Eddie
This is a podcast called 25 Whistles. Talking football.
Bobby Bones
And they all wear a whistle.
Eddie
Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect?
Bobby Bones
It's a podcast called 25 Whistles. 25 Whistles. All right, blow it, Eddie. I'd like to start with a confession. Uh oh, last night, after Buffalo missed the sack in the fourth quarter, like they had Lamar back. He did a little dipsy derv and then ran for like 18 yards. You guys remember that play?
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I went to bed.
Eddie
I won't look, look, look. You're not the only one, dude. Half of the stadium left.
Bobby Bones
I woke up this morning and thought, because I get like three or four emails, like I subscribe to the Athletic, and it was like one of the greatest comebacks. I was like, there was four minutes left. They were down two. Score. What?
Eddie
So what did you miss? All of it.
Bobby Bones
Live. I watched all of up up until they missed that sack. And I'm like, well, this game's over.
Eddie
Oh no.
Bobby Bones
So I'm out. I've missed all of it. So I don't know. Clue me in. Who stayed up for all you guys?
Eddie
I did.
Bobby Bones
Well, how did you guys keep watching? They were down two out of bet.
Eddie
I had a plus nine bet. I haven't had Buffalo plus nine.
Bobby Bones
I had James Cook. So I did hit a James Cook Derek Henry both to score a touchdown of the game. Made like 500 bucks off like 80 buck bet. It was all nice. That's. And also had James Cook over 60 and also was like he's not getting it. So they're down two possessions, they're just going to throw, end up getting 58 yards. Didn't hit it. But that was secondary. It doesn't matter.
Eddie
It doesn't matter.
Bobby Bones
I can't believe it. So I know what happened because I watched the clips this morning.
Eddie
It was unbelievable, dude. Yeah, it was unbelievable when Derrick Henry fumbled.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy. By the way, Ed Oliver knocked it out. Yeah, he's also the one who missed the Lamar sack. Yeah.
Eddie
I mean dude, it wasn't everyone. I don't think he missed Lamar. Lamar just.
Bobby Bones
That's true.
Eddie
That's like he's such a slippery guy.
Bobby Bones
I can't believe Derek Henry fumbled.
Eddie
He fumbles at the 30 yard line and it changes everything. I mean you can see Josh Allen's eyes like this is it, it's happening. But it wasn't easy, dude, because they needed a two point conversion. They score.
Bobby Bones
They also missed that two point conversion earlier that I saw.
Kevin
Yeah, they missed a couple of them.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And they almost got a one point safety. What was that on that two point conversion with the interception. And he threw it back. He like pitched it. Had the guy been tackled? Yeah, that had been a one point safety.
Kevin
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Anyway, it doesn't matter. That game is crazy.
Kevin
I can't believe a lot. Couldn't believe a lot that happened. The crazy part was I woke up to my phone going off. Literally went to bed same time as you woke up to my phone. Just I'm like, what the heck? I'm like, this game has to be turning crazy. I look. And then I watched the last two minutes on my phone with no audio at all while my wife sleeps right behind me and I was like, oh.
David Pollack
Oh my gosh.
Bobby Bones
You were getting texts about a team that's not even your team.
Kevin
Yeah, my dad and brother, we just. Because it was that wild of a.
Eddie
Game, it didn't matter.
Bobby Bones
Dude, if you were a fan, nobody text me.
Eddie
Well, I'm not texting.
Kevin
Well, Eddie's not a group.
Eddie
I am not texting you. Late night. No chance.
Bobby Bones
Good point on that. And secondly, who knows if I've been watching that game, like you'd probably know I am, but you're not going to blow me up on that.
Eddie
I did check to see the if the art our little text thread was at least going like, are you. Are you up? Are you watching this? But no one said anything, so I figured I was.
Bobby Bones
I went to bed after they missed that sack. I was like, well, this game's over.
Eddie
But here's what was crazy about the very end, which is like, of course I was vest. I was heavily invested in it because I had a live bet, a live Moneyline Buffalo bet that I took at the half that paid like, plus 250. I want $100 at the end of the game. But I waited till the very end. So they. All they want to do is get in field goal position to win. To win the game with like a minute left.
Bobby Bones
They sound like somebody who is not from America talking about football for the first time. What do you mean they get in field goal position?
Eddie
They're trying to get in field goal position.
Bobby Bones
Rang range again, you sound like somebody from, like, Scandinavia who's just learning American football rules.
Eddie
They're trying to get in field goal range.
Kevin
Tell me what a field goal position is. You know.
Eddie
You know when they.
Bobby Bones
Am I wrong to say that?
Eddie
I didn't realize I said it like that? So anyway, they're just trying to get a field goal, but then they'd launch a ball down the field. They end up at like the 10 yard line. And I'm like, it's first and 10 with 40 seconds left. And they start kneeling the ball. And I know you trust your kicker. I know you do. And it's a little.
Bobby Bones
A lot of missed kicks today, though.
Eddie
A lot of Miss Crater. I understand. I don't care if it was Justin Tucker out of the massage room. Like, It's. You have four chances and 40 seconds to at least do something, but there is the risk of fumbling the ball. I understand. But when they knelt the. When they kneel down to three times to take the clock all the way down to five seconds, I was stressing, but they made it and they won the game. It was freaking amazing.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy. Congratulations. I mean, that definitely sets up Josh Allen to be the MVP if he is equal now to Lamar for the rest of the year.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
If you. You're. If it's arguable, Josh Allen wins because of this game.
Kevin
He was unbelievable.
Eddie
He was.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Kevin
And Derek Henry was unbelievable. That just sucks. He fumbled.
Eddie
Oh, Zay Flowers is unbelievable.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
They were all so good.
Kevin
I was watching the Ravens, like, nobody's beating this team.
Bobby Bones
I mean, possible AFC championship game there for sure. Probably the best two teams in the afc.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kevin
I mean, after week one for sure.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I mean, I'm just saying, looking. Looking at them.
Kevin
I know both you watch those teams and you're like, nobody else looks like this in the NFL.
Bobby Bones
Even watching Buffalo, I don't know, their jerseys, that. That blue look fast.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Like, sometimes you just look good. Like, they say, get off the bus.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Like, both teams look good.
Eddie
It's crazy, too, that, like, they can't learn to stop Derrick Henry. Like, learn.
Bobby Bones
How do you learn to stop a gigantic guy who's super fast?
Kevin
Take his legs out. There you go.
Bobby Bones
Did you see him outrun people on angles?
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
He's out running Safeties on. On the head. Angles on him. Yeah. So there are two reasons you can't stop Derrick Henry. One, he's massive. Two, he's fast.
Kevin
I would hate to tackle that.
Bobby Bones
It sucks. Hate it. Yep. He's coming at you one on one, dude.
Kevin
Have it, bro. Go.
Bobby Bones
Business decision. I'm gonna let you get a field goal position. Take a risk. So here's what we're gonna do. I'll give you guys a second to think about yours. We're gonna do who Sucked and who was awesome. It can be anything from the weekend because the benefit of doing the show on a Monday is that we have all college and all NFL. So I'll go first. Who sucked? Texas.
Eddie
Oh, that's hot. Take.
Bobby Bones
Well, no, no, I'm going to tell you why Texas sucked. Because Texas wins 38. 7. Arch looks fine. He threw a bunch of touchdowns. But again, I talked to David Pollock about this. When you throw, you would see him go, like, oh, a bit as well. And so, yeah, he scored touchdowns. It was fine. They should. But I bet Texas to cover. I don't know, halfway through the game, and they freaking, like, fumbled it.
Eddie
Oh, I know, man.
Bobby Bones
To lose the. So Texas. I'm. I looked for a reason to like Arch Manning because I like Arch. I hate Texas. And so I was like, I'm going to bet on Texas.
Eddie
It's San Jose State.
Bobby Bones
Yes. And they fumble. And they fumble at the end. Right. Didn't they fumble? I can't even remember. I put on my phone. They fumbled.
Eddie
Like, they fumbled.
Kevin
Probably. I stopped watching that game.
Eddie
He did throw a pick, too.
Bobby Bones
I hate Texas for not covering. That's what I wrote in my notes. I hate Texas also for not covering, for fumbling and for sucking.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So that's who sucks, Mike.
Kevin
You and Texas.
Bobby Bones
What I do.
Eddie
Poor Mike.
Bobby Bones
So I did bet on them. I tried to find a reason to like them. I couldn't. They fumbled even Then. So are you off believing in them now? I don't believe in Texas. Just an architect. You're rooting for Arch. I'm rooting for. I'm still rooting for Arch itself, but I'm now rooting for Texas. I'm rooting against Texas more than I'm rooting for Arch. It was even for a while where I was trying to figure out where I actually fell in this, and now I'm rooting for against Texas more than I'm rooting for Arch. So, yeah, that's. Who sucked? Texas. Who is awesome? The Cincinnati football gods.
Eddie
Oh, the gods.
Bobby Bones
Or is it the Browns that just suck so bad? Like the Browns going to Brown and they browns hard yesterday. But the football gods were gentle to Cincinnati. They needed to win that game. Like little Flacco. Throw a pass. It was good. Hit off his hand. Interception. Cincinnati goes down, wins it. Thank God, because we'll get to our little League in a second.
Eddie
Gosh, that was stressful.
Bobby Bones
Very.
Eddie
Like, so stressful. I may not be able to take it all season.
Bobby Bones
You won't. I was worried about you. I stopped. Hey, what?
Eddie
What?
Kevin
Eddie just stopped replying.
Eddie
I started feeling this.
Bobby Bones
I started to feel so guilty and think about buying Eddie out week one.
Eddie
I was like, can I tell you what happened? Before we even talk about all that, Let me tell you, Happens. So my son is so stupid. He has two basketball games on Sunday in the middle of the day, and I'm pissed. And my wife's like, you can't miss him. There is first basketball games. I'm like, it's the first. It's the first week of NFL. So anyway, I go and I'm watching. The coach looks at me and say, hey, man, will you do the score? And I'm like, I have my phone in my hand. He obviously sees the streaming going on. And I go, I'll do it. Sure. So I go to the score table with my phone and. And the score guy goes like, dude, you're going to need to focus. So, like, I'll just get someone else to do it. I say, thank you.
Bobby Bones
Oh, so you got out of it?
Eddie
So I got out of it. I watched it on my phone, but I'm trying to watch basketball, dude. It was too much from yelling at my son to get in the game to like, oh, my gosh, they missed a field goal.
Bobby Bones
It was crazy. All that was crazy.
Kevin
It was a lot.
Bobby Bones
So here's who sucked. Texas. And here's who was awesome. The Cincinnati football gods.
Eddie
Yes, the gods.
Bobby Bones
For letting the Bengals for letting Cincinnati sneak out with that win against a terrible Browns team, which means, since I may not be good, possibly.
Kevin
Yeah, they actually won week one, which they haven't done in, like, seven years.
Bobby Bones
You're right.
Eddie
And then I'm thinking too, like, okay, please, like, Packer Gods, like, go take a nap and don't look awesome. The packers look great. So that was not good for us.
Bobby Bones
It's week one. I mean, we can. We can jump into this real quick. And I want to go around the room, but.
Eddie
Sorry, it's just hard not to talk about that.
Bobby Bones
It is. So we got in this league, and I can explain the system, but you draft. We have four teams, and we need these four teams. We need three out of four to win every week or we're going to lose money. And so we only had two of the four that we needed win, and so we're in the hole. That being said, what happens is there are six people. They draft six teams. You draft them, win or lose. And this is going to be kind of confusing, but if you win, you win 500 bucks. Your team, like, if the Bengals won, we won $500. But every time somebody else's team wins, we have to pay 100 bucks. And so it ends up. Last year, like, we had Matt still on. There were people that lost $10,000. There was also somebody that won $10,000. I won 4,000.
Eddie
Exactly.
Bobby Bones
So we had. We had six games. And this is going to be confusing because I drafted Miami to win and lose, and that counts as a skin. But it also counts as a skin. You can't win as well. So out of the six, we had three wins. And as of right now, I think we're down 500 bucks. Yep. And we can't make any money tonight. We can only not lose more money tonight.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
And that's if the Bears win.
Eddie
So we're rooting for the Bears tonight. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So, yeah, we're down $500 right now.
Eddie
And our teams are okay.
Bobby Bones
The Bucks. Hey. Holy crap. Speaking about the Gods.
Kevin
Gods.
Bobby Bones
First of all, they shouldn't have missed the extra point.
Kevin
Yeah, correct.
Bobby Bones
Because the game would have been over.
Kevin
Yeah. That was after I texted you guys.
Eddie
Yeah, it was right after you texted.
Kevin
And then they missed the extra point. I'm like, no.
Eddie
And that's okay. But then that.
Bobby Bones
Then the Falcons.
Eddie
And the Falcons kicker, who doesn't miss. I mean, he's really good. Decided to miss.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So I don't make this all about us, but we have.
Eddie
Don't make it all about we have.
Bobby Bones
The Bucks, the Bengals.
Eddie
We have Chiefs.
Bobby Bones
The Chiefs and Patriots.
Eddie
I'm worried about that one now, Kevin.
Kevin
Me, too.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So that's where we are. We need those four teams to win because we could lose thousands of dollars.
Eddie
It's stressful, but we can also win a lot of money.
Bobby Bones
We can. And I've been in the black over my three years. Like, I'm ahead a couple thousand bucks.
Eddie
Black is good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. That's why it's called Black Friday.
Eddie
And then red is the trouble.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, red's bad. Yeah.
Kevin
Stay in the black, baby.
Eddie
That's hard because I love red and roulette, so I've had to work on that.
Bobby Bones
Well, that's my favorite color. It's tough.
Eddie
This is the bad one, but.
Bobby Bones
And Kevin's fantasy team dominated mine at a good week. Kevin had the greatest week I've ever seen in fantasy football history. But the thing is, you don't even care about fantasy that much because you're just so worried about your money. And these are.
Eddie
Funny you said that. Because I didn't give a crap about fantasy.
Bobby Bones
I know. Same man.
Kevin
Me neither. I didn't care about players anymore. I cared about teams. Teams.
Bobby Bones
And you watch teams.
Eddie
Teams that I never cared about.
Bobby Bones
I know.
Eddie
Ever. I never watched the Bengals game be like, come on, Bengals.
Bobby Bones
No, I know. Because you lose money and then you start rooting for other games you have no interest in because it's 100 bucks.
Eddie
I know.
Kevin
It adds up quick. That's what I realized when once it started scoring, I was like, oh, wait, oh, oh, another four.
Eddie
My wife was like, you're a Bucks fan now. Like, well, let me explain to you.
Bobby Bones
For the next 17 weeks, I am, including the bye week, okay, Kevin, who. Who sucked, who was awesome, who sucked.
Kevin
Was a guy that you've been high on for a while. But week one was bad. And that's Bo Nix. Oh, Bo. Nick sucked. He had one. They did win. But Titans had every opportunity they could to win that game. They just didn't want to win it. But he's had three turnovers, and he just looked like he was trying to do too much last year. He was just really playing the system of the offense. And he looked like he was just calm and collected yesterday. He was, like, flustered. He was yelling at players, and he seemed like he was trying to win the game himself. So I thought he sucked. And then who was good? You know, I'm not an Oklahoma guy, but Mattier. John Mateer from Oklahoma was awesome on Saturday night. I watched that whole Game. Michigan's defense is real, and he diced them up with his legs, arms. They got that win. He was awesome.
Bobby Bones
He was always getting him a field goal position.
Kevin
Yes, he was.
Bobby Bones
And that was good.
Eddie
I'm not gonna hear the end of this.
Kevin
Yes.
Eddie
That position. That position. The field, you know, or like, it's the money spot.
Bobby Bones
That's a good game. My wife is a massive OU fan, so we watched the whole game. Yeah, they kept trying to give it back, though.
Kevin
Oklahoma.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Kevin
Yeah. I mean, they get just kind of like the Broncos. They gave them every opportunity. They're like, come on.
Bobby Bones
I thought the Titans might actually pull it.
David Pollack
I didn't.
Bobby Bones
I didn't care. But I thought I did kind of root for the Titans because that was money for us. And we can't talk about our whole league the whole time.
Kevin
I know, but we wanted the Titans.
Bobby Bones
I know. We wanted the Titans to win that for that.
Kevin
And Cam Ward, I was like, cool.
Bobby Bones
Hey, I thought Cam Ward for game one pretty good. Look pretty freaking good. Because there he had no time.
Kevin
Right.
Bobby Bones
I mean, it was. Yeah, that was it. Every play. Yeah. And then they had to change out a tackle. And then it was. Once they changed out the tackle, Kmore had even less time.
Kevin
Yeah, it was brutal for him. You see his dad in the stand stressing out. It was pretty funny.
Bobby Bones
The announcer was like, cameron's dad's also, like, super calm. And they kept looking at like, he's not. And then finally he went up to the rail and bent over. He's like, oh, there we go.
Kevin
Awesome.
Bobby Bones
Who sucked? Who was awesome?
Eddie
Eddie, you're not gonna like this, but the Panthers sucked.
Bobby Bones
They sucked. It was terrible.
Eddie
Dude, the Panthers may be bad again. Like, every time I switch to the Panthers, there's Bryce Young just running for his life again. I thought t Mac would save him. I think TMac was a decent fantasy player this year, but this. This week. But yeah, dude, Panthers are nothing to look forward to.
Bobby Bones
I don't think so. I think we a lot.
Eddie
I'm sure you do.
Bobby Bones
A lot of room.
Kevin
That game was weird too, though. The whole, like, delay. I don't know. I forgot the game was even on.
Bobby Bones
Lightning.
Eddie
Yeah, for like five minutes.
Bobby Bones
They're playing in Florida, bro.
David Pollack
What do you think?
Bobby Bones
Oh, no, no.
Eddie
I'm thinking of Denver.
Kevin
Yeah, Denver was the crazy.
Eddie
Was a five minute weather delay.
Kevin
Jacksonville was like three hours.
Bobby Bones
Yes. Jacksonville round, like, early round game. And it was playing deep into the second round. Yeah.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
That's bizarre. Brandon, you want to do one who sucked?
Eddie
Oh, wait, I got to give you my awesome.
Bobby Bones
Oh, sorry.
Eddie
Oregon. The Ducks.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. They punished Gundy.
Eddie
They were awesome.
Bobby Bones
They punished.
Eddie
I loved watching every minute. Well, I didn't watch a lot of it, but it was cool to see.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's a good one. Sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off.
Eddie
No, you're good.
Bobby Bones
Brandon. Who sucked?
David Pollack
Florida sucked.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. That's as. That's a tough one. Yeah, that's a tough one because they just signed their coach to a new deal. Yeah. And all of a sudden, you spit. It's another spit game. Yeah.
Eddie
What is happening?
Bobby Bones
What a terrible penalty. That's a culture issue. That's no respect for the player or for even your own. Even your own coach. If you do that, everything's on camera.
Eddie
There's a spitting culture.
Bobby Bones
No, but it's. I don't care about the rules.
Eddie
Got you.
Bobby Bones
I care about myself.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
And there are certain coaches that own that and go. You don't. It's not about you. And players abide. Saban was big on that. Like, if you did that crap with Saban, he benched you. It didn't matter how good you were, because the next man up. Yeah, it sucked.
Eddie
Are you guys spitters?
Bobby Bones
I don't. I need you to.
Eddie
Do you get, like.
Bobby Bones
Do you guys spit randomly?
Eddie
Yeah. Like, just. Are you up?
Kevin
I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Two out of ten?
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
If I'm writing myself, I don't spit.
Kevin
Like, I mean, what if you're, like, working out?
Bobby Bones
Well, oh, yeah.
Kevin
In the gym. I'm just saying. Or if you're on a run or something.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I mean. Yeah, my mouth dry.
Eddie
Dry mouth is different. Like, that's a necessity. But, like, you know, people just walk around like that. Spit all the time. If I'm on a balcony, I give it a second thought how high I am and like.
Bobby Bones
Okay, well, yeah, that's different.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Because that's. That's general height interest.
Eddie
Right. I think if you have a problem, if you don't stand on a balcony and want to spit it.
Bobby Bones
Maybe not spit, but I want to drop something. I want to. I want to time something. Yeah, yeah. Brandon, who is awesome.
Kevin
The Colts and Daniel Jones, we were.
David Pollack
Going to go to that game, but we canceled our team.
Bobby Bones
You didn't go. And I was like, go to that game.
David Pollack
I know. Well, we just stayed in Nashville because we're, like, we're exhausted. That's why we want to, like, take a weekend. So, like, we, you know, we just got a hotel in Nashville, and we just Watched football the entire weekend.
Bobby Bones
You know your wife's Steelers won.
David Pollack
Yeah, they did.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Yeah. And that was a. That's a crazy game. Yeah, really crazy.
Eddie
What do you have? Four touchdowns.
Kevin
I thought that was going to be a dud of a game.
Bobby Bones
Me too. When he got sacked, it start to start the game, I was like, Aaron Rodgers can't move. And you know what? He didn't move a whole lot even then.
Eddie
But he.
Bobby Bones
His arm is still there.
Kevin
Yeah. He threw some dimes.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And the jets did not look terrible.
Kevin
Fields. Fields looked amazing.
Bobby Bones
You know who else didn't look terrible? I'm amazed. I made some notes.
Eddie
Russell.
Bobby Bones
No interest.
Kevin
Russell Wilson.
Eddie
Yeah.
Kevin
He looked pretty good.
Bobby Bones
Oh, Rattler. Spencer Rattler didn't look terrible.
Eddie
Didn't look bad.
Bobby Bones
I wrote down Rattler didn't suck. Yeah, that's my whole note. That's.
Eddie
That's a good note because as I.
Bobby Bones
Was watching them, I was like, I really expected them to be a lot worse. And Spencer Rattler looked like an NFL quarterback. They lost. But he didn't look terrible. And I think his expectation was terrible.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And anything above terrible is good. So he looked good.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So yeah. You know what else didn't suck? I hit my ghost leg. This is not part of the commercial. And I'll tell our listeners this. The guys thought I was doing a commercial on our test thread, 100% because.
Eddie
I read it and I was like, gosh, I sound like Bobby cutting a commercial.
Bobby Bones
I sent Eddie and Kevin a text. I was like, guys, don't forget the ghost leg because you can add that to your parlay right now.
Kevin
If you go to DraftKings, use Bobby Sports.
Bobby Bones
I was like, go do your go. And I hit. So I picked four games and one of them didn't hit, which was the Panthers plus four and a half. And I bet like 100 bucks and it was like 550. They killed that game. My ghost leg that didn't hit and I'm 100 bucks. Maybe like 325 or something. Wow. It was awesome.
Eddie
That's really cool.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
I needed two ghost legs.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah.
Eddie
Unfortunately, they only give you one.
Bobby Bones
Both legs or Gus legs. I did the Eddie Bet tour. I did like a 16 game parlay.
Kevin
Oh yeah?
Eddie
How many did you get wrong?
Bobby Bones
So many. I didn't even check.
Eddie
Oh, no, that's red all over. All over the board.
Bobby Bones
But I'm telling you, the ghost like made me money.
Eddie
That's awesome.
Bobby Bones
So do that. The code's Bobby Sports. But this wasn't part of like Their sponsorship on the show. It did work. I also did the I got a free no sweat bet. I don't know if they're doing it next week, but I told the guys, too. Hey, guys, don't forget there's a no sweat bet over at DraftKings.
Eddie
Up to how much money?
Bobby Bones
500.
Eddie
Which is awesome. Like, it's huge. And that means, like, if you lose it, you have $500 or whatever you. Whatever you bet. But you can do it up to 500. So if you 500, you have up to 500 on your next best.
Bobby Bones
Hilarious. We're not doing an ad right now.
Eddie
But what's stupid about this is Bobby sends this. Oh, he's like, up to 500. Guys go to DraftKings right? Right now.
Kevin
And it's like 20 minutes before kickoff. We're like, oh, shoot.
Bobby Bones
Gotta do it now.
Kevin
Gotta do it now.
Eddie
So I jumped over there and I look at it. I had already used it for like $5.
Bobby Bones
So I had a $5.
Eddie
Why? Because I didn't know it was up to 500. I would have done something way bigger.
Bobby Bones
Interesting. I did mine for 500, and I bet the Bengals plus are minus five and a half. They did not cover. Excuse me. So I re bet it, and it was the Broncos minus like nine and a half, and they didn't cover. So I lost two runs at it.
Kevin
Yeah, I was there.
Bobby Bones
I lost two runs. Here's the thing. I lost all my money.
Eddie
What? Everything that was in the driver count.
Bobby Bones
I got all the way down to like 200.
Eddie
But the Cubs game, man, we made money at the Cubs game.
Bobby Bones
I know. I ended up having a great run last night.
Eddie
You were on a heater.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I was at like 2, 3, 3, 300 going into yesterday. I got all the way down to $200.
Eddie
Oh, my goodness.
Bobby Bones
I'm back to 2300, which I made just last night.
Eddie
Dude, were your fingers just flying?
Bobby Bones
I'm still way up because I started it, like, 2, 280.
Eddie
$280.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. But I. I had a. I just want our audience to know I'm being honest with you guys. Like, I had. I was the hottest of hot, and then I suffered mightily. Got down to like 200. You know what? I hit a couple any game. Touchdown score parlays.
Eddie
Wow.
Kevin
Which made me love those ones.
Eddie
Those are good.
Bobby Bones
Yep. And they. They never hit for me. Like, I suck at those. But again, I hit a Derek Henry James Cook 2. Game 3. I bet 300 bucks and hit 4,000.
Kevin
Oh, wow.
Eddie
That's Good hit.
Kevin
Nice.
Bobby Bones
And so I made my way back up. So. But yeah, no, it was. It was not good. Not good for a long time, and then it finally got okay again. But, yeah, that was it.
Eddie
Saturday night, I stayed up for the nightcaps and I got down to 30. I was at 150 starting Saturday. Got down to 30 bucks on the nightcap. I think it was, like, not Hawaii, but it was. Oh, it was byu. I thought BYU would score more because they were killing that game. But no, we got down to 30 bucks. But at the end of that Buffalo Ravens game. Dude, I'm back, baby.
Bobby Bones
Good for you. I feel like I'm back to fighting weight. I mean, I'm still up, but I'm back to fighting weight because I was back 300 bucks. I was like, I'm going to set out next week.
Eddie
You were already defeated. I'm gonna take a break.
Bobby Bones
I was like, I'm gonna sit out next week and just kind of regather. I don't want to. I don't want to be chasing. And I mean, I chased last night, but I hit. And so, yeah, we're getting back.
Eddie
Good times.
Bobby Bones
I thought Patrick Mahomes lowering his shoulder into that defensive back was kind of a douchebag move, really. Same.
Kevin
Agreed.
Bobby Bones
I like Patrick Mahomes a lot. I like the Chiefs a lot. We're rooting for the Chiefs. We're a Chiefs team.
Eddie
We are.
Bobby Bones
We're a Chiefs team, Kevin. That's money.
Kevin
Yep.
Bobby Bones
And they're playing the freaking Eagles week, too.
Eddie
Yeah, that's gonna be. I know, but the Cowboys almost beat the Eagles, so there's hope.
Bobby Bones
No, there's not. The Cowboys played in Eagles defense. Not their best player.
Eddie
Right.
Bobby Bones
And the Chiefs lost their number one receiver.
Kevin
Yes.
Bobby Bones
But I thought, why is that a douche move? I'm going to tell you because these. These defensive backs, linebackers. Doesn't matter. The defensive players are conditioned to. If a quarterback's running out, let up because they're going to get a penalty. And so he was letting up. And Mahomes, like, I don't think so. Whack. Nails them. It was almost like a defenseless defensive player because he was letting up. Yeah. And Mahomes lowered his shoulder, and I was like, not a good look. Did not like that. Yeah.
Eddie
Knocked him on his butt.
Kevin
I thought the same thing. And then he did a quick little flex. Yeah. I was like, come on, man.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. If you're both going straight forward and you. You lower your shoulder. Good on you. They were running out and Mahomes more than anybody because he does get the benefit of the call. Yeah, I did not like that. And it's hard because I like Patrick Mahomes. He's problematic. He's non problematic. And I like non problematic, awesome players. And I also like awesome players who get hated on for no reason because they're non problematic. So I continue to root for them.
Kevin
That makes sense.
Bobby Bones
Thank you.
Eddie
So I have that a lot going on in your head there.
Bobby Bones
I got more too. I did. And I wrote immediately on Twitter when it happened. And so I'm still getting people that disagree with me a lot about this. And I'll leave it up. I don't care. But. So the Phillies super, Karen that went over and took the ball from the kid.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so you've probably seen the clip. Foul ball's hit. Dad runs over, gets the ball. He goes, I got it. Gives it to the kid. She runs over, goes, that's my ball. Takes the ball back. As soon as it was posted, I was like, okay, she sucks. He's a wuss.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And everybody loses. And then once the team was nice enough to see it happen and give them all this, I came back and I was like, hey, looks like the team did the right thing. It's awesome. The kid got a bat. He won the World Series. Like, all this stuff's happening. They got famous. But first of all, she's awful because a home run ball, foul ball, it's free game until it is in your possession. Even if it's touching your hand, it's like bouncing around. It's not yours until you hold it up. Yeah, it's not yours. So it was never her ball. He walked over, immediately grabbed it. It wasn't a thing. Where he's like scurrying, scuffling, and then all of a sudden, he has it. He walks in, sees it, picks it up, takes it over to his kid, and I'm like, that's awesome. That's a good dad. I still think he's a good dad, but she went over and got in his face. There is no chance I would have given that ball to her. That's letting a bully win. And I'm okay with a bully winning if they can beat you up. So if a bully came over and was like, give me that ball, and he was bigger than me, sure. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. That little lady trying to bully me, I'm not gonna do anything to her. But I'm like, no, we're good. Go back to your seat. I'm just Gonna hold the ball. The fact that he went back into his kid's glove and gave her the ball. That sucked. Yeah. Yeah.
Kevin
Not a good look.
Bobby Bones
It's not even a man woman. It's just you let somebody who didn't have the ability to bully you bully you. It's like when a mouse scares an elephant.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Hey, elephant, stomp it.
Eddie
Do you know what she said to him?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Because the audio is now out there. It's like, you took my ball or something like that. Like, that was my ball, right?
David Pollack
That. That was in my hand.
Eddie
That's. Yeah. That's terrible.
Bobby Bones
So everybody lost now, in the end, the kid. The kid wins because they're going to the World Series.
Eddie
I get it. But he lost the ball.
David Pollack
And they get an rv, too.
Bobby Bones
They got. They get the whole thing.
Kevin
I didn't see that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, like, the guy that's like an RV owner, sent him to the World Series, gave an rv. Marcus being the greatest thing. And people online are like, see, that's what happens whenever you give the ball up to the lady. I'm like, no, no, no. This is a freak incident where it became viral. So therefore, people are like, oh, the odds of something going viral like that, not one in a million. But I thought everybody sucked in that situation. I thought the lady sucked the hardest and the worst, for sure. I thought the dad, dude, just say, no, it's my ball. Go back to your seat.
Kevin
Like, no, I'm with my kid.
Bobby Bones
He took the ball out of his kid's glove and gave it to her.
Eddie
That's crazy.
Kevin
It's embarrassing.
Bobby Bones
As a dad, it sucks.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Even if it was a woman, it doesn't matter. Dad, kid, woman, man. If they can't beat you up, they can't bully you. Yeah. Just go, no. Yeah. But in the end, it happened. So that was another note I made. And we have to stop doxing people. Even though she was a douchebag. Don't. They misidentified her three times, said she was the wrong person. People went to the wrong people's account, started trashing their accounts.
Kevin
Oh, my goodness.
Bobby Bones
Even if they were right the first time, don't be doxing people for something like that. Yeah, that's not. That's not ruin someone's life mistake. That's. You're a bad person. You're on the Internet, and people that know you know, but you don't have to put their name where they work. That sucks.
Eddie
It's almost criminal to, like, do more research to find out more about.
Bobby Bones
And that's what they were doing live, they're like, Internet, do your thing. And then they say that, yeah, they'd get a name and they'd post it. It's so and so. And she has a hyphen. And like, oh, classic. They have a hyphen. Of course. I bet she's woke. And then it turns out wasn't the right person.
Eddie
Terrible.
Kevin
Oh, my gosh.
Bobby Bones
So that was another one on my list. Here, here's another one. So this is the lady when they were talking about the Powerball and we do have a winner, so it doesn't matter, but they were in Alabama. They went to Susie Connerly and they said, susie, what would you do if you won the Mega Millions? Have you guys seen this clip?
Eddie
No.
Bobby Bones
No. I tell you exactly what I'd do with the first 70 million. I'd pay off Kaylan DeBoer and get him the heck out of the University of Alabama. And then I'd take whatever else it took to get rid of the ad. I'd give my church money. I don't know how much of what I'd have, you know, after I paid my taxes, but I'm sure I'd have plenty with this, this kind of deal. But I know I'm not gonna win. I just hope I win some scratch offs. I just do it for the fun. The news goes up to her and the first thing she says is, kaylin, Kaylin Deber, you're out of here, Alabama coach. I'm buying you out.
Eddie
That's hilarious.
Bobby Bones
Respect. That's Alabama fan.
Kevin
That's fantastic.
Bobby Bones
So I have that. My other note, I have. I was watching the Oklahoma Michigan game with my wife and she roots for Oklahoma hard, but she still has, like, sympathy for other players on the other team.
Eddie
What do you mean?
Bobby Bones
Like, when the Michigan kicker misses it, she's like, oh, I hate that for him. And I'm like, yeah, but you know, she's like, it doesn't matter. Like, I feel bad for him. He's already different than everybody else on the team. Yes. And now he's different and he let him down.
Eddie
I mean, I like the human angle too. Her football watching.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, very.
Eddie
But I've never heard of that.
Bobby Bones
And then I said at one point there was like a hard hit or something, and I was like, I was like, yeah, I'd get up. I get up from that. When she was like, do you understand what would happen to you if you get hit like that? And then you went on a whole five minute monologue about how my body would explode. From one single hit like that. And she's like, you get hurt when you go to sleep. Imagine if that happened to you. So I really opened myself up to, like.
Kevin
Next time to say internally. Yeah, yeah, keep it to yourself.
Eddie
Always, always.
Bobby Bones
So I think those are all of my normal notes.
Eddie
Did you see the Buffalo fan that was hitting Hopkins?
Bobby Bones
Confused about that, because I did see it. Now I missed all of it live. And I think if you're watching it live, you probably still didn't catch it because it was even in the background of the shot. Yeah. So I did see a zoom in on that fan who hits Hopkins in the head, but he didn't hit him that hard.
Eddie
He's pushing his helmet, like, get out of here.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Like, kind of fun.
Kevin
Hopkins wasn't any. It was the.
Eddie
Lamar's the one.
Bobby Bones
But he hits. He hits Hopkins helmet first.
Kevin
Yes, yes.
Bobby Bones
And then Lamar. You have to suspend Lamar for that. You have to.
Eddie
He jumps back in the crowd.
Bobby Bones
Yes, you have to suspend Lamar for that. It's hilarious. But you can't. You can't touch fans. You gotta. And Lamar said it, too. He was like, you gotta have security do that. If he was a. It's so funny. But because you see Lamar in the background, just shove the fan back. If the fan was a threat to a player, like a literal threat, it's okay. It's like if a streaker runs down, you think they may have a knife or something, you can tackle that freaking streaker, take him down. He wasn't a threat. So you can't hit the fans.
Eddie
Why does the fan have the right? And I know that he doesn't have the right.
Bobby Bones
They kicked him out immediately.
Eddie
They kick him out and stuff.
Kevin
He's a kid too, right?
Eddie
Yeah, he's young. Yeah, he's young.
Bobby Bones
15.
Kevin
Teenager, right?
Eddie
I would say older teenager. Okay, maybe so, you know, like, fans love to, like, yell at players, but we expect the players to do nothing back. Right. Like, not even talk back. Even if a player turns around and yells at them, like, no peep you. Like, they get in trouble for that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
But it almost seems like it's not fair, you know?
Bobby Bones
It's not fair. They make $30 million to go out and play a game, and they're supposed to have a little more tact.
Eddie
Okay, Take that out of it.
Bobby Bones
No, no, you can't take it out of it. It'd be like if we got online to every commenter and sent them videos back, being like, f you. F you occasionally. I'll mix it up a little Bit. But even then, it's not a good look. Like, you're supposed to be bigger than that.
Eddie
Right. I understand.
David Pollack
It's hard.
Bobby Bones
You've grown. Yes. Yeah, of course it's hard.
Eddie
Yeah, I agree. It's hard when somebody pushes their hel. You just want to be like, that's.
Bobby Bones
Wrong because he's been getting jacked all night. And the kid touching his helmet.
Eddie
That's true. He's been getting hit.
Bobby Bones
The kid should not touch his helmet like that. Yeah, but Lamar, you can't go shoving fans. You can't. And it's hilarious.
Kevin
It's so funny.
Bobby Bones
It's so funny. I'm not even mad about it. Like, I think it's funny. You can't do that. But I understand. But fans pay their ticket to go and be a fan.
Eddie
And fan is fanatic, but doesn't mean yell whatever you want to them or touch them or push them.
Bobby Bones
Yell close to whatever you want.
Eddie
When they respond, it's usually something bad.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah. But it's not a good look. You're supposed to be above that because you've been able to grow through that as a player.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
You played in high school, you played in college. You're now at the NFL. I gotta imagine it's like being a parent. Right. If you get handed a 12 year old, you're like, I don't know what I'm doing. But if you grow with it from baby on up, you have the skills, the growth through all those years. Same with the players. There's an expectation on them because of the place they're in and the money they're making.
Eddie
And there's a little bit of taunting. Right. Like them running along the side at Buffalo. A little like you're kind of teasing a little bit. They for sure were for sure pretty funny.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, hilarious. You can't. You can't do that. You can't push a fan unless they're a threat to the other player. Again, hilarious. I hope he doesn't get suspended. I wish. Once a season, if you're a player, one time a year, if a fan's really pissing you off, you can challenge them.
Eddie
There we go. You got a card. You can use it one time.
Bobby Bones
Go and use it one time and see if there is. See if they want to come take the challenge and if they don't, that's great. But then we get to see in front of everybody how big of a wuss they really are.
Eddie
That'd be awesome.
David Pollack
One fan punch card.
Bobby Bones
Well, I didn't have you to punch. You know what we're going to do? Oklahoma drill. Me and you.
Eddie
That'd be awesome.
Bobby Bones
You think you're such a big boy. Me and you, we'll put pads on you halftime of the game one time. That'd be funny. But, Lamar, you can't be tired. You just can't. You can let your team down. It's why. It's just really what it is. You're letting your team down if you're not able to play the next game. So, yeah, hilarious. I didn't see it live, though, so I just saw a clip 500 times.
Eddie
No, I mean, I think that happened during commercial break. They had to go back and show it.
Bobby Bones
Oh, is that what it was?
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Got it. Anything else you want to mention? Oh, I feel like we kind of got all the big stuff out there.
Eddie
Dude, it's just great. Oh, I do want to say something. Go ahead. I'm proud of Nashville. It was so cool. Like, I was driving back from our basketball games, and Tennessee was playing, and I stopped to get gas, and there's a FedEx truck driving into the gas station. And you can hear the game loud in his radio as he's delivering packages. You just hear like, yeah, Ken Ward's got the ball. And I'm like, this is cool. He's listening. Then I go inside to get whatever I was getting, and the guy at the cashier is just like, come on, baby. God, you got to make that catch. And it was cool to see the whole city just, like, around Streams and the radio, listening to their home team play football. I just hadn't seen that before. That was really, really cool. It felt like almost like old school.
Bobby Bones
Like, week one romance, too, though, because they haven't lost a bunch of games yet.
Eddie
True.
Bobby Bones
I can imagine if they go.05 that week six romance. Not gonna be pure, right?
Eddie
Yeah. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Also, they. They looked kind of bad, but there was. There's some promise that, like, cambord at times. Look like, oh, this is it. Like, he can do this.
Kevin
Their defense look good.
Bobby Bones
How many drop balls, though, is really gonna have kept dropping those balls? Yeah. Yeah.
Kevin
I was like, dude, he needs you. Yeah, Kenmore needs him.
Bobby Bones
He needed anything and really dropped some bad balls.
Kevin
Decent game, but I think he had a fumble, too.
Bobby Bones
That hurt. Well, I kept. Every time he'd drop a ball, I'd be like.
Eddie
Drop it like it's hot. What? No. I don't know.
Bobby Bones
What would I call him?
Eddie
Pollard.
Bobby Bones
No. Every time Ridley would drop a ball, what would I call him?
Eddie
Oh, cd. Yeah, it was very cds. Yes, it's very cds.
Bobby Bones
Like cd. I'm sorry.
Eddie
Oh, no, it's very upsetting.
Bobby Bones
We talk about that coming up though, the cowboys. We do. We do. We actually recorded that after the game so we'd have it for this show.
Eddie
You know, one of my neighbors left a sign on my front door that said, go eagles.
Kevin
Whoa. Dang.
Eddie
And I'm not public about it like that. I think my kids, they all wear cowboy stuff. So they see the kids playing football in the front, like, you know, wearing cowboys gear. But like, I'm not public around my neighborhood. How much I love the. I don't have a flag waving or anything.
Bobby Bones
Do you know which neighbor it was? Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only proper way to get back at them would be spray paint their garage.
Kevin
Oh, I love it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, sure. With a big star or like fake abductor kid. And throw them in the back of the car, tape them up in a cowboy with a cowboy hat and jersey.
David Pollack
That equals what he did.
Kevin
Have your kids do it.
Eddie
We got a feud going now.
Bobby Bones
All right, we're gonna come back with David Pollock in a second. Don't let one bad leg haunt your parlay. Parlays turn into payouts, and now you. Even near misses won't haunt your bet. The NFL season is here, and DraftKings Sportsbook, an official sports betting partner of the NFL, is rewriting the rules with ghost leg, a new game changing promotion that turns close calls into cold, hard cash. Best of all, it's available to all DraftKings customers. Here's how it works. You build any three plus leg pregame NFL parlay. On Sunday, you apply your ghost leg token. And if one leg loses, DraftKings makes it vanish like it never existed and pays you out in cash for the rest. Last season, over 30 million parlays were lost on a single leg. This year, ghost leg gives those busted bets a second life. No more busted parlays that haunt you all season. With ghost leg, the bad leg vanishes. The payout doesn't. Download the DraftKings sportsbook app. Use the code Bobby sports. That's the code Bobby sports to unlock ghost leg, the promotion that makes one bad leg disappear and pays you out in real cash. Ghost your losses, get your payout in partnership with DraftKings Sportsbook.

This is Julian Edelman from Games With Names. Football is back. That means it's tailgate time and this season the only meat going on the grill is Dietz and Watson. Some of my favorites are the Black Angus Dietz dogs, the Italian style chicken sausage and the Asiago spinach chicken sausage, just to name a few. Oh, and I love the jalapeno mustard. It's flavor packed and you could just tell Dietz and Watson uses the highest quality meats in every bite. Dietz and Watson was born in Philly in 1939 and they've been doing it the right way ever since. Visit dietzenwatson.com the right way to learn more about the deets difference.
Bobby Bones
Now let's go over to Georgia Bulldog legend, former NFL player, current college football analyst David Pollack. David was two time SEC Defensive Player of the Year, first team All American, Georgia's all time leader in sacks. The list goes on and on. His career was cut short because of a severe neck injury, but was a first round draft pick of the Bengals in 2005. You can listen to his podcast C Ball Get Ball and follow him on social media at. David Pollock, 47. Here he is, David Pollack. David, good to see you, man.
David Pollack
Great to see you, brother. Thanks for having me on a couple of things.
Bobby Bones
What's a Saturday like at your house? Like this last Saturday, what's it like?
David Pollack
Probably the laziest human in the world. I always wake up and make sure that I get my workout in, you know, get some steps in because the rest of the day is going to consist of watching football, multiple screens and multiple games going. I got my laptop in front of me taking notes of everything that I see in the observations. And it's literally, it's a quick grind from, from 12 o' clock to, to nighttime. It's like what just happened. It was, it was fast and furious, but it's so much dagum fun too. It's not like it's really working. And think about this, man. Like my wife says, like, what you want to do, something you want to do. I like, sorry, babe, I got to work. Like, I got to sit here right on the couch and work. So it's a lot of consuming for sure.
Bobby Bones
Do you still catch the west coast games too, or is it bedtime?
David Pollack
Oh God, no. We're catching them all, brother. Like we're not going to bed till, you know, till 1 or 2. I mean, it's, you know, I was up watching BYU late, you know, this past, after this past Saturday, after everything was commencing, actually, I'm sorry, Sunday morning. So no, you definitely stay up and watch as much as you can to, to make sure you're educated. There's some good football out west, man. Like, it's fun to, it's fun to watch that and consume that as well.
Bobby Bones
Can you watch NFL though, recreationally? Because you're watching college, obviously, because you're an expert. Can you watch NFL with a little less attention?
David Pollack
Man, I just try to, I try not to on Sundays. I try to just get away from it. And we've got church and we've got, you know, small group and we've got other things, so it'll be on like during the day, at the end of the day. But no, we definitely try to do more as a family and, and get up and move a little bit more and do like, I love to play golf in the afternoon if I can. If I can sneak that in. But no, I can't watch any game. Like, like a normal. Like just sit back and relax and watch. Like, I'm definitely always looking at the game from an analytical view. Probably one of the only things that won't turn my brain off. But NFL football is fun and different and I've played fantasy for years, and that's kind of changes the way you look at the game. But this year I told, I committed. I said I'm not watching for fantasy. I'm not doing it. I'm not getting upset. Like, I'm not just cheering my guy on. So I try to decompress a little.
Bobby Bones
Bit on Sundays after you finish playing after your injury. And I have different friends that played different positions and their bodies did different things after they retired. Some of them put on a bunch of weight, some of them lost a bunch of weight. You played a position, though, where I'm not sure if you had to keep your weight up or down because you played a very athletic position, but it was on the line. What happened to you physically after you stopped playing?
David Pollack
Yeah, I was a chunky. I was a chunky monkey. I always was growing up. And it's funny, your identity gets, you know, it's okay when you're a football player to be thicker and be bigger. And so defensive lineman, I was 292 at my heaviest. And you do, you're absolutely right. You go one or two ways. You either keep the habits you had and, and if you do, you're going to keep growing or you start to change the eating habits. And so I've definitely lost like 50, 60 pounds from my, from my top playing weight. And it's a different look. I eat to survive. I'm not one of those person that has a lot of these, like, temptations and food. Like, I don't care where we go eat. I just, I want to eat the same thing. I want to know what I'm eating. And definitely me and my buddies, when you go back to reunions, it's, it's. You're 100% right. It's one or the other. It's get really skinny and trim, or it's put on a little bit of weight and you look like you played a totally different position.
Bobby Bones
You said you work out every day before or you try to work out every day. Same with me. But I assume our workouts are a bit different. Just looking at us, I would think visually. So are you still a guy who does heavy weight or how have you changed your workouts?
David Pollack
Yeah, I'm done with heavy weight, man. Like heavy weight does nothing for me. I'm not trying to have any more surgeries or put my body through anything. I don't need to. I squatted almost £700 in college. But like I'm not going over, you know, 275 on a squat now and I'll just do 25 reps. Bench. I'm not going to do over 225. I'll do 25 to 30 reps if I need to do 25 to 30 reps or I'll slow it down big time. Like the other day we did sets of 10 and I did, you know, a 5 countdown with 225 hesitate and then come up. Well, you do 10 reps like that, it'll hurt. Like you can make the weight hurt. So to me it's more about moving fast. We're big on the row machine. We're big on the bike, especially the assault bike because that thing will whip your hiney like. But it's definitely a different way of training. I'm not trying to, to get big and to have all this mass, you know, as we get older, trying to fight father time and continue to be able to do some explosive things but not be like a, a big corn fed mule. I've had those days. Those days are gone.
Bobby Bones
Let's get into the games. This last Saturday, I want to start with the Troy Clemson game like forever. I was like, wait, what is even happening here? Clemson, you know, obviously lost week one. What's happening over there, man?
David Pollack
Here's the thing. I'm going to give Clemson a little bit of the benefit of the doubt and say maybe like, you know, because Antonio Williams is their best receiver and it's not close. He's their go to guy. So I'm giving them a little benefit of the doubt and say like, okay, you know, he gets hurt first possession of the first, you know, first series and they're still trying to figure out who they are. Like that's their go to guy. It's built through them but, but it's not a surprise. They get down, you know, 13 at the half and what do they do? They come out in the second half and they pound the rock. They had 17 yards rushing. They beat that in one play to start the second half and they got going downhill and they got more physical and then they get three interceptions and the energy picks up. Wesco Bryant. Wesco becomes the guy. Cade Clubnik plays better. Like, I think they're going to continue to figure out who they are, but it's definitely frustrating to watch as a Clemson fan. Like, you want that physical identity on offense or some kind of identity that you can hang your hat on. And through a couple of weeks, man, it's been, it's been very average. And that's not what you're looking forward to.
Bobby Bones
I watched a lot of the Texas game just to see what Arch would do. It did look like he was grimacing when he would throw. You think there's anything to that?
David Pollack
100%. You don't do that on purpose and you're never trying to give anybody any ammunition. But, you know, Arch didn't play up to his potential in week one and took a giant step backwards. And, you know, I don't know if something's wrong with him, but I didn't see that in week one. I didn't see the grimaces. I saw some big time throws late in that football game, but he definitely looked with the grimace like something was a little bit wrong. And I got news for you. Anybody who's played football, you know, man, like you're healthy as week one and then throughout the season, it's just, it's how do you mitigate, mitigate your body and mitigate disaster and try to continue to be as good as you can, but you're never going to be 100% again. Like it's just not going to happen. But I hope he gets healthy. He's still got a lot of maturing to do, man. He needs reps. Like he's got talent. Yes, and he can make some big time throws, but seeing it pulling the trigger, he's got to continue to grow and get more efficient with that if Texas wants to go win a national championship.
Bobby Bones
I know we're bouncing around here, but I feel like Florida fans are just being jerked in all different directions. Like last year they started terribly, they really ended strong. They give Napier a new contract and then he goes out and loses it to South Florida. Like what is happening in Gainesville, man?
David Pollack
And I know those fans got to be because. Because you were right in this spot a year ago and you're right, the negativity came and it was swirling and it was like time to get rid of Napier and then they get hot and you saw DJ Lagway and you're like, that's a dude, man. Six, three, two, fifty. That's a quarterback to build around. And then the offense just kind of looks and you score some 16 points against South Florida. Like, it's, it's got to be frustrating. This team's got to do better the way they lost too, man. Like last, first, first two things. One, you get super conservative late in the game with a lead and you run, run. It's almost like you were up by 10 points and you give the football back and they miss a field goal. And then you get aggressive and you missed a few shots, which is, which is okay to be aggressive, but you got to make plays and you got to finish games out. Then what happens? Like, how about the spit game? Like, you, you come in, you just saw Jalen Carter do the spit thing and it didn't work out well for him, right? Like gets kicked out of the game and then Brennan bet does the same thing, gets a 15 yard penalty to move them closer to field goal range. So, I mean, you had 11 penalties, you had two touchdowns called back. Like, you, if you're a Florida fan, you're frustrated. You're tired of like shooting yourselves in the foot, not playing up to potential. And they did it again this week, man.
Bobby Bones
What's up with the spit? Like, we saw it twice in high profile situations. Did. Was that when you were playing where people spitting on each other with big loogies?
David Pollack
Bro, if you hawk a loogie on me, you're going to get, you won't get something back, I can promise you that. Like, that's not, I mean, you saw Romanowski do it back in the day. And I don't know, I don't know what it is, but, but if you've seen it now and you've seen the reaction, you're going to get tossed. You're going to cost your team. Like, we're going to have to dial back the spit. For goodness sakes. Like, go, go throw some hands or something. Or push and shove. Like whatever that is needs to go away because there's, I mean, there's not a lot worse you can do than spit on someone. Like literally spitting on somebody, that's not like, it's not going to be tolerated. We got to, we got to get rid of that. That's disgusting.
Bobby Bones
I watched Any Given Saturday, the Netflix series, and I really like Jeff Levy coming out of that. And my family, they're all massive OU fans. I'm Arkansas guy, but you know he went to school at ou, coached at ou, obviously before he made his way back around to be the Mississippi State head coach. But it was my first real experience with like, seeing the personality of Jeff Levy. Obviously. They had a massive game on Saturday night. Do you know much about him? Do you like him?
David Pollack
Yeah, Jeff's cool. Jeff's a cool cat. He's a. I think he's a really good fit for Mississippi State because it's. He's country. He wants to run his offense a certain way. And Mississippi State, man, just coming out the gates and how about the cowbells too? Like, you turn on that broadcast and you're little. Your ears are ringing. Like my ears were still ringing at 2:00am it was just. It's so loud and so obnoxious in a good way. Like, it's a great thing. And I think Levy to get that win because last year it was. It was a mess, right? And. And you saw the. You still saw the care on that. Any given Saturday, you still saw the way they cared against Ole Miss, right? Late in the season, they still wanted to win. They were still fighting for their coach. And I think it's. It's easy to cheer for a guy like that. His offense is. Is fun, is exciting. Shape and played pretty well. They made some big plays down the stretch. And I think, you know, Stark Vegas was rocking. And that's. That's one of man that you need a buy in. You need a moment. Like at Georgia, my first year with Coach Rick, the Georgia Tennessee game, the hobnail boot game, like, we went, okay, we can do this. Like, we just. We needed to prove it to ourselves. And I think Mississippi State proving it to themselves now. Still got a tough schedule and a lot of road to hoe. But like, that will do a lot for the locker room, for the belief, for the trust in coach and him building a future there.
Bobby Bones
Those fans just picked up the goalpost on the way. It was like they rushed the field, grabbed them, and they just took off running with it. It was like shout out to Starke, Starkville and all those fans. Because I've never seen goal posts come up so quick.
David Pollack
They're. They're trying to get rid of that in the sport. Like, right. Like not. Not let them do it. But it is. That's. That's the great thing about college, man storm the field. The emotion, the passion. Like they're doing the post game and everybody's in there so tight and there's nowhere to. There's nowhere to not be seen. You can't even see grass. It doesn't even look like a field. But, yeah, I just want to know where they went with it because Stark Vegas is small, baby. Like, you did. I know you didn't take it to the water. Like, where do we. Where do we go and go plant our goalposts?
Bobby Bones
Was there ever a game where they rushed either where you lost and it's just awkward and you're like, oh, man, these fans are everywhere. Or the opposite where it happened, and you're like, man, this is crazy. Like, we won, and the fans are all down on top of us.
David Pollack
Well, that's the thing. When you're a player that loses, you're pissed off, and you got all these people that they're not meaning to, but they're running into you. Like, they're running on the field, and they're. They're kind of bumping with you, and you literally want to lower your shoulder and eliminate a human being out of your way because you're. You're upset, right? Like, you're. You want to take it out, but, you know, you can't do that. But it is. It's hard to keep your composure when that's. When that's happening. But when you're a student and that's happened for you, like, the passion and energy because. Because you get so much. Like the dog walk at Georgia when I was there, man, like, to go through and watch these people's eyes and to watch how much, like, passion they have. Like, man, if it doesn't get you excited to play, I don't know what does. If they're that excited, you dang sure better be. And. And the thing I always loved about Georgia, like, you can bark at another human being. Like, a grown adult can bark at you. That's. And that's socially acceptable. Like, I'm all in for that kind of culture, but I can see how it could lead to some. Some bad. I'm surprised we haven't had more of the other, like, people getting upset, people getting ran over, you know, because you're. You're literally running on the field with a bunch of folks that are, you know, not. Not in the greatest of spirits that are sometimes angry and upset because they just lost.
Bobby Bones
I mean, I think a Legera Blonde. That was not a positive one. When they ran down any punch. The. I mean, that. That was a bad one. But, yeah, I think I would. That's how I would react. The fans ran down, and I lost. I do not think. I think I would be so triggered from losing that it would not be a positive environment for me.
David Pollack
Yeah, I mean, you're, you're, the emotions are not fun. Like, you're trying your best to be a good sport and like, shake hands and do that part and then. But now you got people running and bumping into you left and right. Like, yeah, that's not going to bring out the best most of the time in a human being.
Bobby Bones
One other game I wanted to get your opinion on. Do you think Dan Lanning just kind of kept the gas down against Oklahoma State after their comments this past week?
David Pollack
100%, that is exactly who Dan Lanning is. Like, I love his, his postgame comments. He was like, listen, we don't need extra ammunition to kick your. That's what he said. But if you want to throw gas in the fire, we're game. And he had him pissed. And they scored. I watched the game again last night. I was watching it before I went to bed and like, literally, I mean, they scored 21 before you could. They scored 14 in less than three minutes. I mean, they were just out the gate strong. And then they ran, you know, reverse flea flicker when they're up by 28 or 30 or in that spot. Like, you know, listen, you're looking for anything. You're looking for any edge, any sign of disrespect. And so, you know, Van Gundy talking about, or Gundy talking about the, you know, the nil and how they have so many, so much money. I think what Dan said in his head was like, okay, you know what? I'm going to beat you by a million dollars a point. How about that? Like, I got, I got this many million to spend on my team. Like, okay, we beat you by 58, so we spent, we spent 30. So we still beat you by more than enough, brother.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that, that was crazy. In high school for you. When did you become dominant? 9th, 10th grade? When was it for you, physically and mentally that the game was very easy.
David Pollack
So my freshman year was okay. I was an offensive lineman, a little bit chubby, still hadn't grown into my body, actually. They asked me the first day, like, what position you play? I was like, you know, full fullback and linebacker. They're like, not with the 6 flat 40 you play offensive line. And then my second year, I got a little bit better, but I was stuck between JV and varsity and I actually quit. I was like, bro, this sucks. Like, football's hard enough and not playing isn't cool. And then between my sophomore and junior year, I grew 6 inches and gained 60 pounds. And I don't know if you know this, but, like, football is a lot more fun when you're the hammer and not the nail. Like, it just makes a lot more sense. But, like, obviously my junior year started to have success, started to get recruited a little bit. But I'll never forget, man, before my senior year, my coach, I had a brand new coach. He calls me into his office and he was like, hey, man. And I had offers from Georgia, Clemson, like, Ohio State, and company. Going into my senior year, he was like, if we're going to be a great team, I need you to be the best player on the field every single play. And I'm like, I'm your best player. Like, you know, a cocky punk at that age. And. And he put on like six clips in a row of me kind of jogging to the football. And I was like, oh, my gosh. Like, he's not wrong. Like, that's really. That's lazy. And I started practicing like an animal. I started flying around. And he helped me see something in myself that I didn't see. And it took away that blind spot and showed me I needed to really, really work. And then I became a really, really good football player, you know, my senior year of high school.
Bobby Bones
Why Georgia? What was it?
David Pollack
This is the simplest answer you've asked yet. My baby doll, Lindsey Pollock, that was. That was. That was their best. That was the feather in the cap of Georgia. My dad grew up. My dad grew up up north. He was a Giants fan. We didn't pay attention to much college football. Moved down south when I was 4, so we watched NFL, not college, but. But when I started getting recruited, I started seeing all the atmospheres. I was like, this is dope, but. My baby doll, Lindsey Pollock, my only girlfriend, the only girlfriend I've ever had, now my wife, like, I drove to Gainesville, Florida, with Stevie Spurrier, and I was like, oh, my gosh, that's forever away, you know, from her. And so being 55 minutes down the road right there in Athens was like, yeah, that'll work.
Bobby Bones
You have your C ball, get ball signed behind you, so. And you do a couple of podcasts, but. And we're always finding and recommending a good podcast to our listeners. So what are we going to hear on that podcast?
David Pollack
Man, I love college football with everything in me, and right now with our season of life, and my wife, like, a lot of people know, she got diagnosed with brain cancer. And so your priorities and your travel and your schedule is a lot different. So television, absolutely not going to be a thing. But football is so fantastic and so great, and that's literally what you're going to do. I have my buddy, that's my neighbor on the podcast with me who works for Pro Football Focus and has all the numbers. But we come to you, you know, four days a week and just talk football. Unbiased, strong opinions that are not like everybody else's. We're going to watch a lot of tape and just, I mean, it's football, it's college football. It's the best there is. And so just having that and being able to follow it and talk about it is, is something that I enjoy. And I just can't imagine, you know, life without it. And that's what you'll get several days a Week on YouTube and on all the platforms for podcasts.
Bobby Bones
You guys check it out. See ball, get ball with David Pollard. Hey, big fan. Hated you at Georgia when you played us, but loved you all the other times. And then I was a bank. I love watching with the Bengals, too. So, yeah, big fan of you, especially on television. So thank you for the time, man. Really appreciate it. I hope the podcast is killing it.
David Pollack
No, thank you so much, man. Appreciate you having me on.

Bobby Bones
So before all the games happen on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, I want to make sure we capture the moment for the Thursday night game. So we recorded this after the Thursday night game. And so, Eddie, dude, how about them Cowboys?
Eddie
How about them Cowboys? Like, we had a game.
Bobby Bones
Why does city Atlanta. Why can't he catch?
Eddie
I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Do you remember this?
Eddie
Of course I remember it. I. I remember him doing this last year, too. At the beginning of the season, we're like, what's he doing? Like, he's dropping these easy passes that. That hurt. Like, I didn't go into this game thinking that we were going to win it. So it helped that it was just a four point game. But at the end of that game, I really thought that we could win that game.
Bobby Bones
You could have won the game had CD Lamb made that first catch.
Eddie
Yeah, I agree.
Bobby Bones
The second was a little harder, but you're an NFL player. You can't make that cat.
Eddie
What I said Collins Worth, Like, I wouldn't.
Bobby Bones
He's just a nice guy. He's just a nice guy, bro.
Eddie
He's got to catch that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you got to make that catch. You really got to make that. I mean, actually was the same. Dropped three balls, basically. That second one, though, was a game changer. It had flipped the field, they'd have been inside the 30 yard line.
Eddie
Is that the one that hit his helmet? I mean, there was one that he.
Bobby Bones
Was running like a post.
Eddie
Okay, that's not it. There was another one where it went right through his hands, hit his helmet, almost picked.
Bobby Bones
Oh, that was another one. That was that first one.
Eddie
Right.
Kevin
The last one was tough though, right? The diving one. It's like, yeah, okay, but the other.
Eddie
Two for sure, again, you're.
Kevin
But the other two, like, for sure.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
But even the third one like that, it's also the play you have to make. You have to make that play. It's for. It's fourth down. Yeah, it was like fourth and two or three and he throws that. So let's go back to the beginning.
Eddie
Of the game, which was awesome. I mean, that's the way to start a game. Have Jalen Carter spit on your quarterback and get ejected.
Bobby Bones
Dude, when that happened, it was crazy.
Eddie
When that happened and they say he's out of the game. I'm like, oh, my gosh, that is the best birthday gift we've ever gotten.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it was crazy because. And Kevin wasn't even watching. We were on a Tech story. Kevin was like, wait, what happened? And I said, I said, first of the. Jalen hurts. I met Jalen Carter. I said, jalen hurts. Just Spit on Dak and he's out of the game. Which is awesome. A lot crazier. A lot crazy. The two quarterbacks are fighting.
Kevin
Yes.
Bobby Bones
But then I was like, sorry, Jalen Carter. And even then you were like, wait, what? That's crazy. How do you feel about the tape now of Dak spitting first?
Eddie
Dude, Dak is spitting on the ground, which is like. Okay. It's a little motion towards, like, yeah, screw. You know, but it's not spitting your face. Like, Jalen Carter walks right up and goes, boom. Right on your jersey.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. You're a Cowboys fan, so you do have bias now. Unbiasedly, I agree with you.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
It's not the same.
Kevin
No, not at all.
Bobby Bones
If Jalen Carter wanted to, then you spit back on the ground near his feet. If you really. You don't walk.
Eddie
Pretty weak, though. Both of them are like, yeah, I hear you.
Bobby Bones
My. You don't walk up. You're the only green jersey walking up to the entire pile.
Eddie
And. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And it was a loogie.
Eddie
A big one.
Bobby Bones
Yes. And whistle, flag out. I didn't know that was automatic ejection.
Kevin
Me neither.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Crazy. And they were calling other, like, taunting a lot of times in the NFL, too early in the season. They really set the precedent for what they're going to focus on all year to give everybody an idea. And they go a little overboard pretty much every year at something to go, we're not taking this bull crap. So it's sometimes past interference. Sometimes it's. You know, what do they call officially? Was it. No, no, no, no. This flat disorder.
Kevin
Not disorder.
Eddie
Oh, gosh. What's it called?
Kevin
Not a personal foul.
Bobby Bones
It was a personal foul, but it was. Whatever it was. They want to make sure that people aren't acting a fool. Yeah.
Kevin
Yeah. So, I mean, as of this moment, we don't know if he's gonna be, like, suspended for a game or anything.
Eddie
But you just.
Kevin
They could just be. Just to. Yeah, but they. I wouldn't be surprised if they completely be like, oh, he's at one more game. Just to be like, you know what, guys? We're not.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I think it's too much.
Eddie
That's too much. It's a loogie, dude.
Bobby Bones
He lost this whole game. This was the.
Kevin
This was true. It was a whole game. He didn't play once.
Eddie
Yeah, Just. Just losing this game before it even starts or not being able to play is bad. Pretty bad.
Bobby Bones
And it was just points, points, points. It was like seven on seven. They couldn't stop either side it was.
Eddie
Like a rocky fight, you know, boom, boom, back and forth. The one drive where we couldn't score the touchdown, we settled for three. That's kind of like what put us just.
Bobby Bones
First half. Yeah, yeah.
Kevin
And the fumble. Miles Sanders.
Bobby Bones
Oh, at the end. Oh, right before.
Eddie
Right before the delay, though.
Kevin
That was brutal.
Bobby Bones
That was brutal because again, you were close. You were like in the inside the 30, maybe the 20.
Kevin
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys are right there. Big play. He just had that big play and then that happens, like.
Eddie
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
So after game one, what do you think?
Eddie
Very pleased.
David Pollack
Really?
Eddie
Very pleased.
Bobby Bones
Dak played awesome, by the way.
Eddie
Dak Prescott.
Kevin
That was the best game. It's living in the moment now, but that was like the best game of. And it's stats were whatever, but he just looked awesome.
Bobby Bones
He looked great.
Eddie
I'm a little concerned about our defense. Obviously, we're playing the Eagles amazing run game. Like, you got a quarterback that's pretty much a running back. Like, it's hard to stop that. But there were some where, like it was trying to catch a weasel. Like, they just couldn't make tackles. Little concerned about the.
Bobby Bones
Especially the first half because they were not trying to get to Jalen Hurts.
Eddie
Right.
Bobby Bones
And they would try lightly and they wouldn't. Jalen Hurts is really, really, really good.
Kevin
Really good.
Bobby Bones
The fact that people are like, he's just a game manager is insane.
Eddie
Not crazy.
Bobby Bones
Saquon's awesome.
Eddie
Yeah. And I think our secondary did great. There weren't any looks. They never. Jalen Hurts never really threw the ball. I mean, maybe threw the ball a handful of times, but that says really good things about secondary.
Bobby Bones
You're right, because a lot of his running was whenever the coverage was really good and he had both of the touchdowns where everybody was covered up and he had to run and there was another long run.
Kevin
Yeah, I feel like they could have used like a spy, like somebody like.
Bobby Bones
A Micah, especially that forced down. Well, just in general. Even Collinsworth was like, they're going to spy him here. It was like the Eagles was like fourth down to end the game, and Jalen Hurts end up running for like 6 yards and getting the first down. They were like, they should spy him. And then they didn't. And it's just wide. It was just wide open and game over. Mike, you're a Cowboys fan. Your thoughts. First time I've really seen us look like a team. Like Dak, even on the sideline, like pumping everybody up, it just felt like he was really commanding. His mustache looked pretty cool.
Eddie
It Did. Man, his whole looks good. He's bigger. He's bigger, too. They had a shot of him in the locker room before without a shirt. I'm like, dang, dude, I didn't see that.
Kevin
Where'd you find that at?
Eddie
No, no, they shut it on tv. I didn't Google it.
Bobby Bones
Did you have AI make it so you could, like, look at it?
Eddie
And his arms. His arms look big.
Bobby Bones
Dude, he looked good. I said, you spit on it.
Eddie
Stop, Stop.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, the Cowboys look pretty good. Yeah, Dak looked really good. They didn't really throw at George Pickens much.
Eddie
They didn't.
Bobby Bones
They threw at Cdlam a lot, and he had a great game, but, man, drops it completely changed the game. They. They probably win that game. If he makes that second catch. They dropped.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
The third. If he makes that third catch.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
The game continues, but ballsy to also go, you know, on a streak. Fourth and three.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Because it was there. And it was a good throw.
Kevin
It was a good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
And I love our running game, too. I didn't know what to think of Williams, but, man, we got a running back, hopefully.
Bobby Bones
I mean, he is coming off an injury.
Kevin
How about our boy Cooper? BB BB man, they're giving him a lot of love last night. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So your official Dallas Cowboys thought. This is Friday morning. We're recording. This is.
Eddie
I love what I saw, and I'm so excited now. I feel like we're a contender in the NFC east, which is crazy. Haven't seen the Commanders yet, but I feel like we're a contender.
Bobby Bones
Even though their best player was out of the game, you still feel good about that?
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
It doesn't make you feel a little more hesitant on saying we're a contender?
Eddie
No. No. Dude, I loved what I saw from Dak Prescott. The offense just looked dynamic.
Kevin
Oh, Turpin looked good.
Eddie
Turpin, the smallest guy in the NFL.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
They were getting him the ball in places. Also. They weren't kicking him the ball.
Kevin
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Like, when they punted the ball, they weren't giving him a chance.
Eddie
That's amazing. Just that Turpin has survived in the NFL. Like, I feel like you feel like.
Bobby Bones
You can do it. He gives you hope.
Eddie
He gives all his little guys hope. I just feel like three years ago when he joined the team, it was just like, this is cute, you know, like, he's a good little kick returner. Like, good punt returner.
Bobby Bones
You think? That's what the coaches said. All right, guys, let's look at this Turpin guy. Mark, what do you think? I mean, he's cute.
Eddie
He's cute. Cute, fast little guy. But, dude, he's. They've. They figured out a way to put him mix in the mix of the team.
Kevin
Yeah. Running back, and you can actually do it.
Eddie
It's cool. I'm excited, man.
Bobby Bones
Who do you play next week? Do you know?
Kevin
I'm not a Giant.
Eddie
Oh, the Giants. Let's go, baby. Let's go.
Kevin
That's a winnable game, you'd think.
Eddie
Yes, absolutely.
Bobby Bones
Man, this guy has changed in the course of two weeks from I'm not watching the games, they've lost me to what he is now, smiling ear to ear.
Eddie
Do you have a new baby, Micah?
Bobby Bones
Who?
Eddie
Who?
Kevin
Okay.
Eddie
Who's Micah Parsons?
Bobby Bones
Well, we don't know how he played or if he played on Sunday. Yeah. So that'd be a pretty cool man.
Eddie
What did you guys think, though? Like what? What did you think as far as.
Bobby Bones
Like, I. I just said bet the Cowboys plus eight and a half. So all my thought was, I hope a bunch of listeners jumped in, because I'm up to this point right now, I'm hot. So I was like, hope they jumped in, because I'm probably gonna tell them a lot of wrong things.
Kevin
250.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Nice. Yeah. Did you guys bet it? Of course.
Kevin
No.
Bobby Bones
What, you want to believe her?
Kevin
I know. The big thing was, like, you guys said, I wasn't there in the beginning. I didn't have my phone on me.
Bobby Bones
But we did it during the show.
Kevin
Yeah, I know.
Eddie
You can burst whenever.
Kevin
I know. I know. I go from one thing to the other. My. You know, the mind just goes.
Eddie
Excuses.
Kevin
Yeah, I know. Honestly. Yeah.
Eddie
And you don't forget the fact, like. Oh, did you feel like the Cowboys could cover? No. Follow your boy, dude. He's on a heater.
Kevin
Okay.
Bobby Bones
Right now, it's hot.
Kevin
I agree.
Bobby Bones
And it's probably gonna get cold real soon.
Eddie
I mean, that's the trend.
Bobby Bones
Really? Yeah.
Kevin
That's why I don't want to mess up the heater is what it is.
Bobby Bones
You won't mess up the heater.
Kevin
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I do have college football's best rivalry nicknames. These are rivalry games. Which way do you want to do it? Because I can give you. I'll tell you what the name is. You tell me the two teams in it.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
For example, man, there's a lot of good ones. Okay. This is the easiest one. Probably.
Eddie
This is gonna be hard for me.
Kevin
Bedlam, Bedlam, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Now we were playing against each other. We weren't Playing together. Oh. But, yes.
Eddie
I was gonna guess Oklahoma. Oklahoma State.
Bobby Bones
No, you weren't. You aren't.
Eddie
What is Bedlam?
David Pollack
It's the.
Bobby Bones
It's the game, okay, Of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. And it's not even. They don't play it anymore.
Kevin
I honestly. I was gonna say I don't think I heard it, but I just figured. Oh, Bedlam, Oklahoma.
Bobby Bones
Oh, really?
Kevin
That's how it hit me. Yeah, that's why I thought about it.
Bobby Bones
Nice. Okay, so we'll do five of these, see how you guys do.
Eddie
Okay.
Kevin
And we got to say our names first.
Bobby Bones
No, just write it down.
Kevin
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I think Kevin. I think you're gonna kill him.
Eddie
Oh, I'm sure of it.
Bobby Bones
Catholics versus Convicts.
Eddie
What the. I mean, necessary roughness. Catholics versus convicts.
Bobby Bones
Notre Dame. Got it, Eddie.
Eddie
Notre Dame. Penn State. Close.
Bobby Bones
It just happened, Kevin.
Kevin
Notre Dame. Miami.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it just happened.
Eddie
Oh, why is my aunt. Why are they the convicts?
Bobby Bones
Because they got in a bunch of trouble. All those guys back in the day, Bad boys. Okay, that's one. How about the Iron Bowl? Mm.
Kevin
Yep.
Eddie
Mm.
Kevin
I'm ready.
Eddie
Got it.
Bobby Bones
Eddie.
Eddie
Ohio State, Michigan.
Bobby Bones
Kevin.
Kevin
Auburn, Alabama. I thought you would know that one.
Bobby Bones
Why.
Eddie
Why is it the Iron Bowl?
Bobby Bones
Do you watch sports?
Eddie
Yeah, dude. I just. I guess I'm not catching on. These names that they call these, it's not new.
Bobby Bones
The Iron bowl is, like, one of them.
Eddie
What? Why? Why the. Why? Alabama, Auburn, Iron.
Bobby Bones
Don't know why it's called the Iron Bowl.
Eddie
Okay.
Kevin
I thought for sure you get that one.
Bobby Bones
The Egg Bowl.
Eddie
Oh, boy.
Kevin
I'm ready.
Eddie
Hold on. The Egg Bowl. It's the egg battle of the eggs.
Bobby Bones
Mike, can you find out why it's called the Iron bowl and the Egg Bowl? That'd be good for me to learn.
Kevin
Yeah, I've never looked it up.
Bobby Bones
Says it has to do with the industrial center.
Kevin
Of iron in Alabama.
Bobby Bones
In Birmingham. Got it.
Eddie
Industrial. Okay. Egg Bowl. Let's go. Egg Bowl. Yep. Eddie. Ucla, usc.
Bobby Bones
And why would you think that? For the Egg Bowl. Like, where did your mind go, man?
Eddie
Just LA rivalry, you know, like. But the sunny la. Sunny side up.
Bobby Bones
Oh, sunny eggs. Yeah. Got it, Kevin.
Kevin
Ole Miss in Mississippi State.
Bobby Bones
Correct.
Eddie
What the.
Bobby Bones
Because of the trophy is a golden football. On the top of it looks like a golden egg. Oh, cool.
Kevin
That's cool. That's better than the iron industry.
Eddie
You know, I'm figuring out the context clues. Doesn't really work in this game.
Bobby Bones
Well, it's not so much about context. It's just. Have you watched sports and heard them say it a bunch because again, I don't know. I didn't know why it was called the egg Bowl. I just watched it a bunch of times.
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
Okay. The world's largest outdoor cocktail party.
Eddie
Okay, I know this one.
Bobby Bones
You do?
Eddie
Yep.
David Pollack
Are you sure?
Kevin
Really?
Bobby Bones
Nope.
Eddie
No, I'm not sure, but I have a guess.
Bobby Bones
I'm rooting for you.
Kevin
The world's largest outdoor in cocktail party.
Eddie
Man, I might get him on this one.
Kevin
Yeah. I don't know this one.
Bobby Bones
Kevin.
Kevin
I'm going to guess. Lsu? Alabama.
Bobby Bones
No. Kind of close. Ish. But no. Eddie.
Eddie
Ole Miss, Mississippi State. Gosh, was I close?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you're really close to the last answer. The egg bowl.
Kevin
Dude, that was the egg bowl we just did.
Bobby Bones
Oh, son of a. Yeah, you're really close because that's the last question we asked.
Eddie
I thought Ole Miss, they made those drinks like hottie toddies.
Bobby Bones
Even if you thought that the last question was Ole Miss Miss.
Eddie
Is it Ole Miss someone else.
Bobby Bones
No, it's Georgia, Florida. And they play that game. They meet in the middle. Play them.
Kevin
Oh, Mike.
Bobby Bones
Massive tailgating.
Eddie
Oh, that's every.
Bobby Bones
No, but they play it in a different city. Yeah. It's a neutral site. Yeah.
Kevin
Okay.
Eddie
And then Ole Miss was a egg bowl.
Kevin
Uhhuh.
Eddie
Okay. I remember.
Bobby Bones
Played in Jacksonville. Okay. Yeah, well, see, man, that was. That's embarrassing.
Eddie
I'm waiting for the Red river rivalry.
Bobby Bones
Well, used to be called the Red River Shootout.
Eddie
Yeah, but that.
Bobby Bones
That doesn't. We're not gonna do that one. But that is Tex.
Kevin
Oklahoma.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, we're not doing that one.
Eddie
I heard someone though, one of the commentators on me, like, I don't care. I'm gonna call the shoot anyway. Cuz I called the shoot. I'm like, oh, okay, dude.
Bobby Bones
Oh, you're so brave.
Eddie
Commentator. Yeah, whatever, man.
Bobby Bones
The border war. Oh, dang.
Eddie
That's gonna be South Texas.
Bobby Bones
This one was played this past weekend as a hammer. Hint, this past weekend is. Yeah, it hasn't happened yet for us because we recorded this on Friday after the Cowboys game. So for us it's tomorrow. But for everybody listening, it was this past weekend.
Eddie
The border war.
Kevin
Huh?
Eddie
I'm in.
Bobby Bones
Kevin.
Kevin
I really don't know. Michigan State and Ohio State or just Ohio University Bobcats. Michigan State. No. Yeah, Ohio Bobcats.
Bobby Bones
Eddie.
Eddie
Yeah. This is a border war. Right. So it's going to go down to South Texas. El Paso.
Bobby Bones
You're thinking like Mexico and America.
Eddie
Yeah, like the wall. Like border. Dude. Utep.
Bobby Bones
There's a border war down there. Yeah, for sure, but not Is Kansas. Missouri.
Kevin
Oh, I didn't even know they're playing this weekend.
Eddie
Oh, cuz they're really close.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I'll give you a couple more.
Kevin
Okay.
Bobby Bones
Farmageddon.
Kevin
Oh, yep, yep.
Bobby Bones
Ed, you're trying to get on the board.
Eddie
I know.
Bobby Bones
I'm giving them to you till you can get one.
Eddie
I got one.
Bobby Bones
If you say Mississippi State, Ole Miss. I'm leaving.
Eddie
No, I'm in, Eddie. Nebraska. Iowa.
Bobby Bones
God. So you're just guessing What?
Eddie
I know. What's it called?
Bobby Bones
Farmageddon.
Eddie
There's nothing but farms out there.
Bobby Bones
No, no, but you're just guessing. I thought you would know it.
Eddie
Oh, I've never heard of that.
Bobby Bones
Kevin.
Kevin
Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna guess Iowa. Iowa State.
Bobby Bones
It happened already. It was Iowa State, Kansas State. It was in this year. It was in Ireland.
Kevin
Dublin.
Eddie
Where there are no farms.
Kevin
Well, hiking.
Bobby Bones
No, no, they played that one in Dublin. But Farmageddon happens every year. It's never been in Dublin before. Just this year it was in Dublin.
Eddie
Did they call it yes. In Dublin?
Bobby Bones
They did. Because that's the name of the game. It's the two schools where they are, is why it's called Farmaged. It's not played on a farm. It's not Field of Dreams.
Kevin
That'd be cool, though.
Eddie
That would be cool.
Bobby Bones
If there's anything else.
Eddie
Yeah, give me an easy one.
Bobby Bones
Dude, you can just yell it out if you know it.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
The Holy War.
Eddie
That's gotta be Notre Dame.
Kevin
Yeah.
Eddie
Versus where did Rudy go to get in Notre Dame? Holy Cross.
Bobby Bones
That's the Rudy Bowl. Utah and byu.
Kevin
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Bones
The Civil War.
Kevin
Oregon. Oregon State.
Bobby Bones
Got it. Good job.
Eddie
They still call it that?
Bobby Bones
Well, it doesn't have to be about this Civil War. There are many civil wars. It's not Capital C. Civil War.
Eddie
I know, man, but one guy was.
Bobby Bones
Calling the Red River Rivalry the Shootout. Believe it. Paul Bunyan's ax.
Eddie
Oh, hold on. Stephen F. Austin.
Bobby Bones
Get it, boy. Get it, boy.
Eddie
Nah. Oh. Boise State.
Bobby Bones
Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota.
Eddie
I'm gonna get one.
Bobby Bones
I don't have any more.
Eddie
Oh, that's it. We're done.
Bobby Bones
I mean, there's a hundred, but you're not gonna know any of these. And I say that because I wouldn't have known. I've never heard of some of these. The Butt Bowl.
Kevin
What the heck?
Bobby Bones
I know.
Kevin
We would definitely know that if we heard it.
Eddie
The Butt Bowl.
Bobby Bones
It's Baylor Texas Tech.
Eddie
Oh, never heard that.
Bobby Bones
Battle for the Bones.
Kevin
The Bobby Bull.
Bobby Bones
I know.
Eddie
That's Arkansas versus Arkansas State.
Bobby Bones
It is Not. That's Arkansas versus the Carolina Panthers. It's because it's bar. They're like ribs on the trophy. I've seen this one. It's Memphis versus uab. Because it's Alamo. Yeah. Barbecue one the game. That's Alabama, lsu, Ohio State, Michigan. I don't know these. I didn't even know that one was called the game. Let me see. I got a couple more.
Eddie
Hey, give me battle the boot. I know that one.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's not on here. Arkansas, lsu.
Eddie
Throw it on there so I get one.
Bobby Bones
I just said what it was. Keg and nails.
Eddie
Keg and nails.
Kevin
That's cool. Whatever that is.
Eddie
Oh, that's Washington State versus Idaho.
Bobby Bones
Cincinnati, Louisville. Old oaken bucket.
Kevin
No idea.
Eddie
Old oaken.
Kevin
I don't even.
Bobby Bones
It's Purdue, Indiana.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And that's it.
Kevin
What about the apple cup?
Eddie
Is that New York?
Bobby Bones
That's got to be a wash. Is that a Washington? Yeah.
Eddie
Washington versus Washington State.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I don't know how I knew that.
Eddie
I guess George Washington. Apple tree.
Kevin
Tree, Right.
Eddie
Then you cut down an apple tree or is that a cherry tree?
Bobby Bones
First of all, it's a cherry tree. Second of all, what is going on?
Kevin
You're thinking of Johnny Appleson.
Eddie
I'm over man.
Kevin
The state of Washington and George Washington.
Bobby Bones
All right, let's throw back to the current show that we recorded after all the games.

This is Julian Edelman from Games with Names. Football is back. That means it's tailgate time. And this season the only meat going on the grill is deets and Watson. Some of my favorites are the Black Angus deets dogs, the Italian style chicken sausage and the Asiago spinach chicken sausage, just to name a few. Oh, and I love the jalapeno mustard. It's flavor packed and you could just tell Dietz and Watson uses the highest quality meats in every bite. Dietz and Watson was born in Philly in 1939 and they've been doing it the right way ever since. Visit dietzen.com the right way to learn more about the deets difference.
Bobby Bones
All right, that's it. Thank you, guys. Big game tonight. Go Bears.
Kevin
Go Bears.
David Pollack
Big game.
Kevin
Yep, Bears.
Eddie
Go Bears. I love the Bears.
Bobby Bones
They probably won't win, but go Bears. Yeah, it was fun. So Arkansas plays Ole Miss this week. Oh, yeah, Ole miss.
Kevin
I don't know, 202 0.
Bobby Bones
We're 2 0, but we haven't played anybody. It's fun to, like, have a little excitement for no reason because we had no excitement going into the season and we thought we'd win those first two games. So there's not real reason to have excitement now. But. But there is. We're like, oh, we may be able to do do this. Even though we expected to win those first two games, we're like, huh? We might have a little something we didn't think we had. So I don't know if I'm gonna go down to Oxford or not. It's only four hours.
Kevin
It's not bad at all.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So. And then Memphis is the next week. Won't go to that because I'm at iheart in Vegas.
Eddie
Are they in Arkansas?
Bobby Bones
They're at Memphis, which is weird. And then Notre Dame comes to Arkansas and I will be at that one. That'll be a cool. Well, no, I mean, the big one's gonna be this week if we win this one national championship, baby.
David Pollack
That pinky's coming off.
Eddie
Sound like a Cowboys fan.
Bobby Bones
Hey, I said I'd give $10,000 to somebody if we made the College Football Playoff.
Eddie
You did.
Bobby Bones
Don't know who that is or how I'm gonna do it. But yeah, that's it. Thank you guys. Hope you have a great day. If you got to this point, I always appreciate it. Well, we know they do because we can see the data streams, but we don't know if.
Eddie
We don't know who's listening.
Bobby Bones
And also we don't know if people just hit play and then walk away.
Eddie
Good point.
Bobby Bones
There could be a lot of people doing that. Yeah, go into the DMS. Mr. Bobby Bones. Hit me up. Thank you guys. We'll see you later on this week. Bye everybody. “If you hawk a loogie on me, you won’t get something back…” ([53:00])
Mississippi State & Jeff Lebby:

Bobby quizzes Eddie and Kevin on famous college football rivalry nicknames—results are predictably lopsided and hilarious.
Others covered: Bedlam, Iron Bowl, World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, Civil War, Paul Bunyan’s Axe, and more.
Running gag: Eddie’s confusion and Kevin’s quiet dominance.
This episode is perfect for fans who want to relive the drama of football's opening weekend, hear honest (and sometimes painful) confessions about betting on games, enjoy behind-the-scenes stories from David Pollack, and test their own knowledge of quirky college football traditions. It's informative, honest, and occasionally outrageous—everything you'd expect from Bobby Bones and crew on "25 Whistles."
