we're going to go cover zero. And so true enough, they went zero, brought everyone and we knew there's one guy we couldn't block that was the furthest defender, which was the corner on the blitz. And we went up sprint to the right. I just remember, you know, two guys about the about to hammer me. And I knew court and Taylor was one on one outside. I just remember just kind of letting the ball go a little bit and putting a little air on it so he can see it when he come out of it because I knew I was gonna have time to wait for him. And I just remember getting hammered and the next thing I know I heard the crowd getting loud and going crazy and I was just like, I couldn't see if he caught it yet. So I got up and I saw the Jumbotron and everything that he had called it. And we got the first down and then got the third and 12, which basically was third and go. I Think we lost yours in the first place. And we run, you know, a double stick knob play with two inside receivers. We knew we were going to get some type of too high quarters. Look, and true enough, Courtney Taylor again ran a double move, was able to find him in the back of the end zone, and the crowd just went crazy. Probably the loudest I've heard in Auburn. I wasn't there in 13 when they won the the kick six. I was asking the pros at that time, but the loudest I've heard in there was that game. And it was going crazy.
Bobby Bones
Was there ever a time that you were so prepared that when the defense got into whatever, whatever they were giving you, whatever shell, whatever that you were like, oh, I know exactly what we're doing. Like, it was all. It felt like it was so easy that night.
Jason Campbell
Oh, yeah. First half of Tennessee 2004, I think we was 31 and three at halftime. You know, we go to Rocky Top and you know, cameras everywhere, the river is all lit up. I know the sea of tangerine orange is everywhere. And, you know, here comes old Auburn. And I remember that week, it was a top 10 matchup and everyone kept talking about Tennessee, Tennessee, Tennessee. And we just like, hold on. Now we got a veteran football team and no one's, you know, has given us a lot of credit. College game day was there, there, and I know Charles Barkley, I saw him on the set earlier that day and you know how he was talking about, you know, how he felt all, we're gonna come in there and win this game and the reasons why. And that's the game we started locking arms if everyone kind of go back and, and, you know, we called ourselves Horror Fighting Soldiers back in the day. You know, that was the book that our team chaplain came up with our name and he based it off, you know, the story of the, the 300. And so we ended up locking arms and we came out that night and said, look, it's us against everybody in here. And, you know, it's 110,000 people in the stands and it's, you know, there's only 11 can play on defense, offense and special team. So everyone focus on, you know, your job, but, you know, we're going to come out of here victorious tonight. Man, we came out that night, man, like laying a hammer. You know, Ronnie Brown was running the ball hard, Cadillac running the ball hard. And passing game was on point. You know, at halftime, we look up with 31 and three in the second half. We just kind of nailed back a little bit because at that point in time, it just controlled the game and get out of there. But, you know, that was one of those games in the SEC championship. We had to play them again. And it's hard to beat a team twice in the sec. And here we go playing Tennessee again. And what got it all started, Bones, when, you know, one of their defensive linebackers said that was a fluke, what happened that night in Tennessee. So, you know, we made sure that we beat them twice so that they can remember that it wasn't a fluke.
Bobby Bones
How satisfying is it to be in another stadium? You're the away team and you shut the crowd up.
Jason Campbell
Oh, man. Especially there, right? You hear Rocky Top every. Every two minutes. Like, yeah, I love Tennessee atmosphere, but you hear Rocky Top like every two minutes. And pre game is all you heard. Time the gang, you restart is all you heard. Kick off all you heard. And it's a great atmosphere. It's one of the fun atmosphere to play in college football. But at halftime when everyone's quiet and, you know, and then at the end of the third quarter, you start seeing the people you know twink out the stadium, that means you must have done your job. And it doesn't get any better than that. When you go into opposing stadium at the end of the third quarter, you start seeing their fan base leave.
Bobby Bones
Let me ask you one NFL question. Do you remember your first NFL touchdown? Who was it to Chris Cooley?
Jason Campbell
I think it was Tampa Bay game. We played Tampa in 2006. No, it was Carolina Panthers in 2006. Cooley. I think it was like a 67 yard, 70 yard touchdown. I remember I had to start in the middle of the season, you know, like, so Brunello at that point in time was the starter. And then all of a sudden they said, hey, well, we're gonna throw you out there against Derek Brooks and Arande Barber and, you know, and Tampa Bay defense for your first NFL start. Yeah. Okay. You know, that's when Tampa's defense was really, really good and everything and. But it was exciting time. You know, pro football is changing. You see a lot of college now in pro football and the type of offenses they're running. The game has changed dramatically so much. Like, as far as how you can hit someone, how you couldn't hit no one back in the day. People hit you as a quarterback and they would bear down on you and like, try to bury you in the ground and everything. They try to knock the crap out of you. Where now if you come even close to the head or you know, you half a second late on the hit, you know, it's a, it's a pin.
Bobby Bones
Your podcast, the SEC State of Mind podcast, how many times a week do you guys do that?
Jason Campbell
We do it once a week. We try to cover all things sec non biased. Like I said, we get on there, we talk about a lot of things. What's going on around the league. It seemed like my landscaping people decided they want to come by the window while I'm on the.
Bobby Bones
I didn't know if that was me or you, I'll be honest, because it happens at my house all the time too.
Jason Campbell
Like, geez, you know, like it's raining outside and they decided to show up at, at this time. But yeah, I would say we do it once a week and it's a great show. Taylor Davis does an outstanding job. And then, you know, we, we cover all things and it's really fun. You know, everyone should tune in, man, because we're not just Auburn Bias. We cover all things in sec.
Bobby Bones

By the way, we did miss our parlay. I'm sorry about that, but there was a point where I was just rooting for Penn State to lose. I flipped on the parlay.
Mike
It's understandable.
Bobby Bones
That's.
Kevin
Yeah, I get it.
Bobby Bones
I didn't affect it, but I flipped on it.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Texas Tech, we hit that one. Georgia, we hit that one. Penn State, I would, I'm happy that that happened like that. What sucks is if you miss it and then they eke out a win but you miss the COVID Right? Like we're going to miss it. I just wanted them to lose.
Kevin
Yeah. When they started coming back, I was like, no.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I just.
Kevin
You're going to lose. You're going.
Bobby Bones
I just like drama. Okay. So I pulled up my stats on my draftkings and for the month I am up $612.
Mike
All right.
Bobby Bones
No, I mean that's fine. That's not the point. That's pretty.
Eddie
It's better than mine.
Bobby Bones
Brandon sent me these screenshots. Brandon hit a 12 pick parlay. 12 for $4 and you won $217.
Kevin
What?
Eddie
Well, thank you, Drake May, you're starting to piss me off, man.
Kevin
Talking about.
Bobby Bones
Would you mind if I look at your stats?
Mike
Oh, please, just don't tell my wife. No, I'm just kidding.
Bobby Bones
It's all good. Now I just want to see because.
Mike
Yeah, I look at your stats.
Bobby Bones
I'll show you. Come on. Over.
Mike
I had some bonus bets from the Kyron Williams thing, the 250 that I use a lot of. But I could be losing more than I'm making, so we'll see. But that's why I said it's time for an intervention.
Eddie
That's what we're thinking because Brandon hit.
Bobby Bones
Like a four touchdowner. He had a four pick 10 for 100 bucks, but he hit a 12. Okay, I'll show you how to do this.
Kevin
Dude, I win, like 30 bucks. I'm pumped.
Eddie
But we're not betting the way they are.
Bobby Bones
So if you go to, like, your.
Kevin
Profile, what do you say?
Bobby Bones
$2 go to my statue feet?
Eddie
12 legs, dude.
Bobby Bones
And then it's going to bring up. So this month, that's what you are. Oh, okay. So here's Brandon's total.
Eddie
Come on. Oh, pretty good.
Bobby Bones
Well, hold on.
Eddie
Keep the phone because I have a question. I have some other questions.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Which one?
Eddie
Did not do that one first?
Bobby Bones
So this month, Brandon is. $73. Oh, through six days last month, he was up $89. He's actually in the black. He has a net gain of $15, having used it all for two months.
Eddie
Oh, okay, so he started two months ago, huh? I mean, it's pretty good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. If you're in the winnings at all.
Kevin
Yeah, yeah. If you break even, that's.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
How many.
Bobby Bones
Here's my question for entertainment.
Eddie
How many bets has he placed?
Mike
Well, I'm scared to know.
Kevin
Wait, didn't you just win, like a thousand bucks?
Eddie
Right?
Ad Read Voice
He had a huge one.
Eddie
2,000. He says, like. Oh, I told my wife.
Mike
2,000.
Eddie
Yeah, you had a big one. Like, huge.
Mike
It was a thousand.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Yeah. Wow. That means you're way down.
Mike
Oh, no, not really.
Bobby Bones
I mean, well, if you're.
Eddie
Did you cash out the thousand?
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Kevin
Okay.
Bobby Bones
No, no, no. But it's. If it's in your account, it still counts positive. You don't have to get it out of your account to be a winner.
Kevin
That's true.
Mike
Okay, okay, okay.
Bobby Bones
So let's see. What do. What do you want to know?
Eddie
How many bets has he placed in two months?
Bobby Bones
Okay, settled. Do you want to hear all this? 3, 4, 5.
Eddie
Oh, you have to count them. It doesn't tell you.
Kevin
8.
Eddie
Oh, boy.
Bobby Bones
Oh, wow. 10, 11, 12, 13, 14.
Mike
Tennessee gambling problem.
Bobby Bones
20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, 32.
Mike
Oh, there's a meeting today.
Bobby Bones
41, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Mike
Does anybody want to be my sponsor?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a Lot.
Eddie
So you're getting to 50.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. It's. It's easily in the hundred. Okay.
Kevin
All right.
Bobby Bones
It's still scrolling. It's still scrolling.
Mike
Do you guys have, like, any advice? I feel like every week that I.
Bobby Bones
Do it, I'm like, you're winning. You are up, dude.
Jason Campbell
You do you.
Mike
I would say, like, in the first month, I'm like, oh, I'm not going to do that anymore. That's. That's not good. Don't do that anymore.
Bobby Bones
I have advice for you.
Mike
Okay.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Since we just do it for entertainment, for fun, don't do anything more than you have for entertainment, for fun.
Kevin
Okay.
Eddie
You're having fun.
Bobby Bones
You're doing all right.
Eddie
Keep doing you.
Bobby Bones
Keep doing you. But you're. Again, you're winning.
Mike
Okay, I'm going to cancel this meeting.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy that you're. For now, it's hard to win. It's hard to win consistently. It's fun, and you just have to play with what's fun.
Kevin
But it's like golf. Like, if you're winning, just enjoy it.
Bobby Bones
Yep. Take it in, buddy.
Kevin
Because next weekend is going to be completely opposite, but it's also true.
Eddie
Like, when you hit one in the water, don't get too mad about it. You're just doing it for fun.
Bobby Bones
Unless your friend yells water.
Eddie
I started betting soccer. That's kind of fun.
Kevin
Okay, don't do that, Brandon.
Bobby Bones
Have you guys heard that Eddie's a psychic thing?
Kevin
No.
Bobby Bones
He thinks he's a psychic now.
Eddie
I haven't told anyone. I only told you.
Bobby Bones
Go ahead.
Eddie
Because you're. I'm going to start by saying you're not going to believe me and. But there's no reason for me to even make this up. The reason I asked when the Mark Sanchez thing was, and it was Friday night, is because on Saturday morning, I woke up and had Mark Sanchez in my head. I do. I don't know why, but I just pictured his face. I'm like, Mark Sanchez. I remember being in the shower, being.
Kevin
Like, Mark Sanchez in the shower.
Eddie
Butt fumble.
Kevin
Yeah, just kind of Sanchez in the butt in the shower is what you're thinking of.
Eddie
No, I just. I was just in the shower.
Mike
Wrong with that.
Eddie
And I'm just thinking, yeah, I. Did we see him at a Cowboys game?
Kevin
No. No.
Bobby Bones
Maybe you saw it and you didn't realize I heard it.
Kevin
Yeah, you must have, like, subconsciously just, like, saw it on social media.
Eddie
There's no way, guys. I don't sleep. Scroll. Like, yeah.
Kevin
When you wake up.
Bobby Bones
No speaking of Mark Sanchez. Mark Sanchez face felony charge. Just came across. Indiana prosecutors had felony battery charge against Sanchez. Also Eddie psychic and predicted it.
Eddie
It's in the article Indy Star.
Bobby Bones
So you thought you just woke up and started and felt Mark Sanchez came to you?
Eddie
I don't think he did just come to me. And then later in the day, I start seeing the news of Mark Sanchez. Like, this is cr. I was like, this is crazy. This is crazy. I thought about him randomly this morning, and now all this news is coming out. Why would I randomly think of Mark Sanchez?
Bobby Bones
The jets are playing the Cowboys on Sunday.
Kevin
Oh, now that's possible. Good point.
Eddie
That's weird, that.
Kevin
Mark, were you eating a hot dog at any point?
Bobby Bones
Point.
Eddie
No. No hot dog.
Kevin
What's.
Bobby Bones
What's a hot dog?
Kevin
I have to do that, right? We ate a hot dog on the sideline Or Sanchez.
Eddie
Wasn't it a bir.
Kevin
Oh, no, it was a hot dog.
Bobby Bones
Dude, don't be racist.
Eddie
Hey, how can I be racist?
Bobby Bones
Don't be racist. Because his name's Sanchez doesn't mean you can go with burrito, dude. All right, we're done.
Eddie
Isn't that crazy, though? Don't worry. I don't think you'd believe me, but that's crazy.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Eddie
I'm telling you, something else comes up this morning.
Bobby Bones
I couldn't stop thinking of Campbell soup.
Kevin
What?
Bobby Bones
Like, I woke up, okay. No, no. And everywhere I looked, it was a Campbell soup. Campbell soup. You know who we talked to on the show earlier?
Jason Campbell
What?
Bobby Bones
J.C. campbell.
Eddie
It's not funny. It's not funny. It's different. That's like if you were walking down the street and a can of Campbell soup hit you in the head. That would be weird.
Bobby Bones
I'd be pissed. Yeah. Like, who. Who's throwing soup? Honestly, who is throw. I can't believe you thought Sanchez in a burrito.
Eddie
He sure won. Burrito.
Bobby Bones
It was also at a football game. What are they gonna do?
Eddie
Maybe, I don't know, deliberate.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Anything else that we have, Mike, we haven't gotten to.
Kevin
We're good.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Yep, we came. You know who had a big win was Cincinnati this past weekend.
Kevin
Oh, definitely not the Bengals. You're talking about university.
Eddie
Really, dude?
Kevin
Like, what they'?
Bobby Bones
Player. Yeah, I think we're gonna have Coach Satterfield on. On the show Thursday. Awesome. Which is cool. We met him, we went up Cincinnati. But then I brought him to the Opry a few weeks ago, before the season started. How many seasons? I mean, weeks, are we in seven weeks now? Six weeks? Eight weeks?
Kevin
Seven for college. Six Rennes.
Bobby Bones
Okay. So it's been about two and a half months ago. Golly.
Kevin
I know.
Eddie
Just like time flies.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I think he'll come on with us later on this week. But they're. They're good. The only game they lost was that early loss to Nebraska in Nebraska, Week one. But they beat Kansas. They beat UCF like they're a player.
Kevin
And they were beaten up on. Iowa State is who they beat.
Bobby Bones
Iowa State. That's a big win.
Kevin
Yeah, they were up like 317 or something at one point.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's crazy. So we'll have them on. All right, that's it. Hope you guys have a great rest of the day. Eddie, blow us a whistle. You did that so hard on purpose.
Eddie
No, no, I don't.
Bobby Bones
Because you're frustrated. Because we don't believe you're Mark Sanchez.
Eddie
You don't?
Bobby Bones
I kind of came to you, and he came to you in a shower.
Eddie
It kind of pisses me off a little bit. And I knew you all wouldn't believe me, but, dude, that's crazy.
Kevin
Why'd you tell Bobby?
Eddie
Just because I was gonna tell him. I want to talk about this on the show.
Jason Campbell
Okay.
Bobby Bones
And I was like, I can't wait for you, too. I, like, made him feel all good about it. I was like, yeah, that'd be really good to talk about.
Kevin
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Bones
Knowing exactly where we were gonna go with it. Yeah, man, that'd be great. Hey, I'm sure the guys won't give you any crap at all.
Eddie
Walk me right in.
Bobby Bones
Hey, feel super secure and safe when you talk about that.
Eddie
I hate you guys.
Mike
Safe space.
Bobby Bones
Check out the Brian Bosworth podcast over on the Bobbycast. And we will see you guys later on this week.
Eddie
All right, I'm gonna blow it again.
Kevin
All right, Bye, everybody.
