This is a podcast called 25 Whistles.
Bobby Bones
Talking football and they all wear a whistle. Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect?
Laura Murray
It's a podcast called 25 Whistles.
Bobby Bones
25 Whistles.
Laura Murray
Ew.
Bobby Bones
Blow it. Hey. So week one is gonna be Patriots and Seahawks. That's fun.
Kevin
Go.
Bobby Bones
Kevin's a massive Patriots fan, so it's fun for us. I think if I'm a Patriots fan, I don't want that because you're get drummed.
Kevin
You think so?
Eddie
I would think so.
Bobby Bones
I guess the benefit is it's week one and everybody's a little off kilter Week one. But the Seahawks are just such a better team. The Patriots, not. They weren't a good team. But there were some things that really fell their way to get to the super bowl, including playing a quarter. Well, the second string quarterback for Denver.
Eddie
Yeah. And off field drama.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. The variable that is not going to die. It's not going to die. So are you excited about that?
Kevin
Yeah, I am excited because that means that if you're playing week one, first game prime time, it means your team is relevant and you are good.
Bobby Bones
It means your team was relevant last year for sure. Because a lot of times it is the super bowl repeat, right?
Eddie
I don't know.
Bobby Bones
A lot of times it's either the super bowl repeat or like one of the champions. So that's fun. I, I just kind of felt bad for Kevin. He's excited about it.
Kevin
Yeah, I'm ready. I, I, I. Because I feel like it's like a revenge game and we have a good shot. To your point, week one, you never know what's going to happen in week one. And they have a new team, we have a new team and I think the Patriots are going to play pissed off this year. I know that the schedule is going to be a lot harder, but man, I'm ready.
Eddie
Hold on. It's a revenge game from the Super Bowl. Can there be a revenge game from the ultimate game?
Bobby Bones
Well, yeah, you lost, so you're gonna get revenge.
Eddie
It's a different stage.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Well, I'm anxious to see if Rabel keeps his job.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
The longer this lingers, the more the chances are he does not remain the coach. I've never thought he wasn't gonna be the coach. I would have said 99% chance he stays the coach. A week after the Rossini stuff, now I'm going to say 68% chance he stays the coach.
Eddie
And what would it be? Just because it's such a distraction from the team.
Bobby Bones
There's just new stuff that keeps coming up, and no owner wants a distraction. Luckily for him, he went to the super bowl last year. Yeah, I think had they fell out in the wild car round, I don't think he'd have his job still. Do you, Kevin?
Kevin
No, I don't think so either. Especially if they miss the playoffs.
Bobby Bones
I.
Kevin
It just. It's too much. It really is. It just keeps coming and coming. I pray. I wake up every day and I pray that there's no more photos being leaked today so he can keep his job and our team can be good.
Bobby Bones
Did you see the picture of her kissing her husband?
Kevin
I did on Mother's Day.
Eddie
Oh, recent picture.
Bobby Bones
It was for sure set up.
Eddie
Huh. But it was taken by a bystander in public.
Bobby Bones
It's an interesting person to take it. Yeah, yeah. Yes, yes.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
Bystander.
Eddie
But.
Laura Murray
But.
Eddie
But they kind of staged it to where they knew they were being looked at.
Bobby Bones
Like, you could see the wedding ring on. He was kissing her on the mouth. His hat was backwards, so you could see his face.
Kevin
She had a kid in her hands.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I didn't remember that part.
Kevin
Yeah, she had one kid. She was holding one kid.
Laura Murray
So.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I hope he gets to keep his job. I hope the Rossini family stays together and b. And is stronger from it.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
I hope the story goes away.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
There was a time when I was entertained by it. Now I feel bad for them.
Eddie
Yeah, man, I'm with you now. It's like, woof. We're real life. It was real life to begin with, but for that kind of stuff, I like to see a glimpse of it and then go on and fix it.
Bobby Bones
I think the two reasons that it continues to exist are. Number one, they obviously lied about it at the beginning because they released that statement and they were like, no girls trip driving up. We just happen to see each other, two old friends. this point, we can all agree that's a blatant lie, Right?
Eddie
Such a lie.
Bobby Bones
And so when you lie, what it does is it encourages people to prove you're lying. So the story continues. It's just festering. Right. So that's one reason that it is still existing. And the second is that TMZ didn't break it. And so now TMZ wants to prove that they still have their chops. Because I believe the New York Post broke the story.
Eddie
Oh, I didn't realize that.
Bobby Bones
And now it's TMZ that continues it because they weren't the breaker of the story. So they want to continue to prove, okay, we didn't break it. But, guys, we're still good at this. I think that's been a part of it, too. Kevin, your thoughts on that?
Kevin
Yeah, that's a good point. I haven't really thought about that, actually, because I know that New York Post did break it, and now everything that has trickled after has been tmz for the most part, I believe. So I haven't even thought about that. And they are ruthless.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And they're. And they're embarrassed because they weren't the ones to break the story. I think they actually passed on the pictures because whomever was shopping them, it was a low number they were shopping them for. I believe, if I read correctly, and I may not have, but I think I did. I think they passed on the pictures, and it ended up being this massive story. And they're like, oh, we look like fools, because that's our beat. Just gossip, cheating celebrities. And we're not the people owning it.
Eddie
So what else is making this story last? Like, is it the fact, too, that this has been going on for so long, that we're finding out that, man, they've been at this forever.
Bobby Bones
If they just came out immediately and they were like, oh, yep, we got caught. That sucks. I'll do better. This story doesn't go past that.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Except in the NFL circle. That's the only place it exists. But it doesn't exist like this because it's not really a pop culture story. You got an NFL coach that's never been in the. In. In popular culture news, and you got someone that's even less famous than him, that's only known in NFL circle. So none of that should have broke and crossed over. And so the reason it did is because they got caught lying about it.
Laura Murray
Y.
Bobby Bones
So, yeah, it's a bizarre story. I'd like for it to go away. I feel bad now. I've been reporting on it way, way, way less because I do feel bad for them. But I now that football season is Starting. You don't think he's going to get that Everywhere he goes?
Eddie
Yeah, Signs.
Bobby Bones
It's going to be everywhere.
Kevin
It'll be brutal.
Eddie
People yelling at him.
Bobby Bones
Anyway, congrats on week one, Kevin.
Kevin
Hey, thanks.
Bobby Bones
Do you guys, and this is a real question, it's not do you want to. Do you plan to go to any games this year?
Eddie
Man, I hadn't planned on it at all. However, when the schedule came out and this just happened to be a thing because my son, it turns 13 in September and all my boys, when they turned 13, we told them like, pick one place in the United States to go that you want to visit and we will take you there. It's kind of like your 13 year old present. You know, you're whatever, you're growing up. Go see the world. So my son had already picked New York City as the place he wants to go when he turns 13. That's in September. He the schedule comes out and the Cowboys are playing the Giants in New York City. And now he's like, dad, do you think we can do this?
Bobby Bones
That would be cool for you too.
Eddie
That would be great. However, is it dangerous in there for visiting teams?
Bobby Bones
No.
Eddie
Like I would never go see him in Philly. Like I would never go see the
Bobby Bones
Cowboys even do that is if you're not fighting anybody, it's not going to be dangerous. The only place I would ever worry of any stadium, of any team, period, in all United States sports, and I wouldn't even worry because I would go. But the only place that I would worry if I were wearing opposing gear, anything bad could happen to me is blank. And it's not Philly.
Eddie
Huh.
Bobby Bones
Where do you think it is, Mike? Tennessee. No, I. SEC fans are awesome. Generally speaking. There's some rotten batches. There's rotten batches everywhere. And usually it's drunkenness, but.
Eddie
Oh, you're not NFL.
Bobby Bones
I'm just any pro sports team.
Eddie
I was thinking like the Raiders, man, in Oakland. That would have been bad for sure.
Bobby Bones
No, they're awesome too. They're just passionate. If you don't try to like fight somebody, you're drunk. Nobody really messes with folks.
Eddie
Okay, so I'm thinking college. Now, where would it be dangerous? I don't know.
Bobby Bones
It's not college. I don't feel like no colleges are awesome. I've been to some situations. Texas, they were really rude to me, but they were really drunk. And we were winning like all. And I was seated in a weird place. Like there were a lot of factors that went down for that to happen, but it's rare. But the only place I would worry about. So, Kevin, you wanna take a shot?
Kevin
Yeah. Dodger Stadium.
Bobby Bones
That's exactly it.
Eddie
Dodgers.
Bobby Bones
If I were rooting for the opposing team and I had on gear, let's just say I have San Francisco Giants gear on and I'm walking out, that's the only place I would be. Like, I should just kind of look around.
Eddie
Yeah. Really?
Bobby Bones
That's it. Wow. I can get that live all the pro sports. But have you been to a game?
Eddie
Never been, but. And when I watch on tv, I guess I really don't see a lot of visiting jerseys.
Bobby Bones
No, I think it's just what you hear about afterward in, like, the parking lots. Because a lot of those fights tend to be after the games in the parking lots. And it also is probably drunk people. It's probably people that are mouthing, they won, the Dodgers, lost. You got fan. But that's the only place I would be concerned.
Eddie
I don't know. Maybe my Instagram algorithm is all in fights. And I'm getting a lot of fights at sports places.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
People drink and they don't care. Kids are around. So I'm like, man, are they gonna beat me up in front of my kid if I go to a Giants game?
Bobby Bones
But they're not if you don't get mouthy back.
Eddie
Cause that would be the worst. My dad would be like, my dad got his butt kicked.
Bobby Bones
Kevin, you live in Southern California. Does the Dodgers thing make sense to you?
Kevin
Yeah, absolutely. I actually did go to a 2018 World Series game when they're playing the Red Sox. I think it's game four, I believe. And the Red Sox came back and won that game. Dodgers fans were pissed. And I knew. My dad knew and our friend knew, like, don't say anything while walking out. And then there was my drunk brother just sitting there, just screaming, oh, yeah, about those red socks. And we had to tell him so many times, dude, shut up. We're gonna get killed here.
Eddie
Did you get beat up?
Kevin
No, we didn't. But there is definitely some people that you could tell the look in their eye. They wanted to.
Bobby Bones
It's alcohol that does it.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
And then if you're already generally living on edge and then it's the alcohol, and then it's, you're obnoxious while you're drunk because you're just not going to get beat up for wearing another team's uniform walking out of any stadium. You're just not. No one's that mad. It just Picks up. I should say that. That there have been situations where. Where people have walked up and punched people.
Eddie
Oh, and the guy got like that out of nowhere.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But that. That's rare. That's just some scary drunk. Yeah.
Eddie
And that was a Philly fan. Not a Philly. It was. Yeah. As a Eagles fan, so I don't know.
Bobby Bones
I don't know that that's true.
Eddie
I think it was.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I don't know. I don't know a specific instance. I've just heard of those type stories where people just punch.
Eddie
Dude. I remember, and I think he got arrested and everything. It was a bad deal.
Bobby Bones
I think you're just fighting anti Philly right now. More than anything.
Eddie
I'll definitely look at the prices. I mean, seasoned opener in New York against the Cowboys. I feel like that's a pricey ticket, but I'm gonna look into it because that would be amazing for both of us.
Bobby Bones
Something that the UFL is doing, which I like, is that they are allowing refs to be interviewed about questionable calls after games.
Eddie
That's cool. I love that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And remember, the kickoff rule was first, like an XFL rule. And they can use these leagues to test out certain things, see how they do, possibly move them up. It's basically the Taco Bell test kitchen.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
So the ufl, which is pretty cool. They are even during games, sideline reporters can approach the officiating crew and interview them in certain spots of the game. And then referees can explain what actually happened with calls that appear to be controversial. It also gives fans a peek behind the curtain. It gives perspective on the decision making. And then even afterward, they can answer questions about it, which I think is great. And I think in the age of betting, I think this needs to happen. Yes. Pre betting referees are kind of unicorns. Who knows if they're real or not? They're making decisions, they disappear. We don't even know what they look like in real life. Now with betting, I think there needs to be explanations, even on wrong calls, as to, like, what they saw and why. Otherwise, people will go, oh, the gambling is affecting it and it's rigged, because I don't think it is. I think there are certain players that will do things, and we've seen those players get arrested.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Like if it's under two rebounds and somebody puts $1 million on under two rebounds for Terry Rozier.
Eddie
Yeah, that's fishy.
Bobby Bones
And I'm just making up a story here. Yeah. That screams fish. So I do like that.
Eddie
That's really Cool.
Bobby Bones
But.
Eddie
But as fans, man, we have to just take that for what it is. Like, accept it. If a ref says, like, yeah, he didn't catch the ball, like, he didn't have his feet in whatever, then we can no longer argue. No, it was a catch. Like, nah, nah, we lost. Because that call, if he says what it is and everyone agrees, like, we have to just take it for what it is.
Bobby Bones
You think fans are just going to take it for what it is?
Eddie
No, but that's no chance. We should.
Bobby Bones
There's no chance. The other thing was I wanted to acknowledge was Kevin's twins are a year old.
Eddie
Wow.
Bobby Bones
That's wild.
Kevin
Yeah. Crazy. Guys. Time flies. You're already feeling it, I'm sure, man. It's crazy.
Bobby Bones
I saw your Instagram, and at first it was Kevin talking about his babies, and I was like, please don't be one of these influencer type things again. I know.
Kevin
And I.
Bobby Bones
And I'm all for it. Like, do your thing, but a bit. I was like, oh, this kind of. Sometimes I kind of get. It's a little cringey, but. But it's gotta be cringy, right? Do it till it works.
Eddie
Part of it.
Bobby Bones
But I was like, oh, no. And then he's like, they're one. I was like, oh, that's awesome. He's not trying to, like, do bottle station in or whatever he does, but drink station. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Congratulations, man. That's really cool.
Kevin
Thank you.
Robert Smigel
Yeah.
Kevin
It's crazy to think about it's. And I was talking to my wife about it, and it's like they're no longer, you know, eight months old. Eight and a half months old. Now it's like they're a year old. So you put the year on it. Which is just wild to wrap our head around because it seemed like we were never, ever going to get there. And we're here. It's going to take a while to get used to, but it's just crazy to think about.
Eddie
Watch out, though, because some parents still do the. Oh, yeah, my son's 14 months old. I'm like, what is that? 12 plus 2? Oh, okay.
Bobby Bones
You have trouble with math.
Eddie
You have trouble with math because, like, he's right. I love it when you get to that year point because, yeah, my kids won. My kids, too. When they. You get rid of those months, dude, it gets so complicated.
Bobby Bones
Do you have trouble with military time?
Eddie
I don't even try military time.
Bobby Bones
That. That tracks.
Eddie
Do you have anything in military time?
Bobby Bones
No, but if somebody says A time. I know exactly what time it is. If it's like 16, 20. What's that?
Eddie
Give me a second. 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. That's 4 o'. Clock. 4:24, 20. Is that right?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you got there. Yeah, I have to count it out like 19, 17.
Eddie
Oh boy. 16 was 4.
Bobby Bones
So.
Eddie
Seven, which was the second.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, 17.
Eddie
Seven. Yeah. Seven, 17.
Bobby Bones
The easy way to do it is 12, right?
Eddie
Yeah, that's the clock.
Bobby Bones
And then anything plus 12 just starts over at one.
Eddie
Explain that.
Bobby Bones
1300 hours, one O'. Clock.
Eddie
Yeah, one O'.
Bobby Bones
Clock. Yeah. 14, 2, 15, 3 on down. Is that not how it goes in your head?
Eddie
I just have to count it out. I start at 12, but then if you give me a 19, I'm like, oh great.
Bobby Bones
19 minus 12 is.
Eddie
Oh, see, I'd rather go 24 minus. Go to the 24 and then minus 2.
Bobby Bones
You're making it more difficult.
Eddie
Really?
Kevin
I just subtract 2 from it.
Bobby Bones
What do you mean? If it's 19, you just say minus 2 and 17. So I just say 7. So you're doing minus 12 then. Yeah. Hold on.
Kevin
Teaser in my head though.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So if it's 15, we all have a way that works.
Eddie
So it's 15 minus 2. So 5 minus 2 is 3. So it's 3 o'. Clock.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, if you don't. So you'd. You'd really just be doing the two off the back number, not the whole thing.
Eddie
That's legit, Mike. I could do that.
Kevin
I've never heard that.
Bobby Bones
So 2100 hours is okay.
Eddie
21. Oh, negative one.
Bobby Bones
Okay, see, what time is that?
Eddie
Is that 11? No, it's not 11.
Bobby Bones
23 would be 11.
Eddie
Okay. Gosh, it's so hard. And my dumb brother, he like everything in his car, his house, clocks, everything's military time. Like. You're such an idiot.
Bobby Bones
That's awesome, Kevin. Congratulations, man.
Kevin
Thank you.
Bobby Bones
That's super cool. We just did nine weeks this week.
Eddie
Nine weeks, wow. You're still in the weeks.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy because if you say two month in one week, that's too many words.
Eddie
Yes, it is. Minus two.
Bobby Bones
Because I'm not that guy who's going to do the weeks and the months the whole time. But mostly it's like word efficiency.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So yeah, we. We're at nine weeks now.
Eddie
Do you feel like time is flying?
Bobby Bones
I feel like it is snap of a fingers and gone. But there's an element of it that feels like every freaking day is 27 hours long. Yeah, it's Just exhausting. And not like exhausting lifting heavy things, just constant attention. Like, my brain's fried a lot because I used to get off work and take a minute, eat, maybe do some other work. Or if I was like, super fried, 30 minutes, play a little PlayStation, get my mind right before I start back again or go work out. Now it's like, soon as I get off work, I might get to do nothing except go to baby if Caitlin's not feeling well or. And then it's his baby until bedtime. And the days are 100 years long. Feels like, man.
Eddie
My son graduated kindergarten yesterday and they had balloons that said class of 2038.
Bobby Bones
Crazy.
Eddie
And I was like, oh, my gosh, I'm going to be so old when this dude graduates high school.
Bobby Bones
That's what I feel like about picturing my daughter getting older, is that I'm gonna be 100.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
I'm like, they're gonna have to put us in walkers, dude. To go to this graduation,

All right, let's welcome in Laura Murray, NBA writer for the Athletic, based in la. One of the go to reporters when it comes to the Clippers and really anything NBA related. Been covering the NBA for years. Joined the Athletic in 2021 and go check out his writing. It's fantastic. Especially now when it's all NBA. Go to theathletic.com law. Appreciate you coming in. I do want to go first to LeBron. Is he a Laker next year? Does he play in the NBA at all next year?
Laura Murray
And good morning to you guys. I really think LeBron's going to be in the NBA, whether it's with the Lakers. That's what I'm most interested in. I think both sides would be interested in certain conditions. I think that's what the posturing is here. I think the Lakers don't want to pay LeBron like a max player at the age that he's at the phase of his career that he's at. Given the shortcomings that they have, you have to keep in mind, like since the bubble, they've only advanced in the playoffs twice in the last six postseasons and they. And both of those Postseasons ended in sweeps in the conference finals in 2023 and just now in the conference semifinals in 2026. So that's what the Lakers perspective is. And for LeBron, he's still that dude. I mean, he might not be an MVP candidate, he might not be Luca, but that dude just deferred to Austin Reaves, you know what I'm saying? Like, he's, he's a player who is still one of the better players in the NBA, certainly an all star caliber talent, and he could be that to a number of teams in the NBA. I would dare say all, but, you know, we can be reasonable. So he's not going to consider every NBA team and he shouldn't. So I, I think that's, that's the tricky part there. I think both sides in some aspects could use each other and maybe even need each other. But the Lakers aren't trying to pay the most. LeBron and Bron's not trying to pay for the play for the minimum.
Bobby Bones
It seems to me that from very far out that LeBron has a decision to make. Does he want to try to win another championship or does he want to make a lot of money? Because both kind of can't happen. Because if he gets a max deal somewhere, he's going to be taking the lion's share of money, maybe him and one other, one other guy. And that's probably not conducive to having a team that's going to win a championship because he's not going to be the number one guy, possibly number two guy. So would you say that that assessment is accurate? That he has to decide between money and maybe having a shot to win another one?
Laura Murray
I think there's a happy medium. I mean, he's going to get paid. And where the floor is for LeBron, I think is the. Is the question. Again, we're not talking about dude, just saying I'll take the minimum to play. You know, he's. LeBron's never taken a pay cut. Not, not to my recollection. And maybe that's the consideration. It's like how much if, if you look at Tom Brady, and I know LeBron admires Tom Brady, and especially with Tom Brady was able to do not just in his 40s, but in his post New England Patriots career, but playing quarterback in the NFL, it's like, yeah, I'm gonna make this up by just having the talent to play with and obviously being Tom Brady. There, there are options that you have. Does LeBron have that approach? And that is an adjustment that's something that you have to kind of really wrap your mind around. It's like, what are you playing for? How much are you playing for? What's going to be satisfying to you to where you can be happy enough to focus on trying to win that championship. Like LeBron not going to the Sacramento Kings. Like that's what I meant earlier when I was like, look, every team could use him in some aspect, but it's not like we can cut like 40% in the NBA out of that conversation. And so that's, I think that's the biggest thing for LeBron is adjusting to what the adjustment is.
Bobby Bones
It seemed to me like over the last couple years the Lakers, they didn't have a big man like DeAndre Ayton. He ain't it. We were able to see that. And so LeBron had to carry him through the first series, obviously. And the Thunder, they just suffocate you. No one really expected the Lakers to win the series. And it's a 41 year old dude still out there playing like real basketball. Like, like you said, LeBron may not be a top five guy, but he's a top 25 guy still at age 41. But for the Lakers to get a big guy, they need money and they don't have money because they got the three dudes now sucking up all the payroll which are Luka, Austin Reeves and LeBron. So something's got to budge. Right?
Kevin
Right.
Laura Murray
It's not just that it's three dudes either, it's those three dudes. Like you saw what the Oklahoma City Thunder did. Anytime Austin Reeves was in coverage like it was fade on site. So you think that's going to be better with Luka Doncic like you have? The Lakers are setting themselves up to have their two most prominent shot creators be players that they need to protect in one way or the other. The reason the Lakers and people are going to talk about deandre Ayton and the centers and I mean, look, deandre Ayton probably should opt out and see what options he has out there. You know, he's probably better than an $8 million player, but I don't think you'd find a lot of teams willing to trust him on a multi year contract that pays him say 30 million. Right? Like if you really look at it, Aiden's not a bad run protector. He's not a special one, but if he's there, he's okay. Jackson Hayes was decent in a backup role. When the Lakers had issues offensively, it was because one of those dudes is away from the basket, and your low man is someone like Austin Ruiz or Luka Doncic. Like, you're gonna make a lot of layups if that's your last line of defense in a help or rotation situation. And so that's the. That's the. That's the question. It's like, yeah, LeBron can't make a lot given the pay bump that Austin Reeves is about to get, because you have to fill out your roster because you need depth. And it's not just the defense. The Lakers were probably a worse offense than they should have been given to some other parts because of a depth issue. There was a. There's a lack of skill when one of LeBron or Luka or Austin were out. And guess what? There were a lot of games where at least one of those dudes weren't available. That's why it took until March for those dudes to click. And that's why it took LeBron sacrificing and saying, austin, you do your thing as the second guy, and I'll fall back for it to actually, you know, marinate. There's a lot to be considered, and LeBron's contract is the big swing factor.
Bobby Bones
If LeBron doesn't stay with the Lakers, I don't know, to me, Cleveland, Golden State, like, where do you think LeBron would end up or want to play?
Laura Murray
I don't know if he'd want to play, to be honest with you. I'm just being real. Like, I feel like a lot of people are just talking for LeBron, and I'm part of that now, you know? Like, I know that going to Cleveland for him would serve a whole lot more people that aren't named LeBron James. And I think you got to really look at that. It's like, I think everyone looks at LeBron and looks at the stories that they want to tell. And, you know, they did the same thing with J.J. reddick. It's like, J.J. reddick got mad Steve Kerr pet Riley comps, you know, which has said more about the people wanting to write those stories than it did about J.J. redick, you know, and I thought, and still think J.J. redick did really well as head coach this year. He was. He was better, even if the results were pretty similar to the year before. And I think JJ Would tell you that as well. So, like, I don't want to see LeBron James play for the Golden State Warriors. I'll tell you that right now. I don't know if LeBron wants that. Like, People want that because people want to cover the Golden State Warriors, a team that, if you really zoom out, aren't good enough to be given this level of coverage and haven't been for years. So, like, I think it's. It's between the Lakers and the Cavs, to be honest with you, and the Cleveland Cavaliers thing, it's like, it would be easy, but LeBron would have to get there mentally and emotionally to do it. Whereas with the Lakers, you don't have to make those same adjustments. It's just a matter of how much do you want to sacrifice to play with these dudes again? Again. And you know what? The chemistry wasn't that bad. It's just going to be a business thing. Will they handle the business in a way that doesn't cause LeBron James to be like, okay, I gotta not play for these dudes next year?
Bobby Bones
How pumped up were the Clips? They got that five pick.
Laura Murray
They are very excited. I mean, very excited. And they anticipated the chance of excitement. That's what you do when you make a trade of the magnitude that they made in February. It's like, look, there's a slightly less than 50, 50 chance that that's going to come up roses for them. I was sitting there, and I'll tell you, I emotionally was not invested in the lottery like that. Right. You know, and I say emotionally because naturally, I've covered the team for a long time. I think a lot of fans think that if you cover a team, it's because you wore Darius Miles jersey or something like that. And anyone who knows me knows that's not the case. I think people just be projecting. But I've been around those dudes. I've got relationships with that organization, with the players, with the coaches. I'm. I have written critically about them and, And. And they've let me know in certain terms how they felt about what. I got to say some. Sometimes it's agreement, sometimes they need to get over themselves. It is what it is. Like, I don't take it personal, but to see that envelope with the Clippers on put a reaction to me that I've never had before, because I've, you know, I'm from Philly. I moved to LA in 2010 when Alfred Gaminu was their top 10 pick over Paul George, you know, and, like, they've not had a top five pick since Blake Griffin in 2009. Like, the Clippers say what you want about their shortcomings and their lack of postseason success. They have a winning record 15 years in a Row, they have emptied out their asset chest to get a team that only advanced to the conference finals once, and that was with Kawhi Leonard recovering from a ACL tear that the team didn't want to tell us about when it happened. So this is a huge moment for them. It's a big swing point and they are excited. But that also means they have a lot of work to do because if they didn't get that pick, then it would have been like, you know, business as usual. You know, we ain't picking in first round because the Oklahoma City Thunder have their lottery pick. But now it's like you can be excited, but you got to nail this pick or you got to nail the decision that comes with this pick. And looking at some of these dudes, it's a lot that they're going to have to pick between as far as pros and cons.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, probably the best freshman class in college basketball that I've ever seen in my life. At least based on all the criteria they use to rank these guys, right? And they've tiered them out the top four. But even that second tier of like five through nine, they. They would have been top three picks the last three years in the draft. So I feel like you're five, six, seven, eight. Like, you still have a hard decision to make because those are actually really good franchise type ballplayers.
Laura Murray
Well, they're really good players, but I see floor like I see skinny dudes. I see dudes with a lack of explosion. I see dudes with short arms, bad defense, all kinds of things that you need to even the better prospects. And there are guys that I like and there are traits that I like. But then you got to look at your own team like your two best players. One is 34 years old, under league investigation, and has a not great track record of durability and availability. You know, one of the best in the league. But still, that's what we're looking at. How do you support that player? He's not the biggest player in Kawhi Leonard, for those who thought I could possibly talk about anybody else. And then there's Darius Garland, a guy you traded for. And the biggest thing with Darius, besides the durability, availability issues, which I tell you, if Darius Garland was more durable, if you didn't have as many concerns there, he'd probably still be in Cleveland, right? A lot of the dudes that you could say make up the bulk of the depth in this draft of are smaller guards. Like how. Who do you draft that fits in the short term, knowing that the draft is a long term endeavor, that is the biggest question facing the Clippers. Like, there are guys in this draft that can make a real difference down the line. What does that mean for the guys that you have today on your roster?
Bobby Bones
How do you feel about Wimby, where he is on schedule? Ahead of it?
Laura Murray
I would say a little bit ahead of it.
Eddie
Yeah.
Laura Murray
I mean, Wemmy hasn't even gotten the rookie scale extension yet that's coming, you know, after the season. Like, this is his first playoff run. And it's not a playoff run where they don't have expectations and they're. I mean, these dudes could win a championship. They played like that all regular season. They beat the best teams regularly all regular season. And your only question, was it just a matter of the quote, unquote experience? And I love this series with the Minnesota Timberwolves because Minnesota Timberwolves have made a living the last two years of beating teams that people didn't trust him to beat, both because of the makeup of their current team as well as the way we talk about the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are obviously a team that win 13 years without playoff run. They squandered most of Kevin Garnett's career. These aren't those Timberwolves like the Timberwolves are going to. They know who they are at this time of the year. And I'm so sad for the Timberwolves because obviously physically they're not the best version of themselves. But you know what? A lot of teams are dealing with that. And the Timberwolves, I remember them being down 3, 2 in the conference semifinals and beating the defending champs. That was just two years ago. That's going to be the test. Can Victor Wembanyama in the San Antonio sp, the spurs close out a team that is not dead until they're dead. But I, I was, I was talking about this recently. I do not want to get used to taking Victor Wembanyama for granted. Like, we're seeing things that you have to really do some yoga, Bikram, stretching, to compare him to contemporaries, compare him to dudes from previous generations playing a game that ain't being played today. So, yeah, I would say he, he's ahead. Even with everything that has come with the expectations regarding Victor Wembanyama and the takeover that we all expected when he was drafted, what do you think the
Bobby Bones
skill set is he can improve on in the off season as he goes from this season and next?
Laura Murray
That's the thing I'M most excited about because as great as he is now being an MVP finalist, there are things that you know he can be better at. Like he's a good shooter. I wouldn't consider him a great shooter. Right. Like, this is a dude who. I mean, the Timbers are in this series still because Victor missed all eight three pointers that he took, which is two problems. That's a shot selection thing. Like, I'm gracious that a guy with that level of not just size but the score skill to put the ball on the floor and get to his spots would choose to have half of his shot attempts come 23ft from the basket. So you know, Victor is going to get better with that part of it. That's two things. Just a shooting skill as well as the shot selection, the ability to put the level of pressure offensively on a defense. And I think he can still be a better playmaker. I think he's. The turnovers went down significantly and the big part of that is the ball is in the hands of so many of those guards, you know, and they all do different things. I was not seeing how those guards were all going to find their role and. And all play well. But between the Aaron Fox, who you notice how he closes really well, and Dylan Harper, he comes in and. And he gives them that different dynamic off the bench. And Stefan Castle, he actually has been the guy to soak up more of the ball handling and that has Fox taking the real back seat. Wemby, again, he doesn't have the ball in his hands as much. But I still think Wemby can still be a better playmaker, better decision maker. I mean, a lot of it is just what it comes down to how he is used and what he gets out of himself offensively. Like, this is a guy who could average 30. This is a guy who could average more assists. This is a guy who could be even cleaner with his shots and he's got his whole career to do all that.
Bobby Bones
Law, really appreciate the time and the insight and you guys, not only can you read him on the athletic, but you can follow him at Law Murray, the nu. But appreciate it, really love your stuff now especially we're in the weeds of it. So thanks for taking some time with us.
Laura Murray
Hey, thank you so much, man. Have a great one.
Bobby Bones
See you. Law.

You think the president.

Bobby Bones
So the NFL has put out all the international games for next year. Which one would you like to go to most?
Eddie
You know my answer.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, but it's not really about the team. It's like the city.
Eddie
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Bones
I don't do Cowboys. You can't do Cowboys.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
That's your favorite team. Because we could say Cowboys in McAllen, Texas, and you pick that one.
Eddie
Dude, that would be a dream game. Where would they do that, though?
Bobby Bones
The high school stadium.
Eddie
McAllen High School Stadium. It seats 200 people.
Bobby Bones
That'd be pretty cool, though. It's like the Savannah Bananas. They were going around playing pop up games. They got in a bus and they drove around like, we're gonna play this high school stadium. Everybody meet us there.
Eddie
That's cool.
Bobby Bones
What if the Cowboys did that Be amazing. That would be great.
Eddie
My whole family, aunts, uncles, cousins, they would love it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. You wouldn't get in, though.
Eddie
What do you mean?
Bobby Bones
Not all those people. It's hard to get in. It's 200 people.
Eddie
I'm not worried about them. I'm worried about me. Oh, and we got connections.
Bobby Bones
Okay, here we go. Week one 49ers at RAMS in Melbourne, Australia. One out of ten. How much would like to go one.
Eddie
Wow.
Bobby Bones
Australia's awesome.
Eddie
Yeah, I know, but it's a long flight. It's. That's a commitment.
Bobby Bones
A lot of these are going to be pretty long. I'm going to go. Okay. I'll factor that in.6 out of 10 on the Melbourne, but that's also going to be a good game.
Eddie
Did you go to Melbourne?
Bobby Bones
No.
Eddie
You went to Sydney?
Kevin
Yep.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I think the game, though, is good because some of these games, if it's like Jacksonville versus the Jacksonville B team. Right, right. That's usually what happens sometimes.
Eddie
Browns.
Bobby Bones
Kevin, what about that game?
Kevin
Yeah, that's a. That's like an eight for me.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Kevin
I really want to go to Australia. I've never been so that on top of the good game I'm in, Eddie
Bobby Bones
is going to recuse himself from this one. The Ravens vs. The Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rio de Janeiro.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Kevin.
Kevin
Yeah, man. That's a nine or a ten for me.
Eddie
Just go ten, dude.
Bobby Bones
It's a five for me.
Eddie
Why? Oh, you scared of Rio?
Laura Murray
No.
Bobby Bones
South America? Not my thing,
Eddie
dude. It's beautiful over there, though. You have beaches, jungles.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I've been Mountains. But you've never even been to Brazil. No, but I've been to South America. You've never even been, and you're trying to tell me what South America's like.
Eddie
But there's no way. There's no way.
Bobby Bones
I have been.
Eddie
I. I know, but there's no way. All of South America looks the same.
Bobby Bones
But everything you just said was in Costa Rica as well. But. But I've literally been.
Eddie
Yeah, I've never been. Yeah, not even close.
Bobby Bones
McAllen's closest, probably now. You went to Mexico.
Eddie
Yeah, but that'd be close to Central America.
Bobby Bones
Indianapolis Colts and Washington commanders in London. 2. London's cool, but that's not the game I want to go see in London.
Eddie
Nah, don't like those teams. And then London.
Bobby Bones
Really?
Eddie
Like my wife's English, I guess.
Bobby Bones
But, like, you'd like London, though.
Eddie
Is it cool?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, London's awesome.
Eddie
Really?
Bobby Bones
The food's fair. It's always rainy, but everything's so old, and it's really cool. Like, all the famous stuff you've ever seen through pictures, you see them all there. Just walking around London.
Eddie
That's pretty cool.
Bobby Bones
Kevin, you've been to London, right?
Kevin
Yeah, I've been a couple times. I'm not a big fan of London.
Bobby Bones
Probably because you've been a couple times. I bet the first time you went, you were like, this is crazy. They fish and chips.
Kevin
Yeah, that is true.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Kevin
I mean, like, Big Ben and all that is really cool to see, but it almost seems like a. Like a la Europe or something. It's a lot of money there. A lot of rich people there.
Bobby Bones
Massive. Yeah.
Eddie
I feel like I would expect everything to be old, but I know that it's modernized, you know, like parts.
Bobby Bones
But do you walk in a building from 1200?
Eddie
Right. But isn't it next to a skyscraper that was built last year?
Bobby Bones
No, not really. Oh, it's like different parts.
Eddie
Oh, okay. Okay.
Bobby Bones
I can understand. If you go to London three times, you're like, I'm over it. Because it's a massive city. To me, the first time I went was super cool because it's just stuff I'd seen on television.
Eddie
Is that where, like, the Mona Lisa is and everything?
Bobby Bones
No, the Mona Lisa is in Paris.
Eddie
Okay. What's. What's cool in London other than the big clock, Big Ben and the old buildings?
Bobby Bones
It's cool.
Eddie
The freaking King and Queen, Buckingham Palace.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy to watch the guards stand there.
Eddie
I bet that's cool.
Bobby Bones
The. That Ferris wheel. Ferris wheel that goes around.
Eddie
Seen it?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Yeah.
Eddie
Pretty cool, big guy.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Is that what it's called?
Kevin
I think the big eye is what it's called.
Bobby Bones
Yep. Next up, Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
Eddie
Same.
Bobby Bones
I'd. I'd rather go watch the Colts and Commanders than that game the next. Next up, Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
Eddie
Dude, the Jaguars are just gonna stay in London.
Bobby Bones
They live over there, dude. Man, that game sucks, too.
Kevin
Getting worse.
Bobby Bones
The Steelers and Saints in Paris.
Eddie
That sounds cool. That sounds cool. I'll give that a six.
Bobby Bones
Saints kind of blow. Steelers mid blow. Paris. Maybe my second favorite city I've ever been to out of America.
Eddie
I've heard you say that. So I feel like I really need
Bobby Bones
to see Paris, Kevin.
Kevin
Yeah, it's up there. The only reason it's not higher than the Brazil one is because I've been to Paris. But to your point, I love Paris. Paris is awesome.
Bobby Bones
Cincinnati versus Atlanta and Madrid.
Eddie
Yes. 10. Give me a 10. That's my homeland, Garcia's, dude. We all came from Spain.
Bobby Bones
And you like the game?
Eddie
Nah, I don't care about the game. I just want to go to Spain.
Bobby Bones
I'll go. I've never been. I go seven. Kevin.
Kevin
Yeah. Six and a half.
Bobby Bones
You've been in Madrid?
Kevin
Yeah, just real quick weekend.
Eddie
What's that like, Kevin from Barcelona? A bunch of me's running around,
Kevin
actually. No, A. Spain. It's not. It's not Mexico, but it is Spain. But Barcelona is better because you're on the beach. Like, Madrid is cool, but it's not the beach, you know, like, capital.
Bobby Bones
Right?
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
How's the food over there? Is it, like, good food?
Kevin
Oh, yeah, yeah, it's really good. But it does. It's the. The tapas everywhere you go. You know, you get the paella and the tapas everywhere. So it's not like a big burrito or something like that. It's more just finger food.
Bobby Bones
Did you know what tapas were that.
Eddie
That's the individual, right?
Bobby Bones
Small plates?
Eddie
Yeah, you get, like, individual, like, taco.
Bobby Bones
No, small plates.
Eddie
What do you mean?
Kevin
Like appetizers.
Eddie
Oh, like, okay. Yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
So it's not one, but.
Eddie
Yeah, but what did he expect? Like, burritos? I didn't think that was Spanish.
Bobby Bones
No, he said, like, you and you want burritos. So he's like. He's like, hey, dude, it's not burritos.
Eddie
I know that, dude. It's Spain. It's not Mexico.
Bobby Bones
The Patriots. Week 10. The Patriots vs. The Detroit Lions in Munich, Germany.
Eddie
That'd be cool. I mean, I think that'd be cool, I think. Germany? You've been to Germany?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Best hot dog ever had.
Eddie
That's right.
Bobby Bones
Brief. No, we stayed the night in Germany. On edge. France. Germany across the border. Stayed there, so it felt very French. German. But then we stopped in Munich. I think I'd like to spend more time in Germany, so. Yeah, that's cool, too.
Eddie
Seven and the game sounds pretty good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. The game also would matter to the Patriots and Lions. Kevin.
Kevin
Yeah, that's a good one. I've actually been to that stadium, too. I watched a soccer game there. Bayern Munich game.
Laura Murray
It was awesome.
Eddie
Guy's so cultured.
Bobby Bones
He lived over there.
Eddie
Yeah, he, like, went to school there.
Bobby Bones
That's what I'm saying.
Eddie
But. But how do you, like, go to school in. Where'd you go to school, Kevin?
Kevin
Barcelona. Oh, in Spain, three months. And I've been to Europe, like, a couple times other than that. But you can bounce around over there, no problem.
Bobby Bones
It's like going state to state there. Yeah.
Eddie
I don't realize.
Bobby Bones
Even smaller than.
Eddie
Everything's so close.
Kevin
Yeah. Trained everywhere. You wake up, you're in another country. It's awesome.
Bobby Bones
It'd be like in the Northeast. If you're in New York, you want to go to Connecticut. It's similar.
Eddie
Ish to that Pennsylvania right there.
Bobby Bones
Unless you're in Ireland and you can't get anywhere because I made that mistake.
Eddie
And that's an island.
Bobby Bones
That's an island. You gotta get on an airplane.
Eddie
Got it.
Bobby Bones
Vikings and 49ers in Mexico City.
Laura Murray
Ooh.
Bobby Bones
0.
Eddie
0. That's a good game, though.
Bobby Bones

Eddie
Dude, Mexico City is crazy. I'm telling you. I went to a Cowboys game there. Cowboys vs. The Raiders in Mexico City. Estadio Esteca, I think, is the name of the stadium. Ricky Martin sang the national anthem. Dude, it was crazy. And then I remember I told you this story, but I remember they were throwing, like. I don't know, something happened, like a bad call or something on the field, and they started throwing water bottles, like, down. You know, people in the top, throwing them down the field. And whoever I was with, he's from Mexico, friend of the family. He's like, get down. Cover yourself. I'm like, why? It's just water. Like, it's not water.
Bobby Bones
Pee.
Eddie
It was pee. They would pee in bottles and then chunk it. So different world, man. All right.
Bobby Bones
Pick one of all those. Hopefully you guys remembered. Which one would you go to?
Eddie
I'm going to Espana. I forget the game. I think it's Atlanta and Cincinnati. Cincinnati.
Bobby Bones
That's a Per. That's maybe the closest one to us.
Eddie
Spain.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's right there. Kevin, you.
Kevin
Yeah. I hate to say this, but I gotta go. Ravens, Cowboys in. In Brazil.
Bobby Bones
Let's go.
Kevin
Great area. Never been, so that'd be awesome.
Eddie
And it's not during Rio, but like, I'm sure they party hard down there.
Bobby Bones
I'm going to go.
Eddie
You're like, I watch them all from tv.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. If I'm factoring in my wife going, we'd go to Paris. Cause that's a close one and you love it already. It's great. But I think I'd probably go because of the game. And if it was just me by myself. To the Patriots and Lions in Munich, Germany.
Kevin
Nice.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And I'd put so many wieners in my mouth.
Eddie
Get that hot dog.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. It'd be non stop. We need it.
Eddie
Like.
Kevin
Ah.
Eddie
You know what I really like out of all those trips is to see the jersey situation. Like, I have a theory that they're giving away those jerseys at the door.
Bobby Bones
All the different.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Teams.
Eddie
Because every time they show the crowd, they're wearing every single jersey and they look like they're just kind of like. Like they got free tickets to the show.
Bobby Bones
My theory is there are a bunch of NFL fans over there for a lot of different teams, but their team's not coming and they still want to go to the game. So they just wear the jersey of the team they have.
Eddie
Yeah, that would. That would be the normal.
Bobby Bones
That would be my theory. Yeah.
Eddie
I feel like there's some of the door like, oh, never watch football here.
Bobby Bones
Here's.
Eddie
This is Cincinnati Bengals outside. Yeah. Wear it.
Bobby Bones
It's somebody with a clipboard, like. All right, we got 17 Cincinnati jerseys out there. All right, open the Jaguar box up. What team do you think has the worst jersey helmet? Like the ugly. I was thinking about this yesterday.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
And I think a little bit of it too is like, if you meet somebody in life and you don't like them, their name is kind of spoiled on the list of good names because you associate that name with that person. So let's say I love the name Benji. And I was like, man, Benji, it's a great name. But there's this dude named Benji that beat me up all the time. So now I kind of hate the name Benji because that dude was a douchebag.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I kind of feel like I'm letting that seep into what I think is the ugliest jersey logo. Because if they lose a lot, I think that affects it. So. Because My number one was the Cardinals and I love red. But I think the Cardinals have the worst logo, full jersey situation. The bird head, the Cardinals, the Browns.
Eddie
That's. I was going to pick the Browns because it's just an orange helmet and then their jersey is brown.
Bobby Bones
Brown. I do like the simplicity of it.
Eddie
There's nothing to it. They might have a band on their arm that's orange. Maybe.
Bobby Bones
I do like that little elf they have in the field.
Eddie
Elf?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. 50 yard line. They put the elf out there for a while.
Eddie
I don't think I've ever seen that the Browns have an elf.
Bobby Bones
Look it up.
Kevin
The fans voted on it. I think it's Brownie the Elf.
Eddie
Really? And he sits on the field.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And I think it's old. Mike, would you give us the story of Brownie the Elf dating back to 1946. The Mach. I can't say that word.
Kevin
Mischievous folklore characters inspired team.
Bobby Bones
My ads. Generic thing. Yeah. So creepy little guy back from the 40s, huh? And they put it last year and I think they removed it after a while. But I like that. Although it's not on the helmet. I at least like the Browns because they're not trying. And the logo didn't end up bad because they were trying too hard. Where I feel like the Jacksonville Jaguars. That one kind of sucks. That's ugly.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I don't like Jacksonville. The colors. When they win though, it's cooler.
Eddie
You don't like that teal color?
Bobby Bones
Nah, I like the color.
Eddie
I kind of like that.
Bobby Bones
I'm going Cardinals, Jaguars. I don't like the Seahawks either.
Eddie
Oh, Seahawks is so cool.
Bobby Bones
I think they're lame.
Eddie
That logo and I'm. The new jerseys are awesome. Like, well, the. The latest.
Bobby Bones
I need to see them.
Eddie
They got the little checkered, almost like iridescent. It's like dark, dark. I don't know, is it dark blue or dark green?
Bobby Bones
Also, I might just hate the colors too.
Eddie
I think they're so cool.
Bobby Bones
But I'm going, these are the bad ones. To me, the Cardinals, the Browns, Jacksonville and the Seahawks. Three of those four have been pretty much perennial losers, so that could affect it. Also, I just don't like green. Like, if I were a big, high rated five star basketball player, I'm not going to play for a green school. I don't care. I don't care if Michigan State's like, we got you.
Eddie
Come on.
Bobby Bones
More nil money. I'm not going to a green school.
Eddie
That's funny.
Bobby Bones
I think green could affect it.
Eddie
Ugliest ones Eddie, I think the Eagles are ugly.
Bobby Bones
Okay. You hate the Eagles, though. That's just the Cowboys. Rival.
Eddie
Disgusting is what it is.
Bobby Bones
I hate green. I don't hate the Eagles.
Eddie
You don't?
Bobby Bones
No.
Eddie
This is a. Just generic green with a dumb feather on their helmet, like a. Just a wing.
Bobby Bones
You hate Philadelphia, you hate the Eagles, and that's okay. There are no rules. But I. That's. That. That's seeping in, huh? Okay. What else?
Eddie
The Browns.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Eddie
Just nothing there. The Saints, I don't think. I don't think they've ever changed their logo or change their helmet or change their uniform. It's just kind of like they feel so old.
Bobby Bones
I'm mid on the Saints. Yeah. Anything else?
Eddie
And then probably the Texans. Not. There's nothing there for me with the Texans. Dark blue.
Bobby Bones
Is that what they are?
Eddie
Yeah, dark blue with, like, a cow on their head.
Bobby Bones
The dark colors messed me up a little bit. Just being colorblind, really. Yeah. I like the Texans, but maybe I don't know what color they really are.
Eddie
Oh, you know the Titans, like.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah, Titans. Terrible.
Eddie
So bad.
Bobby Bones
Their new helmets look pretty good. Yeah, good point, Kevin. This year they've shifted. They're much cooler.
Eddie
I need to sit on it, though. We haven't seen it enough.
Bobby Bones
Kevin. Who's your ugly list?
Kevin
Yeah. What pops in my head? Probably the Panthers.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Oh, I like that one.
Bobby Bones
That's a tough one.
Kevin
I feel like it could be a lot cooler, but it's just so boring to me.
Bobby Bones
And they've lost a lot.
Kevin
Yeah. That has to do with it. And then another one. I know it's a classic, but, man, the Steelers has always just been so boring to me.
Eddie
You know what's cool about the Steelers, though, is, you know what that logo is with a little colored stars?
Bobby Bones
I don't know.
Eddie
That's the Steel logo. Like, if you get a bottle of spray. A spray can, like spray paint. Yeah. And the can is made of steel. Their little logo is on that bottle.
Bobby Bones
I didn't know that.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
How fun is that fact?
Eddie
Check it out. It's pretty cool.
Bobby Bones
I'm having fun right now. What a fact that is.
Eddie
And then when I was a kid, too, I thought that the Steelers meant, like, robbers, so I was like, ooh, I don't like these guys.
Bobby Bones
That would have been cooler.
Kevin
Yes. Like in a Master.
Bobby Bones
Just to us, to them, that's the coolest because they're the Steel City, but to us, we don't live there, so we don't have a relationship with Steel. So we're like, ah, it's a factory. But stealers, they steal things. They steal the looters, the bandits.
Eddie
Right, right.
Bobby Bones
Kevin, you have anybody else?
Kevin
Yeah, one more. We're going green here. And it's not because I hate them, but their new uniforms is the Jets. They're awful.
Eddie
Oh, I like the Jets.
Bobby Bones
I don't. I don't really like the green.
Eddie
You don't like that dark green? Their helmet looks like a lollipop.
Bobby Bones
I don't, but I don't hate it as much as like that Jaguar green. The teal or is that. So that's not green?
Eddie
No, it's like a blue green or the Seahawks green.
Bobby Bones
Is that green?
Eddie
Yeah, a different shade of. No, that's bluish. That's more blue and green.
Bobby Bones
So mine's a struggle.
Eddie
Colorblind man.
Bobby Bones
Mike, who's the worst logo to you? Commanders.
Laura Murray
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Do you like the new ones though? With a W? No, it's just the W. It's boring. I like it.
Eddie
And the maroon is a. Just a gross color.
Bobby Bones
I like that.
Kevin
The yellow doesn't look good at all.
Bobby Bones
I don't like yellow mixed in, so I can do without that. But it's like when the Chiefs do heavy yellow. I don't like that. I like the Chiefs with white and red. Yeah, I'm just a big red guy.
Eddie
You can see that red perfect, right?
Bobby Bones
The red. That red's awesome.
Eddie
What do you guys think about the. The. The Packers? Is that too bull to you?
Bobby Bones
No, I like it. It's a little green and yellow both, which is a bit contrary to everything I just said. But they've won enough to make it cool. I like that. It's been really old.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Like there's something to that. It's been consistent for since the beginning of the NFL and it's just a letter. Just adult G. Like I feel like that Cardinal on that helmet, that's a lame Cardinal. Like have it killing somebody, ripping a heart out of something.
Eddie
It's just a pretty little Cardinal.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, just like. And then also I start to think back maybe because I hate St. Louis Cardinals because I'm a Cub fan. Maybe that affects it and I don't even realize it.
Laura Murray
So.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
So what are your favorites? Do you like the Rams?
Bobby Bones
No. The Bengals? By far the coolest helmets in. In the NFL. The Bengals have the. But also grew up loving the Bengals because boomer size and was a left handed quarterback and I played it as left handed quarterback like early football and I was like, that's my guy. But I think the Bengals have the coolest helmets. Do you feel that way?
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
The white Tiger helmets are even good.
Eddie
Even cooler.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So I'm going to go Bengals.
Eddie
You Rams. I love the ram horn.
Bobby Bones
Just.
Eddie
If you can just picture that being their horn, it's just awesome. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I love that mid to me, but I get it. Kevin.
Kevin
Yeah, I'm trying to think. I mean, probably the Eagles, honestly. Sorry, Eddie, but I like that eagle on there.
Eddie
You like that wing?
Kevin
Sweet.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I kind of like the eagle.
Eddie
What are y' all talking about?
Bobby Bones
Mike Niners.
Kevin
I love that color scheme.
Eddie
That's cool. Golden red.
Laura Murray
Good.
Bobby Bones
One color scheme's good because logo's kind of lame.
Kevin
Yeah, the logo's lame, but the colors look good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, but yeah, it's a good color scheme.
Eddie
You know, I think the. The Raiders could really redo their logo to something cool because it's a great mascot. But like they're.
Bobby Bones
That's a looter. That's. The Raiders are a looter bandit.
Eddie
There you go.
Bobby Bones
Oh, my God. Look at this.
Eddie
Cool with it.
Bobby Bones
Okay.

Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I don't know if I have a congratulations today.
Eddie
I saw baseball was playing. Are they good?
Bobby Bones
We've really struggled. We're playing Arkansas baseball. Starting to get a little warmer. Almost hot. Possibly we can host a regional, but we just gotta be back in Kentucky. And I don't talk about baseball a lot because softball and baseball are so similar. I don't want to get them confused.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
But I do watch a lot to kind of pick.
Kevin
What about your Cubs? Congrats to your Cubs. They're playing.
Bobby Bones
Hey, man, they're playing great. I can't wait to tell you guys a story about me running into the players and me being like, oh, yes, I haven't forgot that. I just can't yet.
