Kevin
This is a podcast called 25 Whistles.
Bobby Bones
Talking football.
Kevin
And they all wear a whistle yet Stupid.
Bobby Bones
But what did you expect? It's a podcast called 25 Whistles. 25 Whistles. Hey, welcome to the show. Blow that whistle, please. Thank you very much. Breaking news was Arkansas fired their coach? It's crazy. I'm glad I didn't go to the game.
Eddie
When did that happen?
Bobby Bones
What? That.
Eddie
The fire, the firing.
Bobby Bones
Sunday.
Eddie
Sunday.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, Sunday. Like in the first hour of the NFL games. Because me being the husband that I am, I told my wife, because I watched all football. I watched that Virginia game. Was that Thursday night or Friday?
Eddie
Friday night.
Bobby Bones
Okay. So I watched a lot of that game. Watched football all day Saturday. And then I knew I was going to watch a lot Sunday, which is obvious. And she was like, hey, what part of the day can we go, like to the mall and go. And I was like, I'm going. The morning. Sunday. Thing about Sunday mornings, nothing's open Sunday mornings. Nothing opens until noon.
Eddie
Yeah, smart.
Bobby Bones
What?
Eddie
Smart. You said. You said, well, I'm open in the morning.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
No, dumb.
Eddie
So it's like, she's like, well, I only got you in the morning when everything's closed.
Bobby Bones
Dumb. Because it was. I needed to be there when it opened.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh.
Bobby Bones
So we did some stuff from like 12 to 1:30, which I didn't really care about because it's kind of a crappy slate of games, at least on the surface. And even the games that ended up being pretty good. Really, who cares? So we went to the mall and while we were at the mall shopping for all kinds of crap and we had lunch and then I get my phone up and it's like, sam Pittman fired. So it had to be in that window. But yeah, I saw it on Twitter. I knew it was going to happen.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I was told by a couple people before the game that there were going to be some changes regardless of what happened after the Notre Dame game. If we would have won, I think they probably would have changed a coordinator or so. If we would have lost maybe a coordinator, but because we got beat so bad, it was, you got to go and move off the coach. So they cut him. It sucks to see somebody lose their job, and the more adult I get, the more I hate to see someone lose their job. But it was time for that job to switch, and so we'll talk about it later.
Eddie
That's a good point, because when you're younger, you're just like, fire him.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, well. And you have a personal relationship with the guy. I mean, you can't help but to have that at least conflicted a little bit.
Bobby Bones
I. I don't know. It's like, the worse he got, the more I didn't have a relationship.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
You're like, haven't seen him in a few years.
Bobby Bones
Well, mostly because we weren't, like, close friends anyway, and there really weren't a lot of instances that I'd reach out to be like, hey, this is going good. Congratulations.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So there wasn't a reason to reach out.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That's true.
Bobby Bones
I. I called him once. He called me once. We. I was looking at buying a house in Hot Springs. I think we talked about that. Go to the game, see him a little bit. But then it just. It went downhill.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Eddie
When. When do you think he kind of had the idea that he was getting fired?
Bobby Bones
Well, I think last year for a while.
Eddie
Okay. But then that went away.
Bobby Bones
I think the Tennessee win last year was so big for the program that that allowed him to keep his job. I think when Memphis happened.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
But, like, halftime of the Notre Dame game, he had to be in there like, damn, this is my last half. I'm done.
Bobby Bones
I think after Memphis, he knew this was going to be his last year. I think at Notre Dame half, he knew this is probably going to be his last game, especially going into the bye week.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That sucks.
Bobby Bones
So, yeah, it was a crazy weekend. I won't even say bad is embarrassing to get beat that bad on national television, but I think we kind of needed that to go ahead and tear off the band aid. What's crazy is, and it's probably not as crazy from the outside looking in, but the fact that Bobby Petrino is our head coach again is wild, considering when he went out, like, it was like a flame, a fireball on its way out because he wrecked the fricking motorcycle. Finger quotes. There was a whole situation where he was the girl. Yeah. He paid somebody to work for. For. It was a whole thing I just.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Picture him in a neck brace. Every time we bring this up, I just picture him maybe like a boot, a cast and leg, just standing there in that neck brace.
Bobby Bones
And people that worked for him talk about how terrible he was to work for. Now he won games. He won 11. He won 10. He won a lot of games. And I don't work for you? Just win? Yeah, just win. And if they don't want to work for you, they don't have to. But it's bizarre that he's the head coach again. I think there's almost no chance he keeps that job after this year. I think he's going to need to win six, seven. Six or seven games. Unwinnable games.
Eddie
You got a tough schedule coming up.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I mean, it's. It's awful. We go to Tennessee in two weeks. That'll be his first game. I was thinking about going over and just watching it.
Eddie
You know, a little hop and a skip. Two hours away.
Bobby Bones
Little Bobby for Bobby. Here we go. Let's get it. One Bobby for another Bobby.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Now can you watch the rest of the season kind of like, hey, whatever happens, happens.
Bobby Bones
I can watch the rest of the season just purely rooting without wondering what happens if it doesn't go right.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Okay.
Bobby Bones
Because I was rooting for us hard, but at the same time, I'm going about halftime, man. If we don't put up a fight, it's over. We're just gonna turn the page. And I think it'd be best for everybody to turn the page.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So it's weird. It's weird when you know the people that are getting fired. It's weird when you know the people that are doing the firing. So it's weird when you're giving money to the place that's doing the firing. Cause they suck and didn't use your money. Right.
Eddie
I can't imagine what that feels like.
Bobby Bones
But I'm not even. I'm not even the whales. I'm not even know I get the big tunas like I am.
Eddie
But still, it's money, man. And like, you give it to it to an organization to do something good with it.
Bobby Bones
And I've given hundreds of thousands of dollars in the past few years. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in the past few years.
Eddie
That hurts.
Bobby Bones
And I think that makes you more sensitive about it because you're like, I'm paying this in, and I don't really use it for anything. If we were good, I. I'd want to have access and be up there. But when we suck, like they called before the Notre Dame game. I'll just say they. They called and they said, hey, you still want your sweet tickets? And I said, it's an interesting question.
Eddie
For the weekend for that game.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Okay.
Bobby Bones
And I was like, it's interesting. I said, why? Why? Like you've never called before asking? And they say, yeah, everybody's backing out. Wow. And. And I said, you know, my wife and Caitlin's pregnant, and she's not really wanting to fly and was like, you know, that's a perfect excuse.
Eddie
So I said, yeah.
Bobby Bones
I said, we're gonna hang back.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
You're already catching on.
Eddie
Personal reasons.
Bobby Bones
Yes, we're gonna hang back. They knew it wasn't personal reasons.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
But that didn't.
Eddie
Good thing you didn't go, man.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. But here we are. We're actually recording this on late Sunday because I. I got a flight I got to catch quickly after the show Monday to get to New York. So we're actually fresh after the NFL games. We can go roll through some notes here. I have written notes, random notes, and let us go through them. Number one, our WTF parlay. It did not hit. We did not expect it to hit. Yeah. It was over immediately on Saturday.
Eddie
We never said wtf.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
It just went away.
Bobby Bones
I told you, don't bet this. So the WTF parlay of Arkansas winning and the Cowboys winning. We're at the time we're recording this. We have no idea what the Cowboys did.
Eddie
They probably won.
Bobby Bones
You think so?
Eddie
No. No, I really don't think so.
Bobby Bones
It was an odd day. I mean, look at the Giants.
Eddie
Yeah. The Giants, Chargers, the Bill. The Bills is a close game. The Saints making it a weird close game.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. We're close games, though. That happens all the time. Yeah. The actual. Actually seeing a team lose, I was surprised to see the Chargers, undefeated, lose to the Giants. Jackson Dart looked pretty good. He ran the ball a lot at the beginning of the game. And then he gets his bell rung. Yes. And it's like. Yeah. If you run with a guy 11 times.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
That early. And he came back and they ended up winning the game.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. And he's a guy that when he runs, even in college especially, you, like, he doesn't go down and he goes head first. Yeah. And you're like, dude, you got to chill.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Got a chill.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I didn't see him wearing as many jewels, although I didn't see a lot.
Eddie
Of clothes a little bit.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, I saw when he scored that touchdown, he started doing a dance. All I see is a necklace Bouncing up and down and up and down.
Bobby Bones
I was watching on my phone. My wife was cool enough. We were having dinner at the Nordstrom Cafe, and we go up, and she was like, you can watch Red Red Zone.
Eddie
Oh, that's cool.
Bobby Bones
While we're having lunch. And I was like, well, I wanted to be delicious. I don't give a crap. Watch the games. And so she goes, I'll watch it with you. She's very much a college football person, not really an NFL person.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
But the Oklahoma bowl was happening, and so she was watching Jalen Hurts and Baker Mayfield play each other, and that was one of the games they kept going back to.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, that was a great game.
Eddie
Good game.
Bobby Bones
It was good. Yeah. Bucks came back and fought, man.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
No, just couldn't pull it out this time.
Bobby Bones
They couldn't pull it out.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
We have money this time, but next time, watch out next time. Real quick. The Giants, though, neighbors see that?
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. Towards acl.
Eddie
How did they know? So cool Quick that he. I mean, I, I. You see him grab his knee, you see what happens. You expect that to happen for them to come out real quick and be like, yeah, confirmed.
Bobby Bones
How quick was it? Because again, I was.
Eddie
I'd say 30 minutes.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
So I saw the notification, like, an.
Bobby Bones
Hour or two after they know. Five minutes.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
They can feel it.
Bobby Bones
After they get. After they get it under, they know in five minutes.
Eddie
Okay. I didn't know. They need an MRI to, like, confirm.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, well, I know the Achilles because players have talked about in the past. Like, they felt it, and like, yeah, it's done.
Bobby Bones
Who tore their Achilles recently? It just happened. And they went down. Because when you said that, something came to my mind.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Recent research. I mean, Tatum pops in my head, but that was six months ago now.
Bobby Bones
No, this is, like, in the past few days. He tore his Achilles and he goes down and like, oh, Najee Harris. Maybe that's who it was. He tore his last weekend, last week.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, it was.
Bobby Bones
And he went down, and immediately, because he picked his foot up, it was like, yeah, that's it. That's what I'm so afraid of. Doing anything now.
Eddie
Oh, just bending over to pick something up.
Bobby Bones
It's protecting. Protecting my Achilles. Because that is the bad one.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
We see it all the time, too.
Eddie
Well, and then we're older, too, and then you see people doing it, playing pickleball. Like, just little things, golfing, dumb stuff like that.
Bobby Bones
You're like, our friend of mine stepped off a curb. That's it. And he's a. No, seriously, he is all muscles. Great shape. Ripped. Stepped off a curb. Wrong. Popped his Achilles. Oh, and he was on crutches for nine months.
Eddie
Felt like forever.
Bobby Bones
Another note I have. Speaking of that Eagles game, the Eagles fake tush push had to piss everybody off. They ran basically a counter that was okay, let's get up to the line. And they handed a sakewan around the edge. Nobody was near him. And so if you have to watch for the counters, if you have to watch for anything other than the tush push, you're not going to stop the tush push because you need everybody to get down, dive bomb that for a chance, and you're not even going to stop it then.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
So it's over.
Bobby Bones
They were waiting for that.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
They knew it was going to work as soon as they drew it up. Let's. Let's run the tush push counter. Saquon jogged in.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That had to be like a trolling move slightly right with Sirianni. Like, you guys are so mad about the touch push. Here you go. Take this.
Eddie
We're not doing it. Yeah, Another shovel pass is so cool, too. Like how they get away. They do that shovel pass to the tight end from the push push.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
I just don't know how you stop that as a defense. It's just with the. With the Eagles, it's. It's. It's so hard because, like, they got Saquon, they. They have Hertz, and then you got the passing game, but no, then you have a tight end that they're going to sh. They're going to shove it to.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I watched the Virginia Florida State game on Friday night. No, not all of it. The end of it. I'm not going to act like I was so dialed in that I watched all of it, because I didn't. But I watched probably three quarters of the fourth quarter, and then the clip has just been played 10,000 times of that field storming. It's the quickest field storming I've ever seen.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Insane.
Eddie
It's almost like they were loading up on the side before it even happened, because they were.
Bobby Bones
They were. They were loading up on the back of the.
Eddie
Yeah, that's it. That's it.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. And like, before you even saw whether you caught it or not, they were already going.
Bobby Bones
There's no. There was no barrier either.
Eddie
The receiver was still on the ground. It ran in.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
That was awesome.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
It was great.
Bobby Bones
Luckily, there was no flag because it was an incomplete pass. And luckily there was no flag anywhere because there could have been a flag. There could have been, like, a Defensive holding on the other side of the field. Yeah. Nothing.
Eddie
Get everyone out.
Bobby Bones
They had to do like Arizona State did last year, make everybody get off the field after they had rushed the field, run another play. Once I remember seeing Kentucky rush the field, jump on the field goal post, and then they end up losing the game.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Is that lsu?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Right. Yeah. Yeah, I remember that.
Eddie
The kids have to stop with a flipping off, though.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Like I was going to say, am I an old guy for thinking I was annoyed by looking.
Bobby Bones
Me too.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I was like, come on, man, explain.
Bobby Bones
Explain why you say that.
Eddie
Well, you just see, like, I mean, guys, guys, girls, everyone. And I saw it live. I don't know what picture you guys are talking about, but when it happened, they would cut away really quick when they saw. But kids were just running up to the, you know, the Florida State players and just flipping them off right in front of their face mask.
Bobby Bones
There was one picture that was going viral of a guy holding his phone up, taking a pic, a video of a Florida State player while flipping him off with the other hand.
Eddie
Yeah, it's just like. And you.
Bobby Bones
And as a Fortnite player. Yeah. You can't do anything back, but if they do, you're like, ah, you kind of like. I understand why you would feel the need. You can't do it. You got to be bigger than that if you lose. But they're triggered because they lost. They lost at the last. I mean, they didn't lose on the last play. They had to actually make that catch. So it wasn't like they were up and lost. But still, you can't. It's also some guy that could have never played football.
Eddie
Right. It's also easy.
Bobby Bones
Ultimate loser that never would do that in that same situation anywhere other than right then and there where they were protected.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
And he wants to go viral. That's why he's doing that.
Bobby Bones
A wimp. We hate you, dude.
Eddie
We don't like you.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Watch the. The blunt Leger. Blunt punch and do it.
Bobby Bones
Oregon, then do it. Yep. Okay. Let's see. I wrote, missed the first half of the first games at the mall. I prefer long shorts. Now, here's your note. But here's why I wrote.
Eddie
That has nothing to do with football.
Bobby Bones
I was missing the games, which I was happy to do. And we went in to Lululemon because my wife wanted to get some pants or something, and she's like, I like it when you wear those shorts instead of the ones that you wear. And they're like. They're like not even halfway through the.
Eddie
Quad you were trying them on?
Bobby Bones
No, they're just on the mannequin.
Eddie
Oh, okay.
Bobby Bones
And just the legs. Not even, like full mannequin with the full body.
Eddie
Oh.
Bobby Bones
She's like, I like it when you wear those short shorts. And I don't think she does. I think she just hates it when I wear my 90s church league basketball, because every pair of shorts I have is that if it's not a pair of dress shorts, they all go down to my knees. It's, you know, Chris Weber. It's. It's that. And so I wrote that as a note.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
So it's a thing now, though. It's like a fashion popular.
Bobby Bones
I have some and I wear them occasionally and I feel like my balls are coming out of. Right.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I'll wear them around the house, but out in public, I'm like, I don't know if I can do this.
Eddie
Are they workout shorts or just. They're workout shorts. Okay.
Bobby Bones
You can. I mean, you can hang out if you want.
Eddie
Because I have, like, these nice, nice shorts that are, like, too high and I feel like my nuts are hanging out of those. And, like, I don't know, man. They just don't feel comfortable. I don't think anybody wants to see our leg that much of our leg, but maybe our wives do, I think.
Bobby Bones
I don't even think it's that they want to see our leg. I think it's just the style of the short. Otherwise it looks extremely dated.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
The baggy shorts will make a comeback.
Eddie
Everything does.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I know, right?
Bobby Bones
But then they're going to go out of style again. If we're using that logic, yes.
Eddie
Everything does.
Bobby Bones
The Steelers backup quarterback Skyler Thompson got jumped and robbed in Dublin. They didn't say much else.
Eddie
Dangerous.
Bobby Bones
I've been to Dublin. Everybody's drunk.
Eddie
But, I mean, you read a little headline like that, you're thinking like, whoa, do not walk the streets of Dublin exactly at night.
Bobby Bones
I don't know what time he was out, but you're exactly right. Everybody's drunk.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And I think of Peaky Blinders. Like, everybody's Peaky blinders after, like, 11 o'. Clock. If you're walking, it's nighttime. You're in Dublin, a bunch of drunk Irish dudes.
Eddie
Is that Peaky Blinders?
Bobby Bones
I don't know if they're Irish and all, but that's what I think.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
They're England, but close enough.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
You never seen it?
Eddie
No.
Bobby Bones
It's like a white gang.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
And he's on ir, so he was probably drinking because he's not playing right now.
Bobby Bones
And he stayed. Yeah, he stayed with the team.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. So he's hanging out.
Eddie
So you get robbed. So what it said.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. Jumped.
Bobby Bones
Jumped and robbed. That sucks too. If you're like a professional athlete, you have to go back and tell your boys that you got jumped and robbed.
Eddie
You're an athlete, man. You're tough.
Bobby Bones
Like be Superman. Like beat him up. You're the.0001% over here in America.
Eddie
I wouldn't make up those 10 guys though.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
They all had guns in the other nine.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
You know what I mean?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So saw that the Oregon, Penn State game was good. Yeah, it was good. I watched all of that flipping back and forth between the Alabama. Georgia game.
Eddie
Yes, Those are the two.
Bobby Bones
That was a weird game. I. I picked Georgia. Our parlay did not hit because I had Georgia winning the other games hit. So that's on me. But I was rooting for Alabama. I like. I think Caleb Debor is a good coach. I've been saying it. Even though. Even with all the losing. I think he's a good coach. And the lady who wanted to buy out his contract with the Powerball, I thought about her. What would you do with 800 million? I buy out Kayin Bore's contract.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Right. So Ty Simpson's legit.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. He's good.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
He throws a beautiful football.
Eddie
He can run too.
Bobby Bones
And you know, he only won the quarterback competition like right before the season.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. And he lost it to Milro, what, two years ago or last year, whenever that was.
Bobby Bones
And stayed.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. Which is unheard of.
Bobby Bones
Love somebody that stayed. It's like nussm. Lsu. Like he stayed. He backed up Jane Daniels for two years. Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So I love somebody that stays. Although Nussmeier, I think he's hurt.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
There's got to be something.
Bobby Bones
I think he's hurt because they can't.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Put up 20 points even.
Bobby Bones
I think he's hurt. It was fun to see Lane Kiffin win that game. It wasn't about Hemingway. So it was an Ole Miss home game. But the fact that Lane's daughter is dating Whit Weeks, the linebacker, who I know from the Netflix series.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Same.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. You like him.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I mean, I like.
Bobby Bones
I liked him too. I like his brother.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
His whole family is dead.
Bobby Bones
All three of his brothers play for LSU right now.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And so to see that Lane Kiffin's daughter's dating the LSU guy. Yeah. Weird that Lane Kiffin said before the game take the over, like they were going to score a bunch of points even just Insinuating gambling talk is hilarious from a head coach.
Eddie
Can't do that.
Bobby Bones
And then afterward, he did it again after they won the game. So that's fun. It was a fun college football weekend through the first noon games of the NFL. It's kind of a boring NFL first round.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I loved it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, because the Patriots won.
Eddie
Put a whooping on massacred.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I haven't seen a game like that since that TB12 that was back there.
Bobby Bones
It didn't start good.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, I. I almost texted you guys, like, oh, no, it's gonna be a long day.
Eddie
Hey, no text thread today.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I know. I think it's because we knew we were gonna be hanging out.
Bobby Bones
Oh, no, I didn't. Oh, I. No, no, no.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That was just me, I guess. Oh, you were at lunch is what it was.
Bobby Bones
I was at lunch, the first part. And then everything was going good in the Patriots game, so I don't need to text anything about that. And the other game we were caring about was Eagles and the Eagles and the Bucks, and I just didn't want to waste a. Hey, there's no way Baker can do this again. I know, because I really didn't think he would. In the last two weeks. I thought maybe he can because there's plenty of time. I didn't think he could. And when they were like, you know, milking it down to like six seconds, I was like, I'm just going to let this one go.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, he tried, but they were down big. I mean, I think, yeah, they were down big. 24, 3. Maybe at one point they had their shot, too. He threw that pick.
Eddie
A couple of shots.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, they burn down big. Okay, we're gonna go and talk to Brandon Marcelo in just a second, so let's take a quick break. We will talk a lot about Arkansas's head football coach being fired. Who could be next? The Alabama game, The Oregon game. I got a business idea as well. So we'll come back right after this. Football is back, and so is your chance to cash in like never before. With DraftKings Pick Six, the official daily fantasy partner of the NFL, your game day instincts can score you real money fast. Here's how to play. You just pick more or less on two or more player stats from rookies running the ball, quarterbacks throwing the ball. You know, unlock the upside every snap brings. For example, let's talk about the games tonight. Jamar Chase, more or less than 64 receiving yards versus the Broncos. I'd probably go more on that one. J.K. dobbins, more or less than 65 rushing yards versus the Bengals. I'm probably gonna go more on that one. Yeah, I do a lot of mores on this, Bo. Next more or less than 220 passing. I would go less. That's the one I want to go less on because I don't think they'll need to throw the ball that much now. Okay, let's go over now to Brandon Marcelo, who writes for cbs. You can follow him on Instagram randonmarcello. His latest article was about the University of Arkansas and, and having to move on from Sam Pittman. So here he is, national college football insider Brandon Marcelo. All right, Brandon Marcelo is on with us. Let's start because it's close to my heart and also you were at the game. When did you first hear that Sam.
Brandon Marcelo
Pittman was fired about when everybody else did. I was actually on the phone with someone that was in the dark like me and was wondering if, like kind of if they had a job still in that building. And that's when the news broke. I'm kind of told that I guess it went out to the public about the same time the staffers found out just about the same time at Arkansas. So but yesterday or on Saturday, I should say it became pretty clear that something was going to happen one way or another whether there's going to be some staff changes or a head coach. And you know, as I've been reporting since the week before last, the, the idea that the buyout for him and it dropping after a few more losses, that being an issue. I was told that wasn't going to be an issue. If things got bad enough and losing by 43 points at home was certainly.
Bobby Bones
Bad enough, I made the last minute call not to go to that game. Would you say that was a good call?
Brandon Marcelo
Yeah, man. I've been to a few games there where, you know, it empties out, it's a blowout or whatever. I've been to several or two under Pittman where it's been like that. The Missouri game I think last year or maybe a couple years ago, I can't remember which. And it was like 1015,000Missouri fans still in the stadium. And it was kind of just like, wow, what is this? And then yesterday Saturday was just about as bare as I've seen it. Late in the fourth quarter, I mean I heard player parents yelling at the coaches. You know, it was like watching a peewee game. Like, hey, put the, put the backups in. I mean player parents, it was, it's not what you expect from an SEC football team.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it sucked. But at least the team, the program can move forward now. Bobby Petrino, I never thought I'd see the day that he was the head coach again. He is the interim head coach. Does he have any shot at retaining that job?
Brandon Marcelo
He'd have to do something pretty remote, miraculous. I mean you look at the schedule, five of the last seven opponents are all ranked and the other two have a combined record of seven and three right now. So even the teams that aren't ranked, Mississippi State and Auburn are pretty good. So considering how badly this defense has been playing and you know, the things I've heard about the just the locker room atmosphere right now and kind of it's a bunch of new faces and maybe they're just not kind of all holding onto the rope at the same time the same way. It, it would be the miracle of miracles if, if they were to somehow get out of that to a situation where Arkansas is talking about, you know, an eight win season. Because I think it'd be. It had to take something like that for Petrino to even be considered for the full time gig considering his past. He's been given second chance after second chance like practically everywhere. I mean this. Remember he went to Louisville twice, he's been to Arkansas twice. He got back into coaching by starting back off at Missouri State and working his way up to Western Kentucky, then Louisville. And I think to me, Bobby, I don't know about you, Bobby, Petrino needs to approach this opportunity as a moment to walk into the sunset with his held his head held high for the first time. We all know how it ended at Arkansas back in 2011. I don't think we've ever seen a second opportunity like this. And he's not going to erase the past but represent the program well, do well by yourself and the players, take care of everybody around you and go, maybe go win a couple of games and show some passion and talk about how important the state is to you and getting this opportunity and you'll be able to leave when this is all over with and be able to say I never thought I'd get my second chance and I did and I feel like I did it the right way.
Bobby Bones
Let me throw a few coaches at you and you tell me if you think there's any shot that Arkansas lands the coach Rhett Lashley at smu.
Brandon Marcelo
Yeah, there's a chance he's in a better spot right now at SMU financially because the NIL backing all that stuff of the revenue sharing. But if Arkansas can get its ducks in a row and throw some support behind, behind him and show. Here's our plan, here's our NIL plan. This is how much money you're gonna get to work with. This is the structure we're gonna provide to you because right now it's. It's not. Say it's in shambles, but it's not very good at Arkansas. They need to get everything put together for that, to pitch it to him and then tug on his heartstrings. He's an Arkansas guy, grew up in Springdale. You know, I'm. I've known him forever. He has tons of pictures of himself dressed up in Razorback gear. I remember him telling me stories about going to go see Ken Hatfield, the former Arkansas coach, being excited just to go somewhere to go see him and shake his hand and get to meet him and talk, talk about becoming a head coach someday. And his dream was to be the head coach at Arkansas someday. But times change, people change, and he's in a very good spot at smu. I think it would take quite a bit of commitment on Arkansas's part to, to entice him.
Bobby Bones
What about a guy like Dan Mullen at unlv? It's his first year there, but he had a lot of success in the SEC the first time and probably got run from Florida a little too early.
Brandon Marcelo
Yeah, I think he did too. He got ran from there too early. Let's see how Dan does here in the back half of the schedule. I'm not discounting the way they started going 4. 0, but the schedule hasn't been all that tough. Remember their first game against Idaho State? They probably should have lost an FCS team, but I, I think I agree with you. Dan's an incredible coach, schemer, but I think he's a name that won't start creeping up unless they start winning some, some bigger games in the Mountain west, especially in conference there.
Bobby Bones
My final question about who could possibly be the coaches, what coordinator are you hearing? Whispers they're looking to make that jump to the head coaching job at a P4 school.
Brandon Marcelo
Will Stein, the offensive coordinator at Oregon, he's someone that I think is going to get a lot of consideration out there potentially. Also keep in mind we're probably gonna have a record breaking year as far as coach openings. So there's gonna be a lot of jobs available and a lot of candidates and a lot of assistant coaches making that jump. You know, consider Glenn Schumann, the defensive coordinator at Georgia. They did a pretty good job in the second half against Alabama. He's always been a good coordinator, someone on the rise. And as we saw Dan Lanning, formerly a coordinator under, under Kirby, making that jump. But right now I think it's a lot of like, prove it type Things I was really high, for example, going into last week on Andy Kotlenecki, the offensive coordinator, Penn State. And you saw how much they struggled until the fourth quarter when the offense finally came back to life. But these days a lot of ads want a head coach who's a CEO type that can handle everything. Not necessarily someone who happen to handle the back office stuff and everything and also call place. They need someone who is trained to handle that stuff. And it's more a business like approach. So you'd have to be a really, really hot coordinator I think to really get a big ton of consideration. Right now.
Bobby Bones
These programs like a Virginia, a UCLA and Arkansas that obviously are going to have to hire a new coach, they are in the middle of the season, like how aggressive can they hunt and who's doing the hunting? Who are they talking to?
Brandon Marcelo
You know, a lot of these schools, they'll go hire a search firm of some sort of, and it's usually the same one and they kind of compile a list, they start making calls, gauging type of interest at least from the agents. Rarely are they actually talking directly to the coaches. They're talking to their agents and then the agents are hitting up their coaches from time to time. But I, I think you're getting at a good point here, which is there's only so much you can do. I mean we're not even out of the month of September and we're talking about coaching changes and you're not going to be able to hire anyone until the first week or second week of December because everybody's coaching right now. So a coach could show a lot of interest in a job and that could change overnight because one, they don't like the situation potentially they're being offered or two, another job comes open or they hear another job's going to come open. But places like Virginia Tech, Arkansas and elsewhere, they've certainly got a working list that are putting together. They're vetting all of that in the early going. But you're right, there's, there's just not much you can do. Like anybody expecting like by mid October to start hearing it police places like so and so is going to end up being the coach. You're kidding yourself.
Bobby Bones
I should have added the Tech because Virginia had a really good win against Florida State. So that, that'll lead me there. Florida State. That was kind of a ripe game for Florida State to lose in hindsight, right?
Brandon Marcelo
Yeah, absolutely. Because you know, going into that both offenses are in the top five, top ten nationally. Florida State was number one. Virginia was no slouch. They were scoring almost 50 points a game themselves. They brought in a lot of transfers. You talk about nil money, I'm actually writing a story about this. They. They got a gigantic anonymous gift from a booster, and they used that to help build this roster. Their general manager said back in July, the moment they got that gift, they said our recruiting board completely changed. They erased it and started putting new names on there because they could get bigger guys. And I'm told, my sources there in Charlottesville told me they spent about $20 million, if not more, just in nil money on the portal this off season. And it's paved dividends for them. Right? Eight of their starters are all new players. 19 of the 32 transfers that came in all played a significant part on the field against Florida State. That's. Our roster looks completely different and they're playing differently. And it just goes to show you these days in college football that you can change things overnight if you just got like, deep, deep pockets in the big nil program.
Bobby Bones
Let's do a couple same song, different verses, and we can start with James Franklin at Penn State losing another big one, actually the first wideout they've ever lost double overtime. So great game for me, because I didn't really have a rooting interest. But when will James Franklin losing these games wear thin on Penn State?
Brandon Marcelo
I think it has worn thin. I thought. I think it's worn thin on them. A few years ago. They're 2 and 21, or, excuse me, James Franklin overall in his career is 2 and 21 against top 6 teams, second worst ever, all time, which is actually just behind a Hall of Fame coach, Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech. He has the actual worst record against top six top five type teams. And give credit to James Franklin quite a bit because, listen, Big Ten media days, all these other events, I go to where he's at. I'm not kidding you. He's probably asked two or three times about his record against top five teams, like, are you ever going to win the big one or you're gonna be able to do it? And of course, he was asked about it again Saturday night after losing, and he said it's not a narrative, it's just facts. I mean, he's just like, you're not. He's. What he's saying is you're not just telling me something to anger me. I know it's a fact, and that's my fault is kind of what he's saying. And he just knows he has to win. I think also we need to put in context that yes, Penn State is a blue blood, but the talent level that they bring in the Penn State is probably a half step to one step below what you see at Michigan and Ohio State every single year and for that matter Oregon, the level they recruit. Just go look at the numbers and the players. But we have it in our head that Penn State should be winning a national title every few years because James Franklin's made them so consistent year after year after year, winning 10 games. And they just can't get over that last step because, I mean, let's face it, their stride is a little bit shorter than those other bigger schools.
Bobby Bones
The other version of same song, different verse is Alabama, Georgia, where it doesn't matter who the coaches at Alabama, they tend to be Georgia and Kirby Smart every year.
Brandon Marcelo
I that was nuts, man. And in the second half I think Kirby smarts just like legitimately sees ghosts whenever Alabama's on the other sideline. Doesn't matter who the coach is. Some weird decisions they got 4th and 1 at Alabama's 8 yard line. Instead of kicking a field goal to tie it in the second half, they decide to run a quick handoff to Cash Jones who hadn't really touched the ball at all. And he ends up stumbling and getting blown up by LT Overton for Alabama. And they lose yardage and turn over the ball. And then later they, they call another play on fourth down and they turn the ball over again by, you guessed it, throwing it out to Cash Jones who lost yardage on it. I even tweeted during the game, I was like, somebody explain Cash Jones to me because it does makes no sense why they're utilizing that guy in the two biggest plays of the game. And then you had a player get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for jumping on top of the pile on a tush push where it was third and one. Alabama picked up the first down, but also they got an additional 15 yards so Alabama could keep the ball and melt the clock down. Just weird decisions. And Smart defending himself afterwards said 10 times out of 10 he'd call that trick that that quick handoff instead of kicking the field goal for the tie. And listen, this is something that dates back even back to 2018 in the SC championship game. That the fake punt that made no sense against Alabama. I think he just overthinks himself quite a bit and that's been his undoing. And credit Kaylin DeBoer. I mean he's 7 and 1 now against top 10 teams in his head coaching career, the guy is just a big game coach.
Bobby Bones
Three questions left. Let's go to Vandy. They're scoring a bunch of points. They're going to play Alabama next week. One, how good is Vandy? And two, is this something Vandy can sustain for a couple of years at.
Brandon Marcelo
This point if they can get Diego Pavier like a seventh and eighth year of eligibility? Yeah, he's the engine man, right. And I think that combination of him and then getting Jerry Kill, the former New Mexico State coach there on staff to kind of help guide things and say, hey, this is what works with Diego has really helped. But I think when Diego leaves, they'll take a little bit of a step back. But the good thing is is Diego has set up a foundation, so to speak, of, hey, good talent can come here. And by the way, when you are here, you're not just going to float in space. You're going to potentially win games. And as you've seen, they've. They've updated facilities there. They're. They're amazing there in Nashville now. Clark Lee's got that thing going. I think they're going to attract a better type of recruit. They already are. As for this weekend, it's so weird to say this, but Alabama's out for blood against Vanderbilt. This is a revenge game for Alabama because Vandy beat him last year. I think. I think Vandy's walking into a hornet's nest. They haven't faced an opponent nearly as good as Alabama yet this season. And it being on the road, I think. I think it has the potential, the potential to get ugly because I think Diego Pavier might get put into a lot of troubling situations where he's going to turn the ball over trying to force things.
Bobby Bones
All right, two questions left. Do your Heisman top three right now because it is not what I thought it would be at this point in the year.
Brandon Marcelo
Oh, gosh, I haven't even thought about it because it ain't.
Bobby Bones
It ain't Ness Meyer, he struggled or been hurt or whatever's happening. I don't know what's happening.
Brandon Marcelo
Yeah, I. He's off the. Not off the board, but he's. Yeah. Dante Moore's climbing up there. To me, the Oregon quarterback, he's been phenomenal. I put him up there. Fernando Mendoza is still up there. I think Carson Beck is potentially going to start climbing up the charts more. They get Florida State this week on the road. If he has a big performance on the road against Florida State in a rivalry game, I think that's when you'll see Carson Beck potentially go up further. But it's crazy just a week ago that the Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza jumped up to number one after just blowing out Illinois. But right now it seems like it's going to be a quarterback award, which it really hasn't been in recent history, but it seems like we're, we're moving more in that direction. One dark horse, I'll say, is Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy. He has been phenomenal. He's had five straight games, 100 plus yards. He just had another 130 yard game Saturday night. He's the best running back in the sec, maybe the country, and Mizzou likes to feed him. He's not one of these running backs nowadays that touches the ball 15 times. That's it. He'll get it 20, 25 times. And he's just explosive and a hard runner. And once they start playing better, better teams and he puts that type of production, I think you'll, you'll start hearing his name quite a bit more.
Bobby Bones
All right, final question. This is more of a, a suggestion that I would make very macro to a school like an Arkansas that complains about Nil. But it is, it is ironic that Arkansas will go ahead and pay the extra 2 million for his buyout, but we don't have enough money to support Nil. Like, it's like you have the money, you just haven't used it. So what if we could invest into these teams? Meaning, let's say they needed a hundred bucks and I was like, okay, I'll give 10 and take, take the 10 and get your. And then at the end, if we end up making 400, I get my percentage based on how the school did in revenue with the money I gave. So it's not like rich people just giving money and going, here you go, have money. With nothing for me except for me getting to brag about being able to donate. What if there was the ability to make money back on a team if you gave money?
Brandon Marcelo
What a great idea. You should pitch it.
Bobby Bones
I'm serious. Like, I want. Because, look, I'm going to be honest. I, I give money and they want more money. They never don't. They never want less money. I've never had that happen in my whole life where they've been like, you know what? You've given us a little too much. Keep some for yourself. That's never happened. But I start to go, especially after the Arkansas AD last week or two weeks, whenever it was, whenever. Speaking of touchdown, Club. Yeah. He was like, you know, we're just not. We. We don't really have it to be a championship team. And I'm like, well, then why am I giving money if. If we don't have it? Why. Why do you continue to take my money if we don't have it? So now I'm thinking if there was, like, a revenue model for investors to get paid, I could see a lot of folks throwing money into this thing. Is that some. Have you ever heard that before, or am I absolutely insane?
Brandon Marcelo
No, you're not insane, and I haven't really heard that before. I'm also not very smart with money, so that's probably why I never thought of something like that. But it certainly sounds very doable, right? Especially, can you imagine some of these programs, like, even, like you said, Arkansas, where everybody's all about it in one state, and you've got a lot of smart business people in this state that would be willing. You know what? That sounds like a good opportunity. Good idea. I. I like it. You go pitch that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you can do.
Brandon Marcelo
Next time Arkansas asks you for Next time Arkansas asks you for more money, go hair instead of money. Here's an idea.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I got envelope in the mail yesterday. It was one of those, hey, check this box if you can give us this amount of money. And I was like, I was just told, we can't win, so why do I want to give more money? So I'm sure I'll have to give some more now. I'm happy to give more now that we are moving hopefully in a different direction. But, man, to be at that game. Were you hearing any whispers in the press box about anything?
Brandon Marcelo
Yeah, yeah. I mean, they're just talking to people. They're just like this. There's no coming back from this. It's also getting some weird looks from some people going, why are you here?
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah, national guy in the Arkansas press box.
Brandon Marcelo
And I was sitting in the very back on, like, the third row. But, you know, two of the last three games I've been at the head coach got fired.
Bobby Bones
Oh, no. You got to keep him away. He's. He's like that cat at the nursing home that shows up near the door, and if it shows up near the person's door, the person always dies. Brandon is the cat at the nursing home. Oh, no. All right, Brandon.
Brandon Marcelo
Well, I'm going to be at. I'm going to be at Miami Florida State this week. So I think anybody will get fired after that. I think I'm good.
Bobby Bones
I think you're good, thankfully. Hey, good to talk to you, Brandon. We'll talk to you again next week.

All right, Eddie, you're done betting NFL games?
Eddie
Yeah, I think I'm done doing the straight up game parlays. Dude. I haven't hit one all season, you.
Bobby Bones
Know, like, I didn't get a ghost, like, this week.
Eddie
That's what I'm saying. You have to earn the ghost leg. You get. You get a free one.
Bobby Bones
But then after I spend enough to earn one, you should.
Eddie
You should definitely be getting a lot of ghost legs. But, like, I noticed like last week I didn't get a ghost leg, and that's because I never clicked the option to make a bet to get a ghost leg. So I did it finally and I got a ghost leg. Still can't hit it, dude, but you.
Bobby Bones
Ghost like this week.
Eddie
I ghost like this week. But I missed and I missed it. I missed it. And I'm done doing, like, straight up games. I'm not doing, like, you know, Steelers to win Moneyline. I'm not doing. Not doing the 12 gamers that I used to. I'm not even getting close to those.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Those are hard.
Eddie
They're so hard. Even when I pick two games, I don't hit them. Yeah, but, dude, I'm loving this, like, you know, Jameer Gibbs. Touchdown. Aaron Rodgers two touchdown pass. Like, I'm loving those stat parlays. I've already hit like four of them and that's like my thing now. And I think, Brandon, then you should do pick six. Then I should do pick six.
Bobby Bones
If you can do stats, you should do pick six. Okay. But anytime you think you're good at something you're not, that's when it comes crashing down.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yep.
Bobby Bones
Anytime you think you have anything figured out in gambling, and not just you. Yeah, especially you. But anybody else.

Be. Did you make money this weekend?

I did. Well, I made money and I made a lot of money on Saturday and Then, dude, it happens every Saturday. I feel like I'm just dominating college football. Like, this is awesome. And then I go to the nightcap games.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, no.
Eddie
And I'm at. I'm at UT El Paso versus who knows who.
Bobby Bones
Why are you betting that game?
Eddie
But listen. And I'm like, oh, you know what? This game's over. I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna bet $50 that nothing's gonna happen, that the score's gonna stay the same. No interception. Does the guy fall down and just, like, intercept the ball? No, he runs it in for a touchdown. I lose $50, and it makes me so mad. So what do I do? I bet 50 more on. On.
Bobby Bones
Why don't you stop betting the games? You have Colorado, no understanding of anything happening. I think that's. That's your mess up.
Eddie
The last game of the night. BYU at Colorado. I'm like, oh, come on. BYU is going to win this. So I got my money back.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, you did win that one.
Eddie
I did win that. I got my $50 back.
Bobby Bones
But is this like, whenever you said you were making $30 a picture on Instagram and I got in and you weren't, and you almost. You almost never did. Because I look money. If I were to look at your DraftKings.
Eddie
Yeah, I had $50.
Bobby Bones
No, I'm saying what I see. That you made money or lost money. Sure.
Eddie
Yeah. You can see my bets. You don't see my bets.
Bobby Bones
No, I don't want to see.
Eddie
I. Dude, it's a lot of bets.
Bobby Bones
But stop betting on games that you don't know anything about.
Eddie
That's the best, though. That's the best. Because I'm like, what am I gonna do? Everyone's asleep. It's 11:30 at night. I'm gonna stay up and watch football.
Bobby Bones
Then bet a dollar.
Eddie
I know. I should.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. And then wake up happy.
Eddie
I should.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
But I'm having. I'm having fun, dude. Dude, I'm telling you, a weekend. I probably place 30 bets.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I probably just. I mean, I probably do that, too.
Eddie
Finger happy, man.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That's a lot.
Bobby Bones
But mine are on games. I at least know what the mascot is.
Eddie
True.
Bobby Bones
You know.
Eddie
No, no, no, no. El Paso, the Miners. I didn't. I don't even know who they were playing.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, you tip.
Eddie
Oh, you tip.
Bobby Bones
Oh.
Eddie
And then I stayed up for the Raging Cajuns.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Louisiana.
Eddie
They were overtime, dude. Louisiana was playing overtime.
Bobby Bones
You're pointing at me like. I go, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm not. You don't need to Bet those games.
Eddie
Yeah, the only thing that's on.
Bobby Bones
Did you do any of the listening in the booth, like, with that?
Eddie
Did you see that on Friday? Yeah, dude, I love that.
Bobby Bones
What is that?
Eddie
Okay, so on Friday, the Virginia, Florida State game, every time the play would go to under review, they would play the audio of the guys back in New York watching the screens and the referee watching the screen. So the. Watching them converse and listening to them be like, all right, so his hand. I see his hand touching the ground, but is that ball moving? And then you can hear him arguing. Be like, I think the ball's moving. No, Tom, I really don't think the ball's moving there. And then the ref's like, you guys figure this one out. Like, you get to hear all it was.
Bobby Bones
So I never heard the ref go, you guys figured this one out. But I do understand what you're saying. Like, I'm clueless. Flip a coin. I didn't hear that one.
Eddie
And then what was cool is. And then they decide, okay, so is it going to be overturned? Let's just go with overturn. All right. One overturn. Yeah, overturn. Three overturn. All right. And then he takes his headphones off. And it's cool because you get to watch.
Bobby Bones
It's cool.
Eddie
You get to hear it where, like, we're just used to watching the guy look at the screen and then blah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Blah, blah, Talking to somebody in there who knows.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
And then you get a real good understanding of like, oh, that does make sense. Like now. Now I get why that wasn't targeted.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
They gotta hate that, though.
Bobby Bones
They're just showing their work. It's like when we see math problems in 8th grade. I was like, okay, I know you got your answer, but you got to show your work.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So when they show their work, you see how they get there so you have a better understanding of what the result is, even if you don't agree with it.
Brandon Marcelo
But.
Bobby Bones
But I agree with it. Both times I saw it. I saw it twice.
Eddie
Oh, they showed it every time.
Bobby Bones
But I only saw it.
Eddie
I guess you only watched the end, right?
Bobby Bones
I watched the last two thirds of.
Eddie
The final quarter and then the overtimes.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So they do it in overtime. I didn't see it overtime.
Eddie
I didn't see it overtime. So. So is this something that they can do for, like, ever?
Bobby Bones
Because they can if they would like to, like, Amazon. If not Amazon, but maybe it's Amazon prime stats.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So there's different feeds on. Yeah, it's Amazon. You can go to a different Feed altogether and watch almost what's like an all 22 version and see plays develop.
Eddie
Oh, that's awesome.
Bobby Bones
And so you're not watching from the typical view I was thinking of, because I get Amazon and YouTube TV mixed up because they're both streaming, both digital. It's Amazon. And you can back off and do another view.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, they have, like, probability that so. And so is coming.
Bobby Bones
Who's blitzing? They have, like, the bottom circle on the Blitzers.
Eddie
That's cool.
Bobby Bones
And sometimes they. The blitzer tricks them. But if they think it's blitzing, it gets dark. Like darker. Like hot pink.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. It looks like a video game almost.
Eddie
Dang. I've never seen that.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That's crazy.
Bobby Bones
It's super cool. So that. That is fun, though.
Eddie
Do you guys like the. The sky cam?
Bobby Bones
No, I actually hate it.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Wait, like the one on the Wire?
Eddie
Yeah, the one on the wire.
Bobby Bones
It looks like when they first started showing football on television in like, the 60s, when they had one camera at the top of the bleachers.
Eddie
Oh, yeah. Just doing the 50 yard.
Bobby Bones
That's what that reminds me of a bit. So I don't like it.
Eddie
And there's no commentators. It's just the camera in the crowd.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, no.
Eddie
And the crowd. Yes.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's. It's fun for a second. It'd be cool to put it up as a. If he had mean, I guess I could do it on my screens upstairs. I have three screens beside each other. It'd be cool to put it up beside the real one.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Okay. So.
Bobby Bones
But to watch it by itself, I don't. I don't have it. I need to be stimulated. Yeah.
Eddie
I just like the options. Like, if that's how the way you want to watch a game. Cool. You have an option to watch that game.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Who watches it like that? You and, like the boys?
Eddie
No, I mean, it's. It's an option. So sometimes, like, you see lsu Ole Miss and, like, you just click on a box and it ends up being that one.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Okay.
Eddie
And then you realize after five minutes of watching, you're like, there's no commentary on this. It's only one. Weird.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. What'd you think of Dan Lanning after they won the game?
Eddie
Dude, Dan Lanning is. He's different. Like the way he acted when they won that game, which was awesome. I'll just say it was great and it was cool to see him act like that, but I've never seen a coach twitch. And almost. It was almost like. This is going to sound weird, but it's almost like he killed someone and he's on for rush of like he just killed someone. And his eye was twitching and he was out of breath, and he really. He just didn't even know how to talk to the reporter because he was so freaking excited that they won that game. I've never seen a coach do that.
Bobby Bones
Did you watch the Charlie Sheen documentary?
Eddie
No.
Bobby Bones
It's like, when Charlie Sheen was doing all that crack. There's a whole part of the second episode, and it's the part that we remember most when he was, like, winning and.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
All. And he was like. And he was touring.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
His getting pumped up and being so excited is like Charlie Sheen on crack.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
So it's a healthy version.
Eddie
You did notice that. I mean, he was just.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. I mean, he is an intense guy.
Eddie
Intense.
Bobby Bones
So it's a bit of the intensity. He's pretty high strung anyway.
Eddie
And probably even when it's.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Oh. And almost like a cathartic release all happening at once.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. He's awesome, though.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, he's awesome.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
He takes jabs all the time. No, I know you're not saying anything bad. I'm just saying he. That guy is. He's awesome.
Bobby Bones
The jab.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. The white out. Did you see that? Yeah, yeah. Where he's like. Oh, it wasn't really. Like, they use it as an effect, but, like, it didn't really affect us.
Bobby Bones
Didn't really affect us.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Love it.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And Oregon's in the white.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That's what I was. Okay. First thing I thought of, I turned the game on was like, why is Oregon in the white on a Penn State whiteout?
Bobby Bones
So I thought the same thing. And what I thought was, it's confusing to see all the white if all your team's white. It would be like. Do you remember when I said if you wear camouflage jerseys.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And somebody DM me and said, Boise State did that with blue on blue turf, where they had one of their guys lay on the ground and you didn't see them. And he jumped up and caught a ball.
Eddie
So I thought, he's like a snake.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And that's what I thought. Like, could you do camouflage jersey, helmet? But I think it's like a reverse. Like, all. All white. And then if you're in white, it looks like you can't differentiate your players from the crowd at times. I don't. I don't know that that's true.
Eddie
Do you all know how they pick the colors? Like, is it.
Bobby Bones
Well, that's. That's their Main color, White and purple. White and blue.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Blue.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Colorblind blue.
Eddie
Yeah, but like, Oregon. Like, so. So, like, if they're coming to town.
Bobby Bones
They have to be white. They're the away team.
Eddie
Okay. They always have to be white. Got it. Cool. Cool jerseys, though.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I mean, they're always got the best.
Eddie
Dude, they must have like 10 alternate.
Bobby Bones
Oh, you know, more than that.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Like 80 something. Yeah.
Eddie
Amazing.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm 99. Sure. The away team is always white.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, I. I think they have to have like, their main color has to be white.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Eddie
And that's combination.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That may be.
Bobby Bones
That's.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That's college.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dan Lanning's awesome. I saw F show.
Eddie
Hey, you still. You still text? You text him at all?
Bobby Bones
No, but I will right now.
Eddie
Dude, you got to text him right now.
Bobby Bones
Yes, me too.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
I. I don't text him hardly ever. But what should I say?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Hey, are you going crack?
Eddie
Eddie thinks you're crazy.
Bobby Bones
I'm going to say you had me pumped last night. It's good.
Eddie
It's not too crazy. Perfectly normal text. Oh, you're still typing, though.
Bobby Bones
I'm not just gonna leave one sentence.
Eddie
What else are you saying?
Bobby Bones
I'll tell you. I gotta sign it, though, because I don't know that he has my number in his phone. I mean. Yeah, who knows?
Eddie
You going Bobby or Bobby Bones?
Bobby Bones
Bobby Bones. Because you may not know who I am. Okay, but we. We text. But you had a.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
He had a whole package for you last year.
Bobby Bones
No, I know we text, but it could be one of those that he has to, like, scroll up if he didn't save number.
Eddie
Just a number.
Bobby Bones
I said. You had me pump last night. Such an intense game. Way grass, coach.
Eddie
That's perfect.
Bobby Bones
Perfect.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Eddie and I over here.
Bobby Bones
Like, dude, that was sick, dude.
Eddie
I wouldn't know how to do it.
Bobby Bones
You're my hero. I love you.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Here's a selfie of me.
Eddie
Unsend. Unsend.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Unsend.
Bobby Bones
That's funny.

Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Eddie
Is it a. I don't even. Because we had a rider cup.
Bobby Bones
You don't?
Eddie
No. I don't understand.
Bobby Bones
The scoring system's weird if you don't know it.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
It's can. The halves are what confuses me.
Bobby Bones
A half is just tie.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
The tie. Okay.
Eddie
And then all the different games, the foursomes and the swinging and the.
Bobby Bones
No, no, that's a different thing.
Eddie
All the different games they play are so weird.
Bobby Bones
So we had to get to 14 and a half. They only had to get to 14 because they have it. But it looks like it could be over. Let me take a look.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, yeah, you're defeat you 15 to 13.
Bobby Bones
Oh, wow.
Eddie
Closer.
Bobby Bones
We made a run in the singles today. We made a run, but that is so intense.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Eddie
Was it all the yelling?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Is that a normal thing?
Bobby Bones
Ish.
Eddie
Like, like. Because I. When's the last time?
Bobby Bones
It's always rowdy and it's every. Every other round and it's every two years.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Okay.
Bobby Bones
So it's been four years since we.
Eddie
Played here, and so it's fair game. You're there. You can. I even saw, like, the. One of the mcs had to, like, step down because Heather.
Bobby Bones
Heather McDonald or what's her name, Mike, the comedian. Heather McMahon. Heather McMahon.
Eddie
She was like.
Bobby Bones
She was like f. Rory.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, really?
Bobby Bones
Ferrari yelled fu at the crowd.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I did see that clip. I did see that clip. I saw cops, like, getting involved too. Is that because of the crowd?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, the crowd was out of control.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Wow.
Bobby Bones
And Trump was there for one of the days.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, I did see that. Behind the bull.
Bobby Bones
He walked bright. He walked Bryson out. So it's. I don't think it's as cool as some people do because it. It's not like a real. It's not like a major, but some people love it. And I get. I mean, I'm not. I'm not pissing anybody's Cheerio. Cheerios. I think it's awesome. But to me, I didn't. I watched like, a little bit of it. I'd rather watch football. Yeah.
Eddie
I watched on Thursday.
Bobby Bones
And we love golf.
Eddie
We love watching. Watching golf.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
But once football season starts, golf, it's like.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
But some people do root like it's the Olympics or something.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's cool. But it's a big deal. I mean, it really is a big deal. Because then they argue who's going to be the captain? Is the captain going to play? Who's going to be on the team?
Eddie
And ours was Keegan.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And he was good enough to play, and he still chose not to.
Eddie
Just walked around with a little walkie talkie.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, that's cool.
Eddie
Pretty awesome. He was all over the place, too. He'd go to like one green and then walk to another green.
Bobby Bones
And that's how I was playing against Eddie.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Those New York fans. Like, I'd do something good. He'd be like, f you. We did our tournament.
Eddie
Not true. All I would say is that's in the water.
Bobby Bones
Yes, exactly. Water.
Eddie
Just in case. Well, because you can't really see. So I had to tell you it was in the water.
Bobby Bones
Exactly.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, that was nice, dude.
Bobby Bones
Kevin's put together his top five most overhyped quarterbacks in college football.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yep. Coming into the year.
Bobby Bones
This year.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Number five.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Number five is Lenora Sellers from South Carolina.
Bobby Bones
Can I say that he's hurt? Been hurt?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Well, that's part of the reason, though.
Bobby Bones
Can you be overhyped if you're injured?
Eddie
Because that's not fair.
Bobby Bones
You don't even have a chance to get to the height.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
But the injuries go back to last year, too. He was injured last year. So part of the overhype is how can you be so hyped in the number one, number one pick if you can't even stay on the field?
Bobby Bones
I think that's a good argument. If there's like three seasons of that.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
So he's got one more to go.
Bobby Bones
I think he goes pro anyway, but. You do?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
I think he has all the tools. He'll pro. I think he probably goes pro. I guess if he has a further disappointing season with more injuries. The reason I guess he could stay is they do get paid a lot in three years ago. Three to infinity. Years ago. He's gone.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
But, yeah, there's a chance. I guess there's a chance he stays.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
It depends how their year goes, too. I feel like they've already lost a couple games.
Bobby Bones
I'm not hating on it. Lenore Sellers are number five. You're using injuries. Okay.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
And then number four, it should maybe be higher, people think. But Arch Manning.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I don't know how to say number one.
Eddie
That should be one.
Bobby Bones
But it's your list.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Thank you, guys. Thank you.
Eddie
Whatever you want.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
But the reason it's not number one is because it's. It's kind of also the media's fault for hyping him.
Bobby Bones
But that's who Hypes is.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
The media.
Bobby Bones
Yes. Yeah, but media is all the hyping.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
But it's not like he's out here like, oh, I'm the best. I'm this, I'm that. Like, everyone's saying, oh, he's so good. Texas people are saying, oh, my gosh. You see this guy in camp, like, and then he goes out and plays. It's like, well, he never really played. Now it's like, oh, well, he never really played before. So that's probably why he's not doing so well. It's like, well, then why did he have all this hype?
Bobby Bones
I feel like the media is who hypes. But, hey, your list.
Eddie
Or, hey, man, you do you.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Thanks, guys.
Bobby Bones
Number three.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Number three, Drew Aller. Now this guy. Penn State, they just can't get it done. James Franklin's right there with them, but they easily could have came back, won that game. They had their chances. And what does he do? Throw another pick?
Eddie
He looks a good quarterback, though.
Bobby Bones
He looks 12, though, without his faces. Like, I think he's actually a kid. I think he is one of those Disney movies. Yeah. Yeah, he looks. And we're getting older, but, man, he looks like a child.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. Sometimes he just looks scared back there.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
And I'm like, I don't know. That's gonna last in the NFL.
Bobby Bones
All right, number two.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Number two, Garrett Nussmeier over at lsu. Talked about him a little bit. LSU ruggling.
Bobby Bones
I think he's hurt.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
And I liked him the most. Probably coming in, I was like, this kid is going to be good. LSU's offense is going to be good.
Bobby Bones
And on Netflix, any given Saturday.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yes.
Bobby Bones
We let him hype us up to think he was going to be awesome.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yes. He'd come back. Right.
Eddie
Oh, so Netflix also hypes up not just the media.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
That's part of the Media, though.
Eddie
Oh, that's true. Streaming service.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Come on. It's all.
Bobby Bones
That is media.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
It's all one.
Bobby Bones
Digital media.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Digital media, dude. Number one, Cade Clubnik over at Clemson. Bobby will probably like this one, right?
Bobby Bones
Bad, bad, bad. He had a really good game in a loss at Austin last year in the College Football Playoff.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And they lost. That was the first round of the cfp, right?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I think second round.
Bobby Bones
Second round.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And he looked good in that loss and he was highly recruited, so everybody thought it's time. But. Yeah, no, it's. It's been real bad.
Brandon Marcelo
Really bad.
Bobby Bones
It's been real bad for the whole team, for the coach.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
And they have talent. Everyone's talking about how good their team was this year. And then it's. If your quarterback was that hyped and then he can't even get it done.
Bobby Bones
And it's like, okay, you know who it sucks for? Oklahoma. Because they have a really great season. They're undefeated and their quarterback material goes out. Had to have hand surgery. Now he may only be gone two games and he was out. He was out this week. Bye week. Next week, Oakland plays Kent State. The week after that, though, they play Texas.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, yeah.
Eddie
Is that non throwing hand?
Bobby Bones
No, it's throwing hands. It's throwing hand. So he may be back for the game. After Texas, I root for Oklahoma, South Carolina. Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Then Ole Miss, then Tennessee, then.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Oh, my gosh. He's got to come back.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. The SEC is. It's a nightmare forever. Especially when you're one of the bad teams, because all the teams are good. Like, if you're one of the bad teams, there are no other bad teams. If you're Arkansas or Kentucky, there are no Arkansas or Kentucky's to play. Because you're them.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
If tough. Yeah. That's why the teams that are the worst always have the hardest schedules because they can't play themselves. Or a team like Georgia, they have a hard schedule, but they also get to play the bad teams. They get to play Arkansas and Kentucky.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah. Or Vanderbilt's. Not one of those teams anymore.
Eddie
No, not anymore.
Bobby Bones
Neither is Mississippi State.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Neither.
Brandon Marcelo
They almost won.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah, they should have. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
What a game.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Eddie
That was another overtime.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Legit. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yes. What a game. And that was a double overtime, if I'm correct.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I know it was overtime.
Eddie
Oh, yeah. It was double because I think it was. They were going for the two.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, they missed the two. I didn't make a note on that, but I'm pretty sure it was double overtime.
Eddie
And I think There were five overtimes.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Just one overtime.
Bobby Bones
Are you sure?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yep.
Brian Christopher
What game was.
Eddie
What game are they going for?
Bobby Bones
The two.
Eddie
Oregon.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
No, I think they were just going for the touchdown because Tennessee scored first. A touchdown? Because it says in overtime. Tennessee had seven. They had zero.
Eddie
Well, one of them was going for the two. Oh, maybe it might have been Florida.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
State, but it was on the go. Like, they were close. They were, like, on the two or three yard line.
Eddie
Okay.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Eddie
I'm blurring a lot, dude.
Bobby Bones
I'm blurring.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
There's a lot of overtime.
Eddie
I'm blurring five overtime games this week.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And whenever the Eagles blocked that punt at the very first of the game, oh, my God. I was like, here we go again.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I know.
Bobby Bones
Like, the last two plays they had were blocks field, gold block, pump block. Let me make sure I didn't miss anything. I seem to be pretty good on notes. And if anything else crazy happens for tonight, we'll just throw up an end after our end. Like tomorrow we have a few minutes. We can do, like, five minutes, and we'll be like, oh, can you believe the Cowboys?
Eddie
Cowboys won. It was crazy. Wow.
Bobby Bones
They had eight onside kicks in a row.
Eddie
Recovered them all, 10 Hail Marys.
Bobby Bones
If we have nothing after this, it was just a normal night. I don't like the double Monday night game.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
I hate that.
Bobby Bones
No, that's this week, right? Yeah, I hate it. Yeah. I also forgot there was a Ireland game this week. I woke up, normal time obviously didn't turn anything on because I knew I had football all day, so I was just, like, gonna have breakfast with my wife. Nothing. And I just clicked to make sure none of my fantasy guys were out. And I saw that I was playing Kenny Gainwell and He had, like, 20 points already.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And I'm like, was there a game last night? And I was like, oh, they played in Europe. Yeah. Yeah. I missed that whole game.
Eddie
Yeah. My wife doesn't like those morning games because she's just like, I went to bed hearing football, now I'm waking up to football.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
That's right. Do you have it?
Bobby Bones
Do you have it in your room? Yeah.
Eddie
Well, in the morning ones, I turn it on. As soon as I wake up, I just turn on the TV in my room and she's like, like, what are you watching? You watching highlights?
Bobby Bones
Nope.
Eddie
They're playing in Ireland.
Bobby Bones
Back on? Yep. Okay. I think that's it. Anybody else have anything else?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
No postseason baseball is coming this week, too.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Excited.
Bobby Bones
Cubs and Padres.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Is that who they play?
Bobby Bones
I think so. I Should look at that. I'm almost positive it is. It just rolled off, Mike. Would you look at that?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
You sounded very confident.
Bobby Bones
I did. Well, then I. Then I regressed.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Just backtrack real quick.
Bobby Bones
You're correct. Okay, then I. Yeah.
Eddie
This is when I start watching baseball.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Eddie
Not just the first innings of baseball games.
Bobby Bones
To see if you hit your bet.
Eddie
Yeah. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
All right, that's it. So I guess we're gonna go. We'll be back later on this week. Thanks to Brandon Marcelo for being on with us. What's crazy, being an Arkansas fan, all. All the fans are gonna be like, let's get Nick Saban. And it's like, guys, you think we're complaining about not having enough nil and you think we're gonna get Nick Saban or Jon Gruden also? I don't think I really want Jon Gruden. I think that's a splash higher. That's not really a long term solution.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And if Gruden wins this lawsuit against the NFL, he will be back coaching in the NFL again, which I think is really what he wants to do.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So. All right, that's what's up. Thank you guys for being here.
Eddie
Jimmy Johnson come back?
Bobby Bones
I don't think so.
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Tom Landry?
Eddie
No, man.
Bobby Bones
Lou Holt. He was at the Arkansas games.
Eddie
Was he?
Co-host (possibly Eddy)
Yeah.
Eddie
How old is Lou Holt?
Bobby Bones
I'm glad you asked. I just looked it up. 107.
Eddie
That checks.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Really old. Really old. All right, we'll see you guys. Bye, everybody. There it is. Thank you. Theme song written by Bobby Bones. That's me. And performed by Brandon Ray. This lively episode of the 25 Whistles podcast digs into the chaotic weekend in college football, most notably the firing of Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman and the subsequent appointment of Bobby Petrino as interim head coach. The show navigates fan behavior during field-stormings, speculative Arkansas coaching searches, NIL challenges, and throws in smart (and not-so-smart) sports betting tips. Bobby also pitches a creative “revenue-share” NIL business idea and shares the awkwardness of supporting his struggling alma mater.
| Segment Topic | Start | |--------------------------------------------|-------| | Arkansas coach fired / Pittman out | 03:33 | | On Petrino returning | 07:26 | | Coaching search candidates & NIL | 30:47 | | NIL ‘revenue-sharing’ business idea | 43:38 | | College football weekend notes & games | 10:35 | | Fan behavior on the field (flipping off) | 15:52 | | Gambling misadventures | 49:27 | | Innovative broadcast features (booth audio)| 53:02 | | Overhyped QBs discussion | 64:31 | | Closing with Arkansas fan expectations | 71:59 |
True to form, the show blends irreverent sports banter, personal stories, and honest fandom. Bobby’s wry self-deprecation (“I’m not even the whales...but I’ve given hundreds of thousands...”) and the camaraderie among hosts keep things engaging. Tangents about fashion trends, betting incompetence, and even field storming etiquette are sprinkled throughout, all delivered in the casual “fans talking at the bar” vibe.
You’ll be entertained by the candid takes on coaching chaos, sports culture, and the emotional rollercoaster of being a diehard fan. The episode is especially rich for Arkansas fans, college football junkies, gamblers, and those interested in behind-the-scenes sports business conversations.
Follow-up recommendation: Check out future episodes for post-firing Arkansas fallout, and see if Bobby’s NIL investor idea gains any traction!
